Sunsets in Hot Tub, Cuddling to a Movie, Comfy Bed for Romance, Fishing. Come make yourself at home in our cabin on West Rush Lake, just 1 hour north of the Twin Cities. Get a break from the busy schedule, the to do lists and enjoy some much needed relaxation in peace and quite. Enjoy a huge screened in porch with the hot tub. Bring your pups and your kids to make more memories away from home. We would be honored to provide a get away for you to look forward to every year.
About us: HI! My name is Bree and my husband's name is Shaun. We are in our mid 30's, we have 2 kids, Mariah-7 and Emerik-5. We live in Wyoming MN which is 45 min from the cabin. Its been a life long dream to own a cabin and blessed to be able to have one. Because we have young kids, we do not get up there every weekend in the summer and not at all in the winter. We would love to be able to provide a getaway for a family or couple to enjoy fishing, hot tubing, campfires, sunsets, swimming at our cabin when we cannot. I hope you enjoy and come back again. :)
Cabin is located at the end of a short street on a dead end road. Very quiet and peaceful.
  • Great stay

  • Great Location, Great Amenities and a quick and easy check in process. Would highly recommend to anybody looking to enjoy a great time on a beautiful lake.

  • Breanna's place is a cozy house right on the edge of a small lake with lots of peace and quiet. Plenty of beds as well as futons and couches for sleeping arrangements. All of the beds my guests used were very comfortable. Kitchen is great with a dishwasher that works well and a nice stove/oven. Hot tub was great of course, just note that the lid is heavy to open. The neighbors are within view and there are no significant trees between, but they were quiet. The house also has lots of large windows and a few sliding glass doors to let in natural light, if that is important to you.

  • A great cabin in Rush City MN- comfortable, cozy with all the amenities! Breanna is a great host and kept in communication the entire stay :)

  • If you are looking for a fabulous lake place close to the cities this is it!!

    Molly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was a perfect distance from the cities and just remote enough for what we needed. There was plenty of space for activities, my dog loved the fenced in yard, and the hot tub was an added bonus!

  • Dorothy's Cabin is a perfect get-a-way from the Twin Cities. The kitchen is well-outfitted. It's a kitchen one can really cook in - plenty of pots and pans and such. We decided not to bring our own games and had a great time playing Quirkle. There are many other games in the cabinet, especially for families with children. The couch is so comfortable and cozy and looks right out onto the back yard and then lake. We delighted in watching the squirrels running along the maze of branches, and saw several different kinds of woodpeckers. (We left our games at home, but made sure to bring our binoculars!) A night hike on the frozen lake left us mesmerized by the night sky. There were plenty of towels both for showering and drying off after soaking in the hot tub. The hot tub cover is heavy, and at first we weren't sure we were up to the challenge of getting it safely off and back on. Once we got the hang of it, though, while heavy, it was totally possible. Our dogs loved their time watching "squirrel tv" out the windows, snuggling up on the couch, and playing in the living room. We had a wonderful time, made some great memories, and look forward to coming back.

This is a beautiful river front vacation home about 70 minutes from the heart of the Twin Cities, that is decorated and designed with relaxation in mind. You can enjoyed the beautiful view of the river while you relax over a hot morning coffee, or as you sink into the overstuffed furniture with popcorn and a hot chocolate in the afternoon. All rentals come with a complimentary muffins for breakfast, coffee, tea and hot chocolate to enhance your experience.
This little country retreat is located on a country dirt road with little to no neighbors which makes it very quiet and private. The little town of Pine City is only about 4 miles away and the community is friendly and welcoming. Chubby's Grill boasts one of the best Bloody Mary's around which serves like a meal and tastes great. We are surrounded on one side by the river and behind us is all wooded county property. It's the great getaway experience that you will love.
It's a safe, quiet and friendly neighborhood, where most people enjoy the outdoors and lazy days floating on inner tubes or kayaks down the river. The neighbors in town and on Copper Canyon road are friendly and helpful and happy to fill you in pool n all that Pine City has to offer
  • Sandra's place is great, everything was clean and felt like home!

  • Beautiful and comfy cottage and so quiet. Perfect for escaping.

    Caren2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy’s cabin was the perfect winter getaway. It was great for us and our pup, and was very roomy and stylish. The views of the river cannot be beat, I can only imagine how beautiful it is in summer! Sandy was very accommodating and responsive.

  • Clean, secluded, little cabin with lots of windows and light. Perfect for a relaxing getaway, at any time of year! The place was very clean, and had everything we needed to make our own meals. Just about 10 minutes out of Pine City, where you can buy most anything you need.

    Louis2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin SO CUTE and inviting!!!! Not only is it decorated cute, but it's really nice too! Jim & Sandy did a really nice job with the style of it. LOVE that floor & the kitchen is beautiful as well. And that view! <3 <3 It was so wonderful that it felt like home/our own cabin because it was so cozy. They are so generous with everything and all their things and their hospitality is beyond words. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice little private getaway without having to drive that far. And it's so affordable! They have done a great job with this little piece of paradise. So pet friendly. Along with the beautiful views and super sweet touches, you will find board games, household items, the hot tub, comfy bed and furniture, everything, except 1 closet of personal items, is there awaiting your use. There is everything you could need to cook, do laundry, relax, enjoy the outdoors, and more. It was hard to leave to return home! Thank you again! XOXO

  • Beautiful place to stay, we really enjoyed the hot tub and the amazing view of the river. Great location away from everyone but close enough to town to eat or get anything you might need. We really enjoyed the public beach in Pine city and how close we were to State parks.

    Katie2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Sandra's bungalow. It was homey and very comfortable. I really liked the screened porch. Perfect place to play board and card games. Sandra also had a nice selection of games. The kitchen was stocked with some essential items for cooking, which I appreciated. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Joseph was thoughtful on behalf of his guests. We felt well cared for even though they had never met us. "Nana and Papa's" place was tidy, peaceful, and full of character. It is a nice distance from the cities for a weekend getaway, but quiet, and close enough to state parks and other great locations for day trips. We enjoyed spending part of a day at the beautiful Kettle River in Banning State Park very close by. Our hosts also provided plenty of suggestions for local fun in Finlayson. Overall, it was very lovely and cozy (but spacious too) for our winter getaway.

