  • A very comfortable and cosy, nicely equipped cottage. A little bit tricky to find in the dark and the rain, but Brett was on hand to guide us in. Would stay again when we are out Lincoln way.

Quite surroundings with views over open fields. Great to have a bottle of milk and tea and coffee available on arrival. • Kev is a great host, with a lots of friendly tips about the property and surrounding area. The place was spotless and we had loads of hot water and heating, as and when necessary. The kitchen area was very well equipped and we were welcomed with breakfast food and drink. The fenced, open area at the front was perfect for our dog and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

    Katharine2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay near Lincoln. The accommodation is private from the main house. The beds are comfortable and there is a nice powerful shower. Kev is a great host and made us very welcome. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

    Gordon2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. The hosts Kev and Wendy were very friendly and informative. Not only did they cater for all our needs but our dog winston was spoilt also with drinks and food bowl, treats and toys. I am a large lady and having a bath sheet that wrapped around me after my shower was wonderful. Everything we needed was supplied and all was spotlessly clean, will definitely be returning if visiting the area again. Thank you so much

A beautiful Old Church House, set in an idyllic Lincolnshire village. Welcome to our home, a place of peace and tranquility. The house is the original church house dating back to the late 1800’s and sits nestled next to the striking architecture of St Botolphs Church, Saxilby, Lincoln. The house retains its original charm and provides all the comfort and convenience expected from a modern home such as large flat screen T.V's, entertainment systems, a log burner, a dishwasher and much more!
The interesting layout of the house is made up of an entrance hallway with plenty of space for coats and bags, as well as muddy wellies or sun hats! A downstairs W.C with central heating boiler. The dining room has a large dining table that easily seats 8 and a work desk all surrounding an ornamental fireplace and our cosy book corner with views into the cottage style front garden. Continue through the house to find a large living room with log burner, a fully refitted kitchen and a beautiful conservatory with views over the back garden. Upstairs you will find 3 large bedrooms and a modern bathroom with bath and shower over.
The village of Saxilby is relatively large but very peaceful. There are lovely walks along the canal to be enjoyed and a wealth of amenities such as a small supermarket, excellent butcher, 2 pubs with evening entertainment a library and a village hall. The nearby village of Skellingthorpe is also highly recommended with woodland walks and cycle trails, and an excellent ice cream farm with miniature golf and children’s play area. Only 10 minutes drive will take you into the centre of historic Lincoln with its fantastic Cathedral, Castle and Bailgate area, ideal for shopping and relaxing as well as several galleries and museums.
  • Lovely setting next to the church. Very quiet

    Kate2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you like Agatha Raisin, you feel at home in a book by MC Beaton: a pretty, well-restored presbytery, next to a charming church and footpaths! Matt and his family are lovely people and very considerate. Saxilby is not very busy but Lincoln, 10 minutes is really a beautiful city with something for everyone. A nice family vacation destination!

A lovely comfortable double room with your own private bathroom. Kettlethorpe is blissfully quiet but located within easy reach of Lincoln, Newark & Gainsborough. The room has a double aspect thus catching both the morning and evening sun. Heaven!
We converted the barns ourselves and so each space is unique and characterful. The room features a hand crafted super king bead made from the original barn timbers. Guests will also have access to a glass family area and enclosed south facing courtyard garden. The barns sit within an acre of land. Regular visitors to the barns include a tawny owl and barn owl (possible ex residents!). Kettlethorpe hall (privately owned) is nearby and this was once the home of Katherine Swynford -the mistress of John Of Gaunt. There are numerous, picturesque walks nearby.
What do we love about Kettlethorpe? It is quiet, it is beautiful, we saved some derelict barns to make our home, we are not far from the A1, Lincoln, Newark and Gainsborough and we can get fresh veg from Steve who has an allotment right next to the barns. In short it is a little piece of heaven.
  • A very comfortable stay with interesting hosts in an accessible rural location within a superb barn conversion home.

