Places to stay in Minnesota
Tucked away on 2.5 acres in the middle of Duluth, this one-bedroom cottage has breath-taking panoramic views of Lake Superior, the Aerial Lift bridge and the St. Louis River. With the large property and surrounding trees, the home feels secluded but has wonderful access to hiking and biking trails, parks, beaches and all that downtown Duluth and Canal Park have to offer. License PL 17-099
This property includes two dwellings and guests are welcome to reserve both or just the main home. The main home is a single-level home with an open floor plan and everything you need for a fun and relaxing stay for up to four people. The bedroom has a full-size bed and the living room has a new, very comfortable queen-size sleeper sofa. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom and a washer/dryer. The second dwelling is available as an add-on for groups larger than four or for groups who would simply like a bit more space or privacy. This second cabin is a cute little A-frame about 75 yards away from the main home. It has a double bed in the loft and a double futon down below. The loft is accessed via ladder and so it not suitable for small children or guests with limited mobility. The A-frame is fully wired with electricity and has a ceiling fan, coffee pot, fridge, etc but no running water, just a composting toilet and a 2.5 gallon water dispenser. Adding the A-frame to your booking is an extra $100 a night. Please inquire at the time of booking if you would like to reserve both spaces. Please note that if you choose to only book the main home, we will NOT allow another group to book the A-frame during your stay. Ben, the property owner, may be in the A-frame at times to work on projects when it isn’t occupied by guests. We will notify you in advance if we need to be on the property or in the A-frame.
The unique neighborhood provides complete privacy, tucked in a small wooded area above scenic Skyline Parkway. Enjoy the seclusion while being just a few blocks from downtown and Canal Park!
  • The view alone is worth the trip! Highly recommended for a weekend up on the north shore.

  • A lovely little oasis at the top of the hill with great views and all you need for a cozy retreat. We hope to stay there again!

  • I loved this space. It was the perfect spot for my solo get away, but I could see it work equally well as a launching pad for all your Duluth and North Shore adventures. The views of Lake Superior were stunning. I don't think I'd ever tire of seeing the sun come up over the lake. The roads were slushy coming in and Emily and Ben quickly sent an alternative route to make the traveling to their Airbnb easier. Highly recommended.

    Perrin2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ben and Emily's place was perfect! We didn't want to leave! Such a cute space with everything we needed for a relaxing get away. The views are stunning. This was an amazing place to spend some time while exploring Duluth. Thanks for the coffee and thoughtful touches! Highly recommend.

    Jess2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cabin far exceeded our expectations for a girls get away trip in Duluth. Very close to the city but far enough away for peace and quiet. The space itself is lovely - well decorated, clean, and well stocked. We can’t wait to stay again in the summer months.

    Alexandria2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ben and Emily’s place is so perfect! It was quiet, clean, cozy, and had a spectacular view. They were very communicative and gave us simple instructions for check in and check out. I can’t think of a better place to spend a couple of days recharging in Duluth!

    Woody2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cottage and hope to be back soon! The view was beautiful and location couldn’t have been better. The cottage felt secluded but was only a 9 minute drive from downtown and Canal Park and only 5 minutes from a grocery store. The space was cozy and we loved having full use of the kitchen and a washer and dryer. The owners were also very responsive whenever we needed anything.

    Kelsey2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy! The view is as good as it looks in the pictures. Sunrise right over the lake. Lovely little gas fireplace. Nice amenities. And so close to town, while feeling tucked away on the hilltop. You’ll love this place.

  • We had a lovely time at Gretchen and Dan's pretty cabin! It's very compact but has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It was a true retreat from daily life and all of the stress associated with it.

    Joan2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Gretchen and Dan’s place was amazing! Their space was inviting and gave an at home feel that made us and our dogs feel comfortable. Thanks so much for hosting us and we hope to visit again in the future!

  • Gretchen and Dan’s cabin/guesthouse was the perfect weekend getaway from the city. Only about an hour away from Minneapolis, this place was full of thoughtful touches and had everything we needed to relax, cook and enjoy nature. Highly recommend their place!

    Carolyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a dream for a long weekend to get out of the cities! We took our two little golden doodles and everyone had a great time. It had everything we needed and then some. Since we had the dogs, we did not visit any of the local eateries (or breweries) but brought enough groceries to make our own meals. Lake Maria State park and Sherburn National Wildlife Refuge has great trails for the pups too. We even brought our yoga mats and the little living room space was a prefect place to practice. We can’t wait to come back in a different season!

Be a part of nature and stay at a house among the trees. A unique place to unwind or recharge, or a home base to explore the many activities of Lake Superior's north shore.
The ReTreet House was completed in the spring of 2019! It is a well insulated and heated two story house built among the many white cedar trees on 30 acres of woods. The first level is a very comfortable bedroom with a queen size bed and large window overlooking the surrounding woods. The second level features a tree top view of the white cedar forest with a peek of Lake Superior. There is a full size sleeper sofa, kitchenette area with microwave, fridge, toaster oven, coffee pot, tea pot and a counter height table and chairs. A t.v. with Roku is mounted in the corner and wi-fi high speed internet is provided. There is no indoor plumbing, but a cold and hot water dispenser is available. Also, just steps away from the dwelling is a cute, clean, heated outhouse for your comfort.
The thirty acres we live in is heavily wooded, quiet and very private. Neighbors are not visible from the ReTreet House dwelling.
  • The treehouse is picturesque and has everything a person could ask for for a nice getaway. It is beautiful and clean as well as cozy. It was the perfect balance of camping and homey.

    Carter2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to get away. Upscale camping, with a super cozy bed.