    Greg2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable place, great location, wonderful hosts.

    Brian2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were welcomed by Joe's hospitality and the house was exceptionally well stocked with all the comforts of home. Definitely be back again and eager to bring our family.

  • An awesome retreat with wonderful hosts. Everything needed was provided along with many little details and amenities that made the stay very enjoyable.

    John2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a good weekend in or a touch of home for a weekday, you’ve found your place! Mel and Joe are great hosts, private yet hospitable; they are as involved or uninvolved in your stay as you’d like. The place itself is very Minnesota-esque and truly feels like home (your grandparents’ place in the best way possible). The hosts included great touches, such as instructions for the TV, seasonings & small snacks, and sensible toiletries. Would recommend staying here!

Lindisfarne is located 75 miles north of the Twin Cities in East Central Minnesota on 80 acres. The Tower is just one of 3 Cabins we have here on the grounds. Enjoy a walk through the woods on one of our trails, relax in the Chapel or enjoying a fire in our fire ring. Lindisfarne is an ideal location to just get out of town for a couple days.
While staying in the Tower which is named for the corner tower overlooking ur fields. The open spaces are yours to enjoy as you walk amongst our 100 year old White Pines.
We are surrounded by lakes and rivers, the Grand Casino in Hinckley and some historical places in the area. Here are many golf courses and excellent fishing. Excellent restaurants if you love to go out to eat.
  • Great place. Nice, quiet, cozy and clean. The bell tower is especially charming.

    John2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lindisfarne is a wonderful country retreat spot. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and the comfortable space. The design of the cabin is thoughtful, with the surrounding nature as the focus. The big picture window highlighted the night sky, and we enjoyed beautiful views of the moon and shooting stars. The fireplace and the heated floors made for a very comfortable and cozy winter getaway. Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • We enjoyed this cabin and it’s surroundings a lot. It was cozy and had all the amenities we needed and we cooked in the whole time. The loft was comfortable and great for reading or just relaxing. I’d book again for the peace and quiet in a cozy cabin not far from the cities.

*Completely remodeled in 2018, this cabin has 130 feet of direct frontage on the Snake River. Gorgeous wooded acreage gives privacy and the up north feeling, yet is less than 1 hour from Minneapolis, and 10 minutes from historic Pine City, a great place to shop and grab a bite to eat. Use our kayaks or tubes to float down to the St. Croix River, or hang a fishing line out and see what happens!
Located just feet from the Snake River, this completely remodeled modern cabin has breathtaking views and space to spread out. Level shoreline and a place to tie up your canoes or kayaks make this a relaxing retreat. Large deck with a grill and a firepit overlooking the river make hanging out fun and easy.
A quiet gravel road feels like the middle of nowhere, yet town is only 10 minutes away.
  • Had a wonderful time over the weekend at Tracy’s! Peaceful and quiet retreat from from the cities.

    Hailey2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot to get away with your pooch — very comfortable, clean, and perfectly nestled in the great outdoors. Nice creature comforts but also very simple. Tracy is very straightforward and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

  • Amazing cabin, So peaceful and relaxing, very homelike feeling. With nature all around. It was clean and We will definitely visit again!

    Tracy2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check in, provided movies, the fireplace made it very cozy during the cold winter months, provided shampoo and conditioner was a bonus because I forgot mine! Comfy bed too! The WiFi was a little slow so don’t expect it to be just like at home but we barely used it anyways. It was a wonderful and romantic weekend getaway. 5/5 stars! Cant wait to come back for the summer to see the river unthawed and have a fire!

    Makenzie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin sits very close to the river and large windows provide a great view from any place in the living area and main bedroom. The fire pit sits at the river's edge and twice we saw a fox trotting downriver while enjoying an evening fire. The area was very quiet and peaceful in winter, with many of the cabins not being occupied during the winter season. The road and driveway were both well maintained with the snow cleared for easy driving. We would definitely stay again!

    Mark2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful slice of heaven!!! The views were spectacular, the cabin was amazing and comfy. All the Comforts of home but in a cozy cabin in the woods. Totally recommend staying here! The price was great and Tracy is a great host!!!

    Scott2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a literal gem - close to the twin cities, on a beautiful river, next to so many fun things to do! We came for the second time, again in the winter. We cross country skiied in Cambridge on 2 local trails that were spectacular and also skiid at Wild River State Park which was also incredible! We love the cabin, watching the river is captivating, the fireplace is wonderful , floor to ceiling windows are amazing!

    Barb2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is perfection. It’s supplied with anything you could need and it’s location is absolutely breathtaking! Tracy was very quick to respond to questions. Couldn’t ask for anything better. If you don’t find tranquility here, you won’t find it anywhere! Can’t wait to go back!

New 520 sf 'not too tiny' house on 20 wilderness acres. Year 'round hot tub. Dog friendly. RV & EV plug. Firepit. Your Snowshoe Creek and Little Wood Lake trails. Free canoe, kayak, paddleboat. $30/day mini-pontoon boat. Fishing. Internet. WiFi. AC. Gas Fireplace. Sleep by Number. Lovely bathroom. New gas stove. Ice maker. 2 TVs. 3 towns + Burnett Dairy/Bistro, 4 golf courses, DQ to fine dining, mini-golf, antiquing, multi-theater, Siren beach & 'Music in Park'. Wildlife! You'll return.
This is like nothing else you'll see or visit on this entire site. Experience the art of living more fully by cutting off commonality and grow emotionally by getting back in touch with unfettered nature. Sit and lean up against a huge tree just feet from the spring-fed creek and watch it flow over the sandy bottom even in the snow of winter. 'Now you're talkin' - without saying a word. Be quiet enough to hear the owl or loon sing right into your soul.
We live across the creek and upstream yet far from you. Why after traveling the world did we end up here? Handy to the grandkids in White Bear Lake, yet a rare and raw piece of wilderness. For you? Close enough to get here quickly. Yet, an environmental 180 to put life back in balance. Hopefully, you'll find it hard to leave and easy to come back for another recharge.
  • This is BEST place I’ve ever stayed at. Even better than the pics. Dave is extremely polite and helpful. It was the most peaceful place. Can not wait to go back, never wanted to leave. 😍

    Tanya2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you want privacy this is the place. Use of the property grounds and trails. The tiny house is super with all the homey touches. Your host is great and alot of knowledge of surrounding area.

