  • This was my first AirB&B reservation and I was very pleased. I was nervous because we were going to a wedding and I was worried about timing and transportation. Craig responded to all my questions right away, which helped ease my mind. Place was super cute and clean. Bed was comfy and the heater was on point and nice after a chilly evening. I recommend staying at this place. Thanks so much Craig.

We had everything we needed and the hosts were so kind to leave us food for breakfast and chocolate on our pillows. Very nice touches!

  • The Black Bears Den was an amazing place to stay for our snow weekend away! It was extremely cozy, perfect for two people; it felt like our own mini cabin get-away. Craig provided us with all the necessities plus more. The location was perfect, we were within 5-15 min driving range for all of our actives on West/North shore. We would defiantly come back to the Black Bears Den!

  • Kana’s place is a time share in a very nice resort in squaw valley, just a short walk (and even shorter free shuttle ride) from the lifts. The units are very comfortable and come with everything you need. The resort’s amenities such as pool and hot tubs are excellent. Kana is very prompt in her communications and very accommodating. She set every up for minimum hassle for her guests. I highly recommend her place for skiers at squaw valley.

    Damir2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Kana was very communicative. The people here were very hospitable. All went smoothly. Short walk to bottom of lifts. We snowboarded almost every day. Good price. Nice rec room. Nice Jacuzzis. We used the free snow shoes they lent out on Wednesdays and we went on a cool snow shoe adventure that the guy at the desk told us about. My husband went on a cool hike just behind the inn. We loved it!

  • Nice place! It was renovated nicely and was great for the price!

    Micah2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at almost dusk and luckily had 4wd considering it was snowy and icy road conditions. the driveway has a moderate incline but not crazy. the lock box opened with ease, and, well, they left the lights and heat on for us. this let us know that we were likely in good hands, well we were. as soon as we entered we noticed nice comfy throws placed about the couches and seating. secondly we found the fire log rack was stocked and the fireplace clean. Of course priority was to conjure a nice fire. Did I mention, the host (s) replied to our messages within about 15 minutes no matter what the time of day or night? Well Rose did just that. kudos The entire place was clean, no odors, no smeared surfaces or mirrors like that of persons whom were in a rush to finish cleaning. we greatly appreciate the cleanliness. The kitchen sparkles with newness and there are seasonings, dish towels soap paper towels the full gammit. nothing is remotely gross. we found several lighting dimmers throughout. the towels are good and as well clean. the beds smelled clean and were comfy. pillows were nice as well. plenty of hot water and nice bath products in the handy dispensers. the hot tub is nice and you can adjust as desired. The cable internet is perfect which we appreciated as we worked the entire time we were there and the TV channel selection (cable TV) is pretty awesome should one desire to wrap up in one or more of those clean comfy throws and get lost in a movie while the fireplace glows from across the coffee table. It snows in this area therefore during the snowy season be prepared to experience what it is like to live in the snow meaning cool ice sickles beaming down from the eaves and well, of course snow built up on and around the house and a cute little snowy walk way to the heavenly front door. The hosts "knocked it out of the park" in our experienced humble opinions. we look forward to again renting this exact home in the near future.

  • Spacious and lovely

    Miriam2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular location, great view of lake from the top of the street, easy to find, close to the area where we conducted resupply, streets and driveway were plowed, bear box was secure, and hot tub was HOT.

    Eric2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is in a great location for trips to Squaw Valley or Tahoe City. The hub tub was easy to use and exactly what we wanted after a day of skiing. Check in and check out was simple. The bedroom setup was perfect for couples.

  • Perfect

    Fred2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very close to Squaw Valley and we had a good ski trip there. I like the kitchen the most, and had a good dinner and breakfast there. One possible drawback, however, is the heating system in the room. The apartment is heated using two radiators and an additional electrical radiator. The radiator seems to heat slowly, and I woke up in the middle of the night due to the insufficient heating from the radiator. Apart from that, things in the apartment would be great for a ski trip!

