Places to stay in Tonasket

Places to stay in Tonasket
Welcome to our 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage in Tonasket that shares 1 acre with our home, an easy drive off the highway, and 5 minute walk into town. We are surrounded by orchards and the Okanogan River, and home to chickens and goats in a fenced pasture, as well as 2 small dogs and a cat. You will hear rural sounds of farmers, some highway noise, and the peace of nature on the river. Upon your arrival you will find a key with instructions, a fully stocked kitchen, coffee, and teas to enjoy.
This is a one-bedroom, one bathroom space. The kitchen is open to the living area, which contains a foldout single bed, as well as a loveseat couch. The bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, and closet. The front door opens onto a deck with table and chairs where you can enjoy eating and sitting with the river noise murmuring in the background. We will greet you when you arrive and then stay out of your way if you desire. You will see us walking back and forth between our house and the animal pasture on the other side of the cottage, to collect eggs, feed our goats, and take care of daily chores.
The cottage is on a lane just off the highway with 4 other homes. Our home is the last one on the lane; the cottage is the 4th house. There is a Mexican restaurant across the highway from our lane, as well as a grocery store. The river view makes the property special, as well as the wild life the river and surrounding area brings.
  • An amazing little getaway! A lovely little cottage, and the hosts were attentive, thoughtful, generous - there were fresh eggs, and homemade bread waiting for us when we arrived. The place was clean and had everything we needed, including kitchen supplies and extra pillows and blankets. Perfect little weekend getaway with nice view of the river! Would highly recommend!

  • This is a great little space near Tonasket! Mindy was a hospitable host and responded to us quickly. We loved the morning view and how quiet the place is. The space is nice and clean. The furniture is comfortable. We didn't have a chance to use the firepit but look forward to doing so next time that we stay here!

  • A really great place for my one night stay. The apartment is much bigger than expected, with a small, but cozy bed and a really great sofa in the living room. The hunting decor inside was great, it felt like being in the wildness. Thanks so much.

  • Mindy's place was so quaint and quiet. Such a great spot for travellers coming or going from the Canadian border for visits.

  • This is great country livin’ and just what I was looking for. Town is close enough, and the place is a little bigger than I thought it would be. So pleasant to look out and see the countryside... and the stars at night!

  • The place was just what I needed for my one night stay in Tonasket. Mindy was a great host and the decor made this Alaska girl feel at home :) I hope I can book this place the next time I am in that area.

Peaceful and secluded. It's time to unwind and unplug in this two bedroom home with sweeping mountain views and a northern light show located on the Okanogan Historical Loop (near Chesaw). The lack of light pollution allows you to enjoy the starry skies while sitting on the wrap around porch or propped-up on pillows in either bedroom. Washer /Dryer, full bath and all modern amenities included. Mudroom and dogbed ready for your four legged friend.
Just across the border from the Canadian Mediterranean, vineyards to explore for daytrips. One mile out of historical Chesaw - home of the world famous 4th of July Rodeo. Also just 15 minutes from the Sitzmark ski area and the Highlands SnoPark. The Beaver Lake rope swing is a popular local attraction sure to please your children and cool you off at the end of a summer day.
The historical city of Molson is a full day's adventure, ice fishing competitions in the winter and a museum that you won't soon forget. If the Chesaw Tavern isn't enough, then a quick jaunt to the quaint city of Republic will provide more dining choices as well as the opportunity to dig for fossils at StoneRose.
  • The Northern Lights came out while we were there which was an unexpected bonus. The cabin is tucked back in the Okanogan Highlands which is hidden gem in the state. There is much that we enjoy in the area- enjoying a visit to Molson, or taking in the scenery on a drive down Toroda Creek to the Kettle River, both Tonasket or Oroville are nice little towns and the Chesaw Tavern is just down the road.

  • Very clean, efficient and comfortable space. Night time sky is spectacular! Outstanding book collection and some very thoughtful touches. I only wish we could've stayed longer and I can't wait to come back.

  • We’ve stayed multiple times now and each time we are never disappointed. Beautiful area and great hospitality.

  • Great place with a great host!

    Madison2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This little home is the perfect place if you are looking for a restful and rejuvenating retreat. It was very quiet and the surroundings were gorgeous. Very clean and Diana was very hospitable to us! Already talking about staying here again!