    Sandra2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I took my girlfriend here for a little getaway before we both start working heavily. We absolutely loved the location and the tiny cozy cabin feel. Dave gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and where to hike. We will definitely be visiting again.

    Devin2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was my third time back, and my favorite retreat to escape life for a few days. I could never get sick of the beauty, the tranquility, and the experiences of being out at Dave’s place. Exceptional in every sense!

    Jenesa2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is lovely! The hot tub and gas fireplace make the space cozy and comfortable even on the coldest nights. We loved hiking around the property and the proximity to the Burnett Dairy Co-op, Brickfield Brewing and other hiking opportunities. Dave, Kathy and Cooper were welcoming hosts. Can't wait for our next visit!

    Ruth2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to relax and unwind or go out and explore depending on your mood. Was great for a girls trip!

    Michelle2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house was awesome! Very relaxing and just what we needed. We will definitely be back and hopefully for a longer trip!

    Kristy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival we stopped at t dawgs for lunch then picked up a frozen homemade pizza from the Burnett dairy store along with some cheese and meat sticks made locally as well. Dave welcomed us on arrival and gave us many tips and trick of the area. Provided us with a useful map of the land. Place even came with coffee for the morning! We enjoyed our little weekday getaway here with ice fishing on little wood lake with our dog and a relaxing hot tub to end the night. We woke up had coffee and went to this cute little cafe for breakfast called country cafe in town. Hope to plan another trip soon! Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing get away in the woods even the dog loved it!

Beautiful house built in 1912, refurbished back close to its original glory with up to date kitchen. It was the 2nd house built in Askov for the banker. Original pocket doors and trim put back in the house. I still have minor renovations to do such as cleaning the trim and pockets doors, and finishing the 3 season porch. If your looking for a stay closer to Duluth, please check out my Brookston Bungalow located in Brookston MN. Please note it's $25 per person per night after the first 2 guests
House was built in 1912, the second house built in the town for the banker. It was completely gutted in 2017 and remodeled. Original trim along with 2 sets of pocket doors were put back in the house. Two of the original windows were kept in the house, one in the dining room and one in the living room. I still have details to finish such as cleaning the woodwork, finishing the 3 season porch but most of it is finished. I do have RING security on the premises that alerts/records the entrances and driveway for security for my guests. It also allows me to know how many guests are arriving. I have everything for you to enjoy your stay, including condiments, shampoo and conditioner. All you need to bring is the food and your clothing. Audubon Center of the NorthWoods is 16 minutes away.
Quiet neighborhood that has a little of everything. Grocery store, bar/grill, pizza place, gas station. Nearby Sandstone (6 miles) has Hard Water Sports with climbing tours, rafting and tubing, Robinson Quarry Ice Park, Banning State Park. Askov was the Rutabega Capital of the World and all the streets are named in Danish. The 4th weekend in August is the Rutabega Festival.

  • We loved our stay at Brenda's! The house was beautiful, clean, quiet and had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here; we are already planning our stay for next year!

  • My husband and I LOVED this house. The price was right, it’s not far from Duluth, the city is so cute, and the house... The photos do not do it justice. It is historic yet beautifully restored with a modern kitchen. It also has so many interesting spaces to explore. Brenda’s decorating taste is impeccable and the little touches she added like shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotions, bottled water, coffee, hair dryer will help you to pack light. The bed was so comfy. The shower was luxurious. My hair looked great and my skin glowed. We are already talking about when we can come back!! Plus, I want my mom to stay here. She’d love it, too. Thank you!

    Kimberly2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We are repeat visitors to Brenda's house for a reason! Brenda is a wonderful and generous host, responds quickly, and makes your stay very comfortable and easy. Her renovated historic home is incredibly spacious and very cozy and she has provided everything you'll need, and more! Brenda's home is located in a great spot too. Check out Banning State Park which is minutes away and enjoy the beautiful trails through the woods and along the picturesque Kettle River. The Pioneer Museum in Askov is fascinating too, if you enjoy history and perusing historic artifacts. Thanks Brenda for another great visit to the Askov area!

    Kathy2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb, and I was a little anxious, but it was wonderful. Brenda has a gorgeous home. It's warm and comfortable. My dog also loved it. We travel to Minnesota about once a month, and have stayed at hotels. This was far better than a hotel. I felt safe and comfortable. Thank you so much!

    Annie2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • I found myself just simply enjoying the beautiful work of restoration of this older home. It is a homey atmosphere in a cute small town in the north woods of Minnesota. Everything was provided. Directions for use were clear. Communication with Brenda was awesome. I couldn't have had a nicer stay or experience. I highly recommend staying in her home. Oh, and the bed I slept in was very comfortable!

  • The rooms were spotless, and the beds were comfy, and the heated floors were dreamy! We appreciated Robin's warmth and kindness. She shared her just-out-of-the-oven pear cake with us--divine! She dug out muck boots so we could take a walk down to the river, in her beautiful back yard. Everything was just right! We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Wonderful space to relax and refresh for the night. The beds were soft and comfortable. I got the best night's sleep I've seen in quite a while too! My room was stocked as you'd find at a higher-end hotel- coffee pot, snacks, fridge. Fresh homemade cookies were awesome! The bathroom was clean and organized too. Shower has great hot water and really good water pressure. Very relaxing experience. I arrived with my RAM 1500 truck and 12' V nose enclosee trailer. Plenty of room for me to pull in, park and turn around as needed. With also ample light to see at night when unloading. I travel up this way threw out the year, and will definitely be back for a stay!

  • Robin’s Place was perfect for our needs. We just needed a place to crash the night before the Mora Vasaloppet race, with adequate room to organize our gear. With that in mind, it was better than a hotel room at twice the price. There was just two of us, so we had more than enough room to spread out our gear. If we had four there would been still plenty of room. Real convenient to be able park right outside the door for loading and unloading. Bathroom was plenty spacious, allowing room for dressing as well as the usual. Great plus was the provision of basic breakfast foods (Fruit, oatmeal cups, Clif Bars, tea & Coffee) and toiletry items. Robin’s place is a bit off the beaten path, but for many that’s a plus. The house is situated on a beautiful wooded lot. If you are hungry, you don’t have to go all the way back to Mora. There are some good restaurants nearby on Hwy 65.

