Clynelish Farm Bed & Breakfast overlooks the East Sutherland village of Brora, half way between Inverness and John O'Groats. This listed farmhouse has all the grandeur and intrigue of a stately residence, but the welcome and atmosphere of a relaxed home. We are right next to Clynelish Distillery and less than a mile from Brora village where there are several places to eat and other local amenities. We have 4 bedrooms available, though only 2 on this listing. See similar listing for others
Please note this is a traditional B&B so there may be other guests here and there are no kitchen facilities available. Please let me know the make up of your group when booking so I can allocate rooms and price accordingly. Single Occupancy £50. Triple Occupancy £100. This working farm is half way between Inverness and John O'Groats overlooking the village of Brora. We offer travellers a warm welcome, comfortable room and delicious breakfast. Whether you're a returning visitor, enthusiastic cyclist, golfer or just experiencing everything the beautiful Highlands has to offer for the first time, Clynelish Farm will provide the perfect place to lay your head, relax and refuel. This historic farmhouse was built by the Duke of Sutherland in 1865. Guests wind their way down the tree lined drive way to be greeted by an impressive front entrance. Situated next to the Distillery of the same name, this is the perfect place to start exploring Sutherland. The village has a pub, restaurant, chippy, Chinese and Indian, so plenty of choice for a Highland village! Head East and you'll find Brora beach is one of the nicest in the highlands. Head West and wind your way up some of the beautiful glens in the area. We run sheep and cows as our main business, so during spring and early summer you'll perhaps witness some of natures miracles if you take a wander around the local lanes!
Situated right behind Clynelish distillery about 1/2 mile from the main A9. Rolling farmland with mountains and glens in one direction and the North Sea the other way.

  • Welcome arrival and huge open fire in the communal lounge to relax after a busy day

    Jane2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable stay and excellent breakfast. Distillery is literally a stones throw away and town is a short walk or drive with full amenities. We appreciated the helpful tips for driving routes and local attractions.

    Krista2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a delightful stay in this warm and cosy farmhouse. Breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for Victoria, she was an excellent and accommodating host. We were delighted to celebrate our engagement with Victoria and some other lovely guests from the US. We would recommend this stay to anyone wanting to explore the highlands and enjoy fire in the evenings.

  • Beautiful place just next to the Clynelish and Brora distilleries (the latter will reopen in 2020). The house still carries the charm of the old mansion days when one of the previous distillery owners used to call it his home. Delicious breakfast is served in a spacious dining room with sea view. Guests can also use a salon with fireplace and enjoy a glass of Clynelish whisky or local gin from the bar there. I highly recommend this place!

A pleasant room and a help-yourself breakfast in our family home in a lovely setting next to a working water mill in the coastal village of Golspie.
We have a room available on a hostel-style basis in our friendly Scottish / Kiwi home. The Mill House is right on the edge of the village of Golspie in the Highlands of Scotland, only 150 metres from the main road (A9), but in a very tranquil and beautiful spot. The room has a comfortable double bed and plenty of storage. There's a shared bathroom and a comfortable family sitting room with a log burner. It's a family home, pleasant but not fancy, indeed a bit scruffy in places. We have two very small children who are generally pretty well-behaved but they do scatter toys round the place and might break into song over breakfast. There's plenty of space for storing bikes and drying boots and waterproofs. The house is in a lovely setting, next to a working water mill, built in the 1860's, which we run (find Golspie Mill online to find out more ). We invite you to help yourself to breakfast - we offer Golspie Mill porridge, cereal, homemade bread when time permits, fruit, yogurt, tea, coffee etc or if you prefer you're welcome to use the kitchen to cook your own breakfast. We're also happy to point you in the direction of nice places to eat out locally.
Golspie is a small coastal village, between the sea and the hills. It's an hours drive from Inverness and an hours drive from the spectacular north coast. The area is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with great cycling on quiet roads, an excellent mountain bike track, lovely walks along the shore and through the woods. The popular Lands End - John o Groats cycle route passes the top of the road (150 metres from the house). The Loch Fleet National Nature Reserve is a couple miles down the road and is a lovely place to watch wading birds on the mudflats or look for seals at low tide. Nearby are nice beaches, good places to surf and kayak and we're only 30 minutes from some great hills. Royal Dornoch, Golspie and Brora golf courses are all within very easy reach and welcome visitors. In Golspie, there is a handful of shops, including a small supermarket, a chemist and an excellent hardware/gift store. Bigger shops are in Tain, a 25 minute drive away, where you can also visit the Glemorangie Distillery.
  • Staying at Becky's place is really comforting. It is a nice and warm family home and she is great host. We have slept very well in the bed and the room was also very comfortable. Becky has some great reccomendations for places to see or to grab a bite. We have experienced the real highlands here, it was a great weekend.

