We live in an 1895 Victorian top flat with 12 foot ceilings on the best block in San Francisco. Our calendar is always up to date. Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Please fill out your profile if you are interested~and make sure to arrange a time to meet prior to your arrival, I lead a busy lifestyle, work full time, and wouldn't want to miss anyone! Check in is at 5 and we are 37 steps up from street level. Restaurants are plentiful and beautiful Dolores Park is quite close. Your room has a twin day bed 75 inches long with a desk and a solid door. The room is 9.25 feet by 8 feet. Amenities include wireless and a gorgeous full kitchen. We have one cat that enjoys company almost as much as we do and a sweet rescue pooch. Our flat gets more light than any other home I've been to in my 13 years of living in this great town. For all you foodies out there BiRite Creamery, Tartine, Delfina's Pizza and Proper are within 4.5 blocks of our front door. Michelin rated Range is just a few farther. As much as we love bikes, and we do, we don't have space for storage. If you rent one please return it at the end of the day or lock up on the street at your own risk. Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • Brenda was amazing! So genuinely enthusiastic to help me see San Fran and experience the delights that her city has to offer. She has a better insight than anyone else I could've met in this city. She know's where to go and what to do within a variety of interests. Her bed was super comfy and I don't usually sleep in a single bed but the space was homely and I rested easily. She has sweet pets that will come and say hi to you if you wish. The facilities were immaculate and there's loads of fantastic places to eat just minutes away. Needless to say I loved it and would definitely stay again. I highly reccommend this as a place to base yourself in SF.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Brenda's place! She's very thoughtful. She asked me how I slept last night and what I was going to do every day. I also enjoyed the accompany of Boo (her dog) and Mumu (her cat). Location is perfect. It's convenient to get around. There are so many good restaurants close by. I will recommend her place to others.

  • Everything was like the pictures. We had an issue with the wifi but Mike and Nic resolve that issue very fast. They were very fast to answer our questions.

    Lynda2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Nic are charming and caring hosts. The accommodation is perfect for a couple. Everything is clean, good mattress, good hot water, good WiFi connection. Bernal Heights is a quiet residential area with a few local shops. The only downside for users of public transport, you will need to allow at least 45 min for a trip to the city center. Thank you for your welcome, Roger and Chantal

  • Great area full of gems- check out the swing and the slide for sure. Nic and Mike amazing hosts.

  • Lovely, beautiful decorated, very private and cozy apartment in an excellent neighborhood. The communication with hosts was very efficient. I would definitely recommend this place.

    Sebastián2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic! The neighborhood was wonderful; we walked to breakfast every morning, and watched the sunset from the hill behind the house. Mike & Nic were out of town when we arrived but Chrissy took great care of us, and gave us a bunch of great tips for places to see/eat while we were in town! We couldn't figure out the gas fireplace the first night but Chrissy came right over and helped us. Loved this apartment, bigger than it looks in the ad and well-appointed, cozy, just all around a wonderful experience. We will definitely book this place the next time we visit San Francisco!

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train, and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar. There is a pull-out twin bed in the living room as well.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • Found by my daughter, booked by me, loved by my wife! Sara was a perfect host from the minute we arrived, to the moment we left amongst the lock down in San Francisco due to Covid-19 We settled in overnight and felt at home We spent a lot of our time exploring the Ashbury Haight-Ashbury area and learning about its musical past and admiring the beautiful buildings It’s a excellent location and the transport links are very good - No 6 bus being one example. Come to San Francisco!

    David2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great host with brilliant communication from the offset. Great local tips and clear check in and check out instructions. Lovely, comfortable apartment - it’s in a fantastic location with lots of restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. Felt really local. We loved our time in San Fran and it was the perfect base for us.

    Kirsty2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was a very gracious host. She welcomed me with a friendly smile and was very helpful with all of my questions and requests. I would definitely stay at her place again. Such a convenient location for all things Haight Asbury!!!

    Anita2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve just returned from a 6 night stay at the Garden Retreat. It was a perfect location for us as it is a peaceful neighbourhood away from downtown, but all the sights were easily accessible by public transport - about 15 mins on the metro. Cole Valley is nearby with some great places to eat and it only takes 30 minutes to walk up to the Twin Peaks viewing point for unparalleled views of the city. Can’t recommend the area and the accommodation enough.

    Jonathan2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sara is a great host, very flexible and easy to communicate with. The place is nice and clean with lots of great extra linens. Very comfortable.

    Sadie2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Sara's airbnb and I would definitely recommend. The location is so great for accessing Golden Gate Park and a quick commute downtown. Sara was a perfect host and we felt right at home in her cozy place. Will be back!

    Michelle2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a great time here. Sara was very helpful and lovely. It's in a great location to explore San Francisco. It felt very private and safe staying here. There is so much to do and see in San Francisco we wanted to stay longer!

Relax around the fire pit on the private patio at this garden Craftsman studio. Smooth concrete, edison bulb lighting, and chunky furniture create an industrial look, while the open-plan layout keeps things relaxed and comfortable.
This studio promises to absolutely take your breath away upon first sight. Cool and romantic, carefully decorated and recently renovated by master architects; the space gives you plenty of room to breath while still retaining a sense of invigorating calm. Abundantly spacious with the addition of our beautiful back garden and shack - this home guarantees the stay of a life time.
The Outer Richmond holds all of the excitement of San Francisco while retaining a low-key feel. Nowhere else has unique and delicious eateries, a surfers' beach, museums, parks, hiking, and historical sites all within close walking distance.
  • This place is a sanctuary. So cool, peaceful and relaxing. Lots of space, short walk to an area of restaurants, yoga & cafe’s. Close to beach and park too. Loved staying here and will definitely book again.

    Robin2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a solo traveler or couple. The space was clean and the hosts were very friendly.

