A suspension bridge is viewed against a backdrop of snow-covered mountains under a bright blue sky. Snow blankets the pathway leading to the bridge, framed by trees, with the sunlight creating a shimmering effect on the snow. The scene captures a serene and picturesque winter landscape.

Tranquil Mountain Getaway | Breathtaking Scenery

KumaranRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had an unreal time staying here! Genuinely couldn’t recommend it more if you’re thinking of booking. Anju and her family were lovely, super helpful with loads of suggestions for things to do and even held onto our bags the whole next day for us so that we could go out on a hike without lugging them around! They also run a lovely little cafe just across from the train station, perfect for grabbing a coffee or bite before heading off for a hike or whatever you’re up to (and you get a free coffee if you’re staying in the Airbnb, which is a nice touch) They’re doing a brilliant job with the place, the vibe in the cafe is deadly and the accommodation itself is massive! There were only three of us but the place could easily fit more, and the kitchen’s fully kitted out if you want to cook. The local shop also has a really good range of items, the fresh meats are great!

Rice granary The house was built 300 years ago.

Had an amazing time there. The location was very well preserved, and well maintained. You feel though you are stepping into a previous century when you enter the ground. We got a comfortable stay. And the owner was very friendly and helpful. Nearby town, there’s a little Izakaya called Imada which we recommend to visit.

The check-in instructions were very polite, and I was grateful for the quick response. The inn was a very relaxing space surrounded by special furniture. The air I breathed in the morning in the veranda garden was very pleasant. It was a place I would definitely like to stay again!

Staying here was such a delight! I would definitely like to stay a lot longer! The home is beautiful, clean and super cozy! It also has that classic Japanese home feel to it that makes you feel comfortable the second you walk into the door! The host is also really nice and respectable. I would definitely recommend going there for your trip!

Experience the hearth and Kamado!1 group limited Ancient Minjuku [Morning, dinner]

YasukoRating, 5 stars10 months ago
It fully maintained the good points of an old house, and on the contrary, I felt it was beautiful. The owner and his wife and daughter's lovely hospitality made for a lively time, and the food the owner made was beautiful and had a very gentle taste that brought out the best in people. The experience around the fireplace was a very atmospheric first experience, and it seems that my mother who I took with me also drank a lot of alcohol, and it was lively throughout. My daughter had the experience of splitting firewood, fanning the fire, and cooking rice in a kamado, and I think the rice was exceptionally delicious. The wife was also carrying her child, but she handled it with a smile and was very friendly. I am very grateful that my trip with my two daughters was very nice.
A traditional Japanese dining scene is set around an irori, featuring various skewered fish and meats cooking over open flames. Plates of sliced game meat are arranged alongside, with a glass of beer present on a low table, creating a communal dining atmosphere.

[Food Matters] 100-year-old old house "Farmhouse Higashi"

RobertRating, 5 stars1 month ago
One of the best places we have stayed in during our current trip in Aichi. Hiroaki is a hunter and a great chef. His meals were all creatively prepared with deer meat prepared in different ways. He used all local ingredients, with most from his own vegetable gardens and bamboo grove! Hiroaki showed us that country living can be great and enjoyable!

A 200-year-old house in the heart of Tsumago-juku is spacious and completely private!

ElianaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
This place is absolutely beautiful and authentic. It is located in the lovely town of Tsumagojuku along the Nakasendo trail. We wish we could have stayed longer, the house and the town are magical and they both exceeded our expectations. The decoration of the house is wonderful, many beautiful pieces and small details everywhere. The house is big and has traditional tatami mat bedrooms, complemented by modern bathroom and kitchen facilities. The beds are very comfortable, everything was spotless and we had all we needed during our stay. The host was excellent, very hospitable and kind, communication was easy. Great experience! We would love to go back, and we highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Nakasendo area.