    Thalita2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, this is an amazing stay. Large room, free breakfast, super friendly family, and the aforementioned tour of the mill. Great location too for walks (sea and castle) and a strong sense of the highlands topography. One of the most hospitality stays I've ever had on air b and b😊

    Claire2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is indeed the home of a family of superhosts. The hosts are lovely and friendly and I would recommend their home to anyone with a particular love of historic sites too. The room is large and the bed comfortable. The wifi was great. Lots of local knowledge happily shared and guests are truly welcomed in to the family. I look forward to going back!

    Linsey2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional listing with hosts to match. Authentic, restored historic mill and house. Comfortable large room. Good wi-fi. Generous and friendly welcome from Bob and Becky. Exceptional value, highly recommended.

  • After arriving in Edinburgh, Golspie was our first destination of a 5-day-roundtrip through Scotland. In this Airbnb, you will get a very friendly family, a hot cup of tea, hopefully a tour through the unique watermill, a tidy and comfy bedroom and, most importantly, a very good talk. Take your time, sit at their table and learn some thing about life in Scotland, you will "be" in their life for a short time - which we liked very much. We didn't plan all our stops and they were very helpful. Thank you for this wonderful start of our breathtaking tour. We even got the flour through customs, but not without questions... ;-)

    Philipp2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • A super spot nearby to Inverness and lovely people.

    Michele2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to stay. We saw a badger running along the road and I was buzzing because an owl flew right across the road in front of our car!! A great family home where we were made very welcome by Becky and Bob. Comfortable bed in a big room and we loved the fairy lights around the ceiling, might even copy the idea! 😊 We were delighted when Bob offered to show us around the mill on the day of our departure and I got some super photo's.

    Shirley2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

My place is close to the beach. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
Balranald Shepherds Huts are just outside the quiet village of Brora in the Highlands of Scotland.  The hut sleeps up to three with one double bed and a single bunk.  A log burner keeps the hut cosy with wood supplied..  A kettle and toaster with crockery  as well as all bedding is supplied in each hut.   Sitting right next to the huts is the bothy, with kitchen facilities, Oven hob , microwave and fridge.  The toilet and shower area benefit from underfloor heating.  All towels supplied. Outside is a seating area with use of a bbq hut with a small charge on arrival if you wish to use and additional benches and fire pit for those wanting a slightly more adventurous evening, perhaps even catching the northern lights with an honesty box in bothy for payment for logs, The cost is per hut, dogs are very welcome, a maximum of two dogs per hut.  There is a travel cot and bedding available if needed.. Just five minutes off the A9 on the NC500 route. This is a superb location for a walking, driving, cycling, fishing or golfing holiday.  The local Clynelish Distillery is just a stones throw away and does tours throughout the year.  Alternatively you may just wish to enjoy the peace and quiet! Brora is a short twenty minute walk away with a choice of shops and eating places.  Bikes available too. Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us -  we will do our utmost to help. (We are dog friendly with a small charge of £5 per night per dog payable on arrival also small charge £3 per bag for BBQ coals and logs for fire pit payable on arrival) wood burning quirky hot tub & sauna cabin £30 charge for both or £20 each per day if using payable on arrival.

