This 500 square ft studio-style casita has retro charm! On the west end of Marfa, conveniently located on the main street about a mile from the center of town. Sky lights bring the stars to your room & a large patio provides room to stretch out. FIRM NO PETS POLICY
The casita is on the less busy west end of town, yet still less than a mile from the main intersection. There is a private bathroom in the casita and access to a large front patio. The casita is equipped with two double beds; couch; and kitchenette with sink, mini fridge, microwave, hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, and tea pot. Dishes, basic utensils, and a few pans are provided. The front door opens onto a large porch which is shared with the neighboring casita. A screen door and window provide fresh air, and sky lights bring the stars to your bed! There are space heaters and an electric blanket to keep you toasty in the winter, and a window a/c unit for warm summer days. NEW on-demand hot water heater means no wait between showers!
The casita is on the west side of town. On the main street, it's a little less than one mile from the main intersection and only traffic light. If you're used to walking, you can get around easily on foot. Parking is not an issue in Marfa, so you may choose to drive to the center of town to gallery-hop. It tends to be pretty quiet, although large semi-trucks pass through (usually not past 9pm) and can be heard from time to time. There is also a train that goes through town and passes a few blocks away. It's whistle is loud and can actually be heard in all parts of town.
  • Excellent little casita with excellent, stylish touches. It has two double, comfortable beds. In town, but a bit away from the main attractions. This is good since it's more secluded, but you have to drive to get to everything. Not a long drive, though. Julie offers a good deal of information about places in Marfa. Overall, a great little casita!

  • Great place to stay. The record player was awesome. We look forward to coming back!

    Stephanie2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Record player is a nice touch. Very marfa like!

    Heidi2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Such a comfortable space! I had a great stay!

    Sarah2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Julie’s place was a great welcome after a long day of delayed flights and a drive from El Paso. Her place was clean and cozy. We loved the kitchenette. The decorations were great. If you stay at Julie’s place take some time to explore the town and eat at Marfa Burrito!!

    Sue2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, and a wonderfully charming place to stay. Julie was fantastic with communication on any questions we had and provided a wealth of knowledge about the ins and outs of Marfa, all of this made our stay all the more memorable. Do not pass this place up!

    John2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here. The casita is warm, cozy, and inviting. We will definitely stay here again in a future visit. The price is very reasonable as well.

    Bob2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Place was right on the main strip. Water was nice and hot. Wifi was strong. A lot of places near by for food and drinks, we even walked to dinner. Would definitely stay again.

Now that we got that out of the way... Minimalism meets eclectic chic. Fully appointed for comfort yet lightly decorated for an open, bright, & clean look. Fresh white walls and wood floors plus antique fixtures, vintage furnishings, and thrifted art. Walking distance to nearly everywhere! No Pets. No Exceptions. Sorry, it just doesn’t work for this property.
We don't know how long the Covid-19 situation is going to affect travel and safety. If this listing is showing as available please know that penalty free cancellations may not be an option. Airbnb's Covid-19 cancellation policies, while generally being in guests favor, are a moving target. They are responding to this as it unfolds. What we're doing to keep you safe during these times: With each clean we are sanitizing all counter tops, tables and surfaces. Sanitizing anything you might touch such as doorknobs, sink handles, cabinet pulls, etc., etc. And we can assure you that all linens and towels are washed and replaced with each clean. Centro Casita is in one of the best locations in Marfa. It is one block away from the gorgeous courthouse, the historic Paisano hotel, and several restaurants. Within just 2-3 blocks are several galleries, more restaurants, and unique retail spaces. The casita faces away from the main house and has a lovely private feel, and features a small patio in front with table and chairs. Off-street parking for two cars, or parking for one RV or truck with trailer. No hookups. We love animals, but unfortunately we do not allow pets - no exceptions - in order to accommodate those with allergies. Thanks for understanding.
  • Comfortably small space in a quiet spot. Secure check-in and more privatized parking made things easy. Awesome location too!

    Laith2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place is cute. It feels much larger than the pictures suggest. It’s right in the center of Marfa. Also, Gory was very accommodating with our arrival.

    David2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great and very Marfa! It wasn't clear from the pics that the bedroom was in fact in a separate room, so that was a nice surprise. I also don't remember seeing in the description that the casita was behind the main house but it is. That said, we had total privacy in our little tin bungalow and were never disturbed during our stay. The location was super convenient and we were walking distance from anything and everything. This was a great little escape!

    Stephanie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice as shown in photos!

    Alec2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

Located in the heart of Marfa, The Lincoln offers all the comforts of a private vacation home within walking distance to everything the area has to offer. Redesigned in 2006 by a local architect, #10 is the only papercrete structure in Marfa. Fully open-concept Sante Fe vibes meet an old-school Marfa feel. Equipped with steel countertops, wood accents, and a large private porch, it is one of the most architecturally distinctive units on the Lincoln property. Pet-friendly. Accommodates 3 guests.
105 West Lincoln Street originally started out as stables for the iconic Presidio County courthouse in the 1890s. A central residence was later built in the yard, and the surrounding structures converted into casitas in the 1920s. The property operated as apartments for almost a century, taking on numerous remodels and ultimately falling into disrepair. It was fully updated by the current owners between 2015 and 2017. The Lincoln is now a courtyard-compound consisting of some long-term housing and overnight suites (one of them an actual bomb shelter added in the 1950s). Each of the eclectic suites has been lovingly restored with respect to the history of the building and Marfa-inspired custom details. So no two spaces (or experiences) on the property are alike.
Marfa is only one square mile in size, so getting around is never a big concern, but The Lincoln is as centrally-located as it gets, across the street from the beautiful Courthouse Square with views of the historic Presidio County Courthouse. Highland Ave is the only Main Street in town, and we are just around the corner, with a local bakery called Aster serving breakfast and lunch right next door. We are a five minute walk to just about all the galleries, bars, and shops!
  • Fantastic space and close to everything. The aster cafe is just next door and the community space is very inviting. It’s a great and comfortable space to stay in Marfa.

  • This is one of the coolest Airbnbs we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. It is so thoughtfully designed. The kitchen and living room space has everything you need. The bathroom is unique and fun. The location is right in Marfa. We will absolutely be back.

    Tatiana2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Lincoln. The property is really centrally located in Marfa's main drag so there's some fun shops and eateries to visit walking distance. The room itself was clean, quiet and provided all the amenities we needed for a restful night and relaxed morning including coffee and a french press. The hosts were prompt and quick to provide recommendations and tips. Would definitely stay again! Thanks!

