  • Wonderful place with spectacular views of New Orleans. The perfect location. Everything was within walking distance. Goldberg’s deli/restaurant which is just around the corner. Was great for breakfast and talk out! We’ll be back!

  • Great views and great location.

    Griffin2019-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, close to bourbon street and restaurants. Nice bedroom. Pullout couch had a mattress topper that was a nice addition. Bathroom shower had mold around the bottom. Hallways smelled bad. Picture of the pool is very offputting since the pool is about 8 feet in total and 3 feet deep and the picture of the Roosevelt hotel is pointless because it’s not the same area.

  • Mandy’s space is bright, clean and inviting. She is a fabulous host and replied quickly with all info you’d need - she thought of everything! We had a very comfortable stay and would stay here again for a future trip!

Very easy to communicate with and he has the whole thing down to a T. Will def come back and stay here again!

  • Matthew and Katherine's uptown studio was the perfect place to stay for a quick trip to NOLA. The apartment was spacious and clean, and the hosts provided thoughtful amenities including some local beers and chips. They also provided an abundance of information about the city itself, including guide books and their own personal recommendations. The location was ideal as well and we were able to explore many different areas of the city during our trip. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend Matthew & Katherine's studio.

    Sarah2019-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Matt for letting us stay in your beautiful studio! It was clear that there was a lot of thought and care put into setting it up and my sister and I felt very welcome. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

  • This apartment was amazing! Much bigger than it looked in the photos online. I had booked it for a bachelorette party with 6 other girls and it was perfect for the occasion! The kitchen was large enough for us to cook for everyone and had enough utensils that we weren't needing anything. We loved the master bedroom and the little sitting area and balcony attached. It was also in the perfect location; just three blocks from Bourbon, about a five minute walk, and super close to shops and restaurants. The host was also very responsive to messages. We loved our stay!

    Taylor2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and spacious place to stay.

    Samantha2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great condo that slept 6 adults comfortably. Bourbon street was a short walk and anything else we could've needed was near by.

    Nicholas2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were very pleased with the apartment! Beautifully set up with large open spaces, nice bathrooms with rain showers and a perfect location to visit New Orleans. We walked everywhere. Parking was a little challenging but if you are willing to pay for a lot it is fine.. we felt safe the whole time. Go to the Hilton's restaurant around there corner for 75cent oyster happy hour along with half priced drinks. Also, very easy arrival and departure with keyless code entry so no waiting to meet up with the host. We are very happy with our choice to stay in the Airbnb

    Marita2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, open space. Very comfortable. Close to everything, including a short walk to French Quarter.

    Christopher2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Plenty of space and located close to all NOLA has to offer

    Devon2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great location, extremely easy check-in. I would stay here again.

    Randy2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • A really solid place all in all. Short walk to the French Quarter/Bourbon Street. The perfect spot for our buddy's bachelor party. Brad, our host was accommodating and check in very easy. The pictures don't quite do justice. The condo was spacious, very clean and all of the mattresses were super comfy! The kitchen had nice appliances and all of the basic supplies to cook meals. To our surprise, the place was stocked with paper towels, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, hand soaps, toiletries and plenty of towels and toilet paper. I highly recommend this condo for a bachelor/bachelorette party or for any other occasion.

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire. Additional bedroom is available for groups traveling together or families traveling with children. Please discuss your group's needs with the host. New Orleans license number is 17STR-06526.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house just off the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iron, music player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. A second bedroom is available for groups, so the space can be made to accommodate 1-4 people. We welcome special requests and will make every effort to assist with needed recommendations. We can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your childen. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • We had such a lovely stay at Erin's place. The accommodations were wonderful and the room was beautiful and charming. Excellent location, we rode the streetcar downtown and it was seamless. Would definitely stay again next time we are in NOLA!

    Christie2016-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a sweet place- love the shotgun style with all the decorative elements at front of home! Very clean, nice touches and comfortable, uncluttered spaces. Erin was helpful with our questions as this was our first time in NOLA.

    Erica2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stay at Erin’s house was a good experience. The rooms were spacious and correspond to the photos. We will definitely repeat if we return to New Orleans

This lovely and historic cottage is located just steps from the French Quarter. Enjoy comfort and privacy in a classic New Orleans cottage. There are two bedrooms, and one bath. The cottage is cable and wifi equipped.
This is a true New Orleans cottage, charming and comfortable.
We are on a gorgeous street, very close to the French Quarter.
  • If it wasn’t for the bed bugs it would’ve been a pleasant stay.

    Kendra2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine was great - quickly welcomed us and showed us everything we needed. The place was great - even with the open loft we all slept like rocks. Super clean as well. And while on initial arrive you might be a bit weary of the main road being nearby, it was perfectly cozy and the overall neighborhood was awesome. Great central location for getting around to all the various neighborhoods and sights, and tons of cute cafes and such nearby. Would definitely stay here again!

    Shirin2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. House was beautiful and location was great being only a few minutes from the bus stop. House was extremely clean upon arrival. Tastys coffee is 2 minutes down the street. Super cheap and great donuts and coffee to grab while your waiting for the bus. Overall a great time spent in new orleans.

    Katy2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Katherine's lovely cottage. It was most comfortable and nice and we appreciated her warm welcome and attentions :). We'd definitely come back there!

    Sylvie2015-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine's Place is beautiful and perfect for our group of 4 people. Katharine was able to accommodate to our needs for check-in early after our cruise.

    Huy2018-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is just like the pictures. Lots of light and very clean. Kathy was easy to get in touch with, and lives right next door. (She even blocked off the street parking in front of her door so we'd have a good place to put our rental car though there was enough street parking.) We never walked anywhere, as it didn't seem like a walking neighborhood, but it was a $7 uber ride to the French Quarter, and in the early mornings we could drive to City park (free, abundant parking), and even down Esplandade street and found street parking on the East side of the French Quarter to quickly grab binnets at Cafe Du Monde before we left the city. I would recommend staying here for the easy parking convenience, quiet at night, very clean apartment, with a great/strong shower and close proximity to the various areas of NOLA. Thanks, Kathy, for a great stay!

    Samantha2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is truly a charming cottage in a great location in NOLA. We loved the open, airy, well decorated space, and it's proximity to the French Quarter, City Park, and the cute shops and restaurants on Esplanade. We could walk to all the places just listed, as well as catch the city bus easily on Esplanade. Katharine was very hospitable and concerned with our overall experience in New Orleans, making sure that we had a great stay.

    John2015-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed in many Airbnbs and Kathy was by far one of the best hosts that we have had. She was warm and welcoming and gave us great suggestions of places to visit. We stayed for four days and packed them full of fun. One of the days we had pouring rain, but that didn't stop us, especially when Kathy came over with huge umbrellas for each one of us. The space was lovely, homey, and great to hang out in - super comfortable and filled with light. We made a great brunch in the kitchen and could have just stayed there all day, but it is in a great location, just down the street from some fabulous restaurants. Definitely would recommend this! Thank you Kathy!

