Places to stay in Tompkinsville
Your room is just 3 miles from the Old Mulkey Meeting House, known for the burial plot of Hannah Boone, Daniel Boone's sister. Just 15 miles from Dale Hollow Lake, 40 Miles from Barren River Resort. 4.5 miles from the Famous Dovies Hamburgers, open over 80 years. Be sure and try our famous Bar-B-Q's on the weekends. And don't forget your only 50 miles from Mammoth Cave. Very peaceful setting which is within 3 miles of Ky. and Tenn. Border . My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
Very relaxing atmosphere of the hills of South Central Kentucky.
Very quiet neighborhood of mostly farming families.
  • The house is very nice and very clean. Ken was a great host. His house is decorated by beautiful harps and other handmade instruments he created. The house is out in the country with cow pastures behind with no traffic on the rd. We ate breakfast at a dinner just a few minutes away that was great. I would love to stay here again

  • Peace and quiet. The surroundings are lovely for their bucolic setting. Must have breakfast at Bob's. Must visit Old Mulkey Meetinghouse. Don't miss Mammoth Cave National Park.

    Joel2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, enormous room is Ken’s house in rural Kentucky, close to the Tennessee border. Ken was a warm and welcoming host, I enjoyed chatting with him and he gave me a great suggestion for a local bbq joint. The house is filled with his beautiful handmade autoharps and dolcimers. Definitely recommended!

    Steve2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ken is a very special host. Not only is his rural setting an oasis, but inside is a magical museum of all the wonderful folk instruments he has created by his own hands, including examples of a dulcimer, hammer-dulcimer, bowed-psaltry, and harps, both small and large. He is a generous man and made me feel right at home with some great conversations. I highly recommend a stay here and would love to return again!

    Garth2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is immaculate. Very comfortable bed.

    Ralph2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in the country. Ken is a wonderful host and his hand made dulcimer and harps are amazing. Great place to stay.

  • This cabin is a great place for a nice, quiet getaway! The pictures don’t do this place justice. Wonderfully decorated and plenty of necessities! Harry and Carmen are wonderful hosts that will always help solve any issues (if you even have any)!

  • I can’t say enough great things about this little slice of Moss, TN heaven. It was timely and exactly what I needed. Harry and Carmen were truly kind and lovely hosts. I’ll be coming back!

    Paula2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to come!

    Ralph2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very welcoming and smelled wonderful. Communication was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of wash rags/towels and pillows. I was there on business so I didn’t utilize all aspects of the cabin like a typical visit but could not see anything that was needed that was not there. However, if you plan to sleep in and daylight bothers you, a sleep mask may be helpful as the blinds are thin. Thanks so much for allowing me to stay in your home!

    Kristy2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Must go and Harry is great!

  • This tiny home was clean and organized, it was well pictured on the site exactly what we had walked in to! It was private and a nice getaway. The hosts were very well with communicating with us and helped by labeling the remotes for lights and fans and amenities in the home. Would recommend this site to others!

  • This place was so unique; it is tastefully decorated, has great amenities, and has great views of the countryside. We are 2 adults and a 5th grader and we fit just fine. We stayed 2 nights and would have stayed longer if it wasn't already booked. The hosts are great communicators. We feel like we made an excellent choice.

  • Amazing tiny home!

    Jesse2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Clayton and Maria’s tiny house was so cozy! It was our first time in a tiny house and we really enjoyed it. The space is beautiful and absolutely spotless, and it was very comfortable for relaxing in between visiting Mammoth Cave. The snack box, water and coffee are thoughtful touches we really appreciated. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the area. Thank you!

    Samantha2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful tiny house and amazing hosts. Great WiFi. Nice private hangout. They provided an incredibly cute snack box, coffee/tea supply, and a variety of shower soaps. Super clean and comfy. I hope to book this place again!

  • Had a great stay at Nikki’s place for a weekend of visiting Mammoth Cave. The home is cozy and comfortable. The park where the duplex is located is nice and quiet. We didn’t take advantage of the outdoor space during our stay but next time I’d definitely use the fire pit. Only a 15 or 20 min drive to the mammoth cave visitor center.

A one of a kind farmstead experience, stay in a newly constructed barn on our 500 acre dairy farm. The Mattingly farm is home to Kenny's Cheese, farmstead cheese made right here on our farm and you have a unique opportunity to stay in the heart of the action, in our brand new apartments directly above the dairy barn. You will be welcomed by our friendly dairy cows and possibly a new baby calf, or two. And because our cheese is AMAZING, we will leave some in the fridge for you to try.
*Must climb stairs – located on the 2nd floor *Apartment entrance houses an observation deck overlooking cows in the barn *View our new state of the art robot milkers *Might see a calf being born *Brand new fully furnished – new appliances, mattresses etc. *Locally made bars of soap left for each new guest *KFHC cheese in fridge *KFHC is directly next door so you could stroll over to view cheese making, samples *Beautiful country setting overlooking fields, cows grazing etc. *Take a hike on our 500 acre farm *Large shared outdoor deck *30 miles to Mammoth Cave *40 miles to Corvette Museum in Bowling Green *8 miles to Barren River State Resort Park *120 miles to Louisville (Home of Churchill Downs) *80 miles to Nashville, TN (Music City) *Wall mounted flat screen TV with cable access *Free wifi access Again, you are staying above a working dairy barn so don’t expect a quiet serene getaway. We have a second unit in this same barn that is a one bedroom/bath with a door that can open into both. Book both apartments to accommodate larger groups.
The nearest town is 15 miles away.
  • Marissa’s place was a wonderful stay! From the cheese samples to the calf petting. We had the chance to take a little tour of the cheese making area and definitely took the opportunity to purchase some cheese to go as well. Will be returning!