Sleep well in this quiet adobe casita, start your day slow while listening to Dolly on vinyl. Enjoy Marfa and all the surrounding area.
This ninety year old home has lots of charm and unique touches throughout keeping it true to its form with a few modern touches. We’re committed to providing squeaky clean, comfortable living quarters for every stay! Fully equipped kitchen to cook or just make cocktails. Full refrigerator with freezer ready to be stocked with home-cooked meals. Several pots and pans to cook most dishes. Plates, bowls and lots of glassware. Spoons, forks, knives and all sorts of assorted utensils are provided. There are two coffee pots: one automatic and one French press. Ground coffee is always stocked. We kept the original cabinets and bar top built by the original owners probably some fifty odd years ago. Lots of great stories have been told over the bar top. We traded out the big stove for a smaller half sized stove to allow more space in the kitchen. The half stove still has four burners and a medium size baking oven. There is no vent over the stove so we ask to please not cook with frying grease. The window opens to allow ventilation when things are getting hot in the kitchen. To avoid lingering kitchen smells you can open the front and back doors and turn the fan on. We keep some incense in the third kitchen drawer. There are a total of four comfortable sleeping arrangements: The master bedroom has one queen size bed, two bed side tables, a large TV, a standing mirror and walk-in closet with robe, extra fan and ironing board. The door way into the master bedroom shows how thick the adobe bricks are keeping things cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The back room is private even with a curtain door. The second bedroom has two twin beds, one bed side table (centered between the two), one fuzzy chair for sitting and a medium closet with a fan, robe and hangers for your clothes. We kept the original bed frames and gave them new life. The two windows are covered with delicate white shades and shear curtains allowing the light to fill the room when its time to wake. New mattresses and foam toppers have been added to all three beds. Light the fire pit and live in or out! There are four wooden outdoor chairs for lounging by the fire pit. Or enjoy your meals outside on the metal table with four matching chairs. Pop open the umbrella for shade in the summer. There’s an old clothing line in the back yard if you so choose to hang your clothes out. Enjoy reading a book in the hammock chair hanging on the pecan tree. There is currently no fence in the backyard. We are hoping to have a nice private fence added some time in 2020. Feel free to roam about the entire back yard. The two corrugated metal buildings that you’ll see near by on the second lot is ours as well so feel free galavant about. The backyard is not a shared space. It’s all for you! The bathroom is cozy with walk-in shower. Toilet and vanity of course! In the vanity you will find some extras in case you forgot. In the wicker drawers you’ll find a blow-dryer as well. Let me know if there is any bathroom amenities you need and I’ll be happy to pick some up at the store for you. We try to keep it stocked however. Enjoy your margaritas in the evenings on the front porch while rocking away in the cast iron chairs. Fall asleep in the hammock forgetting about all those emails you need to send. Walk into town, and have a nightcap at the Capri, El Cosmico, St. George, Judd Foundation, Downtown, or Lost Horse Saloon for a cold beer or into town for Chinati Fest events, or come when just the bunnies are here! Centrally located right in the heart of EVERYTHING!! Leave your car and walk! This darling casita will be a comfortable landing pad for the Marfa explorer with a minimum two night stay on the weekends. Final Note: We like to think of the space like Donald Judd does: It’s not about just the “Art” on the walls it’s about the space as a whole. And we think the space works perfectly as it is. Maybe something isn’t exactly as you want it and maybe your cell service doesn’t work. Slow down look around and take everything in as it is and let that be enough. Say hello to a neighbor, wave when you pass. The desert is harsh but this home provides solitude, shade, protection and peace.
El Cosmico back entrance is just 3 blocks up West Waco, Capri is just behind the house about a stones throw. Walk to Planet Marfa, Food Shark, St. George, Stellina, Al Campo, Bar Nadar, Squeeze, Do Your Thing Coffee, Paisano or pretty much anywhere in town! Rent a bike outside of MPR radio station and explore what Marfa has to offer!
  • Kathryn’s home is very welcoming, has everything you need and she is a wonderful host. She went above and beyond in providing us information about what was happening around town that helped make our stay memorable. Her beds are very comfortable with amazing sheets. I would recommend her home if you are visiting Marfa!

    Sheryle2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so super cute and clean. I was surprised to see it actually looked better than the pictures! We had such a great time in Marfa and that was largely thanks to Kathryn’s great suggestions and keeping us up-to-date with what was open with so many businesses closing and events getting canceled this particular weekend. There’s so much fun stuff to do in town, but we also really enjoyed hanging around the house because it was just that pleasant. Highly recommend!!!

    Katie2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryns home was in a perfect location and it was everything we needed for our trip. She went the extra mile and sanitized every surface amid the Covid-19 virus. Easy to communicate with and provided lots of local info.

    Nicholas2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This house is perfect! So clean and so comfortable. Best bed I've found in an airbnb! We used the fire pit every night and the kids tried to make friends with the neighboring goat and horse. Its location is perfect for walking to town. Kathryn keeps the house stocked with many necessities and she's very easy to get a hold of. She even lent us her bike for a quick ride. We will definitely stay in her homes again!

    Eve2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time staying in Kathryn's home. There were so many thoughtful decorations and artwork throughout the home. The beds were very comfortable and we had every amenity we needed plus a bit more. We really loved spending an evening around the fire pit in the backyard (luckily no burn ban when we visited). The home is very close to everything and exactly the place we were looking for during our relaxing weekend getaway.

    Marissa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with nice decor and plenty of interesting information/literature about Marfa. Easy walk to the center of town. I recommend staying here.

  • Kathryn’s house is located in a great little neighborhood in Marfa. We were able to walk everywhere- grocery, restaurants, shopping - all nearby. The neighbors were friendly and the house was very comfortable. Kathryn provided everything we needed for our visit to Marfa - we loved it!

You'll be staying in a secure and private guest quarters usually reserved for our Artists in Residence. Your private accommodations are inside our main space which is both studio and gallery to local artists. Guests also have exclusive use of one of our two bathrooms plus complete access to the rest of the house and property. Our listing is ideal for those interested in being around art and artists.
Our property was built in 1917 or so as a train depot. There is a massive Great Room that serves as a gallery space and this is your new living room. This main room features 20' ceilings with hardwood floors, electrical floor outlets and a restored tin ceiling. There is a stately wrap around porch and a small upper balcony. The space is home to our annual Marfa Open Art Festival held every fall. The rest of the year we are a community art center and gallery. We host art openings, workshops and performances. Being that this is the old train depot, we sit extravagantly close to the rail tracks and it is common here to remark your speech, should you be in the middle of speaking, with the collective pause ... as the train is given to pulling its signal horn a handful of times while passing through town. We all are quite used to the noise, however some may find it unsettling; it can be quite sublime if you aren't trying to sleep. We have earplugs just in case. We have a fully equipped kitchen that guests are encouraged to use. There is a gas stove, oven, full-sized and separate dorm-type drink fridge too. The covered wraparound porch has cozy seating and the upper deck offers a fantastic view of the lovely West Texas sunsets. We have private off-street parking with the option of entering via a stairs-free walkway. We have an upper loft area that currently serves as our office and guests can use this space as a workstation. We have very speedy WiFi and Ethernet you can use and a printer on site if you need use of one. We have a spacious front yard and a more private side yard that is private and gated. We have an outdoor fire pit for cooler evenings. We are immediately across the street from Porter's Supermarket and most of Marfa is within easy walking distance. Chinati is a few more blocks away and we have a handful of loaner bikes that you're welcome to use too. You'll be staying in a working art space that sees local artists and visitors pass through every day from 11am through 7pm. Before 11am and after 7pm guests will have private, exclusive use of the entire property. Our guests are welcome to join in on whatever activities are happening during their stay and we're glad to help with local tips and events.
Porter's Supermarket across the street. Everything is just a few blocks away. Downtown/Chinati/El Cosmico/Lunch at the Capri / Thunderbird is a few blocks away.
  • The space at Marfa Open is excellent! Close enough to the center that you can walk to lovely shops, galleries or restaurants. The space is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Jason was remarkably helpful in sorting out check-in and sets a new standard for Texan hospitality. I come through Marfa every year, but Jason’s top tips (with directions) made for a perfect experience for those staying for a short or long stay!

    Melissa2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best AirBNB’s I have stayed in. It’s genuinely a functioning art gallery with some touching pieces, and you get the run of the entire place for the night. It’s quite an experience to wake up in the night to use the bathroom, and walk past some phenomenal pieces of art in the dark. Definitely stay here if you are in Marfa

    David2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Seph's space was a welcoming spot during a long road trip back to central Texas. He was prompt with all of our communications and flexible when my girlfriend and I arrived to town a little later than expected. I highly recommend it!

    Sean2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality in a unique setting in a convenient location.

    Marian2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in a room at the one corner of the gallery space. There is two bathroom, kept one for our private use with a key. Also a shared functional kitchen and a separate small refrigerator for guest. The renovation works has been going on in and out, therefore things that clutter a place, but our room was tidy, clean, comfortable. Jason was a great host, kind and very considerate of our staying.