Located on the grand promenade of historic Treme, fully equipped: coffeemaker, mini-refrigerator, microwave, SmartTV, wifi, 2 full beds, 1 futon sofa bed (4-Guest NO EXTRA CHARGE, and kitchenette. 1.4 miles, 25min/walk to the French Quarter, 5 min. Whole food market, Willie Maes Restaurant, and close to the system of transportation.
There is a room to park in front of 2636 Saint Ann, on the street next to the orange cone, (one side of a duplex house) or you could park cross street if there is not much traffic.
The neighborhood is safe, but still, it is in the process of recovering since hurricane Katrina. My house is near to Gas Station, Whole Food Market, Transportation- Canal St (Streetcar $1.25), City Park, NOMA, Louis Amstrong Park, Willie Mae's Restaurant, Dooky Chase Restaurant. In addition to getting Bourbon St, French Quarter, French Market, or Lake view, you can walk on the greenway (2 blocks from the house ) that will take 20-25 minutes from the house, or you can take an Uber.
  • The house is in a great location. For those who want to earn their new orleans food calories, walking to the quater is a breeze and just a mile away. The Zulu social club is right at the corner. The men who attend the club are friendly and will point you in the direction of good neighborhood eats. Willie Maes scotch house is on the same street 4 blocks up. This place is worth it for the person coming to town for culinary and real cultural experience.

  • Fernando's description of his place and the photos were accurate. The place was very clean and very convenient to downtown NOLA with a car. He provided parking right in front of his duplex and he was very responsive to any requests or queries. I would definitely stay here again.

    Lois2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place close to the Quarter! Communication was wonderful and he allowed us to store our luggage when we got off our cruise since we couldn't check-in until the afternoon. Uber/Lyft rides to the Quarter are less than $10 or you can walk there in less than 20 minutes. I was there with my friend (both female) and we felt safe walking to the Quarter in the day but took Ubers home at night. There was a little bit of street noise but it didn't last long or keep me awake--and it was a weekend in NOLA. The place is nice, beds are comfortable, and it was well-stocked with everything we needed. Highly reccommend!

    Laura2019-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fernando was so accommodating. He allowed us to drop off our luggage early as we arrived before check in and then also allowed us to check in early that day. He also responds to text any time of the day should you have a question.

One of a kind house overlooking Bourbon Street and Orleans Avenue, across from the Bourbon Orleans Hotel and Tropical Isle. This overlooks Bourbon Street in the exact center intersection of the French Quarter. We are one of the few short-term rentals legally licensed by the City of New Orleans to operate in the French Quarter.
This is an upstairs unit with a corner Bourbon Street balcony in the middle of one of the most iconic locations in the city.
This is a unique place and you will be living in the very center of the French Quarter. I love our neighborhood because of its uniqueness, diversity, and liveliness. It is so rich with history and recognizable around the world as " New Orleans". Whether it's 3 o'clock in afternoon or 3 o'clock in the morning, there is always something going on in the French Quarter.
  • Andres place is right on Bourbon in a lively location! We had a great time and loved being in the middle of it all. Apartment was clean and the beds were super comfy! Thanks to Andres!

    Jason2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome! The ear plugs made the outside noise bearable to sleep through, and I am very thankful for them. We were able to run up and down bourbon street most of the night and I always felt safe going to the apartment and I loved how close it is to everything! I only wish there were blinds to pull over the front windows to block some light but then again I chose to stay on Bourbon street and I knew it would be a party all night outside! I’m very thankful for an amazing Bourbon Street experience complete with private balcony. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed! Thanks again

  • This place was bigger then expected, myself and 5 others were not cramped and the the futon was super comfortable to pass out on at 4 am. You cannot get a better location to have a great time in the French Quarter. If you’re looking to be right in the middle of chaos this is your spot!

A unique studio that is part of a historic double shotgun-style home just across from the New Orleans Fair Grounds Race Course, home of Jazz Fest! Enter the completely private suite through your own private side door to the one bedroom studio, complete with galley kitchen and bathroom. Built early 1900s, our home has been completely renovated. Period touches including heart of pine floors, marble, and coal-burning fireplace are complemented by the modern kitchen and bath. LICENSE #19STR-07624
The entire suite is yours to enjoy. You immediately enter into the galley kitchen which is fully equipped should you choose to cook-up your own meals, which then opens up to the studio room with queen bed, coffee bar, table for two, Smart TV, non-operating fireplace, and a lovely transom that lets in the flickering light of the gas lantern just outside your door. The full bath features a beautifully tiled shower, modern glass vanity, and all the amenities you will need during your stay.
Located just across the street from the racetrack and home to the world-famous JazzFest at the end of April and beginning of May each year! We’re also closely located near City Park, The Bayou, and many Mid-City attractions while still only a short distance by bike or ride to the French Quarter, Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and Smoothie King Center.
  • Wow, talk about a great airbnb experience!  We came to Jazz fest and booked several airbnb's around town and liked this one the best. We liked staying at Cody and Leo's so much the first time that we decided to cancel another reservation to circle around and stay there again.  The space is not large but feels plenty big with incredibly smart design ideas.  We had everything we needed and everything was nice and clean.  The kitchen has a full size refrigerator and stove, the ceilings are tall and open, and our private entrance made coming and going at all hours a breeze.  The wood floors and molding, marble countertops, shower with tiles to the ceiling and marble bathroom floor were a very nice touch! :D Both times we stayed, Cody and Leo offered us a place to store our luggage before and after our check-in/check-out times which was not only super helpful but not offered by any other airbnb I've ever stayed at.  They made sure we had an easy parking situation even at the height of Jazz fest when the traffic is heavy.  If ALL of that wasn't enough, when we arrived for our second stay, we found a note and a bottle of Cody and Leo's wedding champagne celebrating that we were their first return guests ever!  We really can't say enough great things about our stay. We highly recommend staying here and plan to stay here again as soon as we can get back to The Big Easy! Cheers!

  • This place is perfect for anybody traveling alone or with a friend. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in years. Very modern and stylish inside. I couldn’t think of any complaints even if I tried. Great location with cheap Ubers around town!

  • Cody and Leo were kind, welcoming and created a very welcoming atmosphere for us to stay in. It is very clean, they have many amenities available, and were very communicative with any questions. I would 100% recommend them to anyone wanting to stay in New Orleans!

  • Place was clean , great location . No complaints!

    Charles2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Their space is immaculate and filled with thoughtful touches! Such a great location - slightly off the beaten path, but in the cutest neighborhood (walkable to delicious restaurants and fun spots) and close enough to get to the French Quarter with a quick Lyft ride. Cody was incredibly responsive, and checkin/checkout were a breeze. We would absolutely stay here again!

    Natalie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • LOVED!! Will definitely be looking to stay a loyal customer. Stay was so comfortable and considerate we consider them like family! Plan or rebooking. Maybe even for Essence! And definitely for Mardi Gras next year! Cody and Leo are the best hosts and made our first experience with an AirBnB one to remember 😘

  • Amazing comfortable, very stylish space! Such thoughtful touches! You will not regret being Cody & Leo’s guest! They provide bikes to use around town and a great local guide! The space is so chic and the bathroom is amazing! All around great stay!

  • Donnell’s place is perfect. It’s really spacious, had everything that we needed and the bed was super comfortable. It’s a 10min Uber ride from the French quarter and is in a safe neighbourhood! I would definitely recommend staying here :)

  • Donnell’s place is one of a kind! From it’s cleanliness to it’s convenient location. Navigating throughout the city of New Orleans was a breeze even with a huge crowd coming for the festivities! The area was a quite and cozy.We look forward to booking again with Donnell! You don’t want to miss out! Added bonus the beds were super comfy!!!

  • This is a GREAT spot to vacay! My friends and I went for a quick girls trip and we felt like we were home. Not to mention, we weren’t too far from the festivities. Donnell nice, prompt, and very responsive. I WILL recommend this space to anyone who is in search of!

    Aundrea2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great comfy house that is close enough to all the local hot spots that driving or Ubering is a valid option. Donnell is a great and communicative host that really makes you feel at home.

