Located on the edge of an attractive South Norfolk village, The Snug is a self-contained annex in part of a 17th Century Cottage. A village shop and a butcher/deli are a short walk away and the centre of Norwich is only a 20 minute drive. This area is popular with cyclists due to the quiet routes and a host of cycle friendly cafes. The accommodation consists of a double bedroom, shower room, dining/working area and kitchenette. There is an off road parking space and bicycle storage if required.
  • Liz and James are new to airbnb that their standard is extremely high. The accommodation was spotless and very private and quiet. Plenty of off-road parking right by the door. Totally self-contained.

  • Outstanding and the friendliest host I’ve met so far. The house is amazing and room spotlessly clean. If Carlsberg did airb&b then this is their place! 🤣

  • Julia is an incredible host, I felt very comfortable and welcomed the whole time I was there. Beautiful, clean house, with a very spacious private en-suite room. I was only here for a couple of nights, but they were nothing short of outstanding Thanks for having me

    Steven2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julia is a great host; communicative, quick to respond and extremely welcoming. Her home, a converted mill, is located in a quiet and truly bucolic setting on the riverside. The room was large and clean, as was the bathroom. The kitchen area big enough to not get under each other's feet and very cosy. The property is walking/cycling distance from the centre, or 5 mins by car. All in all a great stay. Thank you Julia. ps this was my first time in Norwich and I really enjoyed, a beautiful, small city with a good vibe :-)

    Ryan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful relaxing location but still very much central. A wonderful home and host who made me feel very welcome.

    Joanne2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing accommodation, steeped in character and charm. Such an idyllic location, right on the river with the soothing sound of the water flowing under the house. I received such a warm welcome from Julia and immediately felt relaxed and at home. This is a very sociable and relaxed household , there’s plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the river, and it’s so peaceful. Location is perfect too, only 30 minutes walk to the city centre, where there’s plenty to see and do. I have already booked a return visit. Would highly recommend staying here,

    Veronica2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and quite location. Large Old Mill with loads of character. Julia makes you feel very welcome and the Mill sits in a lovely location with it's own water sports to the rear. Would definitely stop here again as it is great value for money.

Built around 1870 The Stables at Hempnall House is a luxurious two bedroom property surrounded by gardens, woods and fields yet only 20 minutes drive from central Norwich, the capital of East Anglia with a wide variety of amenities, shops and entertainment. Converted in 2018 The Stables has two bedrooms, a bathroom and separate shower room. High quality fittings have been used throughout whilst the original beams and stable doors lend a touch of authentic charm
Either the terrace, overlooking our private wood, or the sofa in front of the wood burner (unlimited logs are included), are the perfect places to relax and take in the view. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, small oven and microwave, fridge and a full sized dishwasher. There is an abundance of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Why not invite your friends to dinner, the dining table seats six (or eight)! Our chickens provide a point of interest and sometimes even eggs. Children are encouraged to see if there are any. There is a gas barbecue available for your use. Hosts Kate and Colin live on site but you'll be the only people in the stables. They enjoy meeting guests and sharing their country home and grounds. We have parking for two cars outside The Stables, and adequate broadband. Secure cycle storage is available
A bridle path leads directly from the property to Hempnall, about a mile away, where there is a butcher and delicatessen, a well stocked shop, newsagent and post office (open, amazingly from 6am to 9pm seven days a week) and a petrol station. An artisan baker offers a selection of loaves every Saturday, ask for details. There is a popular community bar in the Old Mill which opens every Friday and Saturday evening. The Three Horseshoes public house, ten minutes walk away, is well known for its Sunday lunchtime carvery. The local Indian restaurant delivers, minimum spend £20
  • Beautiful property in a stunning location. Lovely for a rural escape. Great value for money.