    Weixuan2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is ideal for the perfect week(end) getaway! It’s tucked away, surrounded by trees, and pretty quiet for the most part (other than events going on). We liked the low-maintenance experience and were able to enjoy our time at the home as well as exploring other cities within reasonable distance. I would definitely return!

    Kellie Rae2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • The condo was nice, had everything we needed. The smart TV was great, allowing us to watch anything we had a login for.

    Bart2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is well located, well equipped, and stylish. The Murphy bed is a thoughtful touch, and gives the unit a lot more space. The kitchen and bathroom are well appointed and functional. Communication was quick and professional. Highly recommended!

    Marty2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying here. The accommodation and facilities were great and self check-in made it really easy and flexible. The place was nicely set up to create a relaxing and comfortable home from home. The living space was comfy and cosy with a nice big sofa to stretch out on. The kitchen was really well equipped to with good oven, dishwasher etc. The walls between apartments are quite thin but this didn’t really effect us. The grounds that the accommodation is in is great with a hot tub and pool to relax in after a day of adventuring. It feels like your in a nice little holiday bubble just outside the main hub of the town, really easy to get to within a short drive.

  • We wanted to bring the kids to the snow for a long weekend, and this place was in the area we wanted to stay. It is a nice sized little guest house next to a larger main house. Plenty of parking and space out front. The place was clean and modern and had all the amenities we could need. We would definitely come back.

    Jeff2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location and home. Quick walk to cute coffee shops and a market as well as the beach. We loved the cute studio feel of the guest house. Would love to come back!

  • Great location. Cool house!!

    Nicholas2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda’s place is great! Fantastic location close to the lake, and nice and cozy inside. Our favorite part was the hot tub on the back deck and the bed, which was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. The fact that the house has two bathrooms was also very convenient, especially when getting ready in the morning.

    Melisande2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I decided to go up to Lake Tahoe to ski and stay overnight during this three day weekend. It was the right choice; our stay over at Brenda’s was lovely. Her place was cozy, simple, and clean.

    Soomin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is cozy and conveniently located to all the great destinations surrounding the lake, from restaurants to alpine hikes. If you’re staying during the wintertime, be prepared to take full advantage of the space heaters provided, as the place doesn’t have the greatest insulation. This was definitely minor, but something to consider if you’re accustomed to Bay Area temps like me. :) All in all, a great cabin! Can’t wait to visit again soon.

    Scotty2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect weekend getaway!

  • Great cozy spot, close to the lake and stores. Really enjoyed spending the weekend at this place with my three friends. Addie was a great host and highly recommend booking your stay with her.

    Alexis2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Addie's place and hospitality were top notch. She and her family supported us during a big storm that swept through Tahoe. We got snowed in and her teenagers came over and shoveled out our car. The house kept us warm and cozy after a long day of playing in the powder. We were just down the street at Homewood. So the location was great. Before we arrived we communicated about the best places to snowboard when its windy and we followed her recommendation, which made a positive difference. The weather was tough and she made the stress melt away by offering the place the third day at a discounted rate.

    David2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. Addie was very communicative and allowed us to stay well passed the check-out time to accommodate our group. Thank you!

    Jacob2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is absolutely perfect. Cozy and comfy. Addie is very attentive and will respond quickly. Only thing, if you have frequent bathroom needs, bath is downstairs to bedrooms.

    Karen2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Greate place for a small family get away. The cabin is tiny but cozy and comfortable.

    Scott2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for what we were looking for, which was quiet in the woods, but near the lake and ski resort. Quaint and perfect for my friend and I. We also were able to cook most meals at the cabin allowing us to relax more there.

  • Lovely, stylish cabin space with modern amenities. Ample cookware for a full cooking kitchen (though bring the essential ingredients you need). Comfortably fit our group, and even the bunk beds were comfy. The hot tub was working and ready when we arrived and we enjoyed it. Keep in mind there is no garage here so if it snows you may have to clean your car! Only improvements we would suggest are more bright lighting inside the house (it's quite dark at night) + finishing the wooden tables (as they are easy to stain).

