  • This was this highlight of our trip. Loved the small town setting and had an amazing time at the attached pub. Locals are amazing and Sinead is the best! So much space to stretch out and very comfortable. When we visit Ireland again we will stay here again for sure!

    Shannon2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sinéad was a wonderful host. Right from the start, she made us feel welcome with a nice note, a box of chocolates, and everything we needed to make a nice cup of tea! There was even a very helpful folder containing information about the apartment and local area. This was the perfect central location for our planned daily road trips to various parts of Ireland, and it was great to have a place that felt like home to go to at the end of the day!

    Caitlin2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely stay - couldn't be happier with our experience! The rooms were spacious and clean. The heat and hot water worked very well. The location is excellent for exploring the sometimes under-appreciated midlands of Ireland. I highly recommend this location. Thank you, Sinéad!

  • I booked this Airbnb as a present for my partner for Christmas both Ray and Cathy were brilliant to deal and so helpful. The cottage was so beautiful and so warm and cosy. The night we booked storm Jorge hit and we had a lovely night stuck in the cottage with a big fire and lots of food and drinks till the storm passed. The little touches and beautiful layout can't wait to return. The hosts could not do enough for us and were so helpful

    Alice2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ray and Cathy were kind enough to lit the fireplace so the house was nice and warm when we got there. The entire place was very welcoming and the bar in the corner just gave it that little extra touch that you can't get in many places. We couldn't have found a better place to spend our night while we were visiting Sligo and Galway. Next time I go to that area I'll definitely look and see if it is available.

  • This was a awesome stay! A little off the beaten path but that’s our style! Couldn’t have asked for a cooler place. Movies, bar, turf fire and great accommodations!!

    Alex2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute gem. By far the best Airbnb we’ve stayed in. All the extra touches and of course the bar! Ray welcomed us and had the fire roaring, a welcome sight in the middle of the storm. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. Highly recommend for a night or two of relaxation and peace. Will definitely be back soon.

    Orla2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A very quiet location. No wifi, good or bad depending on your POV. Lovely hosts, two lovely dogs, fresh air and not far from anything but feeling a million miles away from everything. Loved the homely feel and the historical hangings and of course that home bar....what a treat! Recommend!

    Brandon2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • Marie's cottage was a great place to relax in the Irish countryside, not far from Roscommon Town, Strokestown, and Castlerea. Marie greeted us warmly, made sure we were settled in with a nice fire, and messaged to see if we needed anything. The kitchen worked out great as we always like to cook for ourselves and it had everything we needed. Keep in mind there is no wi-fi so I picked up a vodafone SIM and tethered to my phone while here. We will see you again and recommend your place to family and friends when they visit the area.

    Chris2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • It is hosts like Marie that make your experience in Ireland truly memorable. The cottage is absolutely amazing. It was cold outside but the cottage was very warm and cosy, we spent the evening close to the stove enjoying the amazing smell of turf. The beds and pillows were so comfortable that we had one of our best nights of sleep. We had fresh delicious breads and scones for breakfast. Could not recommended the place enough, THANKS AGAIN MARIE! xxxx

    Charlotte2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Little piece of heaven with us. Quiet, tranquil place. Great for walks. Very stylish cottage.

    Alan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to ring in the new year.... From beginning to end our trip was wonderful. Marie is the nicest lady you will meet she went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time recommending places to go etc. When we arrived she left some lovely home made bread and scones which were delicious some milk and butter was also in the fridge tea coffee sugar and cereals. She also had the stove lighting for us which made the cottage so warm and welcoming. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 kids our children adored this place and were so sad to leave the bedroom is a good size room and then there is a pull out sofa bed in the sitting room which was very comfortable. There is everything you will need in the cottage and our host even supplied us with more turf for the fire. We had the pleasure of meeting Marie’s husband Tom who is also a gent. The cottage is out of the town on a lovely lane which we went for a walk up it was so nice and we did not see one car come up the lane which makes it so safe for children we made sure they knew where they could play and where was out of boundaries it was exactly what we were looking for a little break in the country side with peace and quite and not far from lovely restaurants and walks to name a couple we went to Loughminane park and moate park which was recommended to us by Marie. We will defiantly be back in the summer to explore some more of the lovely places this part of the country has to offer. Thank you so much Marie for our lovely stay xx

    Aine2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is nicely decorated and when we arrived, Marie had the turf fire burning which was a very warm welcome. Everything was very well thought out, clean, comfortable, spacious and modern. Marie is very helpful, friendly and responded quickly any questions we had. If you want peace and quiet away from it all, than I strongly recommend you stay here.

