Places to stay in Helford Passage
The Riverside cabin is a truly hand-built home, made with love from the woodland that surrounds it.. A rustic Cornish getaway, only 15 minutes from Falmouth. With the sound of the wind in the leaves, the tinkling water and the crackling fire to relax you. We hope you will have a wonderfully memorable time.
The Cabin is set in a lovely woodland garden, with a firepit for outdoor cooking, swings and a stream to paddle in. It is situated next to a stream and woodland, near a quiet country road with great access to creeks, cliffs and beaches of Cornwall
The Cabin is just off a rural road between the thriving seaside/ harbour town of Falmouth, and the creeks and fishing villages of the Beautiful Helford River and the Lizard peninsula.
  • Loved every minute of it. Super cute and cosy. Great location for exploring surrounding Cornish towns!

  • One of the most beautiful spaces I have been fortunate enough to spend time in, ever. The craftsmanship is exquisite and the love that ben has for wood is palpable. The communication was swift and straightforward. It is really a magical place. It is closer to a (v quiet) road than I expected but everything else (wood burner, swings, fairy lights etc) made up for it.

  • A magnificent experience! Very authentic and humble place with all the essentials and more. If you want something magical look no further! We loved every moment, specially the outside shower and waking up to birds singing and a steam flowing.

  • It was an absolutely amazing, well needed break away. It was peaceful and tranquil and we had a very relaxing time ( which is total opposite at home). The weather was crisp and cold but with some sun. I loved the swing and the fire pit and the outdoor shower was a great touch, something I never thought I would enjoy but I did... the photo album showing how it was built and all the other items Ben can build was a lovely touch. It was for my fiance 30th birthday. We have recommended to friends and we hope to stay again sometime soon. Thank you so much.

  • Highly recommended! Excellent stay!

  • Beautiful little cabin very cosy and warm with fire! Shower would be perfect in summer but cold for winter months overall great place to stay!!

  • Exquisite getaway in the wilds of Cornwall, this cabin is an absolute must stay. Complete with log burning stove, outdoor fire pit and composting loo, this is really one for the outdoorsy adventurer who still loves a bit of home comfort. Suitable for couples or families, and with lots to do in the area with some great local pubs, cafes and attractions. Short drive to Trebah gardens, helford passage and the seal sanctuary at gweek to name a few. A perfect weekend, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you Ben x

With aged oak and natural tones the barn welcomes your tired feet to a stress and city-free escape. On the route between Falmouth and the Helford River, it comfortably fits a couple with a child.
This south facing barn offers year-round accommodation with self catering facilities for those who prefer an independent break. It comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a child; with a large double bedroom and small single room. (The bedrooms are within the pitch of the roof and may not be comfortable for someone over 6'2".) The spacious open plan kitchen/lounge has solid oak flooring and modern cooking facilities with more than adequate space for evenings in. The paneled bathroom is fitted with a shower, WC and basin, with a stone tiled floor and underfloor heating. The utility is fitted with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Guests will be provided with hand and bath towels along with a welcome pack including the essentials needed for self catering. We're willing to provide advice, so please don't hesitate to ask us recommendations for activities or restaurants. We live next to the barn and will be present most of the time.
Pennance Mill is a rural hamlet on the road between Falmouth and Mawnan Smith, with country walks and beaches nearby. It's only a short bus journey or taxi trip into Falmouth, which would cost no more than a few pounds.
  • Wonderful location, combining both quiet privacy with the convenience of a nearby beach and easy access to Falmouth and more. Very clean, suitably equipped for preparing, cooking and eating in with both adequate dining and relaxing space in the kitchen/diner/lounge. Comfy bed, roomy bathroom.....Even our fussy dog made himself comfortable.

  • Absolutely loved this cottage. Great location, walking distance to a lovely cove (with café, even in March). Other nice walks in the area. Rural but within easy reach of the amenities of Falmouth. Super clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Very clean and comfortable space with all the amenities you need. A travel cot was kindly provided for our baby. Sharon and her husband were pleasant and friendly. The space was nicely decorated and close to Falmouth and many other Cornish attractions. Would stay again and would reccomend.

  • Had a lovely (if a touch wet and windy!) weekend stay, the place was perfect and cosy and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend to anyone, such lovely surroundings and great hosts.

    Megan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is lovely, really close to a small cove just outside of Falmouth. The host's where more than accommodating. There were plenty of toys for our daughter to play with which really helped when not on the beach. The cottage has really well sized rooms and perfect for a small family. it has great transport links and close to coastal walks too. N&K

    Neil2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon’s place was perfect for our short work trip - being just down the road from where we needed to be. It was warm, welcoming and had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Sharon and hosts were not intrusive at all and left us to it which was great. We’d certainly try and book again if we are coming to the area again.

Located at the top of the historic Jacob's Ladder and minutes from the town, this stylish, contemporary studio apartment is the perfect base from which to explore Falmouth + the beautiful surrounding coastline, beaches + AONB.
The apartment was my home for several years + comfortably sleeps 2. It's a light, contemporary, surprisingly spacious loft space, with an open plan living area with wi-fi Smart TV + Netflix. The kitchen has all mod cons including espresso machine, dishwasher + iron. Rainforest head shower, Bath, Washing machine and hair dryer.
Based around a thriving harbour Falmouth is gateway to the beautiful Fal River which runs through an Area Of Natural Beauty. The town is famous for its creative buzz with many art galleries + venues showcasing independent films + bands + lots of independent shops. The many reasons to visit include; fascinating maritime heritage; Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the Helford + Fal Rivers – perfect for walking + days out; watersports including stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing, diving + sailing; boat trips running from the pier + quay including across to wonderful St Mawes. There are 4 world-class beaches; Castle beach, Gyllyngvase beach, Swanpool beach + Maenporth beach, all brilliant for watersports. Great festivals and events calendar all year round including The Oyster Festival, The Sea Shanty Festival and Falmouth Regatta Week. It's now a foodie's paradise; expect freshly caught seafood, delicious delis, food festivals, beachside restaurants, traditional pubs, with a wide-range to suit all budgets. There are beautiful walks and trails nearby through the AONB, and the famous sub-tropical gardens of Trebah + Glendurgan.
  • Lovely loft with views over Falmouth. Very helpful host.

  • We had a great stay at David's flat. It was perfectly situated, clean, and had all the amenities you can wish for. David was very welcoming, easy to communicate with and proactive! I highly recommend this flat! Thanks again David!

  • Such a lovely apartment , great value for money two second walk from town centre. Would 100% return

    Declan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great wee studio apartment in a fantastic location close to Jacob's Ladder steps right into the heart of Falmouth. Thoroughly recommend the apartment and David the host who although we didnt meet face-to-face arranged everything very professionally, would 100% stay here again.

    Rich2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Only downside to this place is that it's right at the top of Jacob's Ladder! Other than that, great space with everything we needed and more, so close to the town centre.

A stylishly furnished king-sized annex overlooking the garden with its own private entrance. The room is at the back of our Victorian townhouse and has its own ensuite shower room and a private parking space. It is located in central Falmouth close to the town centre, beaches, rail stations and some of the university campus buildings. It is ideal for couples, parents visiting their kids at university and business travellers. Please note there's no breakfast, only tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
The room and its ensuite are in an annex with its own private entrance through the garden. Guests are welcome to use the garden. Please note that there are no cooking facilities, but there is a small silent fridge. It is a quiet and comfortable space for a good nights sleep with its king-sized bed and blackout curtains. There is a private ensuite with walk in shower. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap and towels are provided. There is a 'storage corridor' with plenty of room to put suitcases etc and guests can hang clothes on hooks and hangers. There is a completely silent fridge, a DAB radio/bluetooth speaker next to the bed, and a desk to work at, or to sit and drink a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Please note that no breakfast is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own things to eat, or there are plenty of lovely cafes for breakfast in Falmouth close by.
The house is near the town centre, so there are a lot of great restaurants and some nice independent shops within easy walking distance, and a Tesco supermarket less than 5 mins walk into town. There are fab independent cafes called Espressini and Good Vibes Cafe close by which do great breakfasts and coffee, or there is a Wetherspoon pub/restaurant 2 mins walk into town which does a good full English breakfast for very little money. Or I can recommend Gylly Beach Cafe for breakfast - it is only 20 mins walk and literally on the beach!
  • Dominic and Stephanie were great hosts! The place was clean, warm and the bed mattress was great for a comfortable sleep. We had our privacy as they had promised in the description. Very close to Falmouth center within minutes walking distance. Close to bus and train station. Overall I definitely recommend it! Thank you!