    Alexandra2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Stay of a month in this pretty little apartment located under that of the guests, recommended for 2 (privacy limited to 4 since the sofa bed is a few meters from the bed). Near a Safeway, rather cute and very nice area for a long stay (close to the beach, near the Golden Gate Park, no homeless, it feels very safe). Adorable and attentive hosts, they have solved all the worries that we have encountered (breakdown of heating, need to borrow their number for a delivery of food ...) in a very fast time! The only real flaw in our opinion, parking is more difficult than it seems to be in the ad, in any case in general it's true that it is easy to find a place in the day, but it gets harder and harder as the clock ticks on, so be prepared to turn in a lot of streets if you come back late in the week. Advantage nonetheless, the parking is completely free, just pay attention to weekly or monthly street cleaning but it is very well indicated on the panels.

  • Great hosts that were always super available, helpful and so nice.

    Daniel2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Josh and Lizzie were amazing hosts! Very responsive and accomodating. Nice quiet neighborhood with lots to do around the corner on Balboa. Buses are convenient and take about 30mins to downtown.

    Kyler2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Josh was a great host, very helpful. He addressed all my questions and needs in a prompt manner. Flat is nicelly equipped and very cosy. Has beautiful garden. Location is great for people who lobe peace and quiet, nature ans ocean. Well connected with down town SFO. Beach is beautiful. Must try - devils teeth bakery and java beach coffee shop. I had a great stay

    Lidija2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were lucky enough to spend two whole months living in Josh and Lizzie’s 'Beautiful Beachside Home' and it is just a beautiful as the photo’s suggest. It is a great space, bigger than we imagined and in May and June the garden was beautiful with all of the plants in bloom. When the sun is shinning the garden is a real sun trap with protection from the wind that sometimes comes from the sea, which is only a few blocks away. The location is excellent, with not just the beach on your doorstep but also Golden Gate Park, Sutro Heights/Baths, Seal Rock and Lands End a short walk away. In fact if like us you love to just stare are the Golden Gate Bridge then there is a great view of that from Lands End just 10/15 minutes walk away. The neighbourhood facilities only a short walk away in Balboa Street are excellent, with many varied resturant options to suit every budget and having a cinema on your doorstep was really special. Look out for the classic Thursday movies which include old favourites and movies you might have missed on their first release. The monthly theme is usually the director of the movies. We spent our two months here without a car! The bus services are excellent and great value (use the MUNI App) as is UBER and if you don’t mind walking there is so much more to see as you explore the different neighbourhoods San Francisco has to offer. Josh and Lizzie are the perfect hosts, never obtrusive but always there when you need them, they made us feel very welcome and at home. We would have no hesitation in staying here again it was so much better than staying in a hotel downtown. We felt like we really got to know San Francisco and this was probably our 5th of 6th visit in 25 years.

    Stephen2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Josh and Lizzie's place was exactly as advertised. Would absolutely stay there again.

  • I’ve now found my new favorite place to stay in San Francisco. I travel here frequently and have stayed in a number of Airbnb’s and jeffrey’s is the best. It is a stylish space with plenty of room, a great bathroom, comfortable bed, wonderful neighborhood and, despite its central location, the quietest sleep I’ve had in the city. Jeffrey was responsive and it’s a good value. Thank you!

  • This spot is perfect for a visit to the city of San Francisco. The en suite room has all the amenities you'll need, and everything is spotless. Jeff and Mike are incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the space is comfortable and cozy. Jeff and Mike gave lots of recommendations before I arrived and also pointed me to terrific dining areas just around the corner once I was ready to explore. The space is safe for a woman traveling alone, and the hosts are very quick to respond to any request or query. I would return to this location without hesitation. Thank you, Jeff and Mike!

  • I was fortunate enough to live in Blair's apartment for the past year. The apartment is stylish, chic and well equipped. The location cannot be beat with fabulous Filmore and Union Streets just blocks away. Blair responded immediately to any questions or issues I had. She is also super nice and super helpful! Staying in Blair's apartment was a very positive experience. I was sad to say goodbye!

This beautiful two bedroom/one bath apartment is located in the Castro/Duboce Triangle and in walking distance to Upper and Lower Haight, NOPA, and the Mission. Lot's of transportation, corner stores, grocery stores, and fantastic restaurants are in walking distance. If you come with car, street parking is quite easy here but it is restricted. However, there is paid parking around the corner at the hospital garage and there is also a street nearby where you can park your car for a week.
What I love most about the apartment is how truly bright it is. Big windows allow for lot's of natural lighting. The space is quite big (for San Francisco standards) with a nice large kitchen for cooking. The guest room is facing the back which is quiet and shielded from street noise.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe with cute little streets, beautiful houses and lot's of parks. And if you are in the mood for entertainment you only need to walk a few block to find great places to eat and drink and people watch.
  • Everything as expected! Clean, welcoming, convenient and stylish. Highly recommend for anyone that is visiting the Bay area.

If your car doesn't fit (SUVs won't fit) you'll need to use street parking, which is metered, or pay for parking at a nearby garage. Check-in time depends on the day of the week. Absolutely no smoking is permitted in our studio. We also appreciate if guests avoid using strong perfumes/colognes while staying at our studio. This modern studio is located in one of SF's newer buildings. It has light brown floors, brand new furniture, and includes wifi and a 39 inch flat screen TV which streams Roku, Amazon Prime, Netflix and over 60 local channels. In addition to the everyday essentials expected in a modern home (heating, oven, fridge, etc), a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, iron, blow dryer and a washer/dryer are included for your convenience. Our unit is extremely quiet; excellent for getting a good night's rest on a cozy queen size bed. The building's common areas are monitored around the clock for your security. The entrance to Highway 101 - southbound (to the Peninsula) and northbound (to the East Bay) - is 4 minutes away. In the event 3 guests want to sleep on separate beds, you can use the daybed sofa which is around the same size as a single bed.
The building is located in the Civic Center area, in the middle of town, and is equal distance to all of the nightlife options and places of interest. Discover the city with close access to the water and the iconic Mission District.
  • I enjoyed my time staying here, and everything was great. There were all the amenities that I needed, the location is perfect, and Carlos and Graciela were very friendly and helpful. I definitely would like to stay here again.

