Places to stay in St. Clair Shores
Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historic neighborhood, which is at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.

  • Fantastic location and a beautiful space. There is a grand view through large windows across Michigan Ave to the Michigan Central Station, which we enjoyed during a snowstorm. In addition to the two beds, there is a loft that provides additional sleeping space.

This two story warehouse was constructed in 1914 by Jam Handy. After a successful career as an Olympian athlete, Handy pioneered visual learning and contributed immensely to the areas of motion picture production, film technology, and telecommunications. Many of the building on this block were part of his film production complex that produced 7,000+ films. This building and neighborhood continues to be a welcoming place for industrial design thinking. Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • Great place in a great location. I will definitely chek it out again.

A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. In response to coronavirus, we are blocking four days of vacancy between all guests, and doing extensive disinfecting cleans of the space and linens. Kitchens are stocked with food. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots, including a house in West Village that can host up to 16 people: http://airbnb.com/p/detroitwildwest This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm. Since I took the listing photos, I have had new counters and cabinets installed in the kitchen (it's better!). The dishwasher has also been removed per building policy.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • Great space, location, and overall good value. I would definitely recommend for a couple or group of close friends.

    L-Jay2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here! We had a great Saturday night out in Detroit, but the highlight of our trip was honestly the space where we got to feel at home for the night. It was such a beautiful place.

    Kim2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I was traveling for work & instead of being stuck in a hotel for a month, I tried my luck with this Air BnB. The apartment itself was fantastic--the layout is spacious and elegantly decorated. The building itself, an old warehouse converted into lofts, was industrial & spooky at times, but the loft was incredibly homey and secure. There's available amenities--basic kitchen tools and dishes, shower amenities (such as shampoo and lotion), and bedding/pillows. Karen, the co-host who manages the loft, is great with communication and more than accommodating. If you plan to stay for an extended period of time as I did, she will even come to replace the linens and towels with fresh ones so you do not have to worry about that yourself. They even have part of the room decorated with artwork from local artists available for purchase if you are keen on taking home a keepsake from the city. This loft made me feel at home while away from my actual home for so long & I will definitely be trying to stay again given the opportunity.

  • Really cool space. It’s got that reclaimed arty vibe that I really love. The location is really cool, right by the water. I would highly recommend this place. Great price too.

*Please read to the end before booking* Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors, pillars and steam pipes are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area (an urban explorer’s dream) Within a 10 min drive to you can get to everything Detroit has to offer. My loft and I were featured in AirbnbMag November 2018!!
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. At the moment it is ideal for couples or 2 people who are ok sharing the bed on the ground floor. The upstairs area is off limits until spring, because it gets very warm up there from the steampipes. This is stands until amount mid April. Sleeping arrangements: • Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress • Sofa for 1 (not too tall) •WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C, radiators, fans for temp control
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants~ The loft is located in an industrial and unique neighborhood. I would call it an urban explorer’s dream! The building is surrounded by a train junction and a field, a little piece of nature where you can spot pheasants and coyotes. Many buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens, music venues and bars, but there are still industrial in-use buildings. The neighborhood is down the street from Midtown. For those who know Detroit, it is not considered a sketchy area. I know this building and area well, say it is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • This space is the perfect Bohemian oasis for anyone looking for this aesthetic. The natural textures, bright colors and gold accents made for a lovely photoshoot with my wellness clients. There were also a few plants in the space that made for great props. I will be back!

    Bailey2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is absolutely gorgeous! The heat was fairly high, which I found very cozy but might be too much for some. Although it definitely is not in Georgia’s control, we did have an issue with the upstairs neighbors making a fair amount of noise, it sounded like running. But for everything Georgia can do, it was great!

    Amelia2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay if you want to explore downtown Detroit. Only a 5-10 minute Uber away from downtown. Very stylish place, really well decorated! Would highly recommend staying here. Host is very friendly too

    Diarmuid2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place, glad we stayed here. Georgia was a great host that I would highly recommend.