  • If I could have given 6 stars, I would have. The stay was very clean, spotless. There were snacks/fruits/coffee on the dresser, and shampoo/toothpaste/toothbrush in the bathroom if we'd forgotten anything. Speaking of the bathroom, best water pressure in any Airbnb stay I've experienced! Their dog was friendly, and quiet, and kept sperate from the rooms until we just had to say hello. The rooms/beds were very comfortable, as well. This place worked perfect for our needs.

Built in 1961, the house still has some original features that may give you a nostalgic feeling; wood paneling, brick wall fireplace, faux beams and acoustic (popcorn) ceilings. Mixed with vintage and retro furnishings and decor, you might experience childhood memories of growing up in the 60s or 70s. There is a game closet full of games, a piano, two large T.V.s, WiFi, blue-ray players and a gas fireplace to help create a relaxing, comfortable stay.
Step back in the past and make yourself comfortable in our retro inspired home. For those that lived through the 60s & 70s, the fun and quirky decor may trigger memories of childhood and simpler time.

Remote, tranquil, quiet and exceedingly private getaway right on the banks of a protected river, only 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities! Even the beautiful drive there is relaxing. Enter a world of peace and calm deep in the woods. Make delicious meals in a well stocked high-end modern kitchen, play in the river, relax in the sauna or enjoy a bonfire. This is not your typical cabin but a spiritual eco-oasis with a unique eclectic blend of modern, rustic, Native American and Japanese aesthetic.
UPDATE: We are paying extra attention to cleaning and sanitizing this space. Our housekeeper Joann takes great pride in making sure every surface is sanitized for your safety. I have also reduced the price to help those in need of a place to self-quarantine. This is the perfect getaway, remote yet accessible, to get out of harms way and stay safe for a few relaxing days! Modern yet rustic, but not at all primitive, the cabin was built not only for maximum energy-efficiency, but with much care in providing a safe, non-toxic, all-natural environment. Comfortable sleeping spaces are provided with several options including a small private bedroom, a large futon in the living room under the skylights by the wood stove, or a small futon on the screen porch by the banks of the river. An easy scenic drive from the Twin Cities and its extremely tranquil and private setting, this is the perfect location for personal retreats for artists, writers, yoga practitioners, people in the healing arts or anyone in need of personal, spiritual or artistic creative rejuvenation. This is ideally suited to singles and couples looking a quiet getaway or personal retreat. Perfect for a romantic getaway! The long winding driveway leads to secluded, heavily wooded grounds that have many Japanese garden touches but are kept in a mostly natural state. Facilities include a large well-stocked modern kitchen with 6 burner professional stove, full bathroom with hot and cold running water and claw-foot tub (there is enough hot water for a shower but not enough to fill the tub unless heated supplementally on gas stove), gas heat, electricity, phone, wireless high-speed internet, modern wood-burning stove, 7 skylights, wood-fired sauna, screen porch on the river bank, an attached wooden deck with gas grill along the river, a gazebo (great for yoga), hammock (great for reading/napping), a large fire-pit with lots of wood provided, photo library and a high-resolution audio system with a great CD collection and wireless music streaming capabilities. This forest oasis alongside a protected trout stream is surrounded by hundreds of heavily wooded acres. Enjoy the rarity of total privacy- no one else is within sight or sound. The Trade River is very clean with a nice shallow, sand bottom is perfect for swimming, wading or frolicking. Or just sunbathe on the dock, clothing optional! • All electricity is produced by solar farms and bought from our local electric co-op. • All cleaning supplies are natural, non-toxic, chemical and dye free. • All new linens and towels are organic cotton (some old ones still in use while we phase in) It is built to accommodate more than 2 people but I like to keep it available for solo retreats and couples rather than larger groups. There is also a separate hand-built log cabin on the premises. The log cabin will not be occupied during your stay but can be rented additionally at https://airbnb.com/h/authenticlogcabin. To maintain a retreat-like atmosphere we only allow one or two guests at a time. Also, due to past guest abuse, we no longer allow pets. If you are traveling with pets or have more than two guests please check out my other nearby Airbnb cabin: the Wood River Retreat https://airbnb.com/h/woodriverretreat "Retreat to move forward" -Pico Iyer
Located far off the road at the end of a long winding driveway. While lake cabins can be like being in a goldfish bowl with no privacy; we have total seclusion on the river with no neighbors within sight or sound. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest filled with many deer, fox, owl, wild turkeys, coyotes, otters, beaver, the occasional bear and much other wildlife.
  • A perfect get-away. My second time here and plotting to come back. Thanks Doug!!

    Kindra2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to relax and grow! Waking up to rain on the skylights, deer drinking from the river, or wild turkeys walking across the lawn, each morning brought a new connection to nature. Truly a fantastic experience!

    Amanda2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • It’s hard to even know where to begin, since this was one of my favorite Airbnb stays to date! Doug’s cabin is filled with thoughtful touches that helped us have a very relaxing, restful weekend. We loved cooking meals in the well-stocked kitchen, listening to music on the super high quality sound system, and gazing out at the river while lounging on the cozy futon. The sauna and wood stove are a nice addition. Everything is so well-curated that it feels like home. Thanks, Doug!

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We've been visiting this cabin during the first week of March for 3 years now. Being less than a 1.5 hour drive from the Twin Cities, it's accessible in the winter no matter what the weather has in store. The space feels so cozy and clearly reflects host Doug's artistic and soulful aesthetic. The open floor plan has an oversized professional kitchen / dining room which opens up into a relaxing sitting area. This space has a wood burning stove, stereo and sweeping views of the river, the forest and the sky. This is a rustic retreat. You are going to be conscious of conserving water because of the noisy water pump and various notes reminding you of this endeavor. However, this is all part of the charm of the space. If you consider on-site compost, a wood burning sauna and calming spaces to meditate in as amenities (as we do), you're going to find a vacation spot that you'll want to return to indefinitely.

  • Beautiful and rare quiet, truly quiet, setting.