    Booyoung2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect to spend a few days in Marfa even if you consider a long stay I consider it super recommended. The room is very nice and colorful with many small details. The rest of the space allows you to feel immediately within the vibration of Marfa. We were able to park without problems right in front of us and be close to several places and restaurants that Jared recommended on our arrival. The kitchen is super big and you can use it whenever you want. The bathroom is clean and very nice (I loved the pelicans curtain). We could even use a space in the entrance to work, so if you need an extra space to use the laptop or write it is also possible to do it very comfortably. The train tracks are just behind the house so you hear when it happens and sometimes you feel the vibration but it's not annoying and they are so considerate as to leave ear plugs within your reach (that at least we do not We had to use) Honestly we had a great time and hope to return soon. Thanks Seph and Jaredt

The twin sized daybed in the living room doubles as a couch for lounging during the day and sleeping at night. There are extra sheets and pillows located in the bathroom closet. Because we encourage as unplugged of a time as possible, we do not have a television on site. But games and books can be found in the bedroom armoire for old fashioned fun and connection. The bathroom includes a bathtub and shower, and a super fun pink floor. Cozy up in our signature El Cosmico robes, that will make you never want your vacation to end. Sip coffee or a glass of wine on the front or back screened in porch, both feature a set of chairs for lounging or stargazing. Venture deeper into the fully fenced backyard to roast marshmallows and hot dogs over our fire pit. Tree stump seats circle the pit making it a fun spot to gather with friends and family. For comfortable heating and cooling use the remotes to control the mini splits in bedroom and living room. For the few extra cold days we have in the winter in Marfa, there is a space heater to supplement the heat.
The house is located on the quiet West End of Marfa.
  • It is an excellent place, with the peculiar Marfa style, the house is decorated with excellent taste. They have books for entertainment and board games. Even in the outdoor areas it still maintains such tasteful decor. In the patio the view of the stars is spectacular! An afternoon sitting in the hammock enjoying a delicious dinner and the view of the stars. They have everything you need to cook. I highly recommend it. We will definitely go back to that house.

  • Highly recommend staying here! Great location (close to everything), great vibe, and a really fun place to stay! the host had so many additional things that made our stay fun. Hammocks, screened in porch, record player, and games made for a great time!

    Claire2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay and would defnitely come back. The house and backyard are beautiful. It's conveniently located close to everything in town. Absolutely recommend.

  • The Juniper Moon House is a dream spot to stay in Marfa. If it was warmer, we would have been able to walk everywhere we wanted to visit in "Downtown". The whole space sets the tone for your trip in Marfa - most of the smart design accessories in the house are local brands, the house is chill and inviting and the backyard is great for al fresco meals. Booking this spot is a no brainer.

    Lindsey2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Junipermoon House is probably the most stylish and cozy place I have ever stayed at. I wish I could decorate my own home as well as they have. (Each time I go I buy something to try). The backyard has everything you could want: space, fire pit, hammock, picnic table, swing chair, chairs, bubble lights and you can even fill up the “pool” to soak in during the summer. They have a new screened in porch with fireplace which is GREAT for winter and amazing for summer if you want to stay clear of any bugs. They’ve added furniture and a speaker for the porch. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook and the cutest plates and cups bought locally at the Magic Hour Marfa (we went and bought some after our stay). The living room has all the games you would need, record player, speakers, books and a day bed with the CUTEST pillows from Garza Marfa (again, after our stay we went and bought one). The bed had the SOFTEST sheets on the planet (again, went and bought some after I asked what kind they were). I had several naps and couldn’t wake up. The restroom has two robes that are the most stylish things ever (once again, went and bought one). They have all local products throughout the house, from Marfa soap in the restroom and lotions, sprays to pillows, blankets, cups and chairs. While staying here you feel like a local and will most likely leave wanting to purchase everything g they own. Good thing is you can find a lot of it in town! They have a great location and you can ride bikes anywhere you need in town. Some of the BEST places to eat are almost next door and everything else you need is less than one mile away. All of their recommendations are a must do. My husband proposed to me in their backyard, we came back to wedding planning and stayed in their house, we were married down the street and had our first dance alone in their backyard and we just came back and stayed for our babymoon 👶🏻🌙. We can’t wait to bring our son back to Marfa and experience this place too!

    Chelsea2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Magical mystical Marfa! My husband and I arrived on the coldest day of the year, some snow here and there. Meghan was quick in responding how to warm up the house properly and any additional questions we had. The space has a cool atmosphere to it and is carefully styled, which enhances everything. We got a bunch of tips of where to eat, shop and experience and tried as many as possible - all really good! The house is within a walkable distance from everything in Marfa if you like to walk, the town is small, however we had a car to get around and parking was plentiful. We did visit during off-season, but it made everything even more magical! On our last day, the heat came back and we enjoyed most of our time in the backyard, lounging in the sun. Marfa is on our list of places we wanna revisit and I would book The Juniper Moon House again!

    Tessa2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at the Juniper Moon house. Another great experience. Will be back!

  • Fantastic location, super clean and incredibly stylish. The house is stocked with local touches, art and textiles that make you feel right at home in Marfa. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we even made use out of the record player and Sonos system. The Juniper Moon House made our stay in Marfa that much more memorable. Highly recommend and will gladly return.

We appreciated all the touches that made us feel right at home like the organic tea and coffee, filtered water, and the local hand soap. The bed was very comfy and we had a great night of sleep. The casita is also perfectly located to walk around town. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Located in the heart of Marfa, The Lincoln offers all the comforts of a private vacation home within walking distance to everything the area has to offer. Lucky number 7 has a spacious, open-concept kitchen and living area with a separate bedroom, high ceilings throughout, beautiful concrete floors, and lots of light. Enjoy the privacy and the stunning artwork by local artist LeAna Clifton. Accommodates 2 guests.

  • This place was just what we needed after 4 days of camping in Big Bend. The space was fitting and stylish for experiencing Marfa’s culture. Clean spaces and everything we needed to make our time worthwhile in Marfa. The hosts gave great tips of things to do and places to eat around Marfa. My husband and I enjoyed our tour of the Judd Block, learning about the history of some of the design in Marfa. We ate at the Water Stop, Cochineala, and Hotel St George.

This funky container house (FIRST FLOOR ONLY) is on about half an acre and situated less than a mile from the heart of town. Located atop the highest point in town, deck views are primo. It's quiet and very dark; star viewing can't be beat. A fenced yard corrals the pups. Swamp cooler keeps the temps comfortable. Full kitchen and washer/dryer. Early risers can catch the javelinas wandering through the lot next door over morning coffee. Hammock :) Two bikes for your use!
Upstairs is a separate rental. You have full use of the yard and main level decks. Upper deck goes with upstairs apartment.
  • The place is full of charm and perfect for a desert escape.

    Eduardo2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fun, quirky and spacious place! Great location and comfortable space. We loved it!

    Jenna2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. It was our first time staying in a container home and we loved it. The large windows really invite the high desert light and colors which we really enjoyed. The whole place is filled with neat little artisan sculptures and accents. And on the cold mornings the heated floors and extra space heaters were very welcome. We appreciated the thought that went into the aesthetic and comfort of the furniture. We spent a lot of time lounging in the large comfy seat in the living space corner. Given our sensitivity to mattresses, we were surprised how comfortable the bed was and how easy it was to fall asleep. There was even light under the bed that turned on when you got up, which is really helpful at night given how dark things get there. This place is close to everything. We walked to The Get Go (closest thing to a Whole Foods Marfa has). We could and did casually walk to Ballroom Marfa, Judd Foundation, Raba Marfa, Communitie, Inde/Jacobs, Ocotillo Botanica, and generally everything else in the heart of Marfa. Yet it's still tucked away enough that there isn't a lot of tourist traffic. If you can, enjoy the sunrises over the hills in the east and sit on the patio with the lights off to enjoy the milky way at night. Expect a fluffy gray neighborhood cat or a multitude of tiny bird visitors during any of these occasions. If you walk a few blocks you might even bump into a few rogue turkeys.

  • this was truly a dream space. i wanted to have some quiet time to experience the west texas desert and to have as my home base in marfa, and hipping house was so BEYOND perfect. lots of natural light to watch the stunning sunrises and sunsets, comfortable seating and a cozy bed, a fantastic work table, decks galore, heated floors, super stocked kitchen, fenced dog-friendly yard...just perfect.

  • Christina’s ‘container home’ is so unique and stylish that one feels instantly cool and ‘in’ for the weekend in Marfa! I wanted to stay in a funky, comfortable accommodation, and her home far exceeded my expectations, especially on a last minute booking....the bed was AMAZING, and the vibe just so relaxed, it was hard to leave the house each morning. I can’t wait to return! Plus she was just awesome with whom to communicate! A+++++!

    Patrice2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

Unit 2 has a comfortable bed and hang-out space, great compostable paper products and no-waste home and shower products, ample storage space and every amenity necessary for travel. I wish i had written down the name of the artist whose beautiful images of marfa are on the walls of this apt. and are still with me. Adam and Clark have a great thing going here!

