A wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle. Walk the farm and get your hands dirty. Close enough to Louisville and surrounding areas but far enough out to be quiet, calm, and comforting. Fresh eggs and English muffins in the fridge are great starts as well.

This farm stay is a gem among the generic AirBnB experiences. Margaret (native plant specialist) and Dave (organic farmer with a CSA) provide fresh eggs for the guests to make breakfast and gave me a tour of the property, including some tips for my Spring garden. There's a good amount of farmland on their property and surrounding areas, to take a stroll. I wore wellies, as the conditions can be wet/muddy, and enjoyed seeing neighboring horses in the distance as well as the chickens, sheep, and dogs on their farm. The deck overlooks a wooded area that goes down to a small stream and is very peaceful. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect place! Exceeded our expectations!

Definitely what we were looking for in terms of a relaxing quiet getaway. Beautiful scenery, farm fresh eggs, animals to enjoy, and great hosts. Not too far from the city and all it has to explore but far enough to get away from all the hustle and bustle. We had our four and one year old and they loved everything about it. Dave was so patient with our oldest and let him even help feed the sheep. We will definitely come back when it’s warmer and there is more happening on the farm, but it was still a lot of fun and exactly what we needed.

The cabin and farm were a treat. I enjoyed that the farm felt disconnected from daily life yet so close to the areas attractions. I can't say enough well words about Dave's hospitality and attentiveness. I certainly recommend and intend returning in the near future.

The Coop was amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better spot for my weekend away! It was cozy and welcoming! Dave was so nice to work around my odd check in schedule and show me around. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer and that the weather wasn't nicer to take in more of their beautiful property! Definitely a must visit again!

The Coop was exactly what we had in mind for some alone time, yet it was close to Louisville for dining and bourbon adventures. The place is even better than expected based on pictures with original floors and chimney. The back deck is the perfect place for morning coffee or happy hour bourbon. The weather did not encourage getting out to explore, but we look forward to that next time.

Hospitality is this family’s way of life and it shows. Beautiful home in a beautiful setting.

Sharie’s home is just wonderful very spacious, cozy and extremely clean. It has all the amenities you need for your stay. The free coffee and waters were especially nice. Sharie was very responsive and checked in on us from time to time. We plan on returning next year and look forward to staying here again.

Sharie's house was the perfect place for my wedding guests to stay while we got married at Hermitage. We felt like we were in our home away from home. This was a perfect location (10 mins away, rather than the 30 mins to nearest hotels) for a wedding venue we attended at a home in Goshen. Sharie's hospitality absolutely made the weekend, and communication was great. Beautiful, comfortable, roomy home. The waters, welcome note, coffee, towels, etc. were much appreciated. We very comfortably fit 3 couples and 1 single. We highly recommend this home!!

This is definitely a “little piece of heaven“, a perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Sitting by the fire with beautiful snow outside and a good book was perfect medicine! Beautifully, well done cabin with special touches and great hospitality! We will definitely be back!

I can't say enough about this place and these hosts! It's peaceful, restful, and the perfect place to get away from all the "noise" of everyday life. Amazing place! Beautiful setting and perfect for a quiet weekend.

Dominique was an amazing host. My husband and I stayed there the weekend after our wedding and we were over the moon. The cabin is absolutely perfect, you can watch the sunrise from bed in the mornings, sit out on the front porch and enjoy the serene landscape, and cook a delicious meal. Dominique left many wonderful touches such as fresh flowers, a wedding card, and many other goodies throughout the cabin. We had everything we needed and more! We felt like family staying in the cabin and we look forward to staying there again.

If you want peace and quiet and a beautiful landscape ... as well as hosts who are good people who welcome you as friends, I highly recommend this spot. We loved it and will definitely come back again. Thank you both.