  • A lovely space to unwind and relax. Has everything you need for a getaway in a very comfortable and cosy environment

    Donna2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had to change our Christmas plans at the last minute which made a difficult end to a challenging year. We found Piglet Cottage by chance - I am so glad we did! It looks beautiful in the pics but even better in real-life! A stunning home from home - modern yet cosy, safe and secure which was great for our pup to be able to safely explore the enclosed garden. So many thoughtful touches to this accommodation including plenty of extra towels, chocolates on arrival and a Christmas tree, it really has everything you need. Simon was so welcoming and even rang the local pub to find out if they were dog friendly and what time food was served until. Lots of lovely areas to walk right on the doorstep and the Peak District is around an hour by car. We spent 5 days at this beautiful property but wish we could have moved in! It's a lovely place set in a great area. We really had a lovely Christmas.

  • The cottage is in a tranquil, rural location yet convenient to visit Lincoln and surroundings. It is beautifully appointed, is comfortable and very spacious. The cottage is spotlessly clean and Catrin was a welcoming and helpful host. I can highly recommend a visit.

  • My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Catrin’s cottage. It looks exactly as it does in the photos, and is a perfect place for a couple to get away from it all, being cosy, comfortable and warm. In a peaceful location, yet only 10 minutes from Lincoln and the hustle and bustle. Catrin and Peter are excellent hosts, and we will certainly be back again.

    Betty2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the most delightful Airbnb stays we have had. It is like staying with friends because a Catrin and family are perfect hosts. A huge shed was provided to park our vintage tractor as my husband was taking part in a National Ploughing Competitions! Everything and more was provided so our stay was perfect. We were sad to be leaving and look forward to another stay to revisit the Lincoln area which we feel is an undiscovered gem. It’s a great place for young and old walks or cycles and open spaces to breathe lovely clean air....... thanks to all for giving us the opportunity to stay with Catrin & Peter & family xxxxxx. Also in the village of Harby is The Old Farm Spa which offers a range of massages and treatments. There are also a number of golf courses to choose from with the National Centre for golf Woodhall Spa and PING European HQ both within short driving distance.
  • Great little find, fab hosts, beautifully presented and very well equipped with lovely special touches. Fab hot tub and would recommend using the log burner for a cosy home from home feel. We’d love to return having had a relaxing, stress free girly break.

  • Lovely and clean space! Hot tub is nice and warm 👍🏻. Will definitely return if we’re looking in the area!

  • What an amazing place! Perfect for a girly getaway. Nice touches with chocolate and robes, the beds were comfy and the kitchen was kitted out with everything you need. The hot tub was amazing and very friendly hosts if we had any problems. Would 10/10 recommend this place x

  • Rachel and lionels lodge was so clean! Rachel gave us a little tour on arrival and showed us how everything worked and what was where which came in handy as we knew what we had at our disposal! Dishwasher was a great bonus, Rachel gave us ideas on local takeaways and activities to do! Lincoln is only a short drive away, we went up the steep hill, drove to Skegness one day and even did an escape room in Lincoln which was more fun than expected. The hot tub was super clean on arrival and Lionel was super quick to fix it when the temperature dropped which was great as we love the hot tub! The outside lights made it so nice when we wanted a dip in the evening as it was lit enough to see but still relaxing! The chandelier was gorgeous in the lodge! The beds were super comfy and the whole feel of the lodge was just so cosy. The perfect little getaway, harby is such a peaceful area with little to no noise great for a technology detox. Netflix came in handy when it was a rainy day. Overall a lovely holiday cottage, couldn’t fault anything loved every second!

  • Modern lodge, extremely clean with hosts that are welcoming and very helpful. Great location for getting into Lincoln and surrounding villages. Also the hot tub was great, would recommend for a relaxing weekend away!

  • What a GEM. Came with three other girls for a weekend getaway and we couldn’t have asked for more. The house struck the perfect balance of modern and cosy. Our hosts were lovely, gave great communication and added lovely little touches like robes for the hot tub, and chocolates on the bed. We walked to Doddington Hall on one of the days (Rachel’s recommendation) and had a great time at the Christmas markets in Lincoln (a short drive from Harby). We absolutely loved it and hope to return at some point. A lovely Airbnb in a beautiful location.