    Two Harbors, MN, United States

This third-floor studio apartment with a woodsy feel and loft has all the privacy you need for a Twin Cities get-away weekend. As it is only four blocks from the Blue Line Metro, it has all of the downtown/airport accessibility for business and easy transfers to the Green Line Metro that runs to St. Paul and the University of Minnesota. The studio has a bathroom and a kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, microwave (no stove). The studio space has two queen beds in different nooks.
Our space has two queen beds, a full bath, and a common space with a couch, sitting area and wood-burning stove, table and chairs, and a kitchenette. For breakfast, the Pow-Wow Cafe is right around the corner and the fabulous Maria's Cafe is right down the street. The space also has a fridge, sink, microwave, Keurig, hot pot, and panini maker (note: there is no stove/oven). In the summer, our home has AC units in the windows and a ceiling fan overhead. In the winter, the unit has forced air and a wood-burning stove. We are glad to provide a heating blanket to those who would like one. We have free parking on the street, but no reserved parking spots on the property. For the comfort of our guests, the queen mattresses have a 100% hypoallergenic, waterproof mattress protector covers.
There is plenty to do in the Minneapolis metro area, and our place is just .75 miles from downtown, including the Viking's Stadium, Gold Medal Park, and the Guthrie Theatre. We are 1.2 miles from the Minneapolis Convention Center and favorites such as Global Market and the Midtown Greenway. Lake Calhoun, Lake of the Isles, Lake Harriet, and Minnehaha Falls are just five miles away to the southwest and southeast of us. If you are coming to the cities for a gastronomic adventure, Hell's Kitchen, Matt's Bar (for the Juicy Lucy burger) or Fogo de Chao for a fancy dinner are just a short drive away. A note about our urban, ethnic neighborhood: we do live in the city center which means that our neighborhood is busy and very varied: our home is near bus lines, public spaces like parks, coffee shops, non-profit offices, other large old Victorian homes, government buildings, apartment complexes, health clinics, and the many different types of people traveling through the neighborhood on a daily basis. Urban city life is densely populated, so you will want to exercise city-smarts and common sense when traveling out late at night from our place. If that makes you uncomfortable, you might prefer to stay in one of the quieter neighborhoods outside the city center like Nokomis or Eden Prairie, White Bear, St. Louis Park, Plymouth, or Longfellow. We, however, love the energy of the city of Minneapolis. One of our favorite pluses of living in Minneapolis's city center in the Ventura Village neighborhood is the fact that we enjoy a huge diversity of neighbors from all parts of the world and with it the customs, the dress, the food, and vivacity that they all bring to Minneapolis.
  • Super unique, cozy, attic space with everything you need for a night’s stay! Scored major points with my wife for choosing this one :) Highly recommenced! We even found a 4 leaf clover pressed inside one of the books while staying on St. Patty’s Day! What are the odds?! Couldn’t have asked for a better night’s stay. Thank you Zach and Betsey!

  • The pictures do not do this place justice. We felt like we were in a cabin--not the middle of a busy city. The small touches were especially nice, such as a pour-over coffee machine and any bathroom necessities you might need. Would highly recommend!

This cozy cabin provides a perfect getaway and is a gem in all seasons, especially during the fall colors or a blowing winter storm. The ridge top location has spectacular views through the trees - with lake views after the leaves drop. The property also boasts a fantastic wood fired cedar sauna - perfect for rejuvenating.

Camping is an option with the wide outdoor space and screened in porch, email for details. Folks will need to bring: - Sleeping bags/blankets/pillows for beds - Drinking water. There is rain barrel water for washing, but not for drinking. If the cabin is left uncleaned, a $50 penalty will be charged from the damage deposit. Remember to pack out your garbage. Please be kind and leave some dry kindling inside for the next guests.
  • This was an amazing stay. My wife and I spent the weekend enjoying the beauty of this space. With the large windows it felt like outdoors was just another room. The sauna was fantastic and there was plenty of quality wood for heat. It was definitely an adventure getting there. Be prepared for a long and somewhat challenging walk with a sled full of gear if you come in the winter. We will definitely stay here again!

    Josh2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly secluded cabin in the woods, definitely worth the extreme hike up the hill dragging our supplies and food through the snow. We are already booking our next stay here for this summer and can’t wait to come back!

    Rebecca2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had an absolutely wonderful three nights up at the mokki. My only regret is not adding a few more nights. I actually met Stevie and Lonnie on my hike up to the hut. They were both so lovely, and had even started a fire in the stove to greet me. I loved the slow, simple pace of each day. With no connections to the outside world, I reconnected with all the pastimes I'd lost touch with. I spent my days cooking, shoveling snow, stocking wood, reading, writing, drawing, and just being in the moment. There is profound beauty and peace in this place! I would recommend 100x over.

    Maxwell2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time visiting Lonnie’s place during the winter. It’s always a great experience that’s worth the crazy uphill hike & blizzard/snowstorms. We love the silence, solitude, and sauna experiences!

**** A special note about COVID-19 — as a host, your health and safety is my number one priority. I am very conscientious about bleaching/sterilizing every load of laundry, and sanitizing every surface, light switch, door handle, etc. in the house between guest stays. I want to reassure you that as a host, I’m doing everything I can to make sure you will have peace of mind during your stay. As of now, Minneapolis is not a major hotspot for Coronavirus, but being vigilant is still really important as we all work together to slow its spread. I look forward to hosting you! **** Welcome! You’ve found the best Airbnb in town — it’s always my goal to make sure you’re comfortable and happy, and to give you info about all the best stuff this neighborhood has to offer (which is a lot). Enjoy the spacious, open layout, take advantage of the private backyard, and explore the neighborhood! You’ll have the entire spacious first floor of the building to yourself, which used to be a corner grocery store in the early 20th century and has since been lovingly remodeled. Built in 1902, the space is airy and open, with high ceilings and huge windows. It’s filled with original art, thoughtful touches, and modern comforts, yet retains its historic and unconventional character. Custom-made furniture and cool art makes for a stylish vibe beneath the original pressed tin ceiling, and a wall full of books will keep you well-read! The backyard is like an urban oasis — fully fenced in and private, with lush gardens, multiple decks, lounge space, and a fire pit. ————— CHECK-IN ————— Ultra-easy with a keypad lock on the front door. I send the code when you book! I do not need to be present when you check in. ————— BEDROOMS ————— There are two bedrooms in the unit -- a main bedroom with a queen-sized foam mattress that has a private entrance/exit to the backyard, and shares a hallway to the kitchen and bathroom. The sunny storefront space can also be a bedroom — there's a double Murphy bed hidden in the wall, complete with a comfortable Tuft & Needle memory foam mattress, and outlets for your devices. ————— BATHROOM ————— There is one bathroom, which is small but has everything you need: tub/shower, sink, toilet, fresh white towels and washcloths, a hairdryer, and complimentary shampoo/body wash. ————— KITCHEN ————— Fully stocked, open, and ready for you to whip up an award-winning meal. Sharp knives, all the utensils and dishware and cooking equipment, a full oven/range, a full size dishwasher, commercial steel sink and faucet, and concrete countertops. ————— LIVING/DINING ROOM ————— The large, open storefront space is a combined living and dining room, with plenty of space to hang out and watch TV on the large 55” flatscreen with soundbar (all streaming services available), or gather at the huge dining room table near the plant-filled front windows. It’s a beautiful and relaxing space that also photographs really well, in case you’re the Instagram type :) ————— BACKYARD ————— The backyard is a special spot. Fully fenced in, it feels super private and a world away — plenty of decks, lounge spots, garden beds, and a fire pit for you to enjoy on a chilly evening with friends. It’s also a great area for photo shoots — weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, or anything else!
I know this neighborhood inside and out, and will provide you with my ultra-awesome, comprehensive neighborhood guide when you book :) The takeaway: you're in the epicenter of the best food, drink, coffee, art, and culture in town, walkable to most of it. You are within walking distance of three of Minneapolis’ most award-winning restaurants: - Hai Hai (a 5 min walk) - Popol Vuh (10 min walk) - Young Joni (15 min walk) When you venture out, you will find yourself in the heart of the Northeast Arts District -- a safe, charming residential neighborhood that is within 1-2 miles of coffee shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and all manner of excellent restaurants, bars, and attractions, in addition to incredible local breweries, hundreds of artist studios, and more. Our street is a designated bikeway, among many others that cover the entire city. • We had an awesome two nights stay at this comfy and quiet retreat in NE Minneapolis. Pete’s place is close to tons of great food and drink. We arrived a little after 3pm and check in was super simple. The space was super clean and wonderfully curated. Great amenities if you want to just hang and relax within the space. Tons of books and games. Pete himself was super helpful with recommendations as to what to do within the city and neighborhood. I definitely recommend staying here!

