  • Great accommodation for a highlands hillwalking retreat. Dawn Andy and John were fantastic hosts with a lovely home and great local tips. I Would highly recommend this stay.

  • Very welcoming-a great place to stay in a lovely location

  • A very nice house with spacious and above all clean rooms. The host family is extremely friendly and gave us great tips. The breakfast was also very good. :-)

    Sarah2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay here! The room was spacious, airy and comfortable (and spotlessly clean!) with an absolutely gorgeous view out of the window towards the river and the rail bridge. It's easy to get to from the A9 and so close to a huge number of beautiful places to go walking and exploring. Huge thanks to Dawn and family for their excellent hospitality and local knowledge - I felt very at home.

    Elly2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Huge comfortable room with tea/coffee facility and en suite shower room. Friendly and welcoming host, would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

    Anne2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • House lies within a beautiful landscape. We where recommended to take a walk on the old military road - had some really nice views. The room was huge and sparkling clean. Tomatin Distillery within 30min walking. Definitely try the whisky it's worth it! Hosts are super friendly.

    Sascha2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality with an incredible view!

    Ben2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • These people are amazing, we had a jam session playing piano and accordion. The room is big and clean and the location, while being under the highway bridge, is very peaceful. The Highway must have some sort of sound dampening because it is barely audible even mid-day. Inside the house was one of the most quiet places I have stayed. I enjoyed my first night so much I booked another night. Stay here if you are in the area.

Tomatin Glamping Pods is a small but spacious site consisting of four luxury glamping pods. Inverness and the Cairngorms are in close proximity. Our pods come well equipped with kitchenette (double hob, microwave grill, toaster, stove top kettle, small fridge, pots, pans, crockery & utensils) a fixed double bed with storage space & sofa bed, shower room, wifi, freesat TV, bedding & towels, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, oil & toilet paper. Free parking on site.
    * Important note - there is no supermarket in Tomatin so be sure to stock up on food, drink and other essentials before arriving as your closest 24 hour supermarket is in Inverness which is a 20 minutes drive. If travelling from the south, Aviemore has a Tesco and Aldi that open until 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8pm on Sunday's. There is a local village shop which is open from 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 5pm on Saturday's but is shut on Sunday's. Our site has placed emphasis on providing guests with plenty of space.. Each pod is surrounded by grassy areas and newly planted trees. Wildlife such as deer, rabbits and birds frequent the site to give a true sense of countryside living. We aim to offer our guests a relaxing and peaceful place of retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern living. Welcome to Tomatin Glamping Pods!
Situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, our site aims to provide a peaceful space where guests can relax in a rural setting whilst conveniently being equidistant from both Inverness and Aviemore - a 15.5 mile drive north (22 minutes) from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands and a 14.9 mile drive south (22 minutes) from Aviemore, the hub of the Cairngorm National Park. Tomatin itself, is famous for it's Whisky Distillery which has an excellent visitor centre. There is a village shop where essential groceries can be purchased along with fresh bread, take away coffee/tea, alcohol, tobacco etc. The River Findhorn flows through Tomatin and can be fished with a permit. Tomatin also offers plently of walking and cycling routes. Being only 15 miles south of Inverness, Tomatin would be great starting and finishing point for the North 500. To the south of Tomatin is the stunningly scenic Cairngorm National Park which boasts a wealth of outdoor pursuits including skiing, hill walking, cycling, water sports and an abundance of wildlife. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars within Aviemore and the surrounding area. For those with children, Landmark adventure Park can be found in Carrbridge which is only a 10-15 minute drive from the Tomatin and a fantastic family day out. To the north of Tomatin, the Highland Capital can be found. Inverness is a city celebrated for it's culture, history and exceptional beauty. Here you will find historic architecture, scenic riverside and canal walks, and array of great shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. A visit to Inverness would not be complete without visiting Culloden Battlefield, the site of the last battle fought on British soil and Loch Ness which is easily the largest freshwater lake in the U.K - keep an eye out for the monster!
  • Lovely host and lovely stay. Highly recommended

    Harley2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay and just what we needed for a nice little getaway and the distillery tour near by is a must to visit whilst there

    Sam2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay if you want some downtime. The pod itself is immaculate and provides everything you could possible need. Wendy and Jack are lovely and nothing seems to be too much bother for them. Great location for exploring the Cairgorms and further up north.

    Alex2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Uncomplicated check-in, Wendy explained everything and provided some information. The accommodations were all very new, ours was very clean and lovingly decorated. You will find everything you need to live, even a TV with Smart TV for Netflix or Prime Video. We would definitely come back again! Many thanks, Wendy! :)

    Florian2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Place was totally brill could not fault it in anyway. 10/10. Host brill. Pod brill. Spot on.