    Ashley2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

  • This is a beautiful house and a great homebase for a trip to Tahoe. The location is fantastic and the space was even better than expected. The layout’s great, it’s well equipped and we had a super easy check in. Enjoyed every minute of our trip. and thankful we were able to stay here. We’ll return again!

    Stephen2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was outstanding. We were nervous booking with a company (first time!) but they made the process seamless from start to finish. The team was communicative and friendly. The cabin itself was beautiful, with stellar amenities - the kitchen was more complete than my own at home!! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and plan to come back to this location again.

    Lana2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing, this was our second stay - and we will be back for sure.

    Ben2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and quiet cabin with great character and decorative touches. Ideal if you want a log cabin feel with modern amenities and close to amenities. Good location - the Tahoe Rim Trail crosses the street a couple of miles up the hill and it's a short walk down to the edge of the lake. There's a small grocery and delicatessen nearby for last minute items with a good selection. Bedding and linens all good quality. Two self contained bedrooms down stairs (one with 4 decent sized bunks) and a loft style bedroom upstairs that looks over the living area. Good supply of kitchen and tableware. Efficient Nest heating thermostat controls. Clearly well cared for.

    Ken2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

This sweet bunk is in a shared room in the historic Redlight hostel- located across the train tracks from the bus and train station in downtown Truckee- walking distance to bars, restaurants, and the river. Only a short distance to popular hiking, biking, skiing, and climbing destinations. The Redlight is a casual and social, high quality hostel. Meet other adventurers in the shared dining space and lounge. Enjoy craft ice cream, beer, or wine in our bar or relax in the sauna.
The Redlight is cross between a hotel and hostel. Lodging, saloon, or brothel, the building was first built in the 1880's, burnt down in the early 1920's and was rebuilt in the late 1920's. We completely renovated it in 2016 to give it new life. We draw guests from all over the world and cultivate an eclectic, social atmosphere that feels like home. This is a unique experience in social lodging. You will have a bunk in a shared room with a shared bath, and access to all of our communal amenities. The bunk is a cozy and quality XL twin, and includes a reading light, outlet, large locker, hooks, and privacy curtains. The room has a white noise maker for sensitive sleepers.
The Redlight is in the middle of historic downtown Truckee - one block from the river. The block includes restaurants, a coffee shop, businesses, and residences.
  • Great experience - I was able to get some work done and a good night's sleep before a snowboard clinic at Squaw the next day. Friendly host and fellow guests. More amenities than I had time to enjoy in one evening.

    Elizabeth2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot if you’re planning to stay in Truckee or want to be in close proximity to Squaw/Alpine Meadows. Clean bunks, super cool staff, and great bar-best in town.

  • Great place to stay! The hosts are all super friendly and the location is very convenient. No issues with overnight parking and plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance. The train can be a little loud at night but it doesn't go by very often.

    Carlos2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • Stayed overnight for a ski day trip. Excellent location and value. Will look to stay again.

    Brian2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time I’ve ever stayed at a hostel. My mind was blown. The people were awesome and the atmosphere was super fun. I’ll absolutely go back. Another guest said they’ve stayed at many hostels while traveling and this was by far the nicest. First class: location, staff, and facility. The sauna was a great way to wrap up my day in the mountain 🏂.

    Justin2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great (and unique!) place to stay for a couple nights while skiing solo, so long as you're comfortable with the hostel arrangement. It's also quite easy to meet ski buddies while you're there.

  • This was a really cool cabin to stay in. Very close to Northstar if you are going in the winter. It's also close to stateline so you can gamble if you want. We went over to the Grand Lodge Casino in Incline Village and its a quick easy drive. They have a very nice hot tub and we both really liked this cabin. It was clean and has a cool little heater stove thing. Be aware that if you are a larger individual you may have difficulty climbing the stairs to the bed as it is narrow and tight up there. This will be at the top of our list for future trips to Northstar if we don't go with a big group. This place is highly recommended for a couple.

