This is a stunning modern home with beautiful views and total privacy. So much to do an explore in the area but my wife and I ended up maybe enjoying our time at the air bnb the most. Jesse's place was lovely! We were in town for a wedding, and added on a couple extra nights in Petaluma. The place was walking distance from lots of coffee shops and cute restaurants, but still felt like a peaceful and quiet oasis.

Tuscan Wine Country Villa with Pool sleeps 6
We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Maurine and the hosts of this AirBNB! This house is truly a gem and exceeded our expectations! We loved everything about this property- from the comfortable, homey setting to the beautiful landscaping and outdoor spaces. Directions and communication were clear and guest friendly. On behalf of the 5 of us, on our girls' getaway, we thank you all wholeheartedly and are already planning on returning next April! Thank you for sharing this truly special home with us. It was a perfect 5 star get-away from beginning to end!

We were two couples from the Bay Area. It was perfect for the four of us. Beautifully decorated, comfortable furniture and comfortable beds. Plenty of drawer space in bedrooms and closets for our cloths and things. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely outdoor space. Laura was very available for any questions. Check in and check out were very easy. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this place!

2 bedroom Apartment with Balcony Downtown Sonoma
We really enjoyed our several days in Sonoma at this property. The rental was less than a block away from shopping and restaurants, and the town center. It was very well furnished, clean and comfy. The two bedrooms and two baths were both very spacious, perfect for two couples. The living area and kitchen were great, and we appreciated the coffee pods and Keurig. We were in the upstairs unit. Parking was simple in the back, right by the stairs. Of course, we were very close to the Sonoma wineries and Napa was a short and easy drive away. In summary, this rental was excellent and I would recommend it without reservation.

Quiet Wine County Retreat with Bocce and Hot tub!
Virginia and Rita’s place was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect sanctuary for our stay in Napa with our family. Our baby and dog loved the backyard!

Sue was great and proactive in her communication which made our stay very easy. We were able to find the place easy thanks to her instructions and she showed flexibility throughout as well.

Casa Relaxo: Mt top getaway with beautiful views
Casa Relaxo is the perfect mountain getaway in the midst of wine country. We spent our days visiting vineyards and tasting wine and our nights barbecuing and enjoying the wines we had purchased during the day under the stars. The unit is a secluded, peaceful cabin that I hope I’ll have the good fortune to return to one day.

Luxury home, hot tub/spa pool, walk to restaurants
Linda’s home in Glen Ellen was perfect! We were minutes from some great wineries and walking distance into town (restaurants, grocery store, bar, etc). The house is so inviting, we spent time reading, relaxing, and enjoying the backyard. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Sonoma New Modern Home w/ Secret Garden
As a corporate meeting planner, I found Audrey to be very organized, thorough in our video call and very prepared when it comes to hosting guests in a vacation home. There was literally everything we needed to stay and be self-sufficient at the property. Everything was very clearly labeled, and we appreciated the warm hospitality with the delicious bottle of wine left for the four of us. The home is appropriately decorated with furnishings and artwork that Audrey has personally collected around the world. The Dyson fans were a great addition to each guest room. We only wish we could have stayed longer than four nights. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone coming to Sonoma and seeking a relaxing stay with quick access to the Sonoma square shopping and restaurants.

Windows on the Valley
the house is lovely, hot tub and game room are top notch! I think the welcome packet got lost between a previous guest and our stay, but Raemy answered all questions very quickly. Views are truly amazing!

*Heated* Swimming Pool Retreat Near Sonoma Square
We had a great stay at this spacious and well-equipped home in Sonoma! The house had everything we needed, and the outdoor space was a definite highlight—clean, warm pool and a beautiful area to relax in. Check-in was super easy, and the door code worked without any issues. The location was perfect for our trip—we used a local driving service to take us to wineries in Napa, which worked out really well. A few small things to note: the beds weren’t the most comfortable, and one of the twin beds was pretty squeaky. We also would’ve appreciated more towels since there were four of us. The en-suite shower could use some attention—it’s older and came across a bit dingy. Overall, it was a solid stay and we’d definitely consider coming back!

