Built in the 1850's by Lord Tweedmouth, the 1600 acre historical Guisachan Estate is owned by the Fraser family. Guisachan offers the perfect destination for a holiday, away from the crowds. Tomich is a tiny village with 25 houses, a great cafe and a local pub. It was built in the 1850s and retains original Victorian features. The Woodland Lodge is based on the Victorian farm steading a couple of minutes walk from the village on the Guisachan Estate. It is peaceful and quiet and very very safe for families with younger children. There is lots of walking along uncrowded forest tracks, great for wildlife and the natural world. Nothing between us and the west coast of Scotland some 30 miles away, so wonderful for exploring away from the clouds. Dark skies at night and Northern lights visible from time to time.
  • Excellent location and amenities

  • The way to check in is very convenient and the house is a comfortable place to stay, but it will be better to have a striking signpost at the roadside because it took us some time to find the house, and the wifi signal is rather weak.

  • Housing really calm, change of scenery guaranteed. Pleasant pool with some accessories for children (balloon board), equipped games room and beautiful playground for children outside. Close to several hiking places.

  • Jenna's cottage is a really lovely place to stay for a few days, if you want to visit Glen Affric and the nearby falls. Visitors should think on buying provisions before getting there; there is a Spar market at Cannich, 3.5 miles away, but the road is quite... difficult for european drivers. The house was clean, comfortable, perfect for relaxing. We would recomend it to everyone. It's a little bit different than the picture -it's semidetached- but really beautiful!

  • Lovely cozy warm homely place. Gorgeous garden . Great dvd collection Plenty to see and do only a short drive away .can’t fault the communication and directions given by the host Jenna . We especially enjoyed Plodda Falls. A must see & we really had fun on a cruise around Loch Ness , we used a company with a boat called the Nessie Hunter. For food we enjoyed a meal at the Slaters arms in Cannich and a very nice meal at the fiddlers arms in Drumnadrochit. A great few days away. Would highly recommend Jenna’s place. Especially if you are looking for some peace & quiet

  • We had a great time in Tomich. The house was very comfortable and met all our needs. It was in a fab location for exploring the area and there were great walks on the doorstep. Jenna was quick to respond and provided useful info too.

    Petra2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Jenna's house in Tomich! It's a tiny, tiny little town, well off the beaten tourist track -- which was exactly what we were looking for -- quiet, cozy, and well-appointed. Jenna was very responsive to our questions and requests, and we didn't have any problems with the house. The remote location *did* make things a little complicated in terms of shopping and eating, but the SPAR store in Cannich stocked pretty much anything we needed, and we had very nice dinners out at the Slaters Arms in Cannich and at restaurants in Drumnadrochit, east by Loch Ness. I'd definitely recommend Jenna's property to anyone who wants to stay in the Loch Ness/Inverness area but wants some peace and quiet.

    Jeremy2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home. We had a great time, spent most of the day out and about and was lovely to be able to chill in the garden while it was warm and watch movies in the living room when it was cooler. Jenna left suggestions on some tourist areas of interest nearby and nearby restaurants for dinner. The area is defiantly worth a visit. We stumbled across it by chance when looking for somewhere close to Aviemore. It’s a bit further than we were looking for but the walks were amazing. Plodda falls and dog falls are both worth a visit and we ended up trying some wild swimming in Loch Beinn a’ Mheadhain! Defiantly worth the drive both to Jenna’s place and the area!