    Derrick2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • There is a hot tub, the property is conveniently located. The ceiling for the bed is a little bit low, we’re short so it worked out well.

    Jacqueline2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place my friends, my dog and I stayed in! Really close by everything, has a great backyard with a hot tub! Very pleased! Only thing was the pull out couch was nothing but springs, so not very comfortable.

    Lauren2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great, cozy spot with a hot tub and a pup’s dream backyard! It was lovely.

    Mel2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, our two dogs and I had the most amazing time staying at this cute and cozy cabin! It was perfect for the 4 of us! Thanks for such an amazing stay! :)

Looking for a cabin with character? Welcome to Pine Cone! Ours is an awesome A-frame with a wood-burning fireplace, and original retro décor – cozy and funky, with all the modern comforts of home. Close to HOA beach, Firesign, and Sunnyside resort.
In the heart of Sunnyside, Pine Cone is a short walk to our private HOA beach and the best brunch at the lake. Leave your city-slicker granite counter tops at home – we have what’s important: our Saturday Supper dessert cabinet contains an ice cream maker, sundae bar, fondue, and of course s’mores. (And s’meeces, the Pine Cone S’mores 3.0) Plus of course everything else you need to make yourself at home: fully equipped kitchen, laundry, etc. etc. The basics & bonuses: 3 bedrooms sleep 15 people. Dogs welcome! Wifi, printer, and standard office supplies included for you workerbees. Shampoo, toothpaste, hair dryer, iron and basics provided (though ironing board and such fancy big-city accoutrements are not – this is Tahoe!). Deck, BBQ, beach towels, board games, DVD player, dozens of DVDs, puzzles, cookbook collection for your Saturday supper planning, beach books, and more. The beach: we'll give you a key to the private homeowners association beach, featuring volleyball, basketball, bocce ball, and horseshoe courts; green grass and shady benches; clean bathrooms (very important); weddings to crash all weekend long; and Tahoe’s finest skipping stones. (Forget how to skip rocks? You ARE in need of a getaway!) The neighborhood: Sunnyside is hot for good reason! A few blocks from the docks, we’re the one spot on this side of the lake that’s walking distance from not one but two rockin’ brunch places. While removed from the mean streets (ha!) of Tahoe City, when you forget something at the grocery store we’re only 6 minutes down the road. South Lake has curling and all (message Colleen if you want to try), but it's Vegas compared to this: North Tahoe is casino-free pockets of quiet cabins from another era, with more dogs and kids littering the middle of the street than cars. Oh, and it’s an easy 3.5hrs from SF, assuming you miss traffic and drive like we do. If you drive an electric vehicle, you can plug in at our cabin too. Let us know and we'll give you the details. The activities: you really plan more than brunch, beach & wine? Ambitious. Okay, fine: we’ve got the hook-up for that too. We’ll tell you where to rent a boat, find the good hikes, and hop the local watering holes. Look us up on the map and you’ll see: we’re close to biking, river rafting, sledding, skiing, and snowboarding (Squaw, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Homewood et al.), the Tahoe Rim Trail, and all that outdoorsy goodness. Plus when you get here, you’ll find our binder of local tips that could only be amassed by a family that’s been here 28 years. Please note a 1-week minimum is required for Christmas and New Year's. If you'd like to visit, please ensure you have a profile with picture and tell us a bit about the group that's coming and what you're hoping for in your stay.
  • Cabin was so great! Full of amenities, great beds, and beautiful views, the host responded quickly to all queries. We would love to come back!

  • Awesome place to stay in. Within walking distance to the Lake and the Free Shuttle service that takes you to Squaw Valley Resort. A 5 minute drive to the Grocery store and restaurants in Tahoe City. The place has central heating and a fireplace, really fast WiFi, fully loaded kitchen with spices and condiments, plates, cups, knifes, pots, etc... there were 9 people in my party and none of us ever felt like we were invading anyone else’s personal space because this place is so big. The bathrooms also had more than enough Soap, shampoo, conditioner and bath towels. The list of all the great features of this place just goes on and on, you’d have to stay here so you can witness this wonderful experience for yourself. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place!