    Rachel2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so gorgeous and has everything you need for a nice relaxing break away. Lionel & Rachel are very friendly and accommodating. We stayed 2 nights early December, my husband and I and our 20 month old daughter and the Christmas decorations were up which was a lovely touch. Rachel provided a cot and high chair also which was great. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved the hot tub!

    Roz2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time (two couples) with our two dogs. The hosts were welcoming and we loved the little touches (chocolates on the bed and robes), and the fact the hot tub is changed between guests and fully flushed on a Friday. It was very clean and cosy. We felt very relaxed. The pictures don't show it well but the lodge is in the garden of the hosts property but it still feels private. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely rural break.

  • What a lovely, wonderful place to stay. The pictures do not do it justice. You really do get a sense of openness and space. The cottage is clean and very comfortable and I would definitely recommend!!

    Kathleen2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place in Lincolnshire. Everything was amazing - brilliant kitchen and tonnes of space to relax and enjoy the countryside. The only downside was the wifi - it worked in the kitchen but not so much in the lounge which made streaming non-existant. However that is minor and in fairness just meant we could enjoy being disconnected from the world for a bit. A secure garden and driveway was great with the dog around too. Couldn't really ask for me.

    Nick2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Simon's place is honestly perfect. Look no further! There are more amenities than listed and the pictures, despite looking great, still don't do it justice. It has everything you could need and caters for young and old, from the toddler toilet seat and high chair to the doctor detox and claw tub bath, it honestly has something there for everyone. I booked Barn Cottage for a special 2 night birthday retreat for my partners 23rd and she was blown away and didn't want to leave. Check in/out was simple and easy and the place truly feels like home. Thanks again Simon for a wonderful experience!

  • We were the first Airbnb guests at the lodge. The lodge was warm and cosy on arrival, and very Christmassy! Very clean and tidy with all the things you could possibly need for a weekend. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wishes to stay in a real log cabin! Lincoln 8 minute drive away which is just nice to be able to pick up a takeaway or supplies but then returning to the wilderness. Great views as the sun rose and set each night too and plenty of wildlife. We brought our dog who loved to explore the area, was so nice to have somewhere so tranquil which allowed dogs!! Hopefully I would get to visit this again one day when I return. I wish Claire and the owners the best of luck with their new AirBnB venture. You are naturally born to be hosts!

  • We stayed at this property for a few night over New Year and would happily recommend it to any large families/groups. There were 10 of us in total plus one well behaved dog and there was more than enough room for everyone. The kitchen/living area was well equipped and had a huge dining table with enough chairs for us all to comfortably sit around. Each bedroom was of a good size, with the master bedroom being big enough to fit two double beds and still leave plenty of space. We also converted one of the downstairs rooms to be another spacious bedroom. The house is very warm and has a log burner in the kitchen/living area, although this would only really be needed if you turned the central heating off altogether. The property is surrounded by fields and very private. It is a gated property and not overlooked by anyone. There are pubs nearby however we did have to drive to the nearest dog friendly pub, as we couldn’t find one in walking distance. Frances was a great host; all communication was clear and timely and, most importantly, there were no surprises. If anything, the photo’s don’t perhaps do the size of this property justice. We knew it could accommodate our party size but we’re pleasantly surprised just how much space we all had.

  • Such a lovely open plan house with large gardens, and the perfect place to spend a long weekend with family or friends! The rooms were all beautifully decorated, offering comfy beds, stylish ensuites and a large family bathroom. There are 2 nice pubs within walking distance of the house, which i also recommend (The Angler, the Sun inn).

A beautifully fitted shower room & a fully fitted kitchen with everything needed to create a gourmet meal or just bake a pizza!