A beautifully refurbished cart shed with a modern, rustic interior and fabulous outdoor seating area. As the name implies, our Rural Hideaway is a detached building nestled in the midst of peaceful farmland offering undisturbed views of wide skies and never-ending fields. It is a brilliant base for two who are looking to enjoy easy access to both coastal and rural South Norfolk/Suffolk and just the place to relax and breathe in some fresh Norfolk air!
The cosy and comfortable bedroom is accessed by a set of stairs above the log store at the side of the cart shed. It has a king-sized bed, bedside tables and lamps, a dressing table with a chair, Freeview TV and large Velux window. There is also a Nespresso© coffee machine, tea making facilities and fresh milk provided in the room. The bathroom is a light and airy space with a shower, WC, basin, Velux window and clothing drawers. Luxury toiletries are provided as well as a hair-dryer and GHD© hair straighteners. The ground floor of the cart shed is an open-fronted, undercover seating area and a wonderfully relaxing spot to unwind by the log burner and adopt a slower pace of life! There is also a dining table, gas BBQ and fridge in this space for you to use throughout your stay.

  • Jack is a wonderful host, really friendly and thoughtful. The place is absolutely beautiful and in a wonderful setting. The room was warm and clean, and the downstairs eating area was lovely with an amazing bbq! There are lots of nice touches to make our stay special. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back another time.

  • Quick responses. Check in was hassle free. The accommodation was fantastic and very clean. Surrounded by beautiful gardens. Breakfast was provided and ready for us when we woke up. The Nespresso machine, Weber BBQ and wood burning stove are a great touch! We only wish we could have stayed longer! We’ll be back with the kids!

    Matthew2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a mini break, in the countryside away from everything. Made full use of the log burner and BBQ available (shop for food prior to arriving unless eating out). Walks in the fields nearby and not too long a drive from the coast. Very warm, welcoming and helpful hosts. Would definitely recommend this Jack and Lucy’s space to others and would love to return at some point.

    Tom2019-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful Airbnb! My friend and I spent a lovely couple of days at Jack and Lucy's beautiful converted barn and it is JUST as lovely in real life. You are surrounded by peaceful fields & pretty views. The converted barn is so cosy, perfect for us & even though it was May, the weather was still rather cold so the warm heaters were definitely much appreciated. Jack is an incredible host, always quick to respond to any queries plus gave us some great advice and tips on places to go. On our last night we took advantage of the lovely log fire which Jack kindly lit for us (thank you for also letting us use your microwave to reheat our leftovers!) The fairly lights come on in the evening giving a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this delightful little hideaway & would love to return again sometime! Thanks again Jack and Lucy!

SELF-CONTAINED private studio (attached to stunning home) with OWN SEPARATE ENTRANCE. We aim to achieve the comfort and style of a boutique hotel, with the cosiness and relaxed feel of home... FEAT: *New, super comfy KING SIZE bed *Stunning ensuite w/ walk-in dbl shower *Lux toiletries *Underfloor heating *Free wifi *32" TV *Desk/table for working/eating *Hotel-style "kitchenette" w/ microwave; mini fridge; kettle, teas & Nespresso *Variety of delicious breakfasts (charge applies)
We love our home and hope you will too! We are an easy-going, relaxed couple who enjoy meeting our guests but respect their privacy. As the studio is self-contained, you may not see much of us - unless you choose to of course! The house is in a rural area and beautifully peaceful, despite being so close to the centre of Norwich. You might even spot some cows in the fields opposite! Perfect for a get-away-from-it-all escape! We are extremely well located for Norwich (just 12 minutes drive to the city centre). We have plenty of private parking if you're driving; otherwise, it's a short hop in a taxi from Norwich train station (cost around £12). Our home is ideally situated if you are visiting the beautiful, historic city of Norwich; Norwich's university (University of East Anglia); the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital (NNUH); the John Innes Centre; Norwich Research Park; and Norfolk's wider attractions (Norfolk and Suffolk Coast and beaches incl. Holkham, Brancaster, Cromer, Gt Yarmouth, Wells, Southwold, The Norfolk Broads etc.) There are some fantastic walks and great local restaurants nearby for a special meal. We recommend The Wildebeest and Stoke Mill at Stoke Holy Cross, or Benedicts Restaurant, Farmyard Restaurant, Roger Hickman's Restaurant, Bishop's & The Ivy in Norwich itself. You will need to book a few days in advance for these as they are a bit special and very popular! Just a few minutes away, and for a chilled-out evening with no need to book, we recommend The Sugar Beat Eating House, The Red Lion at Eaton, The King's Head at Bawburgh - or a drink or two at The World's End, Mulbarton.
  • Great stay, would definitely come back again. Very clean accommodation

    Scott2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The space is exactly as the photos and descriptions suggest. You will have a very comfortable bed and wonderful on suite shower room. Lovely homely touches too.