  • Janet’s place is the perfect place to stay! We were 15 people and we had so much room. Her home is super clean, cozy, and everything is labeled. Also beautiful quiet neighborhood. My family and I were so impressed with how much there is to do around this neighborhood. We will definitely be back!

    Wendy2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time and would definitely go there again

    Sieglinde2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a great cabin this is! My family of six had a perfect weekend in Tahoe. Everything we wanted to be close to was within 10 min or less. The open layout of the downstairs area made it easy to visit, cook, and enjoy the wood fireplace. The cabin was very clean and cozy. We can’t wait to go back to Tahoe City and stay at Janet’s place!

  • You can't do better than the pine cone!

    Bohdan2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was absolutely awesome, cozy, and just what we were looking for. We came up for a two day ski trip to Homewood and Squaw Valley and this was the PERFECT spot between the two. Everything was easy, Janet is a great host who gives good instructions, and we’d absolutely stay again. Thank you!

    Michael2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place turned out to be better than expected. It’s super convenient, in a quiet neighborhood. The layout is awesome, its very comfortable and everything is pretty well stocked. Janet was very thorough in all the descriptions and the rental process and left nothing to surprise. The value is outstanding. We have been to (far) more expensive places and now it’s hard to see the point of paying more. This place is a gem. Book it now.

  • We had an awesome stay. Great location, easy walk to restaurants, shops, the beach, playground and river. Cozy space, perfect for our small family of 4. Our toddler had a blast running around the grass field behind us. Newer bathroom and comfy bed. We didn’t do any cooking, but you could easily whip something up in the small, but well stocked kitchen. Thanks again for the stay!