  • Wonderful place. Carlos was a phenomenal host.

    Jaime Joel2019-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • If I had to choose between great hosts and great apartment, I would choose the first. But imagine if you would not have to make compromise and you could have both hosts and a wonderful place to live. Actually, there is no need to imagine this scenario: simply contact Graciela and Carlos. I can only reinforce what is already written in previous reviews: Graciela and Carlos are a wonderful couple who will do everything in their power to make your stay as comfortable as possible in their studio(s). As a matter of fact, my impression is that they will gladly run the extra mile in order to help. The apartment is one of the best ones I have ever lived in (and I have lived in many apartments and houses throughout 10 countries of Europe and Asia). I know where I will want to stay next time I come to San Francisco. To wrap it up, I can wholeheartedly recommend any of their apartments (even though I lived in only one). By having great and caring hosts like Graciela and Carlos, the only thing you need to "worry about" is to enjoy your stay in this wonderful city.

    Ivan2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts, great apartment. Best thing about it is that Carlos and Graciela were very available if I needed anything and very helpful at check-in. The best Air bnb experience I've had so far!

  • Great place to stay! Carlos is great and quick with responses :)

    Aditya2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos is a great host! He gives a proper and thorough orientation to the building and the condo! He shows you how to access the “other” building, and I’m so glad he did! One day the elevator was closed to the garage for “moving” and I had to enter the other building to get into the garage to get my car. I wouldn’t have known what to do if Carlos hadn’t shown me that other buildings access to the garage (there is no on sight office here as it’s not an apartment complex). The place was white glove clean! I love the decor! Carlos was quick to respond to any communication efforts. I would love to stay here again!

Plan the day while sipping coffee at the white lacquer dining table of this stylish, second-floor flat in a Victorian home. Orange textiles, colorful ceramics, and board games are eclectic accents amid minimalist furnishings and pale hardwood floors.
Private studio flat on the second floor of a duplexed home with one flight of steps to get to the entrance and two more to get into the door. Street unmetered parking or a space can be made available nearby for an additional fee.
Situated between the heights and sites of Bernal Hill, known for its stunning views, the studio is close to shops, cafes, and restaurants, including some of the best taquerias in town. The Mission District is also nearby.
  • Jan and Bernard are the most caring hosts I've had so far using Airbnb. They checked in every now and then to ensure my experience was remarkable. The studio has all the amenities you could need for every day things. It was very convenient to have a Safeway so close to the area.

    Eduardo2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is clearly the best place to stay in SF !

    Andréa2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jan and Bernard’s rental is excellent and highly recommended. It comes well stocked. The location is great, near Bart and many fine restaurants. We enjoyed hiking up to the top of Bernal Park daily. J&B were very quick to answer any text questions we had. If you need a long term rental you won’t find a better value in SF.

    Jim2019-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for a month and really loved my stay. The flat was compact, yet very efficient and looked and felt spacious. I was concerned about having the bed so close to the fridge, but it was a very quiet fridge. Everything was so comfortable about the space. The walk through the neighborhood was always enjoyable. I commuted everyday via a walk to the 24th and Mission Street BART stop and then it was only 3 quick stops to Market and Powell Streets. Nearby on Mission, I enjoyed a few nightly stops at great neighborhood bars - Virgil's and The Royal Cuckoo. And Safeway was a short walk- with great views on the way back home. Thanks Jan and Bernard for a wonderful stay. I wish I had San Francisco on my schedule again soon...but you'll certainly hear from me again someday.

  • Great studio, well decorated and cared for. Jan is a terrific host and very responsive to questions and concerns.

    Oliver2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Spent a month at this studio and everything was phenomenal. Jar of cookies waiting for me at my arrival, after my own heart for sure! Very clean, very functional space. Having a private dishwasher and washer/dryer is a touch of class I'm typically not graced with! Location great as well. Nice quiet neighborhood, but steps away from the essentials: grocer, convenience store, drug store not to mention all the wonders of Mission and Valencia mere blocks away. Had a great time and Jan made everything easy. Cheers!

    Lloyd2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very comfortable. everything is thought out to the smallest detail, in the kitchen there is absolutely everything necessary for cooking. very cool that the washing machine and dryer in the apartment. The apartment is clean and cozy. next to an incredible park, from which a beautiful view of the city. Thank you Jan and Bernard for everything:)

  • A very comfortable Airbnb in an excellent location. Close walking distance to lots of restaurants, shopping and the Golden Gate Park. Budi is a very responsive and thoughtful host. Would definitely come and stay again when visiting San Francisco.

  • Budi is a kindness person, and we prayed together and got a good fellowship in his house. The parking lot is more convenient and I found some good foods and Chinese restaurant around his house. I like it. Budi is a very friendly person, Easy parking and delicious Chinese food around!

  • Great location and price.

    Zachary2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you, Budi. Perfect location near Golden Gate Park and Golden Gate Bridge. The room is big and the bed was wonderful. Sheets, pillows, covers were high quality and so very soft. Slept wonderfully. Parking was splendid. Budi was attentive and very kind. Pat sat down for breakfast with us and told us where to go and what to look out for. We forgot a toy under the sheets. Budi texted me about it and will be mailing out. My son loves that little dragon! How thoughtful of them to keep it and contact me rather than throw it away. Just an example of the kind of people Budi and Pat are. Lovely, kind souls.

  • I enjoyed my stay here... There was good service and great location. Old-fashioned but had the required amenities.