    Olympia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dominic’s place was just as we expected; clean, stylish and in a superb location. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay :)

    Millie2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely private space located very conveniently to town. Thanks Dominic!

    Nora2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Dominic is a lovely person and very easy-going. The communication was so easy and personal, which was really nice. The space is very welcoming, with a touch of Scandinavian design, and there are some lovely touches such as fridge, blankets and decent sized mugs! The location is great for Falmouth town centre, but the local station is bit of a journey. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely, snug flat perfect for two guests looking to hide away somewhere in the middle of Falmouth, with gated parking and outside seating area overlooking the harbour.
Falmouth is well known for its waterside activities, and lively town vibe; and this flat gives great access to both. It's bang smack in the middle of the town, right on the water, and has the rarest of advantages in town - its own parking spot, which is inside a secure gated area. Newly refurbished, it's clean, warm and comfortable, but also (hopefully) tastefully kitted out with some home comforts. For sunny days, you won't be found wanting for access to any number of activities, safe in the knowledge that your car doesn't need to move after x number of hours. Regular activities on the main town squares are within easy walking distance, boat trips from the pier are on your doorstep, and the ferry to St Mawes less than 100 metres away. For rainy days, there's the telly with access to Sky...plus a variety of board games...and a PS3 with some old school classics...not to mention the bookshelf...or DVDs. Lastly, I do love a good coffee, so there's a nice Nespresso machine here to be used.
Falmouth is a year-round vibrant town, unique to Cornwall in that there is the omnipresent university crowd who give the area its energy. Three great beaches, countless good eateries, river cruises, fishing trips, walking routes of any length, pubs-a-plenty, and near to any number of days out...this town really is a great centre to a south Cornwall break.
  • Lovely modern apartment, located by ferry pier with views over estuary. Convenient for town/shops, National Maritime Museum, Pendennis castle, St Mawes castle (by ferry). Secure parking a bonus.

    Peter2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t be put off by having to access this place via a very basic staircase; the flat itself is a delight. It is clean, modern, spacious, and contains everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There is an excellent view over the pier, and the central location means that all amenities of the town are on the doorstep. Whilst the location also means that it can get quite noisy, particularly at closing time - keep the front window fully closed, and the noise isn’t a problem. Steve gives clear and comprehensive instructions for access to the car park and the flat, and has provided many thoughtful touches to help to make an enjoyable stay. We hope to return soon.

    John2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great location in the heart of Falmouth. We could see the sea from the sofa - we hadn't expected that. The host did everything he could to make us comfortable. We really enjoyed our short stay.

    Maura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous flat in a great location. Steve is very communicative and there are some really thoughtful touches in the apartment. I would definitely look to use it again for future visits to my daughter whilst she’s at uni there.

    Pippa2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place, location and views and comfy sofa! Thanks for the ear buds too it was a bit noisy Saturday night but we wouldn’t have swapped staying as close to town as we were! Honestly the location really made our trip and the secure parking was great! We walked through town each evening and we didn’t have to drive anywhere! The recommendation for the pub for Sunday carvery was excellent! In fact one of the best parts of our trip! Milk, butter and coffee was a really nice touch and made it perfect for when we arrived ! Even though weather was bad all weekend there was a window of sunshine this morning and we had the perfect breakfast on the deck with that view ! TV was spot on especially having sky plus and PS 3, so we could watch Netflix!

    Lisa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was an amazing base to explore not only Falmouth but also Cornwall. It was the perfect place to warm up after a blustery day out and also to enjoy quiet evenings in. The location is perfect, with easy access to a whole host of places to eat and drink, and the flat itself was well equipped and extremely comfortable! Steve was an excellent host - the best we have ever had staying in an Airbnb and sorted out any queries we had quickly! We could not recommend this place more!

    Lucy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and Steve was very helpful

    Charlotte2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Steve's beautiful apartment in a short space of time, as we loved it so much last time! Its a wonderful location with amazing views either side and is perfect for relaxing or exploring the local area. It's spotlessly clean with great amenities - can't recommend it enough :)

A peaceful retreat deep in the countryside, but only 15 minutes from Falmouth and the coast, the ideal base for the best that Cornwall has to offer: sea sports, walking, music venues, creekside bars, great eateries. Then come home to a super king-size bed, a log fire, big sofa, big quiet luxury. Please note - we now have super fast broadband and re-charging facilities if you have an electric vehicle.
Owl House, Constantine was once the heavy horse stables in a courtyard of mid 19th century farm buildings. It is now our lovely, light guest accommodation, suitable for one or two in the super kingsize double bed. We also have a travel cot for babes in arms. Owl has a living room/kitchen with huge stone arched windows and a high ceiling. There is a woodburning stove, comfy seating and dining - and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher etc. The bedroom has a superking size bed, the bathroom a bath with overhead shower. The double doors from the bedroom lead out to a small private patio garden planted with herbs and lavender. Across the yard, there is a little laundry with washer and dryer, and the machines are exclusively for our guests' use. We supply cotton bedding, feather duvet, thick towels and a welcome tray which includes basics like tea, ground coffee, milk, eggs, bread, butter, cheese - and a few other treats. This is no longer a working farm, but you will have access to the field and wood which make up our holding. We live in the barns next to Owl - and also have our studios there. We are very happy to advise on activities, music venues, sports facilities, where to eat etc. Life drawing sessions may be running during your stay - and you would be welcome to come along and draw or paint, for a small fee. This is a quiet place, surrounded by trees, where at night you can see the stars and listen to the owls hoot. A footpath runs past the yard and into the village of Constantine, a walk of about 2.5 miles, over stiles and through bluebell woods. Constantine has a couple of grocery shops, including the very famous Constantine Stores with its amazing stock of spirits and wines. There is also a community centre with a theatre, music and film programme - and a cafe. The much valued Trengilly Wartha pub is on the other side of the village. We reckon we have the best of worlds - beautiful countryside, but in a quarter of an hour we can be in town or by the sea. There is no public transport nearby. Nearest buses in the village of Constantine. Nearest train station 5 miles away in Penryn or Falmouth.
We live in the countryside, but 2.5 miles away is the traditional Cornish village of Constantine with two pubs, general shops and the celebrated arts and museum venue, the Tolmen Centre.
  • This is a really lovely place to stay. We enjoyed exploring the area and stunning coast path and then coming back to a warm and inviting space. Woodburner very easy to light, huge comfy bed, lovely bathroom and huge bath towels, everything you need in the kitchen and a very generous welcome pack of food, flowers and wine. Thank you Jenny.

    Julia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying in this spotlessly clean flat with a view of the sea to die for! Only quibble is the noise from the building work but this didn’t detract from the enjoyment of our stay.

    Louise2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely flat with a fantastic view over Falmouth harbour. It’s clean and well equipped. It’s located perfectly for the short walk into town. You do have to take pot luck with parking but you will always find a space somewhere along the stretch towards the Green bank hotel. The beds are comfortable and the linen is of a high standard. The tv only works via WiFi but that didn’t bother us and there’s a DVD player too. I would fully recommend this flat for up to four people. It is clean and in a perfect location.