You'll love this rustic-modern A-frame cabin that is well equipped and ready for you to enjoy after a day of adventures in Lake Tahoe! Dominated by natural woodwork and rich organic tones, the decor and furnishings echo the surrounding beauty of the area. From the furnished deck with big lake views to the outdoor gas firepit, this is true Tahoe living! Create memories year after year at this dog-friendly home that strikes the right balance of quiet solitude coupled with a fantastic location! Perched on popular Skyline Drive, this North Lake Tahoe vacation rental stands out as a cozy cabin with everything you want in a getaway.   As you soak in the hot tub on the lower deck, gaze out at the magnificent view of Lake Tahoe. Summer invites you to take an afternoon snooze in the hammock. The upper deck features a gas grill and lounge chairs for a perfect barbecue. There's also a gas firepit to warm up to while stargazing. Just inside the upper deck doors is the cozy living room. Heated in part by a gas stove, it features a flatscreen TV with many entertainment options via Blu-ray, DVD, VCR, and cable. WiFi is also provided. If you prefer to unplug while relaxing, head down to the game room and challenge your buddies to some friendly competition over a round of pool. In the space-saving kitchen, you'll have all the major appliances and tools, including a gas stove and dishwasher, needed to fix a simple snack or a family-style dinner. Dine casually at the quaint bench-style table. Fix coffee in the morning, then take just a few steps with your steaming mug to the deck and watch the sun climb over the lake. On this main floor you'll also have one of the three bedrooms, as well as, a full bathroom. Find a spacious queen-size bed in this bedroom, tucked cozily into the vaulted ceilings. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, both with two double beds and deck access. One of these upper bedrooms boasts gorgeous lake views and access to a full bathroom. Downstairs, along with the game room, is a queen-size futon and a twin-size futon. Another full bathroom is available for guests on this level as well. Dogs love Tahoe! If you have dogs under 40 pounds, they're invited to stay here. Please note that there is an additional pet fee. The game room also has a newer washer and dryer so that you can freshen up your family's vacation wardrobe any time you want (like, while you're in the hot tub). There will be certain closets and/or cabinets that are locked at the owner's request for some personal belongings. We have local property manager engaged to help with any issues that may arise throughout your stay. The cabin is located in Talmont Estates and sits up above Lake Tahoe with panoramic views of the lake. Note that because of the elevation climb in the winter (from lake level up to where the homes are in Talmont Estates), a 4WD and / or chains are highly recommended. The Lake Tahoe Park Association is a private, gated beach that you'll have access to while staying at this property. Having access to this beach is the next best thing to staying on the lake as you'll be able to enjoy lakefront privileges such as two private piers, private swim area, picnic / bbq areas (reservations are recommended), basketball court, bocce ball court, horseshoe pit, grassy lawns and more. Note that the beach has limited morning hours in which dogs are allowed - see sign posted at beach for additional details. Many of the most desirable Lake Tahoe attractions are under 20 miles away. Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley resorts are just 10 miles away, offering a full menu of both outdoor and luxury activities. Ski at Homewood Resort, just five miles south. Eight miles north is the dog-friendly Carnelian Bay beach. Meanwhile, Tahoe City Commons Beach is just three miles away where you can enjoy free outdoor concerts and movies during the summer time months. Enjoy Firesign Cafe (arguably the best breakfast spot in Tahoe) just down at the bottom of the hill along with the popular West Shore Market just across the street. Or, if you're desiring lakefront dining, the ever popular Sunnyside Restaurant is right there, as well. You can also catch the paved bike trail and head out for miles of leisurely enjoyment. If you want to discover more North Lake Tahoe attractions you won't have to look far. The popular Kings Beach is only 12 miles away, and offers a sprawling sandy beach and is surrounded by tons of family-friendly restaurants and watercraft rentals. For a bit of history, head up to Truckee, right off of I-80. Hiking and biking trails blanket the area; you may never traverse the same one twice. • Great stay at a spacious, well-stocked place in a great location, overlooking a stunning view of the lake. Three-floored, vertically-built apartment with a quaint fireplace for some cozy time in the family room with your family and friends.

    Lynn2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The views are spectacular. The living room of this A-frame has huge windows so you can enjoy views of the lake while visiting on the couch or eating at the kitchen table. This house would be perfect for a family because there are split levels and good soundproofing with all of the wood. We were visiting Tahoe with friends from out of the country and were able to easily entertain at the house as well as explore the lake. I highly recommend this airbnb!

  • What an incredible place to spend a few days while exploring Tahoe. This has to be the best value cabin in the area with breath-taking views from the living area, deck, hot tub and front garden. Yes, the cabin has a rustic feel, but many of the issues mentioned in other reviews have since been resolved by the owner. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

    Hamish2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place exceeded all expectations! The views are amazing, the living room is warm and cozy with fire and lazy boys, and the basement with pool table and hot tub kept everyone entertained. The sunrise from this place is unreal. Lake was purple and just looked majestic. 10/10.

  • The room was clean and well cared for. No noticeable odors and quiet. The bed although small for two adults had soft sheets. There were plenty of pillows and towels for our use. Directions were clear and sent to me on time. Other amenities include a fridge and microwave we used and coffee maker available we did not use. Bathroom clean and water flow adequate. It was cheaper than the hotel rate but did not include the breakfast, which would be convenient for others while for us was a good “discount” since we would rather go out to breakfast anyway. Owner was responsive.

  • This place is exactly as it is written. Very clean and beautifully decorated with a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe. You’re right on the beach! We were there for skiing, so unfortunately, we weren’t able to take advantage of the lake as we often arrived back at Bill’s place when the sun was already down. It’s a great location, within walking distance of several stores and restaurants (The Dam Cafe is one of our favorites for breakfast). We felt safe, warm and cozy in Bill’s place. I’m bookmarking it as one I’d like to return to in the summer!