    Cade2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia's place is so cute! We loved the decor and it was very clean and comfortable. Georgia warns you about how hot it gets in the apartment, and she's right! That might be the only downside...but the building is really cool and it's a unique place to stay in Detroit. She was very responsive and a great host.

    Sierra2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia’s place is great! Super stylish and well put together. Her description of the space was spot on and the space fit our needs perfectly. We will definitely be back

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to print, copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our short weekend in Detroit. There were special touches like snacks in the freezer and an homage to the dear Taco the cat. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Taco during our stay but it is clear that Taco is very loved. I loved the decor and the quaintness of the home on the outside and inside. Check in process was easy. House is very clean, but has a faint cat smell (nothing that you can't live with). It's on a quieter street in Detroit and relatively close to where we needed to be this weekend. The area further away from the home (down the block) has a lot of litter and few abandoned houses in the near area. All in all it was a good time, a great place to stay and we would stay again! Thank you for your hospitality!

    Jennifer2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • Beautiful, stylish, clean space with tons of natural light. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay for me and my partner. We especially loved the living space and the kitchen - it was wonderful cooking in their fully equipped kitchen and dining in the open space. We also enjoyed the company of our friendly furry visitor, Taco the cat! Hosts were also very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend this stay for anyone coming through Detroit.

  • Shu and Tyler were two of my favorite hosts in 5 years of using AirBnB across 10 countries. In addition to being kind, they are accommodating, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They offered cereal and conversation every morning, tips on navigating Detroit, and chargers for your phone (USB-c or iPhone) in the bedroom. Their apartment is clean and well decorated -- in their words, it felt like my second home, especially when I snuggled up with their friendly cat. The price is a great value, the location offers easy access to the metro Detroit area, and there are numerous delicious restaurants to try. Book here! You won't be disappointed.

Generally laid back and quiet, come relax while you get away.
A cozy up-to-date home welcomes you for a place to stay on your trip.
A fairly quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Families will be seen during the day playing in their yards and strolling the sidewalks with children or furry friends. And although generally quiet at night the occasional weekend get together with laughs around a backyard fire pit are always welcome.
  • Clean areas. Clean bed and nice place to rest.

The Paris room offers a touch of Europe to your stay. High thread count ironed sheets guarentee a great night's sleep. Artwork depicts Paris. Our new home is a 1700 sq. ft. ranch that is just lovely and closer to downtown and beautiful Lake St Clair! An added bonus is an amazing sun porch that runs the entire length of the home. With 5 seating areas, you'll be sure to enjoy your morning coffee or evening beverage even more! Continental breakfast, water, pop and snacks provided daily.
A beautiful ranch located minutes from downtown and area expressways.
Very quiet neighborhood surrounded by green space and parks. We are very close to I-94 so it makes getting around really convenient.

  • Nancy’s place was great! She was so hospitable and made me feel at home. She was super welcoming. The bed was soft and the space was very clean!

    Keith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice experience. The hospitality of Nancy & David was outstanding. It is a very comfortable place to stay for many reasons. Very clean house and a great location. The amenities were always available and plentiful. Their dog, Cooper, is a little joy. I will stay here again, if possible. I highly recommend Nancy's place.

    Bob2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • I just finished a 3 night stay at Nancy’s place. It was clean and comfortable with lots of touches that made it feel like home. There were always plenty of snacks, fruit and drinks available. Nancy and David are very kind and gracious hosts. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome in their home. I would definitely stay there again!

    Sandra2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy made the check-in process very simple with her prompt and clear communication. She opened the door for me herself when I arrived. She asked if I was hungry, and through and through she made me feel like part of the family. The room was perfect, and I felt I had all the amenities I could ever want. My personal bathroom was a plus. When I returned the second evening they were finishing up a repair on the toilet from an emergency situation, and they had it ready for me again in minutes! I am very grateful to Nancy & co. for their wonderful hospitality. I would recommend their place before any other stay in the area.