  • Harriet’s place is gorgeous- stylish, sparkly clean, comfortable and warm. It’s really easy to get to Norwich by car, particularly UEA but also the City centre - we went to Wolf & Social (a restaurant) and Cinema City. But we also enjoyed discovering local footpaths and commons and The World’s End pub in the next village. Could not recommend highly enough....

    Jane2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

Bright and airy room with private entrance. We are located very close to the city centre 5 minute bus ride or 25 minute walk. Local shops, pub, restaurants, supermarkets all within walking distance. There is free safe parking close to the house also. I will state I do have a dog, he's very old but very friendly and loves lots of attention.
My neighbourhood is a quiet, peaceful area. My home is opposite a primary school so can get busy around 3pm other than that its the standard traffic. This cant be heard from guest room.

This bright, warm converted centuries-old cart shed has a glazed facade to maximise your enjoyment of Norfolk’s beautiful big sky and spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Far-reaching views make it perfect for spotting wildlife - particularly owls - from the comfort of the sofa. There are country walks directly from the gate, and a private garden overlooking open countryside where you can watch the sunset and enjoy a BBQ.
Garden Cottage is accessed by a path through the Old Farmhouse Garden. It comprises an open-plan kitchen/diner/sitting room, plus a bedroom with ensuite shower room. Situated on Wacton Common, Garden Cottage is under two miles from Long Stratton, where you will find shops, pubs, places to eat, and takeaways. A walk across Wacton Common takes you to Great Moulton, home of the Fox and Hounds pub. Garden Cottage is a peaceful retreat that is perfectly situated for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk. The historical city of Norwich is 14 miles away, as is the market town of Bungay on the edge of The Broads National Park. Wymondham is under 10 miles, and the small coastal town of Southwold and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 30 miles.
  • We had an amazing stay at the cottage this weekend. Highly recommended if you want a quite family getaway with amazing views from the rooms. Would love go back and to enjoy a summer break soon!!

    Prakash2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is super cute with amazing views out of the window. We slept with the curtains open one night, waking up to the view of the fields. Absolute best way to wake up, no street lights just clean and clear :-) x

  • Lovely cottage, very private. Gorgeous views. Lovely waking up in the morning to see the cows plodding past the cottage. Fully equipped kitchen. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left. 2 mile walk to the pub the Fox and hounds at Great Moulton, the food was very good. It’s definitely a place we’d like to come back to.

  • Sarah’s place is lovely. Floor to ceiling glass all along one wall makes it gorgeously bright, but it also feels warm and cosy with nice decor, a couple of sofas and good heating. We enjoyed the nice spacious dimensions inside up to the roof and beams. Our baby son was very happy in the space as well. Sarah was very welcoming, but you also very much have your own space and privacy which was great.

    Sebastian2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place was wonderful and immaculate. Amazing view to wake up to!

    Ben2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A really cosy little place, tucked away in unspoilt countryside. Garden Cottage is cosy, spotlessly clean, and with its large windows, offers a beautiful view over the Norfolk countryside. It is beautifully appointed. The bed and sofas are comfortable and there is everything you need such as a washing machine and dishwasher. The garden is small but very pretty. Sarah was very efficient and replied to any query promptly. The milk and biscuits on arrival were a nice touch too. I would highly recommend the Garden Cottage for a few days away from the hustle and bustle.

    Catherine2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place was incredibly peaceful. We had a very relaxing couple of days looking out over the fields. A perfect place to decompress

    Tom2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s cottage is a wonderful cosy haven away from all noise & distractions. It’s got everything a couple might need, or family with a little child, to properly chill out. It is clean, well appointed, with comfy beds & sofas. Nicely decorated & furnished yet homely with books, games, tea milk & biscuits, we felt we were properly on a secret escape holiday. Amazing views, it really offers value for money. Sarah is quick with communication, full of details and suggestions, so we could easily plan our stay even when we arrived much later than expected & needed urgent advice on where to get dinner! Despite getting there in the dark, Sarah’s instructions meant we had no problems finding the rural location or accessing the property. We found Sarah to be very friendly, she respected privacy whilst also making herself available to help. We will ask to book again, and will probably also consider Sarah’s other larger accommodation on site for a bigger family stay in future.