New 2017 built Tiny House perfect for travelers. Close to light rail. Comes with original poetry. New finishes include W/D, full kitchen, 3/4 bath w/large shower, A/C, fast WiFi internet, desk. Queen size bed and SMALL pull out couch will accommodate three adults. Quiet family friendly south Minneapolis location with less than 10 min walk to light rail easily connected to downtown and the airport. High chair and pack and play available upon request.
Fully furnished 357 sqft house on a foundation. It has an open studio floor plan best suited for 1-2 travelers but can sleep a 3rd adult on a small pull out couch of which the cushions rest on the floor. Completely private, this house is referred to as an Accessory Dwelling Unit that I designed and built the summer of 2017. It is not complete, there are some exterior finishing details yet to do but it is very comfortable for you and all of my previous guests. Solidly built by my team and clad in steel, it is unlike any other single family home in this metro area. Queen size "Purple Original" Combination washer and dryer is efficient, easy to use with instructions provided and laundry detergent is provided. Full kitchen is stocked with the basic tools needed to assemble and store a simple meal. Coffee maker, toaster, etc... the basics. I'm open to suggestions. 3/4 bath has a large shower with a built in seat. Towels, wash cloths, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper, hair dryer are provided. The house is connected to the internet. A smart television and a WIFI router are connected to that internet. There is not broad cast television. You can log into your own Netflix, or Hulu from the menu on the tv and stream your own content. You can also surf the web with the remote. You can bring your own casting device and plug into the HDMI port on the tv. There is not cable tv in the house. I have two security cameras mounted on the exterior of the house. They are used for safety and security of my vehicle and mural only. For safety's sake, I would suggest as good practice to keep you and your belongings secure as you see fit and take precautionary measures. The mural and paintings on the exterior of the house were painted by native to MN artist Deuce 7.
This is a nice location in a vibrant city yet to meet its full potential. Quiet, clean, friendly. Several unique boutiques, vintage/antique shops, restaurants for dine in or delivery, parks and green space a short distance. As anywhere please practice simple precautionary measures with regards to safety. For example, simple stuff like always locking the doors of your vehicle and the house.
  • This beautifully designed space is ideal for the single business traveler or couple. The walk to the Blue Line light rail is under 10 minutes - great for trips into MPLS ( ~10 minute ride) or downtown St. Paul (~ 55 minutes). The fare of $2.00/$2.50rush is good for 2.5 hours and allows transfers to the bus system (Metrotransit.org) Nearby in the neighborhood is a very good liquor store (Elevated Beer, Wine & Spirits), a very good asian bistro (Dumpling), great pizza (Parkway Pizza), and the Venn Brewing Company. All are <10 minute walk . Groceries and coffee might be a 5-minute drive. The neighborhood is pretty darn quiet. The bed is very comfortable. And Philip has supplied most of what you need if you choose to cook (microwave, stove) your meals in. The coded entry is convenient and parking is easy on the street. Of note, if you fly into MSP, and you're not loaded with luggage, you could be on the train and into the tiny house within a half hour. Pretty slick!

Welcome to Minneapolis! Stay in this stunning hideaway right in the center of Uptown. Filled with modern decor and amenities to make you feel right at home, it's walkable to the best restaurants and nightlife Uptown has to offer. Additionally, Lake of the Isles is just footsteps from the door and makes for a fantastic afternoon stroll or bike ride. See you soon!
This Air BnB is located on the top floor of a home in the heart of Uptown and has its own private entrance. Outside: Access is gained via a fun and timeless 1 story spiral staircase. This hideaway has it's own private deck at the top of the staircase and there is also a spacious patio at the base of the staircase that is a shared space with the home owner. Both the deck and the patio are great for sitting outside with a cup of locally roasted coffee and working on the computer or reading a great book. Inside: There is a spacious bedroom with a comfy queen bed for 2. The bedroom includes a dresser and closet to keep all your belongings in order. There is also a full length mirror to help you look your best before heading out. In the kitchen I have included everything you could need to make and/or enjoy a meal including a table for dining or computer work using the free wifi. There is a bathroom in the unit that I pridefully keep spotless, along with the rest of the unit. There will be fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryer, cotton swabs, and makeup removing pads for your convenience. Need to relax and just hang? Grab a seat in the living room on the cushy couch and surf the internet via free wifi or enjoy some of your favorite shows on the complimentary Netflix. Have a third or fourth guest? No problem, the sofa contains a pull out bed (size: full) for an extra place to sleep. Your comfort is my priority! Nearby: In one direction you are steps away from all the shopping, restaurants, and nightlife Uptown has to offer. See my guidebook for recommendations! In the other direction you are steps away from Lake of the Isles which is surrounded with a walking AND biking path. Lake of the Isles provides the perfect scenery for an afternoon jog or bike. So, what are you waiting for? Come enjoy everything this great neighborhood has to offer!
Situated in the hip, refreshingly unconventional Uptown neighborhood. Uptown is a crossroads connecting the energy of the city and the calm of the lakes. It's a destination that combines shopping and dining with nature and lifestyle. Fortunately, all of these things are just steps away. Centered around Calhoun Square at Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue, Uptown blends the sophisticated, the scenic, and the stylish into a decidedly urban environment-a perfect melting pot of places to go and things to do. We urge you to come explore our fabulous community!

  • A very nice place in a very nice neighborhood where you can easily walk to food and entertainment.

    Lynn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean and has everything that you need. It looks exactly like the pictures with maybe a few some detail changes but the overall layout is still the same. The bathroom has a small space to move around but I was able to used to it pretty quickly. It's a beautiful quiet place and I would definitely try this place again because of its beauty of the interior room spaces and exterior outside spaces.