    Leah2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • it's like a hotel. the place is so convenient to go to the any hot spot. I want to go back there.

    Ryuichi2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Just remember the room 316, reminds me John 3:16. Seems the cheapest room that you can get in the downtown. A life saving for all of you like me who come to the US and start as an immigrant. I booked the room for 41 days and exactly a week before I checked out I got a job offer and start to move to nearby my office location. What amazed me is the price, no other can beat for this room, unit 316. With such a great location in downtown just a 1 minute walk to union square and close to everything, Bart station, shopping center, you name it, I have no any complaint. I can't figure out why the other rooms has much higher price than this one. But it would be different topic. Good luck!

The suite is conveniently located steps away from major bus lines and minutes from some of the best SF has to offer!! Located in sunny Silver Terrace neighborhood of San Francisco only a ten minute cab ride to the airport and ten more to the heart of the city. Close aproximity to freeways keeps cab ride fares low!
Enjoy your very own newly rennovated private suite. The suite is bright and airy. There's a quaint kitchen which is equipped with all the necessities to make a great meal (e.g. coffee maker, burner top, and toaster oven). A built-in table with swivel bar stools is across the way for a cozy sit down dining experience. The suite is outfitted with a queen Tempurpedic mattress for optimal sleeping comfortability. There is also a sofa which can be converted to a bed. I provide all the linens for the bed as well as the sofa sleeper. I have a flat screen Tv with cable. The Tv is wall mounted and can swivel. The bathroom is tucked behind a barn door for complete privacy. There's a frameless standing shower big enough for 2 people, vanity with plenty of counter space, and large walk-in closet. I provide hand soap, blow dryer, towels, and toilet paper. I believe you will really enjoy the space that I have created. Happy travels!
  • Fantastic spot for a stay in San Francisco! Cozy with everything you'd need to feel at home.

    Paris2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had such pleasant stay here with my bf for my bday weekend and honestly would come back whenever I have the chance to come back to San Fran! The place is really nice and clean! Most of all we really like that we have our own private entrance to our place and everything was super easy access! Our host Lauren was awesome, she gave us some recommendations what to do and eat around the area which was super helpful! This place is a must if you need a place to stay if you’re in SF :)

    Vivian2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is definitely a diamond in the rough. The place was very clean and the interior design was very well put together. We felt like we were at home. Which is the best feeling ever being out of town somewhere. Like everyone says, “Right next to the freeway with a 10-15 min Uber ride into the city.” It was averaging around $10-$18 depending on the range/ time of day. We will definitely come back to this place again. Plus free parking on their driveway. That is one of the hugest pluses when going into a city with crowded parking. She is a great host and responds so quickly. Don’t try to be bad and boujee. Just book it.

    Alberto2020-03-06T00:00:00Z

Cozy house located in a quiet area of the Excelsior District. ~15 minutes to San Francisco International Airport. ~15 minutes to Chase Center. ~18 minutes to Oracle Park. ~20 minutes to Golden Gate Park. ~15 minute drive to Union Square.
Guests are welcome to use the common areas such as the living room and kitchen. Guests may use the kitchen to cook, but are asked to clean up after themselves when finished. Guests may store food and drinks in the refrigerator. Shoes are to be stored on the shoe rack by the front door. There is free street parking, although it may be difficult to find an open spot at certain times. I do have a garage which guests are able to use for parking, however the garage is small and will only hold a full size car at most.
Two blocks away from Crocker Amazon Park, short walk to John Mclaren Park. Blocks away from food, coffee shops, and stores.

  • First time staying at a hostel and at first I was honestly concerned about safety cleanliness and everything, but I found out that that was all unnecessary. Location is good. • Carrie was a great host, easy to reach and responded quickly to any questions or concerns I had. The apartment is in a great location in North Beach. It is close to the piers and a short walk to Chinatown. Downtown SF and Japantown are fairly close by car or public transport too.

  • We had high expectations for a beautiful view in a charming part of San Francisco, and yet they were exceeded by such a great place to stay in an amazing city. So much fun and such a great apartment.

    David2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Carrie is an amazing host and her place is sublime. Expectations were frankly high going in and they were exceeded on many counts. Will definitely recommend this place to other travelers and hope that we have the opportunity to lodge here again. Bravo, Carrie!

  • Amazing space in the heart of it all! We loved the location and felt very safe. We could easily walk anywhere we wanted to see and although there is no designated parking, we managed to find spots throughout our stay with a little work. It was so much fun, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Loved it!

Stay at our Artsy home in SF's Portola District. One bedroom available in our home with kids & two cats. Great Hikes! WE LIVE IN THE HOME. We do get up early and there is some AM noise. 2 min walk to bus & 15 min ride to subway. 15 drive downtown or 45 min on bus/train. Easy freeway access! 15 min drive to SFO airport! Come enjoy a quiet getaway from the hubbub of the City... We are NOT close to tourist area but it's a sweet spot. Lots of street parking!
Guests love the bed! The bedroom is decorated and has simple furniture. See photos.
Visit Maclaren Park to hike! Breakfast at Tiffany's is super yummy! Four Barrel Coffee is also great! There is a grocery store called Grocery Outlet about 10 blocks away. And we have a new brew pub in the hood, Ferment Drink Repeat! 10 min drive to Bernal Heights where there are some more restaurants, bars, and cute shops.
  • Very friendly home!

  • This airbnb is very artistic! It's a great space and room, but you must like cats. I love cats, and Michelle's were very nice and friendly. The airbnb is on a giant hill, so be careful if you have a disability.

    Levi2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The hill is huge. If you have a lot of heavy luggage, you may need a car. Everything else was good. The host was very careful to relax and the two cats were so cute.