    Jacob2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great and clean. It just lacked the basic necessities I normally see in most Airbnb’s. Didn’t have soap or conditioner in the bathroom (had a little bit on shampoo left). No oil to cook food. No extra sheets or pillowcase in the rooms. Otherwise, great place and easy to find!

  • A great stay. Quaint, but efficient and has everything you need. Near a plaza to pick up some foods and not very far from the French Quarter or Bourbon St. I enjoyed my stay.

  • Very nice and quaint place that is perfect just a weekend visit to New Orleans.

    Jordan2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Leonor's place would be fine for a one night stay, however our stay was for five nights so it didn't work for us. There is no storage for clothing at all. There is a small rack to hang things on, but it is on the same shelf as the tv so if you use it you cannot see the small tv. The tv remote had no backing so the batteries were constantly falling out. There was also dust on some of the appliance surfaces and remnants of pet hairs from previous guests on the throw rugs. The bed which according to a previous review had been broken has only been given a makeshift fix which made it extremely difficult to move away from the wall when making it in the morning. The most disappointing thing however was the broken back fence. I booked this place based on the advertised enclosed private space to park our vehicle for 5 days. Upon our arrival I emailed Leonor about the one half of the gate being entirely broken off. She assured me it would be fixed the next day. It was not fixed the entire time we were there. Would not stay here again; just too many things not right.

A renovated historic. home containing Located in the famous Treme neighborhood and 50 yards from Esplanade St. A city bike rental station is right on the corner of the block or take a 1/2 mile walk down Esplanade and you are in the French Quarter! 17STR-09951
This home dates back to the pre-civil war peperioand is Wonderfully restored Home containing 2 bedrooms 1 bath and living room and kitchen The space is located in the famous Treme neighborhood and 50 yards from Esplanade St. take a half mile stroll down Esplanade and you and in the French Quarter!
The neighborhood of Tremé is known for its original and creole-centered architecture and being the birth place of some of New Orleans-centric musical and visual art. Art and architecture aside, Tremé is the oldest subdivision in New Orleans at 204 years old. The neighborhood is also home to some iconic landmarks, including one of the oldest churches in the nation, the St. Augustine Catholic Church, and areas including Louis Armstrong Park and Congo Square.
  • Ben was a great host. We had good communication throughout, and the house was just as described. He provided us with all sorts of info about restaurants and bars and things to do. And he made sure to tell us to either uber or grab a cab when coming back to the house at night as it can be a little bit sketchy in this neighborhood...we had no problems and I felt safe at all times. Loved the house! It was more spacious than we anticipated. Wished we had stayed here longer

    Jess2017-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place us great if you want to have a healthy walk to the most appealing parts of bourbon street. My friend and I had a great stay and the walk home late felt good after bourbon street did their damage. Only 1 bathroom so getting 7 ppl ready every morning may be a challenge just for time purposes. Shower was nice and hot. Didn't really use the kitchen much other than to store some beers but it looked like a great place to prepare food if you want a few meals that are more affordable. Had a great time and wild stay here again

    Nathan2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was a great host! He greeted us as soon as we arrived and provided a helpful orientation of the house. We felt right at home and really enjoyed the place. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had all basic amenities; we even threw together a quick Thanksgiving dinner there. The only thing we missed was having a table large enough for all 5 of us to eat at. The kitchen is really only large enough for about 3. But we enjoyed our stay immensely and the house is in a great location. Not a bad walk into the French Quarter. We would stay here again!

    Amanda2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was helpful, the house was clean and spacious and we are definitely staying at Ben's place next time we are in NO!

    Bryanna2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ben's was a nice house for a few friends for a couple days. It was clean and convenient. We walked to and from great bars and restaurants with no problem.

    Ben2018-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ben welcomed us since the very first email and gave us great tips on how to enjoy New Orleans. We didn´t get to meet him but he always was responsive and a great host. The house will give you an authentic taste of a New Orleans historic house. It was clean and spacious and could easily accommodate 7 people. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready to use. It is a 10 minute walk to Louis Armstrong Park at the very edge of the French Quarter. It is however, close to the highway which could make the place somehow noisy to sleep. Parking was on the street but it was safe all the time. Good place to enjoy NOLA!

    Ricardo2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Most comfortable memory foam mattresses we have slept on. Close to the quarter, could easily walk there or get an inexpensive uber or lyft. I would recommend using the service returning home in the evening. House was cook ready all you need is a few groceries. Plenty of supplies on hand toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent. Our host was very pleasant, and answered any questions we had.

    Corey2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. He allowed us to drop off our bags before the check in time since our flight arrived early in the morning. He also had great recommendations of things to see and eat around the area. We were interested in renting bikes during our stay and Ben was able to round up four of them last minute. We didn’t end up renting the bikes because it was just too hot outside, but Ben’s price was far more affordable than renting them from a store downtown. The neighbourhood is well situated and within walking distance (or a short Uber ride) of Frenchman Street, Royal Street, and downtown. There is also a bus stop (the 91 I think) right across the street which we took to the garden district. The rooms are exactly as pictured on the listing and were clean and tidy with plenty of extra towels and linens.

  • Robert hosted my parents for my wedding weekend. He was very helpful the whole time keeping us in the loop on parking due to parades and road closures due to the demolition of the hard rock casino hotel. He also was so accommodating and understanding when we had a family mishap that caused us to check out late. Thanks for everything Robert!

  • Robert’s place is in an amazing location- you can walk practically anywhere. There are good places to eat just feet away, and Frenchman St., Bourbon St, and the French Quarter are an easy walk away. Robert was accommodating to our early check in needs and even got up with the sunrise to help us get in! The place is stocked with anything you may need while away with lots of extra touches to make your vacation enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again!

    Anna2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, very comfortable, open, airy, great location, check in was a breeze, everything A+++++. The only side note is there’s a lot of cats hanging on the porch and around the property, so if you’re allergic - heads up.

    Tomek2019-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This little space is a fabulous find. I could not believe how well-stocked Roberts airbnb space was. There were at least 15 types of tea, snacks, comfy bed and wonderful pillows. There must have been 15 large towels for us to use after a shower! The little garden out back was a treat to enjoy an evening glass of wine after a full day. The grocery store was super close and had great prepped meals and the streetcar was one block over. Starbucks is a block away. After a busy day exploring the French quarter we frequently walked home it was so close. And the Frenchmen Street sites for great music was just several blocks away. We couldn't believe how close it was. Robert was a wealth of information and very enjoyable to chat with. We highly recommend this fabulous spot for anyone looking for a reasonably priced local community vibe.

Our place is private and affordable. We are centrally located just minutes to 5-15 min drive to anywhere in the city. We are exactly 4.8 miles from Bourbon Street/FQ. Our space is a quaint 400 sq ft private guest suite. The extra high ceilings make the space feel more spacious. There is one queen size bed and sofa converts to a full bed also. We have a hand made counter area that adds character to the room and guest also have access to the deck/porch.
Our space was recently renovated. Our guests have access to a full bath with a shower. The sofa converts to a full bed. A mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot are available for our guests to use. There is a fenced back yard.
New Orleans is a small city, so most areas in New Orleans proper (Orleans parish) are only a 10 minute drive from downtown/French Quarters. Our neighborhood is a quiet and safe area that's literally a "stone throw" from all of the action. It is a great escape from the busy nightlife of downtown/French Quarter but it is only a 5-10 minute drive to the city's happening spots. For those with children, there's a nice neighborhood park down the street. City park and the walking trail along our beloved Bayou St. John that leads to the Fairgrounds are also walking distance...great for a morning run. We have some amazing locally owned eateries nearby that maintain the traditions of New Orleans cooking.
  • The house was a quick drive to any location down town. The hosts were very friendly and had advice on where to go visit. When we come back to visit, we will keep this house in mind.