Our Victorian cottage is a little gem, tucked away in a listed Highlands village. There are three comfortable bedrooms upstairs with nature views, a bright, compact kitchen, open plan living/dining area, a modern bathroom and spacious garden, safe for children. Our home has been recently refurbished with wooden flooring, bright rugs and white walls hung with our quirky, fun artwork. Enjoy peaceful breakfasts, stunning walks from the door or just relax in front of the wood burning stove.
In the newspaper the Saturday Times survey the local area was classified fifth in the 100 most stunning places in the UK.
Tomich is a very tranquil and historic village protected through conservation rules. It is a pleasure to visit and you have the feeling of going back in time. There is a delightful coffee shop 2 minutes from the door selling light meals and delicious home made scones and tea and coffee. There is a good general shop/post office in Cannich village 3 miles away which sells food, household necessities and wine, beer etc. Unfortunately, the nearby Tomich hotel is closed at the moment due to illness.
  • All the modern conveniences with all the rural charm. Comfortable, clean and cozy. House is in a quiet village out of the way yet close enough to what you need to stay well stocked. Plodda falls were spectacular. Great place from which to explore the north highlands. Hosts were available by phone, gracious and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend highly.

  • Sanctuary is the perfect name for a quiet, peaceful, and eco-friendly home. We had planned to relax at the house, but there were so many energetic hikes and places to explore. Instructions were clear and communication prompt. The falls and Glen hikes provide views on both sunny and overcast days. The beds were cozy. The coffee shop down the street provided a delicious lunch and the food and service at the Cannich pub was delicious and friendly!

  • Rustic perfection!! :) Our stay at Sues place was just perfect!! Best pod/lodge we've stayed in to date! Spotlessly clean throughout, easy to access, spacious and comfortable. All amenities we could possibly need for our stay were provided for, including the most delicious homemade brownies (yum, thanks sue!) and generously stocked continental breakfast (to include fresh fruit, yoghurts, juice, cereals, Danish, toast and preserves).... Outstanding value for money and we'll certainly return to this wonderful quirky, gem of the highlands!xx

  • Glasha Grove is a beautifully designed space, perfectly set up for a couple. Everything has been thought about to maximise convenience and comfort. Sue greeted us very warmly and made sure we had everything we needed. The Ploddafalls nearby are incredible, we’re so glad we found this place. Definitely recommend staying here to escape the crowds!

  • This is a complete gem of a place. It is warm & comfortable, has wonderful views & easy walking access to the forest in all directions. I cooked my evening meals outside on the porch with my camping stove which worked fine. After lots of travelling, it was lovely to leave the vehicle parked up for my entire stay & be able to walk to so many beautiful woodland spots - esp Plodda falls which is a 3hr round walk from the cabin. Sue & her daughter Deborah were so welcoming, helpful & friendly. Shall definitely be back the next time we come to Glen Affric!

For those keen to explore the Highlands, there are walking maps and plenty of tourist details provided. Or, for, those who just want to get away from it all, you won't be short of peace and quiet. Our little Highland cottage was built in 1865 to house the infamous distiller John Fraser. Set on the edge of the historic village of Tomich it forms part of the former Guisachan Estate. The Brewers Cottage offers a peaceful haven, escapism is the key feature . A spacious fenced garden opens itself up to a vast array of visiting birds and wildlife.. Accommodation is strictly for 4 persons. Max 2 dogs. Sorry no children under 12. Booking is Saturday to Saturday. Our website has more information
The cottage ground floor consists of two hallways, a longe with log burner, timed background heating included, kitchen/ dinning room, downstairs wet room, washbasin, and toilet with underfloor heating and heated towel rail. First floor landing one twin room and one double room. Bed linen and towels provided. ** kindly note we have no disability features, and the bathroom is situated on the ground floor, as such the cottage may not suit the needs of the elderly, the infirm or those with some mobility issues. ** Please note in the interest of health and safety we are insured and equipped to cater for a maximum 4 persons as such we cannot accommodate alternative or additional sleeping / living arrangements.
Tomich is a small Victorian model conservation village built in the mid 1800’s by Lord Tweedmouth. The village adjoins Tweedmouths’ Highland estate Guisachan where the first golden retriever was bred. The mansion house Tweedmouths’ Highland Home is now a ruin, however the village of Tomich and the farm remains largely unchanged since Victorian times. The Brewers Cottage sits on the approach to the village on the narrow road lined with Victorian lamp posts. The village has very limited amenities but does offer a very traditional Highland hotel with public bar and restaurant and The Coach House Cafe offers hot food and drink plus a small gift area and post office (both establishments are seasonal) Cannich 3 miles away offers a small grocery store and post office. Inverness the Highland capital is 35 miles away. Loch Ness and Drumnadrochit is 18 miles away. Beauly 16 miles away. Highland falconry and the Struy Inn come highly recommend 10 miles away. Pony trekking is a must at Cougie 7 miles away - this is by far the best way to see Glen Affric where golden eagles are a regular sighting. Plodda Falls is a spectacular 150ft waterfall situated 3.5 miles away. Foxes, badgers and pine martins visit the garden nightly for food, plus we have a vast array of birdlife visiting the garden. We actively encourage all our guests to support our visiting wildlife. Food is supplied while stocks last to maintain the various feeding stations in the garden. The area is an absolute must for wildlife and outdoor enthusiasts. The night skies in the area are stunning and it’s not uncommon to see the Aurora Borealis from the village. We have planted a large number of fruiting trees and bushes in the garden - guests are most welcome to benefit from the crops when they become available. We warmly welcome your company on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Nice little cottage in a historic village in the Highlands. Very clean and well equipped and an ideal base for exploring the beautiful local glens.