    Kurt2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Country setting, southern hospitality, modern amenities and excellent cheese (sample or purchase).

    Jason2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome space! We got to see a pregnant cow at night and brand new calf the next morning! Cute calves in their hutches and some fun farm cats roaming around. Very clean and spacious rooms. Milk and cheese samples were excellent! Observation deck and info about dairies was a great touch. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun stay!

    Sara2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The farm and surrounding area is very beautiful and in a nice, quiet location. When we first arrived, we were greeted by a couple of friendly cats and we knew it was going to be a lovely place to stay. The place was immaculate and very cozy and the cheese in the fridge was an appreciated touch! We highly recommend staying here!

    Emily2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the farm was excellent. Although we showed up after the normal shop business hours, Marissa was able to set us up with Cory, who showed us around where they make the cheese! Cory also let us bottle-feed the two week-old calves. They were so adorable and sweet. The apartment and barn were great with a nice view of the cows and the automatic milking machine. I would recommend to anyone looking for a chill farm experience. Also the cheese is amazing.

    Aspen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome and unique stay! I wish we could’ve stayed longer but we more than enjoyed our night on the farm.

    Thomas2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! Our only regret was that we didn't get to stay longer. Our kids loved being on the farm. It was truly a great escape for us. Cory and George were great about showing us around the farm and showing us how the cheese is made. This is such a special place. We are sure to come back again.

    Nadia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a serene place to stay with beautiful sunsets you will find it here. I loved seeing the cows everyday!

  • Sharla's place is wonderful and so is Sharla. The pictures do not capture how great her place is. There are numerous points of interest throughout her building, the bed was extremely comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. If you are in the area and in need of a place to stay do not go to a hotel, go to Hall Place, you will not regret it. Additionally, if you do not need a place to stay but are in the area, check out Hall place for a great meal.

Cozy, one room house quietly tucked away on our farm. Enjoy the farm view from the front porch or the screened in back porch. -Minutes from I-65. -A short drive to Mammoth Cave, Barren River, Corvette museum, Beech Bend or downtown Smiths Grove antique district. -Plenty for parking for boats or trailers. Friendly reminder: this is a working farm with cattle and horses.
  • This is the cutest little cottage, nestled in peace and quiet just outside of town. We enjoyed waking up to the deer sharing the pasture with the cows while drinking coffee on the back porch. And watching the bluebirds and pileated woodpecker and horses from the front porch. We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Crystal is a wonderful host and took great care to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.

    Michael2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place! The house itself was so inviting and had so many nice touches. Our favorite was the back deck and the back yard right on the Obey River. We caught a few trout, saw river otters, geese, and heron. Teshara was wonderful. Very responsive and friendly. It was a great weekend getaway!

    Allan2019-06-24T00:00:00Z

  • The cabin is wonderful. For the price and location it is a fisherman’s dream! As stated, nothing but Verizon works in the area so plan accordingly! Bring some movies for evening down time as there is a small T.V. Or just enjoy the sounds of the river on the back deck. Can’t wait to come back to the area and would 100% stay here again!

    Bobby2018-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent time. we watched the fog roll out on the river while drinking coffee each morning on the porch swing. The rest of the day, we took our canoe out on the river. The river is beautiful. Plenty of cookware and such for an awesome dinner. I would likely go back if we stay in the area again.

Spring has definitely arrived! Feed the birds please! The deck is the perfect place to bet on what morsel a bird will choose. The bird book, food and feeding plate await. Brae Cabin is the perfect location for a romantic getaway. Secluded and warm with just the right amount of technology to be interesting. Just say, "Echo, Romance". The lights in the cabin change and the melody of romance begins. The trails around Brae and in the area beckon. Hiking! Hugh and Nancy welcome you!
The Cabin Experience During the summer, the deck offers a treehouse like view of the surrounding woods. Brae Cabin allows you to leave your worries behind. If you need to "check in" or want to relax and watch a movie, the cabin's high-speed fiber can help. The only clock in the cabin identifies the day of the week. You are on cabin time - embrace it!! What Brae Cabin lacks in "spit and polish," it makes up for in ambiance. It isn't perfect. The appliances are not the latest in fashion and yet they work great. The cabin is fully automated. You will be given an entry code for the front door. Instructions are provided on how to speak to Echo to do things like; Create a romantic lighting ambiance in the master bedroom, turn the deck red lighting on, play your favorite music, and start a laser light show directed at the cliffs. Saying "Echo, Goodbye" when you leave the cabin, automatically locks the door after three minutes, turns off the lights, and illuminates the walkway at night. Other commands such as Brighter, Romance, Play Music and TV match mood to ambiance. During the winter months, a fire place in the living room provides heat and a cozy fire. The wood stove in the sun porch provides another layer of warmth in the winter. Much more fun that saying, "Echo, set the temperature to 72 degrees" and having the heater come on. Cell phone service at the cabin is spotty at best. Cell phone Wifi calls can be made when connected to the internet. (If your phone has that feature.) The phone in the cabin has unlimited long distance calling and is used for making 911 calls. The TV is a Roku enabled TV. (Free TV shows and movies are available on the Roku channel). The cabin does not have cable or Dish TV. You are welcome to bring your Amazon, Netflix, Hulu or other service sign-on codes to watch streaming programs. An evening on the deck may include grilled delicacies and the libations of choice that you hauled up the stairs. A grill and wine rack are available. Night on the deck is special. The lights change to a soft red glow. The skies at Brae Cabin are dark. There is no town light pollution. On a clear night the stars awake. Be prepared for a visual feast. The soft red lights preserve your night vision. Depending on the time of year, you may get to see the fire flies. Thousands of nature's strobe lights put on a show for you or maybe their prospective mate. The Enchanted Forest is a favorite of guests. The forest transforms. Light into art, enchanting the forest. Nature awaits! Go outdoors and enjoy a walk. Hugh and Nancy own the land that surrounds Brae Cabin. Continue up the hill past the end of Dryden Ln towards the Mt. Cameron summit. Directions and trail maps are available. Do not try and get to the rock cliffs without speaking with Hugh or Nancy. The trail can be very steep. Rocks are not soft if you fall. The Cabin Tradition Many years ago a gentleman that owned the cabin started a tradition. He placed thick glass panes on the deck railing. Each day, he would put bird seed on the plates. The bird smorgasbord opened and the birds flocked to it. Join in the fun. Take a couple hand fulls and place the bird seed on the plates. All sorts of birds take advantage of the snacks. A book on Tennessee birds and binoculars are found inside. Play bird detective and have fun identifying them. Safety and Security. Each bedroom and the living room have an emergency flashlight The flashlight can be used as a night lite if you desire. A National Weather Service alert radio is in the living room. Bad weather can strike anywhere and Tennessee can see some big storms. Instructions are provided on how to get in the garage if shelter is needed. (and yes, it is a mess!) A first aid kit is also available. For Pilots Flying In Pilots are welcome to fly into Jackson County Airport (1A7). We'll take care of transportation issues. Don't do a normal landing pattern. Follow the river in from either the north or south. Your landings will be on the numbers rather than half way down the runway. Don't be surprised if you think an invasion is taking place. Every couple of weeks, Fort Campbell and the TN Air Guard fly Blackhawks and the twin rotor CH-47 into the airport for both day and night training. The helicopters fly over the river and seem to be right off the cabin deck. Wave at the crew as they go by.
The closest town is Gainesboro. The town is small. Faye's cafe on the square is great for breakfast. Charros, the Mexican restaurant is excellent. Information on other restaurants is provided. The Little Opry, on the 2nd Saturday night of each month, is held at the Center Grove Community center. A true local experience. Music is in the blood for many middle Tennesseans. The PBS show, "Blue Grass Underground" is taped a little over an hours drive way. "The Caverns have excellent shows. Chain stores and larger grocery stores are thirty minutes away in Cookeville.
  • Brae Cabin is a true delight. Hugh and Nancy are by far some of the best hosts I’ve had the pleasure of staying with. The attention to detail and care put into this getaway is not lost on anyone who wanders through! Great location, super cool light show, and a lovely hike on the same property. Couldn’t ask for anything else! We’ll be back!