    Laura2020-02-28T00:00:00Z

  • This was a wonderful get away from the business of life. Such a wonderful space to become one with nature and reconnect with ones self or a partner. The cabin was so unique with art, music and nature brought into to the space to help make one feel grounded & peaceful. I loved the extra’s like the yoga mats!! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful get away. Thank you.

    Kellie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • In a word. Perfect! Clean. Quiet. Beautiful. Spacious. Calming and relaxing. We took advantage of the beautiful kitchen. The wood burning stove. The sauna. The stereo system. Just a perfect getaway to relax. Unwind. Unplug. And get engaged. Literally. And figuratively. Thanks Doug. This was a wonderful experience.

  • This is a GREAT guest house with wonderfully kind hosts. The hosts live in a house that is yards away from the guest house, so you have the benefit of genuine privacy within the guest house, coupled with the convenience of having hosts very close in the event a need would arise to hail them. I stayed there in the winter (January), so it was obviously quite cold outside. I was gone during the day and kept the thermostat down pretty low. When we'd get to the guest house in the evening we'd turn the thermostat up and it would warm up really, really fast. There is a big window with a beautiful view of the lake. It's in a gorgeous location, and only 2 or 3 miles away from Moose Lake. Excellent location! Everything works, place was very clean, beds were comfortable, bedding was great, towels were soft, etc. I stayed at the guest house for the better part of a week with my 27 year old daughter (we were in town to spend time with a close family member who was at Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake) and both my daughter and I absolutely loved being able to unwind in the evening at the guest house. I would stay at this place again and/or recommend it to others without hesitation.

  • David is awesome! Extremely helpful and kind. The place is very clean and cute! We will definitely be back, probably in the summer time to enjoy the sunshine and amazing view of the Lake!

While being on a lake can be like being in a goldfish bowl with no privacy, our river setting has total privacy and has no other homes within sight. The cabin sits atop a beautiful ravine along the Wood River. There is a nice wide path along the top of the ravine that leads to a steep rope-lined incline down to the river, get for the adventurous to explore! The cabin is approximately 1.5 miles from the St Croix River, a Nationally designated Wild & Scenic River. Canoe and kayak rental services are available only one mile away on Hwy 70. Grocery stores and restaurants in Grantsburg are just a mile or two east. Crex Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary draws people from all over the country for spectacular bird watching and is just on the other side of Grantsburg. However, just staying home at the cabin around a coxy fire and chilling out or adventuring down the ravine to the river is also a great option.

The cabin has literally everything you’d ever need, down to soda pop in the fridge. The whole place is clean, the amenities are high quality, and the setting is as serene as it gets. We simply didn’t want to leave. We can’t wait to return next year!

    Erin2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful getaway. The cabin was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Very clean. It was so relaxing, the lake was like glass. Very quiet, not a lot of boat traffic. I would highly recommend staying here

  • We had a great time. Nice place to take the family.

    Jason2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great home that worked well for two couples and one 9 month old! There was a crib and a pack and play to chose from which was so helpful. Also toys, books, and a high chair for baby. Tyanne was very prompt with any questions we had. This is true cabin living with a beautiful view of a lake. There were canoes but we didn’t have time to take them out! Off the beaten path... down a gravel road but does have neighbors close if you’re looking for more of a private experience.

Beautifully designed year-round home consisting of a renovated 1940's log cabin attached to a larger dwelling with two and a half baths, loft, living room and full kitchen. Swimming, boating, fishing are available in the summer. Ice fishing, snowshoeing are available in the winter. Abundant wild life in the area, beautiful sunsets, relaxing atmosphere with large windows looking out on lake-shore on south and east side of the house.
The space is adaptable depending on guests' desires and preferences. I will communicate regarding a booking to be sure that our place meets your expectations and needs. You are welcome to use the kitchen - and there is wood available for the wood stove - But please be careful. I ask that you take sheets off the bed when you are leaving - leave them on top of the bed along with any other linens you have used. Generally I will not be physically present during your stay, but can always text or call me with questions. And our guest hosts - the Mossbergs- are in the area and available for specific needs or questions.
This is a quiet neighborhood - most neighbors are seasonal and not present during the winter months. Moose Lake has some interesting places to visit - If you have time, the museum is worth your time - and I would recommend checking out Joe Jitter's - a coffeehouse on the main street of town - as well as The Lazy Moose Restaurant. Our place is well suited however for time away from the stress and “noise” of life in a busy urban area. Here you can relax, read, take walks, receive soothing calm from the beauty of nature that will surround you.
  • This place was a beautiful retreat!

  • 5 stars! My son and I stayed here for the weekend during a hockey tournament. Everything about this place is exceptional including the communication with the host. I would love to experience it in the summer if I have the chance. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking into it. Even on overcast winter days the scenery was nice.

A cozy cabin with country charm on the bank of the Bear Creek in Cloverdale, MN! The 588 sq ft cabin has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, livingroom, a beautiful stone gas fireplace and pine wood floors. Outside there is a new six person hot tub and a fire pit with wood. The cabin is located midway between the Twin Cities and Duluth on I 35. And just nine miles east of Hinckley on Hwy 48 in Cloverdale. Come and leave the stress behind as you slow down and unwind on the bank of the Bear Creek
I do have a Kerig available and a coffee pot. I will have coffee available but you may want to bring your favorite. There's a slow cooker, pots and pans...hopefully everything you might need. The furnace is new and there is a smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the living room and smoke detectors in the bedrooms, along with a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. Towels Smart TV DVD player with a few DVD movies Wifi Hot tub: Please note That there is always the chance that the hot tub may need to be serviced during your stay. It can happen that after inspecting the hot tub when guests check out, we need to empty it, clean it and then refill before the next guests can enjoy it. If you should notice that the water in the hot tub has turn cloudy at all, please notify me right away. Two bedrooms: one with a queen bed the other has a full size bed. I do have a twin mattress tucked under the queen bed. There are spare sheets in the bottom drawer of the dresser for all the beds if needed. Fire pit with firewood
There are many activities available to do during your stay with two casino, a state park(largest in the state), a golf course, movie theater, museums, fishing lakes, fast food restaurants and bars all within a few miles of our cabin! There is a more descriptive list posted in the cabin.
  • Great little spot in Hinkley. St croix and banning state park a short drive away, or the casino is up the street. The hot tub was out favorite part! It's a Minnesota cabin so don't be afraid of additional house guests, Kathy does everything she can to keep the mice out buy keep your food packed up or in the fridge just incase. The beds are nice, the futon couch is pretty uncomfortable so do not expect to sleep on it, additional twin bed is a nice touch! Breakfast pizza in the freezer and a pizzaz is a thoughtful addition, tasty too! Case of water in the fridge was very nice, the water is rather "sulfrey". Would recommend and stay here again!