    Christopher2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's place was a great place to stay with amazing amenities! Nancy and her husband were very friendly and welcoming! It was a great value and we hope to stay again when we are in the area!!

    Cathy2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • There are many available toiletries and my favorite part is the personal thermostat. The bed was very comfortable, so after a night of partying at a wedding reception, I knocked out quick. There is a small dog and I personally am not immediately fond of pets like many people. So that was rather uncomfortable, but Nancy's service exceeded my expectations. Anyone who stays can quickly notice the large amount of thought that Nancy put into the set up of her rooms for guests. Also, I don't know much about the area, but I noticed that the neighborhood is quiet and walking distance from a few fast food spots.

Get out of the downtown rush and traffic for a restful stay in a calm and lovely apartment. Only 2 blocks from I-96, stay close to the city center action without the steep downtown prices!
PARKING: Plenty of free street parking directly in front of this unit. FOOD & DRINK: Coffee, tea, filtered water, popcorn air popper & kernels, fresh fruit, & supplies for a DIY breakfast. If you wish to cook other meals, request any specific kitchen utensils or cookware you may need and we will do our best to supply! FAMILY FRIENDLY: We love using Airbnb when we travel with our family and we'd love to accommodate any children traveling with you too! We have 2 folding cots, a pack n' play, high chair, children's games and toys all available by request. PETS: We have a few outdoor kitties who may greet you at the door, but they are not permitted inside. Feel free to take a walk to the backyard and meet our dozen brown hens! NOISE: This unit is the upper unit of a multi-family home. We have two young sons and two teenage boys who live with us as well. We do our best to be courteous of guests with our volume of music and play.
This home is located on a quiet neighborhood street, and like many neighborhood streets in Detroit, our block has some vacant homes. The occupied homes on our block are well cared for by kind retired folks and middle-aged families with kids. We've lived here peacefully for over 7 years and appreciate the many ways our neighbors look out for us. There is a full-size grocery and liquor store located less than 5 minute walk from this home. CVS, Dollar General, and fast food options all within walking distance. At this time, most restaurant delivery services do not deliver to this area, although grocery services such as Instacart and Shipt do deliver.
  • Lindsay's place is great. It is convenient if you need a place near Detroit, but not in the city. The neighborhood is quiet and her place is comfortable and easy to get to. I will definitely go back if I need a stay near Detroit!

    Jamie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsey’s is cute and quaint. Exactly as pictured. She’s super accommodating and it was easy to find.

    Asia2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay is an incredible, thoughtful, gracious host who made herself available to me from the very beginning of my booking. Check-in is easy and comes with user-friendly photos and instructions over the airbnb app. The house is cute, clean, and welcoming, although it is in an area that appears to be more rough than what I am used to. I spent time in several areas in Detroit, both near and far from Lindsay's neighborhood, and I honestly cannot say that I felt more unsafe in Lindsay's neighborhood that I did in any of those other Detroit neighborhoods. All in all, brava Lindsay! Highly recommended for anyone spending time in Detroit who is looking for a home away from home.

    Ashley2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice 2 bedroom apartment about 20 mins from Detroit. It’s a perfect, out of the way location. Loved having 2 separate bedrooms. Call for a Uber pick up. That also went smoothly. All in all a great weekend. Just two old moms. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bright, spacious and fun. Wake up to the sunrise just out your window and enjoy a cup of coffee observing the calm waters and view of Windsor Canada. Only 5 minutes from downtown detroit. This loft overlooks the river and is connected to the beautiful and romantic riverwalk. Enjoy a scenic walk or bike ride through some od Detroit's best kept secrets such as the dequinder cut and Belle Isle.
The building stays true to Detroit's cultural history as it is rustic and once used by manufacturers. Turned into an artist's loft space, the living space features exposed red brick throughout. Interior decor is Mid-Century meets Contemporary themes. Coffee and cereal included.
The neighborhood is very safe. The apartment building is directly on the Detroit River Front, which it should be noted that the River Front has completely been renovated and truly family friendly. A Walgreens is directly across the street as well as a gas station on the corner. Getting around is fairly easy. Most restaurants and cafes are within a 5-10 minute driving distance.