Easy parking Fast Uber/Lyft all times of day Close to parks, trails, and the river 2 miles from US Bank Stadium 2 miles from Target Field/Center 2.5 miles from the Convention Center 15 minutes from MSP airport
This is your own private apartment -- the entire second level of what used to be a corner grocery store. Built in 1902, the space is super unique, comfortable, and modern, yet retains its historic and charming character. Located near downtown, the U of M, and the Mississippi river. Enjoy the spacious, open layout, take advantage of the beautiful private backyard, and explore the neighborhood! In the mornings, brew some locally roasted coffee or tea (we provide both) in the sunny kitchen, and have breakfast outside on the deck among the treetops overlooking the large, wildflower-filled private backyard, where, later in the day, you might decide to stroll down the spiral staircase to the yard and have a barbecue, or sit around the fire pit on a starry night with a drink. The apartment will sleep five people, but is most comfortable with two or three. I live nearby, and am always available by phone whenever you might need anything! ————— CHECK-IN ————— Upon arrival, you can let yourself in with the keypad lock -- we'll provide the code when you book. ————— BEDROOM ————— There is one bedroom, with plenty of room to hang up your clothes, and a super comfortable queen-sized memory-foam mattress with lots of pillows and a down comforter. There are bedside tables with lamps and outlets for your phones. The living room sofa is comfortable and can accommodate one person, and I can also provide a queen-sized self-inflating air mattress if needed. ————— BATHROOM ————— There is one bathroom with tub/shower, sink, toilet, plenty of fresh white towels and washcloths, a hairdryer, and complimentary shampoo/body wash. ————— KITCHEN ————— The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm -- convection oven and gas range, fridge, pots/pans/utensils/dishes, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster, plenty of counter space, good knives, and a concrete rolling island. Just off the kitchen is a cool birch tree-painted room with a breakfast counter, which leads out to the second-story deck. ————— LIVING/DINING ROOM ————— The living area is open and light-filled, with lots of plants and art. There's a large sofa, a chaise lounge, and our custom made coffee/end tables. In the adjoining den, there is a desk, a sofa, and a large flat screen TV with all the streaming services and a great soundbar. ————— BACKYARD/DECK ————— You have your own private deck, and also access to the yard below via spiral staircase. The backyard is a special spot. Fully fenced in, it feels super private and a world away — plenty of decks, lounge spots, garden beds, and a fire pit for you to enjoy on a chilly evening with friends. It’s also a great area for photo shoots — weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, or anything else! ————— LAUNDRY ————— There is a washer and dryer in the unit, fully free and open for you to use at any time.

  • Warm, sunny and inviting from the first step in the door, the apartment was super clean and well-appointed. Peter gave great tips for dining/shopping/etc. in and around the neighborhood. Definitely a stay-again!

  • Great spot and place to enjoy Minneapolis. Peter’s place is sunny, roomy and comfortable. He was very prompt with his communications.

    Amy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • If there was a swipe file for how to run an AirBnb, I'd steal Pete's gorgeous space & seamless process in a heartbeat. I'm a local to Minneapolis, and was looking for a space outside my home office for a friend & I to hunker down for a little weekend writer's retreat. After booking the place based on budget, proximity & cuteness without getting my gal pal's approval, she confirmed what I already knew - that this little spot was EVERYTHING we were looking for. Someplace inspirational to get the creative juices flowing, a home away from home with beautiful light, plants, cozy nooks everywhere. Like between me & her we had 5 places we could hole up and write inside Pete's place, and still have a bright, collaborative, coworking space without feeling suffocated or on top of each other. We took Pete up on his recommendations & ordered takeout via Door Dash from Khao Hom on Friday night, and it was fantastic. Saturday morning I walked the 5 blocked to Carma Coffee for a lavendar honey latte and a breakfast sammy. So good! And to get the full NE MPLS experience, Saturday evening we walked to Mayslacks - for a dive bar this place had a large menu & really decent food. We took home leftovers and had a nice brisk walk home that energized us for the next 5 hours of writing & wine we were about to partake in, LOL.  Walkability factor was awesome; we didn't have to get in our car the entire weekend.  After living in the Lake Minnetonka area for 12 years, now I know why I loved living in NE MPLS back in the day. It's just vibes. The little Corner Store is the perfect place to bring people together. I already want to book out the upper & lower duplex simultaneously for women's retreats, and we're planning on coming back at least once a quarter to write our speeches & books b/c you know....#werk :) It's insta-worthy, it's safe, it's walkable, your host is fantastic. For all you local peeps who need a getaway (or if you're an entrepreneur, writer, speaker, business owner needing a spot to get stuff done), there ain't no need to be wasting hours driving to a cabin in Brainerd. Stay here.

    Nuj Txeeg2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We love this apartment and stay here fairly frequently for work trips: we just booked three more stays. It's fabulous at all times of year: in winter, it's warm and cozy but it's also really bright due to being on a corner and having lots of windows - and we also like to curl up on the sofa in the evening with a glass of red wine and look out at the snow. And Peter, as always, is a wonderful host.

    Fiona2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was convenient, in a good location , and very cute. We stayed in the winter and the heat worked nicely. We really enjoyed Peter's list of reccomendations of coffee and restaurants.

A queen pillow top bed sleeps two in your private room on the main floor of my home. Just four blocks to Victory Memorial Parkway, which links to the Grand Rounds bike/walk paths circling Mpls. It's a 10 minute drive to downtown Mpls, and easily accessible by multiple highways. I love that my neighborhood is diverse, centrally located, and home to many historic, well-maintained homes.
My home is a cozy and welcoming place for you to rest and recharge during your time in Minneapolis! You'll have your own room on the main floor, and use of the main floor bathroom, which will be shared with other Airbnb guests. The bedroom has a queen bed, nightstand, and closet. The bright bathroom has a shower and jetted tub.
I'm in the urban Cleveland neighborhood of NW Minneapolis. My block is comprised of single-family homes (one duplex on the corner), mostly homeowners and a couple of rentals. My neighborhood is diverse and safe--it will not look like a suburban neighborhood. You'll often hear the neighborhood kids playing on weekends and evenings in warmer months. My home is four blocks to the beautiful Victory Memorial Parkway, part of the Grand Rounds bike/walking paths that travel throughout Minneapolis, and which are unique in every season. I'm less than a mile from North Memorial Hospital (I do hear sirens and helicopters when enjoying my patio), and just a 10 minute drive from downtown Minneapolis. It's also easy to access multiple highways to get around the Twin Cities area. The neighborhood is very residential--I can't boast of a coffee shop on the corner :) The closest businesses are a few blocks away, and include the awesome Lowry Cafe, family-run North End Hardware, and a Subway, Family Dollar, and ALDI, as well as a post office. Minneapolis bus service is very reliable, but my home is probably a better fit if you will have a car while in town.
  • My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay. The place is in a safe neighborhood. Plenty of free parking. The room itself was very nice and there were free snacks in the kitchen which was greatly appreciated. We would absolutely stay again!