    Holly2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little cabin with the best hot tub in the Midwest!

    Charley2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great little relaxing place not far from I-35 and the casino. Clean, comfortable and the hot tub was great!

  • This is a wonderful stay in Hinckley! We loved the location and how clean the cabin was upon arrival. The cute little cabin offered great amenities and the hot tub is a perk. Kathy communicated very well with us and we loved the atmosphere the cabin had to offer for a getaway from the cities. Overall, this cabin is a great get away and we hope to come back soon!

    Sammi2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place. It was a nice quiet getaway!

    Lezlie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quick getaway for me and my fiancée. Great location out of the twin cities only 1 hr 40 min drive to get to nature. Just outside of Hinckley so 9 min drive into town to get coffee. Place was very clean and perfect for just us two. The hot tub was amazing and seemed very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Owners have Netflix and Hulu and dvd and some good movies. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to escape the twin cities and head up to some nature. St Croix ST Park is only 10-15 min drive from cabin. Will stay again!

    Ray2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at this cabin. It is exactly as described and is just like the pictures. It is not a large cabin but it is two rooms. We are a family with a toddler and it worked perfect for us. We felt like it was a great price for the cabin with a hot tub. It is only 6 miles from the state park and we had a great time there. The beds in the cabin were very comfortable and the whole thing was very clean. It would be really tight if you actually wanted to sleep 6 people but there are enough beds to do it. We would definitely recommend it.

    David And Rena2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for a weekend to celebrate our Anniversary . The cabin is Cozy and Relaxing. They had everything we could have needed and more. Even put a Breakfast Pizza in the freezer for us. The outdoor Hot tub was sparkling clean. The entire cabin was immaculate. The fireplace was great to sit in front of and watch a movie. And tons of stuff nearby to keep us entertained when we wanted to go out on the town. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Whether you need relaxing, or relish fishing, hunting, navigating Wisconsin ATV trails, or biking the Gandy Dancer, we hope you will enjoy our family friendly getaway in the North woods. It is a peaceful place away from the city, where you can bask in the beauty and serenity of the outdoors. From cozy fireplace to wrap-around deck, there is an abundance of enjoyable space. Our home is great for couples, families with kids, small groups and retreats—pets are welcome. Get outside & enjoy!
-North Woods Family Getaway is unique because we have benefited from an extended family of gifted builders, designers and restorers, who have contributed their skills to make our place comfortable and homey over the 12 years since we’ve owned it. We enjoy family gatherings when family members can be seen playing a game of bocce ball or croquet in the yard or chatting on the decks. Children have plenty of space to play and are very welcome. -We have a small section of an ATV/Snowmobile trail which runs through our land, a little distance away and out of sight of the house. -The Gandy Dancer Trail for hiking and biking is just 1/3 mile away. From there you can explore 20 miles of trail just in Burnett County. -Lakes and Rivers are nearby with public access points available. -Fox Run Golf Course and Sand Greens Country Club within 5 miles. -We are located close to WI-35, which makes us easy to find, offers convenience and is helpful in the winter because the roads are regularly plowed.
Our house is located at the head of the 8-mile 'Rustic Road', designated as such due to the scenery, which includes lakes, forests, rolling hills and a picturesque farm. It's great for bike rides. Hundreds of miles of Wisconsin DNR designated ATV and Snowmobile trails are available from our property.

  • What a lovely cottage! Though it was spacious, it had a homey, cozy feel. It was also spotlessly clean. The wood-burning fireplace in the Great Room was such a wonderful treat, and it burned beautifully! We so enjoyed the view from the Great Room - windows galore! We show-shoed from the backyard, through the woods, down the road a bit, and onto a small lake. All of the people we encountered were super-friendly - from snowmobile riders, who slowed down and waved when they saw us, to folks driving by, who also waved a friendly "hello," to the women at the Log Cabin Store and Restaurant, who served us with cheerful smiles.

Very clean with new flooring and no carpet. This space includes the following at no additional charge: WIFI, 4 kayaks, 1 canoe, 2 paddle boats, some fishing poles, some lawn games (bocce ball, crochet, ladder golf, and corn hole), indoor games and puzzles, cable TV, gas grill, air conditioner, dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer. It is also fully furnished including linens, towels, dishes, and pots/pans. Beach towels and life jackets are provided as well. PONTOON BOAT: Available at $200/day rent which includes a 6 gallon tank of gas. It is located right next to your own private dock in the pontoon boat lift. (See listing photos and here is a 5/24/19 guest's review!! "You will not be disappointed. This place has it all. It's close to amenities and other cabins but it's a fenced and gated peninsula so it feels secluded and secure. Bring the children. We spent three nights and our wild bunch never got bored even without ever turning on the TV. Paddle boats, kayaks, a canoe, yard games, two fire rings and the pontoon boat. I so wish I could post a picture of the pontoon, it's the most beautiful little boat I have ever seen. Jim is a true craftsman. Every detail of the restoration is perfect. Every time we took it out we felt like an Oriole in a flock of sparrows. At night it just glows, Jim added LEDs under the canopy and also above the pontoons. Everything is so clean and expertly maintained, the house, property and equipment. One thing I was suprised about is that they didn't nickel and dime us. They charge just enough to make it worthwhile so the value is amazing. I know I've paid twice as much for half the fun. Thank you Jeanette and Jim. We never do the same thing twice but for this we will.")
The location is just 5 miles off the freeway for easy freeway access yet far enough to be quiet and peaceful. This place is in a secure location with a fence and gate. Please note that we are not responsible for weather conditions, lake conditions or acts of nature. We have a very strict no pet policy. There are pet boarding facilities close by.
  • Had a great time! Quiet and very clean. Lots of activities available at the Airbnb from kayaking to bean bag toss. They have firewood available for purchase and you definitely get your monies worth. Would stay again.

