The food, transportation, etc. were very kind, and we had a very pleasant time. The souvenir I received was a choice from a local, and it was nice to continue to be the host.I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

Traditional tatami Japanese style

YuechenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The Host and the room are very nice, and the yard is beautiful.I'm so happy to experience a traditional Japanese room. The check-in information is like handwritten, very thoughtful, and there is a name tag at the door.I tasted the fruit tea made by the hostess☺️ and she proactively asked if she needed to send me to the station the next day.The house is under another smaller entrance downhill from Koizumi Shrine, and the surroundings are quiet. It was raining on the way there. At first, I walked to the main entrance of the shrine (actually, I could just walk through the shrine), but I met a very kind grandfather who searched the map and sent me to the door. I was really lucky.I came across a good restaurant nearby.

Very peaceful place to stay. Do not visit if you don't have a car. Keiko was a wonderful host providing us with an authentic Japanese breakfast, which at times was a bit much but very tasty indeed. Do not visit if you enjoy city life because this is very far away from any such business.

Japanese-style charm with convenienttransportation

JusticeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This townhome was ideal for our group of 7 traveling around the Kansai region. The open common area gave us plenty of space to gather and plan our daily adventures to Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, and throughout Osaka. The location couldn’t have been better - being right next to the main train station made all our day trips incredibly convenient and saved us so much time getting around. The property itself was well-maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only minor note is that it can get a bit noisy at night due to the central location, but it’s really not bad and the convenience of being so close to transportation far outweighs this small consideration. Would definitely recommend this place to other groups looking for a well-located base to explore Osaka and the surrounding areas. The host was great and the space worked perfectly for our needs!

Overlooking the Yoshino River! You can enjoy sunset and BBQ in the garden. A private rental old house with just one group at a time!

千里Rating, 5 stars6 days ago
It was a very nice old house that felt nostalgic, like the game "Boku no Natsukyuu" that was popular in the past! There is a veranda, a BBQ in the garden, and a spacious living room. It was a very relaxing place to stay for a Japanese person, and my mind was reset. There are all the appliances and kitchen utensils, and the bedroom on the 2nd floor is also clean. Personally, I would have been very happy if the bathroom had a bathtub, but the room was so nice that I didn't mind. (Because it was sweaty in June and the surrounding hot spring facilities closed at 18: 00) Three things to keep in mind for those who are reading this review. ① You cannot drive directly to the front entrance. The parking lot is far away, so you can't park next to it. ② You will need to walk a little from the parking lot to the inn, and you will need to go up the hill, so if you have a lot of luggage, you will need to divide it into multiple trips. ③ The stairs to the 2nd floor have a steep angle with high steps, which is unique to old private houses, so please be careful if you have weak legs. I would like to visit again the next time I go to Yoshino.

We were traveling with 2 couples and had a car. After 2 weeks of busy cities and small guesthouses, we wanted a home we could cook dinner, linger at the dinner table, sit outside and play board games. We found that surprisingly hard to find in Japan. This home was modern, comfortable and has it all to hang out as a family or small group of friends. It’s on a busy road but you don’t hear it at all. But it did let us sit outside and play mellow music and enjoy the evenings. Osam is a host in an old school way, checking in regularly to make sure you are enjoying yourself and to offer assistance. The location is relatively close to Nara Park, which is worth a day. It’s a long 1 hour drive to either Kyoto or Osaka, but we spent half days at both and were grateful to go “home” to Osam’s place at the end of the day. Worth staying 3-4 nights to relax and explore this part of Japan.