**About that Corona virus.** If you still need to travel, a single family home to yourself is relatively safe! Intense cleaning protocol is being practiced. All surfaces are disinfected between reservations, and all linens are washed, including bedspreads and throw pillows, everything. The Duck 'N' Roll inn is a 3 bedroom home situated on a urban duck farm. A combination of contemporary features and old-time cottage charm will keep you comfortable and cozy while you enjoy Detroit's east side.
The Duck 'N' Roll Inn has been a home to journalists, documentary filmmakers, artists, performers, urban planners and explorers, and this year, a temporary home for families reuniting. It's been a joy to teach the kids about the ducks! The "Duck 'N' Roll Inn" is an eclectic farmhouse on an urban duck farm, officially known as Laid In Detroit. The farm provides pasture raised duck eggs to Rock City Eatery, as well as local residents. Located in the easy-going east side, Laid In Detroit was voted "Best Inner City Duck Farm" by the staff of the Metro Times. Though it's not so much an "inner city" vibe as it is a laid back oasis amongst urban sprawl. It encompasses 6 city lots full of trees and garden, The house has 3 bedrooms--a nautical room, and kid friendly room, and a spacious bedroom known as "the disco room," which features a large skylight, a woodburning stove, enormous chalk boards, and a sound system with a disco ball so that it doubles as a dance floor! There is one full bath with an extra wide jacuzzi tub, as well as a half bath on the first floor. The property also features a steel bbq in the form of a dinosaur, an adobe pizza oven on site, as well as panoramic views of the gardens and the ducks frolicking in the pasture. We have a new addition to the farm! Meg, the livestock guardian dog is keeping us safe from predators and prowlers. Great Pyrenees guardian dogs are known for their friendly, gentle demeanor, as well as their superior livestock guarding abilities. When you meet her, give her a biscuit and a pat. She loves guests! (By the way, the dog is off limits to the house unless invited! No worries if you are allergic or not an animal lover.) The house is full of character with a large kitchen and dining area. The property also has many ecological features, such as a green roof over the duck coop. Your stay here will not only be relaxing and fun, but educational as well. Typical guests who have really enjoyed the Duck 'N' Roll Inn are artists, urban gardening fans, photographers, journalists, film makers, animal lovers, students, musicians, world travelers and anyone with an adventurous mindset. You can also rest easy knowing that the money from your reservation is going directly to a small farm business in a developing neighborhood in Detroit. Laid In Detroit has hosts many events, including an annual Easter party for the kids.
Cornerstone Village, once a stable working class neighborhood founded by Belgian immigrants (some refer to it as "the Belgian triangle") has also been affected by the recent mass exodus from Detroit. But a strong coalition of homeowners with deep roots in the community have held things together. You will encounter some blight and vacant homes in the neighborhood. I am currently waiting for three of them to get knocked down on my street. Hoefully it will happen soon in 2019. There are characters, and oftentimes people are out and about, playing music and socializing, but it is a friendly neighborhood. All guests have had a safe experience here. I haven't had a single incident of crime since I started hosting in 2012. There are many great restaurants nearby, as well as bars, pubs, and grocery stores. The Cadieux Cafe and Ye Olde Tap Room have been around for a century. Trader Joe's and Kroger grocery are within walking distance.
  • I loved this rustic cabin with great amenities! definitely a must see

    Chris2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The stay wa as amazing. The house was stylish and cozy, and to top it off both Meg and the ducks were awesome! Would highly recommend to anyone.

    Noah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Duck 'N' Roll Inn is great! Ducks are fun to watch and Meg was fun to hang out with :) We personally loved it, but we do fit the description of people who like adventures, artists, musicians, etc. and maybe wouldn't recommend this particular place to some of our friends and family who prefer more traditional accommodations. Suzanne was very quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay, was super easy going during our time there, and very understanding when an unfortunate mistake caused some minor damage that I didn't know about before we left. All in all, we had a great stay and would love to go back sometime!

