Vacation rentals in Theriso

A short walk from downtown Kalyves, but far removed from the hustle and bustle of the town of Kalyves. Several good places to eat, with some services such as medical and a pharmacy, a couple small markets with enough provisions. The location had absolutely amazing views of the bay of Souda, very private and quiet. The property is secured by an electric gate, to keep wandering tourists away, in that this accommodation appears historical in nature, maybe all that’s left of an old kastelli, based on the rock walls. I could be wrong, but I would guess that the actual accommodation is what used to be the powder magazine for the old fort. We enjoyed the place immensely.

We felt very comfortable here! The location is perfect, by car you can easily get to many great beaches without having to drive extremely far. The room was as described, it was totally clean and was even cleaned once during our stay. The view was totally beautiful and having breakfast on the balcony was simply awesome! I have to give a small deduction, because the bed is quite small and the apartment is also very noisy... unfortunately you can hear all the sounds from outside and also from the neighbors... Thank God we were lucky that we had quiet neighbors, but if families with children live next door, it could be a little louder. Nevertheless, we were completely satisfied, the host is super friendly and gave us great recommendations! We would come back 🥹🥰

We had a wonderful 10 days at Villa Merina. The villa is spotless, beautifully furnished and very well equipped. It was so relaxing to spend time around the pool and admire the surrounding scenery and just take in Crete. You do need a car to get about. Vasilliki is a great host, proactive and very attentive. The fridge was well stocked on arrival and Vasilliki even presented us with a box of very tasty local pastries, during our stay.

It's a dream come true! This place was just perfect – from the amenities to the loving furnishings to the warm hospitality of Ksenia and Giannis. Everything is high-quality, tasteful and designed with so much attention to detail that you feel comfortable and welcome from the first moment. A real highlight was the terrace with a breathtaking view of the sea – waking up in the morning with the sound of the waves, ending the day in the evening with this panorama... priceless! Particularly beautiful was the proximity to the cozy tavern, which is run by the host family. There is the same warm, open atmosphere as in the accommodation. We spent wonderful evenings there with delicious traditional, regional Greek cuisine, live music and a lot of cordiality. A place we think back to with a smile – and a place we definitely want to come back to. A thousand thanks for everything!

We had a fantastic stay at this villa in Crete! The location was absolutely perfect—centrally positioned on the island, it made exploring both the east and west sides, as well as all the nearby towns, super convenient. The house itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and supported throughout our visit. The grounds were impeccably maintained and much larger than the photos portray. One of the highlights was the charming taverna right next door, and there were plenty of other great restaurants less than 10 minutes away by car. The warm hospitality from everyone we met made it feel like a true home away from home. We can’t wait to return one day and would wholeheartedly recommend this villa to anyone planning a trip to Crete.

We were allowed to spend 7 days in the accommodation. The furnishings of the apartment even exceeded the description. From juice press, 2 TVs to the washing machine, everything is available. We were particularly impressed by the orange, mandarin and lemon trees that we were allowed to use daily.

Great place with spectacular views - communication, check-in, stay were super easy! Around it, some people live who can look at the outdoor area, which did not disturb us because of the few people who were there at the time. The accommodation is surrounded by a great landscape, the E4 passes right by the house. However, the routes to the hiking areas such as the White Mountain Reserve or the highest mountain of Crete are not accessible by car in less than 2 hours. Overall, we felt super comfortable and would come back :)

We loved our four days in this lovely apartment in Rodovani! Manos met us when we arrived, left us an array of fruit, coffee, tea, bread, and other treats — and was a terrific and cheerful communicator during our stay.
