Chalet vacation rentals in The Great Lakes

This was my second stay at Douglas’s and it was great again!

What an absolute "gem" in the woods. We couldn't have asked for a better host. Jennifer was very receptive and periodically checked "to make sure" everything was okay. The house was in a secluded and quiet wooded neighborhood. There is something to be said about enjoying a hot cup of coffee sitting and the porch and taking in the sights and sounds of autumn and the smell of the fallen leaves. The dogs had a great time exploring the fenced in yard. I have a passion for cooking and found the kitchen supplied with an abundant supply of cooking utensils and pots and pans with a large kitchen table to sit down and enjoy those dishes. Quiet time in the evenings were spent watching movies in the family rooms. The house is centrally located and never more than an hour away from our daily adventures in various areas in the state. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would gladly stay here again.

We had the most amazing time while staying here! It is definitely one of our favorite family vacations and hope to stay again soon! The house was beautiful and has the most amazing view of the lake and mountains. We enjoyed spending our time at the lake during the day and then had a blast playing pool, games and watching movies on the projector at night

Wife and I stayed here during a short hiking trip. Place was perfect. Short drive to several waterfalls hikes and Porcupine Mountains. Hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking. The guidebook the hosts provide was an A+++. Great place and would highly rec'd to anyonein future.

Very clean! Had everything we needed except an outdoor grill, but that's on me for not reading the amenities list close enough. Very comfortable and spacious with beautiful wooded surroundings. The chalet is located closer to Hwy 13 than I realized so some traffic noise, but not bad. Could still appreciate the quietness of the area. Ideal location as it is only a 2-mile drive to Bayfield, and close to the Fruit Loop drive. Spent time at the community beach enjoying the views of Lake Superior. The host quickly responded to any questions we had with friendly and detailed information. Would highly recommend!

Our second stay at Relive for romantic weekend. The yurts were great, we tried this first. This chalet offers more amenities shower, tv with dvd's and is well stocked with all kitchen appliances for different experience on same property. Laundry including dryer were appreciated for wet towels after sauna or hot tub. Hosts are thoughtful and responsive if you need anything. Several yurts on property but all spread out so still very private. The back porch and swinging chairs were wonderful for reading. Beautiful peaceful forest setting. We brought our yoga mats to use on outdoor deck or indoors ( big bay windows and lots of sunlight in main room). Short hikes on property or longer ones at hoggs falls 15 min away. Fireplaces/firepits made it xtra cozy. Thanks Millenia and Johnny!

Patricia is a great host. The space is lovely with big beautiful windows, and was perfect for a restful retreat for three generations of our family! 5 adults and one infant. We did an unusual amount of cooking, and the kitchen is very well equipped for that. Two fridges, a stand mixer, blender, BBQ, etc, etc, etc - it was a breeze. I hope we'll find our way back! Clean, and well stocked with linens, etc. If you're looking for a place to rest or just spend time with friends and family, I recommend this highly. There are some day trips that are possible from here, but we mostly just stayed in and spent time with each other, resting from otherwise busy lives!

The inside of the cabin is well appointed with a designer’s touch. Spacious but still cozy. Loved being so close to the little village of Willams Bay. Recommend.

Ann and Cheryl were exceptional hosts. They went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time in spite of blizzard in April! The house is amazing and the surroundings are beautiful. I would highly recommend. We will be back!

Joanna & Caitlin have a beautiful place that is amazing for all ranges of groups from families with kids to a group of friends looking for a weekend escape. I cannot say enough good things as each and every square foot was carefully thought out and designed. We enjoyed our weekend and the only thing we left wanting is to return again for more weekends to come. I highly recommend this place to anyone interested in booking as it is very clean and has all a long list of amenities. Thank you Joanna & Caitlin for an amazing weekend!!

We absolutely loved this home. It was absolutely perfect for our family of 4! Our weekend in Ellicottville was nothing short of incredible, thanks to this beautiful and thoughtfully curated Airbnb. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a space that felt more like a retreat than a rental. The home had a picture-perfect setting — cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated — with all the amenities we needed to relax and reconnect as a family. It was spotless, well appointed , loved the firepit and hot tub! The views of the mountains were stunning and the host, Rob, was super accommodating ! We will be back!