  • Wow! I can hardly put into words how grateful I am for my experience at this cute house! I was visiting my partner in Detroit this week and we needed a quiet place away from his small family home. This place is right on the edge of Gross Pointe so there’s amazing shopping and food. The house is so charming and has everything you need. I especially admired the vintage stove. And don’t get me started on the ducks and sweet dog! This was probably my favorite Airbnb experience yet. Would love to return. Thank you Suzanne!!

  • Eclectic and amazing space in Detroit. Close to many things to see and do. Plenty of space to hang out around the house. The ducks are amazing and fun to listen to. Meg the dog was a sweetie and we loved cuddling with her. This is an older style house but by no means dirty. It was quiet and beautiful outside at night and we felt completely safe.

  • Craig very quick to respond to any questions we had and was very hospitable and considerate. My husband had a appointment for a test at a hospital that was 3 hours away from us and had to be there early in the morning so we was looking for a place to stay overnight that wasn't to expensive, I found Craig's place and felt it was perfect, only 10 minutes from the hospital that we had to go to. They injected him with a contest die and told him to come back 4 hours later for the test so we went back to the house for a nap(Criag offered a 3pm check out that was perfect for us) and Criag was very quiet, trying not to disturb us, we appreciated that very much. Definitely will stay again if we have to go back for more testing. Thank you very much Craig.

    Kim2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had to cancel so we didn't stay there, but Craig was very responsive in all of our communications.

    Alayna2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time @ Craig's & I could not have more thoroughly enjoyed such a truly lovely stay! Excellent all the way around: wonderful home, terrific location, comfortable space w thoughtful, conveniently appointed amenities incl his own outstanding photography throughout. Not to mention it's a tremendous value @ a beyond fair rate! Craig's a great host & super guy. The later check out time is a rarer thing to find & his cat Dupree is the 'icing on the cake' for anyone who likes felines. If you're fortunate enough to find it available, grab it & DON'T miss this one :-) My first stay @ Craig's was a year ago & I hope to return much sooner if I be so blessed as to 'guest' again in this exceptional Royal Oak abode!

    * SPECIAL 50% DISCOUNT DUE TO CURRENT COVID-19 + DOOR HANDLES & ALL HIGH TOUCH SURFACES IN COMMON AREA DISINFECTED DAILY AS CDC RECOMMENDS + ENHANCED SAFETY PROCEDURES REQUIRED FOR ALL GUESTS (See house rules for details) + PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS (DRY COUGH & FEVER) AS YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY TO PROTECT OUR HOUSEHOLD *
This spacious, private bedroom has been fully restored to its original beauty (oak floors refinished, plaster patched & windows replaced). The room features a comfy king-size memory foam bed (size: 76 in x 80 in) with many additional amenities including a microwave, mini fridge and auto-locking digital door lock. OUR HOUSE Our house is not a typical 'AIRBNB' but closer to a big house with a European hostel vibe. In fact, traveling and staying in hostels in South of Spain is how our relationship started, which inspired us to create a space like this. We’ve made lots of friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared living space and we love it. :) With that being said, this is not for everyone. THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU IF: * you like staying in a “European Hostel” style place. We met and fell in love while road tripping and hostelling through Europe and it’s been a goal of ours to recreate that type of place here! * You want to make new friends and socialize with people from around the world. * You don’t mind sharing space with others. In our house we often cook together and some of our rooms don’t have a private bathroom so you’ll need to be okay sharing with others. THIS PLACE MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU IF: * You’re looking for a traditional “bed & breakfast” or hotel. This is not the style we are going for here. * You expect a “full service” experience. Our household is all about self-sufficiency and we expect guests to check themselves in and get in touch with us if there’s anything they need.
Our house is just up from Belle Isle on the same street! We're close to Eastern Market to our north west and West Village / Indian Village to our south east. Straight shot over to Downtown / Midtown and most top attractions are within 3 miles. A lot of homes in this area are being revitalized right now but there are still a lot of work to be done and you'll probably see some blighted houses nearby. If you want some more info about neighborhoods or places to check out please let us know! We have an extensive travel guide we put together for our guests.
  • Good location, really neat layout that allows for meeting new people. Communal resources for breakfast and fun hangout lounge.