  • Our women’s softball team was a little nervous on how we would all be accomodated being there were 17 of us.....Yes 17! Jeanette was wonderful in responding to every question we had before we even booked! The property was just as described and every question and request was amost immediately answered upon our arrival... they even pulled out an extra full sized refrigerator for our large group to use! The property had ample space for our 6 vehicles and 20ft camper. We made use of the assortment of yard games, lake floaties, and the beautiful pontoon! Not only did we each have our own set of plush towels laid out for us (bath and beach), the linens were top quality and the whole house was squeaky clean! This was the perfect place for our group and if i could give it 10 stars i would! Would definitely recommend and stay again! Thanks Jim and Jeanette for sharing your property with us!

  • This rental was great for our group of adults who wanted a relaxing weekend away from the city. The house sits on a hill with direct lake access. The beach at lake isn't huge but we used a couple of big rafts and floated past the dock. Water is only maybe 4ft deep off the end and is a sandy bottom so perfect for hanging out. The house itself met all of our needs. Large patio sets were perfect for eating meals and everything we could have needed was in the house and well labeled. No complaints from us!

    Sara2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, stocked with things to do, and sleeps 11. Make sure to bring water to drink. Jeanette is very friendly and won't stop short of making your weekend wonderful!

  • Amazing space and location. Such a great bonus to have the boats and water toys available for use. Great service, communication and accountability. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Don’t pass this place up... you will not be disappointed. And make sure to catch the amazing wildlife, fishing and wonderful sunrises over the water. Can’t say enough about this place. Great work!

  • This large mobile home has more space than you think. Great for a group of 8 over a long weekend. The water off the shore is great- weed free soft sand. Kayaks, canoe, and paddle boats make for a good time on the water.

It's generally quiet here however, being mainly a second home area, summers and weekends tend to be busier with activity. Neighbors are located to the North and somewhat further away to the South through brush and trees. Also there are homes dotted along directly across the river. All are less visible when the leaves are on the trees. There maybe occasional additional noise when four wheelers go by, or during hunting season. This is most apparent on weekends.
  • My husband , one year old daughter , 2 dogs and I had a magical stay !!! Cabin was better then pictured and clean and cozy. We loved hearing the river rush and enjoyed many outdoor fires. • Such a cute little cabin, perfect for a couple or even a few people. Off the beaten path and is perfect as a hunting cabin or just a little private get away. It is a great value and the hosts are amazing and flexible. quit looking, and book this one !!

    Jenna2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cute and cozy. The host was easy to reach. It was a very relaxing space, my friend and I really enjoyed it and would definitely come back again!

  • Peaceful location and great host, just as described and just what we needed

    Bill2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place to stay! It was so quiet and clean! Definitely would go there again!

    Alanna2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very secluded in the woods. So many trees! Would not recommend staying here if you plan on driving back and fourth to Duluth... it is quite a drive. Other than that, the cabin was very simple and clean. Enjoyed watching a movie one night with the movies they provided. Amazing place for a bonfire.

    Erin2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place to rest and relax then this cabin in the woods would be perfect for you. A beautiful setting where all you hear is the rustle of the leaves and bird chirp here and there. Quite peaceful and calming. The cabin itself is clean and spacious with everything you need from a full size refrigerator and stove to pots and pans, separate bedroom and large living/dining area. Tricia was a wonderful host who always responded quickly and made check in a breeze. She was so very kind and shared some wonderful produce from her garden too! We had 3 great days there. Should we ever be back in the area we certainly would look to book Tricia’s cabin in the woods again.

    Pamela2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a scenic and private getaway, Tricia is the perfect host for you. She was absolutely fantastic.

    Anthony2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't realize there was access to the lake. That was a pleasant surprise. We snowshoed and/or cc skied on the lake every day.

  • Very pretty during the winter. Spacious kitchen and living room. Would definitely come back!

  • The house was perfect for our big family. The kids loved the game tables and the big yard to play!! The kitchen was fully functional and made it easy to prepare meals. Plenty to explore. A great get away!!

    Amy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely beautiful cabin. Tucked away behind a tree arch driveway your first sight of the cabin was just breathe taking. Down stairs are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Upstairs has a bedroom and bathroom. Had a little hiccup and Mac took care of it immediately. Communication and response was fast. Verizon and AT&T were the only 2 cellphone service we had and that was about 1 bar. Short drive to stores if you need groceries. Big Box store 26 miles away. Remember bug spray as the mosquitoes are viscous. And bring your camera as deer come right on the property. No AC but a small fan in each room with windows open kept it quite comfortable. If your looking for a quiet getaway this cabin is a must.

    Melissa2019-07-30T00:00:00Z

  • 12 of us had a reunion at Andrew's lake house and we had a wonderful time - plenty of space for all of us to hang out and catch up. Andrew was very responsive. We also borrowed Andrew's pontoon and took it out on the lake which was a lot of fun. Beds were comfortable and clean. Highly recommend for a large group, remote getaway.

    Erica2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place was really quiet and it was a very relaxing place to stay. The kayaks and pontoons were great amenities. The living room was very spacious and fit 12 people comfortably.

    Nino2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew is a great host. The house slept 9 adults and 3 kids comfortably. It could use a bigger table, but we made it work. The house is as good looking as the photos show it. Easy to get to, near enough to town and far enough away to be quiet at night. Reasonably priced too! I would recommend Andrew and this house to anyone.

    Myron2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was exactly what we were expecting and appropriate for what we paid for the stay!It had everything a group our size (with kids) needed, without unnecessary luxury. A great cabin experience! Andrew was responsive and attentive with the few questions I had during our stay.

    Heather2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous place for family or families. Utilize the pontoon rental on site as it adds a fun element to the stay. There is plenty of space inside and outside of the house for kids to play. Everything was working well and things easy to find.

    Aimee2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great Property. Nice and private large backyard. Spacious cabin with many comfortable beds to sleep in. The only thing unexpected was the smell of the water was a bit rusty. Overall, Andrew was a great host and was very responsive to any questions we had. We enjoyed our stay very much!