If you want to experience staying in a property that is bursting with history then this is the place for you and your friends or family. Rookwood Gate Lodge is an 18th Century building that my family bought in 1980 and modernised over the years.
If you are looking for a fancy accommodation with room service etc then unfortunately we can't help! If you are looking for an experience then we can. Our 18th century gate lodge was, as the name suggests, where the gatekeepers of the famous Rookwood Estate lived. The main entrance of the estate is directly across the road from the lodge and the gatekeepers would open and close the gates for various visitors and nobles. Purchased in 1980 we have put enormous work in to not only making it a comfortable and quaint cottage but we have also maintained the character and essence of this Gate Lodge. It is the perfect place to explore the Midlands and West of Ireland and retire in the evening to a beautiful open fire and a glass a wine! And don't be deceived by the outside image of the lodge. It is much more roomy in the inside than it appears.
Rookwood is a scenic townland approximately 1.5 miles from Athleague village. It is a beautiful area for walking and cycling and the perfect spot to chill out and just get away from all the hussle and bustle of everyday life. Located 7 miles from Roscommon Town and 40 miles from Galway City is an ideal location for exploring the Midlands and West of Ireland. Even a day trip to the Capital is easy peasy!
  • Cosy and quaint house in a very quiet, rural location on the outskirts of the village of Athleague. Possible to walk into the town in about 20 minutes or so. Especially loved the sitting room with its open peat fire.

    Simon2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice little cottage. Very cosy with more than enough room. To escape the city I would highly recommend it

    Julian2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax

    Nigel2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is very special, it is like a stay in the past. You must like old furniture and old-fashioned style (we did). It is in a quiet and awesome surrounding area. You must know that it is about 1 hour to Galway, 1.5 hours to Westport. It is really worth to stay there.

    Alexandra2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible value and comfortable gem. It was our 2nd time enjoying the gate house and Mary’s hospitality. Can’t wait to return again soon! Feels like home to us.

    Angela2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We just loved this place. Mary showed us around and even got the peat fire going for us .. what a treat that was . A quiet location. We slept so well. Great advice on where to visit especially as we had so little time.

    Julie2018-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Expect to be warmly greeted, treated with respect and importance. As this is an 18th century historic property, there are some amenities that may not be available such as air conditioning, but the gate house is clean, comfortable and wasn’t too warm at any point during our stay. We did have quite a bit of traveling to do and found it a bit of a drive to reach some destinations but there are larger towns and cities within 20-30 min drive. Car rental recommended.

    Angie2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had 6 people 3 adults and 3 children house was fantastic. Spacious enough for us all. The comfort in the house was amazing and we really loved place. Would highly recommend. If we are back that way would definitely book again. Price is very reasonable also. The house is really old and we loved that about it. Hosts were lovely and kind.