    Taylor2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve stayed here twice now and loved it! About 2 feet of snow and the walkway to both buildings was shoveled. Warm and cozy when we arrived.

    Christina2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • My second time here and can’t wait to stay again. This is a remote hidden gem of an AirBnb. Perfectly outfitted small mountain home with wonderful views on a beautiful piece of property!

    Jeff2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great remote location and perfect for what we were looking for. It snowed before and while we were there. So we would recommend that you have 4x4 to get up the hill on the road. The snow was fine but the ice made it questionable even in 4WD. As for the out-cabin, our teenager stayed in it and LOVED having his own space. The main house has a TV and DVD player in the bedroom which was a nice surprise. The house is loaded with lots of extra items to use if needed. A great place without cell coverage so a nice disconnect from technology! We will definitely return!!!!

    Amy2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you book this place, you won’t regret it! Not only is it beautiful, but so peaceful too! The hot tub while it was snowing was amazing, and we would definitely recommend the Treasure Hunt. The cottage was clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The cookies and sparkling cider were also a very nice touch. All in all, we will be back!

  • This little cottage was just what we hoped for and then some. When we arrived there waiting for us was a bottle of sparkling cider, cookies, candies and a personal little note left for us that felt so special. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and the view from it. This was a great peaceful getaway. We have already recommended it to friends.

  • Thanks so much to Stewart and Dorthy. Staying in this Air B & B was such a pleasure. They were very gracious and considerate hosts and provided extras, like snacks when we arrived and fresh peaches from the yard. The suite was equipped with everything we needed and the location was excellent; it was just a quick twenty minute walk to downtown and about a 7 minute walk to a beautiful beach. Everything was perfect! Thanks from Marcia and Gary

    Marcia2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This little spot was in a great location (we were visiting friends at Hayne's Point), spotless, with lovely little touches like fresh flowers from Dorothy's beautiful garden and nibblies for hungry travelers. The kitchen had everything one would find in their own home. It was great to return to a lovely and cool spot after a hot day at the lake!! Highly recommended.

    Andrea2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean comfortable accommodations in an ideal location

    Elaine2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stewart and Dorothy were amazing hosts even from the pre-booking stage. They were thorough in answering our questions, giving directions, and general communication leading up to the trip. I made this booking for my mom and her equally finicky sister, and they were both so happy with the accommodations, as it was more than they expected. They arrived later than anticipated due to my aunt's delayed flight, and Stewart warmly welcomed them, went over what was in town, and patiently answered their questions. The Welcome Basket and the milk and butter in the fridge were a thoughtful provision. The furniture was comfortable and the space was perfect for two. Dorothy keeps a beautiful garden, they only wished they had had more time to enjoy the flowers (and the home)! The entire suite was designed with the comfort and needs of the guests in mind, all the way down to the dishes and decorative touches. Definitely recommend this suite, and Stewart and Dorothy as five star hosts!

    Krissy2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • STEWART'S PLACE WAS REALLY GOOD FOR A SHORT STAY. STEWART AND HIS WIFE DOROTHY WERE VERY WELCOMING. THEY PROVIDED US WITH ALL WE NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SUITE AND SAID THEY WERE AVAILABLE IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING. THE SUITE WAS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THERE WERE SOME NICE TOUCHES SUCH AS A WELCOMING BASKET AND SOME BEAUTIFUL FRESH FLOWERS. THE OTHER REALLY GOOD THING WAS THE AIR CONDITIONING. IT MADE OUR STAY VERY COMFORTABLE WHEN THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 33C! WE WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SUITE TO ANYONE WANTING A RELAXING STAY IN OSOYOOS.