  • We came in the summer to get away from it all and that worked! Beautiful tranquil spot in the middle of nowhere (well almost). Lots of nice walks nearby; a small town with a shop a couple of miles away. Would be hard without a car. The cottage is small but cosy - only downside is that the bathroom is downstairs and a bit of a trek from the bedrooms. There was lots of info about local history and walks etc.

    Kate2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is clean and very well-equipped with cooking utensils. The best thing about it is the location. Tomich is a beautiful village with gorgeous stone cottages and extremely pretty gardens. Glen Affric is one of the most beautiful glens I’ve seen in Scotland and was perfect for a relaxing retreat.

Riverside Cottage is nestled in woods alongside a secluded stretch of magnificent Highland river. The cottage is cosy and fully self-contained, with a kitchen, bathroom, sitting and dining area and two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin). A log stove wards off any Scottish weather. The balcony opens onto lawn and trees and the cool, peat-coloured waters of the River Glass.
Guests are welcome to walk or fish along our 6km stretch of river bank, or unwind in the peace and tranquility of the gardens and grounds, within a few minutes of some of the most spectacular panoramas of Scotland. We are a few minutes from the exquisite 19th-century village of Tomich. Loch Ness (15 minutes) and the charming village of Beauly (25 minutes) are within easy reach. For the hardy, take a dip in the fresh(!) Highland water to clear your mind and body of the stresses and strains of city life. Riverside cottage was built in the 19th century for the gamekeeper of Kerrow House, an 18th-century hunting lodge built by the heads of Clan Chisholm and enlarged in the 19th century by Lord Tweedmouth. Kerrow House was home to celebrated Scottish writer Neil Gunn. Fans of his work can imbibe the ambience that inspired such classics as Highland River and the Lost Glen. Before Gunn lived at Kerrow, it was here that Lord Tweedmouth oversaw the breeding of the first litters of the Golden Retriever Breed. The kennel books of nearby Guisachan estate record the birth of the first golden pups here, at Kerrow.
Strathfarrar is at the heart of one of the wildest and most spectacular parts of the Highlands. The nearby village of Cannich is within easy reach. Kerrow is the ideal base from which to explore some of the most glorious and wild areas of the Highlands.
  • Wonderful, cosy and warm place. Tucked away in the woods but close to everything on offer in the area. Just what we were looking for a relaxed few days away with a log fire and views into the forest and the river surrounded by the hills. Jack is a great host provided local info and personal touches making us feel welcome over the Christmas period. No hesitation to recommend this for a trip away!