    Graham2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you're passing by the area I totally recommend skipping Inverness and staying at Wendy's pods. The setup and amenities were exceptional and we are sad to only have stayed one night!

    Evita2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was everything we wanted in a quiet place! Wendy was a great host and extremely responsive even when we arrived at a different time than initially planned. We would recommend this to anyone looking to get a peaceful and rustic experience without the hassle of setup and a nice, very clean, space.

    Michael2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant glamping pods and a very thoughtful host. The pods are new, stylish, spotlessly clean and really cosy. Wendy’s communication beforehand was great and she gave us a warm welcome. We were really impressed with the effort made on all the little details - kids cutlery, marshmallow sticks and a mini local whisky to name just a few, she has thought of everything! Damp weather ruined our plans to light a fire but if we’d been able to it would have been blissful, each pod has its own a fire pit, log seats and a picnic table - the set up is great. Our children loved the experience, and the location was great as a base for visiting Landmark Forest Adventure Park.

Feel at home in our quiet countryside room based in the village of Tomatin. Tomatin is a 15 minute drive from both Inverness and Aviemore, both of which offer an abundance of activities - whether you are looking to explore Loch Ness, hit the shops or get invovled in some serious outdoor activities from hillwalking to canoeing or mountain biking to paddle boarding, you won't be bored! For the whisky lovers, we are also situated right beside the famous Tomatin Distillery where you can enjoy a tour along with a tipple or two while soaking up the local culture. We are surrounded by wonderful wildlife and the area has earned the nickname 'Eagle Alley' as there are several pairs of breeding Golden eagles in the area. So if you are an avid birdwatcher there is ample opportunity to spot our beautiful iconic animals, along with our red squirrels and much more! Or for those of you in transit to the stunning West coast, we offer the perfect spot to rest and recuperate for the night as we are just off the A9.
Tomatin itself is a sleepy little village and offers very little other than one small shop for necessities and the famous whisky distillery. Carrbridge is a 7 minute drive and here you can have dinner at the local pub or hotel, there are also a choice of cafés open during the day. Aviemore is also close by (15 minute drive) and here you can find loads of bustling and lively pubs and restaurants to choose from. Inverness is also a 15 minute drive to the north and again there is plenty going on there too!
  • What a lovely comfortable, warm house and a friendly welcome. Rachel left many thoughtful touches, the house was spotless and we felt instantly at home. We would recommend staying here as a great base for Aviemore or Inverness.

    Katrina2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Rachel and Robin's for one night and it was perfect. Robin was very friendly and gave us tips for our Scotland-Trip. Sadly, we didn't meet Rachel, because she was at work but the conversation prior to our arrival was kind. The room is even better than shown on photos and there is a private bathroom right opposite to it. Everything was clean and the bed very comfortable. Would recommend!

    Nicole2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful, quiet, clean and welcoming. Extra touches and great tips from Rachel and Robin. Definitely recommend.

    Baina2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rachael and Robin are lovely people and were very pleasant hosts during my stay. Their place is spotless and they were happy to accommodate me with my two dogs and got their fair share of dog cuddles. I had an opportunity to check in earlier and Rachael was only happy to accommodate this. A comfortable and pleasant stay, thoroughly recommended.

    Lenka2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel and here partner are a lovely couple. They were very friendly and extremely helpful. This Airbnb was actually perfect in all aspects. Would highly recommend. Thanks guys!

    Sarah2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rachael and Robin are a really nice couple. Rachael is super reactive and the place is easy to find. Super great location nearby the Cairngorms National Park and to Inverness. The place is super clean, cosy, warm and full of nature and kindness. They gave us, to my boyfriend and I, really good addresses and helped us a lot. I really recommend this address, you can spend some nights to Rachael's place without thinking about it twice!

    Soizic2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was an excellent and thoughtful host. Her place was clean and comfortable.

    Roger2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rachael was very accommodating regarding our late arrival - we arrived rather late in the evening and considerably later than we had expected, which we were very grateful for! We then had wished to spend more time there, as the room and the bathroom were very comfortable, clean and warm, and Rachael has put a selection of books about Scotland in the room that we would really have loved to read! Also, the room itself had everything one would need - a comfy bed, a comfy chair, a kettle, tea, coffee, sweets, some Irn'Bru - we think we might be back at some point!

  • A lovely place to stay. Very friendly and helpful. Great bath and a very warm comfortable bed. Highly recommended!

    Janeen2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a beautiful, peaceful getaway in the highlands! You definitely need to have a car, but getting there is very easy. Lisa was very welcoming and the breakfast was the best spread I've seen at an airbnb ever! Felt more like a lovely bed and breakfast than airbnb. I didn't use the sauna, but the hot tub was the perfect end to my busy days in the highlands. The bathroom and shower were super clean.