Explore quintessential Irish countryside while enjoying the comfort and charm of "home" at Cloonkeen House, located in east county Galway, a few miles from the famous "four country roads" town of Glenamaddy. Wander the peaceful and serene grounds that include the original Cloonkeen cottage, still standing after 300 years! Enjoy breakfast and optional meals prepared by your host, and trained chef, Mae, with nearby access to fishing, golf and walking/ hiking trails. One hour from Galway City!
You'll feel right at "home" here, with access to the full downstairs living space and outdoor grounds in addition to your guest room. The bathroom is in the main living area, and is shared with guests of Garden View Room.
If exploring the unsurpassed natural beauty of Co. Galway and it’s attractions is your aim, you’ll find a range of different authentic Irish experiences. A visit to the west of Ireland would not be complete without a visit to Glenamaddy made world famous by the late Big Tom McBride, with his country song “four country roads”. Glenamaddy (Irish: Gleann na Madadh) is a small town in County Galway, Ireland. Glenamaddy became the musical capital of Connacht during the 1960s when the showband craze swept the country. It is unclear what the exact meaning and Irish translation for Glenamaddy is. It could be derived from the Irish Gleann na Madadh, Gleann meaning glen (valley) and madhadh from madra meaning dog. This would suggest that the name means Valley of the Dogs. This name could have originated from the shape of the Glenamaddy Turlough as looked at from above. The lake is home to the white goose, swans, curlew and many more water fowl. The origins of the parish lie in the village of Boyounagh, which lies to the northwest of Glenamaddy, just next to Mae’s BnB. Boyounagh cemetery is a most historical place, it dates back to 5th Century. Experience a home from home relaxing atmosphere at Mae’s BnB, you will feel rejuvenated, away from the hustle and bustle of a busy lifestyle. Mae is a super host with a great knowledge of her area, history, culture & folklore. See the sun rise over the rugged landscape from Mae’s front door. Take a walk down the bog road as the mist rises over the purple heather to the sweet singing of the wild birds. Relax in Mae’s garden, see the moon over the forest and experience the night sky not seen in city life. Enjoy home cooking while Mae entertains you, she is a retired chef, and has cooked for many famous people including Cliff Richard, and our former Irish president Mary Robinson. Mae has published short stories and poetry, she does a little art, has over 1000 people on her genealogy chart and loves meeting new people. Mae is highly entertaining with her stories. Places to visit in Glenamaddy include; St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, built in gothic style in 1904, with its famous Harry Clarke stained windows. The equestrian centre, coffee shop, pubs & supermarkets are all worth a visit. Enjoy a pint of Guinness, Irish coffee and listen to traditional music. To the east of the town lies Loch Lurgeen, a raised bog, the only one in Ireland (National Heritage and International Importance) rich in plant life and home to many migrating birds. We have three primary schools and a state of art secondary school. Fishing is only 10Km away in a limestone lake, brown trout, perch pike are critically endangered. There are plenty of other activities including golf, walking and cycling. Fishing from Glenamaddy, on the suck valley way, via Ballygar, Creggs, Glinsk & Dunamon Castle (10-20Km). Galway (50Km), Dublin 200Km, Knock Shrine 3KM, Commemara (80Km), Ashford Castle (60KM), The Burren (60Km), Wild Atlantic way (60Km).

  • My friend and I stayed here only for one night, but o was it fantastic. Phenomenal couches where we sat and read by the fire for hours. Exceptional kitchen and bathroom amenities. Nicki really has thought of everything you could possibly need. We were sad to only stay one night here and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Getting to Shannon airport the next morning from here was very easy and this was a much better option than staying locally near the airport. We would highly recommend staying at Nicki's spot.

  • Absolutely stunning stay, every single thing was thought of and the interior is so new and clean. We were absolutely delighted!

    Orlaith2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great relaxing stay at Nicki's place. Greeting with a warm welcome and some great info about the barn the before and after pictures. Lovely little touches of bread, milk, brown bread, butter. We brought down all our food and cooked and drank wine most nights in front of a warm turf fire with movies on a nice big tv, what more could you want. The bathtub you could sink into and a nice heated floor when you got out. You could hear a pin drop it was so quite and peaceful outside at night. There's loads of information available about the area for sightseeing. Would go back to this place in a heartbeat.

    Shaun2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing for a winter retreat. We went from the fire to the bath to the couch. There are also lovely forest walks nearby and great value local pubs and restaurants. Nickie is the most hospitable hostess possibly on air bnb. A more beautifully restored and tastefully decorated place you will not find.

  • We found bridgets home at the last minute because of changes to original plans. Before we arrived my kids were worried about staying in someone's house but their fears were very quickly dissipated. Bridget and Brian are totally lovely and their children are chilled and lovely, all made us feel totally at ease. There recommend a great place to eat out at, fab value and good food. The room was huge, beautiful ensuite. Breakfast was a bonus and brian had us in stitches! Thanks folks!!!

  • We had a really great time staying at the cottage. Everything was as expected, clean and cozy. We managed to catch Bridie and Luke on our way in and they really were wonderful to talk to. Bridie gave us a little tour everything was labelled for us already. The house itself was warm, especially with the fireplace on, and we had all the cutlery we needed to cook dinner etc. We had hired a couple cars so getting to the cottage was straight forward and I cant comment on the public transport in the area. There is a SuperValu near by which met all of our shopping needs as well. Driving to the local sights did take a while but the close proximity to the airport (30 mins) was really convenient for arrival and departure. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely recommend for the future. Many thanks Roy and Lea.