  • We loved our stay at Andrina’s huts. She was very accommodating and friendly. Couldn’t fault our stay, would highly recommend.

    Conor2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hospitality, super cosy place. Bbq hut was excellent to use in the freezing cold and the sauna an absolute treat and the hot tub is a nice touch. Thank you Andrina 😀

    Stuart2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot along the NC500. Cute, comfy hut with everything you need, and a separate kitchen/bathroom area. Would be a great place for a group of friends to hire out both huts and spend a weekend! Loved the hot tub, although we had a little trouble keeping it warm, but the hosts helped us out. Would recommend.

    Annie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful, relaxing place excellent hosts

    Simon2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time visiting Andrina at the huts. We didn’t think it was possible to beat our first stay 2 years ago but were excited to see the changes that had been made. This time we decided to spend Christmas up there instead of new year and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision. We were greeted with open arms and made to feel so welcome, Andrina has thought of absolutely everything and the facilities are amazing. This time we were able to enjoy the hot tub on Christmas Eve night which was just fantastic. We drank whiskey and gazed at the stars for hours. On Christmas Day we were able to enjoy the incredible views from the comfort of the NEW sauna!!! Totally out of this world. A massive thanks to all who worked hard to fuel these luxury extras. The team have been working so hard together and the space is truly looking fantastic. Exciting to see the further developments when we return later in 2020!

    Christina2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The drive up the A9 was beautiful and this spot gave great access to other gems. The hot tub was a real draw (do make sure you listen to the advise and cool it down because it’s HOT) and we had a really comfy nights sleep. They had just had a sauna delivered that wasn’t quite ready to use but will be soon - I fully recommend staying here 👍🏻

The fish n chip restaurant recommended across the road was the best dish we had had so far. The breakfast provided was also brilliant, scrambled eggs was a lovely surprise! The location is also great for those who’d like to go a morning run by the Coast! Thanks again for having us :)

  • Jacqui's B&B is right on the road through Golspie directly overlooking the sea. The outside looked smart and inviting and we were not disappointed once we got to our room! Beautifully decorated, large, airy room with a full-size bathroom which was an added bonus. Lovely breakfast the next day too. We stayed in a number of B&Bs throughout our trip on the NC500 and I think this was my favourite. Jacqui was a lovely, friendly host and communication from start to finish was perfect!

The thoughtfulness that has went in to the space and its comforts is noticeable and very touching. Also, if I wasn't already vegan, I'd now be a convert as the food was so good and very generous with portions! I'd recommend this to anyone, especially if you're after the best night sleep. Everything you need is to hand, its warm and cosy, comfy beds and plenty of hot water if you fancy a soak in the bath after a days walking. Anne was on hand if we had needed anything. All in all a very lovely few days.

The small Highland village of Rogart is just two miles away. N.B. We can provide a travel cot, highchair and stairgates, if required
The Highlands is a wonderful place to visit with breathtaking scenery, many interesting local sights and activities and an abundance of wildlife. The nearest community is the small village of Rogart, two miles away. There are a few houses scattered along the route to Rogart but none nearby. Burnside is joined to another of our cottages, Jock's Cottage, which is also a holiday let - very similar in style. The Blarich Lodge is a short 3 min walk away down the driveway . Behind the cottage are miles of empty rolling hills, mountains and rivers which you are free to explore. The family who own the Blarich Estate and who live in the Lodge are very approachable and will happily help you with any enquiries, but equally they will leave you alone to your own devices and respect your privacy.
  • Annelie's cottage is a perfect spot for some time away. It was incredibly clean with plenty of space for 7 of us. The check in system was super easy and Annelie was available to contact with any queries in the run up to our stay and throughout. The location is beautiful and we enjoyed some lovely, long walks before returning to put our feet up in front of the wood burning fire (a real treat)! I would recommend Burnside to anyone, be it families or groups of friends like ourselves. Thank you for everything!