The Shieling is a quirky, rustic barn conversion attached to the owners house although privately situated and set in an idyllic countryside location 150yards from the creek side village of Port Navas on the beautiful Helford River. There is a pebbled south-facing terrace for the exclusive use of guests.
The Shieling is a single-storey open-plan studio barn conversion, with a seating area, TV, & double bed, a small kitchen area with table & chairs, basic cooking facilities including a table-top oven/grill and two-ring plug-in hob. There is also a gas BBQ on the terrace. The barn is set on a lower level than the owners house overlooking the large gardens, and enjoys a high degree of privacy.
Port Navas is a quiet, picturesque creek side village. There is a small village hall which hosts local events such as art exhibitions, talks and coffee mornings. There is also a small yacht club with a restaurant. It’s just a short walk to the beautiful Polwheveral Creek and the Potager Cafe. The South West coast path is just 2 miles away overlooking Falmouth bay and the Helford river, where you can walk from Helford Passage to Durgan beach, and further along to the Falmouth beaches of Maenporth, Swanpool and Gyllyngvase. Trebah Gardens, Glendurgan gardens and Constantine are just a short drive away. The nearest towns are Falmouth & Penryn which are 6 miles away.
  • What a gem! We had such a great time here - the space is a lot bigger than you think and has so many lovely touches. Great facilities, the shower especially! Lisa greeted us on arrival and gave us some tips on where to go for dinner, we had a lovely evening meal at the local Trengilly Wartha Inn on Lisa's recommendation! The outside space was really special, overlooking the lovely garden - though still feeling like your own space. Location wonderful too, the picturesque village of Port Navas just a short walk away. We would love to come back in the summer and really enjoy the long evenings here!

  • What a gem of a place. Hidden away in a beautiful part of Cornwall. A private and secluded space with everything you need. The log burner was the highlight. Easy walk to port Navas for dinner at the Yacht Club and not too far walking to Helford Passage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn’t want to leave. Great hospitality.

Tree Tops is a rustic family cottage sitting in 2 acres of very private lawned gardens with a fantastic view of Port Navas creek and The Helford River. It is a hidden paradise for families with so much to explore, and close to Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens. We are dog friendly (for well behaved dogs!) and the garden is very safe for pets and children. The river, and yacht club, (famous for its good food), are less than 100m away & there are wonderful coastal walks nearby. "We love it here"2108
Tree Tops is available for 4 nights in July (24 to 27th inclusive) for a short break. Wednesday 24th is a 7pm entry (hence the reduced price). The Port Navas Regatta is on Saturday 27th, and is a lovely family event. "The best place for a family holiday I have ever been to". Mike. Devon. June 2017 "Another wonderful holiday at Tree Tops. We love it here". Lydia. Birmingham. August 2018 Tree Tops is a 1940s cottage. It is full of character. It is clean, warm, and dry with a lovely real fire heating the sitting room. The view from the kitchen at breakfast time is of the valley and creek. Peaceful, unspoilt (pretty well unchanged for 70 years!), and unique. The gardens are mainly lawn with well kept flower beds. Ideal for families as it is well back and up from the lane, there is plenty of room for ball games and to set up a badminton court. Behind the garden are private, unused woods (well, we many guests use it to explore!) In the early morning you will hear a beautiful dawn chorus, and see rabbits feeding at the top of the garden. At dusk you will hear and see owls emerging from the woods for their night time adventures, and see bats flying in the night sky. You will hear only the sound of the owls and the stream bubbling away at the bottom of the garden. But you are not isolated. If you borrow a boat you can moor it at the Yacht Club (just 100m away) and motor out on the river to the pubs, beaches, Helford Village, and the mysterious backwaters such as Frenchman's Creek. And one of the best pubs in the country, Trengilly Wartha, is just 10 minutes drive (or taxi drive) away. It has won the award for the West Country Pub of the Year, Number 1 on Trip Advisor, and 2nd in CAMRA UK Pub of the Year. A few reviews: 'We have enjoyed peace and tranquility in such beautiful surroundings and leave Tree Tops feeling recharged and rejuvenated! What a delightful cottage - so very comfy and cosy....loved every minute' Terry and Margaret, June 2016. 'Charming cottage in idyllic setting. Very well equipped and comfortable. Have enjoyed the rabbits in the garden, and a pheasant came calling too. Had an early morning call, usually at about 5.45, from a crow who thought it was a good idea to "knock" on the bedroom window! This is my first time in Cornwall and there is lots to do and see from here and even the narrow lanes were not an issue after a day or so. Would definitely recommend Tree Tops for a relaxing break'. Sue, Vi, and Alan. May 2016. 'Tree Tops has a magic all of its own - once seen always remembered. We have shared it for a few days and loved every minute. If you know of a better holiday let, you are fortunate indeed'. Sue and Colin, September 2016 'Perfect for walking, sailing, golf, gardens. tree Tops always delivers'. Mike. June 2018 Every single rating Tree Tops gets on every website gives it 5 starts for location. This is because you have a huge, private play area just metres from the Helford River. Every morning you will enjoy breakfast with a view of the creek. If you are not out exploring you can spend the day in your private lawns of over one acre. At sunset, and after, you will experience the peace of this unique place and hear only owls and the stream below. And on a clear night you will see the stars and the moon with no interference from artificial light. " What a week in this magical place. So homely. We could just stay here forever; everything was perfect". Stuart and family. Essex. April 2018 "Fantastic stay and Tree Tops delivered beyond our expectations". Martin. Australia. June 2018 The Port Navas Regatta 2019 in on Saturday, July 27. It is a lovely family event.
Port Navas is a beautiful village up a creek on The Helford River. The river is one of the most stunning places in Great Britain. You can hire boats at Helford Passage and take the ferry to Helford Village. The Lizard Peninsular, with its coves and coastal paths, beaches and cream teas is very close by. There are some great pubs a short drive (or taxi ride as the wine lists are excellent) away.
  • Tree Tops is a lovely bungalow with a huge garden, set in superb surroundings, and very peaceful. The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It proved to be an excellent base for exploring the Cornish coastline, countryside and local towns and villages. I recommend it.

  • We had a magnificent and memorable 5 nights here at Tree Tops. It is a simple cottage (no double bed) but cosy and inviting and comfortable. The setting would be hard to improve! A picturesque view over the Port Navas village, expansive and luscious lawn (perfect for chasy and cartwheels), birds of prey circling over the woods behind the property. We could have stayed for months. Close to wonderful public gardens, good pubs and the South West coastal path. Our family of 5 won’t forget this holiday in a hurry.

    Jeremy2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, lovely area, big garden which our three Lancashire Heelers enjoyed. Driveway is very steep, not a huge area to turn our estate car around in, but overall a fabulous place to stay.

  • What a wonderful weekend and great place to celebrate my birthday! Clean and charming cottage, the garden is simply just great for our two poodle cross. Ben is such a great host and even offer us an early check in. We will definitely be back again.