  • This was my 2nd Airbnb house I’ve stayed at, the room was very spacious, extremely clean and had a great en-suite. Close to local pubs and shops if required, overall a very nice house in a lovely area. Beverley was more than helpful with anything I needed. Would definitely stay again.

  • Great house, lovely facilities and very clean

    Keith2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Its a lovely house, great room with lovely ensuite. Slightly noisy due to being a newish house(thinner walls) but it really is a lovely house with parking, i would defo stay again.

    Andrew2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, spacious double room with en-suite bathroom. Beverley is a friendly, attentive but unobtrusive host, who gave plenty of helpful tips for the local area. A great find as I work in the area fairly regularly.

    Michael2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Bev was a very thoughtful host and went out of her way to make my stay a home from home experience. The accommodation was great as well as the coffee/tea facilities in my room, which had a very large en‐suite. The location was also great the bus stop very close with about a 30 min journey into Norwich. Would not hesitate to stay again great place. 😊

  • Adrian's house is clean, quiet and tidy. Everytime I had any question I got answer straight away. I must say the best thing in the house are the ladies. Adrian's grandma lives in the house and doesn't speak english but it never stops her to come and help with everything, a really lovely old lady!

** All reservations include a complimentary breakfast!** Your very own bolt hole in the country, the Cartlodge nestles in the grounds of a 16th Century Manor House in the peaceful village of Tacolneston, near the thriving, historical city of Norwich. Recently refurbished, the Cartlodge boasts all modern amenities whilst still embracing the four hundred year history of the Grade 2 listed Manor and grounds.
Come and cosy up in the lodge, where there will be hot chocolate and marshmallows, cookies, a host of movies on Netflix as well as our usual tasty complimentary breakfast and a selection of teas and coffees. Go for a bracing winter walk on one of the beautiful nearby beaches, enjoy a glass of wine in front of a roaring pub fire or why not pop into Norwich for some retail therapy. The Cartlodge is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside, strolling round one of the nearby historical market towns or taking a trip into the city, with it’s stunning castle, cobbled streets and cafes, coupled with the impressive Chapelfield and Castlemall shopping centres. Or simply use the time to relax outside the lodge on your patio with a glass of wine and a good book. The beautifully maintained gardens and bountiful orchard are alive with the sound of birds, often joined by woodpeckers, muntjacs and pheasants on the lawn! The Cartlodge is very well equipped with a shower room and compact kitchen on the ground floor and a large open plan sleeping and living area on the first floor. Outside there is a patio and seating area overlooking the Manor gardens and to the rear is the secluded orchard with more seating for alfresco dining. Although not far from The Manor House, the Cart Lodge has a great sense of privacy and comfort.
Tacolneston is a village steeped in history, with many listed buildings, dating back over 500 years. There is a pub and a Chinese takeaway within walking distance, and several lovely country pubs serving delicious homemade food within a short drive.
  • We spent a really lovely weekend at the Cartlodge- absolutely perfect for a couple's retreat or even a little solo getaway to the country. Lucy was a fab host, the place itself was clean and cozy, and the added touch of having breakfast provided felt really special!

    Beth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great to relax and enjoy some walks through neighboring fields. Worth noting that when we were there the local pub down the road only accepts cash in the bar (card for meals though, which were lovely actually)

    Colin2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stylish cottage, feels spacious and airy, very comfortable bed, but if you're tall you do have to remember the sloping walls upstairs! Spotlessly clean, and bread/cereals/butter/jam/milk provided for breakfast. Lucy was a marvellous host, and her recommendation of the Green Dragon pub was spot-on. Recommended.

  • Very comfortable and good location to visit Norfolk.

    Jennifer2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was such an amazing stay at Lucy’s, such a friendly and homely atmosphere and it really made Christmas special. There if we needed anything but everything was perfect!