  • What a fantastic place. Stunning location, land to roam in, a river, log burner. The cottage is lovely and warm tastefully done and so relaxing. Wine and crisps on arrival are a great touch oh and fresh flowers. The wine 🍷 was lovely. So much to do in so little time we will definitely be back to Rogart. Thanks Annelie.

    Mike2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very happy and comfortable few days at Burnside Cottage, and we will definitely return. The children spent most of their time outdoors, and our dog (a greyhound) loved being able to get a good run off the lead in the empty enclosed field in front of the house. We could happily have filled our days not even having to leave the estate. The display of stars at night time was simply breathtaking, away from the light pollution of built up areas. Not to be missed. The wood burning stove was a welcome addition to the lounge, though the house also has good central heating with piping hot radiators. We were very glad we'd taken our wellies. You'll need them to be able to take full advantage of the estate. There's a large picnic table in the front garden. I can imagine sitting outside with a drink in the summer months, listening to the river. Idyllic.

    Alison2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is equipped with everything you need. The WiFi is a bit weak on the chest - but what makes it all in such an environment! From the windows you look into the green, after the house rushes a stream, where you can swim (with us it was unfortunately too rainy and cold). If you have any questions, you can contact Brigitte directly on site. Too bad we only had 3 days

    Emily2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place in a great location. We were well looked after from the moment we arrived. Already looking at options for staying again later in the year.

    Chris2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean, stylish and had everything we needed, including items that many places forget (like an ice tray and a bottle opener). The towels were nice and soft, the bed was comfortable and the apartment was warm despite the chilly weather outside. Don was readily available and happily supplied more wood and firelighters when we started running low. He was very friendly and a great host - he even included a little 'christmas gift' for us because we were there over the 25th, and the fridge had some milk, jams and butter already in it. Really lovely extra touches! The only two suggestions I could make would be to perhaps have a tray in the shower for soap, shampoo, etc as it's quite a small space and bending down to retrieve items from the floor is a bit of a squeeze; and to perhaps look at some footstools or a more comfortable single seater chair to accompany the sofa as it was quite a snug fit. We spent a few nights reading in front of the fire and it got a little uncomfortable after a while. Those are honestly the only two critiques I could give though. Everything else was fantastic and I couldn't reccomend the place more. The surrounding area is also beautiful (the beach is amazing) and everyone we came into contact with was very friendly. A truly lovely holiday all round!

    Jessica2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Don is a fantastic host. The apartment is immaculate, spotlessly clean and super comfortable. Highly recommend!

    Bella2019-12-17T00:00:00Z

    Jennifer2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here. It's warm and cosy, has a lovely interior, great kitchen facilities and is only a 10 minute walk into Dornoch town centre. All the small touches - tea, biscuits, slippers etc made the stay that much more comfortable, and Don was really friendly and responsive. Will definitely book again next time we're in the Highlands!