Less than a half mile to beautiful city park, two & a half mile to historical French Quarter. Grocery store, Chinese restaurant, and other shopping options a few blocks away.
Quaint place, I try to keep it tidy as possible A shopping center down the street, easy 5-minute walk & a bus stop around the corner.
Built cira 1983, this quaint neighborhood is full of flavor, character, friendly neighbors, & easy access to many conveniences. Being right in-between the river, lake & near city park this location offers a great opportunity to explore an array of options of hidden jems often over looked by many who limit their selves to the usual tourist hots spots of the French Quarter, Bywater, or uptown area. Regarding safety, crime maps & statistics have shown this is area to has significantly less crime than the French Quarter ,Bywater, & Uptown areas. All except for a few occasional neighborhood holiday parties, this is one of the quietest neighborhood & I have never had any problems otherwise.
  • It was great for the price and only 10 minutes away from French Quarter by car!

We have ridiculously comfortable beds, free breakfast, blazing fast WiFi throughout for making friends back home jealous, and a bar downstairs for making new friends. We are steps from the WWII Museum, The Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the Contemporary Arts Center, and a dozen famous restaurants and bars. The French Quarter is less than one mile away. The St. Charles Ave Streetcar stops 100 feet from our front door.
We are a bunch of misfits and lovable trouble makers. Some of us have always called New Orleans home. Others came for a few days and never left. What we share in common is a mission to create a new kind of hostel in New Orleans. Every space is designed with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. We believe anyone that makes it to New Orleans in their lifetime is lucky and we're here help you make the most of that good fortune.

  • Dale is a great host and his appartment is really nice and comfortable.

    F.Javier2018-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • My first Airbnb experience was great! Dale was an amazing host and I thank you Dale for opening up your home to allow people to explore NOLA at such an affordable rate. Dale was kind and very considerate in making sure I was comfortable. As for his pets... his dog Rufus, at first sight you may get a feeling of uneasiness. Don't let his bark fool you. I assure you he is the sweetest! Now, his cat Chittling you barely notice her. I have to be honest when you first enter his home you may detect an oder like moister in the air... a bit stale like. But as I traveled and talked to the locals I began to understand and experience other areas throughout the city that same oder, which is due to the fact that the city is built on swamp land and it's below sea level. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it!

    Argashia2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Dale's place. The room was spacious and clean. It was also easy to get around by public transportation. I highly recommend this place!

  • Very nice place! Michael's place is a cute studio, and he went above and beyond to make it comfortable and welcoming. My husband and I had a lovely time during our stay. Definitely would recommend this place to other couples.

    Brittany2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was great! Communication was quick and the place was exactly as pictured! Overall good stay!

    Brandon2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! The room was cozy and comfortable, and Michael and Susan were both so nice and accommodating. Communication was also great because Michael was very quick when it came to messaging back and answering questions! Also, while we were only there for the night and had our plans set, he immediately provided info and things to do in NOLA, which great if this is your first time to the city!

    Melanie2019-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was good, safe place and access to everything, around the city....No complaints...

    Chris2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place was so comfy and cute. He responded quickly to all my massages and was super helpful. Wifi and Netflix was a great plus! I would absolutely stay again.

  • The house is lovely, clean, and the decor is tres chic.

    Barry2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Hollis' airbnb was the perfect place for my short weekend girls' trip. I wish we could've stayed longer. The house was very well kept and beautifully decorated. It was in the perfect location to everything we wanted to visit such as the french quarter and bourbon. There was also easy access to cheap transportation, with the bus stop being only a skip and a hop from the house. Hollis was a wonderful host and i really appreciated him for allowing me and my friend to chill at the house after our check out time because we decided to stay an extra day and there was a wait before we could check into our hotel. Hollis eventually felt like a family member, and i would definitely recommend his place to anyone planning a trip to New Orleans.

    Breanna2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is lovely. It is very well decorated, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We didn't get to meet Hollis, but he was helpful, and available over phone when we needed him.

  • Very clean!

    Irene2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean with a convenient location about a 9 min ride to the French Quarter in a pretty safe neighborhood. Save yourself some UBER money and buy a bus pass for a couple of days as the bus stop is right by the house

    Monica2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for a great place. This was my first time staying at an Airbnb and it exceeded my expectations. The French Quarter is only 15 minutes away and there is a bus stop right next to the house. Driving up, the neighborhood looked a little run down (not unsafe, just a quiet neighborhood). However, Hollis’s place felt so safe and nice. He had great security with cameras outside and a keypad lock so it felt extra secure. Nice modern house that you can tell has had time and thought put in the design. Hollis was super friendly and very real about New Orleans. Would definetly recommend this place.

  • The space was as advertised with beautiful little design touches, lots of natural light, and excellent location. It was also very clean. No major communication issues experienced, aside from not receiving details on how to check in. However, when I called Sonder, they gave me instructions verbally as well as sending to my email.

  • Wonderful location and classy place with a beautiful skylight. Loved the coffee, tea and little olive oils for use. Great little kitchen for cooking in! Bed linens were very comfortable. Check-in and out was a breeze. Would recommend and would stay there again!

    Megan2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! I was in town for a work conference at the convention center, and this place was just the right distance away. It was far enough away from the Bourbon street loudness but still quite walk-able to the convention. A great value!

    Mark2018-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, walkable to some amazing restaurants, but away from the main drag enough to be quiet. Amazing windows and adorable decor. We never wanted to leave!

    Maddie2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Super easy self check-in! Space was bright with skylight windows and very clean. Close walk to the french quarter. Overall great experience, thanks!

  • This apartment is just as wonderful in real life as it is in the photos. It's also very centrally located to many sights, shops and restaurants all within walking distance (if you don't mind 8-20 mins), or close to streetcar stops. One thing I really appreciated, was the keypad entry on the door. It eliminated the anxiety of potentially losing a key while out enjoying the nightlife. :) If you're looking for an ultra quiet spot, this may not be for you. While the building itself wasn't noisy (I didn't hear any of the neighboring apartments through the walls), keep in mind you're in a city, so you will hear some people on the streets or vehicles late at night. Just a heads up if you're a light sleeper. I did not take advantage of the full amenities provided in this apartment, aside from the coffee maker, fridge and hair dryer, but it was nice having the option to cook something or clean my clothes. If I were you, I would not hesitate in booking this place. I'd recommend to any friends planning to visit in the future.

  • I highly recommend Mac's place. The apartment is huge, clean and comfortable. And it's located in the heart of Uptown, one of my favorite neighborhoods in New Orleans. It's perfect whether you're a first-time tourist or someone who is very familiar with New Orleans. The apartment is just a few short blocks from the streetcar that takes you on a beautiful ride through the Garden District and to the edge of the French Quarter. But if you'd prefer to avoid tourists and just enjoy New Orleans like a local, you don't get much better than Mac's neighborhood. Plenty of cafes and nightlife within walking distance, and it's hard to find a more lovely location in all of the South. I will definitely stay here again.

    Christopher2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mac is a excellent host, and the cottage was very cute. I loved the neighborhood, walking distance to the tram and many places to eat nearby. If I get the chance to come back to NOLA i would definitely stay here again!