    Hawley2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Could not have possibly been better hosts. Look forward to next time.

    David2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for a quick weekend away. Friendly and accommodating hosts. Would recommend to anyone!

    Brad2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • From bird watching to the enchanted forest show, my fiancée and I loved every second we spent at Brae Cabin. We couldn’t have found a better place to celebrate our engagement. The love and care these hosts put into this home away from home is apparent and infectious. Hugh and Nancy set a new bar for southern hospitality as we felt comfortable the moment we met them. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. This was a fantastic place to disconnect while still having the comforts of home. You can’t beat a cabin in the woods that features both a great hike right on the property and a laser light show out on the deck. Brae Cabin will always hold a special place in our hearts — we can’t wait to come back.

  • You can expect a fun hike to the top of the mountain and a impressive laser show at night!

    Kenneth2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • They are wonderful hosts- special details to our stay. We would certainly look forward to a return visit if we’re in the area again.

  • What a wonderful and unique experience Hugh and Nancy provide! Total seclusion and beautiful views abound in this cabin but they take this experience up a notch by integrating some pretty cool technology! It is the perfect combination of both worlds!! Almost everything in this cabin can be controlled with Amazon Echo, including a laser light show that takes place on the deck (as many times as you like) and lights up the night with beautiful colors and your choice of music to accompany it! I truly loved everything about this cabin and I'm thinking I might just have to sneak back down for a relalaxing weekend with my husband here soon!!!

    Nichole2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful quiet little place, secluded just enough. Brae cabin is very nicely decorated, has a fully stocked kitchen and Hugh has added some very personal touches to the outside evening light shows, it is wonderful. Can't wait to come back again.

My place is close to Mammoth Cave, Barren River Lake, Bowling Green, (Nashville or Louisville are only 90 miles away). You’ll love my place because of the laid back atmosphere and international vibe! The yard is large with a firepit and big trees if you want to set up your hammock. Great deck space for morning coffee or breakfast! Prior guests compliment the comfortable bedding, super WIFI, and high water pressure. It is on the second floor and may be a shared bath, if adjacent room is booked.
This room is well equipped with amenities for long term stays - 2 closets, dresser, work desk, fridge, microwave, small fan, storage table, queen bed, and seasonal hypoallergenic bedding! The full bath is just around the corner down the hall and may be shared with one other room, but most bookings are arranged to keep it private. It should be noted that the room is on the 2nd floor, if steps are an issue. ( I do have another room listed which is on the first floor if this poses a concern).
I'm within walking distance of our square and many restaurants. Mammoth Cave is about 30 minutes away. As are Barren River Lake area and Bowling Green. Nashville and Louisville are both 90 miles away. Great "home base" for visiting South Central Kentucky!
  • I booked this Airbnb a few hours before being welcome to come to this home. I am traveling across country and Suzanne accommodated my last minute reservation and stayed in contact until I arrived at her house 3 hours later. Suzanne went above and beyond providing a very clean and organized place for me to stay at. Suzanne also had amazing amenities that I have not experienced at the other places I have stayed. She is very personable, caring and attentive. Recommend her place if you are coming to the area for Mammoth caves.

    Donna2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne was a great host! She was very friendly and even offered breakfast to us. She also responded to my questions quickly. In addition, the place was very easy to find and the check-in/check-out instructions were clear and easy to follow. I would recommend staying at Suzanne's place!