A caravan on a croft (traditional small farm) in the Scottish Highlands. Enjoy glamping here with stunning views, surrounded by nature and animals. Feel free to join in the daily work on the croft or explore the stunning surroundings. Go hiking or mountainbiking in the hills, explore stonecircles and cairns or take a trip to the beach, Dunrobin castle or Glenmorangie distillery - each just a short drive away. We are tucked away at the end of the road, yet within a short drive off the A9.
The caravan is basic and comfy: it has a double bed and a seating area, which can be turned into a bed, too, if necessary. So it would suit a couple or a family with up to two young kids, but not two couples / four adults. There is a kitchenette with a gascooker, fridge and sink. The water comes from the mains and power is connected, too. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are located in the big shed a few metres walk away from the caravan. They are shared with other holiday guests. Our fully equipped big kitchen has a generous seating area, gas cooker, oven, fridge and microwave. In the unisex bathroom guests can use two showers and an eco friendly composting toilet. The views stretch across the hills and the valley of Grudie, through which the river Brora runs. You can go for hikes here and explore thousands of years of history, from cairns (stone graves) and stone circles to the remains of a clearance village (forcefully cleared in the 18th and 19th century). The caravan is parked up on the Croft and if need be (when it gets too windy) can easily be towed a few metres back beside the old shed building, where it's sheltered. This doesn't change your view much. The main house is a short distance away, so guests can enjoy their peace and quiet. We are a working farm with sheep, cows, horses, chickens, dogs and cats. The livestock are distributed across the fields of the croft, though it might happen that the sheep are grazing around the caravan or bring their lambs here for a snooze. If you fancy, you can collect your fresh breakfast egg from our happy hens. Our ponies happily have themselves brushed or taken for walks. You can also join in the croft activities, if you're up for it. Depending on the time of year, we are lambing, shearing, making hay, feeding out or shifting sheep with our collie dogs. We are surrounded by nature and wildlife, with deer, rabbits, pheasants and owls living in our woods. By going for an early morning or a late night walk you've got good chances of encountering them. From September onwards, the Aurora Borealis can be seen dancing in the sky.
Our croft is situated 1 1/4 drive North of Inverness, 15 minutes from the A9 in the tranquil crofting community of Rogart. The small village of Pittentrail, 10 minutes from here, has a little Spar shop with a post office. The pub opposite is open in the evenings, there's a bar and they do lovely meals, too. Various beaches, the Glenmorangie Distillery and Dunrobin Castle and Gardens are within a short drive. There is a seal colony down the road at Loch Fleet and there is a popular mountainbike track in Golspie. Dornoch has a few nice shops and restaurants an a little museum. The North Coast 500 (A9) is 15 minutes from here.
  • A beautiful place - once you've arrived, you'll never want to leave. I stayed ten nights for writing. The caravan provides all the essentials one needs out there to stay cozy, comfy, happy. The animals are better entertainment than any Tv. Steffi & her family make every wish you might have come true. They're lovely people with a good sense of what makes life, life. And just a private detail: I saw about one rainbow a day up there - how crazy is that?

  • A cosy little caravan lost in the Scottish highlands. Amazing view just near a cute farm. Definitely one of my favorite places so far.

  • Stefanie is a great hostess. She is very attentive to all our wishes. The view from the caravan is wonderful. The area is beautiful. I can recommend the accommodation to 100% :). Also the deer fillet and the vegetables from the garden we bought at Stefanie was delicious !!

  • Arriving late in the evening we were met with a warm welcome and a roaring fire. Well located for local amenities, peaceful surroundings with a clean and relaxing homely environment very welcome after a busy day exploring.

  • A beautiful cozy cottage, everything you need for a relaxing stay. There are beautiful views and it’s a lovely quiet location. We took our dogs and it was great to be able to let them out into the secure space at the back of the cottage. There is a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy lounge area with plenty of seating and log burner. There is a bedroom downstairs with two single beds and mezzanine bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom has a shower over bath (good water pressure) and underfloor heating which keeps it nice and cosy. Everywhere is freshly decorated, light and bright. Charlotte and Richard are great hosts, very helpful and friendly, they are available if you need them during your stay whilst respecting your privacy. I thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone thinking of visiting the area.

    Tanya2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here when Storm Ciara was causing havoc, we were up visiting family so know the area. We decided to try to stay in an Airbnb rather than put out elderly parents. Springfield was perfect. Check-in was easy and we were in communication all journey as the weather was delaying us. The accommodation was very spacious and we loved the double-height open-plan kitchen/lounge with a much needed log-burner. Parking was never an issue due to 2 allocated spaces directly outside of the cottage. We would highly recommend the cottage and look forward to returning ourselves in the future.