This large and versatile home is part traditional Minnesota craftsman, part International ski lodge, with a pinch of cosmopolitan bling to create a distinctly "City" vibe. Tastefully updated to provide modern comforts while still preserving the original 1920s feel, this home is both glamorous and understated. Clean lines and surfaces dominate the functional craftsman aesthetic and the interior design follows the architecture's lead.
Maple. Pine. Red Oak. The holy trinity of the Midwestern craftsman envelop this unique home in a natural warmth. The craftsmanship of the wood, the simplicity and geometry of the main home and the loft, create a rich and interesting environment that is both pleasing to the eye and functional for travelers. The Sun Room: wonderful street view with awesome cordless shades and curtains that open and close for privacy. The Star Room: Silverdrop and Cucumber, Turkish tassel rug and two steps to the bathroom! The Green Room: quiet and private, near the balcony and bathroom, with a view of the backyard. The Loft: perfectly asymmetrical, with cozy foam flooring and (faux) fur bedding.
Bancroft is the quintessential south Minneapolis residential neighborhood popular for its craftsman homes, coffee shops, restaurants, and lightning fast access to downtown.
  • We loved this home! The entire place is so cozy and very homey. The loft is beautiful and the entire home is very well-equipped with everything you could ever need for your stay. This is a beautiful river front vacation home about 70 minutes from the heart of the Twin Cities, that is decorated and designed with relaxation in mind. You can enjoyed the beautiful view of the river while you relax over a hot morning coffee, or as you sink into the overstuffed furniture with popcorn and a hot chocolate in the afternoon. All rentals come with a complimentary muffins for breakfast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate to enhance your experience.
This little country retreat is located on a country dirt road with little to no neighbors which makes it very quiet and private. The little town of Pine City is only about 4 miles away and the community is friendly and welcoming. Chubby's Grill boasts one of the best Bloody Mary's around which serves like a meal and tastes great. We are surrounded on one side by the river and behind us is all wooded county property. It's the great getaway experience that you will love.
It's a safe, quiet and friendly neighborhood, where most people enjoy the outdoors and lazy days floating on inner tubes or kayaks down the river. The neighbors in town and on Copper Canyon road are friendly and helpful and happy to fill you in pool n all that Pine City has to offer
  • Sandra's place is great, everything was clean and felt like home!

  • This cabin SO CUTE and inviting!!!! Not only is it decorated cute, but it's really nice too! Jim & Sandy did a really nice job with the style of it. LOVE that floor & the kitchen is beautiful as well. And that view! <3 <3 It was so wonderful that it felt like home/our own cabin because it was so cozy. They are so generous with everything and all their things and their hospitality is beyond words. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice little private getaway without having to drive that far. And it's so affordable! They have done a great job with this little piece of paradise. So pet friendly. Along with the beautiful views and super sweet touches, you will find board games, household items, the hot tub, comfy bed and furniture, everything, except 1 closet of personal items, is there awaiting your use. There is everything you could need to cook, do laundry, relax, enjoy the outdoors, and more. It was hard to leave to return home! Thank you again! XOXO

  • Beautiful place to stay, we really enjoyed the hot tub and the amazing view of the river. Great location away from everyone but close enough to town to eat or get anything you might need. We really enjoyed the public beach in Pine city and how close we were to State parks.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Sandra's bungalow. It was homey and very comfortable. I really liked the screened porch. Perfect place to play board and card games. Sandra also had a nice selection of games. The kitchen was stocked with some essential items for cooking, which I appreciated. I would definitely stay there again.

In the winter enjoy snowmobiling, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, or ice fishing.

There is some Wi-Fi signal but it is weak especially on phones - laptops seem to work better. Cell phones work around cabin due to a booster that we have. • This is a great little cabin with a loft that the kids loved. The sauna was a great. Very quiet and relaxing.

  • If you’re looking for a getaway to unwind and unplug, Doug & Roxanne’s place is designed for that. The stars at night were a lovely treat. The sauna was a great way to relax. The cabin is cozy, quaint and charming!! Thank you!

  • Awesome

    Rod2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It is the perfect place to disconnect from the world, unwind and relax!!

    Rebecca2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a nice warm little cabin! This cozy winter get away was exactly what we needed and this spot was fantastic. The sauna was so relaxing. And everything for the price is just crazy!

    Jacob2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place for a solo getaway trip, but it would also work great for a family of four or five. The sauna stole the show for me - it’s the real ‘wet’ kind where you put water on the rocks- and after about an hour it got up to 210F, which in my book is ideal. The sauna stove is electric so you don’t have to hassle with feeding a fire. They had snowshoes set out to use, and the woods were a perfect density and terrain for doing that, though on the second day I opted not to go again since I heard people hunting in the distance and didn’t have any orange jackets. Bring your own drinking water if you have an aversion to water with a distinct well taste, though I got used to it quickly. It was a cozy place, and the bird watching was spectacular right out the windows. If you are there in winter and like XC skiing, check out the Soaring Eagle Trail up by Park Rapids, only 25 minutes away. I would definitely return to stay here again!

    Jonathan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cute little cabin. Perfect for couples who want to spend time together in peace and quiet, and just relax and unplug. The sauna was amazing. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all our meals with the food we brought. A lovely and cozy space. Definitely recommend.

    Laura2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was vary clean and decorated plenty of bowls plates cups and silverware! The sauna was amazing!!!!! We had fun snowshoeing! Saw a lot of bald eagles! They provide so much more then they have listed. They have a mother cabin looking building and garage on the property were I think they live cas they seemed to be there every night but they are vary respectful and keep to them selfs. They respond quickly and thoroughly.

We built this secluded, comfortable little house in 1995 to create a retreat from the pressures of everyday life. Now we share its beauty with others looking for a quiet space that feels more like having your own cabin than a hotel or rental. Enjoy!
This is a beautiful, private cabin on a secluded stretch of the Baptism River, near the shore of Lake Superior. We built the place ourselves in 1995, using largely local materials and energy-saving building techniques (passive solar, extra insulation, etc.) There is a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and den downstairs, and a loft bedroom (with a stunning view) upstairs; outside the sliding glass doors is a deck with a view of the woods and the music of the rushing water below. An artesian well provides delicious, clean, running water, and an infrared sauna helps you deepen your relaxation. The bedroom has a queen size bed, and you could accommodate an extra person on the fold-out couch (though we don't recommend more than three adults, or two adults plus younger kids). We have central heat and a shower, a full kitchen and high-speed Internet access. We enjoy renting the cabin to responsible people who love the woods as much as we do; this is NOT a commercial venture, but a way to share the beauty of the north woods on a budget, and we keep the price low by relying on you to leave it as you found it and don't charge a cleaning fee. (Think of it more like visiting your own cabin than a hotel or resort.) If you prefer not to clean when you depart, please check out one of the many other beautiful places to stay in the area. We can't do one-night booking; again, please keep in mind that this is not one of those listings (which are great!) that function like a bed & breakfast or hotel. It's simply our cabin that we share with you, and while a neighbor helps with maintenance, there is no linen service etc. Well behaved, nondestructive pets are welcome. Quiet hours must be strictly honored from 10PM to 7AM. No discharge of firearms or fireworks is allowed. Fires are only allowed in the fire ring by the pond. Not down by the river. No other homes are visible or audible from the cabin, even though it is only a 10-minute drive from small and historic Finland, MN. Great hiking nearby includes the Lake Superior Hiking Trail; a Boundary Waters Canoe Area entry point is just 20 minutes away in Isabella. The river offers a soothing backdrop as well as the challenge, for the fishermen and -women among you, of brook trout. Swimming is possible at several gorgeous swimming holes nearby. After you book, please make sure to look at the "Directions" and "House Manual" tabs—there's lots of information there that you need. Thanks, and hope you have a fantastic North Woods vacation!
  • This river cabin is no joke. The river runs right next to the cabin. It's beautiful to listen to right from the back deck. You are completely surrounded with nature. Plenty of windows give you views in most directions. Lots of pots, pans, and silverware for cooking. There are trails surrounding cabin for immediate exploration. Birds and squirrels visit the feeders daily. Bring extra blankets for winter and your own towels. I would stay again any time.