At The Brewhouse we welcome well behaved dogs and children however, we respectfully ask that dogs should be supervised & kept on a lead at all times as there may be horses, sheep & lambs in the adjacent paddock. We really want you to enjoy your stay with us & treat The Brewhouse as you would your own home please leave it tidy & clean all dirty dishes, thanks in advance. ☺️
Brattleby is a very quiet, leafy village set 2.5 miles from the Lincolnshire Showground (hosting many exhibitions, concerts & events) & 6.5 miles from the stunning historic, uphill area of Lincoln with its famous castle, Lincoln Cathedral & award winning Steep Hill with an array of fabulous cafes, restaurants & quirky shops to browse. Staying at The Brewhouse means that you can dip in & out of the many Lincolnshire attractions with time to come back to relax and refresh yourself, making use of the walled garden & seated pond area or enjoy the beautiful walks on your doorstep. Although there isn't a pub or restaurant in Brattleby itself, The Dambusters (Dining pub of the year Lincoln 2018) is a mile away in Scampton village & there are 2 dining pubs 1.5 miles away in Ingham. We are also 3 miles from Bransby Horses Rescue Centre - well worth a visit especially for children.

Our Woodcutter's shed is a small quirky space perfect for teenagers, young adults and children to play in whilst having adventures in the woods. For a couple of friends wanting a getaway in a green space, this is a simple retreat. The single bed is long enough for an adult maximum of about 5ft 10 inches. We can provide mattress for a second guest or you can bring an inflatable camping mattress. The Woodcutters shed has a low ceiling and a small step leading into the space. So please be careful climbing about! We have got an assortment of reading books, bird identification books and outdoor skills guides to give you a chance to explore the great outdoors. Perfect if you want to listen to the birdsong and enjoy a small campfire. Bring some marshmallows!
Brattleby is a conservation village. At Brattleby Farm we take part in Natural England's HLS scheme and we have a strong environmental ethos.
  • Belle is a fabulous friendly host and the stay on the farm was lovely even in the winter (big bubbly bath as a winter warmer!) Great facilities and also nearby dambusters inn for local night out.

  • Simple, basic camping shed in an amazing plantation of old Yew trees by the Village church. Farm buildings close by are full of character and historic features. Plenty of wildlife to watch. Public transport is limited. Last bus from Lincoln just after five p.m. and no Sunday sevice. Local pub (1 mile) is very friendly and has excellent beer. Recommended for a chilled weekend.

Idyllic Grade 2* listed rural limestone cottage in grounds of a lodge to Burton Hall, close to historic cathedral city of Lincoln. Set in 1.8 acres of mature woodland grounds. Wood-burning stove and seasoned logs included; well equipped kitchen.
This is a tastefully refurbished estate worker's cottage and stores, built of local limestone. It is situated in the grounds of, and completely separate from, Dunster Lodge, which was built in 1868 as a lodge for Burton Hall. All buildings including the cottage are Grade 2* listed. The cottage is fully equipped with a modern kitchen and appliances (including washer, dishwasher, four ring gas hob, built-under oven and extractor fan), set at one end of the living area. There are plenty of pots and pans, utensils and crockery. Coffee making equipment includes Nespresso machine (with a few capsules!), and Mocha express machines. There is a drop-leaf table and four folding chairs in addition to two other wooden dining chairs. The other part of the living area has comfortable seating, television and DVD player and wood-burning stove. In addition to a comfortable double bedroom (Note: the bed is 4 feet wide), there is a "corridor" bedroom with a single bed. Modern shower-room with WC and wash basin, heated towel rail and additional wall heater. Heating is by wood-burning stove (seasoned logs included) and each room has independent thermostatic electric wall heaters. Hot water via immersion heater. No additional charge for electricity.
Set on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Burton by Lincoln, with great rural views, yet only a few minutes drive from the beautiful and historic cathedral city of Lincoln, with markets, plentiful historical attractions, eateries, and the famous and hugely popular Christmas market. We can usually hear or see pheasants, owls, garden birds and other wildlife - and the occasional deer - from the cottage and garden. Convenient for visiting the University area, and the Lincolnshire Showground, and the Magna Carta display at the castle.
  • The listing is very accurate. It is a lovely cottage set amongst beautiful mature trees. Peter kindly leaves the cottage well supplied with food and wood for the wood burner. Lincoln is well worth visiting. We parked at Burton Waters (don't bother) and walked into town on the old Roman canal, stopping at the Pye Wipe pub, which would be a better place to park. Take a guided tour of the cathedral, it is stunning, and the tour really enhances the experience.