  • This is a perfect little romantic getaway. It’s a beautiful drive out and very peaceful and private. The property was great for playing with our dogs and the visits from Nikki’s pup. The goats were curious and provided entertainment while we rocked in the loveseat rockers on the patio and by the fire pit. Inside the cabin everything was exactly as described. The bathroom was immaculate and I had no hesitations about enjoying a nice long soak in the jacuzzi and indulged in long hot rainfall showers in the light of the fireplace. Everything about this place is romantic, the art, the facilities, the warm lighting. It was the kind of lighting they use in dressing rooms to flatter you into purchase. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies and the little things you don’t want to buy a whole role of while on vacation. This place met and exceeded all of my expectations. It is perfect for a weekend away with someone you love or a self care retreat. I can’t wait to go back.

  • I've stayed at many AirBnBs, both in the US and internationally. This AirBnB was so lovely and ranks among the highest I've been to. It was charming, niche, and the perfect setting for a nice getaway. If you want a clean home, with great amenities, excellent communication from hosts, and beautiful interior- book this place! I'll be back!

If reconnecting with nature is your desire, come pitch a tent on this secluded, private, conveniently located 75 acre farm in the Gainesboro , TN area. The woods are alive with Tennessee wildlife and natural beauty. Beautiful Cummins Falls State Park and Dale Hollow Lake are just a short drive. A commons area, a clean modern mobile home, with two bathrooms, two showers, plenty of hot water and kitchen is dedicated for tent campers. An inexpensive way to explore the beauty of the area.
My farm has been in our family for 6 generations. It is currently not a working farm but at one time in the 1800's supported 12 family members. The Walker family cemetery which you will see during your camping stay has 6 of those 12 original family members. My Great , Great Grandfather Spencer was a Confederate Soldier who lost his brother Bishop at the Battle of Shilo. Spencer purchased the farm in 1877 and worked it until his death in 1918. Shady Walker is my Great, Great Grandmother and was Spencer's wife , such a cool name in hot Tennessee before air conditioning. She lived in her log cabin and raised her son Thomas. My Great Grandfather was named Thomas Bishop Walker an elected Constable in the district. When he made arrests in 1899 to 1903 he would bring his subjects to Gainesboro's Court House and to the local judge Cordell Hull the future Secretary of State of the United States during World War 2 and a Nobel Peace prize winner. Thomas played his fiddle at Cordell Hulls wedding and at many of a local country clog dances. He died of complications of a broken leg when his horse bucked him off. Sally Way Walker is my Great Grandmother and wife of Thomas she raised 8 children on the farm and was a Mid Wife to the local women when they delivered their children. Bud Walker was my Great Uncle and oldest son of Thomas and Sally. Bud was the last of the Walkers that farmed and received his decades of training from Spencer and Thomas. He won the honor of farmer of the year in Jackson County in 1933. He worked hard and as one of my family members told me, " when I was a young boy you were really quiet when Bud napped on the front porch during lunch time, for if you woke him it ended your break" ,. " He ran off the front porch of the log cabin shouting , lets get to it boys". He died of a heart attack on a hot July day after plowing with his mule Tob. Ann Walker was my Aunt and eldest daughter of Thomas and Sally Walker. Ann was the last Walker to live on the farm. She is in the Airbnb list of pictures, and is pictured with her white flower. Ann Walker's Farm House is also listed on Airbnb. Ann use to baby sit me. She was a kind woman and never married ; raised by settlers of the 1800's. She was accustomed to spring water , out houses , chewed twist tobacco and called barn dances. The grave yard is filled with old time flowers in the Spring . I do not keep the grave yard mowed as it will kill the flowers and in the Summer and Fall the grave yard can get over grown. I have named the different camping sites after the many people who gathered for camping during our Solar Eclipse event. The Virginia site , Indiana Hoosiers site, Wall Street site named after two of New York Mayor Micheal Bloomberg's camping employees, Army Ranger site great for Hammock camping, Connecticut site for those that need electric power, Kentucky hollar field Site, Mississippi Field site, Ann Walker field and the lost Drone Saga site, and the classy Paris , France commons area a clean modern mobile home that was so appreciated by the young woman from Paris, France for its private showers and bathrooms.
Beautiful country all around with friendly neighbors.
  • This is a great place to pitch a tent. Very accommodating and such friendly hosts. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet that Richards place offers. We will definitely be looking for an opportunity to return.

“Roughing It” is a small cabin located in the woods. You’ll have plenty of privacy at this place, but is only recommended for campers. It’s nothing special, but the price reflects that. There is a twin bunk bed, tv w/DVD player, ac, heat, toaster oven, coffee pot, microwave, hot plate, mini fridge, utensils, plates, cups, silverware. There is running water but you will have to use he restroom at the campground. Must have an AWD/4WD vehicle. Must cross a shallow creek. 1 mi. to Wolf Creek Dam
One mile from Wolf Creek Dam. Secluded fishing cabin. Must have 4wd or awd vehicle to cross a shallow creek.
In the woods. Located one mi. from Wolf Creek Dam.
  • My son and I were transported into a country wonderland of the sound of the creek spilling over the Rock shelf waterfall, we left the windows open just to hear it. Spring was just blooming, the peepers were peeping, birds singing, and just a minute or two from trout fishing and the Cumberland River. If that isn't enough, Lake Cumberland is just on the other side of the dam.... Fisherman's Paradise, in a rustic secluded setting. Heaven on Earth....

    Jeff2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very accommodating. It was was peaceful and exactly what I was looking for, for my overnight stay. I will stay here again in the future.