We are close to the beautiful National Nature Reserve of Glen Affric and a short drive from Loch Ness. Our eco micro-lodges have been a constructed using locally sourced timber and have turf roof. They are set in the wild meadow adjoining our house. Located in the small rural village of Cannich, they are a perfect base from which to explore the great outdoors.
Ensuite facilities, mini kitchen and heating. BBQ area outside the micro-lodges. Village shop and pub a 5 minute walk away.
The start of Glen Affric is a few minutes drive away with its Mountains, Lochs and one of the last remnants of Ancient Caledonian Pine Forests. 2 other stunning Glens are worth a visit: Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar. Loch Ness is a 20 min drive away, Inverness 35 mins. Perfect for many outdoor activities including walking, cycling, canoeing, wildlife spotting, photography etc.
  • Nice hut with good wifi, shower and cooking facilities. We got good tips on places to visit and it is the perfect location for exploring Glen Affric

  • Had a lovely stay here, little cabin has everything you need. In a really peaceful place and would definitely go back. We had good weather which meant we were able to sit outside and enjoy morning coffee in what felt like a little meadow even though it’s just at the back of the B&B. Susan and her husband were very welcoming and give us good tips about walks. Glen Affric nearby is beautiful for walking. Would definitely recommend this place.

    Jude2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Alastair’s cabins are excellent. Less than five minutes’ walk to the village shop and pub, they’re a short drive into beautiful Glen Affric. The cabins are only at the bottom of the garden but are very quiet and gaze into trees so it feels like you’re out in the woods. Would happily stay again.

    Jack2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • All future guests can expect a very warm welcome from the hosts and a clean tidy and amazing lil cabin ! Worth every penny ! Go , relax , explore and have fun !

  • We had a short two night stay in one of Susan's charming cabins. The cabin is very well put together and well-appointed. The large window frames a Caledonian view that makes you feel a part of forest. Susan was very welcoming and had some great advice about things to do in the area. We would like to have stayed longer.

  • Everything was great about our short two night stay at Craskie. A) Communication was great prior to arrival regarding book in details etc... B) Friendly welcome on arrival. And Leila was on hand for any questions C) The location is the highlight- we arrived at night and spent the evening deer spotting and star gazing on the decking of our pod. Perfect scenary to wake up in the morning to beautiful views of the valley. D) Pods were amazing. Warm and cozy in the chilly night; comfortable bed; all utilities as described; wifi worked very well; extra touch of a dram of whisky and home-pumped water; bathroom/washing facilities a short walk from the pods. Doesn't feel like your in the middle of the highlands when in your pod! Thanks Leila & Ben!

Leila was very welcoming to us and our dogs on arrival. If you stay here you must try Leila and Bens lamb burgers, they are soooo good!! I would highly recommend staying here.

  • It was very clean and a beautiful bungalow. Leila was very hospitable and explained everything! With the directions it is also good to find, but you should have eaten something before or winfach nirgens want more because it is far away from the center. Anonsten also has something to eat for a Leila. It is a beautiful place there and a bit adventurous :) we would recommend it to anyone, where sometimes something different than the usual B & B's.

  • The cabins at Slaters Arms are clean, well-equipped and just perfect for a trip with family and/or friends to one of the nicest areas of the Highlands, close to some of the most breathtaking landscapes and hiking areas. Angela is a great host. I can't but strongly recommend it to anyone.

  • Great place to stay. Angela was very welcoming. The Airbnb was great, warm and very clean. The dogs in the pub were adorable. Highly recommend this to anyone

    Lakshan2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing location and so peaceful. Angela was a great host and having the pub and shop on your doorstep was great. The lodge was clean and well presented, comfy and my lad loved having Wi-Fi in such a remote location. Thoroughly recommended

    Steve2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Accommodation is as advertised and has everything you need for a most enjoyable stay. Hosts leave you to it but if you need them, they are right on the doorstep. Majority of guests prefer it that was and don’t understand those that think host should be checking up and entertaining them all the time. Angie has the perfect balance and appreciated by us. As others have said shop is very close by and the pub run by Angie and her husband is highly recommended, especially if you have a dog with you. There are very few pubs in Scotland that are dog friendly but this one would take some beating. Food in pub is good old pub grub and always piping hot and recommended. Finished off with sticky toffee pudding and you can’t go wrong. We are actually quite fussy in where we stay and thoroughly check all reviews before booking. Best compliment I can give Angie is that we would come back again.