  • This is absolutely first class accommodation, it as every appliance you need, spotless clean warm and cosy. The host provides welcome groceries and their own honey. • This place is a gem. Perfectly located for driving into Lincoln, yet rural enough to have absolute tranquility. It was so quiet! Everything was clean and tidy and we had absolutely everything we could have needed. In addition our host was warm and welcoming and had lit the fire ready for our arrival. We had the added bonus of a welcome pack and some delicious honey from their own hives! Perfect for our small family of three plus a dog and we certainly be back next time we come to Lincoln. A very happy stay!

  • Located a short distance from Lincoln, this small but perfectly formed property is ideal for a short break, situated in a beautiful rural landscape near to Burton and not far from Burton Waters – a pretty marina, oddly surrounded gated communities, finance businesses and mortgage companies. The cottage has WiFi and all necessary amenities, situated in the owner's lovely garden, under mature trees and surrounded by farmland, lots of birds and, close by, wonderful bee hives – a treat to see – and taste – as the host provided delicious samples. You'll need to drive to pubs and restaurants, the village has no facilities to speak of, but it's no real distance to supermarkets on the outskirts of Lincoln, including a large Waitrose. And Lincoln is certainly somewhere you will want to visit more than once. The cathedral is extraordinary (take the tour), the castle fascinating and Steep Hill will offer more exercise than you will probably be prepared for. It's a great city. A pleasant forty minute drive will also have you in centre of the Lincolnshire Wolds, a beautiful part of England, but be prepared to have to search out anywhere open – the Wolds are quite empty, if quite beautiful. Check out the Tennyson tours. Take time to look at the churches. The King's Head in Tealby is worth searching out. Relax, enjoy, and remember the Sancerre.

  • A lovely spacious house, comfortable beds, great kitchen and cooking facilities. Comfortable and stylish lounge areas. Capacity to have a large meal together (we squeezed 17 people round the tables in the dining room by pushing the 2 tables together). Bring warm clothes and hot water bottle to warm your bed as it is a large house and some rooms felt a bit chilly. Lovely log fire. Tips: may need more toilet roll , bring tea towels as only 2 available, check if logs are available.

  • Dunham House was the perfect venue for our Family Christmas Gathering. With 18 people coming from a range of places including Emsworth in the south and Newcastle and the Lake District in the north in was pretty central and very easy to find. The house was spacious, homely and very well equipped- there was even a Christmas tree! Ed, Chris and Louise answered all queries promptly and fully and were very helpful. Even though there was plenty to do nearby, we tended to stay local, enjoying the house, the walk by the Trent and the pub! It was a privilege to stay in a house with such history and when it’s my turn to host the gathering again we will definitely return. We had a fantastic weekend and we all loved Dunham House with its quirky character and historic charm!

  • The yurt is a wonderful outdoor escape, with comfortable furnishings and a lovely private outdoor area for sitting by the fire. The wash room is also fantastic! The family was incredibly welcoming, and communication was fantastic before we arrived, with really helpful directions.

  • Lovely rustic spot. Completely different experience for our kids. They loved it, especially exploring around the forest and building the fire! Thanks for a lovely break

  • Beautiful surroundings and lovely little personal touches to the yurt and campfire area making it a perfect trip away from the Norma stresses of life

  • I had booked the Yurt with my partner for my birthday. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons we were unable to stay. Communication with Belle was first class. She was prompt in responding and was very understanding and sympathetic. I have also been offered the opportunity to stay again at a later date which was very kind. I look forward to a future stay. Thanks. Pete.

