Philip’s cottage home is more wonderful than the descriptions and pictures given. Tucked into the center of Austin, you can get an old school and original taste of what drew so many people here - before the growth of recent times. The cottage is a gorgeous, quaint, well kept home with everything you need. This is a HOME, and you will feel instantly at ease here. Philip is so gracious and him popping over to work on his painting studio in the back yard only adds to the Austin of it all. Walkable, bike-able, drivable, ride share-able: the location is perfect. Philip was so happy to have my older lab mix to come stay with us as well - he even left her some extra blankets to lay on! So sweet! It felt like staying at a friend’s adorable cottage core house more than an Airbnb. Stay here if you’d like a true, relaxed, Austin experience.

We had a great stay at this home and really appreciated how communicative the host was-always quick to respond to any questions. The home felt very “lived in,” which we actually appreciated for a kid-friendly stay. The photos were accurate overall, though the exterior was more overgrown than expected and the trampoline looked a bit “play at your own risk.” That said, our kids had an amazing time with the seemingly endless toys, and it was a huge relief not having to bring bulky items like a stroller or a Pack ‘n Play, since they’re here. The beds were very comfortable, the A/C kept us cool during a hot Austin weekend, and having a good washer/dryer made life easier. The location is definitely a strong point—easy access to some great local spots, including Launderette and Bufalina, both of which we’d highly recommend. Check-out was simple. Our only real suggestion would be a deeper cleaning refresh to match the overall comfort and utility. This place is equipped for families!

A really peaceful and cozy place perfect for our needs. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The area was also great and close to everything we wanted to do. Carole was a wonderful host and did everything to make us feel at home. Highly recommend staying here!

Had an awesome stay in The Austin Texas House! The place was super clean and comfy, and the location was perfect!!! just a short walk to our favorite restaurant. I got to meet Chris and he was super friendly and welcoming, plus we got to meet his sweet dog Mika too! Really appreciated the hospitality. Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in town!

This really neat place was great for a family of four! We were able to settle and rest between fun Austin events. The location provides easy access to downtown and cool east Austin spots. Everything was stocked, maintained and as advertised. The massive tree outside covers 4 different yards! Meg was quick to respond during booking and checkout. Recommend!

Great value in an excellent location. Check in was a bit tricky. Complex is like a maze but the screenshots provided during checkin with directions was helpful. We did get lost leaving the unit a couple times but after some time you get acclimated to the area. Never used our vehicle as there was tons to do in walking distance of the unit.

My stay at The Overlook was very relaxing and peaceful. The house is stocked with all the amenities needed to feel like a home away from home. I loved the gourmet kitchen. The appliances and gadgets are all top quality. I loved the fancy coffee maker and there is also a beautiful espresso maker if you’re into that. The hosts made it easy by providing ground coffee in the fridge as well as creamer! The upstairs bathroom has a beautiful shower and is fully equipped with everything you need. The bed I slept in was comfortable and the linens spotless. The decor is tasteful with a fun Austin/Texas theme. The yard is fenced and private. This house is the perfect place to stay if you want to be near all that Austin has to offer but also want to have a comfortable home-base to come back to and recharge your batteries!

We loved this cute little house in Austin! It was so comfortable and cozy. The location is great and central to everything and even though it’s close to the highway we barely heard any traffic noise. Jennifer is a fantastic host and was so responsive to any question that I had. She went above and beyond to fix an AC issue and make sure we were comfortable. Absolutely would stay again!

Very nice space that makes you feel right at home. Record player with a good selection , we had a great time listening to willie nelson. Overall no complaints

The location is excellent for someone that wants to be nearby several things that Austin has to offer but still doesn't want to be downtown, so you can walk to HEB, black's barbecue, UTA or grab a scooter/electric bike and explore. The apartment is very clean and organized, had all the amenities one needs to spend a few weeks! The host answers promptly and also encourages you to ask whenever something comes up!

We enjoyed our stay! The place was nice and clean, host was very responsive throughout. There were good restaurants around and everything was a short distance away.

Anish was amazing. We stayed here for 4 months while my wife finished her degree in Ut. We loved the area, the homey feel of anish’s home and how quick Anish was to respond to any of our questions. Would stay again!