    Suzanne2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, secluded yet still really close to Dornoch and Tain by car. Excellent communication and easy to find using the Google maps coordinates. Private garden area available ar rear which was great for the dog. A lovely relaxing 2 days.

    Leanne2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and lovely people. We would definitely stay again.

    Gareth2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean, cosy and comfortable place in a rural setting off the A9 north of Dornoch. Charlotte & Richard are good communicators providing lots of information. Recommended

    Nadia2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing weekend staying at Charlotte and Richard's cottage. The cottage was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed - Charlotte was really thoughtful and included a travel cot, highchair and nappy bags as she knew we had young children. The location is also perfect - close to the A9 so that it only takes minutes to get to the lovely beaches of Dornoch but also completely calm and secluded. Our 2 year old son absolutely loved the cows in the field opposite the house. The area also has some fantastic wood walks and Charlotte and Richard provided excellent leaflets about what was available. We highly recommend both the cottage and the area for a great weekend away.

Our vision was to create self-catering accommodation in the centre of the charming town of Dornoch. Our self-contained 2 berth Glamping Pod (King Size bed or Twin) is modern and quirky with a high spec finish. Its within short walking distance to restaurants, pubs, cafes, the world renowned Royal Dornoch Golf Course and Dornoch beach, one of the most wonderful beaches in the Highlands. Accommodation includes off road parking and an outdoor decked BBQ area to relax when the sun shines!
This is a bespoke glamping pod that we have designed and finished to a luxury standard. Its a small space but its quirky, unique and fun! :-)
The pod is located in the secluded corner of a residential area in the centre of Dornoch. There is no mountain view but that definitely has its advantages with many local attractions just a very short walk from Foxy's Den. Within 5 minutes walk to the world famous Royal Dornoch Golf Course, Dornoch's beautiful beach and many local amenities, restaurants and pubs also close by.
  • Great little place that is close to the center of town.

  • Amazing little Den. It has everything you could need. All of the little Foxy touches make it that little bit more special. Also had a pint of milk in the fridge and some chocolate marshmallows (tea cakes) on the side. It was impeccably clean and check in was easy. A great use of the space and we loved every minute of our stay. Thanks guys. :)

Ideal for Key Workers to Tain and surrounding area- Only 2 min walk is supermarket, train station, walking at the links and beautiful Dornoch Firth. Guest kitchenette with fridge, microwave etc, dining area, - Accomodation is separate to the owners, and shares the main entrance.
The room is compact but comfortable and our place is in a nice quiet part of Tain with endless walks just round the corner at Tain links, where we have beautiful views on the Dornoch Firth and in summer you might see the Osprey or the Otter fishing in the beautiful sunset-one of the few places on the east coast facing a west coast sunset! - we are so lucky to have this on our doorstep!
Our neighbourhood is quiet on the edge of town but all High Street amenities are nearby - Tescos, Platform 1864 Restaurant for all meals and great live music on Saturdays - a minute walk. The links with beautiful views/sunsets on the Dornoch Firth is a minute walk in the opposite direction so we have the best of both worlds
  • We are French, despite the language barrier we recommend without hesitation. Lesley and her husband are very hospitable, listening and giving tips for tours. The breakfasts are very big and good! The rooms are very clean and we have lots of little attention .... Thank you for this unforgettable stay !!!

This comfortable, semi-detached house is in a peaceful location in the village of Brora. It's close to the beach, the golf course, and the harbour. The house is set in a large garden and makes a great base for exploring the area.
This is a pleasant, comfortable house set in a large garden. Accommodation is in two double bedrooms and a sofa bed in the sitting room.
Brora is a small coastal village, just over an hours drive from Inverness and an hours drive from the spectacular north coast. This is a great place to unwind - there's a lovely beach, pleasant walks by the river, quiet back roads, and three golf courses within easy reach, all welcoming visitors. The Clynelish Distillery is on the edge of the village and welcomes visitors year round. Nearby are nice beaches, good places to surf and kayak and we're only 30 minutes from some great hills. In Brora, there is a handful of shops, including a small supermarket. Bigger shops are in Tain, a 25 minute drive away, where you can also visit the Glemorangie Distillery.
  • Becky’s place is a really nice place and great location definitely be back again 5 stars from us 👍