  • This place is absolutely amazing, we will be going back. This is the coolest lil place. Our biggest complaint....we couldn't stay longer. Less than a mile to the National Hatchery, and the Dam. Very private, with a creek right there on the property. Jenny always responded with any question we had, about where things were located thru out the town. It was like stepping back in time. <3 <3 <3

  • My stay was absolutely amazing! Such a beautiful clean house, super close to Mammoth Cave, and every amenity you can think of! Thida is incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, with great communication. I'm already wanting to come back for a second trip!! Thanks again :)

  • We had a wonderful time! Thida was a wonderful host and all communication was quick and efficient. The house was very clean and comfy and offered plenty of space. The amount of amenities she offers is amazing. I have never seen so many at one location. All of our towels, linens, and paper products were provided. She also has pots, pans, a coffee maker, and more kitchen utensils than you could imagine. The house is just minutes from activities in the area, as well as restaurants. The backyard has a cute little pond and we saw turkeys and ducks our last morning there. My daughter loved being able to play on the playset. You more than get your money’s worth at this location! Side note: the only thing you need to bring for yourself is washcloths or a loofah for showering/bathing as washcloths are the only item not provided.

    Meagan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I were there for the weekend. Thida’s place was super clean and comfy. The amenities were a nice touch and the house is super close to all the main attractions. If we’re in the area again we would come back!

    Bryan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thida is an excellent host and the place is in a very convenient location to cave city, kentucky down under, and mammoth cave. The road it’s on looks like it is busy but we were very surprised at how quiet it was. The kitchen is fully stocked with wonderful dishes and pots and pans. Lots of detail went into preparing this place for guests. We had 6 people staying and we all were comfortable. We recommend this place! And we will stay again if we are given the opportunity. Thank you so much!

  • This place was great! Last minute mini get a way for my family and I and everything was quick and easy. The house was only about 25-30 away from Mammoth Cave which was convenient distance after a long day walking at the tours. The house was very comfy and homey. The rooms were very clean and the restroom was well stocked! Kitchen was amazing had everything you needed to make a homemade meal (extras foods were in the refrigerator and cabinets which was a plus on things we accidentally forgot). Our kids felt very comfortable. The neighbor was very friendly! And we enjoyed the viewing at night! Most definitely a place we recommend and will be back for our next adventures.

Have everything one needs during a long or short stay. Very friendly neighbors and very helpful/responsive host. Would recommend for future travelers.

  • We used Jennifer’s house as a springboard to the caves in the area. The best part of the house was the front porch. Since the house is back off the road, we found the setting to be quite peaceful. Interior of the house was clean with basic amenities in place. A couple of restaurants and some small shops are within walking distance.

  • Lindsey's place is spacious and comfortable. You have everything you need and more for a pleasant stay. The furnishings and decor make this cabin one of a kind and we had so much fun just looking around at everything inside the home. Plenty of DVDs and books and games to choose from, everything you could think of in the kitchen, comfy beds and charming knick knacks everywhere. Great porches and rockers. Completely private and woods to explore. We were pleasantly surprised and had a little winter wonderland during our stay which made for some gorgeous pictures. This feels more like a home than just a cabin stay. We loved it and will most definitely be back.

The Cottage is a private space conveniently located one block from the Gainesboro square in picturesque Jackson county. Close by are many outdoor activities such as fishing the Cumberland River or canoeing/kayaking on the Roaring River (shuttle available), where there is a boat ramp, a swim area & playground. Just 12 miles to Cummins Falls State Park & 25 minutes to Cookeville. If you’re a history buff, make sure to visit the incredible Jackson County Archives & Veterans Hall at 104 Short St.
The Cottage has been renovated back to its original charm with modern updates. The bathroom has a large walk in shower and heated tile floors. Recycled materials (such as the flooring in the den—16 ft. bleacher wood that came from a high school gym in McMinnville TN), original Hardwood floors in the bedroom along with shiplap walls and ceilings are found throughout the 4 room cottage. Two brick and stone fireplaces (no longer operational) were found behind sheet rock and dark paneling. If you love vintage style and quirky older homes, this is the place for you!
Live music on the weekends and fantastic food at The Bull and Thistle Pub, located on the square. Open Fri, Sat and Sun (brunch offered too). Walk to Faye’s Cafe for breakfast; open Mon-Sat, 5 AM to 12 PM or 12 Degrees for lunch or dinner. And if you need a sweet treat, like a Coke float, visit Anderson & Haile drugstore behind the house at 101 W. Gore Ave. Unique gifts and home decor available to purchase there as well. Giovanni’s pizza, Subway and Dairy Queen are a very short drive away.

  • Pam has done a fabulous job making a cute vintage cabin. The modern vintage appliances are very well done. The shower is amazing! It has its own heater in the shower then a heated floor in the bathroom. Thanks for a nice place to stay.

    Jonna2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful place! Pam clearly thinks about her guests' comfort. The decor is so cute! We loved the heated bathroom floors and the heat over the shower!

  • We enjoyed our stay here! Parking on the hill was a little scary from this Hoosier used to flat Indiana but it all worked out fine! The kitchen is so adorable! Loved the fridge and all the other vintagey touches. The bed was also super comfy and the bedding was nice and warm.

Country setting home located just 10 minutes from Mammoth Cave National Park, 10 minutes to I-65, 30 minutes to Bowling Green, and 90 minuets from both Louisville and Nashville. A great location to see the stars at night! Quite and conveniently located minutes from Wal-Mart, movie theatre, and several restaurants but with a country view. Enjoy the backyard fire pit at night, or watch the sunset in a farm setting. We have a front row seat to some great sunsets!
The 4 bedroom home is specious for a few friends or family. When booking, you're booking the entire home. A cheap way to stay for a large group seeing the area or just passing though. The home includes a queen bed, two full size beds, a twin bed, a pullout couch, and a futon.
The house is situated in a single road neighborhood that’s located in-between two farms. It’s a quiet neighborhood in a rural setting, just minutes away from both Glasgow and Mammoth Cave National Park.
  • Michael's place was a great location to explore the surrounding area. The house had plenty of room and couches were comfortable. A collection of DVDs kept the boys busy when it rained and they were stuck inside. Otherwise, they enjoyed the large backyard for most of our trip. Kitchen was well stocked with the necessary items for cooking. There was a fire pit but weather kept us from utilizing it. A nice and relaxing location!