    Abby2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely Weekend at the Cartlodge. The property was not just clean and beautiful but also really homely. It was cleverly laid out with everything you need and more. Lucy added so many thoughtful touches that really made the stay feel extra special - from homemade bread delivered to the door to a little Christmas tree and decorations. It was the perfect weekend getaway and Lucy was an amazing host. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little country retreat. We'll be sure to come back.

    Libby2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were made to feel extremely welcome as soon as we arrived at The Cartlodge. All the little extra touches such as the homemade cookies and bread were simply divine! The Cartlodge had everything we needed for a getaway and was very cosy and comfortable. We will definitely be returning again. Thankyou Lucy. Mr & Mrs. Neill

For over a hundred years, this characterful old dairy was where the cows were milked at Hawthorn Farm. Sympathetically and luxuriously converted into a two-bedroom cottage in 2017, it is self-contained and completely detached. Inside, original walls, beams and vaulted ceilings give it a spacious, airy feel. It has its own fully-equipped kitchenette, and a bathroom with a large shower, WC and basin. The spacious 18 x 14 foot carpeted living space has two huge comfy sofas and a table and chairs.
Tharston is a small, very quiet and picturesque farming village - you can really appreciate the big Norfolk sky here. It offers lovely walks along the Tas Valley, so it's perfect for a rural getaway. If you are looking for peaceful rest, this is an ideal place. Nearest shops, all amenities and several take-aways are in Long Stratton, the nearest village, 1.5 miles away. Tharston is just off the A140, nine miles from the medieval city of Norwich, five miles to the small market towns of Bungay and Wymondham and under 30 miles from the many beautiful beaches and walks of the Norfolk coast.
  • Would recommend Kirsty's place. Very happy with everything.

  • The Old Dairy is a perfect place to stay. The beds were exceedingly comfortable and we were close to Norwich which is full of history and good shops and we spent the day there and went to the playhouse in the evening.

    Caroline2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

The apartment is set in part of a Georgian country house surrounded by large communal gardens overlooking a lake, fields and woodland. It has many original features yet a contemporary finish. Close to the University of East Anglia (UEA), Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, John Innes Research Park. We are located close to A11 & A47 and less than 10 min. into the city centre by car. Park & ride bus 500m away & on bike route. Good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers.
It's a quirky room with a traditional double bed (4ft. x 6ft.). It feels very comfortable and cosy and the surroundings are placid and very pleasant as there is a nice view of the garden which is bordered by woodland. The main road is not visible, we are down a private drive where there is space to park.
We are in a pretty country location but only about 10 minutes from the city centre. The market town of Wymondham is about the same distance south where you can visit the Abbey and perhaps eat at the very old Green Dragon pub. Hethersett is our nearest village where there is a small Tesco and The Queen's Head pub, also good for food. Because of the access to the A47, it is easy to explore more of Norfolk, up to the coast and over to The Broads for instance.
  • Very comfy nights sleep. Great hospitality. Beautiful surroundings and views. Perfect for those wanting a lovely and peaceful location just outside Norwich.

This room has a comfy double bed, feather pillows, cotton sheets, TV, chinoiserie desk, chair and chest of drawers. It is perfect for a professional or parents visiting students at UEA. The shower room is new, clean and shared with other guests, and we also provide towels for our guests. Please note, tea and coffee facilities are in the kitchen downstairs.
My husband and I are happy to invite guests into our home. We have two rooms listed on air bnb and the rooms share a shower room. The family sleep on a different floor so the space is quite private. Both rooms have a TV, and let me know if you'd like to borrow a hair dryer for your stay. We welcome people with cat allergies - you'll be in the company of my allergic husband!