    Sydnie2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Lisa and her family for three nights and enjoyed the relaxing environment at the farm very much! The whirlpool and the sauna contributed a lot to it. The room was cozy and the bed was really comfortable. Lisa was very welcoming and nice and the breakfast was really good too. Would come back to this place anytime.

    Frieda2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Can't recommend highly enough. Lisa is very friendly and the facilities are great. It was lovely to wake up in the morning to see a field full of sheep a few yards away. Terrific internet, better speeds than I've had in some cities. I will return without a moment's hesitation.

  • We loved these quiet days The location is close to Inverness (about 15min drive) The dogs hens goats rabbits duck and pony are the happiness of children and Joan took time to show them and take them to get the eggs! The accommodation is very functional and very clean Very good rental!

    Amelie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice mobile home. It was great for our family of 5. Joan is delightful. She left fresh eggs at our arrival and she sells them for a good price so we bought more for the rest of our visit. As Joan says, the wi-fi isn't always reliable. It mostly didn't work for us so we recommend knowing your wireless company's data roaming charges just in case. Her 3 dogs are very friendly and we enjoyed seeing her farm animals. The house is a good base for exploring Inverness and Loch Ness. We hope to return someday! The countryside is stunning!

    Brent2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve been really happy about that home. Also Joan was very friendly. It’s near to Inverness and close by is a supermarket which is open 24/7.

  • Comfortable accommodation. Close to Inverness and great host

    Jonathan2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Joan for the great accommodation, we felt very comfortable. The hostess was very nice and always had good travel tips ready. Especially for children, the accommodation is well suited. We could hardly get rid of them from the animals. For our big one the farm (accommodation) was the best of the whole holiday. Thank you for the wonderful time Thomas, Irina, Jannes and Jonah

    Thomas2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had great time on this nice quiet place. It is a spacious and clean caravan, easily accomodating a family of four. A very friendly and helpful host. Kids had much fun with the dogs and the animals on the farm. We recommend.

    Franc2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Joan's hospitality is second to none. The impeccable, comfortable guest house. The children have really enjoyed the animals there. A little away from Inverness, but on the other hand a tranquility for rest that is appreciated after days of routes. Fully recommended

Welcome to Carnach Cottage. This converted church is located in the Highland Scottish village of Carrbridge, within easy reach of Aviemore and in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park.
A light and bright double-height living space with wood-burning stove and underfloor heating ensures you will be warm and comfortable, whether you are returning from a day on the hills or taking shelter from the Scottish weather! An impressive open-plan kitchen with large fridge-freezer, range cooker and additional hob and eye-level oven/grill leads into a breakfast bar and dining table area which seats 8 comfortably (high chair included). There is a wall-mounted television in the living area and high-speed fibre optic WiFi through the property. A ground floor bedroom with super-king size bed (which can be arranged as two single beds) and ample wardrobe space is next door to the large family shower room. Whilst upstairs there is a second bathroom, and two double bedrooms which share a dual-aspect, spacious mezzanine balcony. Patio doors to the rear of the property lead to a private paved outdoor space with BBQ area and wood storage. There is ample off-street parking for 3-4 cars at the side of the property. A sizeable porch provides plenty of room for boots, coats and pushchairs. The utility room inside the property boasts a washing machine, tumble dryer and overhead pulley and is therefore the perfect drying room following any rainy adventures. Wood burning stove with wood and kindling included. Cooking essentials included (tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt, pepper). Accessibility - patio doors with step free access, wide hallways and bedroom and bathroom on ground floor. Pets welcome but please kept to the ground floor and not on the furniture.
Carnach is located within a 5 minute walk of the Landmark Adventure Park, which provides year round entertainment for the whole family. The Old Packhorse Bridge, for which Carrbridge is famous, is a short walk away. The village has a local hotel/bar, a lively pub, and a couple of excellent cafes. Carrbridge also boasts a convenience store, petrol station, and post office all within easy walking distance. The cottage is directly linked to wonderful walks through Ellan woods (on the back doorstep) and far more beyond. If you are feeling more adventurous, the Cairngorm mountain range offers skiing, climbing, and winter walking, just half an hour drive away.

Enjoy a stay in this spacious yet cosy, modern cottage on a working livestock farm. The Cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the Scottish Highlands, lying between Inverness to the north and Aviemore to the south - both less than a 15 minute drive.
Far enough from the buzz of the city of Inverness, this idyllic retreat is well situated with easy access to main roads, but is most suitable for those with access to their own vehicle as public transport is limited
The Cottage is situated on a working hill farm, surrounded by countryside, woodland and hills. The village of Tomatin lies three miles to the south and has a well-stocked local shop.