Located just 2 1/2 miles from Highway 97 on mostly paved roads in the Okanogan Highlands, our land overlooks the Okanogan River valley, with 180 degree view of the many mountain peaks of the northern Cascades from Conconully to the south to well into Canada to the north. Our 16' tipi has a wooden floor inside to keep you off the ground, and has room for at least four sleeping bags plus your gear.
Your host, Two Eagles, is a Hippie elder, a priest for Mother Earth, an astrologer, and a naturist. He lived in tipis year around in this area for twenty years, and is well versed in tipi lore.
We are located next to state land, and very close to the Okanogan National Forest, and a Big Horned Sheep protected area. Several recreational lakes with boating, fishing and swimming are located nearby. A winery with live weekly entertainment is located less than two miles down the road. Several excellent hiking trails are nearby.
  • I can’t imagine a better place to rest my head, warm with a fire crackling in the wood stove, stars through the smoke flaps, and dizzying millions in the sky, a sparkling snow-capped mountain range in sight, quails making their racket in the morning, coyotes singing at night, a great horned owl before dawn, cliffs, boulders and a wonderful host. The 4 nights I stayed at Eagle’s Nest felt like home the way I dream of home to be.

    Jennie2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The tipi was cozy and clean and held up well in a heavy rain. Two Eagles is a kind and generous host who made us feel welcome while also giving us our space and privacy. He also has a wealth of knowledge about the area. The location is a great jumping off point for adventures throughout Okanogan country, and the setting of Two Eagle's place is quite beautiful itself. Great country for hiking, wandering, and contemplating nature.

    Sam2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Two Eagles welcomed me, a single woman traveling alone, with kindness and attentiveness. I slept so well in the clean, beautiful tipi which overlooks rocky mountains and surrounding topography, and felt like I was in protective hands while also left to do my own thing. As I was traveling without camping gear, he made me a bed inside the tipi with warm blankets and a lantern - a delight on my road trip that I won't forget. He is a cool, kind, and earthy host, who is deeply involved with back to the land movement stuff in the surrounding communities. He has a wealth of knowledge and stories that made the surrounding hills and towns come alive for me and made me want to stay longer and explore more deeply.. I enjoyed our nice chat over morning coffee, raspberry picking in the garden, and bonus: wifi in the outdoor kitchen. Would totally recommend staying here, really good vibes and waking up in the tipi was enchanted.

    Courtney2019-08-26T00:00:00Z

  • My husband and I had a delightful stay at Bryan and Colleen's cozy mountain cabin. It was immaculately clean and very well appointed with everything we needed plus more. The peaceful setting is lovely and B and C are thoughtful, warm and caring hosts. We attended the Okanogan Family Faire and this was such a sweet, comfortable sanctuary to return to after enjoying the fair-- a 20-minute drive away. They also have some nicely placed RV spots available. We would give it 6 stars if we could!

Country style home with wrap around porch with beautiful mountains view. A place to unwind from the daily routines, relax and enjoy the quiet and beautiful mountain views and sunset. At night enjoy a sky full of stars and beautiful moon.
Enjoy a continental style breakfast served in the main home. Cinnamon rolls, caramel pecan rolls muffins, scones fresh from the bakery. Also we will serve fresh local fruits (seasonal). These are some of the delights that my quests can enjoy during their stay.
There is hiking opportunities to the near by mountains. Crawfish Lake is about 10 miles away, an ideal place for fishing and other water sports. In the winter months snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Hunters are welcome during hunting season
  • Linda is a gracious hostess and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. She opens her home and welcomes you into her way of life for a rare opportunity to experience living on the ranch. You will want to plan a return visit.

    David &Amp; Donna2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Linda is a caring hostess with deep knowledge of and experience with ranching. Her home is spotless, well stocked, and nestled in the beautiful hills and meadows above Tunk Valley. The kicker? Her homemade cinnamon rolls are THE BEST.

    Patricia2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place was the best experience we have ever had with AirBNB. Her ranch home is clean and comfortable, tucked into a small valley with beautiful views extending to Canada on a clear day. She greeted us warmly, and her cooking and baking is out-of-this-world. If she offers, we highly recommend taking her up on a home-prepared dinner during your stay. There's lots to do in the Tunk valley if you like the out-of-doors and exploring. Linda was so kind and engaging you'll leave wanting to come back to visit!

    Christine2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place is a great place to stay. She is so sweet and kind, and her place was very neat and tidy. Wonderful place to stay!

    Shana2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a special place. Linda made us cinnamon rolls and honestly the best I have ever had. I wish we could have stayed for days but we were just traveling through. Waking up and seeing the snow tipped mountains on this beautiful quiet mountaintop was spectacular. I have never seen such a clean home and wish that Linda was my Aunt because I would probably never leave. She was so kind to our dogs. The brand new bed was beyond comfortable. I couldn't say enough kind things about Linda and her hospitality. Your rooms are downstairs with their own private entrance and bathrooms. We had as much privacy as we wanted. I cannot say enough great things about our visit there and we plan to stay there on our next trip through the area.