    Peter2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • It is well-appointed camping. The yurt is novel and cozy. Nice to be able to have a campfire. Nice walk to the lavatory. Bucolic setting. Some stinging nettle along the way, but it is minor. Shaded and protected area.

    Paul2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We took three nights away to switch off and get away from the rat race, and Brattleby house did not disappoint. The Yurt itself was clean, spacious and had a great vibe, and Belle the host was absolutely lovely. We had our own outdoor area which was secluded and not overlooked, with gorgeous views into nearby fields and into woodland behind. We also met the host's family who were fantastic and we would gladly come again! Thank you Belle!

    Phil2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at the yurt. It had beautiful surroundings and is so unique. The campfire was lovely and we enjoyed cooking outside. The hospitality was wonderful and we loved the new, huge bath, the kids made the most of the bubbles. Thanks so much!

  • I highly recommend this Cabin, Julian is very nice and gives you quick answers, and he will give you a solution if you have any issue.

  • This is a very cute, cozy, peaceful and welcoming space. It’s immaculately done out and super clean. The nearest village is a short drive away and has quite a big Coop. We loved just chilling out and chatting. The beds are very comfy and there’s throws to snuggle up in as well. Quick tip: if you’re coming from the West, which we were, once you’re on the road where the cabin is, if you get to the two houses opposite each other you’ve gone too far :). The place is a few yards back: look for the Old Brick Pits sign.

The cabin was spotlessly clean, and communication from Julian and Deborah was great. We had a fabulous weekend here, was great to get away from it all and unwind - and the fishing was great too, lots of carp caught over the two nights! Thanks again

  • We had a wonderful 5 nights at the Shakespear House. A perfect stay. Highly recommended. Near Lincoln, Newark and all we look for in a really cool historic home. Sleeping in the upstairs bedroom is super cool with transom windows that can be set numerous ways. The airflow was excellent and made for a very comfortable stay. We would love to return to Doddington. The available gourmet food was a great perk!

  • This cottage is a must visit. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with it. Check-in could not have been easier, and we were greeted with a lovely hamper. The cottage was so beautiful and welcoming and the amount of space was fantastic. My nephew had an amazing time running around the space! Travel cot which was provided, was an added bonus. The toiletries in every en-suite bathroom was definitely a nice touch. Each of the four bedrooms were stunning and large. Nobody felt as it they drew the short straw! The local farm shop was really good and perfect for your weekend groceries. There is honestly nothing to complain about and we just wish we could have stayed longer.

  • A huge huge thank you goes out to Doddington Hall team for hosting us this New Years Eve! Myself and my family had the most wonderful time staying in the Brew House! The brew house is a stunning property split in two halves with bags of character and a real homely feel! It was perfect for our family and such a great social space to enjoy food and drinks together around the table and by the crackling fire. Check in and communication was exceptionally easy and quick and Emily and team could not have been more accommodating. All rooms a generous size and everyone in the party was happy. Lots of space to break out to have time out if needed with two sitting rooms and a great social kitchen. My only feedback would be that more full showers would be a welcomed addition. All bathrooms have baths and handheld shower heads but there is only one bathroom with a shower cubicle. Other than that facilities and amenities were perfect for us. The grounds and area surrounding the property are perfect for a leisurely walk or morning Jog with lots of nice trails to explore. High praise goes out to the Doddington Hall team for making our stay so perfect.

  • This is place is beautiful. 11 of us stopped here for a Hen weekend. The pictures of the house don't do it justice. The grounds are beautiful to walk round. The whole house was sparkling clean. The kitchen was really well stocked with utensils so cooking is an absolute breeze. Lovely little welcome pack as well with eggs, bread and milk. So much room for everyone in the house. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to book this again. Also the communication is amazing. I would message through Airbnb questions about the house and I would get a response in minutes from Emily. It was so helpful to have that. Thank you for having us all!
