Otter's Retreat Bed and Breakfast Apartment for 2

JaneRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Christine and Howard were exceptional hosts. Their generosity was more than anything one could wish for . The breakfast the welcome basket, there was so much to choose from . We felt right at home and very comfortable from the start and they were both ready to help and support in anyway. Howard is a mind of information and brilliant to chat to , he was very helpful and gave us lots more of information of where to go on our walks. Thank you Christine and Howard x

Seaforth (Standard 2-bedroom apartment)

DonaldRating, 5 stars24 months ago
This is a fabulous place, and once we found it, we enjoyed every minute. The staff is helpful and made us feel welcome. The rooms are large, and staying in a castle is pretty special. My only complaint is that the description of where the unit is located is very misleading. We were told the apartment is "ON the Lews Castle grounds", which are over 600 acres. For travelers like us, completely unfamiliar with the castle, that's very confusing, and an accurate description would be more helpful and enticing. The unit is IN Lews Castle. And it's great!

We had a lovely stay in the annexe - which is actually a lovely one bedroom house. It was immaculate when we arrived and we loved the furnishings. The shower was great - double shower with rainforest shower head. The bed was really comfortable and we both slept so well. Lighthouse and lovely beach just along the road but there are glorious beaches all over the island - stunning! Highly recommend Joanne’s ‘annexe’ which was just lovely to head back to at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Thank you for letting us stay 😁

Portrona (Superior 2-bedroom apartment)

AmberRating, 5 stars11 months ago
Lews Castle was the perfect place to stay on the Isle of Lewis! The apartment unit was pristine and the General Manager stayed for our late arrival. The grounds surrounding the castle are walkable and beautiful. It is an easy walk to downtown Stornaway. This is a place we will come back to. I highly recommend this accommodation for your visit to Lewis! You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful annexe on a working croft, complete with chickens. Super new accommodation with a very well thought out design. Modern appliances with everything you’d need in the kitchen to make a full meal. Lovely walkable beaches. Enjoyed meeting hosts and their dog. We had our dog with us too which was great! Would happily stay again.

Matheson (Deluxe 2-bedroom apartment)

TobiaRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Even though the photos in the listing didn't match the place where we stayed, the apartment was beautiful, spacious, and fully-equipped. Sleeping inside a real castle was truly a unique experience. The city of Stornoway was easily accessible on foot, and the host was always responsive and available.

Cosy Croft Cottage in the beautiful Western Isles

Belle proposition que celle de John-Mathieu. Dans un emplacement idéal pour visiter Lewis, tranquille, qui nous a permis de voir une riche faune et à proximité des files de pierres dressées de Callanish. Le logement est bien équipé et cosy.

The Bunker

JulianneRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Such a beautiful opportunity to experience the quiet and authentic side of Stornaway. We loved every minute we spent at The Bunker! The views were spectacular and the sunrises/sunsets ever changing. The kitchen was sprinkled with locally baked treats and even homemade jam for us to enjoy. It was such a delight. The only drawback, for me personally, is how I move forward with no warming towel rack in my life!! I can’t unfeel the delightfulness of warmed clothes on a chilly morning. They are not common in the states. On a scale of one to ten, The Bunker was easily a 72 ;).

Taigh Chaluman, Croft House Breasclete/Callanish

AdamRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great little spot, having a photo of the place was key to finding it as Google didn’t have the right location on the street 🤣🤣. Warm, peaceful place. We were not used to the short nights though only dark from 11pm till 4:30am 🤣🤣. Was perfect for the four adults & 2 kids and perfectly located to explore every corner of Lewis & Harris. Iain & Fiona had the cutest little basket of Scottish goodies for us to try. Thank you we had a fantastic stay.

Restored croft cottage. 5 minutes from Reef Beach

JudyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a great stay at the house with all the equipment and facilities anyone could need. The location was brilliant for us, and Richard's helpful tips and advice about local eateries, shops etc were very welcome. He had provided a delicious and very generous treat in the refrigerator on arrival, which not only did we really appreciate, but it meant we sought out the local products to take back as gifts! Many thanks Richard

Modern House with a view

SandraRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The pictures in the profile didn’t do justice to this amazing home from home. Plenty of room, the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the view seeing several eagles and an owl from the property. We hope we have the opportunity to stay again sometime.

Taigh Lemon

This was a perfect home, away from home. The décor, the colour schemes and the attention to detail were immaculate. The house has all the home comforts you need .. and much much more. The icing on the cake was the lovely cat, Simba, who started purring the moment we met. It was as if we were some long lost friends, meeting again. Gillain's place has the warmth and comfort which cannot be put into words. You just have to experience it! we just did, and will cherish it forever. Thank you Gillian

Tigh Gagan (Self Catering)

AndrewRating, 5 stars9 months ago
We had a fantastic stay at Margaret Ann’s lovely property in Lionel. We were welcomed with fresh flowers, biscuits and chocolates on arrival which was a lovely touch. Tigh Gagan is a great base for exploring the island and was a home from home, there was lots of literature on what to do. Margaret Ann was a great host contacting us to ensure everything was well and provided us with clear directions to the house. I would highly recommend Tigh Gagan.