  • The Lincoln Marfa is such a fantastic place to stay. The place itself is easy to access and has everything you need. Centrally located in this adorable little town & pet friendly. We especially love that they use local art to decorate the place which only continues the marfa art spirit. This time we had the chance to hang out at the communal fire pit with other Airbnb guests and one of the owners. This made our experience even better! If you’re staying in Marfa... I highly recommend the Lincoln!

This is a private guest suite (bedroom, bathroom, front porch) in a beautiful craftsman home from the 1910's. The room is airy and spacious, with french doors that let out onto a large front porch overlooking a cactus garden and quaint street.
This master suite is spacious and comfortable. You'll have access to a bedroom and connected private bathroom. French doors open out directly from the room onto a private front porch overlooking a cactus garden and the quaint front and side streets. The room is outfitted with a super comfortable king bed, 100% cotton linens, a desk, and seating area with coffee table. In the summer a window unit, fans and lots of screened in windows keep you cool; in the winter a gas space heater keeps you toasty. Please note there is no kitchen access. There is a food/drinks setup with coffee maker, coffee, dry cream, and sugar for the morning, as well as a cutting board, plates, and utensils in case you wish to prepare food. There is not a fridge or stove. Your suite is totally private. It is however a room within a larger and inhabited home. Your privacy is assured, but it's helpful to understand that there is still some level of noise interaction in the sense that if either you or I are walking around, talking, opening and closing doors- we can hear each other. And vice versa.
There is a train that runs through town. It's the reason Marfa exists in the first place! You can hear it! Marfa is just slightly bigger than 1.5 miles square - you can hear this train from literally anywhere in town. My house is quieter than many as we're uphill of the tracks and in a neighborhood filled with trees, but the train WILL come through at night, and you will likely notice it. It's no big deal. It's actually pretty cool. But please do no not book a room in a tiny railroad town and then comment negatively on the fact that you could hear the train.
  • Stylish, very clean and quiet place. Very comfy bed and a good book selection. Perfect to enjoy Marfa. We will again.

This home gets beautiful light and is just blocks from the courthouse and downtown. With 2,000+ SQFT you have room to stretch out and enjoy your stay in the high desert. The vibes are in charge here and they're mellow so come check out when you check in.
This is a 2 story home with a gambrel roof. It was built in the 1940s and is one of two houses of its kind in Marfa. The first floor is constructed with adobe walls and the second floor has slanted walls in the shape of the roof. Downstairs features an entry way, large living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and one spacious bedroom. There is a back porch and nice sized back yard to hang out in. Upstairs has 1 regular sized bedroom and 1 cozy one with a futon mattress in a bed frame. There is a good sized office room with a couch and desk if work needs to be attended to during your trip or to use as an extra sleeping space. There is also a second bathroom.
Our home is near the courthouse square and water tower. It’s very centrally located if you want to walk down to Highland Ave and explore. The great thing about Marfa is that there aren’t really any neighborhoods! The entire town is very accessible by car, bike, or on foot - depending on how you’d like to get around.
  • Great, spacious 3 bedroom, good for families and very close to downtown

  • We loved our stay at the Murphy house! Check in was super easy and the house is in an ideal location! The house itself has a ton of space and a very charming vibe. We got to Marfa as everything was shutting down so it was nice to have such a comfortable home to hang out in while we were there. Would love to come back and stay here again!

    Ashlee2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is THE perfect spot to explore Marfa! The house is located about one block from the town center and had a vibe that just fit the whole experience for us. Super cozy bedrooms all with comfortable beds, artistic and genuine touches throughout the house like a turn table with an eclectic and tasteful vinyl library to choose from to great furniture and books throughout the house. I would strongly recommend to anyone looking to experience what Marfa is really all about...

  • This place was wonderful! Great location, very spacious and a great living area. We stayed in February so we very much appreciated the central heat on the main floor and the space heaters upstairs. At night we loved listening records. Would stay there again!

  • This place checks all my boxes when it comes to what I hope for in an Airbnb experience. So let’s get into it. Even before booking, Alex was very prompt to respond to questions that I had regarding his home. He answered all my questions and was super helpful. Upon arriving in Marfa just getting into the Airbnb was super easy. He left detailed instructions with photos and I was able to quickly and easily get into the house. There were detailed instructions about what to expect within the home. He had a nest air conditioning/heater which kept the home nice and cozy; visiting in February where it was pretty chilly at night and it was super easy to adjust to suit my needs. The entire house was absolutely clean and so spacious and lovely. It was so nice to come there and just relax and spread out. There were so many records to choose from from his selection. I feel like there’s definitely something in there for everyone. The bed was super comfortable and I slept so well. We made use of the grill and the fridge and everything was perfect working condition. I guess this applies pretty much every time you travel, but when you go to Marfa you want to be worry free. It was exactly what this experience was like. I didn’t have to worry about a thing, I felt so relaxed in Alex ‘s space, and he made the whole process super easy and very enjoyable. 15,000 thumbs up. Stop looking. You found your place for your hipster get-away.

  • Great stay! Highly recommend it to anyone heading to marfa. Great home, ambiance and location. Totally worth it.

    Abdullah2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place felt like coming home. There were shelves of books, games, and records we could enjoy. A grill and a nice yard, 3 distinct bedrooms, 2 separate living rooms. Quick access to most Marfa attractions. On the same road that leads to Fort Davis and the McDonald Observatory. Clean with plenty of towels.

Located in the heart of Marfa, The Lincoln offers all the comforts of a private vacation home within walking distance to everything the area has to offer. #4 is very eclectic with lots of creative details, like the lofted hang-out space with pillows and plugs, and the unique "wet" bathroom with floor-to-ceiling tile. Accommodates 4 guests.
  • This place was so cute and roomy! The host was so kind and stopped by to welcome us. It was close to town, easy to find, easy to check in, and plenty of space to park. It was super clean and there was plenty of cooking utilities for us to cook our own meals. 10/10 we would love to come back!

    Kiersten2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Lincoln is a wonderful addition to Marfa. It has a cool vibe, fantastic common areas, and really comfortable beds. Had a lot of fun playing Bocce in the courtyard and hanging by the fire at night. Very relaxing place and hosts were extremely pleasant.

  • Simply perfect!

    Laura2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely experience staying at this compact yet beautifully crafted house. Loved every bit of it . Sally ( the in house dog ) is the most cutest and we enjoyed the time with her. Clean, thoughtful & attentive.

  • Clean and really cute place! Would definitely stay here again!

    Eumie2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a great night in room 4. The Lincoln’s location is perfect - an easy walk to food and more inside Marfa and a perfect jumping off point or destination if you’re exploring nearby parts of West Texas. (We stated our day hiking in Big Bend Ranch State Park, checked in quickly, then headed to McDonald Observatory and never felt rushed.) The decor is amazing (love the yellow doors!), the kitchen is a great amenity, but my favorite part of the stay was climbing into the loft above the kitchen to drink cider and talk to my husband and our friend. The property manager was very responsive early in the morning when we ran into an issue. Would totally visit again.

    Bonnie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely charming spot in Marfa that is within walking distance of great food and drinks, shopping, and art. We loved our time in room number 4, and our only complaint is that we could not stay longer.