  • A great little place. Spacious and warm, clean and bright. Huge garden would be great in summer and very close to Brora golf club and beach walks- lovely! Becky had left all the essentials eg coffee, tea, milk, bread and jam, and even breakfast cereal for the morning. Great after a long drive from the south. Bed was comfortable too. Thanks Becky. A perfect stay. Well come again!

Lovely clean, two storey, large private cottage on the picturesque 400 acre Blarich Estate in the Highlands. The cottage has all modern utilities. It’s just 10 minutes drive off the main A9 and coast road, 54 miles north of Inverness city centre. Just a few minutes’ drive away there is a local pub and small shop. The nearby towns and Inverness itself offer plenty of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and theatre. We are part of the NC500
You are renting the entire house, complete with living room and kitchen. The property has three bedrooms: Room One is downstairs and has a double bed, upstairs Room Twois two singles and Room Three can be either two singles or a large double. All have a shared downstairs bathroom (bath, shower & toilet). All the bedrooms have storage space. We provide fresh bedding & towels, free and unlimited Wifi, TV/DVD player with Freeview, hairdryer, full kitchen facilities with basic foodstuffs including tea & coffee, washing machine & dryer, and ironing equipment. The house is warm and cosy with plenty of hot water. The house is set back and quiet, with private garden area and direct access to the entire Blarich Estate where there is hill walking and fishing, plus a full size basketball/tennis court.
Jock's Cottage is joined to another of our cottages, Burnside Cottage, which is also a holiday let - very similar in style.
  • A lovely cottage with everything you need for exploring the local area. We were a group of 4 adults and two children and it suited our needs perfectly for a couple of days walking in the hills. Welcoming touches like flowers in the rooms and the bottle of wine and crisps were gratefully received after a long journey. We picked a rainy couple of days but there was plenty of hot water and a log burner for when we returned rather soggy from our walks. We hope to return again and for longer next time - hopefully in the sunshine.

    Fiona2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Let me just say: Wow! This is an amazing and charming cottage. I’d be thrilled to go back any time! As if the cottage and little garden isn’t enough, then the view and surroundings will pull you in. Beautiful hills marks the horizon - I do believe hobbits could live there. The fields, the little river and the sheep grazing around the place makes a peaceful and yet lively atmosphere. Also, very clean and funny books.

    Katrine2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Sutherland. The cottage is wonderful and fully furnished in a perfect position to explore the surroundings! Great hospitality and prompt replies from Annelie. Amazing place to stay with family and friends. Stunning valley!

    Isabelle2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Annelie’s place is cosy, clean and welcoming. She was helpful and her communication was speedy. Greeted with a bottle of wine and nibbles! Great little touches provided like music dock. Amenities outstanding - we used the tennis court, the climbing wall, swam in the stream, ate in the garden. Such a great property and would have happily stayed longer. Thank you Annelie!

    Freya2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Snow fowls in the garden, swimming in the river behind the house, panoramic views!

    Rob2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is really typical, near a large farm where you can use the tennis court which also acts as a basketball court (balls, balls and snowshoes are available). Our kids enjoyed hitting the ball in the middle of the sheep. The cottage is also located about twenty meters from a beautiful river a little furious. Possibility of hiking very quickly in the moor among the sheep. The interior is very warm with a small fireplace in which you can make fire even in summer (wood is also provided). There is a very specific guide to all activities, restaurants, pubs around the corner. For shopping, there is a small Tesco in Lairg at 13km. In short, you can go there with your eyes closed, you will not be disappointed!