This is a wonderful rustic yet modern cabin experience in the heart of horse country. Rolling hills and beautiful terrain bring a true sense of serenity. The cabin is well decorated, well equipped, and full of little surprises. The hosts were wonderful. While we only had a short two night stay we were well taken care of. A bit far from Louisville, but we never regretted the drive and enjoyed being out in the peaceful country sipping bourbon on the porch. It’s also still accessible enough to be a good home bass for exploring the region. There isn’t a single thing I’d change about our stay.

Our stay in Goshen was a dream. Located outside of Louisville, which offers plenty to see and do, it was a beautiful and easy drive to the Kentucky countryside. The cabin was private, well-kept, comfortable, and stocked with farm fresh eggs and berries, croissants, jam, cheese, granola, bourbon!, and a few other things - touches of thoughtfulness from warm hosts that reflected our experience as a whole. Staying here enhanced our getaway and added to our overall experience, helping create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

Great value! My friends and I were able to enjoy the common areas together, my dog was pleased with the abundance of grass, and the no-fuss accommodations made for a comfortable stay on the water.

The view of the river from the master bedroom is amazing!

Amazingly beautiful and can comfortable sleep 6 guests, 2 in each bedroom. With AMPLE space. A car is necessary for getting in and out easily, and the drive in can be a little deep, but the view is so worth it! You'll catch deers and bunnies resting on the grounds if you come back at night (I always returned past midnight and the deers were just sitting out by the roads!). The lake is beautiful and there is a backyard overlooking the Ohio Lake (think that's the name of the lake). It's just gorgeous!

Jayna was quick to get in touch with us and made check-in easy! Beautiful views and we loved watching the barges and boats cruise past.

The view is spectacular. All amenities were exactly what we needed. Neighbors were friendly enough to let us borrow some of their firewood so we could enjoy a perfect fire on our final night. There is plenty of privacy and the drive to the city and attractions is a breeze. If we head back down to Louisville again this will be the place we return to.

Was an absolutely amazing time and we had a great deal of fun celebrating our friends. Would recommend this to anyone heading down that way and the views were awesome!

This was a great place to stay. Our only complaint was that Mother Nature caused us to have to leave earlier than expected due to flooding 😕 Justin was on top of the weather and gave us a few days heads up to figure out a plan B. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. The view can’t be beat!

Justin's place was an absolute dream. The views were incredible, as were the three levels of decks looking over the river and there was so much parking. The space was used well and all the finishes and furniture were very nice. I think the place feels even bigger than it looks in the pictures. Justin/Lon were very quick to respond with any questions and the place was very well stocked. A highlight of the house was certainly the novelty of an elevator. Justin's house slept our party of 10 very comfortably. I would recommend Justin's house to anyone looking for a riverside getaway!

Beautiful, spacious, & comfortable. We stayed over a long weekend in January, and enjoyed the fireplaces, beautiful view of the river, and comfortable beds (amazingly soft sheets). Lots of extra supplies, great wifi, within easy reach of grocers, restaurants, and Louisville. Highly recommend this place!

The space is large enough for 10 people to eat and hang out without feeling cramped. The deck with the grill and fire was our favorite place on the property. We would stay again if in the area.

We - my mom and four siblings with their spouses (total of nine of us) - came to Prospect to attend a wedding and this place was absolutely perfect! More beautiful than pictured, very clean, very comfortable and plenty of room for all of us - even dining around the large table. The jacuzzi in the master bath was heavenly. Loved the views and relaxing furnishings. The living room fireplace was warming and beautiful. Mom was delighted to use the elevator since she’s wheelchair bound. We all had a better than imagined experience staying at this exquisite place!

The place is great and has a homey feel to it. Rob and his wife were very nice and gave us a warm welcome. The place is just outside of Louisville and is great if you don’t like the congestion of the town.

Lovely, well maintained home. Several steps from the driveway to the door of the rental can be difficult for people who have mobility problems.

The Cozy Cottage is an idyllic cottage fitted with modern amenities and features first class hospitality by Benton - an excellent host! The Cottage is set on a peaceful Kentucky farm located just 20 minutes from downtown Louisville. We woke to the crow of a rooster and enjoyed horses and herds of cattle as our neighbors. Our three day stay left us feeling revitalized and at peace. We cannot say enough good things about the cottage, the farm setting, and the hospitality. We will be back!