    Feng2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay with families! Each family was able to have their own sleeping and bathroom space with gathering areas throughout the house and property. Even when it rained we were not "on top" of each other with the open floor plan and large covered deck area. Would highly recommend this property.

  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at Shawn’s place. It was clean, cozy and had all of the necessities we were looking for. We will be back and would definitely recommend it. The location was peaceful and perfect for accessing atv/snowmobile trails and a bonus for us it was close to bars and restaurants!

    Cassie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cabin in the woods. Had a blast snowmobiling. 4 of us guys fit perfect in this cabin. Hoping to book again in future.

    Kelly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • AWESOME host, amazing home--A house with great WI/MN character in a beautiful setting, surrounded by classic North Woods and abundant public land, ATV trails, wildlife (including a nice savannah in the backyard for bird watching/viewing eagles, ravens, etc.--I'm sure for some mammals too). Very private and easy to access, straight off a paved road. Host is extremely friendly, welcoming to guests, hospitable and concerned about the quality of your stay (e.g. thoughtfully volunteered some public land hunting spots before departing!). Everything you need to cook, and a cool Keurig instead of a coffee pot. Tons of DVDs available for adults and kids, some games and puzzles, local TV stations work great. Small town amenities only a couple miles away--e.g. a well-stocked market, tavern, awesome sporting goods, etc. THOUGHTFUL host and AMAZING stay! If you want a classic North woods retreat, stay here!

This is the place for the true cabin experience. Located on Devils Lake, a private lake known for its pan fish. Kayaks and a small fishing boat available at no extra charge. This beautiful cabin feels like it is in the boundary waters, only it is 1 hour away from Minneapolis. The property has stairs both inside and down to the lake, so children would need to be supervised. Dogs are allowed you need to keep them on the property and not let them go to the neighbors.
Ping pong table in the garage for rainy day fun!
  • A very homey and cozy space! The living room downstairs had plenty of seating and the fireplace was a nice bonus. The view of the lake was awesome and we made sure to take advantage of the canoe when the weather was right.

    Alec2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin within a decent drive. Feels like being much further up northern. Cabin and local area have everything you need for a nice relaxing trip. Highly recommended.

  • Kimberly is a great host and this cabin is so adorable and cozy! My guest and I loved the feel! We also loved the canoe so that we could enjoy being out on the water. We had everything we needed. Great space to reconnection, brainstorm and relax! Definitely recommend!

  • What a gem !!! You feel like your in the boundary waters with the giant Pine's. One of most stunning sunsets I've ever seen.

    Mike2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin and lake, very peaceful and not at all crowded.

    Sean2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second year back at Kimberly’s cabin and we had another fantastic and relaxing weekend. The cabin has everything you might need or want, and we were especially grateful that there was a kayak, paddle board and canoe available for our use. We also used the fire pit one night which was really fun. It’s on a beautiful little lake, and if you’re lucky you’ll catch some spectacular sunsets from the dockside. Checking and getting settled was very easy, and it truly felt like our home away from home, can’t wait to hopefully return next summer.

    Claire2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a summer weekend. Plenty comfortable and easy to get to from the Twin Cities. The kayak, canoe, and standup paddle board were an amazing addition.

Renovated to resemble the original build over 100 years ago. Relax near the wood burning stove in the structure of shaved timbers. Hike around the creek bed on the 20 acre parcel or for the more adventurous the adjoining 50,000 acres of DNR land.
Many photo opportunities around rustic barn. Great for evening bonfire. Shooting Range for long guns or pistols. This abandoned farm is an excellent property for hunting. Please note this is a cabin, there is heated running water, but no refrigerator. Plan on bringing a cooler to keep food and beverage cold. Kuerig coffee maker is ready to go so bring your pods. There is no conventional oven, we use an electric griddle, hot plate or crockpot for cooking. These are at the property for you. There is unlimited space for setting up tents or other camping structures.
    Rural and secluded.
  • Great rustic location!

    Rob2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! The cabin was super cute and cozy. Perfect weekend away!

    Laria2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin provides the perfect getaway to reset and enjoy sometime unplugged. It is a beautiful 100 year old charming cabin set on what used to be a farm. We spent time snowshoeing around the property and at Crex State Wildlife Area, stopped at the brewery in Grantsburg and did lots of reading by the fire at the cabin.

    Kari2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cozy cabin, perfect for a little getaway. The craftsmanship is wonderful, made feel a bit like you had gone back in time but with modern creature comforts. We will stay again!

This sweet little modern log cabin is just a short distance from the shores of Second Lake in Willow River, MN! Second Lake Hideaway is located 2 miles off of Interstate I-35! 100 miles North of the Twin cities and 50 miles South of Duluth. This is the perfect place to lose yourself for a week or weekend to find relaxation!
Second Lake is a 44 acre private (no public access), serene, quiet lake with a spectacular view from anywhere on the lake. The cabin presents 2 bedrooms one with queen bed, one with full size bed. Full kitchen (no dishwasher) and full bath. Extras include free onsite washer and dryer, cable tv, and wireless internet! Enjoy a spacious camp fire area for those chilly, Minnesota nights, and our outdoor hot tub for the even chillier ones! Lake is visible from cabin although there is no lake access or swimming area. Although at the cabin, there is a little trail that leads to a dock... the dock is not practical for use. To access the lake, you would have a short 4 minute walk down a pretty wooded driveway! There you would find paddle boat, canoe and row boat to use. We have four adult size life jackets available. Sorry- we cannot allow pets.
This is a very peaceful, beautiful and serene cabin spot! The cabin is located on a dead end road, with minimal traffic. .

  • This was an amazing cabin to have for the weekend. The hot tub looked out on the lake which was really beautiful, and it was warm enough in the 30 degree weather. The cabin had everything we needed and the pizza in the freezer from their own company was SO good.

    Miah2019-11-04T00:00:00Z

You are welcome to use kitchen and laundry facilities. We cook quite a bit so you are welcome to either join us or can certainly cook your own meals. We do have WiFi available also.
We are literally right in the middle of the best snowmobile trails., With access just down the road. Great hiking , biking, and ATV trails as well. Many lakes and rivers all around us for activities from fishing to tubing the rivers. Also the St Croix casino is just up the road as well. Many bars and good food as well.