Completed to a high standard this larch clad cabin is located just outside the village of Farr in the beautiful river valley of Strathnairn and is perfect for those seeking contemporary accommodation with all mod cons in a rural setting.
Completed to a high standard this larch clad cabin is located just outside the village of Farr in the beautiful river valley of Strathnairn and is perfect for those seeking contemporary accommodation with all mod cons in a rural setting. Surrounded by forests, hills and lochs yet only 10 miles to the south of Inverness and all the capital of the highlands has to offer the location is hard to beat.
I visited this area for the first time in 2012 and was immediately impressed by the combination of beautiful highland scenery and the relative closeness of Inverness. At 250m above sea level and surrounded by woods and hills Strathnairn has the feel of a more isolated location but is in fact within very easy reach of the city. This is not a common combination in the highlands of Scotland with most of the popular destinations being far off the beaten track. For my family this was important since we needed to be close to a major hospital but it struck me that this city/rural combination would also be advantageous to many others.
  • The cabin is so cute and was a very nice place to stay. Nice and quiet and close to all the things in Inverness. Scott was really kind and suggested several places for us to go. Highly recommend.

  • If you are scrolling through, looking at reviews, deciding where to stay...stop now. Book this beautiful wee place! Off the beaten track enough to feel secluded, yet 15 mins to Inverness where you will find anything you need! Stunning countryside all around...we fell in love with this wee place and the location. One of the best value, best equipped places we have stayed! Everything we needed was here, it was perfect! Thanks for everything, we will be back for sure. Kirsten & William

  • Scott's Cottage is spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. You will find a very nicely presented cottage, with very comfortable furniture, that provides a great place to relax after full days of sightseeing. There is a spacious, fully-equipped kitchen, with several condiments provided (if you're cooking), and foil, cling wrap etc as well. The bathroom is open, very clean and modern. The heating worked wonderfully, and we were always toasty warm. Overall, Scott's cottage is the perfect place to stay to visit the Inverness region, and is well located fairly close to the A9.

Dalvourn Cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Farr. This traditional semi detached cottage was once a Chuch and School for the village. It has a track road from the B851 to the house with open coutryside either side including a herd of deer on the moorland. Recently fully refurbished with a large garden and area to sit out in. There is a ramp access to the house with a downstairs toilet and shower with seat. The surrounding countryside is fantastic for walking and cycling.
Inverness is apprximately 6 miles away Fort Augustus around 20 miles Aviemore 26 miles. Nairn Beach around 20 miles. Beautiful landscapes to explore
There is a well stocked local shop a half mile away and nearby a playpark and a range of forest walks. This cottage has all the wildlife and nature attractions you would expect but is only a short drive from Inverness city centre.
  • We had a problem free and great stay at Dawn's rental home. The communication at booking was quick and friendly, and the property easy to find. The property is tastefully and newly decorated. Also, we found lots of thoughtful little touches; things we hadn't experienced in other air BnB properties. Thank you Dawn. It was a proper home from home and I would stay there again without hesitation.

I am new to this but look forward to welcoming you to the lovely village of Carrbridge in the heart of the cairngorm national park.
There is one bedroom available which has a small double bed. There is a large garden with a gate to a beautiful riverside walk. The village has a spar shop, pub, and several cafes and is close to Aviemore and Grantown. A short half hour drive will bring you to the highland capital of Inverness.
Carrbridge has an amazing outdoor adventure park and attracts many visitors. There is a beautiful historic bridge over the Dulnain river which must be one of the most photographed bridges in Scotland. There are many local walks and beautiful scenery to enjoy.
  • We were well welcomed and our short stay was wery pleasant. The house is cosy and the village of Carrebribge is lovely.

Situated down the remote and winding Strathdearn Glen, the School House is a simple and practical property that would suit groups keen to be outside and exploring. Positioned on the calm banks of the river Findhorn and with beautiful views down the glen, this house is perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle and take life at a slower pace for a while. Enjoy fishing, walking, board games, cycling, and bird-watching in an unspoilt part of the Scottish Highlands.
The School House sits next to what was once the local school for the Dalarossie community. The building is now split into two, with the right half occupied by a long-term tenant. The property was recently renovated, having previously been owned by a traditional family of three sisters who never used electricity and sourced water from an outdoor pump! It is set over two floors. Two twin rooms and one double en-suite are on the ground floor, along with a separate bathroom and linen cupboard. Upstairs is an open-plan kitchen, dining area, and living room with views towards the river. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering and the living room has a television with a small selection of videos and DVDs. Please note, this house is not modern or luxurious but a simple place with essentials only. It is also important to note that this house does not have WiFi and has very limited mobile signal ('Three' and 'EE' get minimal coverage.).
The School House is tucked away down a single track glen road that leads from the village of Tomatin and is a 30-minute drive South from Inverness. Please note, the location is remote and you will need to bring food supplies with you. The closest town is Tomatin (10 min drive), which has a small shop, taxi service, bus stop, and whiskey distillery. Aviemore (30 min drive), which is part of the Cairngorms National Park, has a number of restaurants, pubs, outdoor clothing outlets, and outdoor activity options - including skiing, kayaking, canoeing, and climbing. Inverness (30 min drive) is a large city that should have everything else you might need, including supermarkets, high street stores, restaurants, cinemas, gyms, etc.
  • Great holiday cottage in a beautiful rural location.