    Kenny2018-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely 5 stars. We enjoyed our 4 days in cannich, Angela was perfect helping us with everything. The house is cozy and clean, and the views are unbelievable. We will come back!

  • We had a great week at Affric Lodge. The accommodation was as described, immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped. Check-in and communications were straightforward. The location is outstanding- some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK within a few minutes drive. The lodge felt private and was quiet, but all amenities were on hand.

Spacious house in a huge wooded garden extending to 7 acres, perfect for families, children and dogs, or couples wanting to escape from a busy city life! Close to the Glen Affric mountains and National Nature Reserve.
The house was a self build and family home for many years. It has a turf roof, mix of stone and wooden floors with underfloor heating and an open plan kitchen / living area with a wood-burning stove. There are three bedrooms: one with a king size bed, one with two singles, and one with a double bed and a double sofa bed. The garden is part cultivated with organic fruit and vegetables, and part wild, so a great space for children to explore. A hike up into the wood behind the house gives access into the Nature Reserve. There are any amount of walks and cycle routes to choose, from the door, or by exploring three spectacularly scenic local glens, Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar. There is also a table tennis table and BBQ and outdoor seating. A barn owl nest box just above the house, is occupied all year, and wildlife is abundant around the garden. There is no mobile reception at the house but a good signal in Cannich (4 miles) The wifi has been upgraded and so is now unlimited and reliable.
The air is fresh and clean and smells of the pines! There are magnificent waterfalls, natural and planted woodlands, clear rivers, high mountains and tranquil glens. Wildlife abounds and can be seen if you are patient and quiet. Tomich village has a pub and restaurant as does Cannich (4 miles away) and there are many other choices further afield. The local spar shop in Cannich is now very well stocked. Beauly (25 miles away) is highly recommended for shopping with a traditional butchers, bakers, delicatessan and good co-op store and banks etc.
  • This is an amazing place, beautifully located, very spacious, very homely, amazing wood burner and so comfortable to stay in. Great space for kids as well. Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it.

    Adnan2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the Croft. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. We were not missing anything. The location is gorgeous as well. Very quiet and I have rarely seen such a beautiful garden with such a variety of wildlife. We were able to watch many different kinds of birds, squirrels and even rabbits. Liz was a great host and replied to requests or questions very fast. We hope we will be able to stay at this gorgeous house again one day.

    Lena2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place for a relaxing vacation. It is off the beaten path. It also only 20 minutes from a full grocery store and gas station. The home is comfy and the kitchen is well-stocked. Best of all, Liz is really lovely and responsive. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Sandie2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time at Liz's place! The house is even better looking than on the pictures. It is very clean, spacious, one of a kind, and you definitely feel at home there. If you want to relax and enjoy nature in the middle of the Highlands and very close to the Loch Ness, you got it here. Everything is well organized, Liz welcomed us upon arrival and gave us all the information we needed, also there is documentation on nice walks in the area. Would come back for sure!

    Camille2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Croft is a fabulous house, so much so that we’re reluctant to tell any friends about it! The photos do not do not do it justice to be honest. Much bigger than we’d imagined and so quirky and homely feeling. So much is handmade and crafted. Great powerful showers, wonderful huge bath, garden is vast and interesting including vegetable patch. Wonderful walks from the door. On day 1 we did a great 10 mile clockwise loop to the loch and continued to Dog Falls and continued until we got back to the house. We found The Croft hard to leave and we hope to be back one day.

