My friend and I stayed here for a quick two-night getaway and had a great experience. The space is quiet, cozy, and super well taken care of. The view of the water from the living area is beautiful, and we spent both mornings sitting outside with coffee, and afternoons enjoying the view from the hot tub. We appreciated that the kitchen was fully stocked with all the cooking equipment we needed for nights in—and that Mary had a whole list of spots to check out for adventures out (local shops, antique spots, and really solid lobster rolls!) If you’re looking for a low-key, clean, calm place to relax, recharge, and still have easy access to town, this is a great pick. We’d absolutely come back.

We picked a really rainy week to stay in Fairfield, so the fact that we had a great vacation shows what a great base "Lil Nauti" was. The place was spotless, it is small but really well organized and easily accommodated seven of us. When the sun shone, sitting in the back garden was an absolute tonic. There is a wall of rushes at the end of the garden out of which a deer would occasionally pop and there was a rabbit who would visit from next door. Penfield Beach was an easy walk even for the more aged of our party. Jason was an exemplary host and we really appreciated the effort he'd put into creating the cottage and welcoming us to it.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this charming old house. It’s full of character, beautifully maintained, and well-equipped with everything we needed. One of the highlights was the private yard — perfect for enjoying a quiet morning coffee or relaxing under the stars in the evening. The host was exceptionally kind and helpful, always quick to respond and full of thoughtful local recommendations. Thanks to them, we discovered a few amazing winery with surprisingly good wine and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This was a peaceful and authentic experience — perfect for anyone looking to slow down and enjoy the local charm. Highly recommended!

I wanted a weekend getaway for my son’s 13th birthday that landed on Friday the 13th, I came across this cabin airbnb and decided to book and give it a try. this location is an hour away from our home and gave us that peace of paradise we were looking for. the cabin felt like home and had everything you can possibly need. I honestly wish I can give higher than a 5 star because this cabin was perfect. I’ll be booking again for a winter weekend getaway. thank you for hosting my family and I.

We loved our stay here. It was the perfect place for two of us and our dog. The home was just as described, welcoming, cosy and well equipped, and we appreciated all the local recommendations. We enjoyed local walks, the lake, and the great dog park, as well as easy access to Middletown to visit our son. Elisabeth and Daniel were fantastic hosts!

This place was wonderful. We were only there for a quick stay, and it was rainy, but that was ok because the cabin was so cute and cozy and fun. A bit of time sitting in the chairs out front in the morning with my coffee was exactly the quick weekend rejuvenation I needed. The cabin had everything we needed (and plenty of things we didn't need on this trip, but you might! I could see us playing board games or relaxing out on the back patio on a future trip.) A previous reviewer said this spot is what you expect an Airbnb to be, and that's exactly right. We picked it at first because it was convenient to a few Westchester things we needed to do, but we didn't want to drive home afterwards to CT on a summer Friday night. Spending this little bit of time in the Carmel area was genius because now we can't wait to go back there specifically for a real visit!

Jeanne's place was perfect for my trip to Guilford. Excellent location, close to the Green and to the water, quiet, peaceful. The house had everything I needed and more, Jeanne was super responsive and kind, and the bed was comfortable.

We had a lovely stay in South Salem and enjoyed exploring nearby pound ridge and new Canaan. We loved the organic snacks provided by the host and the peaceful setting.

Absolutely beautiful place inside and out! It was a quick stay as my team and I were passing through but I plan on bringing the family back up for vacation! If it was for sale I’d buy it in a heart beat!

Angela was a great host and very accommodating after an unfortunate personal event we encountered just after arriving. The cottage was very comfortable and immaculately clean. Love the keyless entry. Neighborhood is quiet and we felt extremely safe. Deer pass through the yard throughout the day and what's more beautiful than that!!! We absolutely recommend Angela as a host and would not hesitate to book again in the future.

I discovered my new wife and I have very similar tastes in vacations. simple get-a-ways with little to do but a lot of options to explore. The Sunrises from the beach, after a lovely coastal walk, was worth waking up at 4:30 am for and staying around at night for the sunsets was the chef's kiss. The Salty Tomato Pizzeria is just down the street, well within walking distance and just has everything that reminds me of the New York pizza I grew up with. There is the Dive, a seafood restaurant with delicious lobster rolls. The AirBnB is just about an hour from major attractions and the local neighbors are quite friendly. Fran was interactive and was always quick on Q&A while we were there. Hot water never ran out and the bed was super comfortable. The large fridge/freezer was plenty for any food we bought locally and their kitchen is just large enough to feed a family. All in all a good first experience for the two of us and a place we'd highly consider going to again next time.

Wow! I can’t say enough great things about Courtney’s place. It was a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of NYC. We arrived to a spotless, spacious and well stocked home. Courtney had everything you could possibly need for a beach trip or just a comfortable, relaxing stay. This is THE best appointed Airbnb I have stayed in to date. It was so nice not to worry about forgetting something and having to rush out to the nearest store. Courtney was quick to respond and provided a welcome book with great recommendations throughout the area. Beds were clean and comfy - the linens were amazing, the bathrooms were clean and well stocked with plenty of towels for 7 adults and toiletries. The washer and dryer came in handy for us! Wish we could have enjoyed the outdoor space however weather did not permit. We would love to stay here again perhaps when it’s a bit warmer :) What did I miss? Don’t hesitate to rent this place, but I’d also like to keep it a secret for myself.. thanks Courtney!

Very clean, great communication, and a perfect little lakeside getaway for a young family. Our son loved all of the books and toys, and the golf cart was a HUGE hit! Christienne was very responsive and a great host. We had a great time. Would stay again! Add the new Indian spot nearby to your restaurant list! Sooo good! And #thecafe is a must go-to for breakfast. :)

Great place to stay - easy instructions to follow, house is even more spacious than it looks in photos, and the backyard is GREAT for dogs. Would definitely recommend.

This spot was absolutely wonderful. The lake was wonderful, fireplace was a perfect touch proximity to the elephants trunk flea market was a dream and don and Roz were a pleasure to work with. Local pizza from a menu in the cabin was perfect. I could write a novel on how much we loved this place. Definitely coming back. It was a pleasure :)

This cute, comfortable and sun-filled cottage was perfect for our needs, and close to where our son lives, which was great! Everything was just as pictured, super clean, beautiful main bathroom, very well-stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and tons of storage in master bedroom. Living room was spacious and comfortable and everything was nicely decorated. We took advantage of the kayaks, and the backyard grill, and the yard is gorgeous! We walked every morning. Catherine was helpful, responsive and flexible throughout our stay, and we are already making plans to return next year!