    Natalie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot at a great value. The room and shared spaces were very clean. Definitely a lot of activity going on while I was there but I didn't have any issues. Everyone I met was super friendly!

    Gerald2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Best personal touch was the fresh home made bread and coffee in the morning. The bed was super comfortable and provided a great night sleep. Amenities and room was very clean and great value while being close to downtown. Thank you Jenny and Alex.

    Sandro2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great clean space ! Jennifer was very responsive and accommodated me without hesitation. I highly recommend this space if you don't mind the doorm like feel. Even with shared space ,which may include bathrooms, (it depends on the space you pick) privacy was not an issue.

    Lonnisha2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Detroit Adventures was a wonderful place to stay! It’s awesome to see what they’re doing with the place. If you’d like TOTAL privacy, this wouldn’t be your best choice, but like the hosts say in their info, if you’d like to meet some people (even in passing) and stay at a place with more of a hostel-y / communal feel, this is perfect! :)

    Lauren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay, will for sure stay here again :)

    Nikki2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and very clean. The rooms are spacious but cozy. Keep in mind that it's a hostel-like space so the bathrooms and kitchen are communal, but everything is sparkling clean. A delightful home, we would love to stay again.

Detroit International House was Detroit's only International House. Now a multi-level museum come experience the lives of the internationals who transformed an abandoned building into Detroit's coolest Airbnb experience! We have two houses on the block, so actual photos may differ, but both are lovely houses with comfortable and cozy rooms.
This is a private room with one bed workspace and clothing storage. We have 2 houses on the block with a variety of room sizes. Rooms either have single or king size beds, please inquire about availability. My place is in the Pingree Park Neighborhood. Its bikable and/or busable to downtown, Eastern Market, midtown, the Dequindre Cut and Belle Isle, Medical Center, St John Hospital. The house is fully furnished with all amenities of a typical home.
This is probably the only listing at this price range so close to two major bus lines, #6 to downtown and Eastern Market area, #8 (midtown in one direction and St John Hospital in the other direction). Driving? Its a short drive away to hop on I 94 freeway, which also connects to I-75

This is a quintessential Detroit loft, capturing just what the city is all about- taking something old and making it new, breathing new life into it. This gorgeous loft is located in a 1920’s automotive factory, and has retained some of those original characters like the exposed brick, hardwood floors, wood pillars and other little details reminding all that it was a bustling factory. Located in an industrial / up and coming area. Easily access everything Detroit has to offer in 3-10 min.
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. It’s great for couples, small groups or solo travelers. • WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C unit • Private entrance • Parking right outside the door Sleeping arrangements: • Queen pillow top mattress • Twin bed (upstairs) • Sofa
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants~ The loft is located in an industrial and unique neighborhood. I would call it an urban explorer’s dream! The building is surrounded by a train junction and a field, a little piece of nature where you can spot pheasants and coyotes. Many buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens, music venues and bars. The neighborhood is down the street from Midtown. For those who know Detroit, it is not considered a sketchy area. I know this building and area well, and I’d say that it is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • We stayed for one night and the place was very clean and really cute. A great spot to stay and lots of recommendations for places to eat and do around Detroit.

  • Georgia’s place was great for an overnight stay for me and my two sisters. 10 minute drive to downtown, close to nice Midtown restaurants. Pros: cute space, great check in, free and available parking, nice touches in the space like suggestions on where to go in the area, and we found a nice little sewing kit that we actually ended up needing! Cons: the small bed upstairs was very firm and uncomfortable, not easy to move around up there but the pictures of the loft prepared us for that so no surprise there. Thin walls, can hear everything the neighbours are doing or listening to. Luckily we didn’t spend much time in the loft so not really a problem for us!