This bright and spacious 2 bedroom house is only two miles from Norwich train station and a 10 minute drive from the city centre, and yet you’ll feel like you’ve been dropped off at a countryside retreat. The modern open-plan living space overlooks a beautiful walled garden leading down to the river. Perfect for guests who are just in Norwich for a few nights and need easy access to the city, but also a great spot for a quiet and secluded break.
Unusually, this house is perfect for both nipping into the city centre and also for relaxation. The interior is bright, full of light, and decorated with care and attention to detail. Open Plan Living Room + Kitchen Under floor heating. Modern kitchen with large Rangemaster and all the basics you’d need to cook. Large pine dining table with accent lighting and bifolds overlooking the garden and river. Comfy sofa and TV with DVD player and plenty of DVDs to borrow. Reading corner with lots of books and board games. Downstairs Toilet Small toilet under stairs, where you’ll also find a washing machine/dryer. Master Bedroom Large relaxing master bedroom with king size bed, comfy cushions and textiles. Small Bedroom Single bedroom with trundle bed that can also be made up. Please note that access to the en-suite bathroom will be disrupted by an extra bed being made up as it is a small room! En-suite bathroom This bathroom serves both bedrooms via jack-and-jill doors. Great powerful shower. Parking Free parking on the street outside. There are often spaces available in the lay-by opposite the house. Please note that you cannot park in front of the Sea Scouts entrance.
In the 19th century Old Lakenham was where people came for their holidays, to sit by the river and have picnics! There are lots of historical houses by the river, including two mill houses that you’ll see from the end of the garden. Now Old Lakenham is very residential and quiet, but very well situated to access the city.
  • What a beautiful space! We had a lovely stay, sadly didn’t have enough time to relax in the lovely garden. Great hosts, we would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • Great place to stay, really spacious and airy but also nice and warm with the underfloor heating. We had no problem parking any time of day. It was the perfect location for us - a few minutes to the centre of town but also feels like the country. Hannah met us on arrival and was very welcoming.

    Karen2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah’s place is terrific. It’s got a large and comfortable living room and kitchen, and a big bedroom with a comfortable bed. It’s located in a safe neighbourhood within walking distance to the city centre and grocery stores, and easy to get on ring roads to get out of town quickly and easily. Hannah was quick to respond to any communications, and she welcomed us when we got here. Thanks Hannah!

  • Lovely stylish house with a wonderful warm snug feel to it & the kitchen / living room layout is perfect for socialising. Great location too, near to shops & a pleasant walk into the city. Hannah & Andrew were very welcoming hosts as well. Hopefully we'll come back in the summer to experience the garden with the river at the end at its finest. Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Vicky2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic couple of nights here with our two kids (aged 5&3). It's a really great space, wonderfully furbished and much bigger than we expected. The only concern we had based on the description was that the second bedroom might be too small with the two beds up, but it was absolutely fine. Hannah was a really accommodating host, responsive and happy to share information and tips. Highly recommend

Owls swoop low over the fields, hares race across the farm track and on a clear night, the vast Norfolk sky shimmers with stars. There are country walks from the garden gate, and a garden overlooking fields and common land where cows graze in high summer. Painted by artists; studied by historians; and loved by anyone who treasures wildlife, Le Grys House is a very special place indeed.
The door opens onto a brick-floored farmhouse kitchen with an original copper, electric range-style cooker, table, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There are two sitting rooms (one in the former dairy downstairs, and one upstairs in the converted apple store), and two bedrooms - a twin on the ground floor and a double on the first floor with the second sitting room. The upstairs bed/sitting room is accessed by an alternating tread staircase from the downstairs sitting room. Please note that there is no separating door to the upstairs sitting room and bedroom. The shower room is situated on the ground floor, up a step from the kitchen. There is a small games room with table football. The house was built in the 16th century, with later additions in the 17th century, so doors and beams are low, and floors are mostly brick, pamment and very old oak. Le Grys House is perfectly situated for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk. The market town of Bungay, on the edge of The Broads National Park is 14 miles away, as is the historical city of Norwich. Wymondham is under 10 miles, and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 30 miles.
  • Le Grys is in rural Norfolk nestled next to Wacton Common a large pasture area used to graze livestock and open fields. The property is part of an farmhouse complex with buildings dating from the 1700's. The holiday let annex itself is mostly 1800's construction and consists of a kitchen diner, living room, ground floor bathroom, utility/games room, ground floor twin bedroom, with a double bedroom up a steep set of stairs. Be aware that this property like many older buildings has one low doorway and some low beams so most adults will have to duck under these but there is headroom to stand in the majority of the property. For ourselves the location was ideal for our purposes which were to visit my parents old haunts, visit some former US 8th Army Airforce air bases and look at wildlife. My father visited Tibenham where as a child in 1944 he watched US 8th Airforce 445th Bomb Group B24 Liberators struggle into the air on their way to Occupied Europe and beyond and we also visited the busy 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum at Thorpe Abbots (which flew B17's) which is also a short distance by car. The farm is surrounded by wildlife. In September, when we visited, we saw and heard on the Common and surrounding fields and pond Buzzard, Kestrel, Moorhens, Water Rails, Yellow Hammers, Partridge, Owls, Bats and kit rabbits. The house was very clean on arrival and some basics like tea coffee and some milk were there on arrival which were welcome. During our stay we had a fridge breakdown, the owners provided us with a spare fridge to use and replaced the broken one with a new one within about 3 hours of us informing them of the issue which was fantastic service. We really enjoyed our stay here.