  • Mac’s house is great and in an amazing, beautiful location. Quick walk to the streetcar, wonderful restaurants within walking distance, and it’s located in such a scenic part of the city. Would definitely recommend!!

  • Visiting New Orleans for Mardi Gras and chose Macs place for the quiet safe neighborhood and the easy walk to the St Charles Fern streetcar stop. The room was great and just as described! Highlights are the super comfy memory foam mattress and excellent water pressure from the shower head. Would definitely stay here again, thanks Mac!

    Dale2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, lovely house and thoughtful accommodations. Not far from Tulane and a lot of great college bars/restaurants.

    Sam2018-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location!! We could not have asked for a cuter neighborhood, very close to the streetcar and local restaurants. Explore all the area around the cottage for some hidden gems in this residential neighborhood. Check in was a breeze- Mac was very easy to communicate with and was able to let us check in 20-30 minutes early when we arrived earlier than anticipated. Walls are somewhat thin, so if you are a light sleeper you might hear some noises from next door or the back of the apartment. Overall it was a great stay!

Staying here I was able to get not just a place to crash but a wonderful host with plenty of tips to share about New Orleans. Room was clean, well decorated, and stocked with snacks. A hidden gem!

  • This place is so cute! We stayed here for two nights and had a blast. Genene gave us tons of suggestions for places to check out and quickly responded whenever we had any questions. She also provides snacks, coffee, and extra toiletries. If we ever end up in New Orleans again, we’ll be staying here.

  • What a fantastic AirBNB experience. Anything you would expect, plus so much more, seemed to be available. In addition to having everything that I needed, the host was available instantly when I had an accident and needed assistance. They immediately provided me with essential items that I needed but would never expect to have access to while staying at an AirBNB. Could not recommend this host & location enough. I will definitely seek this out the next time I return to New Orleans.

    Roy2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AWESOME. For the price I expected a lot less. The small touches like snacks and a toothbrush really set this place above and beyond others. I would not hesitate in staying again... that’s if it’s not already booked!

  • Great space and hosts! I was feeling unwell one of the days in NOLA and Genene stepped up to help me. Very generous and wonderful hosts! The airbnb is about a 15 minute lyft/uber ride from the French Quarter. It's a cozy space. Clean, well kept and since we went in July, we were thankful for air conditioning. Definitely recommend for folks if you are coming to NOLA.

My downstairs home is walking distance to Jazz and Voo doo Fest, 4 blocks from the public street car system (5 mins from downtown, 3$ day passes), and a 2$ direct bus trip from the airport (30-50 mins). This 9'x14.5' private bedroom has a queen size bed and private closet. This Bedroom also has a personal lock if you so chose. There will be a maid service once a week to keep things clean, but sheets and towels are changed between guests.
My spare bedroom of my 2bd1b is perfect for a business traveler or a couple not looking to pay a fortune for a trip to New Orleans. It is 4 blocks from the street car and I am centrally located in a quite neighborhood (mid-city). I am also located on the bus route from the airport. 2$ direct route.
Neighborhood is safe with many bars and restaurants that are within walking distance. Recommendations are in the resource binder.
  • Eric's Place is truly a gem in the beautiful city of New Orleans. I was able to book extremely quickly last minute for an interview I had in New Orleans. The room was exactly as expected and there was nice mardi gras decorations as well. He was very prompt with response and made my stay 10x better. He is also extremely smart guy, he is currently working on his 2nd Doctorate degree and had a wealth of knowledge about everything. His knowledge also extended to the city of New Orleans and he gave me great tips for getting around the city. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!

    Randy2018-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Eric is a really good host, he makes sure that you are fine and his communication was great!

    Thea2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, comfortable place close to a streetcar that goes straight to French Quarter. Eric made the check-in process very simple, and offered great hospitality with thoughtful breakfast food and interesting conversations about the city.

    Vicky2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Eric hosted my parents during their trip to New Orleans. He was very attentive. Also the accommodation was great. There was breakfast, authentic BnB. A very good choice that I would definitely recommend.

We love this neighborhood! It is right in the middle of city along the river, so a more low traffic spot, but with easy access to the more commercial and entertainment districts. It has its own lovely set of bars, coffee shops, and wonderful restaurants very close by though.
  • A delightful location, apartment, and host.

    Jonathan2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This house was amazing! Lindsey was a wonderful hostess and made the entire trip a breeze. The pre-trip communication was great, and the check in and check out were very easy. The apartment was exactly as pictured on the website, with the addition of cool, quiet, and highly efficient central a/c, which we very much appreciated. The kitchen was fully stocked with a small fridge, full stove/oven, and microwave. The fridge was more than adequate for our needs (leftovers only), but might be a little small if someone wanted to do some serious cooking. Otherwise, the kitchen was perfect. The bedroom had the most comfortable bed I've probably ever used in a hotel or bnb - absolutely amazing. The bedroom and living area were completely clean and well-arranged, with a comfortable seating area and plenty of places to hang out. The only thing lacking was a place to store our clothes - maybe a small dresser or empty shelving unit would have helped? That was a very minor issue though. The neighborhood is extremely convenient: within close walking distance of the streetcar, WWII museum, cafes, and restaurants. We didn't need a car at all, and even discovered the Magazine Street bus took us practically to our front door. Very convenient! I felt safe in the neighborhood, but my husband and I walked to a pizza restaurant one night and got into kind of a weird/sketchy area under the freeway overpass. I think it's pretty common in New Orleans to be within a few blocks of a less-than-ideal neighborhood, so I wouldn't want it to deter anyone from staying here. But if you plan to walk around at night, ask Lindsey the best places to go, or if there's anywhere she would stay away from. That said, I stayed here alone for a day until my husband arrived, and I felt completely safe inside the apartment and walking around by myself during the day, and I'm a small female who tends to be super cautious. Overall, this experience was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again. Ask Lindsey for a house tour - it's amazing.

    Maureen2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay with a wonderful host.

    Chad2017-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lindsey's place was great. It is even more charming than the pictures suggest. The location was ideal for us as it was close to a bus line and streetcar in an already walkable neighborhood. She provided great recommendations and even had toiletries available in case we forgot something like sunscreen! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in a cool neighborhood. There was some typical city noise especially in the morning so if quiet is what you're after you may want to look elsewhere.

    Erin2015-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was truly one of the best AIRBNB experiences I have ever had! Lindsey was extremely helpful and very flexible in working with me to secure this location. The place itself if a total GEM in the lower Garden District of New Orleans. It came exactly as advertised and it was the perfect remedy for my usual antiseptic French Quarter chain hotel experience. Super quaint, minimalist features but with everything you need in the kitchen to cook a huge meal. They really were very thoughtful in the layout of this spot. It's a bit on the rustic side with amazing bare beamed ceilings and hardwood floors, exposed brick peaking through the plaster shabby chić paint..(super lovely) nice ceiling fan for those humid nights and air-conditioner in perfect working order. (Nice big Tub too!) It has everything you could want for a perfect stay in New Orleans in that specific area. French Quarter is just a short cab ride away or you can take a nice lovely walk as well. I say hop on the St. Charles Street car that is nearby and take it down to the Magazine street shopping district which is not far. :-). All in all you have lovely hosts, an interesting location and a super comfortable place to stay!