  • Wow. We stayed here for a two day ski trip; truly a five star service experience. The room itself was great - nothing particularly fancy, but everything one might need - clean, and had a nice little balcony. Hot tub was awesome. The real wringer was the location. This place is about 100 feet from the start of the snow. Wake up at 8:30 and on the mountain at 9:00 (post coffee and breakfast) The staff made life exceptionally easy, each contact point was accommodating, from allowing us access to the club house to change and park in the garage early in the morning on the day we arrived, to great clarity and just overall friendliness, attention and support for our needs - all clear signs of a well managed organization. Will stay again.

The bed is actually not in the same spot the picture shows but it's actually works much better in the place it is in. It was nice to have the roku, we watched a lot of Netflix. The kitchen was perfect, we didn't do any cooking just had some snacks but it had all the amenities we needed. Shower water is very hot so just be careful to check temp before jumping in. Overall we had a great stay & would love to come back. The location was everything & just the whole cabin in the woods atmosphere really put is in the winter Tahoe mood. :)

  • Perfect one night stay for a Valentine’s Day snowboarding trip.

    Elliot2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Donna's place was clean and cozy! It was very centrally located in Kings Beach and was only a 15 min drive away from Northstar, where we were snowboarding. It was also steps away from the Lake Tahoe shore. Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Great little cabin that offers the essentials and necessities for a stay. Nice bed, kitchen, and bathroom. Only thing I felt could be improved is the shower controls (very hard to get to desired temperature) and the heater is very slow to heat. But still, great bang for your buck cabin. Will stay again!

  • Very attentive and thoughtful. We had an issue at first arrival, which was handled immediately and professionally. This host is excellent and made us feel so welcome and as if we were at home. She also suggested things to do in the area! Wonderful trip that couldn’t have been any better!!

  • Cute little spot, very convenient location nearby the Lake and all it has to offer. It's a bit cozy for big people like myself, but hey, that's my life. The small space heater has enough power to heat up the entire abode.

    Anthony2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Space was nice, quiet. It was small which made it cozy, very private and to ourselves. The bed was very comfortable. It had a heater which was a plus. The only thing that was confusing was the door lock but I just reread the instructions and I made it work. Would recommend to anyone who is staying for a nice romantic trip.

  • Cute little cabin, host responded quickly, great amenities. Very nice place to stay

    Amanda2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very cute and quiet. A great place for a couple to spend their time at Lake Tahoe. If you’re particular about your pillows bring your own as I didn’t sleep the best I would have liked but still enjoyed the stay!

    Andrew2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute little space. Everything was clean. Had Netflix and other tv options. Everything worked great. Heater was cozy. Hot water with great pressure. Everything was so precious inside. The location was great and quiet and safe. Would recommend. Really feel like the price was a steal! Would 100% stay again.

    Bailee2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • It’s an amazing little cabin perfect for two people or a couple. They have the place perfectly stocked to cook small meals and there’s little touches like extra pillows and a hairdryer which I totally forgot. Keep in mind that there isn’t a dishwasher so if you plan on cooking regularly during your stay, then you’ll also have to dishes regularly. We would definitely book this again if we plan on going to Tahoe!

  • Great location

    Ross2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This rustic, cozy cabin is in a prime location for sledding and skiing! It’s right down the street from Granlibakken where we took the kids to go sledding and the cabin is on a gentle hill where the kids were able to play and sled. The neighborhood is adorable. Alpine, Homewood, and squaw are all within a 10-15 min drive and downtown Tahoe city is about 5 minutes away. The kids loved the game room. The metal spiral stairs weren’t ideal for our little kids, but overall we had a great time!

  • Very convenient location! Perfect for what we needed since we had friends getting married at the Granlibakken!