    Tammy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Linda is a great host, and her house is in a beautiful location atop a mountain. It's not the quickest place to get to, but this is rural Eastern Washington, so enjoy the ride.

  • Thank you so much for hosting my family at your place. It was so amazing and we really enjoyed our stay there:)

    Thea2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place is 25 minutes out from the highway and up in the hills and well worth the drive. The silence is so peaceful and Linda is a special host. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are large from the private entrance. Linda bakes like no other so breakfast is truly amazing. Thank you Linda for opening your house and your kindness to us!

  • Our stay here lasted 12 weeks. Everything from checkin to checkout was easy and fantastic. The hosts were amazing people who were helpful when needed. The space has everything needed for a comfortable stay. We would most certainly recommend this place to anyone that is looking or passing through.

  • Tom and Cecelia are wonderful hosts. We have stayed at their place each winter for the last three years, and we will always go back. They take care to be sure that we have everything we need, and that the home is warm and cozy. It's a pleasure to spend time away from the hustle and bustle at their quiet, comfy space. The road can be a little tricky in winter months, so all-wheel drive is recommended.

    Gina2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely home and property, and Thomas was very helpful and understanding when my puppy needed to see the vet the first evening when we arrived. Thanks Thomas!

  • The cabin is everything other reviews claim it to be: clean, comfortable, and quiet. Tom was a delightful host, who greeted us at the gate and made sure we were taken care of. Great experience!

  • A little off the beaten path and well worth the drive. If you wanted a get away to finally write your novel this might be the place. it is beautiful inside and out and has so many little touches that make it special. We cooked several meals in kitchen and there was everything we need to do so, and outside was a brand new bbq that we used to to make some nice dinners in the fully fenced backyard. There is a little patio with seating and also and delightful porch. Surrounded with beautiful flowers and a nice lawn, the yard was perfect for our little dogs was a great place to enjoy the outdoors set up for young kids and older folk alike. The bed was comfortable, the linens were nice, and the bathroom was of a good size with plenty of hot water and supplies. We were able to use the wifi with no problems which was important since At&t does not have very good coverage in the area. I set my cell phone up to be able to make cell calls via wifi. There is Direct TV available with lots of channels and we watched a couple of movies during our stay. The hardest part was having to leave. Tom and Cecelia are wonderful and attentive hosts, who give you plenty of space and privacy to enjoy your stay.

    Johnni2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a little of the beaten path but worth the effort. The home is comfortable in every way and has everything you need to cook meals and relax. The area has many sites to visit. We spent a day in Osoyoos, BC tasting wines and another relaxing on Lost lake. Thomas went out of his way to welcome us and provided everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. He even shared some peaches...delicious. Would love to stay again.