Located next door to Donald Judd's old house, you can walk to everything in Marfa from our 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath house! Just three blocks from Highland St., Stellina's Restaurant, Marfa Book Company & Hotel Saint George and two blocks from the best bar (The Capri) in town. A tranquil retreat offering a wonderful experience of the real Marfa. Perfect for a small group of friends, couples and families. Come for a long weekend, and you'll never want to leave.
This 1,800 sq. ft. house was completely remodeled in 2017 with calm, white walls, birch flooring and subtle touches of bohemian southwest decor, highlighted by cozy furniture with an open concept and zero clutter. Jennie was the designer and her elegant attention to detail is evident throughout. We offer top of the line bedding and linens for your extra comfort. Our three spacious bedrooms allows our guests plenty of space to roam, mirroring the outdoor landscape surrounding our beloved Marfa. Private closet space for each room. The two guest rooms have their own private sink with adjoining Jack-n-Jill full shower and toilet. Their is also a separate powder room. (Four bathroom sinks, three toilets, two showers and one beautiful bath tub.) Towels and linens provided, as well as bath, laundry, and dish soap. We have a fully-stocked kitchen for guests wanting to cook at home. Local gourmet coffee is also provided. Access to washer & dryer. In front of the house is the original Texaco gas station in Marfa. It will soon be available for rent as a loft unit. Another efficiency unit will also soon be available. All three units can house up to 14 people. Our unique business Allred Farms will be in the office of this building, as well, and it will provide unique shopping opportunities for guests. Check out allredfarm.com to find out more about us. Check-in is not until 4pm, but you can drop off your luggage earlier if need be, just be aware that our cleaning crew needs five hours to get the house 100% prepared for arrivals. Check-out is 11am. Trains do run through Marfa a few times during the night. So, light sleepers need to bring earplugs. It's a very small town. Anywhere you stay, you are going to hear the train. It adds to the charm.
Marfa is a slow-paced tourist town. Weekends are usually busy while Monday through Thursday are not at all typically. Quiet neighborhood except for the train that passes through town.
  • Super cool house in a great location. We were there during corona lockdown and it had everything we needed to cook meals. Grocery store a couple of blocks away. Sentinel coffee around the corner if you don’t want to make your own. It’s on one of the main streets but it’s Marfa so not exactly a deterrent since not much traffic. We will come back when life resumes after corona and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

    Donna2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean place in a great location and within walking distance of everything you need.

  • Beautifully and thoughtfully appointed. A few minutes’ walk to Marfa Book Company, Moonlight Gemstones, the Sentinel, etc. The kitchen was a dream. The best choice for our stay in Marfa.

  • Accommodating cozy loft conveniently located in marfa. Great host! Caution to those who are tall like myself (5'10") the staircase and upstairs loft bedroom are a head banger!

    Megan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really appreciated Michael's hospitality! He was accommodating and thoughtful. The place was artistic and hip, exactly what you'd expect out a fine Marfa stay. All of his recommendations would helpful as well.

    Robin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for your trip to Marfa. An authentic experience in this Judd inspired bungalow, Michael has created a great space to relax after a day exploring town. The bathroom is spacious and comfortable, the bed loft is cozy, and the kitchen has everything you need to make a great meal. We enjoyed the aesthetics and the welcoming attitude from Michael during check-in. Very close to the heart of town, but with a little more privacy. We loved the backyard and patio too. Highly recommend. We will stay again!

  • I’ve never felt more at home walking into an AirBnb than I have here. The bed is likely the nicest bed within 200 miles, and the huge flatscreen TV makes it even better. Honestly I can’t think of a single issue with this unit. After a long road trip, you couldn’t feel more cozy than checking in and staying at this location. There is a WONDERFUL book detailing the “Marfa Time” that each store opens up in Marfa and there was clearly a thought out process to make the book in the first place. The minimal design is shockingly beautiful when you enter the unit. My girlfriend and I stayed in 5 Airbnb’s prior to this one on a long road trip, and this was by far the nicest one. You will be transported from Marfa Texas to a beautiful minimalist loft in New York or something - this is coming from a Houstonian. 15/5 stars. Perfect in every way.

  • Laura provided an amazing space and great service!

    Justin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Miguel created one of the most wonderful paces I’ve stayed. For my first trip to Marfa, it was my home away from home and a wonderful treat after a long drive from Houston. I spent four days and saw everything the town had to offer. This hidden gem was within walking distance of downtown Marfa but still very quiet. The amenities were adequate and the room was bright during the day and comfortable at night. I definitely recommend and appreciate their hospitality.

    Jennie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Room is as beautiful as pictured! Wonderful communication, great location, highly recommend.

    Stacia2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s place was adorable! She was easily reachable and the directions were super clear and simple for finding the place and opening the key pad. Would have loved to star gaze in the yard if it hadn’t been as cold when we visited. The room is simple but has everything you may need, and is stylish, of course... such is the Marfa way! We enjoyed our stay. :) The king bed is particularly comfy and the location is close to a main street, so it was perfect for the one night we were in town. We even saw some hogs run across the street on our way back from dinner. Super charming place and lovely host. :)

Super cool, comfy loft in the center of everything in Marfa. Shares complex with Do Your Thing coffee, across street from The Get Go Grocery, near bars, restaurants, convenience store. Artistic touches, nice linens, deluxe queen bed, balcony view. Special.
From Texas Highways Magazine: "[In Marfa] signage is more often a reflection of the creativity of the business than a guide for the lost or curious. One such place is The Lumberyard, a collection of studios for painters, artisans, woodworkers, and fashion designer Ashley Rowe ... The happening compound is also home to the Do Your Thing coffeehouse ... " The Loft at the Lumberyard is a unique and uniquely Marfan place to stay right smack in the middle of everything in town. Though the balcony faces the courtyard, the Loft door is hidden down a private alley by another gate (you'll have this key, too) to the main alley which is a half a block from the drag and directly across the street from our gourmet natural food store and wine shop, The Get Go Grocery, as well as Ballroom Marfa, one block from The Pizza Foundation, The Lost Horse Saloon and Marfa National Bank, and within two blocks of Cochineal Restaurant, City Hall, Marfa Hardware Store, Stripes Convenience Store, and much more -- it really is the ideal location in town (make sure to check addresses of listings that say "walking distance"). The space was one half of the lumber storage building at the old Corder Lumberyard and Hardware store that existed for decades in Marfa, The stylings inside, like the whole Lumberyard, are minimalist-industrial. The spine (the ceiling joists, loft structure) was built around instead of removed. You can see where the racks were pulled apart and the wood re-purposed (for the balcony and the Do Your Thing kitchen counter, for example). Many of the fixtures and touches are built with black pipe from the Corder Lumber and Hardware store. The large metal casements windows are from the site. The tables where built on site. The red Mexican cement tiles in the bathroom and shower were on site. And all of the art was created in Marfa, most on site. The mattress is a brand new all-natural memory foam and the linens are excellent. The couch is a fold down if you have an extra guest. There's a speaker system to plug your iPod or computer into and a record player with a few records. The WIFl is robust*. You have your own private entrance in the alley and you can unload directly in front of the unit. Currently there are three painters, a fashion designer, an architect, an interior designer, a writer and a filmmaker using workspaces in the Lumberyard compound. Your balcony is over the courtyard where they come to work and from it you can see Cathedral Mountain to the SE and far across the McGuire Ranch South towards Mexico. Again Do You Thing coffee is operates out of The Lumberyard and is just a few steps away. Symphonic, ecstatic, coffee. The giant courtyard and shade structure can fit hundreds for events, making The Lumberyard an all-inclusive place to meet, eat, throw a party and sleep right in the middle of town. Email for event pricing.

  • Without a doubt, this is the most incredible place to experience.

    Nate2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do it justice! The views are breathtaking. We had an excellent time. The house is so unique and spectacular showing 360 degree views of the mountains. Definitely worth the drive! We will be back! Michael is an excellent host with great communication. He even called the house when we arrived late one evening to make sure we made it ok.

  • Great host and amazing location

    Hunter2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • I agree with all the positive reviews regarding Michael and his place. I would add that the details reveal Michael to be a connoisseur of architectural design, the arts, geology and local history. The property is a personal expression of someone who has a deep understanding of what is worth valuing.

    Dwight2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was truly magical. You couldn’t ask for a better location to escape and enjoy the views in the silence of the desert. It was beyond my expectations. I wish we could have stayed for a week. We WILL be back as soon as possible.

    Megan2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this home has been on my bucket list for *years* and it was even better than my wildest dreams. Everything about our stay was fantastic - no photos of the house or the views even do it justice. The home is full of stylish and thoughtful touches and Michael is a friendly and welcoming host who replies quickly.

    Tami2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Michael`s place is like visiting a friend`s house up in the desert. The place is every bit as amazing as it looks on the pictures, if not better. The house provides everything you need, the location is great. You simply cannot beat the views of the night sky and the sunrises / sunsets. Michael is super-swift to respond and great fun to meet. We will definitely be back!