  • It was all as described and a little bit better. The apartment is simply furnished and clean and had everything we needed.. Lucy was very friendly and helpful, even with bigger problems she helped us immediately. The location is in the middle of the Highlands, quiet, peaceful and secluded. Good for anyone who wants to escape the stress of everyday life and enjoy nature. To our astonishment the village shop in Tomatin did not have the big selection but everything you need. Everything else was in Inverness and very easy to reach by car. We loved it and fulfilled all our expectations! Thank you that we were allowed to be here.

    Wolfgang2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house is well equipped, with a large garden and very quiet. From there you can make wonderful trips to the Caingorms or visit Nessie and castles.

Nice places to eat just a 5 minute walk away, although not needed as Bruce and Mairi have supplied everything you would need to cook at the cottage. • Great little cottage. We have just come back from a 3 night stay. Our party was 2 adults and 1 child (7). This location was great for what we needed, the driveway entrance to the cottage is directly opposite landmark adventure playground which is great for kids! The cottage itself is extremely warm!! Which was great after a day out in the rain to warm up. Everything was very clean and welcoming with a pint of milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. There is plenty of outside space to be had unfortunately we had terrible weather so couldn't take advantage of this. Thank you Bruce and Mairi

Perfect for active families and adventure lovers! Carrbridge and the surrounding area are known as the playground of the Highlands, there is so much to do for all ages… and abilities. You'll find plenty of things to do on our blog at Caledonian Escapes, however here are some of the highlights …. zip lining, mountain biking, skiing, climbing, go karting and quad biking, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, hill walking, sailing, gorge walking, lying on the beach… ! We're sure there will be something for you. Equally, Carrbridge itself is lovely quiet village so you can really get away from the hustle and bustle here and enjoy a slower pace of life. The Old Packhorse Bridge is just a short walk from the lodge and it’s worth a photo at this iconic landmark. The village itself has a shop, a petrol station and a couple of cafes, restaurants and pubs so you can enjoy some local cuisine a short walk from the lodge. The famous Landmark Adventure Park is about 10 minutes walk from the lodge and well worth a visit with the whole family, and some of it is open all year round. Another family favourite is visiting the Polar Bears and the other beautiful animals at the Wildlife Park near Aviemore. Even just taking the dog for a walk can be a discovery. There are plenty of woodland and river walks near the lodge which can be added together to make longer walks. You can also explore the trails through the ancient Rothiemurchus forest, around the wonderful lochs and lochans, or into the foothills to discover a bothy or a breathtaking viewpoint. There are walks for all levels, so you can go high and long, or gentle, low and easy… but you will not be disappointed. And of course, after a day exploring, you will discover all the wonderful places to stop for coffee and cake, a pub lunch, or a long dinner over wine. The surrounding towns and villages around Carrbridge also have a wide variety of things to do and places to refuel. Of course, you can pop into Aviemore which is only about 10 minutes drive away which has a wonderful buzz and energy, and plenty of shops if you need supplies. We are more than happy to pass on all the information you need to make sure you get the best from your holiday in the highlands. You'll find lots more ideas of what to explore on our Caledonian Escapes social media feeds and website :) Kids We know that often the first things kids ask is “What’s the wifi code?” But there is so much on offer for kids that hopefully you’ll won’t need the code! There are plenty of trails around for easy low level walking and mountain biking. One right from the front door follows cycle route NCN7 to Sluggan Bridge, where you can let you mind go back in time and imagine General Wade’s redcoats using the bridge to ford the river. Recently built in Carrbridge is a bike park, just near the school, so great kids (young and old) to brush up on their bike skills. If the kids are a bit more adventurous on the bikes, then Laggan Wolftrax is just south of Aviemore and offers some get downhill trails and a cute cafe in the carpark for a well earned cuppa and cake. Other brilliant activities for kids include the zip line park just south of Aviemore, and Treezone at Rothiemurchus. There is also tennis, horse riding, segways, go-karting, indoor soft play and a whole bunch of activities to enjoy on the water at Loch Insh and Loch Morlich. After all this, you’ll be ready to head back to the lodge to relax in the hot tub, get the BBQ on and start planning the next day’s adventures.

  • We had a fabulous stay at The Smithy and it’s even better than it looks in the pictures. It is beautiful decorated, fully equipped and plenty of space for a larger group or family. Lots of lovely touches including dressing gowns and a bottle of fizz and the beds were clean and comfortable with fresh white linen. The outside space is equally amazing so we would love to return in the warmer months to make use of the space as it was snowing during our stay. Lots of walks in the local area but only a ten minute drive to Aviemore so great location too.