COVID19 VIRUS: STAY SAFER IN PRIVATE COTTAGE! SELF-ISOLATE IN COMFORT. 1BR Pine Cone Cottage is a bit of wild west and a dash of modern technology shoehorned into a wee depression-era cottage in beautiful north central Washington State. (West half of duplex, separate entrances at opposite ends of building.) Small but comfy, with wifi and smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix), this is a NW history lover's ideal base camp. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. No pets.
Pine Cone is one of my Kokanee Cottages -- the west half of what may be the world's smallest duplex. Even though it is a wee one-bedroom unit, it has everything you need to make your stay in the country a pleasure. Enjoy a full kitchen (albeit with no counter space) with a microwave, blender, crockpot, coffee maker, and espresso machine. Kick back with wifi, HD SmartTV, Blue-ray player and DVDs, and a library of classic western fiction (Louis L'Amour, Zane Grey), historical non-fiction, and modern suspense thrillers while lounging on the comfy leather couch and antique rocking chair. A classic wireframe bistro set let’s you dine in style. The antique double brass bed with 12-inch memory foam mattress and cotton sheets and quilts promises a great night's sleep. Gorgeous limited edition and vintage nature art prints line the walls. Not quite a man cave (although the beer signs in the kitchen make an effort), the cowboys and indians décor leans toward the masculine yet still has plenty of appeal for womenfolk. My son convinced me to hang on to the vintage blue bathroom fixtures, which are set off by my finest paint-by-number pictures (to keep the cottage humble). Check out my latest collection -- vintage cedar souvenir boxes.
Geralyne’s vacation home is located in Okanogan, Washington, United States. The City of Okanogan (the county seat but in all respects a small town) is centrally located in Okanogan Valley in north central Washington, putting you right in the middle of a great area to explore and enjoy. The city pool and Okanogan River are two blocks away; Salmon Creek even closer. The city also boasts a historical museum and farmers market. A nice grocery store is just two blocks north of the cottages. The best fries on the planet are served at The Club tavern, within walking distance. (Their burgers and steaks are awesome, too.) The best breakfasts are at the Stockyard Cafe, a local haunt that is off the tourist track, and Smallwoods (2 miles south), where you can also buy organic produce and artisanal foods (they smoke their own meats in the summer, try their Porker). The Breadline Cafe 4 miles north in Omak, check out their Saturday brunch. Also in Omak is Valley Lanes, if you're inclined to go bowling, and who wouldn't be? Beautiful Omak Lake is a mere 9 miles away, a hidden gem on the Colville Reservation and thus far totally undeveloped except for outhouses at the gorgeous beach nestled between granite cliffs that are mysteriously not crawling with climbers practicing for El Capitan. Balance Rock is 3 miles farther along the lake (a very short hike from the road), and if fishing is your thing, the lake is teeming with Lahontan cutthroat. The north central area of Washington state is still a bit of a mystery for many coasties, so nip on over and see what they haven't discovered yet. Come over one spectacular mountain pass and go back over another. Regional attractions are all easy day trips by car -- no more than 2 hours each way. Double back or see more by making loop trips. Visit Bavarian-style Leavenworth, the Old West town of Winthrop, or the ghost town of Molson. Enjoy the beaches of Chelan or Penticton, B.C. Admire back road mountain and desert scenery (don't miss Grand Coulee) or lush orchards and vineyards (Canada's top wine-growing region starts at the border, my favorite winery is Blasted Church just south of Penticton). Stop to look at wildlife and take photos of a million postcard views. Hike, hunt for antiques, fossils, gold; go swimming, boating, fishing. Taste the local produce in season, or eat out at wonderful restaurants, cafes, and pubs. Rodeos add excitement in summer – the Omak Stampede with its famous Suicide Race is just 4 miles from the cottage! My favorite used/new bookstore (Daydream Books) is at the north end of town (the little house with the lions out front). It's a great area to do a great many things, or even better, maybe, do absolutely nothing.
  • I work at a thrift shop and appreciated the fun and funky way of decorating with curiosities and collectibles. The host's easygoing, thoughtful, and humorous personality come through in this and her communication and thorough info book. The theme of the Pinecone Cottage is Cowboys, Indians, and , perhaps, beer. Lots of games, dvds, cookware, good lighting, and an interesting collection of thematic books have packed as much fun and options into this place as it can hold. Kudos.

    Jordan2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed this cool little space. It fit our needs for a one night stay well. Will definitely consider staying here again for our next trip to Oakanagan!

    Ryan2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Pine Cone Cottage is absolutely adorable! So comfy & cozy on a cold Thanksgiving night. Well stocked with anything you could possibly need. The bed is amazingly comfortable. Geralyne is very helpful, has great local knowledge & replies quickly to any questions. I definitely want to return when I can stay longer.

    Lisa2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very cozy. Very well priced compared to other options in the area.

    Robert2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • This Okanogan trip was made for a few days of work in the area. The reservation and check-in were superb and Geralyne obviously took extra effort to ensure more than adequate amenities were available. Given the cold outside temperatures, my stay was particularly warm and cozy. I would certainly stay again on the next visit.

    Marc2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay with Geralyne, and this time I had the pleasure of chatting with her. She puts so much care and joy into these cottages. I hope to be back again soon—this is a great find in a beautiful part of the state.

    Carissa2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean, best place to stay in Okanogan.