  • Very nice house with impeccable cleanliness. Beautiful country house in the middle of the English countryside. With a lot of style and respecting the old structure of the house. Very large and beautiful garden. All the services. Impeccable cleaning. Very well equipped with utensils, we do not miss anything. He even left us a welcome detail. With many details for children: table football, games, movies, ... Low ceilings in some area but it is because they have preserved the original structure so as not to lose charm.

    Daniel2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • In spite of mobile phone reception near the property being patchy to say the least, Sarah was always very quick to respond to Airbnb messages and was very understanding that it took us a comparatively long time to work out our check-in time and exactly what beds we expected to use! The property is just as described - although I do want to emphasise that a couple of the low doorways must be below 5ft, as a bit a of a shorty myself I'm not used to having to duck but that was definitely required here. It's a beautifully converted space though with lovely views and was perfect for a relaxing weekend away, Sarah has left a helpful manual of recommended pubs and walks.

  • Absolutely lovely place to stay. The downstairs kitchen is great, with a big kitchen table to feast on. Two large family rooms for everyone to chill in, sky TV was a nice touch. Upstairs, all bedrooms are big and very clean. My two year old son loved all the toys, and the property came with a crib and high chair for the little man. Really nice place to stay.

Keswick Mill is a Georgian and Victorian watermill over the river Yare, situated 1 mile from UEA and 2 miles from the centre of Norwich. We enjoy beautiful, secluded country surroundings, overlooking fields, the river Yare and Marston Marsh, whilst being within a 15 minute country-path walk to the nearest Waitrose and pubs. Great for visiting Norwich and its environs while staying in a rural location in a building with great character. Accommodation for our guests are on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
We are a family of four adults, a small friendly dog and two cats. We live on the 1st floor of our building. The second and third floors include 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are available to airbnb guests. (The animals are not allowed on these floors). The guest floors have their own entrance, 2 bathrooms, kitchenette and communal dining/sitting area. The mill is a grade 2 listed building with rustic charm and many unique quirks. Much of the original mill workings have been preserved (sadly no wheel). We are happy to show you around and explain how it worked. Guests should be aware that the floors and ceilings are irregular. We have 3 acres of garden along the Yare, which we are happy for you to use. The King bedroom is on the top floor, a short stair flight above the bathrooms and kitchenette. There is a comfortable King size Simba mattress on a low pedestal, high quality cotton bedding, towels, night lights to read by and a comfortable sitting chair. There is a rail with hangers, a chest for clothes storage and a small desk. Our kitchenette and pantry are stocked with freshly ground coffee, teas, biscuits, milk, cereals, soups and yogurt. Other foods can be available by arrangement. We have several parking spaces and plenty of indoor parking for bicycles (with a station for repairs, if needed). Clothes washing and drying can be arranged.
As well as our 3 acres of riverside gardens, there are a number of great walking paths from our front door. We are on the Edith Cavell Pilgrimage, which goes past neighbouring Keswick Church. We overlook Marston Marsh, which makes a lovely hour long walk. Or you can follow the path in the other directions to walk along country lanes and into The Big Wood. In the summer we enjoy paddling and swimming in the river Yare. Some of us continue in the winter (not for the faint hearted).
  • Juju and David were lovely, they showed us round, gave us plenty of things for breakfast and homemade biscuits on arrival which was very thoughtful. The views are absolutely stunning and it's such a fascinating building. The bed was really comfortable. We only stayed one night which was a shame in a way because we'd have liked to have explored some of the local walks but hopefully they'll be a next time!