Wine Country Nest • Hot Tub Retreat • Sonoma
Thanks Heather for another great family vacation. We really enjoy your home and look forward to coming back

Happy House Getaway - Pool, Hot Tub & Wine Country
We really enjoyed our stay at the Happy House! The pool was large and fantastic, perfect for relaxing. The kitchen was beautiful and very well stocked with everything we needed. The house was spotless, and the neighborhood felt quiet and safe. Both the garden and front yard were lovely, and the pool area was especially private thanks to the high fence. Brook was incredibly friendly, always checked in to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay, and promptly answered all our questions. She was very helpful throughout our visit. Highly recommend!

Vacation Rental near Sonoma Plaza and wineries
Troy was accommodating and helpful. The place is really lovely and comfortable. It was really a pleasure to stay in a beautiful home in gorgeous surroundings. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Mountain top, wine country escape
We can’t say enough good things about this home and surrounding land. Tucked up high in the Santa Rosa foothills you feel miles away from it all, just what we were looking for. With all the stone work and views down into the valley, it was reminiscent of a hill town in Tuscany. Beautiful home, well designed to inspire relaxation… loved the vinyl records. Kitchen had everything we needed. Host’s were fantastic with communication when we had questions. Perfect.

Your guide to Sonoma
All About Sonoma
About an hour northeast of San Francisco in the heart of Sonoma Valley, the wine country town of Sonoma is one of the oldest settlements in Northern California, the birthplace of the state flag, and home to the only Mission established after Mexico gained independence from Spain. The town’s historic plaza is a microcosm of the region, filled with wine bars, art galleries, specialty housewares stores, and restaurants dishing up the latest in California cuisine. The Tuesday night farmers’ market draws locals to City Hall to stock up on fruits and vegetables from surrounding farms, and the downtown cheese shop has been selling hunks of its famous Monterey Jack since 1931. To take your dairy worship to the next level, hop on the California Cheese Trail, which runs through town and connects to nearly 30 farms and creameries throughout the state.
On the outskirts of town, you’ll find a handful of light-commitment hiking trails perfect for stretching your legs between meals, including the leisurely Sonoma Overlook Trail, former Indigenous hunting grounds with scenic views of the valley and the Mayacamas Mountains in the distance. As the gateway to Sonoma County, the town is also a prime launching pad to whale watching in Bodega Bay, paddling the Russian River, and exploring the more than 400 wineries in the region.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Sonoma
Sonoma experiences a Mediterranean climate, where temperatures rarely drop below freezing during the rainy winters, and summers are warm with cool coastal breezes. Summer boasts some of the best weather for hiking, biking, swimming, and other outdoor activities. Sonoma vacation rentals are popular from May through October, especially in the fall months of September and October during the grape harvest. Towards the end of winter, mustard flowers blanket the valleys and dormant vineyards in vibrant shades of yellow. Wildflowers in various shades of red, purple, orange, and pink adorn Sonoma’s lush parks in the spring.
Top things to do in Sonoma
Sonoma Botanical Garden
The Sonoma Botanical Garden is a 25-acre gem, home to one of North America’s most extensive collections of temperate-climate, wild plants from Asia as well as plants native to California. The garden offers stunning displays of seasonal flowers and extensive collections of rare and endangered plants. Highlights include camellias, magnolias, roses, maples, rhododendrons, lilies, and more.
Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve
A little over an hour away, Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve is one of the most accessible redwood groves in California. Spread out over 800 acres, the reserve boasts a variety of hikes of varying difficulty. The Colonel Armstrong Tree is the oldest tree, thought to be around 1,400 years old, and is located less than a mile from the entrance. Bicycling paths, horseback riding, and picnic areas are all available.
Sonoma Plaza
This city’s charming eight-acre central square is the thumping heart of Sonoma, packed with elegant restaurants, contemporary art galleries, and some of the region’s most significant historical landmarks. Follow the winding alleyways past fashion boutiques and wine bars, and pay a visit to Mission Sonoma, the northernmost of California’s 21 missions, built in 1823. Close by, you’ll find the Bear Flag Monument, a bronze sculpture commemorating California’s first armed insurrection against the Mexican government in 1846.
