Cottage vacation rentals in Tawas City

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

Host Robert, was very responsive with any issues we had. We were in town for my sisters’ funeral, and it was extremely difficult for me. Unbeknownst to me my 3 brothers and nieces and nephews thought that they would bring food over to us because I was in a not in a good state of mind. They felt I needed people around me and needed to eat. The host Rob, was concerned with the amount of people that were there and clearly stated in the rules of limit of people and reached out to me and very kindly reminded us of the rules. I instructed my family to please go back to their Airbnb’s. I am very apolojetic for putting our host in that position. I would highly recommend this Airbnb. Very beautiful. I have been coming up to hubbard lake for 15+ years, first time staying here this is by far one of our favorite spots now. This place was beautiful, thunder bay river was perfect . Neighbors were nice area was very relaxing. House had everything and more for what we needed . Only thing id say is it was a little uncomfortable how much the cameras turned on especially with kiddos and you know somebody is watching you every few minutes cause the blue light keeps activating. Multiple people in our family pointed it out. Just something to keep in mind most people are use to one out front but this is first time ive seen them on the whole property .

Our family had the most wonderful time. This place exceeded expectations. As other reviewers have mentioned this place is very well stocked. We rode bikes to the ice cream shop, swam at the nearby beach (most days we had it to ourselves), grilled, had a campfire, enjoyed the lovely view from the porch and drove into town to go out to eat. The hosts were very welcoming and even provided a cute little frog table and chair for our little one. We would love to book again some time. Sadly, it does not come with the cute pictured pug. :)

We loved our stay at this cottage. Even though we had rainy weather were still able to enjoy our trip, we felt cozy and right at home. Host is very helpful and responsive.

Nice place , as advertised. clean , comfortable, and stocked with more than enough ! Great yard for my golden retreiver . Close to private and community beach . Walkable to everything. Porch for hanging out. Spacious kitchen and dining room for cooking and playing games. Bed was super comfy. Temperature in house was perfect. I'll tell my friends about this cozy place. We'll be back for sure! Thank you for opening your place to us.

We were looking for a peaceful retreat-like property and this filled the bill. Every morning we were greeted by colorful sunrises. Each evening we had a full view of the star-filled sky, anchored by a brilliant moon. The property is such that guests have a unobstructed full view of the lake through t the spacious glass door windows. We began our days sitting on the beach as the sun rose. Each evening we ended the day gathered around a fire which was fueled by a generous stockpile of wood provided by Mark and Company. The property has plenty of woods, enough for a mini-wilderness walk. Most everything is provided for every day needs. The modern kitchen is fully-equipped with pots, pans, dishes, silverware etc. Beds are super comfortable. We even surpised ourselves by collaborarting on assembling a jig-saw puzzle provided by the property. Thanks Mark. Great job.

This was a very peaceful place to stay on a beautiful lake. Be aware that there is no WiFi, or cable so be prepared to unplug!! Cell service is spotty also. We had a great time kayaking and fishing.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Cutie Pie Cottage! The place was charming, clean, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The cozy atmosphere made it feel like a home away from home, and the attention to detail in the decor was just perfect. A special shoutout to Marci, who was incredibly helpful and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. Her hospitality truly made our experience even better. If you’re looking for a relaxing and adorable place to stay, this is it!

We will definitely be looking to book Shawn’s place again! It was everything we needed for a nice weekend away in Tawas!

The house was a bit smaller than expected, but it still worked out great. The paddle boards, paddle boat and kayaks were so much fun! Virginia was very responsive to the minor glitch that we did have with the electricity. Very clean. The fire pit was awesome and wood was provided (Bonus!!).

Michelle’s Haven was the ideal Port Austin getaway for my husband and me. Just steps from the beach and a quick walk into town, the location couldn’t be better. Our small dogs loved the private patio, and the quiet neighborhood made for a peaceful stay. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. Our host Shelby was responsive, kind, and helpful. A special bonus was listening to vinyl records while getting ready for our family event — such a charming touch!

Our event "Sno Droft" because we were competing was stressful. Pete's Retreat just plain took that load off of our plate as did the host Leslie! Just a great location, great neighborhood and great people!

Had a great time with the kids at Edwards place. Definitely off the beaten path, 20 min drive to property driving on gravel and then dirt/sand after the gate, was a little tight between the vegetation on the path with my truck but no damage done(couple minor scratches). You'll get used to the solar power and learn to conserve, make sure to charge during the day. Amazingly beautiful property, crazy quite. We didn't see much wildlife during our stay, mostly a wide variety of birds. we rented the small boat and made it to the sandbar on Hubbard lake, if your not too familiar with boats I would rent a boat in the surrounding lakes before trying to make it by river to Hubbard lake. River is GREAT for kayak, canoe or paddle board plus you won't scare off the wildlife with the sound of the engine. Overall, we had a great time in this secluded setting and spending quality time with the kids without wifi/internet.

OMG where do I start......Loved the new retro appliances, the mermaid decor, so close to downtown Tawas and much more!

We enjoyed our long weekend at Houghton Lake in your beautiful home. It was the perfect space for 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The kitchen is fully stocked and the home was clean and had thoughtful touches throughout. Also, the sunset views are amazing! You can tell they take pride in hosting guests. We would love to come back during the summer to enjoy the lake more.

Betty’s place was perfect! They gave us a perfect peaceful quiet weekend away. Still drivable to the cute little town of Kaysville and Port Austin for things to do. We enjoyed the fire pit in the back and the house had everything that we needed for the weekend. Would definitely recommend Betty’s place for a fun getaway.

Great little spot with perfect back deck looking out onto the lake. Had all the amenities and games/kayaks you could want. Would definitely book again!

Maria’s cozy cottage was a perfect place to stay. This cozy little gem has everything you need to kick back and relax or go out hiking, kayaking or swimming at the pristine sandy beach. Located a stone’s throw away from Port Crescent State Park (Dark Sky Park) and Tip of the Thumb kayak/canoe rental, makes Maria’s cabin THE PERFECT place to stay for family or couples. The cabin seems very private even though there are neighbors on both sides. The back yard is like a private park setting with a nice fire pit, horse shoe pits and nature! I love this place and hope to stay here again.

For what me and my two golf buddies needed for a place to stay, this rental was just perfect! The host communications were first rate. I asked and they answered in a timely manner. Craig 5/19/2025