Carefully cultivated, artist-designed retreat set on the grounds of a larger studio compound. Ideally suited for couples and solo travelers, this beautifully renovated guesthouse features a luxurious sense of space and light and a thoughtful approach to modern, sustainable design. Elegant living areas combine industrial architectural elements and materials with artworks, antiques and other handcrafted fixtures and furnishings. Overall, a unique and refined take on the Marfa casita experience.
The Gem brings a unique and highly refined sensibility to the Marfa casita experience. An ideal retreat for discerning couples and solo travelers, this beautifully repurposed industrial space exudes understated elegance and a highly refined minimal sensibility. Tastefully-appointed accommodations feature custom-built furnishings, fixtures and a selection of paintings and film. Restored family heirloom antiques and salon-style sofas lend a Haute Bohemian layer to the pared-back modern/industrial foundation. Outdoor terraces and gardens provide serene areas for sunbathing, stargazing, communing with local hummingbirds (or the occasional lizard or roadrunner) or taking in one of those sublime West Texas sunsets. Overall, a luxe little sanctuary for elevated and artful living. Location Set on the grounds of a converted corner Texaco station, the Gem is part of a larger residential compound. Hosts occupy the large art studio/residence out front, which shares the backyard garden, but guests may have full privacy if required. Accessed via a discreet side entrance, the actual casita is completely hidden--and sheltered--from San Antonio Hwy, which lends an idyllic, secret-garden-hideway vibe. Accommodations A contemporary take on the traditional "casita" guesthouse, the Gem resembles a modern-industrial cabin or bungalow-style lodging. It's a long, linear (one-story) building constructed from unadorned metal panels, wood trimming and other fairly modest, locally-sourced materials. This understated exterior, though, belies the home's elevated design and luxurious sense of space, readily apparent once you step inside. There's an open-plan, pied a terre-style layout--comparable to an oversize suite at a luxe boutique hotel and best-suited for couples or solo travelers. Though the structure is large enough to accommodate additional travelers/sleeping areas (and probably exceeds that found within a number of multi-bedroom rentals in Marfa), the owner maintained the original open-concept format to enhance the building's strong light, expansive lines and palpable sense of space. Stylish sleeping quarters with a Queen-sized bed (featuring a bespoke handcrafted frame and side tables) comprise one distinct side of the space, along with a living room/front sitting parlour. Two rows of books, including a number of first-editions and out-of-print titles, lead out from the bed area, providing a seamlessly smooth segue into the media room. Separated by a narrow porcelain-tiled hallway, the other side offers a bright, airy kitchen/dining area, appointed with a mix of French Regency antiques and modern appliances. Artful Living Since opening in late 2014, the Gem has quietly acquired a reputation for its sophisticated, highly refined interior design. NYC artist/owner Michael Boisson ((URL HIDDEN) oversaw--and actually completed-- every aspect of the casita's renovation, applying a painterly level of attention to such details as light, color, the type and texture of materials used, overall compositional balance and harmony, etc. With an emphasis on long, clean sight lines--enhanced by the building's open-plan layout and surprising, almost luxurious sense of length--and inviting, uncluttered living spaces, the overarching character connects with the region's minimal, pared-back sensibility. Yet individual details and touches provide a more interesting and highly personal take on "New Marfa Modernism." The final result offers up the same subtle---yet compelling--beauty and layered complexity characteristic of Boisson's own abstract canvases (many of which are hanging throughout the casita). Sustainable Design Philosophy Sustainable building materials and practices--including greywater reclamation and state-of-the-art LED track lighting--were incorporated at every stage of the renovation. Unlike other high-design Marfa homes, there was no massive overhaul of the building's original structure and framework, no expensive shipment of outside materials and labor. Rather, the owner chose to keep the casita's simple (relatively modest and unpolished) industrial-metal format, finishing out the interior with locally-sourced aluminum and Baltic Birch lumber, concrete, reclaimed timber (abandoned at the site of a local construction site) and other salvaged/repurposed materials. In other words, he valued an economy of means as well as style, in the true minimalist tradition. A neighboring architect supplied several rough-hewn doorways while the sconces and other antique furnishings and fixtures are restored family heirlooms, many originally belonging to the owner's grandfather, a sea captain for Lloyd's of London. Bathroom walls--and hallway siding trim--were refinished with recycled ceramic tile (another leftover from a local building job) and the hand-cast concrete sink rests on top of a beautifully corrugated, repurposed old metal shop desk. Along every step of the way, we strove for a balance between aesthetic refinement and principled conservation. We believe the property's overall sensibility reflects this elevated approach both to design and to life, in general.
The Gem is located on the western side of downtown Marfa on the grounds of a former corner Texaco station (specifically the corner of San Antonio Hwy and Ranch 2810, aka. Pinto Canyon Road). We're a short walk away from all the galleries, restaurants and other attractions of downtown central but slightly removed from the occasional hustle and bustle. Today the roadside station building houses the owner's painting studio and main residence and is something of a local landmark, known by many a longtime local as the old Alex's Texaco. The guest casita is located behind this front building amidst the property's idyllic backyard gardens. It's completely sheltered from the highway and feels much more peaceful and residential. A perfect basecamp for travelers seeking convenience and easy access as well as a sense of escape. Of note also is Ranch Road 2810, the road intersecting with San Antonio Hwy. If you head south along this road (and it actually goes all the way to Mexico) about 30 miles in, roughly where the pavement turns to gravel, it turns into Pinto Canyon Road, largely regarded as one of the state's most scenic roads/backroads and one of the region's most popular backdrops for photo and film shoots. Also home to the famous Chinati Hot Springs, which you can visit for the afternoon if you call ahead to reserve. There's also a fantastic dirt walking path running alongside the train tracks on the road's northern end--really opens up as you head west toward the cemetery for that that just-me-and-the-wide-open-desert-expanse experience. Area Highlights and Attractions: Stripes--just a few doors down. Fulfills function of late-night corner bodega store (for the urbanite crowd) and is highly convenient if you need any last-minute snacks or other essentials. Moonlight Gemstones: Located caddy-corner from the Gem. Authentic arrowheads, local Agate (and other geological treasures). Owner skilled in lapidary and silversmith arts. The Capri: New lunchtime hotspot/town's de facto cafeteria located in the stylishly landscaped courtyard of the old Thunderbird Restaurant. Open everyday. Food Shark: Recently relocated (during construction of new Highland Ave hotel) behind owner's after-hours spot, Grilled Cheese Parlour Grilled Cheese Parlour: After-hours lounge/hipster clubhouse with "grown-up" grilled cheese Boyz 2 Men: Popular breakfast taco truck with scruffy hipster appeal set in beaten-down dirt yard/"experimental social space" Airstreamland. Cochineal: Discreet courtyard restaurant holds serious foodie cachet, largely regarded as best dining spot in town Marfa Museum Thrift Store: Not quite Buffalo Exchange but they carry a wide range of used (and downright battered) goods, including books, vinyl records, housewares and furnishings, Kaulfield Park: Pleasant community park just behind road, on other side of train tracks. Excellent view overlooking downtown from hilltop beside entranceway. Jackrabbit sightings here last summer. Porters: Can never compete with Get Go (especially in produce dept) but there's a decent wine/craft beer section (some Napa Cabs) as well as larger selection of beauty/health aids than at Stripes. Also Vernor's ginger soda and large selection of Jarrito's plus delicious El Senor rice pudding.
  • We loved staying here! You can easily tell every decor piece was carefully thought out and the overall vibe is amazing. Location is great and it is easy to get to all parts of town. Would definitely love to come back!

  • An excellent place to stay in Marfa! The casita is stylishly appointed and a stone’s throw from all the town has to offer. (The great book collection is worth mentioning, too.) Thank you Michael and Kat for your warm hospitality — We hope to be back soon.

    Danny2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful layout and really convenient location. Marfa is small so everything is close by. It’s on the Main Street so very accessible to restaurants and bars and other attractions, but quiet enough at night to hear the wind and rain. Great lighting and decor inside the casita. We loved the bookshelves and the music selection. Water heater worked well too in the middle of the winter! Really enjoyed our stay there. Thank you again!