  • Great host, great space, we love the cabin. It's our 3rd or 4th time staying here. It gets better every time. Thank you Monika.

    Marc2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, secluded cabin in the woods! The peace and quiet, the huge windows, the bird watching, were all divine. Great location. Kitchen and overall amenities were just right. Grateful that the driveway was plowed when we arrived, even with fresh snow earlier that day. Loved for the extra lighting compared to many rentals, and the general cozy feel of the cabin. Glad we brought an extension cord or two, blankets (in addition to sheets and towels), and a few camp chairs for comfort and sitting out on the deck.

    Max2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect cozy getaway in the northwoods!! It’s pretty secluded and very quiet - it was a great escape from the cities and a perfect place to enjoy winter. Thanks to those who stayed before us for cleaning up so well! The loft with the big windows makes you feel like you’re sleeping in a tree house. We loved that we could bring our pup as not many places like this allow pets. We will definitely stay again!

  • This loft space is very large and in an excellent location in Stillwater. We were within walking distance of tons or restaurants, bars, shops, etc. - everything we were looking for. It was clean and exactly as described. There are stairs leading up to it, and it does have street noise due to the location, but that was to be expected. Would rent this space again!

  • This is the best place to stay in Stillwater if you are looking for a home feeling. No need to drive anywhere as you can shop, dine and play all within walking distance. I have only stayed in the winter and always have a blast. The steps to get to the loft would be challenging for seniors. I have stayed here with my family as well as with girlfriends. You will love this place and the beds are comfortable.

    Sandra2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Location can't be beat. It is huge, seems even larger in person then the photo's. Very clean, Nice that it had a smart TV so we could do our Netflix binging. There was shampoo, body wash, kleenex, towels, washcloths, soft blankets on couch. What more could you want, all you need is your clothes and food. Great places to dine and some GREAT specials! Fun stores all around. We were here in the winter and am looking forward to staying again in the summer. Parking and the stairs are the only negatives but the place is so nice its worth those 2 drawbacks. LOVED our stay.

Andrew and Joy were so helpful with any questions we had. The amenities here are awesome and there was even had a little gift basket waiting for us when we arrived. We were just amazed at how wonderful this place is and how great Andrew and Joy are to work with. Absolute super hosts! We can't wait to visit again!

  • Wow! We loved this home so much. The photos are beautiful but when we walked in our jaws dropped. Homey and cozy but soooo much room to accommodate everyone. Everyone in our group loved this place and we can’t wait to come back.

  • Beautiful home! Stylish and comfortable. Tons of room throughout the house and all the details seem to be thought of (e.g. tons of towels for the hot tub, a fridge downstairs as well, etc.). We had an amazing time celebrating a couple birthdays with friends for the weekend and plan to be back again!

    Jordan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Joy were amazing, attentive, and personalized hosts. The facility is more than just a lodge, it truly is a retreat for the mind, body, and spirit! We were SO thankful to find this gem for our 20+ group of parents seeking a recharge from the normal, crazy kid-filled life. The River Lodge delivered!

    Lindsey2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful, and spacious cabin! We were a group of 8 adults and everyone slept comfortably. We enjoyed the large kitchen, great room w/fireplace, ping pong table, and hot tub. The location was nice and secluded and only 15mins from Crosby.

    Tom2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Riverview Lodge exceeded my expectations. This place has it all. Every space was clean, well decorated and had thoughtful touches throughout. Every person in our group felt comfortable and had plenty of room to spread out when needed. Andrew and Joy were amazing hosts. Thank you again for making our stay so memorable.

    Jamie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place for a large family gathering! Clean, spacious, many separate seating areas for individual conversations or to get away. Lots of fun extras like hot tub, fire pit and grill, ping pong table and other games plus all the amenities of home!

  • If you're looking for a spacious getaway off the beaten path with nature as yourbackdrop, this place is for you. Kelly and Brian have a beautiful, cozy home that is stocked full of amenities. We took full advantage of the full kitchen, books, & games. The bed is comfortable and the place is clean. We would be delighted to stay there again next time we travel to the area!

    Elizabeth2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at the cabin! The place was very cozy and relaxing. Kelly left a binder full of local recommendations for breweries, lunch/dinner spots, and the house rules, which was very helpful! I was staying in the lower level for a work trip during the week and the other tenants upstairs were a little rowdy during quiet hours — I’m very thankful that Kelly quickly stepped in when I messaged her. For a family or friend trip, I would probably recommend renting the whole place 😊

    Michelle2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The description and pictures are accurate! I would definitely recommend staying there!

    Shuler2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at Kelly's place several times. I love it! I love the woodsy setting. It is immaculate! A very homey, comfortable place to spend a night or two.

    Ruth2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay. Great distance from Duluth. Comfortable and quiet.

    Christine2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly's place is outstanding! Very clean and we felt very much at home. She took good care of us by providing starters for breakfast and no shortage of basic supplies. The location is beautiful, isolated, and very cozy. Trips for groceries and supplies can be kind of tricky. Expect to pay a good amount for rides into Duluth and deliveries. Likely not an issue if you have your own car though. Unfortunately we did not. The fireplace was a little disappointing. It's electric and felt more like a big space heater, but we definitely never went cold. The bedroom and living room each had very nice Samsung smart TVs. Probably the nicest entertainment centers I've ever seen in an AirBNB. There were several locked doors, one in each room, that caused us a bit of unease at first, but we quickly got used to it and forgot they were there. Unusual amount of rules that aren't made totally clear until you get there. For example, you're only limited to 4 guests and they seemed unusually stern about it. Although I'm sure they just want to keep the place nice for their guests, which we appreciated. I've never been a host myself and probably just don't realize how destructive people can get. All and all a very good experience and we'd definitely stay with Kelly again without a second thought.

    Justin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great area and the place was cozy!

    Stefanie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z

  • We had such a lovely time at the treehouse. It was such a cozy and warm spot to spend a long winter weekend. We hunkered down to play games, read, cook, and relax. It's a pretty special spot. I can't wait to see what it looks like in the summer or fall.