  • We had a great time at Michelle’s house! Her house is super cute and we loved the location. It was quiet, scenic and had easy accesss to other parts of the city. We were very comfortable and Michelle was super accommodating. It was a nice peaceful place to return to after a busy day in the city. Michelle is an awesome host. We hope to stay again next time we come to San Francisco!

  • michelle's place was lovely! It has artsy touches and it feels cozy and comfortable. We had everything we needed and felt at ease and inspired in her family friendly space. it was not in the hustle and bustle of downtown SF but close enough by car to go anywhere and 10-15 min away from the airport. We met briefly in the am and she was very sweet, approachable and genuine! Would definitely recommend! ~River

A hostbear & 2 cats offer a 3rd-floor walk-up book-lined guest room (morning sun) w/original fixtures (1911) in vibrant Duboce Triangle nabe w/great public transportation & restaurant choices, a half-block from a dog park. Walking distance to the Lower Haight, Mission and Castro areas. Many breakfast places within 2 blocks.
No food in room: eat in kitchen. Housekeeper comes in twice a week to do thorough cleaning of flat (except occupied guest room) and sanitizing 1.5 baths and quartzite surfaces in kitchen. Dogs no more than 25lbs/12kg, please. Smoking in Tree House (back deck) only, please.
Old-time San Francisco charm, a semi-rural setting in The City.
  • Location is really, really good. Much better than we were expecting. The place is certainly clean. Our only issue was with regards to meals 'at home'. Stephen requests that you should eat in the kitchen, which is fair enough because the bedroom is beautiful and would be difficult to clean if crumbs and drinks were spilt. However, the kitchen is rather cluttered and constantly smells like cat food making meals at home a rather undesirable experience. If you love cats, he has two wonderfully adorable large cats names Roger and Sam. Absolute sweet hearts the both of them. If you are looking for a place to lay your head in a really convenient part of San Francisco, Stephen's home is the one for you as long as you don't mind sharing a bathroom and toilet (both were clean, and our timetables never clashed) and if you eat out for most meals.

  • Beautiful space! Friendly host and gorgeous neighborhood

  • Great location - in walking distance to everything & access to pub trans. Stephen is knowledgeable and happy to share local tips on where to check out and grab a bite -loved our time in San Fran.

    Meredith2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Stephen's place was great. The location is impossible to beat, the street is peaceful and there are cafe's, supermarkets and parks right around the corner. The house itself is beautiful, and with a lot of charm. The room is big and very cozy, and with amazing window views through which beautiful light comes in in the mornings. Stephen is a great host, it was a pleasure to meet him. We know we will be coming back to San Francisco, and the first place we'll look for availability will definetely be Stephen's place!

  • Nice place in Castro.. had no problem to travel around the city. We stayed for 7nights, and we were pleased. There are 2 adorable huge cat.. which we loved. You can also meet raccoons at the balcony ! they understand english apparently... Anyway, we had a great time in SF and this house was part of it.

    수현2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great and Stephen is a really communicative and helpful host. The library room was quaint and the perfect rest spot between sightseeing around San Francisco. Would highly recommend to anyone staying here for a few days and looking for a charming central location!

  • It’s a lovely space charming as it is. Cats are fluffy and quiet. Super convenience transportation and food and market are within walkable distance. You can see raccoons in the backyard. Stephen is very careful too, thanks for hosting! I quite enjoy the experience here.

You are renting a private bedroom in a 4-bedroom home with a shared kitchen and 2 full bathrooms. • WalkScore 96 ('Walker's Paradise') • Bike Score 98 ('Biker's Paradise') • Transit Score 80 ('Excellent Transit') • Netflix on TV! • Fully equipped + stocked kitchen • Extremely safe neighborhood • Free street parking, no hourly limit • Space heater in room • Bus stop or muni/street car 2 blocks away to downtown
Fully renovated as of mid-2017, the home has four bedrooms that are rented on Airbnb. I'm sorry, but I cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs :/ There are many nearby cafe's and restaurants you can use, please see my online guidebook!

  • I stayed at Je & Darren's place for a month. I had a full time job to go and was also house hunting. Walk to the Muni stop was just 5 mins which made my commute easier. I had my doubts about the shared baths, but had absolutely zero issues. I was able to rest well thanks to their silent hours rule. Je & Darren was so accommodative to my requests, I was able to receive packages which helped me move into my apartment seamlessly. It was a wonderful stay, thanks Je & Darren :)

  • I loved the room, and all the house, everthing always clean, and had everthing that I needed to cook in the kitchen, and when I needed to talk about something you were available to help, My stayed was incredible, I just want to say thank you for everthing!

    Alex2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, quiet, and safe neighborhood that is super close to the L Muni stop. My roommate and I loved the cute kitchen and having two bathrooms was definitely a plus. You get your own locked room inside a shared apartment and you share two bathrooms that are frequently cleaned by the owners themselves. When we arrived, it was super easy to get into the apartment through their padlock. Their beds were a good touch on the experience, and this place is also super close to the Shabu Shabu place that is down the street (along with Safeway/Walgreens).

    Kevin2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Je and Derren’s place for a little over a month, and it was everything we needed for the temporary long term stay. Je and Derren were really friendly, responsive, and incredibly accommodating during our stay and did everything they could to make us comfortable. Our room and the shared spaces were cute and modern. We couldn’t have ask for a better host experience and would totally recommend to anyone looking for long term stay!

    Yan2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! Stay here if you get the chance. The place was extremely clean and updated with modern finishes. It was centrally located, so it did not take us long to get anywhere. The street we stayed on is super quiet, but still close to everything we needed. We were also able to park for free on the street right outside. Je & Derren greeted us when we checked in, showed us around, and made themselves available to us during our stay. Their guidebook and tips were a great touch as we used them to find places to eat. Overall, great stay!

