和楽庵【Twin】100 Year old Machiya Guest House (3 pax)

Very, very satisfied experience with one stay!I finally stayed in my dream townhouse. This trip to Kyoto was arranged because I got a two-day homestay. It didn't disappoint me at all!Great location, about 200 meters from the door you can take 203.204, it is easy to go to Kinkakuji Temple, Kiyomizu Temple and the business district!I can only stay in Kyoto for two days, so the time is very tight, I left early and came back late, I didn't have time to enjoy this house, it's a work of art! When it's the red maple season, I must come to Kyoto again and I must get that room at that time!

The boss is super nice, he took the initiative to help us move our luggage, and even lent us a flashlight and a stick when we went to climb Mount Daji at night. It is very convenient to visit the famous places. When you come out, you will see Kuya Shibashi (Uji Bridge). There is also Kumiko chair along the Uji River.

Experience life in a traditional Kyoto house

ShrutiRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Kenji-san is truly a superhost. He not only received my luggage in advance but also took it upstairs to my room before my arrival. I checked in around 9 and he still gave me instructions and recommendations on where I could go the next 2 days. He is always available to help, whatever it may be. The house itself is beautiful and takes you back in time. There is a certain peace in being in the room. I had a great stay. I unfortunately had it cut it short by one night due to change of plans. I would definitely stay here again.

[Stay at a 100-year-old traditional inn] Private room for 1-2

OliviaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My partner and I stayed here at the beginning of June 2025. We were visiting from Canada for the first time. This airbnb was exactly what we were looking for. We booked the private room for 1-2 people, with the traditional tatami beds. On the main floor is a cafe, with lovely coffee, drinks and food. The staff members were extremely helpful and polite throughout our stay, making it extremely enjoyable. The location was ideal, being walking distance or a short train ride away from major landmarks and attractions. The air bnb was extremely clean. It can be noted that there is an accommodation tax that is required for each tourist that is to be paid in cash as well as a towel rental fee. Overall, I would recommend this air bnb to anyone planning a stay in Kyoto.