This cottage is incredible - charming, safe, clean, with AMAZING surrounding farmland and beautiful sites. We stayed here for an extended period of time and truly had the best experience - the hosts are very friendly and quick to respond. Very convenient location close to local places and just ~20 minutes from downtown Louisville. A++

A quintessential Kentucky farm, with stately maple trees lining the long entrance driveway, sided by acre upon acre of beautiful pasture. The Fox Den Cottage is charming - from immaculate landscaping to the beautifully appointed interior. A very cozy and restful place to stay. The cottage is very quiet and staying in the summer - the evening is filled with the sounds of crickets and cicadas, providing a lovely natural soundtrack. Benton and his family are wonderful hosts and I would highly recommend as an excellent, 5 star, place to stay in the greater Louisville area.

Exceptional space!! With an incredibly thoughtful and kind host. We were in town on family business and this beautiful location provided the perfect respite - quite, tranquil and sweet. The kitchen was super equipped and we enjoyed an after dinner walk around the property meeting horse owners and their horses - it was quite surreal. We lived this place. Thank you!

Beautiful place. Upon opening the front door you’ve got a beautiful view of the Ohio River. There’s plenty of hang out space for a large group and the windows overlooking the river make the atmosphere better. The indoor basketball goal is fun as well, definitely recommend using the softer ball though. Would stay here again!

The location on the water was magnificent! Enjoyed the views every morning and evening. The house has everything you need with plenty of space. It was a clean house and we didn't run into anything that would make us think otherwise. The only complaint I would have was the air conditioning. The bedrooms would be supercold but the living area would stay warm. Just be prepared to manage the thermostat correctly! I highly recommend as you can take a 30 minute ride to enjoy downtown but also enjoy the scenery on the water.

The house is BEAUTIFUL and the space is perfectly set up for groups to spread out as well as gather. The back deck and water accessibility is a big plus although we weren't able to enjoy it during this time of year. Nick was an incredible host; he was warm, helpful, and very responsive before and throughout our stay. The location of the house was better than expected and our experience became a bit of a serene getaway. I will be staying here again if we make it back to KY.

We loved staying at Nick’s home! Just a quick drive to downtown Louisville, and in such a tranquil setting. We will miss taking in views of the river while drinking our coffee in the morning! The home was comfortable for our group and had plenty of space to spread out. Hope to come back in the summer to better utilize the gorgeous double deck!

Tammy's place was very comforting and we had a very good time! We're on our bourbon trail trip that weekend and while the trip itself was great, the weather wasn't with us. We're pretty exhausted by the time we got her place but once we got inside, we perked up as it's clean, spacious, and well furnished. The house was located close to grocery stores which was a big plus as we decided to cook for the night. There were 5 adults and we had plenty of rooms to choose from for the night. It's in a quiet neighborhood and we imagined that it'd be fantastic in summer time. We definitely recommend her place. Thank you again, Tammy!

Beautiful setting on the Ohio River. House and decks are nicer than the pictures show and the river view feels quite private - opposite side of River is State Park. Lots of couches that can become beds. Only 3 true bedrooms, but it can accommodate some extra kids which was really nice for us. Thanks.

We had a great stay at Dragomir’s place for the Kentucky Derby Weekend! It was very clean and easily slept all 8 of us! The view of the river was great and had kayaks for those adventurous enough to try them. In addition, our host hooked us up with extremely reliable transportation to get us to and from Louisville, including to and from Churchill Downs for The Oaks and The Derby! Highly recommend!

