My beautiful house is available for you. My name is TOMO. I'm from Japan and I've been living in Tochigi for many years. I am fluent in Japanese,English fairly well. and korean and chinese to some extent.
“When you stay with Tomo, you will get an excellent host and tour guide in one package. I got to see the main attractions in the Nikko area, eat at some local places, learn about Japanese life, have great conversation, and eat such amazing Japanese breakfasts made by his mom. Tomo kindly refunded me a night after my trip was delayed by a day, when my flight disappeared unexpectedly from my itinerary. He was quick to respond to communication. While the location of his place isn't the closest to Nikko nor to the train station, he kindly picked me up from the bus station, drove me around all day for the price of gas, and dropped me off to the train station. He was so helpful and sent me the bus schedule from Narita airport, when I couldn't find it in my own internet search. I am glad that I got to try staying in a Japanese guest home. Being the end of winter, it was cold and the portable heater helped warm the living space. The shower was in the main house, but I could come and go without bothering anyone and made sure to not use it when his grandma needed it.”

“Yukino and Shino’s place is very comfortable! I was checked in at the little reception desk and felt welcomed as the rules and instructions were explained. They have explanations and signs in both Japanese and English. The showers and toilets are very clean and updated, which I didn’t know from the pictures. But they have so many thoughtful little touches that made my stay very convenient and hassle free! Everyone else that was staying in the other rooms were very quiet and barely made a sound, which I tried to do as well. I drove my car, and I had no problem looking for nearby paid parking. Each evening I returned, they would ask about my day and what I did in the area! I was happy to feel that they were interested in my trip! Thank you for a wonderful stay!”
“My two night stay with Sumire was much more than I expected. Sumire goes above and beyond any host I have ever met. She is kind and generous. Her home is located in a beautiful area of Nikko with trees and rice fields and lovely views of the surrounding mountains. Sumire's home is as warm and welcoming as Sumire herself. Her attention to her guest's needs is quite amazing. Because her home is outside the town centre, she picks you up and drops you off at the train station. Like Japanese trains she is prompt. Never leaves you waiting and responds quickly to any message you may send her. Although Sumire's English is not strong and my Japanese is non existent we had no problem communicating. Thank you Google Translate. Sumire kindly makes both breakfast and dinner which you share at her table. Sumire makes an outstanding takoyaki which she pairs with a lovely plum wine. I got very accustomed to my ritual bath in the evening. A deep soak is so great after a long day exploring Nikko. It felt like a little private onsen. I have to mention that Sumire was very supportive when I got hit with a debilitating migraine. She provided me with almost the care of a nurse. She gave me ice packs and a natural remedy for my nausea and even gave me an outstanding massage. She has healing hands. I am a massage therapist and I know healing hands. Thank you Sumire. When I return to Nikko I would think if staying nowhere else. You are an angel.”