    Daniel2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely country home. Close to the national Park. Definitely would recommend!

    Mariah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Everything was clean and in good order. The home was very comfortable for our family of 7. The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. Easy access to Mammoth Cave and other nearby attractions. We had some rainy weather, but we did get to enjoy one night with the fire pit! This was the perfect place for our Mammoth Cave vacation!

    Robert2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious place close to Mammoth Park. Plenty of utilities to utilize there. Wish it was warmer so we could have utilized the fire pit!

    Emily2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cherstin is a great host. Great place, super clean and much better than you can expect in this price range. If you’re coming for mammoth cave tour and looking for a comfortable stay, you can hardly find anything better. If superhost is a category of airbnb, Cherstin should be in its hall of fame. I mean it.

    Purab2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great value. I usually don’t like sharing spaces ( we shared the kitchen here) but Cherstin was hospitable and made us feel at home

  • Had a wonderful night here. We came into town to see family and this was a cozy clean place to sleep after a busy day. The area is very peaceful and we would have enjoyed sitting on the porch or grilling if we hadn't been visiting with relatives. The beds were super comfy and everyone slept well.

    Morgan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was quaint and cozy located on beautiful property. We really were able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the City. There is no TV; however, we were able to use our Tablet to watch movies via the Internet. The cabin was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. AC worked great! The bedroom is located upstairs and bathroom downstairs. Parking is close to entrance of cabin. We arrived very late and finding the cabin was a little challenging because the GPS signal was intermittent. Would recommend printing directions. We would definitely stay at the cabin again.

    Raymond2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay in this part of Kentucky....Cabin had private setting, with woods and meadow nearby and nice very big red cedar trees right next to it. There was another cabin close but it wasn't finished, so I was alone on that part of the property, which was exactly what I was looking for, to relax in solitude among the nature. I could listen to wild animal sounds and crickets on the large covered porch in the evening. Porch goes around the house and available on 2 sides of it, one side to the meadow and another side to the forest. I also got to do bird watching from the porch. The A/C was nicely cool and fresh, and the cabin was equipped for everything needed, very comfortable. I got to enjoy nice farmers market in nearby Scottsville with quality vegetables.

Visit this historical home redone in a Victorian style, with modern amenities. Come & go as you like. Adventure is just outside our door. Explore Glasgow, as we're conveniently located just off the square, find that our area is rich in history! A Scottish heritage and Abraham Lincoln himself studied here. We're also close to Mammoth Cave where you can experience one of the largest cave systems in the US. Not to mention the fantastic breakfast made and served by yours truly! Welcome, let's relax.
Built in 1852 as the home for Theodosia (Tompkins) and Dr. Chris Hall. Theodosia's nephew was Abraham Lincoln. The walls are 14" deep - 3 brick deep. Hall Place was restored in 1989, when the house underwent major renovations to equip the house with modern-day amenities. House is decorated in a Victorian style. Theodosia and her family were forced from the home in 1861, when the home served as the Union headquarters during the KY civil war. Hall Place is on the historical registry for the role it played in the Underground railroad, prior to the Union's possession. So, walk halls that Abraham Lincoln walked, where the underground railroad hid and Civil War soldiers once occupied.
House is relatively quiet most days. Street is busy most weekdays when the businesses on the square opens, and again later in the afternoon. Surrounded by churches and other historical buildings. After 5, most of the businesses roll up their sidewalk, which was my first shock when I moved here. The community is fantastic! I feel the southern charm just about anywhere I go and I feel safe walking around during the day or night.
  • Sharla is very friendly and the house offers a unique stay!

    Morgan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely beautiful. From the gorgeous room to the decor, I really loved my stay. So much in fact, that I decided to book the entire 3 months there that I am in town for work! And I felt like Belle from Beauty and the Beast when she discovered the library...so many books! Sharla went out of her way to be accommodating and is so sweet, not to mention a fantastic cook. I would definitely recommend this place 100%!!

    Kristin2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely located in a historic building and a historic locale. Sharla was very accommodating. A great value.

    Janet2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house is an amazing place and is worth the visit even if you have no other reason to be in the area; I could spend weeks just enjoying the books in the library! It is like traveling back in time, but with all the comforts of modern amenities. Sharla is a wonderful hostess and made sure we had everything we needed. She had a fantastic breakfast ready for us earlier than usual that allowed us to get on the road. She also serves other meals Tuesday through Saturday so no need to stop at a restaurant when you can buy a delicious home-cooked lunch or dinner there! Thanks, Shayla!!!

    Anne2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sharla's B&B is a trip back in time in the best way. There are awesome furniture pieces, a whole room with an antique library, a pool table room, and best of all, amazing hospitality. My husband and I had to wake up and leave pretty quick when staying here, so Sharla, who'd made us breakfast herself in the kitchen, gave us our breakfast in to-go boxes to take on the road. She was so quick in communicating, so thoughtful, and SO warm. not to mention the value of the place! We'll be back without a second thought!

    Mary2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sharla was a fantastic host. I was a bit worried that checking in later in the night was going to be an issue, but she was more than happy to accommodate us. The room we stayed in was attached to it’s own bathroom so that was a nice feature. It also has a pretty nice pool table. In the morning, we woke up to a freshly homemade breakfast and spent the morning sharing some great stories with Sharla before parting ways. This place is definitely one of those diamond in the roughs!