    * Sauna available November-March. A new timber frame cabin 4 miles from Grand Marais, the perfect distance to feel like you are in the woods and still run to town whenever you choose. It is filled with windows to capture the amazing Lake Superior vistas plus a big skylight to stargaze and watch the northern lights. Grab your coffee and walk down to the pebble beach across the road or hang out on the big cedar deck and watch the waves crash on Five Mile Rock. Instagram/Face book @aguanortemn
*** Please read ALL info, specially 'Other Things to Notice' section. The cabin is located in a 10 acre parcel, nested in between evergreen trees and gorgeous Lake Superior. The property is full of wild life, birds, butterflies, wild flowers and wild berries. It is the perfect spot for a couple looking for a romantic and peaceful getaway, or a single person in search of quietude. The 16'x20' cabin was built in 2014. The white pine timbers that compose the frame were locally and sustainably logged, sawed and treated by us, the owners. It has 8 huge windows and a cathedral ceiling, making this tiny home very airy, elegant and modern. The open loft has a huge skylight for stargaze and it can be accessed by a ships ladder. It has been designed with 2 people in mind, and although we don't encourage more than two, it can accommodate a party of 4 in a very cozy way. The kitchen has full size appliances, doug fir cabinets, blue quartz countertop and a black walnut bar top with two bar stools. It is a beautiful place to cook your meals and enjoy the lake view. It has a fridge and freezer, 4 burner electric stove with oven, coffee maker, blender and all needed cooking and baking utensils. There is a TV and DVD player on the loft, and a TV with an Apple TV in the living room. Please bring your own credentials to access channels on Apple TV. The bathroom is truly spa like: beautiful, spacious and airy. It has cedar wood paneling, beach pebble shower floor, a white vessel sink and two closets. A washer and dryer set are also located in the bathroom and available for guests to use. Please do read all instructions before using it. Outside, the fire pit overlooks Lake Superior and the vegetable garden, and it is conveniently located by the picnic table. It is the perfect spot for an evening bonfire. The garden is located about 10 yards west of the cabin and you are welcome to pick veggies for your dinner. The watering hose is connected to the outside of the north wall of the cabin and we will access it whenever we are working the garden (If you enjoy gardening and would like to take care of it, by all means! Just let us know ;) Oh, and keep an eye out for all the bald eagles! The big tall spruce tree on the edge of the cliff overlooking the lake is the hangout area for these beautiful birds. It is basically guaranteed that you will see one or a couple hanging out on the three and being harassed by crows and seagulls.
The timber frame cabin is located only 4 miles East of Grand Marais (towards Canada). It is the perfect distance to have the 'in the woods' feeling, and still run to town when you choose. The very private 10 acre property is surrounded by evergreen trees on 3 sides, and Lake Superior on its south side.
  • This place is magic. Absolutely would stay again.

    Kiley2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing. All of the detail that Simone and Andrew put into it makes you feel like you’re staying in a home away from home. The cabin looks exactly like the pictures that are posted and we couldn’t have asked for a cuter place to spend our night. The skylight above the bed was one of our favorite parts about the cabin. It allows you to lay in bed and stargaze and take in the peacefulness of the shore. We saw some deer grazing in the yard in front of the cabin and the view of lake superior is just beautiful. I would recommend this stay to anyone who is looking for a relaxing getaway in a cabin that will surpass expectations. Will definitely be back!

    Hannah2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was beautiful! Will definitely come back to Grand Marais and stay here. It was the perfect getaway. Would highly recommend this cabin!

    Rebecca2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Expect to be overwhelmed at the beauty of the night time sky line. Enjoy the view of Lake Superior and make sure to enjoy a refreshing sauna. Easily one of the best places/hosts we had the pleasure of meeting.

  • If you are looking for a beautiful view of Lake Superior in Grand Marais, then this is the perfect spot! The cabin is clean, stylish, and SO cozy. The hosts were responsive and had everything all ready for our stay. The cabin is a convenient 5 minutes from town. The coolest parts of the cabin are the skylight above the bed and the expansive patio with a view of the lake. We can’t say enough good things about this place! We will certainly be back for another visit!

    Kyle2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

This cozy studio is the perfect place to relax, unwind & enjoy simple accommodations with a warm, "forest" theme. The studio offers everything you'd need. Hi speed WiFi, Hulu & Netflix, a full kitchen, plenty of drawer/closet space, a very comfortable queen bed, a breakfast bar, coffee table that doubles as a desk, and a PRIME location near restaurants, bars, & shops, with convenient public transit access on "high frequency" routes. On-site laundry and off-street parking round it out.
Coffee table doubles as a desk. This home is powered by 100% wind energy via Xcel's WindSource.
Fantastic location in "Uptown" Minneapolis. This location is perfectly situated between downtown Minneapolis and "Calhoun Square," the main shopping area of uptown. Nearby, there are great restaurants, bars & coffee shops, as well as a convenience store (1 block) & community Co-op grocery store (2 blocks). Some of my favorites (within 4 blocks): The Lowry: trendy bar/restaurant but not too upscale. Great HH. Liquor Lyle's: Classic hole-in-the-wall bar. Mortimer's: Great place for some Foosball & darts. The Wedge: Community co-op with an organic & local focus. Caffetto Coffee: A MPLS staple. Burch Steak & Pizza: Upscale, great food. Bradstreet Crafthouse: "Speakeasy" atmosphere. Sebastian Joe's: One of the most famous ice cream cafes. Walk-Bike Score: Walk: 92 (Walker's Paradise). Transit: 62 (Good Transit). Bike: 86 (Very Bikeable). Distances to: Lake of the Isles (0.6 miles) Loring Park & Walker Arts Center (0.6 miles) Downtown Minneapolis (1.5 miles) Calhoun Square, uptown (1 mile)

  • Near cool spots, got the chance to save a lot of time reaching downtown from this place. Bed is really comfortable and the spot is Vintage and cozy! It's a Small studio yes but i had enough space and to be honest that TV and bed got me at first sight. I worked on my laptop a few hours in the appartment and Wi-fi works good and the TV Setup is super effective. By the way, the center table becomes a standard diner table, discovered this 2 days later!! I wanted a smooth spot for the week i was in Minneapolis and i went on the main street 2 corner streers away, found some nice spots too. Matt had cool list of place to visit on is page also. Price was fair, i'm happy! Will definitely use other Matt listing in my next Minneapolis visit.

    Stéphane2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Matt’s place was perfect for the weekend! It’s in a great location; a quick drive to downtown & walking distance to bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The bed was super comfy, making it a little difficult to get up and be productive haha 😉 Matt was a great host! He was quick to respond and had lots of great local suggestions. We would definitely stay again!

This historic South Minneapolis home was built in 1910 just before the Craftsman boom of the 20s. Original maple floors, mahogany staircase winding to the 2nd floor bedrooms and bath, cozy mint sun porch, and sprawling deck and backyard.
No pets have lived in this house but some pets are welcome!
Located in Bancroft, the quintessential south Minneapolis neighborhood, this property offers easy access to coffee shops, restaurants, the lakes, public transportation, and everything the city has to offer.
  • This was a great space for us and close to many things that we enjoyed on our visit. There is a backyard space, and while it was fenced in, our shorter dog could have gotten out so we kept them on a leash when we took them outside.

  • Harbor Home is in a fantastic location and offers a good value. It’s cozy for a family with two active little kids but we loved being able to have our own beds and a separate bedroom for the kiddos. A perfect jumping off point for all the great outdoor adventures in Grand Marais area. The hosts are wonderful communicators and very helpful. We hope to return!