Stay in the first house that Donald Judd lived in with his family upon moving to Marfa: an updated serene and spacious retreat in the heart of town.
This beautiful two bedroom home is bright, airy and well-appointed. Judd style furniture by local Marfa fabricators mixed with mid-century modern. There are two bedrooms, one doubling as an office, a shared bathroom, fully outfitted kitchen, dining room, and living room with TV. There is also a fenced in back yard for pets.
Quiet neighborhood a short walk to galleries, restaurants, and bars.
  • What a great spot! Walking distance to some great staples like Stellina and Hotel Paisano. Great space and super comfy beds and linens. There is a Nest thermostat that apparently had been pre-set...so our 65 degree heat randomly shot up to 74 at 2am and 1) scared me cause it was loud when it turned on and 2) made my room a hot box. So, just make sure you check the settings for an optimal stay. Everything was spotless and cozy. Would definitely stay again!

  • Very accurate representation of this roomy, stylish home. Beds and linens were super comfy. Climate control was easy. I wouldn’t say the location is the most walkable but definitely possible on nice weather days. We just preferred to drive since parking was easy. Loved the kitchen! Easy peasy access and quick communication from house manager. We enjoyed our stay very much and I will recommend this home to anyone headed to Marfa!

Casita 1314 is a small, original century old adobe home on the western side of town. The 1 bedroom home was completely renovated in 2016 with all new doors, windows, ceilings, electric and plumbing. The home provides an authentic and relaxing experience of Marfa and the surrounding landscape. Walking distance to the center of town is approx. 15 min. and driving is 5 min to anywhere in town.
The open kitchen / living room is cozy and furnished with sofa, dining table and three chairs, small refrigerator, cooktop, counter oven, coffee maker, and assorted kitchen essentials. There is also a wood stove in this space. The bedroom has a brand new queen size memory foam bed and adjacent bonus room has one twin roll - away bed -- both with brand new sheet sets. Four pillows complete the bedding. Bathroom with sink, toilet and stand in shower.

    Andrea2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this little home!!! It was quiet and decorated very well. I wish there were instructions or extra communication on how to use the furnace and logs to burn. It was pretty chilly at night. The host was very accommodating and responded quickly. I have nothing bad to say! Great rental price and located close enough to all the fun stops. There’s a really good restaurant walking distance called “water stop” (i think) and it was AMAZING! So happy we were That close.

dü•en•dā : the spirit of evocation, a physical response to art Duende is a slice of real-life Marfa, well curated but also designed to be lived in and enjoyed. Situated in a peaceful neighborhood just eight minutes from the heart of downtown, Duende is excellent for groups or those traveling alone - a perfect home base for creating and exploring in the Big Bend region. Chill out in the hammock room or cozy up in front of a fire in the the great room! This home is family and pet friendly.
Duende Marfa was originally built in 1945 with an addition in the 1980s that created a floorplan for entertaining. The home was recently updated throughout for comfort but retains the old school charm and character Marfa is known for. The master and second bedroom both have king sized beds with cotton sheets and down duvets. The third bedroom features two twin sized day-beds, and the hammock room also has a twin daybed to sleep a seventh guest if desired. The guest bathroom is a jack-and-jill between bedrooms two and three, and features a stall shower. The master bathroom is a full bath with tub, as well as a bluetooth speaker. Both bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The kitchen has been updated with all new Samsung appliances and features a gas stove. Sufficient cookware to prepare most meals is in the cupboards. There are two living spaces, the large great room has a fireplace for cold nights as well as a 4k smart TV equipped with Roku and DishTV. Finally, a hammock hangs in the room right off of the kitchen, perfect for reading or enjoying a glass of wine.
Duende Marfa is located in the North West Washington Heights neighborhood of Marfa, TX. We are only an 8 minute walk from Marfa’s main street and also 1 block away from beautiful ranch views that look west. It is very easy to walk to any of Marfa’s fantastic restaurants, and equally easy to take a stroll under the stars away from city lights. We are located on a hill with some distance from the train tracks, so the neighborhood is quieter than other areas in town.
  • Spacious and fun place to stay while in Marfa.

Corte del Norte is a compound of two houses with a fabulous shared courtyard. Our outdoor spaces are unparalleled in Marfa (because of the altitude Marfa has great year round weather) and Corte del Norte is within walking distance to all of Marfa's shops, galleries and restaurants. This house (Rock City) and the Love House share a stock tank, dining shed and other outdoor spaces which make it perfect for groups plus each house has their own semi-private outdoor spaces.
The Rock City House has one bedroom and one bath along with a living room, and kitchen. This home sleeps 4 with one queen bed in the bedroom and a custom Garza Marfa sectional sofa made with two twin mattresses in the living room. If you need more beds....please see The Love House at Corte del Norte. You can also check out our Corte del Norte site. Corte del Norte has been designed by Jamey Garza and Constance Holt Garza of Garza Marfa. The outdoor spaces are unparalleled at Corte del Norte and if you're like me, you'll want to be outside all the time! We have a private outdoor dining table outside the kitchen of the Rock City House; an adobe and glass dining shed with a 9 ft. dining table and tulip chairs, fireplace and bar; AND you'll love cooling off in our stock tank "pool". It's a great place for parties and events and we can send our event policies in advance. Event fees and an additional deposit apply for parties of 10 or more. Please contact us and we'll help you plan a special birthday party, anniversary or wedding. Since Marfa is at 5,000 ft elevation it has an average highs in the upper 80's and lows in the upper 50's in AUGUST with no humidity....we have plenty of blankets for cold summer nights! Located on HWY 90 at the corner of Dean and San Antonio, Corte del Norte was home to the 'mother of West Texas Tex-Mex' according to Robb Walsh in his book, The Tex-Mex Cookbook. From 1887 until 1987, the Old Borunda Cafe served both locals and movie stars alike, including James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor during the filming of Giant. Now home to the corner stores including Cobra Rock Boot Company, Se Vende, Smilebooth and the Cody Barber gallery. Corte del Norte is a great location!
Below is a random list of fun facts. Lunch: Food Shark – a food truck (excellent food for lunch). Other food trucks are available Pizza Foundation is fantastic but only open on weekends. Dinner: Make reservations at Cochineal, Stellina and the restaurant at Hotel Saint George. Also, there’s Jetts Grill in the Paisano hotel. Tours: Book the short (2 hour) guided Chinati tour – worth it to understand marfa. The Judd “block” tour is fun (judd’s home) every afternoon. Book in advance: Chinati through Chinati Foundation and the Block through the Judd Foundation. They both have a variety of tours. These are just my personal favorites. Shopping: Freda (tiny and funky) Mirth (almost everything from Japan - exquisite...some local artists work too) Garza Marfa - (furniture and textiles) 3C - modern furniture and art Marfa brand soap Cobra Rock Boot company – they are in Levi’s boutiques El Cosmico and Thunderbird have tiny, cool gift shops Galleries: Just walk around. Don’t miss the $40Million worth of Andy Warhols (down the street from Mayias). High quality minimal art go to 2D gallery and Inde Villis. Wrong is a great gallery as well. Artist will often open their studios if you want to buy. Random: Many movies have been filmed in Marfa: Giant, There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Dancer Texas, etc. However, one is a must if you want to take the #1 National Geographic drive. It¹s Kevin Costner¹s first movie. Fandango. It¹s a coming of age movie about a group of friends that graduate from UT and the next morning they leave to go dig up the bottle of DOM they buried after High School graduation out in West Texas. It's an hour and half drive there. I highly discourage you from going across the border. The drive through Pinto Canyon (FM 2810) is amazing. If you go far enough (2 hours) you'll make it to the Hot Springs - fun! We have a miniature whole foods called The Get Go. It¹s essentially across the street from Corte del Norte. And a liquor store (used to be called El Cheapo and then they sold it and renamed it). I refuse to call it anything but El Cheapo. It's now called Celebration. Coffee is at Frama and across from The Get Go in The Lumberyard is Do Your Thing Coffee. And they have toast in the a.m. too.
  • What a special and beautiful spot! We loved staying in Rock City at Corte del Norte for our first visit to Marfa. Not only is the apartment spotless and impeccably designed, it is so thoughtfully stocked with details such as extra soap, thick towels, cushy terry cloth robes, plenty of pillows, great books and art and every thing you could need in the kitchen. We were there during a cold spell in February and were thankful for the heaters in each room and the extra down comforters. The first night we were woken up by the trains and trucks passing by but made use of the white noise machine every night after and it was just fine. We look forward to coming back in warmer weather and taking advantage of the beautiful porch and garden spaces. Truly a spectacular stay!