    Christopher2015-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a spacious, light, interesting apartment, in an old building, still being refurbished. It is decorated stylishly and creatively. The bedroom is enormous, with a comfortable king size bed, sitting area, fireplace and large windows, attractively draped. High ceilings and partially exposed brick are interesting. Bathroom has an old fashioned tub , with shower, and a separate sink area outside the bathroom. There is a lovely old style kitchen with a large wooden table, antique sink and cleverly concealed fridge and cookware within antique re-purposed cabinets . There is a large modern stove although it is hard not to indulge in the tempting restaurants of NOLA, such as nearby Peche. Details such as good organic soaps and large towels, a guide to the area restaurants and attentive responsiveness made Lindsey an excellent host. At first one is somewhat taken aback by the narrow vintage brick house, the last in the Lower Garden district, and attached to a warehouse. The area has character and sports a terrific coffee shop across the way, beer and other restaurants closeby. Don't miss funky Surrey's for breakfast or lunch. An easy stroll takes you past interesting N.O style houses and little shops and restaurants on Magazine Street. You can easily keep walking to the Upper Garden district with its elegant houses. If you walk in the opposite direction, you pass under the highway, and immediately come to the magnificent WWII museum which you should not miss! This area could easily be misconstrued as industrial, but the buildings are converting to upscale apartments. Not far is the warehouse district with its little galleries. A thirty minute walk brings you to the French Quarter. It is a convenient and ,interesting location. Not

  • We had a wonderful time in New Orleans and Lindsey's apartment was just what we needed. The neighborhood was perfect as a launching point for the convention i was attending as well as our travels around the city including Audobon park, the arts district, and the french quarter. The apartment was just as described.

  • I just want to say you were an amazing host with an inspiring place. The check in was smooth and welcoming. The walls and the ceiling were even more beautiful than the pictures. I enjoyed my stay and it makes me want to move back home. Thank you.

  • This place is amazing. There were bird sounds that played downstairs and really added such a homey feel. Host was very kind and gracious. Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting New Orleans.

  • I’m sure it is fine if you are flying into NOLA and don’t have to worry about a vehicle. We did not feel safe with leaving our car in the neighborhood. I’m sure Gwen is awesome and her house is beautiful, but we left and got a hotel.

    Nicholas2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ms. Gwendolyn’s place was 100% N’Awlins. The style of the house and the atmosphere. Yes this is located in a not so great neighborhood, but no one bothered and she has plenty of security features. The only downfall was the tub with the hand held shower head. We did read previous reviews and were initially ok with, until the temperature dropped to the mid 40s. Oh and there is no door in the bathroom. With that being said I still had a great time and felt comfortable here.

    Katherine2018-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Granny's Holistic House was so great to stay in. Her home is so unique and beautiful. We had a private balcony and felt very cozy. Would definitely stay here again.

    Taylor2018-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • looks nice on the pictures but not in real. there was water on the floor of the bedroom and mold on the wall in the corner. the bathtub was dirty. position of the house is ok - near of popular places

    Anna2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cool home, slightly sketchy area. No door on bathroom, so you really need to like your roommate. No ac control in room so it was a little too warm. Otherwise cool place.

    Edie2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Not as close to the French quarter it is a bit of a walk. The baths are cold because there is no door to the restroom. It's a free hand shower head. It had no curtain and the jacuzzi tub didnt work. The tub had pink mold and rust. The home is nice and really neat architecture. I did like the security key pad lock. But as far as the restroom. The stay was nice. We ate out so we didnt use the kitchen.

    Christina2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Expect cold and dirty bath tub with no door for the bathroom. Very scary area as well.

Semi-private room* in a cute and cozy shotgun house in the Marigny. 15 minute walk to the French Quarter, 12 minutes to Frenchmen St., 2 minutes to the Bywater. Located around the corner from a few restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and grocery store. *Note, this room is yours and yours alone, but we have to walk through it to get to other rooms.
The house is a classic shotgun, a very common style of architecture for homes here in New Orleans. Each room is arranged one behind the other. You will be walking through our art studio and bedroom to get to your room, and while you'll have your room to yourself, we will have to walk past your room to access the kitchen, backyard, and bathroom. Both doorways have doors which you can close for more privacy. Please look through our photos to see the "blueprints" of our house, this will give you an idea to how it's laid out. Your room is the third room in the house. It comes furnished with a built in bed, curtain for privacy, XL twin mattress, reading lamp, a chair, large mirror, clean sheets, fresh blankets, two pillows, a towel, and a white noise machine to cancel out house noises. The room accommodates one comfortably.
Our location is probably our greatest feature. Our house is centrally located in the Marigny. Frenchmen St. jazz and music clubs are only six blocks away, the French Quarter is a ten minute, nine-block walk away in one direction, and the Bywater (neighborhood) is just over the train tracks, two blocks in the other direction. We are one block from Mardi Gras Zone, a 24 hour organic grocery store (now with an alcohol license!), and three blocks from Hank's, a 24 hour convenience store (where you can stock up on alcohol and fried chicken). Flora's Coffee shop is two blocks away. There are eight bars (ranging from fancy cocktail bars to dive bars) within a three block radius.
  • Mikey who is currently house sitting was an amazing host. Learned everything I wanted to know about New Orleans and how this great city operates. Phenomenal advice on food music and the city itself. The neighborhood is close to everything and Mikey completely went out of his way to make me feel like I was home.

    Mitchel2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Katie house was great. She accepted my request after I got stranded by anther airbnb host, which was super of her. It was super clean and she provided everything I needed for the weekend. She has great information on everything - food, festivals, bars. It pays to stay with a local! I would highly recommend her place to others!

    Huy2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • good safe location close to the French quarter, two cute dogs and Mikey was really great - had a drink with him and his friends on the last night after a music event. bed was comfortable and good privacy.

  • Katie and Matthijs were both available when I checked in. They followed up with me prior to checking to verify my arrival. Both were very nice and welcoming. Although I didn't need anything from them, they were available if needed. Great hosts that can accommodate all types of people.

    Nick2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • I rank Katy and Matthjis' place as my favorite air bnb experience of all time. The house was comfortable and quaint, I saved money, and the Marigny is such a fun neighborhood. It's a great deal in the best neighborhood in NOLA.

    Leilah2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Matthijs were gracious hosts and provided great local knowledge to guide my itinerary. I felt comfortable sharing their home during my visit. The neighborhood is great with amazing New Orleans architecture and is walking distance to the French Quarter. I recommend this spot to anyone who wants a true Marigny neighborhood New Orleans experience.

My place is close to six block from French Quarter, three blocks from Louis Armstrong Park, lots of restaurants and live entertainment. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed and the coziness.
  • Quick one night stay. Filled purpose just fine, with a quirky eclectic feel

  • Ms Gwen's house is a sight to be seen! Lovingly decorated, very unique and inspirational. Our room (and bed) was small, but we managed. It was more than worth it for the downstairs living room area alone. Ms Gwen's instructions made it very easy to find and get into our room, which was well-equipped with fresh linens and towels. Good wifi. It's a nice area to walk around, about 10 minutes walking distance from the streetcar and the French Quarter. Several small, cozy cafes about three blocks away.

    Marleen2018-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful location, walking distance from French Quarter, easy to find.

    Nicole2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen is a wonderful person and her house is amazing. So many awesome artifacts in a gorgeous space. A couple cool coffee shops within walking distance and a pretty quick walk to the French Quarter. 10/10 would recommend.

  • Gwendolyn is a lovely lady. Her house is very close (6 blocks) to the French quarter. Get an Uber after dark. The downstairs did smell like smoke, but this wasn't overwhelming.

    Antonieta2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen was the sweetest and check-in was very easy. The room was small which was perfect for me and my boyfriend. The place is very close to the French Quarter so it was not a long walk to enjoy the Bourbon St festivities. All in all a great place.