The Lizard has been designated an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' as it justifiably deserves. It's teeming with diverse wildlife and beautiful coves, stunning cliff paths, sandy beaches, fishing villages and spectacular scenery. The Nanfan Barn cottages are perfectly set up by the Owners to ensure a relaxing, tranquil holiday in spacious accommodation and superb views. It has a remote feel, but it is only a short drive to Helston and much of south and western Cornwall is within easy reach. There are lots of footpaths both inland and coastal, and the Coastal Path at Poldhu is close by. The beaches of Poldhu – a mile away, and Church/ Dollar Cove, and the beach Church at Gunwallow (it's a Medieval Church -Poldark and Doc Martin film there) are close. The Lizard is England's most southerly point. The Lizard point is famous for shipwrecks and the area highlights include early Spring flowers –including beautiful yellow daffodils everywhere, the Lizard Lighthouse, swimming and surfing from many sandy beaches, and delightful fishing coves. At the heart of the Lizard village stands a 13th century church, famous for it's ornate woodwork decorating the end of the each pew and depicting scenes from the Old and New Testament. Outside in the water, two, thick sea walls, built in the late 19th century, protect the harbour from the worst of the wind. Local fisherman still work in the harbour to land fabulous fresh seafood, some of which is then served in the local pubs and restaurants. There is sailing at Falmouth or on the beautiful Helford river and it also has picturesque village and lovely pub with the ferry across to Trebah Gardens, and Frenchman's Creek (Daphne du Maurier- ‘Rebecca'). There are heather covered moors unique to the area with autumn also a great time of year to visit and many open gardens and National Trust areas, pretty harbour lights at Christmas, friendly pubs and good, fresh, local food (several restaurants are Michelin recommended)! There are loads more places to visit on the Lizard and highlights include walks along the coastal path and cliffs, the famous Victorian holiday destination of Kynance Cove with the beautiful rare Serpentine rocks and cafe, a visit to Trelowarren Estate, and the fascinating Goonhilly Earth Station and its Segway course. Flambards is great for the kids and you can step into Cornwall's mining heritage at the Poldark Mine.Mullion is the largest village situated on the Lizard Peninsula and boasts a number of quality pubs, cafes and restaurants among it's various attractions. Four beaches – the towering cliffs of Mullion Cove- a fishing harbour, Poldhu Cove with café (and Marconi Centre), isolated Polhurrian Cove and amazing Church Cove - are conveniently nearby and easy access to the South West Coastal Path offers visitors the chance to explore the beautiful surrounding cliff scenery. The coastal path goes to the miles of sand at Loe Bar and Pool (Cornwall's largest lake and wildlife haven) and on to the Penrose parkland. There are so many activities to choose from locally. You can take a boat trip across the beautiful Helford River and explore the gardens at Trebah. There are sea fishing trips from Porthleven and beach fishing from Loe Bar. There is great diving on the Manacles from Porthkerris and coasteering is available for the really adventurous. The Lizard is home to the Cornish Chough if you like a spot of bird-watching. The coastline has many pretty coves and beaches to discover, but you can find great surf at Porthleven and Poldhu. Canoeing and bard surfing are popular on the protected Eastern shores
  • This place really is a luxury retreat away from home, with everything you need plus more. There were some thoughtful touches such as the cookies, milk, coffee and bottle of wine. The fire and hot tub are what topped it off for us. Very remote location but just what we were after. Would definitely stay again.

    Paul2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property for a get away for two, out of the way from the busyness of life. Cosy property with a fire in the living space, bedroom a little small but manageable for a short time away. Perfectly clean with a nice bathroom and stylish kitchen. A little disappointed by the lack of privacy when in the hot tub outside as it overlooks onto the parking area shared by another couple holiday properties. Other than that no issues and will happily stay again.

  • Had a wonderful weekend in this beautiful home. The modern touches to the building look stunning from the outside and the hot tub, heated pool and sauna area were definitely a luxury. Having a car is useful as nearest shops/town are a little drive away. The space was so relaxing and peaceful at all times - can’t fault it.

  • Beautiful modern cottage setting in gorgeous, tranquil woodland/countryside surroundings with lovely onsite pool and other facilities. Cottage was clean and very spacious for two and our little baby. Had everything you need (beds made and towels provided etc ) just need to bring your own self-catering basics if you're staying longer than 1 night; tea, coffee, sugar, salt/pepper etc as only a small amount supplied. Perfect location to explore the area - Falmouth really close as well as a selection of beautiful beaches. Pool area was an added bonus and surrounded by beautiful oak trees and the hot tub and sauna were lovely and hot!

Port Navas lies between the popular villages of Mawnan Smith and Constantine, each providing a good range of facilities including local shops, a church and a pub. The thriving harbour town of Falmouth is close at hand.
  • The Cottage was a cosy and comfortable place to stay in the quiet village of Port Navas, with views of the water. It is beautifully decorated throughout and has everything you could need. Cooking with an Aga was a new experience for us but instructions were provided so that was really helpful... and it kept the cottage lovely and warm! We especially enjoyed our cream tea on arrival. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • This is a lovely newly renovated house ideally located. We would highly recommend it.

    Lucy2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Cottage is a beautiful home from home. The hosts have thought of everything, from comfy beds to sumptuous soft furnishings. Don't you find it annoying when you stay somewhere that only gives you enough plates, cups, cutlery etc for 4 or 6 people? Or no hooks for coats, towels etc? Not here - abundance of crockery and everything you'd need in the kitchen is provided! And plenty of hooks...! practicalities like this make for a more comfortable stay! The aga was a real treat and ensured the cottage was always warm... A great place to return to after the wild February storms! Fantastic location in a very friendly village.

    Lucy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Navas Nook a few hours before a big storm blew in. It is the perfect place to be holed up - log fire, cosy blankets, beautiful touches and really good quality furnishings. We felt completely at home and loved having breakfast up in the Captains Quarters & walking down to the water at sunset. Port Navas is incredibly peaceful, full of wading birds and friendly neighbours, with lots to do within a short drive. Lucy and Kurt were lovely to deal with and helped us out at short notice when another stay didn’t work out. We just hope we can come back soon!

    Kat2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Lucy's cottage. The location is superb with coast path walks on your door step. We stayed for a cold sunny January weekend and you couldn't ask for a cosier cottage. The space is very stylish and really well planned out. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 dogs. We didnt want to leave!

    Charlotte2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved the cottage. Perfect little break and so stylish and comfy

    Donna2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house. Well kitted out kitchen. Would love to go back

    Nicolette2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage in Port Navas is a beautiful and homely place to stay. The village is well located as a base to explore Cornwall and there are many options for food and drink nearby and the area is very quiet and peaceful. Definitely a relaxing and recharging place to spend a holiday.

Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of its unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors' lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day are truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. You can enjoy these events on foot from this centrally located apartment. As a university town many events are arranged by the students including annual exhibitions of art and photographic work. This is a perfect apartment for parents wishing to visit their children as the bus to the University leaves regularly from the end of the road up to the Tremough campus. The beaches at Gyllingvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea! Sharon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect place from which to visit 2 outstanding National Trust properties, Tresillick and Glendurgan Gardens. Very close to Falmouth town centre (and you have parking) as well as the sea. Well appointed and spotlessly clean - the bed was really comfortable.

    Nick2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The space was sparking clean with great amenities. Very stylist and great location right by the sea! We had a really lovely stay and would come back again!

    Katy2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location , sparkling clean and comfortable facilities, lovely sea views and the option to use Falmouth Hotel facilities for dining or leisure, swimming pool etc.

    Juliet2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Richards flat was both comfy and clean, it was a great size - perfect for two. The flat is conjoined to The Falmouth Hotel, so felt very safe. It was less than a minutes walk to the sea front and was a fab spot for running. I'd recommend this very affordable little flat if you're coming down to Falmouth!

    Grace2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulously located, comfortable apartment within very easy reach of the seafront and the beautiful Garden Room bar and bistro at the Princess Pavilion.

    Mark2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, airy apartment in the grounds of the Falmouth hotel - literally two minutes’ walk to the seafront, and about 10 minutes into Falmouth town, which was perfect for us. The apartment was well-equipped for cooking, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our only slight issue would be that we sometimes had some noise from the nearby catering part of the hotel in the morning (however, we are quite late risers, so for people waking up at a more normal time, this probably wouldn’t be such an issue!). It was a lovely place to stay, and we would be very happy to come back.