I was literally taking pictures of the interior for inspo :) Jacqueline is awesome, quick to respond and kind. I would book this spot again, the location is amazing and the backyard area is beautiful etc. All around 5 stars.

  • La Escapada was the perfect retreat for our family to relax during our stay in Marfa. Ken has done an excellent job with this space and was overly responsive to all of our questions. He also provides several great suggestions to maximize your Marfa experience. If you are planning a trip to Marfa, don't look past this place... we especially enjoyed the oversized backyard for evening fires and stargazing! Well done, Ken.

  • We had a great stay here!! Ken was a very attentive host. The space was gorgeous, very clean and a perfect fit for our family.

    Angela2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ken's place is so beautiful. The photos perfectly represent the space. The amenities were on point, with just enough of everything you need but not too much. Sheets and towels super high quality, like everything else. Check in was super efficient. The bikes were a huge plus for us. Be sure to bring helmets!

    Kelly2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house providing privacy and a cool and peaceful vibe! Loved our stay!!!

    Kaki2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ken’s place provided the perfect backdrop for our Marfa weekend. The space is even more impressive than the pictures suggest, and Ken has provided lots of thoughtful touches that make the space feel like home. The house has a great location near most local restaurants and watering holes, but the space is so relaxing that you may be tempted to stay in, build a fire and take advantage of the amazing kitchen.

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot if you are coming to Marfa. The space feels new and clean and very much in the spirit of the place. Ken is a really accommodating host. And the bathtub is particularly amazing.

  • Our stay here was truly magical. It was everything we could have dreamed of for our trip to Marfa and more. From the excellent lighting to the gorgeous kitchen to the fantastic bed and bath, our senses were elevated just being in the home. I highly recommend La Escapada and cannot wait to return!

Located in the heart of Marfa, The Lincoln offers all the comforts of a private vacation home within walking distance to everything the area has to offer. Tucked away under a tree in the back courtyard, number 11 is a quiet, intimate crash pad. With sophisticated furnishings, lots of greenery, and a sweet record collection, you'll quickly call this your home away from home.
  • We LOVED the location. The space has a cool/retro motel feel fitting for Marfa. The location was central, the level of details wonderful, and they left a fire pit going at night. Also, the radio stations were some of the best I’ve listened to. Adam also was accommodating when we wanted an extra hour to leave in the morning.

  • Cutest room ever. Will definitely return!

  • Excellent spot, we loved it!

    Alex2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Lincoln is great! Awesome location w/ cozy and hip rooms. Plus one of the best hot showers I’ve had in marfa! Sally (geriatric cocker spaniel) was sweet and popped in frequently!

    Branson2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Walking distance to the galleries and restaurants of Marfa and nicely tucked away. Really captured the essence of Marfa with their attention to detail and design. I would definitely stay here again next time I make the trip out west.

    Jonathan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This unit is tucked in the back of the property and has its own little porch area, making it feel nice and private. The place was super clean and the kitchen is truly stocked to cook. We visited Marfa during the slow season (mid-week in January!) so we basically camped out at the place and cooked. Easy walking distance to shops (when they're open), a great bakery (The Aster) and laundry. Absolutely recommend.

    Arielle2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Let me just start by saying, book this right now! The Lincoln was better than we ever expected - it was so spacious, was walkable to restaurants and coffee shops (it’s literally right in downtown), and we loved getting to wind down by the fire pit in the evening. If we come back to Marfa we will definitely stay here again.

    Johnna2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place and will be back again when we can spend more time. So well decorated and thoughtout.

Minimalism meets eclectic chic. Fully appointed for comfort yet lightly decorated for an open, bright & clean look. Fresh white walls and antique long leaf pine floors with and open floor plan, plus antique fixtures, vintage and locally fabricated furnishings, and thrifted art. At the center of Marfa and walking distance to nearly everywhere!
Casa Lincon is in one of the best locations in Marfa. It is one block away from the gorgeous courthouse, the historic Paisano hotel, and several restaurants. Within just 2-3 blocks are several galleries, more restaurants, and unique retail spaces. This is the the front half of a historic home that has been renovated. It is completely separate and private from the the other half of the home. It opens onto one of the main streets of Marfa and you can see the courthouse and iconic Marfa water tower from the spacious front porch. Once you step inside it feels private and secluded. Parking is available on the street directly in front of the house. We love animals, but unfortunately we do not allow pets - no exceptions - in order to accommodate those with allergies. Thanks for understanding.
  • This was my second stay at one of Gory's spots. The house was in a perfect location, super clean, and had everything we needed. Gory is quick to respond to questions and sent updated information on things to do and places to visit in light of local closures due to COVID-19.

    Sarah2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. You can see the county courthouse and the Marfa water tower from the front porch. Even being a one bedroom, the house is bigger than I thought because of it’s open floor plan. The yard and front porch are very minimal but acceptable to me. Rory was great to deal with. Absolutely easy and clear communications. I got the great Marfa experience I wanted and Rorys place definitely made it possible! Will be staying again.

  • My best friend and I made a trip to Marfa for spring break and got the chance to stay here. It was so nice, clean, and very closely located to the shops and restaurants in town.

  • Had such a lovely overnight stay, I booked very last minute but everything was ready, clean and welcoming upon my arrival. Gory was quick to respond and accommodate me on such short notice. The house is spatious and walking distance to the center streets of Marfa, walking distance to Marfa Ballroom, Marfa Book Company, the public library as well as the restaurants and hotels on Highland Ave.

    Lara2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • First time in marfa, it was great having a place close to the water tower, courthouse, and walking distance to the so many places.

    Corey2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Location, style, easy access and comfort. We loved Gory's place, especially for its central location, comfortable bed, linens and blankets. Would stay again.

Located in the heart of Marfa, The Lincoln offers all the comforts of a private vacation home within walking distance to everything the area has to offer. #6 gives you central access to both courtyards, featuring original built-ins, a mix of hardwood and concrete floors, and a shiplap ceiling. Contemplate an eclectic variety of art throughout. Accommodates 2 guests.

  • We SO enjoyed the space. Loved the kitchen and the local coffee and having some basics to make some snacks and drinks with. Very cozy!

  • This place was the cutest! My husband and I decided to have a relaxing night in Marfa after 3 days in Big Bend and we couldn't have asked for a better spot! The decor was so cute and funky and the whole room was sparkling clean and cozy:) We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the fire pit and bocce court on site! Highly recommend staying at the Lincoln! Unrelated side note to anyone visiting Marfa for the 1st time- it seemed that the town kind of closes down from Sunday to Tuesday. We were there Sunday night to Monday morning and there were a few things open for sure but a majority of the shops and galleries we wanted to visit didn't open until Wednesday.. We still had a blast and loved our time there but it's something to think about when planning a trip out there:)

    Ellen2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A cute and fun place right in the mix of downtown Marfa, within walking distance of the majority of the bars/restaurants. The hosts were amazing + very responsive. The location is a fun community of other Airbnb’s with fire pits, so you have the option to mingle and make friends around the Marfa stars! Definitely will be back!

    Rebecca2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Lincoln is a beautiful space. The kitchen had plenty of counter space and an awesome stove perfect for home cooked meals. The room was clean, comfortable, and modern. Within walking distance to everything in Marfa. Will definitely stay here again.

  • I’ve stayed at the Lincoln twice and both stays were stellar! Clark and Adam are wonderful hosts and any questions and concerns are addressed quickly! The rooms are gorgeous and decorated as though Judd himself renovated it. I would recommend to anyone!

  • We loved everything about our stay at the Lincoln! Any request or query were had was answered promptly and warmly. Everyone we encountered was incredibly nice and welcoming. The place itself was a dream- #6 had every amenity we needed - lots of warm blankets, storage, public good toiletries (I'm a fan now!), a hair dryer, space heater, lots of electric outlets, lots of channels to choose from, a fire pit with firewood, and every dish/utensil you need in the kitchen-- and even coffee and creamer! Its very centrally located and easy to walk anywhere. We will be back!! Thank you!

  • The Lincoln is wonderful! Stylish but comfortable and functional. Spacious but cozy. Great location. Super easy check in and check out. Very responsive and helpful hosts. It was perfect. I cannot wait to go back.