  • The apartment is very clean, easy to access, and conveniently located to all Duluth's hot spots! We liked that it was surrounded by nature instead of backed up to other houses (even if we visited in the winter and didn't make use of the backyard). Very cozy and comfortable! Danny and Angie were incredibly responsive to questions. Highly recommend!

  • Great stay and we would/will probably look to book again. Unit is very clean, communication was great with quick response to any questions. The location is convenient, very close to UMD and CSS as well as downtown Duluth. Check in was convenient with no problems and value was high at about ½ the cost of a hotel room. No problem giving out a 5 star here!

  • Terrific hosts. Angie is on top of her game and her communication is wonderful. The neighbor's snowblowing skills keep access open, even in early morning. This place is spotless and the amenities are top drawer, including wireless internet.

This neighborhood is Minneapolis' best kept secret! In our opinion - and we may be a bit biased - you couldn’t have picked a better neighborhood to stay at when visiting Minneapolis. Lyndale is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in all of Minneapolis. People from all walks of life and all corners of the globe live, work and play side by side. Going downtown? It's just a 10 minute Uber ride or drive away. Coming from the airport? This is a great location for a layover - just a 15 minute drive from the airport. It’s a really walkable neighborhood where you can access everything from restaurants, bars, lakes, and downtown area within a short walk, bike ride or an Uber ride. We have a ton of amazing restaurants and bars in the area including some of the best Ramen we’ve ever tried, a perfect coffeehouse if you're in the mood for a latte, espresso or want to try some local creations, as well as a variety of other options. Right nearby, you can access Lake Calhoun, the largest lake in Minneapolis and a part of the so-called Chain of Lakes. It’s connected to other lakes in the city through a series of trails and is popular in the warm months for canoeing, kayaking, and windsurfing, and swimming. Right near the lake is another super fun and hip neighborhood called Uptown. It has a ton of restaurants, bars, shops and things to do and is worth checking out if you have a bit of time. If you head North of us, you’ll come across the famous Eat Street. Going from there, all the way to downtown Minneapolis, it's an awesome and affordable area to get a full taste of all the different flavors of the Twin Cities. It got over 40 restaurants within a few blocks and constantly changes too. If you want to go shopping at more mainstream stores, check out the famous Mall of America - also just a 15 minute drive away. Believe it or not, it is the largest mall in the United States in terms of total floor area and the twelfth largest in the world. It’s got over 500 stores, cinemas, as well as a full blown amusement park inside. Hope you enjoy spending time in Lyndale and Minneapolis as much as we do! If you need anything, just shoot us a message via Airbnb app and we’ll get back to you right away! Enjoy!

Cute little apartment, separate from main house, available for a quiet relaxing retreat. On hill overlooking Prairie Lake on our large wooded property. In the country, but only 5 mins from town.
2 Bedrooms with full bath and full kitchen. Small living room with big couch and recliner chair. Deck with nice patio furniture to eat meals at. This is actually an above garage apartment, but since its entrance is at ground level in ‘back’ and has view of woods and lake…it feels like a cute little guest house / cabin! Main bedroom has queen sized bed and large closet. Small 2nd bedroom has bunk beds with twin on top and larger full mattress below. (Could handle 3 children easily.)
Area: Approx. 3 hours north of Minneapolis. Excellent location on the edge of the wilderness! Only 5 Miles from Grand Rapids: Restaurants and shopping are just minutes away back into town. Chippewa National Forest begins 8 miles the other direction - where one can go hiking, exploring, canoeing, boating, etc. in beautiful seclusion!
  • A wonderful place to stay.

    Becky2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts, great location, great dog. Definitely cannot go wrong here. We had the chance to walk on the lake and hike in the national forest/DNR land nearby. We loved it

  • Cozy place to stay and right off of a lake!

  • This is our 3rd time visiting! It is a wonderful space. We will 100% be back for a 4th!

    Emelia2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Linda met us as we drove up and made us feel at home. This is a cozy little apartmentwith one good sized bedroom and a smaller bedroom with bunk beds. The bathroom is pretty big. The kitchen is on the small side - don't count on more than two people cooking at the same time - but it had everything we needed for a family of 4. Everything was very clean! There was only room for a very small table in the kitchen, but we opened the card table in the bigger bedroom and ate there and played games. It all worked out. In good weather there is a nice deck to use as the dining area. The beds were fine. We enjoyed all the snowshoeing in the area, and the view of the lake, and we will definately consider coming back up in the summer! Only two negatives. As mentioned elsewhere, the water smells of sulpher right now, which becomes less after it is run for a while. I wasn't terribly bothered by it. Second, the internet connectivity was spotty inside the apartment due to a weak signal from the router. Cell service was good for AT&T.

Perched up on timbers, this cozy little A-frame offers a perfect blend of urban loft and rustic cabin living. Offering a bird’s eye view of the harbor from the deck and the loft bedroom, the Birdhouse is a charming home base for your Grand Marais adventure. The cabin is nestled in an alley just a few steps from downtown restaurants, shops, harbor, breweries, coffee shop, North House Folk School, Art Colony and much more.
The centerpiece of the Birdhouse is the contemporary burgundy tub, perfect for sipping your morning coffee. Note that there is no shower. The wall of south facing windows lets the natural light pour in, perfect on a cold winter day! In the summer, the south facing deck is there for you to enjoy your happy hour drinks before you hit the night scene. The interior finish features a Nepali theme with porter baskets, yak wool blanket and large singing bowl. The warmth of an all wood finish is created by the birch floors, wood paneled walls and large loft timbers. The abstract shaped windows bring a nice modern balance. The kitchen is fully stocked. Mökki offers a bar fridge, propane stove top, kettle, drip cone coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and spices. Note that there is crock pot in lieu of an oven. The sound of the harbor seagulls are sure to make you feel like you are on an ocean front stay.
A quaint, walkable area, the cabin is nestled just across from the local library and one street away from lake Superior and the old Gunflint Trail road.
  • Architecturally beautiful and unique tiny house space for a wonderful weekend getaway. Love the location and everything was within walking distance. Really appreciate how easy Lonnie made the experience; communication was clear and had everything we needed to enjoy our time. Will book again!

  • Excellent location for Grand Marais, with a view of the water and tons of charm. This is a unique space, perfect to match our activities at the North House folk school. Prepare for a bath, not a shower as you're encouraged to live life at a different pace. A wonderful way to visit Grand Marais.

    Maxwell2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at! Wholeheartedly recommend

    Claire2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Birdhouse was a fun, inspiring getaway spot for winter fun. Space heater is super sufficient, just plan ahead and dial the heat way back before you climb into bed! We loved the beers next door at Voyageur and the short walk to their beautiful food co-op....among all of the views and proximity to skiing!

    Aimee2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with lots of character, located right in the heart of Grand Marais. Perfect for a winter getaway in northern MN.

  • This is a truly beautiful location. Right on a little lake and with an outstanding view off the back patio. Very quiet area. We went snowshoeing one morning and had the entire lake to ourselves. The studio was also a very close drive to plenty of great restaurants and shops. The place itself was very clean, comfortable, and had plenty of space for my husband and me.