    Olivia2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Gwendolyn's house is pure New Orleans magic! It is a truly beautiful place, and Gwen is a sweet and lovely woman who made us feel very welcome. She even had champagne waiting for us in the room when we checked in!

  • Very cute, clean place. Some great spots within walking distance and an easy spot to pick up the bus to get around. The neighborhood isn’t posh but it’s quiet and a cool spot if you’re looking for an off the beat and path spot for your stay.

    Emma2019-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is definitely transitional but I didn't feel unsafe at all. The space is large and airy; no microwave or TV but a fully stocked kitchen otherwise. When we arrived, there were no towels--but I contacted the host right away and she brought over a basket of fresh linens the next day. She was very helpful and communicative. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Loved Jo and Tyler’s place, check in was super easy and the apartment has a great location - not too far but far enough to get away from the noise of the Quarter. We were able to walk to the Quarter each morning and took a Lyft back for about $10.

    Emily2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay here! It was within walking distance to the places I wanted to go to, and easy to get around. This was my first time using Airbnb and I'm so happy it was such a great experience! My flight came in earlier than check-in but Jo+Tyler didn't mind me dropping my bags off and checking in earlier. Their place was nice and clean and had everything we needed, well, I would have liked if there was a microwave (using the oven/stove to reheat meals took foreeevvveerrr), I guess I assumed it was a part of kitchen amenities when I first booked the space. Regardless, the place was so nice that it didn't really bother me and I quickly forgot that minor inconvenience, the food is so good in NOLA I barely had leftovers anyways! Before booking this place I read some reviews that claimed the neighborhood was a bit "sketchy" (for lack of a better word). I only stayed 4 days, but to me it was fine. It was a clean area and the people around me were nice whenever I walked by! Seriously, the neighborhood is fine and I walked all over so I saw a lot of it. I didn't walk at night, but I wouldn't walk alone at night anywhere! Plus, uber/lift wasn't expensive and if you have someone to split it with, will be even cheaper! I loved my stay here and would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a fun get-away in NOLA for a few days. I'm so happy I booked it!

    Damara2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Jo and Tyler's while in town for a friend's crawfish boil in mid-city. It was a perfect location and an easy starting point to get out to any of the city's different neighborhoods. Spacious and bright and a very comfortable space. I hope to make it back sometime.

Our biggest bedroom features a beautiful antique cypress Queen size bed and lots of plush pillows for cuddling. A book lover's dream, with a 60" TV, mini fridge, large private marble bathroom and private balcony.
Located in the heart of the Garden District, the Parks-Bowman Mansion is a classic example of the good life in New Orleans. Shaded by palm trees and a live oak, the deep porches on all three levels tempt you to rest and relax. The soaring center hall leads visitors to a carved cypress staircase ascending to the very top of the house, lit by stained-glass windows and massive chandeliers. There’s a music room, a formal dining room, a “ladies parlor,” and a fully appointed kitchen where you can enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee in the morning. Outside, a lovely garden surrounds a back porch for lounging and a full size lap-pool. There are three rooms available. This listing is for the Library. Please look for our other listings: the Red Room and the Haunted Bedroom. The Library features a Queen size antique cypress bed and a private shower with travertine marble and hand-held spray. The second floor porch with seating is right outside. The Library has its own wide-screen TV and all rooms have internet access and mini fridges. The Library is close to the Red Room and makes a great double-booking. Our dog, Boggs, (RIP Moxie and Loebie) looks forward to greeting you at the front gate, and while you may not see our two cats (they mostly stay in our portion of the house) sometimes they sneak out for a visit. Our house is furnished with our extensive art collection, which we’ve acquired in over thirty-five years of travel. Oh, and a little bit about us: Adrienne Parks-Bowman is a novelist and screen-writer, and Bill Bowman is a documentary film-maker, music producer, and web designer. We can’t wait to share our house with you, and introduce you to the city we know and love so well. We’re right near Lafayette Cemetery, Commander’s Palace, the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line, and the shopping and dining pleasures of Magazine Street. There’s plenty of secure parking on our quiet street, and if you come for Mardi Gras, you’ll be just steps away from the parades! Come visit us and make us your home-away-from-home in New Orleans!
The Garden District feels like a small town, located in the very middle of New Orleans. You're close to the French Quarter, the Museum District, and the Bywater, as well as Audubon Park, the Zoo, City Park, and highways, if you want to take a jaunt to the countryside for plantation or swamp tours. The Garden District itself is justly famous for its stately mansions, lush landscaping, and Lafayette Cemetery (open for tours), and Magazine Street and its restaurants and shops is only two blocks away!
  • This place is perfect! The hosts could not be more welcoming. The house is like a movie set — absolutely amazing.

    Rye2018-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect to be amazed. Adrienne and her husband Bill are the consummate hosts. They know all the cool places to see, to eat, you name it, they know it. The mansion is located quite close to Magazine Street in the beautiful Garden District FILLED with the best restaurants. A quick Uber ride brings you wherever you want to go for between $6 and $10 a ride or you can talk four blocks and take a streetcar. AWESOME stay.

    Jane2017-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the Library at the Parks-Bowman Mansion was fabulous. My wife and I both love architecture, history and design. The Mansion with its tall ceilings, large rooms, imposing staircase and eclectic furnishings provided a great sense of New Orleans, along with the time we spent strolling around the neighborhood surveying the other impressive and numerous “Garden District” Mansions. The location is very convenient; a short walk to the “desirous” streetcars on St Charles Ave or great eating, shopping and buses on Magazine St. We did not need the use of a car. We walked, took the streetcar, bus, cab and Uber. We bought one day Jazzy Passes online before we arrived (RTA – NOLA Regional Transit Authority), which was as much about making public transit easy as it was cheaper. Make sure you try the Char-Grilled Oysters when you go out to eat. Our hosts were wonderful; we enjoyed their hospitality, our conversations and their two dogs. They communicated very well, made us feel very welcomed from the first and were very accommodating with fresh ice and advice. Thanks again. A caution if you are looking for the perfectly homogenized experience, or are not adventurous or have any of the following sensitizes or phobias I suggest looking elsewhere. -Allergic to Cats or Dogs -Amathophobia -Ataxophobia -Hyperosmia -Phasmophobia However, as for me, I will be staying here again the next time I am in New Orleans.

    Bill2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Although I've stayed in this Garden District gem countless times, I've never stayed in this room before. The library has a highly comfortable pull out bed that easily slept my fiancé and I. The memory foam topper was a dream to sleep on. I have to say I think this room has the best bathroom of any of the available rooms with a tiled shower that fits two people and has two concurrently running shower heads. Bill and Adrienne were darling hosts and usual and provided their Mardi Gras guests with king cakes a plenty and Adrienne even BBQ'd us a slew of ribs. Yet another great experience! Thank you both so much.

    Nicholas2014-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Adrienne was very responsive to questions before we arrived, and very friendly and welcoming, even though our flight got us in to NOLA around 10pm! The house is very conveniently located in the garden district, and was a 3 minute walk from Magazine street shops/bars/restaurants, easy trip by car or bus over to the French Quarter. We stayed in the Library Room and enjoyed the private balcony - room was gorgeous as pictured. We came down in July and so made good use of the pool each day we were there.