    Jonah2020-02-19T00:00:00Z

  • This is a Historic and classy bed and breakfast with perfect atmosphere! This Hall House features connections to the Underground Railroad . Our 35th anniversary trip was so special because of Sharla's unbeatable hospitality! The food was divine! Fresh fruit, both mornings and we enjoyed substantial portions of eggs and bacon with blueberry pancakes Sunday and sausage gravy and biscuits Monday. A huge library wall of vintage books was available for investigation. I was delighted to be allowed access to an antique upright piano for a grand time of music on Sunday afternoon. Theodosia's tea room provided sandwiches and steamy hot beverages following. The beds and accommodations were so comfy! The town of Glasgow offered 2 different band performances Saturday night and more than one bar b q restaurant . This is an adventure we will always remember!

  • This was a great stay, the hosts of thought of everything. The place is nice, clean, and seems new. The local places nearby we went to were awesome. I’d stay here again.

    Courtney2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin! We stayed for 3 nights while visiting Mammoth Cave National Park. The kids (7&9) loved playing in the yard and we enjoyed the board games that Tim and Shannon had at the cabin. We had a fire in the fire pit and the kids said they loved being in the woods. Everything was very straightforward with rental and check in. Great hosts and a lovely space. Best meal of the stay was the hot chicken at Farmacy!

    Alta2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here while visiting family nearby. What a delightful home away from home. From the snack bowl to the Kuerig to the board game trove, all of your ancillary needs have been thought of. I enjoyed the appliances and bed too. We would stay again. I don’t understand why folks stay at hotels when there’s places like this out there.

    Alison2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is located on a beautiful lake! The house is fully stocked with everything you need and the perfect amount of space! Time and Shannon responded very quickly to any questions and we very thoughtful for our stay! We had snacks for arrival and for any hikes! Absolutely one of the most wonderful Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in!

  • Beautiful property, perfectly appointed, lovely decor, very homey and comfortable. These hosts have thought of literally EVERYTHING! Great place to get away, but close to everything middle KY has to offer. WiFi works great! I was able to work, relax and enjoy a beautiful home away from home.

    Gina2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for a couples getaway or a small family! It was so cute and very clean. We had everything we needed and even a little extra! The setup was so “Chip & Jo”. Highly recommend.

  • What a wonderful place. Right off the Twisted Oliver mountain bike/hiking trail, it's a wildlife lover's dream. Barren River Lake is beautiful and the property is quiet and secluded. We went for my 50th birthday and was surprised with a birthday cake upon our arrival. There's a full kitchen with everything you need to cook or bake your own meals. We brought our bikes and used all the nearby trails as well as the trails at the State Park resort. We spent a lot of time on the deck reading and were surprised to have a big buck walk out of the woods and through the yard. Can't wait to go back!

Newly renovated, charming cabin with views of Dale Hollow Lake. One bedroom with queen size bed plus a queen size Murphy bed in living room. Enjoy a relaxing evening on the front porch after a fun filled day on the lake or exploring the area. The cabin has central heat and air for your comfort. Linens and towels are supplied. Full kitchen , laundry room has full size washer and dryer. Minutes from Star Point Marina and Eagle Cove Marina. Enjoy this relaxing retreat!
Nestled on a beautiful wooded ridge with views of the lake from the property. Situated on it's own lot with room to spread out.
Oak Hill Road is close enough to various marinas but off the main road to keep your stay quiet and relaxing. Take a right out of the driveway and follow Oak Hill to where it continues into a gravel road that leads directly down to the lake. It is quite a beautiful walk/hike with lovely views of the lake.
  • Amazing experience! From cooking supplies and spices to linens and comfort sherry covered it all! I will definitely be back and highly recommended

  • My husband and I spent this past weekend at Cedar ridge. Sheri was the perfect host. The cabin was exactly like the prior reviews said, cozy, updated, clean, close to marinas and perfect for a getaway. I am looking forward to our next trip to Sherrys place. Thank you.

  • This was a really great place to get away for the weekend. It’s in a secluded part of Tennessee which makes the stay relaxing. The cabin itself is very cozy, clean, and it feels like a home away from home. Byrdstown is about 2 hours from Nashville and 3 hours from Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg. This cabin has a view of Dale Hollow Lake and it’s just a short drive to get down to it. You can’t go wrong staying here; I’d definitely stay here again.

    Haley2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

Have you been dreaming about what it would be like to live and travel in an RV, but want to try it out before you take the big leap? Here's a great way to test it out, get a feel for small space living, and learn from people who have done it! We'd be happy to teach you everything you want to know about how to maintain an RV, find campgrounds, tow, etc. Or are you simply looking for a cozy place to vacation? This space provides a private, quiet, and convenient location to get away from it all. See pictures and captions for more information. For additional available dates or space, see our adjoining property Cave City Duplex B.
We're almost completely surrounded by corn and tobacco fields so it's a pretty quiet area. We're less than 20 minutes from the Mammoth Cave visitor center and it is a beautiful drive to get there! There are also a lot of antique shops and places to eat within 10 minutes.
  • Nikki & Louis were amazing hosts with an awesome venue. We had never done Air BnB before, or stayed in an RV before. We would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for responsive, polite, and considerate hosts. The RV was really cool, comfortable, and clean. The views are very nice, you are close to a small town but far enough away that you get fresh air, beautiful views, and a quiet country setting. Nikki and Louis were very nice people to get to know and showed us great respect. There are a few differences in RV living from a “normal” setting, though these were hardly noticed and they showed us all of the ins and outs of the RV. They gave us our space while also making us feel welcome and were great to sit around the fire and have a conversation with. We have zero complaints- and we could write an entire paper on the good points of the experience: cleanliness, friendliness, price, accommodations, etc. If we are ever in town again, we will definitely stay there.