    Charlotte2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place well suited to families in great location. Had planned to ski however weather was not kind. Found lots of other things to do and enjoyed forest walks literally across road.

  • Wow, what fantastic Christmas stay we had at Smithy Croft. The attention to detail of the decorations and tree, made it very special. A lovely place to spend family time together. Local area is very interesting, lots of great dog walks on the door step and fab to get some snow up on at ski centre. Carrbridge is a friendly little village. We made good use of the hot tub and would love to come back and get full use of the amazing our door facilities in the warmer months.

Finished to a very high standard, this lovely 1 bedroom property is located in Daviot, just south of Inverness. The Den has its own entrance, a cosy kitchen/lounge area and bright & airy bedroom with ensuite shower room. Guests will also have access to our hot tub to enjoy the Highland stars at night at an extra charge. Although in a rural location it is ideally placed for access to Loch Ness, the Cairngorms and further North, and is only a 10 minute drive to Inverness centre.
The Den was fully converted from loft space in 2017. The bright and freshly decorated accommodation comprises an open-plan kitchen/living room with sofa bed and a twin bedroom with ensuite shower room. The sofa bed in the lounge can accommodate two adults but ideally one adult or two children. The sofa bed has an extra mattress for added comfort. Please note, the only way to access the toilet is through the bedroom. Also, as The Den is within converted loft space, the ceilings are 6’ 2” (188cm) at the highest points.
Daviot is a lovely rural village located off the A9 (main route to the Highlands from the south)
  • Ian's place is just amazing. Exactly what we were after to spend some time off to nature. Really nice hiking routes around. The loft itself is very cute and cozy, well equipped and of course the highlight was the hot tub. What a better way to end your day! We used it after a long day in mountains and it we enjoyed the view of stars late at night. Ian is very hospitable and quick in responses. Highly recommended. Thanks, Ian

  • Couldn’t rate this place highly enough! People refer to the little touches and they are so right - I won’t list them as it was a pleasant surprise but they make the stay. The pod is spacious enough for two people, outside fire and cooking area and superbly clean. Quiet stay perfect for a weekend break. Thank you so much!

  • The Tiny House was fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay and the little house has everything that is needed. The communication with Wendy and Jack went very well and with the adress and GPS coordinates it was no problem finding the Tomatin Glamping Pods. It can be reached very easily from the A9 which makes it very convenient when you want to explore the national park. A big plus is the arrangements of the tiny houses which gives you plenty of space outside and privacy. We hope to come back in the future.

  • Immaculate and wonderfully cosy pods in such a tranquil spot, best of quality, everything you need is supplied and top notch, buy some kindling and logs at the local shop for roasting marshmallows....couldn’t ask for anymore ...Super host super friendly and helpful

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Wendy's pod and definitely recommend it! It was the perfect space for a tight-nit group of 4 who wanted to chat and hang out together playing board games. The pod was impeccable and had all we needed and more, a stylish yet cosy space, and the shower was amazing! The location was easy to find with Wendy's directions and very convenient for exploring the Cairngorms area and Inverness. We were also very lucky to get snow during our stay, and it was lovely watching the snow fall outside while being warm and cosy in the pod. If you want somewhere quiet with a slightly adventurous but cosy feeling, it's perfect!

    Joy2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The pods were a perfect little spot to spend the night on our way to The Cairngorms. The layout was well thought out with everything you needed and more for a nights stay! Wendy was a great host and always readily available to lend a helping hand if needed, the little amenities she provided went over and above expectations and it was a delight to stay! Would highly recommend!

  • Stayed for two nights in December, lovely site, ideally located for accessing many places throughout the Highlands

    Adrian2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • So much thought has gone into the pods, they feel private and are much bigger than I expected. The shower is nice and powerful and the heating worked well. Lots of little touches like a miniature of whiskey from the local distillery and ground coffee for the morning really topped off a perfect stay!

    Jonathan2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy and Jack, Firstly thank you for the very warm welcome and all your help! We were very lucky to be greeted with beautiful snow and both Wendy and Jack went to great efforts to ensure we could safely get the car parked as close to the pod as possible. The pod was immaculate, cute mini whiskey and marshmallows waiting and lots of lovely Christmas decorations. You made us feel so welcome and the pod was so cosy with all the amenities of a hotel room. I could not recommend more! Thank you both so much. Aimée and Jean

    Aimée2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Not too difficult to find with the directions provided by the host. As soon as you drive in it is clear that the place is immaculate. Wendy (the host) was down to see us straight away and make sure we were ok. The pods are well constructed, warm and secure. They are bigger than you would expect also. I stayed with my wife and 3 year old. My daughter was more than happy with the ‘big’ bed that the sofa converts into. The linen and towels were spotless. The extra touches like the wee jar or marshmallows (that my daughter destroyed) and the miniature of whisky from the local Tomatin distillery were great. It is the small touches that make the difference.