    Rachel2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic! So clean and was insanely convenient to go to and from when we needed to. They really have this down to a science! Also, we took them up on some of their local tips and got our BEST MEAL after 5 days in San Fran from a Cuban place called cha cha cha.

    Shane2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • I & Derren are caring and always smiling hosts! The house is located 5min from the L line, which in addition to passing very often, is perfect for quickly reaching downtown San Francisco. We were also close to all kinds of shops, from the supermarket, restaurants and laundromat. The neighborhood is totally secure! Common areas are clean and maintained by a housekeeper. We had a great time, not to mention that our hosts were kind enough to take us to Twin Peaks at night, one of our most memorable memories! Thanks again I & Derren :)

    Lucie2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • So convenient. Perfect for the two nights I needed. It was modern, clean, and very much built around servicing Airbnb customers. I recommend it for anyone spending a few nights in the city! I would come back.

Wake to Atlantic blues and driftwood hues in a light-filled home with a zen vibe. Eclectic decor includes mosaic tiles, colored bottles, and a kilim rug. Take drinks from the kitchen into an inviting garden with outdoor lounge and hammock.
The house is located only two blocks from the beach, you can hear the ocean at nights, golden gate park is nearby as well. It still has the 40s-50s era, you might see sands on steps, well it's right next to the beach :) it’s small with one bedroom and a kitchen but it has a lot of light!
Two blocks from the beach, the residence is located in a quiet, down-to-earth neighborhood, near Noriega Street with its small coffee shops, restaurants, and a very good bakery. Stroll to Golden Gate Park, or take the nearby Muni line to downtown.
  • We LOVED our short stay at Sara's! The place was so beautifully designed and in such a perfect location. Everything you needed was there, the pillows were particularly comfy too. We felt super chilled throughout our stay, very much a home away from home. We walked the 15 seconds to the beach to watch the sunset over the waves - so gorgeous. The local transport links were excellent, a short walk to many bus stop routes ($3 on the muni for a ticket that lasts 2 hours, brilliant). Sara was so fast at getting back to us when we had questions and queries, a very thoughtful host. We were meant to stay for longer, but had to cut our stay short due to the madness in the world at the moment, Sara was super understanding and wonderful throughout our predicament. We missed out on a lot of our plans, so have vowed to return, where I can only hope to stay at Sara's again. Thank you!

  • I felt at home, quiet and protected with backyard fence, and loved having plants right outside the window. Awesome eclectic restaurants and shops close by. Path for running and walking running is just down the street. Easy to get to city, piers and hiking spots. Perfect little getaway vacation.

    Emily2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our stay at Sara’s! It was comfortable, cozy, clean, and just as pictured. Sara was great: friendly, welcoming, helpful, & always responded quickly. Our check-in was smooth and parking was plentiful. Its just a block to the beach, so easy to walk down to watch the sunset each night. It’s also walking distance to some great neighborhood cafes, bars, an excellent co-op, and a few shops in either direction. This sweet spot was so nice to come home to each day, and we loved how quiet the neighborhood is. It was such a bonus to have our own outdoor space to enjoy, as well. We spent time there every morning and evening, listening to the waves in the distance. Thanks so much, Sara! We had such a great time staying at your gem of a place, & cant wait to return.

  • We loved our stay at Sara’s adorable place. So cute and cozy and we loved how close we were to the beach. Perfect for a morning run and to watch the sunset in the evening. It was a great home-base for our short city visit. Thank you Sara!

This is a nice little room in a four bedroom house in the Mission District. It has a very comfy double sized bed and lots of storage. A big window with lots of natural light. Fast internet connection and access to a sunny rooftop.
The house sits right next to the oldest standing house in San Francisco, our house is about the same age, with its quirks and weird architectural design. It might not be fancy but has a lot of character and charm. There is a toilet/sink room and a separate shower room with an extra sink, a large kitchen and laundry area in the back. You also would have access to our unit downstairs with an extra kitchen and bathroom/shower and the chance to meet fellow travelers.
The house is located just one block away from all the fun of 24th st. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, galleries, markets and street art around. The Mission is one of the districts that offers more fun in San Francisco, there are plenty of restaurants, galleries, coffee shops, bars and clubs to visit. Lots of parks too: Potrero Del Sol park, Garfield Square and Precita Park are just a short walk away.

You'll love this listing! This is a cozy private room w/ queen memory foam bed (& twin air mattress), personal massage chair, & TV w/ free Prime Video & Disney+. You'll have access to kitchen (fridge, microwave, stove/oven, dishes, coffee, etc.) & 2 bathrooms (shared w/ other guests). Free/easy street parking. Be a quick 14 min drive from SFO, 3 min walk to T train (takes you downtown, AT&T Park, Chase Center), and a 13 min drive to downtown. You'll have great access to all of SF!
Please note that while your rooms are 100% private with a lock on it that only you will have, you will be sharing the kitchen and two bathrooms with three other Airbnb rooms. This is part of the fun though as you can meet different people from around the world who are staying here with you. Access to the kitchen and bathrooms is usually fine as most people spend the majority of their time out and about in the city, but sometimes during peak travel times you may feel the house being a little more full. So to be very clear, you will see several other Airbnb guests in the home who are living close to you (the nature of such a dense city as San Francisco) and sharing the kitchen and bathrooms, but as you can see in the reviews that my guests have loved their time here as people are usually very friendly and respectful. Also please note that the skylight above you is the only window access in this room. We live in one of the best areas in San Francisco for parking. Most places you'll need to pay for parking or drive around for a while looking, but on my block there is free parking and you'll usually be able to park right by my house. The only time it'll be a little harder is late at night but even then you should be able to find a spot within a block or two.
  • They provide free breakfast such as oatmeal, franks and eggs, and coffee that you can make for yourself. I like that it is 5 min away from the KT, or the Muni bus, which makes it accessible to many places.