  • Fiona's mom, Kitty greeted me and showed me around. The room is huge! Three people could comfortably stay and not feel too cramped. There was a small problem with the shower, but Fiona was up to fix it right away and she called a plumber in to make sure the issue would be resolved as soon as possible. In the morning Kitty was up to make sure I found all the breakfast items okay. I would recommend Fionas place to anyone looking to stay in the area.

At The Bridge House we have 4 rooms available for rent in the beautiful, picturesque village of Athleague, Co. Roscommon. Our central location makes it a perfect place to stay while you explore the many fantastic sight-seeing opportunities within driving distance. On any given day you could explore the West of Ireland to places like Connemara or Galway City, head Northwest to stunning Sligo, Lough Key Forest Park or Bundoran or even venture south to the amazing Cliffs of Moher.
We are a family run public house with 4 rooms available to rent on a room only basis. The rooms are clean and have a TV, en-suite bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. Three of the rooms have a double bed and a single bed while another room has a double bed and 2 singles. Our central location means it is ideal place to stay and explore some beautiful areas of our beautiful country such as the West of Ireland, Co. Clare, the Northwest and much more. And when you arrive back in the evening you can unwind in our friendly bar and mix with all the locals!
We are situated in Athleague which is a beautiful, picturesque village in Co. Roscommon. Our central location makes it a great base to head on day trips but if you don't feel like going too far, there is also plenty of ways to spend a relaxing day in the village. The river Suck is only a few hundred yards over the bridge beside us and there you'll find the Suck Valley Visitor Center. It is an old 19th century building which has been revamped and offers information on local attractions such as the 105km Suck Valley Way Trail, the 217 km Green Heartlands Cycle Route, or info about the wonderful Coarse, Trout and Pike angling in the area. The village is also home to a quaint cafe/restaurant called Les Petites Tartres where you can enjoy wholesome homemade food and a wonderful selection of deserts. And later on in the evening, if its something stronger you fancy, join us in The Bridge House where you can mingle with the locals and taste the finest pint of Guinness these shores have to offer!
  • A nice no thrills accommodation with a friendly, helpful host...if you are looking for somewhere that is upmarket/top end then this is not for you as you will be looking for fault rather than the value for money this location gives you. If you are a genuine visitor looking for a solid, comfortable, secure base to lay your head each night after a day doing your thing, at an affordable, cost effective outlay then this will be right up your street. I think Mike could do a lot more to promote the benefits of staying with him...the location offers so much for travellers with different goals...Fishing, site seeing, local history, traveling base, Nature trails, Photography, painting, homely 'Irish' pub and value for money, especially if two or more sharing a room. All of this and much more as soon as you walk out the front door...and when finished for the day you can relax with a drink in the bar, alcoholic or just tea and coffee, what more can you ask for :) With several rooms available it could easily accommodate small groups of 'like minded' people visiting the area for the purposes I mention above...fishing etc. Only downside would be that they don't serve food so you have to eat out but not really a problem when you know in advance and can plan accordingly...another local pub serves food and there is a lovely 'Tea Room' two minutes along the street that has amazing food and service.

  • Absolutely beautiful quaint house in a very remote location. Ideal for long walks in the beautiful woods that surround the house. Lots of local amenities within a 10 mins drive. Ballygar village had a great selection of pubs that do food and Roscommon was 20 min drive where there are lots of shops and cinema etc. Will definitely be back there again

    Theresa2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We booked the house for a tranquil escape in this beautiful part of Ireland and that is exactly what we got. Joanna is an amazing host and answers all queries very quickly and efficiently. It was close to all amenities in both Roscommon and Galway, while being set in a beautiful woodland area with lots of lovely walks to unwind.