    Kristina2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Tahoe City was great! The location is very close to town, but also located in a quiet neighborhood away from the main road. The cabin was clean, spacious, and filled with activities. We were stuck indoors quite a bit since it was a bit cold and rainy that weekend but luckily the cabin was a great place to be. The house has a great 2nd story patio which I hope to use more someday :)

Paper towels, soap, dishwasher detergent, cooking oil, etc. and anything else you may need but don't want to think about running to the store for were all in abundance. Check-in and check-out were incredibly simple and quick. The space was comfortable, clean, and the host replied to questions immediately with detailed answers. Highly recommend this property and any other managed by Shevy. Thanks for the great stay!

Bunk bed in a shared FEMALE ONLY room w/ a shared bathroom. The Redlight hostel is located across the train tracks from the bus and train station in downtown Truckee- walking distance to bars, restaurants, and the river. Only a short distance to popular hiking, biking, skiing, and climbing destinations. The Redlight is a casual and social, high quality hostel. Meet other adventurers in the shared dining space and lounge. Enjoy craft ice cream, beer, or wine in our bar or relax in the sauna.

We completely renovated it in 2016 to give it new life. We draw guests from all over the world and cultivate an eclectic, social atmosphere that feels like home. This is a unique experience in social lodging. You will have a bunk in a FEMALE dorm with a shared bath down the hall, and access to all of our communal amenities. The bunk is a cozy and quality XL twin, and includes a reading light, large locker, outlet, hooks, and privacy curtains. The room has a white noise maker for sensitive sleepers.
The Redlight is in the middle of historic downtown Truckee - one block from the river. The block includes restaurants, a coffee shop, businesses, and residences.
  • Super fun place in a great location- close to a lot of skiing spots!

  • I stayed in an all female shared room. Everyone was super friendly and the room was quiet. The little bunk was actually quite cozy. The communal bathrooms were all clean, every time I went in there. I did not take advantage of the sauna but perhaps next time. Loved the little bar where you could get drinks and ice cream! Red light is walking distance to all you need to eat or drink in DT Truckee. They are a short drive to many popular spots. A gem, and great for a budget traveler.

  • I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels in my day , and none were as clean AND ambient at this one. great little spot and I enjoyed how clean and orderly the kitchen was. Also, black out curtains in the communal bedrooms are a nice touch .

  • Nice place to stay that is centrally located. The bar is a fun place to hang out and socialize. This is a great place if you want a traditional hostel experience and a lot of interaction with other travelers. Shared space, so please be respectful of quite hours. Just because there is a curtain for privacy, does not mean it is sound proof.

A five minute or so stroll to Paige meadows , a half hour trek to the private access beach, all without having to drive anywhere. The hosts were extremely communicative and flexible. • Looooved this place. The place itself was very clean and well organized. Kerri and Shelton even offered us a late check out so we could take time to enjoy the beautiful snowy morning. The location is 2 mins away from Tahoe city which is awesome! But there's a pretty stiff uphill (it's short tho) so when there's snow, you will need an AWD car, snow tires, or sturdy tire chains. (We brought a front-wheel-drive SUV and had tire cables but it couldn't go up the hill when snow was pouring, so we had to park the car on the street which is 7 mins walking distance) Oh, the shower was amazing since there are ✌️ showerheads. Overall, I definitely recommend this place and will go back when it gets warm!

  • This was a great place to stay when we went skiing over a weekend. It is well located and had everything we needed.

  • Cozy cabin right near the water and the beach of lake Tahoe. Super close to shops and food and a quick drive or bus (picks up across the street) to the ski resorts.

  • Donna's cabin was a nice cozy space to stay while spending some time skiing. It's perfect for short trips and was nice having a stove to be able to cook dinner also. The phone reception and wi-fi aren't great in the cabin, but really wasn't a big deal for a short stay. You can instead spend your time hanging out by the beach which is super close.

  • This little place is nice for the price. The stove did not work while we were there but that was not too much of an inconvenience. Overall this was a nice little place right by King’s Beach.

  • The little cabin was perfect and had all the bare necessities. Comfy space with a working heater and everything you need to cook a meal. Confusion at check in, but host was not hard to get a hold of. It’s RIGHT by the lake with a market and coffee/food nearby. Definitely would stay again.