  • David’s place is great. I really liked the studio. So nice to have a full well appointed kitchen and bath. The bedroom is spacious and comfy with a seating area. The space heater came in handy and I enjoyed the private entry, and the thoughtful details like soaps and scented room freshener spray. Also, the driveway parking spot is a huge plus. I love the sunlight that comes in the morning. Perfect morning at David’s: cup of coffee, crawl back in bed, open the curtains and bask in the sun beams for the slow wake-up with a view into the lush, green and flowery garden. Flowers in February and March! Restaurants and cafes are a block away, there’s a handy bus line at the street corner, and the ocean is nearby as well as many other amenities that David told me about. This is a true San Francisco neighborhood with everything you need, I got to live like a San Franciscan. Great place.

March-2020 update: We are still accepting reservations and continuing our normal operations. Experience authentic San Francisco living in this gorgeous Victorian house at the heart of San Francisco. Step out to the beautiful Duboce Park and explore the many cafes, restaurants and bars nearby. Walk everywhere from Market Street to Painted Ladies, or take the subway around the corner. Come back home to relax in your beautifully decorated large suite with memory foam bed, comfy sofas, and TV.
I love this beautiful light filled room with high ceilings and Victorian trims. It's been carefully decorated to give you maximum comfort and privacy. In your room you'll find a memory foam queen size bed, soft sheets, extra pillows and bedding, large convertible sofa bed, a workstation desk, wardrobe, large screen TV with Netflix. Fast Xfinity Business Class WiFi Internet. Our house is a classic two-level Victorian where the guest room is on the upper level and the bathroom is on the first level. Microwave, mini-fridge, hairdryer, shampoo and body wash, iron and ironing board are available for your convenience. Clean and fresh towels are provided at the beginning of your stay.
Our house is located in Duboce Triangle, at the intersection of Castro, Hayes, and Lower Haight. This quaint residential neighborhood’s centrality contributes to its sought-after status. While this put-together neighborhood is distinctly tranquil, the bustling nightlife and shopping options of The Castro, Mission, Hayes and Lower Haight are mere steps away
  • We loved the location and having the freedom of using local transit to get around. The room was so clean and the bed SOOOOO soft. 100/100 would definitely stay again.

    Iva2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Serhan knows what it takes to be a host. There were a lot of thoughtful touches to the place. Even though there isn't a kitchen, there is an area with a microwave and other little amenities that he really didn't need to provide. I found the bed very comfy and will definitely come back to stay again should I ever find myself in SF. Thanks for a great stay!

    Jemie2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This room is absolutely beautiful. From the decor to the big windows, everything about this exceeded my expectations. Easy check in, very clean and pleasant smelling, the space is very quiet and private. Will definitely look into this room again on my next trip.

    Malari2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great space and even better location! The room size was great and the shared restroom was always clean. Check in and check out was easy

    Mohammad2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lot of fun in SF, thanks for the hospitality! The house is in a very nice neighborhood, the room was very specious and the bed super comfy.

    Iii2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, organized! Good location but not so easy for street parking at night, if you’re using public transportation is perfect for you! For sure I’ll stay there again when I come back.

    Luiza2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It's in a safe place and there are pretty cafes around. There's a park right in front of it, and a safeway There are also local restaurants. There are lots of trains, trains and buses, and Mission Street, which is hot in San Francisco these days, is close to the airport. The room was wider than I thought and I also liked the TV. The interior looks like it's going to be in a real drama The ceiling was high and the windows were big. There is a shared bathroom, but not everyone's hours of use overlap, so there was no problem to use and it was very clean. The host is also a good contact soon ~ I recommend ^^

    Mi2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The location is far from the city centre. Other facilities are really clean and well equipped with towels and shampoo. Good for a night

We were even able to leave our bags since no one was staying the next day. Very clean and updated. Recommend to anyone looking for a nice place for two people.

Ask the host directly. The room shares two walls with the house, so you may hear some muffled noise from the residents and vice versa. Please chat, laugh, be exuberant, and play music, but after 10:00 PM other residents will be sleeping.
This quiet, safe neighborhood in the hills of SF is a short walk from McLaren Park where you can find a natural spring, take in views of the Bay Area, and enjoy some hiking. Once you book, you can see the Guidebook with 80+ nearby recommended restaurants and places to go. This location is quiet and private, but it's about a 1 mile walk to restaurants, so usually you'll start your adventures with a short car ride. San Francisco is a small city, and you can go anywhere in a few minutes by car, traffic permitting. You can drive to the Golden Gate Bridge in as little as 20 minutes if you get up early. Best to plan to travel during non-commute hours. Getting around is pretty easy. Car services arrive so fast you have to be ready when you call. Buses run nearby that go nice places. From your room, head out to experience SF's world-class food, shopping, museums, parks, and other delights. If you're short on time, plan a meal in nearby Bernal Heights (10 mins by car), where you may get in without a reservation (but reservations recommended). Other districts on this side of town include The Mission, SOMA, Lower Haight, The Castro, the Waterfront, the Fillmore, the Financial District, Noe Valley, the Embarcadero, Union Square, and South Park. You can also walk to modest San Bruno Avenue in about 15 minutes where you can: - Get a quick meal or a dessert - Spot unusual fruit, fish, herbs, and medicines in the markets - Get your nails done - Get a locally made beer at FDR
  • Nice place. Great location. Perfect

    Villeneuve2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great space. Very clean, stylish, bed is huge!

    Nicholas2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The space itself: - Extremely clean, private, and secluded - Quiet residential neighborhood - Awesome hot tub out on the patio - Amenities are accurately described/provided (mini-fridge was great! Even had some beverages/snacks available, as well as essential toiletries) - Heated blankets helped since February is still a bit chilly in the city - Spacious and lots of natural light Host/hospitality: - Lance was extremely helpful during check in - he has a very detailed and straightforward check in guide, but when I came in a little later at night to check in, I got lost and he guided me to the right gate. - Quick responses, shared some local recommendations/favorites, in addition to the extensive list of highlights he shares on airbnb. Other Notes: - Located on a rather steep hill with residents' cars - may be hard to find parking, and difficult to park on an incline/decline if you're not used to the city. Luckily we found parking right across the entrance! Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again if I had the chance!