We had a lovely stay, the room was full of little details and very comfortable. The breakfast was excelent and you can choose from a wide variety of options. Historic Tain is the ideal base for your Highland get-away. The North Coast 500 and the North Highland Way both pass the doorstep for those keen on cycling and walking. For the golfers we are a short distance to the Royal Dornoch Golf Course as well as having our own 120 year old Tom Morris designed course. The historians among you will love Tain and the surrounding areas for the Pictish Trails, and the Tain Through Time museum will tell of these and The 15th century Pilgrimages. The beautiful beaches of Dornoch, Portmahomack and the Seaboard villages are always worth a visit, you might even see a dolphin or two! The Granny Flat at St Mary's is a self contained one bedroom flat with parking in our driveway. The flat has its own entrance to the side of the building and you'll find a kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom suitable for two adults. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern appliances. As we are busy out and about every morning we can offer bread, cereals, tea and coffee for you to help yourself at your own leisure. The bathroom has a shower with a steam facility and a roll top bath to relax in. It also has a pulley so you can hang up your washing at the end of your busy day. We can provide a lockable area for your bicycles if required, please let us know if we can help or provide anything else.
The Granny Flat is yours for the duration of your stay. There is a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen with your own door and parking for your complete privacy (no lounge area).
Tain is a lovely wee town with great walks with lots to see and do. Take a short drive to some beautiful beaches where you might see the occasional dolphin or seal.

ABI Ashcroft Exclusive 2016 Pitrgudy Holiday Park is located just outside the historic town of Dornoch. This area is renowned for its golf courses, beaches and beautiful scenery. This is an immaculate caravan which is a real home away from home.

The well equipped kitchen complete with microwave, cooker and fridge/freezer. There is a free-standing table and chairs allowing the family to eat together. An L-shaped sofa provides comfortable seating for all the family. It is set around a low level tv unit with dvd player and modern electric fire.
Good restaurants, pubs and take-aways. Beautiful beach and countryside walks. Excellent golf courses in Dornoch and nearby.
  • A great place to stay - so pleased to have found it. My husband and I stayed for a week in the latter half of September. The site was blissfully peaceful and the weather was glorious. The caravan has a decent sized kitchen and lounge area and so was perfect for cooking and relaxing. There is also a nice deck area that catches the sun that we used a lot. It is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk into Dornoch. Moira was a perfect host. She sent a few messages prior to our stay and was was also on hand to respond to queries during our stay. We will definitely book again next time we're in the Highlands.

  • Pitgrudy is a really nice place to stay. The accommodation is very clean, tidy and the host was very quick at responding. The location is very good for exploring that part of Sutherland and also the Black Isle - and Inverness isn’t too far away if you don’t mind just under an hours drive. Near by, Dornoch has plenty to offer - although we only used the supermarket. This our third stay at the property and would certainly stay there again.

  • The caravan is spotlessly clean, very cosy and lovely and warm. It has everything you need and is located about a mile from Dornoch centre. My friend and I found it ideal for our golfing trip and would not hesitate to recommend it to any of our friends and family.

  • Moira was a fantastic host. We booked this accommodation as we were working in the area. The home itself was immaculate. All the amenities you would need to feel like being at home. Everything was brand new. Really modern decor. Towels, cleaning products and toiletries all provided for. Communication was 1st Class and Moira was more than helpful with any questions I had. The Holiday Park was also really well set up with good laundry facilities. The site is a mixture of owners and holidaymakers. Would definitely come back with my family for a holiday and Dornoch is beautiful, the surrounding areas are some of the most beautiful surroundings in Scotland. Also perfectly located for Golfers with Royal Dornoch just down the road. I recommend staying here and hope you enjoy your time as much as I did.

  • A nice, comfortable place to stay. Very quiet despite a road nearby. It’s only a short drive to nearby Dornoch which has plenty of amenities. Also only a few miles drive to the fabulous beach at Embo. The accommodation was well equipped and very comfortable. Would certainly consider staying there again.