    Gillian2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this beautiful and unique house! It was truly a privilege to stay there! The house is cozy, comfortable and spacious! The decor is inviting and warm. Liz provided everything we needed and more. The fire place was just what we needed after a day of hiking and fishing in the Highlands. The garden surrounding the house has been nurtured to preserve the natural beauty of the Highlands and has a little winding path through it. I would highly recommend The Croft to anyone seeking a woodland paradise!

    Lori2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was just what we needed. The setting and the house were incredible. You can tell a lot of love and care has gone into the home. Liz was a great communicator. Tomich is a small but welcoming community. Definitely a great place for nature lovers. My husband, 7 year old son, and i had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this house.

  • Pod nestled in the forest, surrounded by sheep and fawns. The perfect place for a detox break: the only noise you'll hear is that of the stream (and rain ...). The pod is small but comfortable, equipped with a small coffee corner, table and chairs, as well as a barbecue kit. Leila waited for us to check in and didn't miss anything. The bathrooms are attached to the main cottage, brand new and clean (I didn't expect such a modern shower!) The ecological and sustainable philosophy is praiseworthy. Super recommended!

We are in probably one of the most scenic parts of the Highlands, just minutes away from the iconic Glen Affric, Ploda Falls, and Dog Falls which all offer stunning views and excellent walking opportunities. The accommodation is 15 minutes from Loch Ness and 30 minutes from Inverness, the Highland Capital. We are also on the door step of the North Coast 500 route for the trip of a life time stunning .
This is a superb location for visiting the Highlands. Loch Ness is just a 15 min drive where you can enjoy boat trips and fishing on the loch. Scotland is the home of golf and we have some pretty special courses nearby: Castle Stuart, Nairn, Royal Dornoch, Aigas Golf Course is just down the road. There are so many places for walking you really will be spoilt for choice; ask us for more information. Inverness is the capital of the Highlands and has a great range of shops, restaurants and bars, bistros and cafes to choose from. There is also a cinema, bowling alley, sports centre and lots of supermarkets to stock up the kitchen! Ask us if you have any preferences for what to do and see in the area and we will be more than pleased to help.
We have a local cafe, public house/restaurant and village shop a few minutes away.

  • Vince's place was very conveniently located for the nearby glen affric area where we walked a great deal. It had all the ammeneties we needed to make our stay very comfortable (kitchenware etc.). Vince himself was very responsive and full of suggestions on what to do and eat in the area.

  • Lovely chalet! It’s not hard to find, just follow the map. The check in process was quick and easy. The chalet is clean and comfortable. The kitchen has basic ingredients ( salt, oil, pepper, etc.) and dishes that needed for cooking. The bedrooms are clean and we had a nice sleep there. The host is really kind and hospitable. She showed us the house and give us some recommendations and prepared a bottle of milk for us. The view outside the chalet is beautiful and peace. Highly recommended!

  • We stayed in Strathglass Lodge for a week at the end of October. It provides simple and comfortable accommodation with everything we needed. The electricity cost us £15. Having the pub just a few steps away was very convenient. Good food, drink and nice locals. Angela and Scott were welcoming and gave us tips on local events and the best places to explore in the area. Would definitely stay again!