    Kevin2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • These glamping pods are a really excellent way for a couple or small family to experience the Highlands. Everything you need is here and your host, Wendy is super helpful. Very easy to find just off the main Inverness road. Very near good places to spot eagles!

    Fritha2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy and Jack were excellent hosts to my son and his friends. They did a long walk from Inverness to Tomatin and stayed for one night on way to Aviemore the next day. Tomatin was the night of my sons 21st. Their communication was excellent and It was so kind of them to go the extra mile and did a shop so my son and his friends didn’t have to carry food for evening and breckie. Even sourced a vegan birthday cake for him (which they were all so happy about) after walking 11.5hrs. The pod had everything they needed for the night. The local beers were also a lovely touch and much appreciated. Wendy and Jacks hospitality was excellent and I can happily recommend them and their glamping pods to others.

    Natalie2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • I have just stayed in the glamping pod with my husband and 2 children and I have to say everything was OUTSTANDING! I can't wait to come back and will recommend this stunning place to everyone! Amazing! Thank you Wendy and family!

  • Wendy was a wonderful host, going out of her way to amend our dates for our stay when we had an unexpected delay getting there and going out of her way to find a leaflet that gave us 10% off at an attraction we mentioned we were hoping to go to. The accommodation itself had everything we needed and was beautifully decorated, warm and cosy. Can’t wait to stay there again in the future. 10/10

(Little Whisky taster was awesome)🤗 Wendy and Jack you are a great example to many hosts of how to keep your business sparkling clean beautifully modern and inviting! We both would like to wish you all the health happiness and much success with your magnificent Pods, and hope to come back very very soon! Kindest Regards Pattie&Anna

  • The Pod had a very comfy bed and a great shower. Well equipped kitchen. Nice and quiet area, a dram of the local whisky for a nightcap was provided. Cheers!

  • What an amazing glamping experience! Me and the other half regularly use Airbnb and this is genuinely one of the best we've had. We were welcomed by Wendy and her family and shown around the area. Brilliant campsite and surrounding area for small walks. The pod itself is exceptionally clean with a very comfy bed, ace shower and great amenities. Each pod has its own bench for meals and drinks, and a fire pit for the evening. Cannot fault this place, I will be recommending to friends and family and we will definitely be back. Thanks, Wendy and Jack!

  • Clava Cottage is a lovely, stylish and comfortable place to stay in this beautiful part of the Highlands. It was warm and cosy and the host had thought of every detail to make my stay comfortable. I especially loved the fact there was a 4000year old Ring Cairn on site as I am big fan of Outlander.

Spacious, cosy, family-friendly log cabin with super-fast wi-fi. Scenic, peaceful location on a farm 9 miles (14km) south of Inverness. Close to Loch Ness and many of the best tourist attractions in the Scottish Highlands. Ideal base for touring, walking or cycling.
  • Comfortable and cosy wooden lodge set in the small village of Farr, 20 minutes from Inverness and ~30 mins from Aviemore. Also well situated for exploring Loch Ness and the Monadhliath mountains. Lodge was clean and spacious and Willie was on hand to provide local information and welcome you to the property. Very prompt replies during booking process and throughout. Would happily stay again.

  • This lodge is amazing. It has two big modern bathrooms, a cosy living room with wood burner and space for 5/6 people to sleep. It feels a little like a ski chalet. There is also room for at least 2 cars. We stayed as a couple but the place would work for a group of friends or a family as well. A short drive to Inverness. Plenty of lakes and walking trails around the area. Definitely recommend Fearnag if you want to get away from it all but still benefit from the comforts of home.

    Alicia2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fearnag Lodge completely met our expectations, the pictures and description gave an accurate account of what it was like. The directions given were very detailed and descriptive and we were greeted with warmth on arrival as well as given the necessary information to make us feel comfortable throughout our stay. The Christmas tree in the hall way was such a lovely touch and really added to the cosiness of the home. It was the perfect place to stay for our family and being a family of 5 there was plenty of space for us all. The location gave us a place to rest without being to far from places to visit or activities we wanted to do.

    Marie2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very comfortable and warm. The location is perfect to spend a few days off in nature. Very friendly hosts.

    Carmen2016-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful lodge 20 minutes from inverness. We were staying here as our base for the inverness marathon and it was a great place to relax and easy to get to by car. I would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting the area!

    Gary2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had 3 nights at the lodge and was simply wonderful. Great location to visit Loch Ness and surrounding area in a quiet tranquil setting. Beautiful lodge with all you need for a relaxed break. Thanks to our hosts who were very welcoming and had a great knowledge of the area. This place comes highly recommended for a Highland break.