    Erin2015-07-11T00:00:00Z

Come be a guest in my lovely two-room suite, located in my historic Marigny cottage, three blocks from Frenchmen Street and a 15 minute walk to Jackson Square in the French Quarter! Please read all sections of listing prior to booking.
Two rooms, with an arch in between, in my Marigny home: a bedroom with a Queen sized bed, and a sitting area with a daybed set up as a couch, but can sleep a third person (twin mattress. ) The space features hand-stencilled walls and is furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage furniture, art and books...and a vintage baby grand piano! There is a small chest of drawers and an Art Nouveau wardrobe in which to store your clothing and other items. Amenities include fast wireless internet and a new 24" television with a Roku and cable. There is a latch to lock yourself in from the rest of the house. I am sorry, but there is no kitchen use with the rental of this suite. However, in your suite there is a mini fridge, a coffeemaker and an electric kettle along with an assortment of coffee, tea, sugar, etc. and a some dishes, glasses and flatware. There is a 5-gallon spring water dispenser as well as ice in the nearby dining room, so drink up! The bathroom is 'European Style', meaning it is shared with the rest of the house, which is myself and whomever is staying in the tiny room in the back of the house ( limited to one person.) I have yet to have issues with us all sharing a bathroom; I am invisible, and it's rare you will run into the other guest. It is a short walk through two rooms to the bathroom, which is fitted with a claw-foot tub and a rain shower head. I sanitize the bathroom daily, and there are plenty of towels and toiletries also. There is a latch on the door to lock yourself in. I am extremely scrupulous when it comes to linens; all sheets and towels are white and are bleached and put through the sanitizing cycle of my washer in between guests.
Marigny is a wonderful, eclectic, artsy neighborhood and is the second oldest neighborhood in the city, the French Quarter being the oldest. My home is a 15 minute walk away from Jackson Square in the heart of the Quarter, and is three blocks from Frenchmen Street. Who Dat Cafe and Orange Couch are nearby coffee shops (two and three blocks away, respectively) and there are numerous dining and shopping choices nearby without even having to go to the Quarter, including a Co-Op grocery store and Walgreens.
  • Merry is hospitable and the place is stylish. I would definitely stay here again.

  • I really liked your room and house in general. It’s such a stylish and amazing place to stay in New Orleans for several days. House is very clean, cozy and host provided all the necessaries, but I was impressed the most by original interior’s style. It’s a 5 minute walk from french quarter. Merry is super sweet, friendly and positive girl. So I high recommend to stay there! Really cool place!

    Alena2018-08-07T00:00:00Z

  • Merry was a phenomenal host. She was so friendly and very attentive. It is easy to see that Merry goes above and beyond to make sure her guests have a wonderful experience. She really cares about the details. Her great eye for design makes for a super stylish place to stay in a location of New Orleans that can't be beat! I would highly recommend Merry as a superhost and would stay in her super cute property again the next time I am in town.

  • This is a beautiful airbnb, perfect for a couple or friends to share. Nothing but great things to say about the host, Merry. WILL BE COMING BACK!

    Hannah2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Merry was a great host. She informed us of anything that is going on for the day with her schedule just in case we needed anything. She was only a text away. Our room was very clean and so was the rest of the house. The room was spacious and plenty of storage place. It was homey and yet still private. We felt safe, comfortable and rested. Merry is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us tips on great local restaurants. She is a great host and a great person. Wish we could stay in NOLA longer, and would definitely stay with Merry again in a heartbeat.

I love that it's down to earth, welcoming, historic architecture and a lot of space and green for being located in central New Orleans. It's a residential neighborhood, NOT located in the French Quarter! (see map on bottom of the listing!)
  • Everything was great. Mariam was very responsive and sweet. Would recommend to anyone!

    Robyn2015-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam was the most conscientious of hosts - from the booking, to our arrival, to the set-up at the apartment. The neighborhood is the Seventh Ward which is a fairly residential area that isn't so close to downtown to be touristy, but definitely close enough that it's accessible by bus. All in all, it made for a homey and laid back set up in a city that definitely should be experienced as such...

    Miki2014-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very neat apartment where we felt at home. We spent only one night (our last night in New Orleans) but would have definitely appreciated being able to stay at least 2 or 3 days there. Miriam was really nice, welcoming and discreet. She lives at the back of the house, in a separate apartment attached to this cool shotgun house, very typical in New Orleans. Miriam had left us the parking space right next to the apartment, which was quite helpful. The apartment is very spacious. We loved spending the end of the day on the suspended rocking chair on the patio. Treme is a neighbourhood quite interesting. Not far from the French Quarter and Marigny, but very different: you won't see much tourists here, which is nice. We were profoundly happy to get to discover this area from the inside. And it was close enough to the highway to get to the airport the next morning. We would definitely go back to this apartment. Thank you Miriam!

    Julie2013-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying here. Though I did not actually meet Miriam, all of our exchanges were very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was straightforward and easy, the space was exactly as described. Three of us stayed here and all had enough space to ourselves. We had everything we needed. The neighborhood is great. Quiet, but all of the neighbors we met were very friendly. We walked to most places, which took around 30-40 minutes. It's also a quick/cheap car ride to almost anywhere you need to go as well. Thanks again for everything, Miriam!

  • What a great place to stay and what a wonderful woman Miriam is! We travelled for weeks from hostel to motel and arriving at Miriam's place was a bless. Very homey and comfy, super-clean and everything around what you are looking for. Even cooked one night at home and ate in the garden, so relaxed. Really nice neighborhood (real Nola!), very central and Miriam is helpful in advising in traveling around and nice places to go to. I was here with my husband and found the peace and atmosphere in a hectic city we we're looking for. Definitely go back here one day :-)

  • Miriam had excellent communication throughout my trip! She was very nice and friendly and gave very good recommendations around the town considering it was my first time in New Orleans! The place is quaint and is in a quiet neighborhood. Her place was very welcoming! I would love to stay in her place again. I even asked if it was possible to check in early and she did everything she could so I can do that. She has excellent customer service.

  • Everything in the listing was spot on and great! The entire house is very nice and clean with all the amenities plus more. Also Miriam is a great host! The location was in a quiet neighborhood but still close to many great attractions and food. Couldn't ask for more!

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.
  • This was a dream come true. The photos of this place do not do it justice. It is an amazing gem in a perfect location. The host is available to speak with you and answer any questions you may have. The space has breathtaking high ceilings, giant gorgeous antique pocket doors, and is very clean and well appointed. The air conditioning works extremely well to keep you comfortable, and the neighborhood is exactly what you'd hope for (safe, friendly, and clean).

  • Beautiful place, newly renovated, filled with NOLA charm, close to all the cool areas of town. We would stay again. Host responded efficiently. All basic amenities provided. Thanks for the great stay!

  • This is a great, traditional New Orleans home to stay in, great for two people, maybe three; the sofa bed was your typical mattress, but the sofa itself was comfortable. It was nice to be in a well-known neighborhood that was mainly quiet; it was about a 15- 20 min walk to the French Quarter. Mark has a wonderful list of things to do and places to eat, and he was thoughtful enough to mark which places offer vegan and vegetarian food! We only heard the upstairs neighbors once, likely the morning they were checking out. Check in and communication throughout were very smooth. Thank you!

  • Marks Place was so clean we felt like we may have been the first people to walk in there. The space is tasteful furnished, giant rooms, beautiful neighbourhood. Must see the back street museum on the same block. Check in was easy. Highly recommend

  • Great location and friendly neighbors. We loved being a little bit removed from the madness and the house itself was stylish and full of personality.

  • Very clean and nicely decorated! The check-in/ out process was seamless. Convenient location- there is a streetcar station right across from this rental and it’s within walking distance of the French Quarter. Overnight valet parking in the building is $36 a night but there are way cheaper options in the area, as close as a block away. We really enjoyed our stay here!