    Hannah2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Pipit is in a great location right across the road from the sea with views from the apartment. Town is only 10-15 minute walk away and as there was onsite parking so we could leave the car and walk into town. The apartment was clean with all the facility’s you need and the washing machine was a real bonus as we had been travelling for 2 months. It was good to have a lift too as the apartment is on the second floor, saving us having to get our bags up the stairs. Would happily stay here again.

  • Great place and just a stunning location. The hosts could do enough for us and made our weekend very comfortable. We loved using the canoe and what an amazing view from the bedroom. Penpoll comes highly recommended.

    Tony2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Linda's place: from the king size bed to the continental/English breakfast, everything was perfect! We even had the chance to spot some nice birds in the creek at the back of the house.

    Justine2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • It is hard to imagine a more idyllic location that this, particularly when the tide is in! The accomodation was spotlessly clean and we had an amazing view onto Gillan Creek from the bedroom. Linda and Tony were very welcoming and gave us some useful recommendations for nearby evening food - The New Inn is a pleasant 10 minute walk away along a woodland path. We visited whilst walking the SW Coast path, and found this cottage to be ideally situated for a stop between Coverack and Falmouth.

    Alex2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend this property as a base for exploring the Lizard. The setting is magical - the property sits right on the creek, with views over the water and the woods beyond. The garden is the perfect spot to enjoy the scenery and wildlife in the sunshine but, if it's raining, you can still enjoy an uninterrupted view from the bedroom window. The annex itself is spotless, spacious and light. Linda and Tony are extremely welcoming, and have great local knowledge to share. The final word must go to the food - Linda makes a truly fabulous breakfast and the pasty dinner is a must! I could have spend much longer at Penpoll. I would love to return to the Lizard and, if so, would absolutely stay at Penpoll again.

    Alexandra2019-09-21T00:00:00Z

  • Fletching Manor is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and lived up to our expectations. It’s a great place for longer stays and so close to the coastal path if you enjoy walking. We visited for two weeks during November and the weather was very wet. We appreciated such a comfortable, warm, dry place, especially after our outings in the rain. The couple who manage the cottage are very helpful and on hand should you need anything.

    Michael2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Luxury barn conversion. Cliff top rural location. Great facilities. Hot tub nice touch. Several nice pubs within a walk or short drive distance.

    Martyn2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Five star luxury on a Cornish cliff top and within walking distance of the coastal path. You won’t be disappointed!

    Caroline2019-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Barn conversion, great remote location, hot tub was fantastic too

    Lisa2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely house. We had a week at Manor Fletching which was idyllic. The big kitchen/diner/lounge works well. All the facilities like ovens, shower, heating work easily and reliably. Things like underfloor heating and a ready to go hot tub help. Getting to to cottage is down tiny Cornish roads, and the nearest shop is a 5-10 minute drive away, but if you want to get away from it all this is a very special place.

There are some lovely walks and a great pub nearby. A great place to escape to! We also appreciated Emily's thoughtfulness in making our stay perfect.

Constantine is a great base for local walks and those further afield. Our dog Bertie had a great time too! We will definitely be booking another longer stay next year.

    Carole2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Emily’s place. It was so comfortable, lovely sofa and bed. Sky tv and a cute kitchen, although we ate out so didn’t make much use of it! Constantine village is so cute with every house having a lit up Christmas tree outside and decorations everywhere. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area again. Thank you!

A cosy cottage very near to Port Navas Creek. Ideal location for walking and with a public slipway only 3 minutes walk away - getting into the water to muck about on the river couldn’t be more convenient. Many famous Cornish destinations only a drive away. The Minack theatre, St. Michaels Mount, Falmouth, Helston, Penzance, the Eden Project, the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek and many glorious beaches to discover. Dogs are welcome but please be aware that there is an extra charge of £30 for dogs.
Nestling in the creek side hamlet of Port Navas, Orchard cottage is a pretty stone built cottage extended over the years to provide a comfortable and well equipped living space for 5 people. The lovely rear garden, which overlooks the orchard and the woods beyond reaches down to a stream and gives ample space for BBQs and relaxing.
Port Navas is an old village steeped in history, but it is also a living village with a thriving community. The nearest small supermarket, a Spar, is in Constantine, about 2 miles away. The nearest bar and restaurant is Port Navas yacht club, only 5 minutes walk away. There is also a great place to try, Trengilly Wartha Inn only 2 miles away. We also enjoy the Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage, 2 miles away. There are many wonderful walks around, bring your wellies and/or walking boots! Especially worth a visit are the woods at the ancient Bosahan Quarry. (Cornish pronounciation “Bosain”) The woods there are exquisite and covered in bluebells in May. Get there by driving through Constantine and on out North East towards the Waymarker cafe. There’s a museum at Constantine which will inform you all about the granite and oyster industries Port Navas is famous for. Have a look at the notice board next to the Port Navas Village hall and take part in local activities if you fancy.
  • Orchard Cottage was absolutely perfect for our family of five. It was clean, comfortable and cosy, we felt very at home as soon as we walked in the door! Anna went out of her way to make sure we had a wonderful stay.

Great if you like peaceful location with few tourists. Pretty garden with lots of places to sit out and absorb the atmosphere. Close to some beautiful National Trust beaches on Helford Estuary and striking distance of all the Lizard beaches. Bar and restaurant open during summer in Port Navas Yacht Club. • Beautiful barn conversion in a fantastic location. Well kitted out for families with books, toys and games. Large kitchen/ dining area, and large lounge with plenty of seating to enjoy the fire. Great outdoor space too, with ample parking space. Information and comms were excellent. Highly recommend Trebah Gardens, a short walk over the road. • The house and the yard are very large and well kept. There is art and antiques everywhere. The kitchen is equipped by everything you need even to bake a cake. It's warm and cozy. There are books and toys for the kids and board games for the whole family.

    Natasha2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The property was a quiet location even in the height of the holiday season. Well located for both south and north coastal activities.

    Jeff2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here. The house had more than enough space for the seven of us that stayed, with ample parking outside the front. The house was lovely and clean, and the facilities provided were great. The kitchen especially was fully kitted out, and the large table made for a great space to play board games, and to generally sit around in the evening. The living room was huge, and the tv and speakers provided great entertainment. Even the outside grassy area was great to kick a ball around. William was a great host, and any questions we had were answered promptly. If you’re heading down to Falmouth or the surrounding area, I’d definitely recommend Eve’s Barn.

We had a very relaxing week (weak Internet but that was an advantage for us!) and we even used the jacuzzi and swimming pool! We will definitely recommend this place and come back in the future! Worth to visit the Flicka Donkey Fundation which is only few minutes away, Norway Inn (10-15 minutes driving) for Sunday dinner (dogs allowed) and "Cribbs" Caribbean Street Food in Falmouth.

Seashells Cottage only meters from the beach at Helford Passage, the famous Ferryboat Inn looking across the river and there is direct access to the South West Coastal path. Extra large King size bed, WiFi, heated outdoor pool (shared) Within walking distance of Glendurgan and Trebah gardens - and golf at the Budock Vean hotel where spa treatments are available to non residents. Boat hire and moorings are available from Helford River Boats at Helford Passage.,
  • We had a great week staying at Seashells cottage. The cottage is really well-equipped - particularly the kitchen, which had far more than we expected. We made dinner a couple of times but mostly found ourselves at the Ferryboat Inn, which is only a minute's walk from the cottage, excellent food and right on the river. But if you do want to stay in and eat at the cottage then it's easily done. Liz also provides books, dvds, board games, wifi and access to bbc iplayer, amazon prime, Netflix etc so there is plenty in the cottage to keep you entertained. We also slept amazingly all week thanks to the very comfortable and huge super king-size bed! The location is absolutely amazing. As mentioned, it's on the river and it was also really quiet. Our stay was at the end of September so the other surrounding cottages were mostly vacant but even if it was in the height of summer, it's only a small area and quite private so can't imagine it would ever be too noisy. If you're staying in the cottage then all residents have access to a heated outdoor swimming pool (open until the end of September). I had the pool to myself one morning and it was lovely. We picked Helford Passage as it was in easy reach to most of the places that we wanted to visit in southwest Cornwall. There's also plenty nearby to the cottage - you can access the coastal path (two minute walk), there's a couple of tropical gardens in walking distance - one being Trebah Gardens, which we visited and really enjoyed. There are also a few pubs that you could either walk to or only a short drive away. Liz was a great host - easy to contact and provided plenty of information about the cottage and area, which was helpful. Check-in was so simple as you can check yourself in by accessing the keys yourself via a safe next to the front door, which means our holiday started instantly! We had such a great week and will definitely be visiting again!