    Monika2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay so very much in the Pine Cone cabin. It is obvious the owner has put so much thought, care, and consideration into the touches of this cottage. The housekeeping is exceptional and the place is immaculate. Although the space is quite small, it is well arranged, has just about every amenity you could need, offers an incredibly comfortable bed, very interesting artifacts around the space, and comes with the most top-notch hospitality you can imagine (although she’s not always on-site)! We were fortunate enough to meet Geralyne, and were very blessed by her kindness and generosity. The location of these cottages is ideal as well. It’s right there smack dab in the center of the regions of Winthrop, Chelan, and even the border of Canada! Plus Okanogan and Omak are pretty darn interesting themselves! The outdoor opportunities are pretty unless along the Columbia River and in the nearby mountains. We just had an absolute blast during our stay here. Looking forward to going back to that cozy little cabin in the middle of winter just to get away…

The place is FILLED with everything you need for a trip away from towels and toiletrie items to spices and pots and pans, Laura's place has it all. The Sage is the place to come if you want to escape from the city, as it is located about half an hour from the town of Tonasket. You will enjoy the view of the mountains and nature as you drive up to the Sage. The home was meant to enjoy nature and off grid living with solar and wind power. With this said you will or may see bugs, snakes, bears, and other wildlife in the area. We truly enjoy everything about the Sage and keep it as natural as we can for others to enjoy as well.
If you enjoy the whisper of wind in the pine trees. If you have the desire to enjoy a night full of stars. If you have the time to slip away from the hustle of the city. If you wish you could listen to the silence of the frogs and crickets singing you to sleep. If you have the time it will be your pleasure to come stay at our alternative wind/sun powered earth home and naturally kept property in Washington State. The spring bloom may be your choice or maybe you would like to choose spending the winter snowed in by the fireplace with a cup of coffee, or maybe in the library writing or painting. However your choice, the Sage will be a perfect setting for your relaxation away from the deadlines and endless meetings at your workplace. This sanctuary will spawn the creative ideas of your next project or program which you have wanted to initiate. We accept the idea that you may want to complete a specialized project or masterpiece from start to finish or maybe just get the idea off the ground for the next executive presentation or the Sage may be the jumping off point for your long journey to completion of a personal masterpiece of art. Whichever selection of the latter you may have, you are welcome at the "Sage" anytime you may need.
We Love The neighborhood surrounding The Sage because it is filled with Nature. Yes there are people but you will most likely see more natural flora and fauna than you will ever see of the colleagues which you would see in the hustle bustle of the city or village

  • I stayed at the Nuessli Mountain Guesthouse BnB with my boyfriend for 3 nights. It's a lovely little cottage with a beautiful view of the countryside. We were skiing at nearby Baldy Mountain which is an easy 30 min drive from the Guesthouse. The Guesthouse is very well equipped and comfortable, very clean and well stocked with the essentials. The highlight of our stay had to be the amazing breakfasts prepared and served by Doris. We really enjoyed talking with Doris & Hans about their travels and feasting on the delicious hand made breads and jams - we can't wait to come back.

    Sally2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Doris' place if you are looking for a quiet and confortable stay. The breakfast facing the mountains was also wonderful ! Thank you !

    Mathilde2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Better than advertised. The breakfast alone is worth the visit. Doris and her husband make you feel like youre at home. The views are incredible.

    Brian2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Doris' place was exactly like the pictures. The place was spotless and breakfast, like everybody said was great. We were able to watch a lightning storm off in the distance. The only thing to be aware of is that the water is well water. It doesn't make a difference when you're drinking it and tastes no different from normal tap water. It does give off a more sulfuric smell when it goes through the heater for the shower. It is not something that should discourage you from staying here because it is amazing. It might actually have some skin healing properties. But since it was noticeable, I thought I would mention it.

    Angela2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Doris’s Place was was exactly what we were looking for. Comfortable, clean and an amazing view. Doris also baked homemade vegan buns for our breakfast...still warm and so good! Thanks again Doris!