    Gary2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • William welcomed us into the Lodge on arrival and talked us through how everything worked and provided a detailed overview of the surrounding area. We really enjoyed our stay at the Lodge, the Lodge is very spacious, warm and cosy and finished to a high spec. The wood burning fire is great. The lodge is in a perfect location to go to explore the outdoors. We visited Dores/Lochness and Aviemore. I would certainly recommend this Lodge to others on AirBnB and would certainly stay here on future visits to Inverness. Great Accommodation - A++

I am new to this but look forward to welcoming you to the lovely village of Carrbridge in the heart of the cairngorm national park.
This bedroom has a large double bed. There is also a travel cot if required.
  • Super nice, easy stay. In friendly Carrbridge village :)

  • Grace & Carla's place is beautiful and a lovely spot to stay. It's very comfortable and spacious and has a great location looking down on to the river. Though we unfortunately weren't able to meet her or Grace, Carla kept in touch perfectly and we felt welcome and able to make ourselves at home. Hopefully we'll have a chance to be back before too long. Thanks very much!

    Alex2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a wonderful stay, and we're so happy to have stayed at Carla and Grace's place. Such a lovely & stylish home, so pleasant and pretty, and such wonderful hospitality. We felt welcomed and appreciated. This definitely was one of our loveliest stays during our trip.

    Ayelet2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Warm host, lovely house, great surroundings. We received a warm welcome from Grace and showed round the house. We were dropping off our luggage then heading into Aviemore. Taxis aren't readily available but the train station is a 15 minute walk away, and Aviemore is just one stop away. Carrbridge looked like a lovely peaceful place from what we saw. We would like to spend more time up there in future. Room was big enough for my partner and I, comfy bed and plenty of hanging, storage space. Selection of fruits, cereals, drinks for breakfast. We had breakfast with the host which was great. Our first AirBnB experience and it was great. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Grace is a very nice and friendly host, who really wants you to feel at home. Her house is absolutely beautiful with lovely authentic details. We enjoyed having breakfast in the morning together with Grace!

  • Carla has been a fantastic host - friendly and communicative. Her house is lovely and very central in Carrbridge, within easy access to walking trails and places to eat and drink. The house is clean and quiet, and was the perfect place to stay for the weekend.

Unique give the cosy caravan a go . It’s fun . You can also chill in our garden.
We are less than half a mile from the Clava Cairns. 2 miles from the world famous Culloden Battlefield. 10 miles from The start of Loch Ness . The cycling round our place is great and route 7 passes our front door . We are happy to provide a safe place for bikes and cyclists.
  • Great little Caravan in the driveway of this family home! Jennifer was really good to us and helped us get settled in! Thanks so much for a cozy stay!

    Shandra2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for the Clava Cairns and right on the National cycling network route. A home from home.

  • Unique stay! Jennifer and her husband were cute ... very kind and super hospitable. Beautiful place, located on top of a hill surrounded by greenery with cows and bulls grazing in the fence next to the garden. Very nice, well equipped and cozy caravan. We absolutely recommend it for a stay out of the ordinary.

    Tommaso2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfy caravan and very quiet surroundings with great views would highly recommend.

    Stevie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • So this is what I want the world the know about Jennifer and her caravan: Basically there are no other words to describe Jennifer as amazing, lovely and incredibly sweet. She took us into her caravan as if we were her family. Her warm welcome, enthousiasm and energy makes a tiered traveller all fixed up again. Apart from, in my eyes the Superhost, the caravan was also lovely! I was so glad when I arrived and saw the caravan! It was a welcome change from the hostels we were staying in before. It's perfect for 2 people: cosy and clean. It has everything you want: a bed/couch, kitchen, tv, room for all your stuff, a bathroom with shower... Also the enviroment is amazing. The caravan is located in nature at a 5 minute walk from the Clava Cairns ánd you have a view over the Battlefields of Culloden (30 minute walk). So it's perfect for the traveller who wants quiet, who wants to hike in nature and who likes to play tourist. Also very important to know about Jennifer: unfortunately our holiday was cut short due to a carcrash. We loved the place, but we wanted to go home after our frightning experience. Jennifer stood by us the entire process. She helped us through the ups and downs, the nice and the ugly. I couldn't wish for a better host in this kind of situation as Jennifer. She basically took us under our wing as if we were her own. For that I can't thank you enough! That's why I want to thank Jennifer from the bottom of my heart for, despite the carcrash, a lovely stay, personal care and her loving personality. Without you Jennifer, we couldn't have finished our holiday the way we did. When we are ready to go back to Scotland we would love a chance to stay with you again. Therefore I highly recommend you as a (SUPER)host and think the stay in your caravan was priceless <3