Nestled in a tranquil forest clearing, the yurt is a beautiful, cosy space: perfect for a couple to escape the humdrum of ordinary life. In the 5.5m diameter circular space is a comfy double bed, futon sofa facing a central woodburner, dining area and well-appointed kitchen. In your private clearing is a wooden seating area, firepit, outdoor wash-sink, peaceful compost toilet and al fresco bucket hoist shower. We are very close to the wonderful Glen Affric, and only 40 minutes from Inverness.
Perfectly round, and beautifully hand-painted, this authentic Mongolian yurt makes a wonderful place to escape to. Cosy in round the central woodburner or wrap up with a blanket in front of the campfire and enjoy the stars (no light pollution round here!). There's everything you need inside the yurt - cosy bed, dining area, well appointed kitchen and comfy sofa with books and games available. There is electric lighting from a solar-powered battery. No wi-fi or sockets means this getaway is an opportunity to enjoy forest walks and pine-marten spotting rather than emails!
Glen Affric has been called the most beautiful glen in Scotland. Its ancient pine forests and magnificent mountain vistas are to be seen to be believed. There are also stunning waterfalls, wildlife reserves (though the pine martens regularly feed just outside the yurt too!) and prehistoric sites within half and hour of our site. The village of Cannich (1 mile away down the hill) has a very friendly shop and a lovely cafe. There are several pubs in the area that do good food. Loch Ness is 20 minutes away, along with Urqhuart Castle and Drumnadrochit's ancient oak woodlands. Inverness is a 40 minute journey away, as is Beauly in the other direction.
  • Outstanding location, fantastic welcome, as its says on the box. We were there for the weekend and used it as a base,to view the local area. Plodda Falls fantastic as was Glen Affric. The yurt and its amenities were homely, clean and fun (try the shower). You won't go wrong if this is your cuppa. Thanks Ele for everything .

  • I’ve never experienced anything like it! A true escape to share with your loved one. So comfy, cosy and beautiful. There’s plenty of amazing walks and waterfalls near by! Amazing place to forage and appreciate wildlife. I cannot put into words the amazing feeling you get when you wake up in that yurt. 10/10

    Joe2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place for an off grid experience surrounded by nature. Was surprised how quickly the yurt warmed up with the wood burning stove on. Loved the outdoor shower. Would recommend this for anyone looking for a bit of an adventure!

  • A magical break from reality. Easy to find, friendly surroundings and many things to do nearby. We will definitely be returning.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. The yurt has everything we needed and more. It’s a beautiful, secluded spot surrounded by forested areas. The yurt is amazing, very comfortable and exceeded my expectations. The host was very helpful before our stay, with excellent directions to the site. She made us feel very much at home when we arrived and then left us to our own devices for the duration of the stay. Lovely to cook over an open fire and light the wood-burning stove at night. Will definitely be back to stay here - we loved it.

    Leon2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Eleanor’s place is much more than just a place to stay; it’s such an experience in itself. Before going we were a little apprehensive about the outdoor toilet and shower but they were both surprisingly ‘enjoyable’. I’d definitely recommend taking a pair of walking boots to move around the area. Despite having no WiFi we still had enough signal and 4G to be able to plan our time around Loch Ness and we took a power pack to charge everything up. I’d 100% recommend staying here, just make sure you’re prepared.

    Amelia2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Magical stay for us, we loved our stay thoroughly at the yurt. It was quite spacious, much more than what we expected. Yurt had a fully functional kitchen; we cooked an entire Indian meal and a breakfast :). Village of cannich is just a mile away with SPAR and a great Pub ( Slaters Inn ), we pretty much felt like locals. Everything at the yurt was so thoughtful, and it was in the total wilderness but with all required amenities. We Enjoyed the wee camp-fire and cutting woods by myself for the same. Star-lit night sky adds to the experience. Highly recommended, it's a unique experience & would definetely like to have it again.

    Vikalp2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay here. It was lovely to feel genuinely secluded. The area is stunning and it was a joy to wake up to. My highlights were the bucket shower, constructing a fire from the brash, flicking through the books about self-sufficiency (I tried my hand at whittling and mushroom foraging) and a trip to nearby Glen Affric.

  • We had a lovely stay with our toddler boys. The pods were outstanding.. Clean, warm and had all the basics you'd need. The bathroom/toilet facilities were a stone throw away and were extremely clean, like Flash ad spotless! Plenty of walks paths to explore if you're upto it. Or if you're like me lazing the whole day followed by getting the bonfire ready to toast mallows and a bbq by evening. Finish the night off with a wee dram (part of the available 'kitchen basics'). Also, the citronella oil diffuser was a good touch and kept the mosquitos away. As we say in Scotland.. Amazeballs! Thank you for your hospitality!