Located just 2 1/2 miles from Highway 97 on mostly paved roads in the Okanogan Highlands, our land overlooks the Okanogan River valley, with 180 degree view of the many mountain peaks of the northern Cascades from Conconully to the south to well into Canada to the north. Pitch your tent or park your RV or trailer in any of several locations in our fenced in field, or camp in any of several locations on our lower, more isolated field.
Your host, Two Eagles, a Hippie elder, a priest for Mother Earth, an astrologer, and a naturist, lived in tipis year around in this area for twenty years
We are located next to state land, and very close to the Okanogan National Forest, and a Big Horned Sheep protected area. Several recreational lakes with boating, fishing and swimming are located nearby. A winery with live weekly entertainment is located less than two miles down the road. Several excellent hiking trails are nearby.
  • Two Eagles was a gracious host who was inviting, open, and gracious host who offered more than we asked for and was glad to show us around the place and give us a bit of a tour as well as let us camp where we wanted. We all quite enjoyed the quiet night and beautiful views. Thanks!

They definitely qualify as super hosts. Thank you for the lasting memories.

There is hiking opportunities to the nearby mountains. Crawfish Lake is about 10 miles away, an ideal place for fishing and other watersports. Perfect for Snowmobiling and Cross-Country skiing during the winter months. Hunters are welcome during hunting season.
  • Linda was kind and responsive. She treated us like family and made us feel at home. The ranch has magnificent views and grounds all around. We went in winter, but still saw some wild turkeys and coyotes when we took a hike around. Our pups had a blast. Overall, a great stay!

    Alexandra2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was the most gracious, generous, kindest host! Her hospitality was definitely above and beyond, making us feel so welcome and she treated us like family. Her home was beautiful, warm, and cozy; it was indeed a peaceful retreat for me and my husband. We are already planning future visits, and look forward to seeing Linda again! ❤

  • Tunk Valley Ranch is the sweetest BnB I’ve ever seen! There are so many cozy personal touches, you feel like you’re coming home even if you’ve never been to Omak. We picked the listing randomly and were pleasantly surprised! The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are spacious, the house is gorgeous, and the property is not to be missed. We enjoyed visiting with the neighbor’s grazing cows in the morning as well. Linda had some wonderful homemade cookies ready for us when we arrived. We can’t wait to come back!

    Sheri2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Linda in The Tunk Valley was easily the highlight of our 2 night stay. Talk about hospitality! It is absolutely amazing. Linda was available at all times to answer questions or just hang out and chat. She also prepares a generous breakfast and one may request dinner as well. The ranch is quite remote but if you are looking for a deep getaway with a great view, coyotes yipping in the night, the wisdom of a local resident, the availability of a commercial kitchen, notable country cooking and country charm you simply must visit Linda at her B&B.

    Thomas2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I was more than thankful that Linda opened her home to guests. I felt providence in the care and sincere warmth in Linda's hospitality. She does things in a very thoughtful and discerning way. Off the beaten path, it is best to arrive before the night becomes pitch black. Cell reception is not an option at times while in route to the ranch. All else is quite wonderful.

    Daniel2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice host, clean and thoughtful amenities. Excellent baked goods :-)!!

  • Linda is so kind, friendly and super nice. The place is really clean and spacious. There is a little drive up the hill, which definitely worth it. The house also has a great view and the location is so peaceful and lovely. The Rooms have private entrance which is really nice. This trip was really a unique experience for us, We stayed there over weekend and for sure we are going back in the future.

  • The house is clean and perfect for our large group. It has everything we could have possibly needed or wanted. The owners are friendly and helpful!

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This house is huge, well furnish, and quiet. It was so nice to have Ray and Tammy across the yard for any porblems that could have arose, but none did.

    Kyle2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for our group. Our group of 8 people all had our own space with plenty of room to spread out and relax. Tammy and Ray provided everything we could have needed from pots and pans to makeup removing wipes. Have to say the highlight was definitely getting to snuggle goats and little puppies. I mean, what more could you ask for?

    Rachel2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • #1 Raymond and Tammy are fantastic hosts. They were kind, gracious and helpful throughout. They also were knowledgeable about the area. The house is just outside of town, but up on a plateau surrounded by orchards so it felt secluded. The space is large and was clean. The woodstove kept it warm (dropped into high 20's during our stay). Wi-fi worked well. The beds were very comfortable. The central location was perfect for day trips to Winthrop, Nighthawk and eastward. We had a wonderful time.