Drago's place was beautiful! We had the pleasure of meeting Drago, and it is quite clear that the experience of his guests is a top priority. I would highly recommend this well thought out space for a large family or group looking to spend time together while having proximity to Louisville. I may be drawn back to Kentucky more quickly now! Dragomir was a phenomenal host. His house was great and everything was clean and well kept. During our stay we had a few questions that we asked through the Airbnb app and they were answered nearly immediately. The outdoor spaces were a big hit for our group. An evening grilling and relaxing in the hot tub on a cool fall evening was perfect. Before we arrived, I had asked if extra sheets and towels would be available during our stay and I was greeted by a stack of extra clean towels and sheets in the living room. Dragomir is a very responsive and thorough host. I highly recommend staying at his home during your trip to Louisville.

Excellent experience, great location

This is a great home outside of Louisville and on the water. We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday and the neighborhood was quiet. It looks like it would be a really fun place for the summer, expecialy for a family or couples.

We had a lovely stay in Goshen! Gary's home was so close to Hermitage Farm where the majority of our events were being hosted. He had a house well equipped with almost everything we might need for a weekend away. The neighborhood where his home is located is absolutely beautiful. It was a really nice place to stay with a great view of the Ohio river. Everything was just as shown in the pictures. It also seemed like it was in a nice neighborhood. I had an issue with finding the right townhouse but the host was able to help me out very quickly.

The Inn on Main is a classy gem in the sleepy little town of Charlestown. Being Only 30 minutes from Louisville, it’s close to everything. A concert at the Iroquois brought us to town and the Inn was the perfect respite to come home to. The front porch is great for relaxing, my husband loved the piano, all of the furnishings are comfortable, the house is tastefully decorated, bathrooms are awesome with large shower-heads that make getting rid of the stress of the day a breeze. The kitchen is an amazing space, perfect for a large family dinner or game night and has everything you could ever imagine. We were only here for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The Inn on Main is a spacious house in a convenient location with local restaurants within walking distance. We were in town to experience the Kentucky Derby and had a great time. This house is located just over the Ohio River from Downtown Louisville and Churchill Downs. A short drive can get you to Charlestown State Park which has lots of great hiking trails.

The Inn is beautiful and located in the lovely small town of Charlestown. Wish we could have stayed longer to full enjoy the ambiance. 5 stars all the way.

Terrific stay at The Inn on Main! We arrived to Louisville, Kentucky later than we planned for a trade show. Our booked ahead of time hotel was horrible. It was very late and impossible to find any available hotel around. We decided to try AirBnB. Harold responded right away to our request, even though it was after check-in hours. He helped us through text messages to get all information how to get in. We were all tired (4 people) after driving 10 hours and we pleasantly surprised to find this exceptional property. New high-end furniture, beautiful window treatments, great kitchen and all the supplies were thoughtfully prepared for the guests. We could not imagine anything better than The Inn on Main and only 20 min away from the Convention Center. Many thanks to Harald. We will come back and I would recommend to anybody this wonderful tastefully decorated house!

Absolutely outstanding stay.

Harold's home was a great place to stay while visiting Louisville KY. Located approximately 20 minutes from most of the great things Louisville has to offer, it gave a quiet and relaxing place to relax after a day of exploring. The home was very spacious, with large rooms, a large kitchen, dining room, and very comfortable living area. An ideal location for a large family or even multiple couples to share. The home was very comfortably appointed, and check in was a breeze. All in all a really great stay at an exceptional value.

The host is great, and the house is large, welcoming, and in a quiet area. Very nice.

Awesome accommodations right on the Ohio river. Definely recommended.

This was our favorite AirBnB of our 8 day road trip! Though it is a little outside of Louisville, the drive is pretty, and we didn't mind. The upstairs of the house is set up perfectly for AirBnBers - super clean, locks on the doors, new (and comfortable!) furniture, a nice kitchenette with all of the essentials. It looked like there were 3 rooms that could potentially be rented, 2 of which may share a bathroom. We would definitely stay here again!

This was my first every Airbnb use, Karen answered all of my questions super fast! The room was wonderful and In a great neighborhood. If I end up back in Louisville I'll definitely stay again!

Best place to stay

Great place and Karen baked cup cakes and had other thoughtful snacks to eat! I would definitely go there again!