My home is situated on a very quiet private road in old Cringleford, close to the main routes into Norwich. There's plenty of parking on site. Visitors have access not only to their bedroom, but also to breakfast supplies in a shared breakfast room. Restaurants and shops are only 5 minutes walk away, and there are frequent buses into the city of Norwich. I enjoyed upcycling textiles to make this room pretty and comfortable and I am looking forward to welcoming many different visitors.
This listing is a large room with a king sized bed. The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a bath and a separate shower.
My house is on a quiet country lane in Cringleford, a peaceful village that’s only separated from the city of Norwich by a beautiful medieval bridge.

Just a twenty minute drive south west of Norwich, the Old Rectory is the perfect bolthole from which to discover Norfolk or just drop in on neighbouring Lotus Cars. From the well-appointed, private and spacious first floor annex in the West Wing of the house, guests are encouraged to explore our five-acre property comprising woodland, meadow and traditional walled garden. Whether you are single or travelling as a couple, the Old Rectory can offer you respite, privacy and comfort away from home.
The accommodation, located on the first floor, is modern, airy and equipped with all the luxuries you'd hope to find in a comfortable home away from home: a spacious living area equipped with a smart tv, a cosy dining area, a small kitchen, a private bedroom and a well-appointed bathroom. You can have your own private access and are free to come and go as you please without intruding on the rest of the household. Guests are welcome to enjoy and explore the green and varied expanse which surrounds the house.
Although located in a quiet village we are easily placed for the A11, the main Norwich to London road. The nearest train station is three miles away in Wymondham, a charming market town with a selection of good pubs and restaurants. There are also some agreeable pubs nearer to our property which we recommend. We're just a mile away from Hethel Engineering Centre, an offshoot of Lotus Cars which are still built 'just up the road'.
  • A blissful oasis of calm and comfort. Blyth Green Stable is a holiday cottage suitable for families, sharing couples or groups of friends who are happy to share.. There is plenty of natural light and the main living space feels much bigger than it is. For darker, colder nights, there is a log burner to create that cosy atmosphere. • Lovely cottage, location is fantastic and the hosts were friendly and very welcoming! The house was very clean and is in a fantastic location. We had everything we needed

    Daniel2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • So what a real find this place was !!! First location - the property is tucked away in a secluded spot surrounded by fields providing complete privacy and zero disturbance from any passing traffic during your stay. However, the property remains within easy walking distance (5-10 mins) of the small town of Long Stratton , which offers a wide range of restaurants, pubs and takeaways and well as good supermarket options to purchase your own food. The property - this is a real gem in my opinion ! , a very well thought out barn conversion which has resulted in a fantastic set of modern , bright , airy and and very well equipped rooms each well sized. The two bedrooms with their comfortable good sized beds easily sleep 4 adults and are joined by a great bathroom which comprises a large bath with nice enlarged standing area for use of the shower which is a consistent running temperature and great pressure . The main living space / kitchen are is really nice - full of natural light during the day due to the large high level glazing and north lights and a night due to a well though out lighting design you can really create a nice atmosphere together with the log burning fire and comfy sofa. All rooms are well equipped , however special mention must be given to the kitchen space where everything you would need for a short stay has been provided ......i mean everything you would need ....just brilliant , again shows real thought to make your stay as easy as possible. Also there is not just everything you need but the quality of all the equipment from the fixtures and fittings to the bed linen , towels and even down to the oven gloves !! is of a high quality. There is outdoor / patio area with seating for use when you stay which provides opportunity for eating / drinking in a fully private area Finally the place is immaculately clean ...the rooms, fixtures everything is spotless. Huw and his wife are really welcoming and in my opinion have done a fantastic job in providing such a high quality place Cannot recommend this place enough - great for solo business traveler like me but equally for families and or couples . I am planning to bring my family back to stay again Super place !

Huw, Sarah and Family are such an accommodating and friendly bunch who were on-hand when you needed them and left you to it when you just wanted to get on with enjoying the peace and quiet of the stable. We had an amazing time and would recommend their place to anyone!