    Stephen2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed your stay in Joanna’s house very much. It’s in a lovely location literally in the middle of the forest between Ballygar and Creggs but still only 15 minutes from Roscommon town. It is in an isolated place at the edge of the forest so you would need a car or motorcycle to get to it. It felt like a well loved house with lots of nice forest animal features on the wallpaper and the ornaments. There was plenty of space in the house and we loved the “chill out” area on the landing and the library downstairs. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us and the house could easily seller 8-9. There was plenty of parking on site for 3 or even 4 cars. We had several great walks in the forest, the idea escape from Dublin for a break! Definitely recommended and good value for money. The host was not living nearby but was very helpful and got back to us quickly with any queries. The house was clean and comfortable. We’d love to go back some day!

    John2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This large 5 double bedroom property is a great home from home hidden in the countryside in the County Galway (but very close to border of County Roscommon) area of Ireland and is perfect for a base for the region or to truly lock yourself away from the world. The house is very well equipped to keep you entertained with a number of DVDs, books, games and music to keep occupied as well as a large kitchen to cater for all in your party. If the weather is great (which we all know Ireland isn’t know for) there is some great outdoor space for entertaining on. You can take your pick of area to relax in with a choice of 4 areas ( and that doesn’t include the kitchen or outside). The property is well heated with remote thermostats for upstairs and down and and open fire place. There is great parking with the property, a car I would say is essential to get to the house and venture to the nearest stores. The rural location adds to the character of this property and I wouldn’t restate to recommend it to all.

  • Connor’s Retreat is a wonderful space to unplug, relax and get to know the real Ireland. Not the tourist stops, but what it is to live simply and warmly. Highly recommend the cottage - a lovingly rebuilt classic style country cottage. Marion and Andy are wonderful hosts and made sure my stay was comfortable and supplied basic breakfast and cooking goodies to help get settled. The compost toilet is cool. Yes, cool. If you’ve never used one - don’t worry they’re cleverly designed, odorless and so eco friendly! The location is amazing for star gazing if you get a nice clear night. Also Roscommon is a lovely area to explore. There are castles, bogs, parks and museums within a close drive. All around highly recommended!

    Ana2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed three nights at Connors Retreat in July. Marion was unable to meet me but Andy was there to welcome me and tell me how to operate the range which turned out to be quite easy. The cottage is very comfortable and in a lovely rural location at the end of a boreen. Roscommon with its 13th century Norman castle and Rathcroghan which is associated with Maeve and the Táin Bó Cúailnge are nearby. Connors Retreat is a great place to relax and unwind.

    Anne2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect step back in time. If you can take the time to spend off the grid, this is the spot to do it. Just lovely.

    Diza2019-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Marion and Andy's cottage is a beautiful countryside retreat in a very quiet location, yet only 15 minutes drive from Roscommon town. I'd a really enjoyable and peaceful weekend without any TV or internet - it was so nice to completely switch off for a few days. Andy met me when I checked in and showed me the workings of the range and the compost toilet, both of which were easy to operate and get used to. I'd thoroughly recommend this unique cottage to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful break away in an under-appreciated part of Ireland.

    Ronan2018-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • at marion, you will find kindness, availability, responsiveness the cottage is simple, original, but warm, great location if you like the countryside we discovered differences with France, but it is part of the discovery of the country, we left delighted with this stay

  • We had a beautiful few days out in the wilds! The cottage is a bit wild! Using the range is a wonderful experience and the surroundings are idyllic. The hosts were extremely attentive and we had an excellent stay