    Tracey2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Seashells cottage is well appointed, cosy, comfortably warm in winter and a wonderful location for those seeking some quiet time out by the water. Also within easy reach of Falmouth.

    Amanda2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cottage located in beautiful Helford Passage - a quiet, secluded corner of Cornwall where time seems to stop. The shared swimming pool is an added bonus to a holiday in this well equiped cottage. Fantastic pub overlooking the Helford Estuary (The Ferry Boat Inn) is a minutes walk away, along with kayaking, paddle boarding and ice cream facilities! We had the perfect holiday. Thank you!

The Boathouse is a brand new, self-contained one bedroom annex set within 4 acres of private gardens. It's a glorious rural retreat, perfectly situated just off the famous Helford River, between the popular villages of Port Navas and Mawnan Smith. The bustling seaside town of Falmouth is a 15 minute drive away. It's a great location for a range of activities - from country walks, kayaking, windsurfing, surfing, sailing, beaching, golf, spa days, or simply relaxing. The perfect getaway!
The Boathouse is newly-renovated this season to the highest standards. Accessed via a private driveway and completely private, you can park immediately outside the front door. Entering via the ground floor you find a small hallway, with the ash staircase on your right and shoe and coat storage on your left. Immediately in front of you is the shower-room, with a large power-shower, vanity unit and bathroom facilities. Following the hallway around to the right you enter a generous open plan kitchen/living area with an island breakfast bar, kitchen facilities including a dishwasher and granite worktops, and a comfortable living-room area with a smart tv and woodburner. Upstairs is a kingsize bed, set within the eves and with velux windows which capture the night sky (due to the lack of light polution, the stars are amazing). A doorway from the bedroom leads onto your own private balcony with uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. Here you'll find a seating area, garden table and chairs and a BBQ for alfresco dinners. The Boathouse is surrounded by off-road country walks, and you can follow several established paths both out to the coastal footpaths and inland across open countryside.
The Boathouse is located in Bosanath Valley, 100 yards from the Helford River and just over one mile from the centre of the well served village of Mawnan Smith, whose day-to-day amenities include a village store, thatched pub (The Red Lion), doctors surgery, church, hairdressers, tapas restaurant and garage. The yachting haven of Port Navas, whose sheltered sailing waters lead directly onto the beautiful Helford River and the sea beyond, is just a 10 minute walk away. The small but perfectly formed Port Navas Yacht Club can be found perched on the quay - a great location for a quick pint or evening meal. Helford Passage, home of the Ferry Boat Inn, is an approximate five minute drive away or half hour walk; before which are the leisure facilities and golf course at the Budock Vean Hotel; a short distance after which are the internationally renowned National Trust gardens at Trebah and Glendurgan. The Trengilly Wartha Inn, a very popular country gastro-pub, is approximately 10 minutes by car. The port of Falmouth is approximately five miles away, and the cathedral city of Truro is approximate thirty/thirty five minutes drive away, from where there is a regular main-line rail link to and from London Paddington. The wildlife surrounding The Boathouse is fantastic, with plenty of woodpeckers, owls, foxes, badgers, pheasants, deer etc. The Boathouse is surrounded by off-road country walks, and you can follow several established paths both out to the coastal footpaths and inland across open countryside.
  • A fantastic location and beautifully renovated boathouse with everything well thought out and all amenities you could possibly need. Walking distance from local pubs and Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens, both well worth a visit. Will most definitely be back!

  • We had a great weeks stay, Sarah and Alex are great hosts! The boathouse was spotless and exactly as the pictures show! The location is very rural however we loved being able to walk to all the coastal villages for a drink or some food! The main house is a little closer than we expected however the boathouse is still private and we felt very secluded which was nice. You do get the odd visit from their two very friendly dogs however we are dog lovers so this did not phase us! We had a fantastic stay, Sarah was amazing with providing information and answering any questions! We would definitely go back!

    Sarah2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Boathouse. It’s beautiful accommodation and we felt very much at home there. The surrounding area is really peaceful too. Sarah and Alex are great hosts. We highly recommend!

Possessing probably the most astonishing view of any holiday home in Cornwall, this former meteorological observatory is a unique place to stay. Offering 360 degree views of Falmouth, the whole of the Fal estuary and across Falmouth Bay, you will be mesmerised both day and night. Presented to the highest standards, providing luxury accommodation, this is a very special place to stay.
Set on a hill, overlooking town, sea and river, The Observatory Tower occupies the highest point in Falmouth. It was built in 1868, as a meteorological observatory, where people could watch and identify incoming weather. Originally it had a parapet wall on top. Unfortunately The Tower went into disrepair over the years and was eventually sold at auction in 2009, when the new owners set about its complete renovation, restoring wherever possible. They were keen to keep the restoration as sympathetic to its heritage, while also updating it for the 21st century, to make it a luxurious and comfortable modern holiday home with every amenity you could possibly wish for. Located close to the heart of Falmouth, it is just a short 6 minute walk down the hill to the famous National Maritime Museum Cornwall as well as all the attractions, restaurants and pubs along Falmouth's historic waterfront. Highlights include Rick Stein's Fish & Chip shop and Oyster Bar. You could also enjoy a leisurely pint of local brew outside the Chain Locker pub overlooking the Custom's House Quay! If you fancy spending some time on the beach, the sand at Gyllyngvase is about a 12 minute walk away. Accommodation Ground Floor: A private bedroom, with 4'6" bed and TV, complete with ensuite wet-room & WC, is situated on the ground floor. There is a separate utility room which leads to a small external courtyard at the rear of the property. First floor: On the first floor is a flexible space used as a living room, but easily converted to a second bedroom when the wall bed (4'6") is pulled down. This allows up to 4 people to be comfortably accommodated. There is a separate bathroom with overhead shower & WC. Second floor: The kitchen on the second floor is both functional and interesting at the same time. The history of The Observatory Tower is depicted through photographs, plans and original weather reports, set behind a glass splashback. A bright and airy space, with rooftop views over Falmouth to north, south, east and west. Third floor: The main living room on the 3rd floor, with its large picture window overlooking Falmouth Bay, is a precursor to the top floor. Its funky sofa was specially designed to fit the space, with fabrics chosen to reflect the changes in the weather. Fourth floor: After scaling the 66 steps to the top, the observation deck on the 4th floor is what this building is all about. The 360 degree views are breathtaking and if you don't know what you are looking out at, the pelmet art above the windows will help you identify local landmarks. On this floor there is a wine fridge, a sink and facilities for making hot drinks which you can enjoy whilst taking in the wonderful views. Facilities & Services Heating is via under floor heating throughout the property. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a range of modern equipment. There is an electric oven & hob, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave & dishwasher. There is boiling water on tap in both the kitchen and observation deck. The separate utility room has a washer dryer. In the living room there is a large flatscreen digital TV & DVD player. There is also a TV in the master bedroom. There is WiFi available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. On street parking is available nearby. Regrettably no dogs are permitted. Strictly no smoking is allowed. Please note that due to the nature of the building, the property is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Please also note that there are many stairs in the property and some are a little narrow in places. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally on a Friday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £200 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Falmouth, the sailing capital of Cornwall, is renowned for being the third deepest natural port in the world, a haven for both cruisers and racers offering the sailor the last major port before the 12 hour crossing to the Isles of Scilly. Visitors to the Port will find the town teeming with coastal treasures, ranging from fish restaurants and boat trips to The National Maritime Museum, Cornwall next to Port Pendennis. Pendennis Castle built in the 16th Century sits high above the harbour with truly magical panoramic views across the bay. You can ride one of the Fal River Link Ferries to the beautiful St Mawes and visit Henry VIII’s sister castle or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea. Falmouth Regatta Week, in August is the town's major event both on and off the water, fireworks and the recent addition of the Red Arrows provides a spectacular back drop for some high class racing. Later in the year the Oyster Festival shows off the rivers heritage to the full. Pendennis Shipyard host luxury yachts for re-fit and and in June 2012 Falmouth will host the J Class Regatta, the most spectacular event since the Tall Ships Race last visited in 2008. There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein brought his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar to Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town.
  • Stunning views from the tower. Clean and well stocked. I would highly recommend this unique stay.