    Haley2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nikki and Luis were great hosts. Their trailer is very spacious and conveniently located if you’re planning to visit Mammoth Caves. They gave us great restaurant recommendations too.

    Sally2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I along with our 2 boys(6 and 3) We were greeted by the owners upon arrival to explain the inner workings of an RV. They were very friendly. The RV was very clean and comfy. It has everything you need for your stay. The queen bed was surprisingly comfortable and the main shower was spacious. It is locatedin a great spot to reach the different areas with attractions. We were initially sceptical about the RV park but upon arrival we saw that there were only a few other Rvs in the park and they were all actual RVs that could roll out at any minute. The park was super quiet and actually didnt see anyone else there. They supply k-cups and a few bags of popcorn and buckets for a late night treat. We have no complaints, only good things to say about the whole experience. This is a real adventure for the kids and far better value and fun than staying at a hotel or dated lodge.

    Jp2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time staying in an RV, and it was great. The space was really large, comfortable, and clean. It was also convenient to Mammoth Cave. Nikki and get husband were great hosts and were very easy to contact. I'd definitely recommend Nikki's place to others.

    Jen2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The RV is beautiful! The location is great, and close to some very fun attractions and restaurants. They made sure to make us as comfortable as possible away from home as you can be! I would definitely come back and stay there again! Thank you so much for the quick responses, and all the tips on how to use an RV!

My place is 30 minutes from Mammoth Cave National Park, Barren River Lake, and Bowling Green KY. Local hospital and other medical facilities are within 10 minutes. Excellent and convenient location for traveling medical professionals! There is also a private fridge in each bedroom. Please note this ensuite is on the second floor.
  • Great place, nice room and an awesome host. Only spent one night but I would stay there again if I’m in the area.

    Anthony2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne’s place was a cozy home away from home. Easy check in with keypad, instructions, WiFi, personal bathroom, sm fridge, microwave, desk, chair and double bed. Sheets and towels looked and smelled clean. She made coffee for us in the morning and offered oatmeal with lots of toppings. She also had snack items available in our room. It was a nice stay! Will stay again if in the area.

The tiny house/ cabin you rent will be a unique experience. While we are only two miles from the Cumberland Parkway, when you arrive at Creekdance you will be amazed at the privacy. You will feel like you are miles away from civilization. It is the perfect spot for meditating and rejuvenating. Come visit us. Everyone is welcome!
Creekdance is located on 20 acres of prime Kentucky vegetation in the hills of Kentucky. Dry Fork Creek runs adjacent to the entire property. While it is not deep enough to kayak, it is certainly fun to dip your toes in, and walk through the ever-flowing water. Several walking paths and bird boxes can be found throughout the property. It is a great place to write, paint, read , do yoga or just rejuvenate and "get right" with nature.
Edmonton is a very small little town with a population of about 1,800. We live at the end of a gravel hill on 20 acres. At the top of the hill we have two great neighbors who vie for our egg business. We are two miles from the parkway but ions away from pollution(air and noise.)
  • Deserves 10 stars!

    Cherie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing hidden gem. We wanted to visit Mammoth Cave and found this. Amazing value and price forhe perfect serene, relaxing and romantic spot. Extra unexpected delight wth breakfast each morning. Quiche, blueberry pancakes, tomatoes that tasted fresh out of a garden. The stream right out the bak porch was relaxing and beadutiful! I would highly recommend staying here.

    Christina2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place! Cozy, serene, comfy, with all the amenities (and more!) that you would expect from a hotel, and breakfast delivered to your door hot and fresh daily! The back deck overlooking the creek and woods makes you feel as if you are in your own little world! Although the toilet takes some getting used to, we loved it and would stay again!

    Wanda2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I were just talking about how we wish we were back at this cottage. We miss it! Richard and Peggy were great hosts and the property is amazing. I booked this Airbnb for my wife’s birthday so we can escape the city and have a place to throw down a blanket and enjoy the evening sky. We’ve never seen a night sky like we did during our stay here. The cottage has everything you need and then some. We enjoyed exploring the walking paths on the property with our daughter and we got to see a bunch of wildlife: bunnies, fish, snakes, frogs, deer, etc. Our daughter loves bugs and science, so she was having a blast. If you’re looking for a cool place to get away for the weekend or just a fun glamping experience, this is it. I’m sure we’ll be back.

    Jason2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This little slice of heaven was more than I expected. We booked this simply because the reviews hinted it was magical and they couldn’t be more right. It was peaceful, beautiful and far enough away from any city that you’re able to truly enjoy the night sky. Truly there are few places I’ve been able to see that many stars. The creek was hypnotic and lulled us into such s great nights sleep. Peggy, Richard and their perfect puppy Chance were so inviting. And Peggy’s homemade, and homegrown breakfast was absolutely to die for. My only regret was that we could stay longer, get to know them more and to spend just a few more nights laying on a bench next to the creek. Thank you Peggy and Richard.

    Karen2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a place to unwind, regroup and recharge. The back deck looking over the creek will have you never wanting to leave. Off the beaten track but so very sweet in its rustic simplicity. And never forget the deliciously scrumptious breakfasts!

    Linda2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you want quiet surroundings with the music of a burbling stream accompanied by the chorus of birds serenaded by the hum of hummingbirds this is the place to stay. Our hosts provided a delicious morning breakfast along with a place where the pups could play, awesome experience!!

    Jeff2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Richard and Peggy's cabin. The space was very cozy and the area is really lovely. The creek behind the back porch is a really special area. They were very accommodating hosts, they even let us borrow their can opener for dinner when we couldn't find one in the cabin. My dog came with us and had a great time. I'd highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away and have a relaxing time.