    Aaron2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Talk about a cool place, plenty of beds, very clean, well situated with rooms for work and play. Our family which included six adults, was very comfortable

    Troy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it! Ray and Tammy met us out front and showed us around. They were very friendly and the place had everything we needed. The space was heated with a wood burning stove, and we stayed plenty warm. It had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely stay again if we’re ever in Omak!

    Alyson2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This house is huge! Took awhile to figure out where everything was. Hosts Tammy and Ray are hardworking people with big hearts. We didn’t discuss our differences at all which were evident. I felt a warmth and caring atmosphere. I feel the Airbnb standard about accepting diversity is exemplified by Tammy and Ray. The house was clean and ready for our small group. Many more it can accommodate. The ping pong table was a lot of fun. So much space - one could always find a spot to be alone. We got information and directions to some very beautiful places. Hope to go back again in the spring.

COVID19 VIRUS: STAY SAFER IN PRIVATE COTTAGE! SELF-ISOLATE IN COMFORT. 1BR Tamarack Cottage is a cheerful mini-version of great-grandma's 40s farmhouse shoehorned into a wee depression-era cottage. Small but comfy, with wifi and smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix), hang out inside or explore beautiful north central Washington. Regional attractions are easy jaunts -- mere minutes to a couple hours each way. Grocery store 2 blocks away. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. No pets.
Tamarack is one of my Kokanee Cottages -- the east half of what may be the world's smallest duplex. (Pine Cone is the west half, separate entrances at opposite ends of buidling.) Even though Tamarack is a wee one-bedroom unit, it has everything you need to make your stay in the country a pleasure -- a little kitchen with vintage kitchen queen and apartment-sized classic harvest gold range, microwave, crockpot, blender, toaster, wee food processor, espresso machine, and regular coffeemaker. A full-size fridge/freezer guarantees you'll never have to worry about cold drinks. No dishwasher, but a nice porcelain double sink. The classic chrome and yellow Formica kitchen table is a cheery focal point, and a place to roll out cookie dough because countertop space is pretty much nonexistent. Check out the art nouveau pressback chairs, which don't go with the table the least little bit, but I couldn't resist them, and you've got to sit on something. The smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix) and Blu-ray DVD player perch on the living room curio case. The Victorian-style daybed has a super-comfy memory foam mattress and scads of cushions to prop you up as much as you want. The overflow teacups and teapots from neighboring Nootka Rose Cottage are in the curved glass curio cabinet along with the crystal wine glasses, sip sip. Vintage floral prints and etchings and an awesome tole sconce sweeten up the living room. In the bedroom, a 50s bed frame (turquoise as found) goes perfectly with the cheerful plaid patchwork and floral cotton quilts. The mattress is divine. My most favorite fine art print (baby ducklings by Carl Brenders) welcomes you when you enter, and a classic landscape offers a restful view when it's time to go to sleep after a glorious day in the country. The two Royal Canadian Mounted Police vintage prints in the cottage are a nod to my Canadian roots. The bathroom has the usual facilities without, actually, a bath (just a shower). And a really big floral print I scored at the Barter Fair for a pittance.
  • Clean and centrally located couldn't ask for much more!

    Bradley2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic spot and by far the best option in the Okanogan Omak area. The places are cute, warm, extremely clean, and have sweet amenities like a toothbrush and stacks of towels. This is my second stay, and both times very easy to organize. I’d highly recommend this!

    Caitlin2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Geralyne’s cottages are the best places to stay in Okanogan, hands down! We have stayed in 1, 2, and 3, and they are all awesome. They are not huge and not stainless-and-glass, they are cozy, comfy, and cute. Geralyne is the best host, as she has thought of everything you might need. If there is something she hasn’t thought of, you contact her and she helps you out. Definitely a great place to stay!

  • Katie's place is set in the beautiful landscape of North Central WA. The orchards are lovely and the mighty hills of the region provide a soothing backdrop. Her lodging is clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. One can hide out and re-group, sit outside and enjoy the yard and gardens, have a chat with Katie or travel through the area and enjoy the magnificent geologic and man-made features (Grand Coulee Dam, Steamboat Rock and the features of the Ice Age floods).

  • We loved our trip to Oroville. We had such a lovely time on Katie's farm. There's so much to explore! We had to stay inside for most of our stay due to the high levels of smoke.