    Amanda2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great, unique place to stay. Amazing views from the top floor, as other reviewers have said. Eating breakfast up there every morning is a great way to start the day! No parking space allocated, but very close street parking is available - we had no issues finding a space throughout the whole 5 days. 2 large bathrooms (one containing a frankly enormous bathtub), under floor heating throughout, instant boiling water tap and dishwasher in the kitchen, smart tv with Netflix in the living room. Great Air BnB.

    Lee2020-01-29T00:00:00Z

Helford Passage is a beautiful and very special part of Cornwall which has managed to avoid the tourist pressures experienced by other areas in the South West. It has maintained its charm and magic. The best thing is the beautiful beach which is a few metres from the front door, ideal for families with small children as you don't need to pack up the car or worry about finding the loo. Everything is on your door step. Helford River Boats ltd provides boat hire for exploring the creeks and further up the river. They also hire out stand up paddle SUP boards and kayaks so pack up a picnic and find a beautiful spot to relax and eat. There are many places to visit in the area, all of which can be done without getting in the car (the bit I love the most) Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens (which are spectacular all year round) are 1-2km walk along the coast. Trebah kitchen does lovely food. The world famous Ferry Boat Inn with its wonderful food and views of the Helford is just around the corner from the flat. There are many gorgeous walks all around the coast on both sides of the river. You can visit the original Frenchman's Creek made famous by Daphne Du Maurier by taking the ferry over to Helford Village. Further afield is Gweek Seal Sanctuary, the incredible Lizard Peninsula for diving and surfing and Falmouth which is always worth a mooch to look at the galleries and shops and has a variety of brilliant places to eat and drink with views over the Fal..
  • Great apartment with lovely location on the Helford Passage. Really clean with comfy beds and good quality bed linen. Ideal for a short stay to explore the area.

  • Beautiful location, perfect for those that like being near the water. HRB also provide lots of opportunities to get on the water. The flat is clean and modern, with everything you could possibly need. Katy was great and went the extra mile, also providing a high chair.

  • A fantastic location for canoeing and kayaking plus other water sports. The place was very clean and very comfortable. Walk to the beach is about 2 mins . Please visit the Ferry Boat Inn for a great service and fantastic food. They are just by the water front. What a location.

  • Great stay. Would recommend.

    Gail2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location, 2 mins from the fantastic Ferryboat Inn with live music and great food. We had a lovely few days, enjoyed getting to know the area (by foot and car) which is absolutely stunning and would definitely recommend. We were holidaying as a couple but the accommodation would easily sleep a family and the kids would have a blast on the beach which is 1 minute away, if that! Many thanks for a lovely few days.

    Lindsey2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were one of the first guests in this lovely accommodation. We (family of four) stayed here for five days. It was very clean and is equipped with everything we needed. It's a few meter walk to the harbour, nice gardens are in neighborhood. We had great fun renting a small motor boat at the harbour, exploring Helford river and it's branches. We recommend it!

    Nicole2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Katie left her bijou place spotlessly clean and well equipped. The location is excellent with swimming pool, cliff and beach walks, boating, and beautiful gardens literally on the doorstep. Katie always responded quickly to our communications. Thank you – we had a great stay!

The studio style hut is rustic, rural, quiet, with far-reaching views of fields and woodland. 2 miles from central Falmouth, but a world away in every other sense. The bathroom is just behind the studio, accessed separately, with a compost loo, large shower, and simple washing facilities. In the studio, a wood-burner with endless free supplies of wood is ready to make a chilly day warm and cosy. And a small kitchenette for basic cooking is handy with a large farmhouse table and chairs.
  • We stayed at this cute little studio for a couple of days (wishing we booked longer) it is set at the top of a hill in a peaceful setting surrounded with nature and animals. It has everything you need and more, lots of extras included which was a lovely touch. Meeting the hosts Patrick and Julie was a pleasure, always happy to help with anything (finding a nice beach walk) they gave so many local recommendations which were all amazing! I could go on and on about good things about this place, just book it and you can go check it out yourself, you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for letting us stay with you, we will definitely be returning soon! Katie and Archie :)

    Katie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay, really clean facilities with more amenities than you could imagine. Fire was outstanding, and location was fantastic! Thank you for having us Patrick, we will be back!

    Leah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Patrick’s place, it’s a great location and easy to find. Inside the cabin, the log burner with plenty of wood and little touches made our stay even more comfortable! Would love to visit again soon.

    Joanna2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick's place is IDEAL for the rustic traveller. You will need to be used to an outdoorsy lifestyle (e.g. walk outside to reach the toilet and washing up facilities), but if this is no problem for you, I say go for it! The location and aesthetics of the place are just incredible; and Patrick is a friendly, kind and thoughtful host, with bag loads of local knowledge if you so seek it. He chopped wood for our fire daily, and took time out to discuss local areas with us. 10/10 would go back to explore his gardens and the local area more!

    Daniel2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rocked up around 10pm, a slight change of plans bringing the trip a day forwards. None of which was a problem for Patrick. A wonderful stay, cosy yet spacious room and exceptional hospitality. I’m very keen on fires and the log burner was spot on! Even when my partner said “we should probably save some wood” Patrick said we have endless supply and you can never have too many fires! All in all I was a great stay and thinking of booking again for next year! Great for those who want to forget about work and phones for while!

    Mat2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • After such an enjoyable time spent away in the hut a few weeks back, we went back for a second time and it was once again perfect. There was an addition of a sanded path and a picnic bench. The picnic bench was ideal for when we sat outside of an evening playing cards with the fire-pit roaring (which Patrick lit for us and provided all necessities). I highly recommend this place for a peaceful getaway from the busy lifestyle. We cannot fault one thing!