Sara’s place was absolutely spectacular! Every little detail was thoughtfully considered, making it perfect for a big group or family. From an abundance of towels, blankets, and dishes to a well-stocked kitchen with spices—you name it, they had it! Our family frequently rents large homes, and it's usually hard to please everyone, but this time, not a single person had any complaints—only praise for how much they enjoyed the stay. The amenities were top-notch! We made great use of the sauna, red light bathrooms, and hot tub. Plus, the home offered plenty of gathering spaces for both adults and kids to relax and enjoy. It was truly a comfortable and welcoming experience. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-equipped, thoughtfully designed getaway!

This is our third time staying at the Cedars and it was amazing as always! Such a cozy, peaceful spot for our family of 4. Loved the wintry landscape and warmth of the cottage. Beautiful views of the lake. Beds were super cozy and the bathrooms were pristine! Only a 20 minute drive to Sir Sam’s ski resort, which we ventured to as well. The outdoor sauna was a fantastic addition, especially after a day of skiing! Ashley is a fantastic host who is always available and responsive if needed. We wish we had stayed longer! Thanks Ashley and Peter! We will be back for sure! :)

This is a modern, comfortable house in a great location! It provided a central headquarters for our family reunion as we golfed, hiked, ate, shopped, and rode bikes. Our host (Nick) struck the perfect balance of being responsive while still respecting our privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Varsha was a very responsive host that answered all my questions. Check in and check out institutions were very clear and easy to follow. A very cozy environment that feels like home. This was a beautiful home with beautiful views and it was a great place for our family to spend some time together after a wedding.

We've been to Murls cottage a few times. It is perfect for the findley lake area, and we even brought our snowshoes for the trails behind the cottage. Vintage, old school cottage as pictured, and we love having the fireplace.

A perfect location with a well kept property and cottage. Fantastic for fisherman with the public launch just 5 minutes away. Can’t wait to go back.

We had a wonderful time at Barkview Hideaway! The owners are clearly experienced hosts, you can tell as soon as you walk into the chalet. They do a great job anticipating guests' needs. The place is cozy, comfortable, beautifully maintained, and fully equipped with everything you might need and more. Nestled in the forest, it offers stunning views of the lake. The lake itself is gorgeous. We visited during a peaceful time and barely saw anyone else around. It felt like we had the whole area to ourselves. A unique experience! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature. Thank you for providing everything we needed for a perfect getaway!

The cabin itself was fantastic. Clean and accommodated our family of 6 including a pet well. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The cabin was cozy and had great finishes. We enjoyed the fire pit and provided firewood. It was a fantastic tough having a fire going when we arrived. A couple of things to consider that are not necessarily in the owners control but helpful: the water off the dock is extremely weedy and not conducive to swimming or bobber fishing for kids. We are a tad disappointed in that. The lawn area was quite mushy given the lake was high so was practically unusable this time of year. Fishing was also pretty rough but likely due to high water and time of year. Again, time of year and not due to anything the owners can control for all the above. We enjoyed the two kayaks, canoe and paddle boat provided. The grill was a little banged up but got the job done. Overall the owners have a very well kept, cozy cabin that is very charming

This home was exactly what we were hoping it would be: peaceful, quiet, secluded, and absolutely breathtaking views. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The hosts were awesome to work with, responsive and helpful. Looking forward to hopefully returning!

We loved our 3rd stay at Mia’s Black Dog Lodge. It is very clean and well-supplied. The lodge fits our needs for a small ladies retreat perfectly.

Dan and Voula were nothing but amazing hosts. They were attentive and very responsive since the second our booking was confirmed. We could not recommend these hosts and their Airbnb more! We absolutely loved their Muskoka accommodation and can’t wait to come back! Thank you both for everything and for being so amazing! :)

We stayed a weekend in May. The place is immaculate and the view is beautiful, exactly like the pictures! Because it rained intermittently and cool we didn’t get to use the outdoor amenities including the firepits. The trail towards the back of the property around the pond was washed out due to the amount of rain we have been getting. It didn’t dampen our weekend though but we look forward to coming back and explore. We enjoyed outings like brunch in Sterling and a water buffalo farm 3 minute drive from the house which had great gelato. We also walked around the main road the house was on and met a few friendly neighbours. The hot tub was great and so was sitting on the deck having a drink and taking in the beautiful scenery. The beds were comfortable and each bedroom had their own bathroom. All amenities were there including the kitchen - we cooked 2 dinners and found everything we needed. Overall a great choice if you are looking for a place to relax with a view, this is it.