This is a nice room in a four bedroom house in the Mission District. It has a very comfy queen sized bed, plus an extra bed/chair can be pull out for extra guest. There is a swing, huge windows that face the street, fast internet connection, Smart TV and access to a drum set that you can use during your stay. You also would have access to our unit downstairs with an extra kitchen and bathroom/shower and the chance to meet fellow travelers.
The house sits right next to the oldest standing house in San Francisco, our house is about the same age, with its quirks and weird architectural design. It might not be fancy but has a lot of character and charm. There is a toilet/sink room and a separate shower room with an extra sink, a large kitchen and laundry area in the back.
~~PARKING INFORMATION~~ There is no private parking in this building, only street parking. San Francisco has one of highest real estate prices in the country (or world) which makes private parkings a luxury that not too many residents enjoy. If you are bringing a car into the city (not recommended unless you are doing road trips outside) please plan ahead and be aware that traffic, driving directions and parking in the city might be a hassle, especially if you are not familiar with local traffic and parking rules. Your car might be parked free in most streets around the house but pay attention to the posted parking restrictions, time limits, cleaning days, red or yellow zones, blocking driveways etc. This rules are enforced and fines are very expensive. The closest private garage is by SF General Hospital (about 2 blocks away) On 24th st between Utah and San Bruno fares are about $15/night.

Imagine falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. This clean, quiet garden apartment is perfect for the nature loving city dweller. Steps from the beach, Golden Gate Park, the Zoo and more. Ample street parking and MUNI train 2 blocks away.
Private in-law apartment offering 2 beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable rooms. The bedroom includes a queen bed with crisp linens a down comforter, warm wool rug, beautiful art and closet and dresser for your belongings. The second room is a living space with a couch that converts to a full bed, a separate comfortable reading chair and lamp. The 42" flat screen is equipped with Apple TV and high speed wireless internet. The kitchenette is fully stocked with pots, pans and dishes. A microwave, toaster oven, electric kettle, 5 cup coffee maker, electric induction counter top range and small fridge complete the kitchen and make it operational for light cooking. Complimentary coffee, tea and a bottle of wine offered to all guests. The private bathroom is small but bright and clean with shower over tub, complementary shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. The private garden has a bistro table making it a perfect spot for morning coffee while listening to the waves and surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Ample, free street parking available in the neighborhood.
The "outerlands" as this area of the city used to be called is where nature meets urban, widely and wonderfully. Families, surfers, artists, hipsters, techies and eccentrics come together to create a multicultural neighborhood that is dominated by the ocean and the sky! Really I think the Sunset District is San Francisco's best kept secret. It is clean and safe and quiet at night. You are about a half hour from the hustle and bustle of downtown (by car or public transport). Out here the streets are wider, the backyards bigger, and free parking is easy to find. People who like the outdoors love the location, especially for surfing, jogging, cycling, and hiking. Typically the Sunset can be foggy in June and July, but is clear and beautiful most of the rest of the year. Fall is stellar. Yearly temperatures hover in the 60-65 degrees. Golden Gate Park is only 4 blocks north and is filled with absolutely everything you can imagine: free concerts, archery ranges, entertainment pools, beautiful gardens, a bison paddock, polo field, duck ponds, and everything that you could possibly imagine! Including, The Academy of Science Museum, De Young art museum, and Japanese Tea Garden, The Arboretum and Conservatory of Flowers, plus great hiking, running and biking trails. We're also a popular destination for marathon participants and concert-goers, with events nearby like Bay to Breakers, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, and Outside Lands. There is a beautiful 5 mile walking path directly across from my home. It spans from Sloat Blvd. to the Cliff House/Sutro Baths. Popular restaurants include: Thanh Long, Outerlands, Cliff House, Beach Chalet & Brewery, Celia's Mexican Restaurant, Sunset Reservoir Brewery Company, Devils Teeth Bakery, Andy Town Coffee shop, Java Beach Café and many more. Great choice of shops selling locally made surfboards, jewelry and art... The Last Straw, San Franpsyco apparel, Establish and The General Store just to name a few.
  • You will NOT be disappointed by staying here! Heather truly went ABOVE and BEYOND. Our trip was medically necessary for an upcoming surgery and happened during the COVID-19. While flying across country our landing was disrupted due to the earthquake in Utah and we were rerouted which prolonged the journey dramatically. Heather made sure that we had a hot meal, fresh fruit, yogurt, drinks and more waiting for our late night arrival. The place itself is absolutely stunning! The sweet aroma of flowers in the back garden was lovely. The bed was so comfortable that we are looking to get the same mattress. The location is PERFECT! It's located right beside the crosswalk to get to the beach. This was our first Airbnb stay and feel sure it's going to make it impossible for anything else to compare. She truly set the standards high!

  • Heather was a lovely host, greeting us when we arrived and giving us a quick tour of the place and any advice we needed. The rooms were very clean and the bed was so comfortable. • It's close to Hays Valley, so it's easy to walk around, and even if you take the lift, you'll be well in front of your house. There's no washing machine or hair dryer. There are a lot of small snacks all over the place and the water comes out. There is also a bidet.

  • Excellent location. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and public transportation. Beautiful area in the back that was landscaped. Comfy bed and well stocked with what we needed for our stay. Everything was clean and it felt homey. Donna was available at a moments notice when we needed her. What small issue occurred that was not the owners fault, and she took action and corrected this immediately. We would choose to stay here again in the future.