    Louise2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • My wife Tara, daughter Niamh & I had a wonderful time at Connors Retreat. It's a lovingly restored stone cottage with period details & pride of place goes to the solid fuel range - powered by local turf. We cooked some lovely meals on it & helped us slow down & relax. The cottage is deep in the countryside with great views & surrounded by dairy cows which are daughter loved. Lots to do in the area all an easy drive away: Strokestown House; Lough Ree; Rindoon; Lough Key Forest Park etc. Marion was away but Andy could not have been a better host and we even got some tomatoes from the greehouse! Highly, highly recommended.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Fuerty/Castlecoote our newly renovated 1950s home & BBQ hut is the perfect rural retreat, plus the bonus of fishing in the River Suck & lakes, with a warm stove fire at the end of day. Enjoy the great outdoors & cosy up to a BBQ no matter what the weather. Our BBQ hut is the perfect way to entertain friends/family or just to escape a wintry evening. Please note BBQ hut is complimentary and I ask all guests to clean hut after use for next guests.
This 1950s home is revamped with a mix of modern/mid 20th Century and a nod to the past. The interior is spacious, homely and brightly lit with great views of unspoiled farmland. The house is renovated with a modern kitchen, newly fitted out with all you need to cook up a storm. Its a fun space to cook in, just remember to crank up the radiogram. For a relaxing night in wind down by a warm fire in the living room, which features an original old Irish crane and hanging cast iron teapot. We have supplied some board games to bring out your competitive side. The house has a choice of three unique bedrooms (two Double and one King size bed) and two spacious bathrooms. Fuerty/Castlecoote is steeped in history and Irish folklore. Just 3.5 miles you can visit the prehistoric La Tène stone dating back to The Iron Age. Along the way, you will pass the resting place of Diarmuid and Gráinne (a famous Irish legend) and Fuerty cemetery with graves dating back to the 1700s. During your stay why not get involved in the Suck Valley Walk, take in a round of golf, catch your dinner in the River Suck (and throw it back in) or try your luck at the Roscommon Races.
It is hard to resist a walk in the country side which allows you to take in local historic sites with little effort. Here is a few just down the road; La Tène Stone Just 2.5 miles from The Green Cow you can visit the per historic La Tène Stone, Castlestrange (close to a fishing spot too). The stone stands on the grounds of the Castlestrange estate, long since turned to ruin. This granite boulder, with carved detail in relief, is said to date back to the Iron Age and is amongst the finest examples of Celtic stones in Europe - see photo care of MzM Creative Services. Fuerty Cemetery Be sure to drop into Fuerty cemetery on your way to the La Tène Stone, Castlestrange. You will find ruins of a Franciscan church, in which 100 priests were massacred in Cromwellian times by Colonel Ormsby, the local tyrant. Some of the gravestones date back to 1720 and there are graves and tombs you may find interesting. Two headstones are of special interest – one, erected over the grave of a blacksmith, is carved to show anvil, bellows and smith’s tongs. The other, over the grave of a shepherd, shows a sheep and shepherd’s crook. Diarmuid and Grainne’s Resting Place One of the great romantic legends of Ireland is that of Diarmuid and Grainne. The story tells of the great hunt of the famous warrior Fionn Mac Cumhaill, seeking revenge for Grainne who deserts him at their wedding feast. She slips a sleeping potion into his drink and to the rest of the guests and encourages Diarmuid to run away with her. There were perused through Forests, over mountains, through bogs, never resting and eating in the same place. Some say one of Diarmuid and Grainne’s resting place was in Fuerty just a short walk from the house. It really is just a small mound with a tree sheltering it. If however, you are passing by you may as well say you have seen one of the ‘Beds of Diarmuid and Grainne’. Roscommon has some of the finest angling lakes in the country and the River Suck, which is a short distance of The Green Cow, is renowned for its trout and coarse fishing. Don't forget to look up Lough Key Forest Park. It has activities for all ages such as Zipit Forest adventures, Electric bike trails, Woodland Segway to mention a few. You can always take a day trip to Galway, Mayo or Sligo.
  • Very clean and a quirky property. Note, this property is very quirky, it can either impress or frustrate depending on your own persona. I loved the vintage pieces. Others may not. One thing this property is not is bland and so if your idea of design is 50 shades of beige then you wont get along with this property. Well done Carole.

  • Ideal for touring or walking, very quiet, secluded and safe.

  • This is best air B and B I’ve ever stayed in! It was worth every penny. Great rustic location. Thoughtful touches inside the house. Wonderful place.

  • A wonderful house with details everywhere letting us know how good of a host Carole is. Clean, lovely decorated and well equipped house that met all our needs. Located in the centre (and heart?) of Ireland we enjoyed experiencing this part of Ireland and attractions close by. Finally we loved having a horse as a neighbour, and the horse loved our carrots we brought. We can highly recommend the house and Carole as a host.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Green Cow. The house had everything we needed and was in a good location. Carole's communication, tips and quick responses was much appreciated. I would highly recommend this accommodation. Thanks again for a lovely stay!!

  • Lovely cottage in the country side close to many local historic sites (loved the sheela-na-gigs). Quiet and comfortable. No TV or WiFi so we played alot of Scrabble. Fun times.