    Katie2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I booked this property for a weekend away and it was absolutely perfect. The log fire kept us warm and the peaceful surroundings were just what we needed for some quiet time. It was a very clean property with all the amenities you needed. Patrick was the perfect host, always on hand with any quires and could not of been more accommodating. We even used his home grown veg to cook with and loved it so much we stayed for an additional night! We will definitely be back ... Paradise in Cornwall :)

  • We had a wonderful stay here this weekend. Great communication from Andy and Millie. The cottage was exceptionally clean, and made cosy for us on arrival. Lovely quiet and peaceful location, also not far from the main towns of Helston and Falmouth etc. Plenty of space for a family, baby/toddler/dog friendly. Lovely shower and generous sized bedrooms. Lovely and cosy with the log fire. The perfect relaxing getaway! We will definitely be staying again when we come to visit. The Daly’s x

The Stable offers all you need for a comfortable Cornish holiday for one or two guests. Recently refurbished, it retains traditional features mixed with modern style and amenities. Decorated with fresh colours of the sea, it is a reminder that you are within easy reach of the beautiful Cornish coastline. A quaint 17th century thatched pub, café, shop and Spanish restaurant are within walking distance. Two world class gardens and a idyllic waterside inn are close-by.
The converted Stable is a self-contained studio style property. It comprises compact yet comfortable accommodation. The stable door opens into an entrance area, which leads through to the kitchen, dining and sleeping area. In addition, there is a separate well appointed shower room. The zip link bed offers the choice of either two single beds, OR a super king bed. (Photos show both options and guests will be asked for their preference before arrival, if no preference is indicated a super king bed will be provided). The enclosed outdoor seating area provides privacy to the front of the property and the opportunity to eat al fresco and relax after a busy day. There is also off-road parking. The kitchen has a two-ring ceramic hob, sink, extractor fan, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment and a combination microwave, oven and grill. It is equipped with all you need to cater for meals throughout the day. Complimentary breakfast items are provided for the first day of your stay. There is a quaint 17th century thatched Red Lion pub, Cornish Maid café and Casa Juan Spanish restaurant within walking distance. In addition, the world class gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan offer café facilities, and the idyllic Ferryboat Inn, which sits on the shore of the magical Helford River, is just a five-minute drive or, if you want to work up an appetite, a short coastal walk away. The coast path is easily accessible and takes in the dramatic scenery between the historic maritime town of Falmouth and the sailing waters of the tranquil Helford River, inspiration for the creative writing of Daphne Du Maurier. Falmouth is a very pretty ten-minute drive along the coast, and offers an abundance of shops and excellent places to eat a wide variety of local produce, and foods from around the world.
Mawnan Smith is an idyllic Cornish village situated between the beautiful Helford River and sandy beaches of Falmouth bay. The village centres around the Red Lion, a 17th century, handsome thatched public house. Mawnan Old Church, perched above the mouth of the beautiful Helford River, is a quiet haven of peace and is situated beside the coastal path. Many hidden coves and hamlets, such as Durgan and Helford Passage are definitely worth a visit. Two wonderful sub-tropical gardens are located within walking distance, and the vibrant harbour town of Falmouth is only a ten minute drive or a short bus ride away.
  • We had a great stay at The Stable! Even though we picked the worst weekend to go to Cornwall (storm Denis) the Stable was so cosy and comfortable! Mark and Jayne have done a fantastic job, from decoration to home comforts. They also have a great guide to Cornwall, offering loads of tips, etc. which is great for those of you that don’t know the area! They also provided us with a little breakfast hamper, which was a lovely touch! I would 100% recommend the Stable for your next stay! Perfectly located, you are approx. 15 mins from Falmouth town (and Gyllyngvase beach), 5/10 mins from Maenporth and Swanpool beaches, respectively, and less than 10 mins drive from a massive Asda (the stable has all cooking facilities). Thanks again!

    Tamara2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Booked for my Dad for a few days and he was extremely happy and comfortable. The location, right in the village, was close to us but also meant Dad could go for an early morning stroll along the many footpaths and coast. Many thanks Mark.

  • Great place to stay.

    Clive2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for being great hosts, we absolutely loved both the barn and the stable, we were lucky enough to enjoy both. The accommodations were spotless, and the space was well used to provide more than enough comfortable room for a couple. Although we didn’t use it, we particularly liked the outdoor space in both as it felt private and secluded. We’d definitely love to return - both Falmouth and St Ives were great destinations, wish we could’ve explored more. Thanks again, Shaun & Lauren.

  • Fantastic little place to stay. Great location not far from Falmouth and easy walk to lovely pub. Stable is fantastically cosy yet includes everything you need. Great bathroom with towels , hair drier, shower gels etc. Kitchen perfect for light meals with microwave combo oven, fridge/ freezer etc. Breakfast items included so no need to buy anything if only staying one night. Spotlessly clean. Despite being cold weather the room was lovely and warm and quick to heat up when coming back in. We will definitely be staying again.

    Chris2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Stable provided all the amenities we needed . Everything was clean and comfortable and the location was excellent for all the local coastal paths with stunning views and great walks . Super for our winter break .

    Claire2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really nice place which is more spacious than it looks from the pictures and is comfortable to be in. It's tastefully decorated and nice to come back to after a long day out. It was really warm and guests are encouraged to make themselves at home. The place is really well equipped with all the cooking and dining equipment you could want. The hob and combi grill work surprisingly well and are perfect for cooking for couples. There was an iron and ironing board and space to hang clothes. You could tell that real effort had been put into making a special place and the hosts were really welcoming. We had a wonderful stay and Mark was very helpful and kind - a fantastic host.

The Drift Triangle is a quirky small space with beautiful views over fields to the sea. The Triangle is a perfectly proportioned cabin for two with a double bed, small kitchenette, wood-burning stove, and chairs on the decking facing the sea and morning sun. The toilet and shower are shared with the small camping field, and are located 100m from the Triangle. Drift Farm is secluded and tranquil and located only a 15-minute walk from the beautiful Helford River.
The Triangle is in the field. We have a friendly dog, Jeff, who may be around, and free range chickens. There may be a few campers in the field during the summer months.
Just 15 minutes walk away is Potager. Delicious veggie breakfast, lunch and tea in a wonderful place. Walking distance away is Port Navas Yacht Club, a great location on The Helford, and the place to go for delicious suppers, and weekend lunches. Trengilly Watha , The Ferryboat, and The Red Lion pubs less than 15 minutes drive. Falmouth, with the Maritime Museum, loads of boats and ferries to St Mawes is 6 miles away. It’s possible to hire boats, kyack’s and paddle boards from Helford Passage. Bosvathick riding stables is just round the corner, and Trebah and Glendurgan gardens both close by.
  • Drift Farm triangle is a complete and utter joy, a total haven with the most glorious views, the space itself is so inspiring and special. Shane is an amazing host, so so helpful with all our questions and needs. Couldn’t fault it! Will be back in a flash.

Located in the pretty rural village of Constantine, Nurses forms the self contained annex to The Old Doctors House. The property has its own entrance and parking space and is positioned in the centre of the village. Constantine offers a great centre for a holiday or short break and the village has local shops, a local pub and highly renowned Arts centre. The village is approximately 1 mile from the Helford River, and 5 miles from Falmouth. Nearby are the renowned Trebah Gardens
  • Sara’s annexe is excellent. Very clean and finished to a high quality. Superb bathroom, comfortable beds and great kitchen. Very dog friendly too and Sara is very friendly and welcoming. Constantine is a great base from which to explore Cornwall.

A light airy room in our private annexe near public transport, a beautiful park and an easy walk down into town where you will find familiar shops, a vast variety and abundance of cafes and restaurants. See the ferries to St. Mawes and Flushing go back and forth. Easily walk to the beaches and visit the well known Gylly beach cafe. Falmouth has so much on offer for all ages.
The annexe is joined to our house but has its own entrance. There is an internal door that has been blocked and is locked! There is plenty of on road parking.
The ‘Neyth’ is perfectly placed for the town centre, beaches and the University of Falmouth. All are within easy walking distance. It is on a residential road.
  • Very clean, beautiful room, and thoughtful touches. Lynne communicated well and we had a lovely stay.

  • A lovely neat and tidy place to stay just outside Falmouth centre. Thoughtful touches like milk, bottles water and tea/coffee and biscuits were a nice touch especially after our long drive down. Easy to park our car and zip between Penryn and Falmouth centre. Also nicely located for day trips to Helston and St Ives.
