The studio has everything you could possibly need to have a wonderful and comfortable stay. Located in western Barossa, just off the Sturt Hwy, minutes away from Barossa attractions and 50 minutes from Adelaide. Be Consumed-In the Barossa.
The Shea-Oak Log Studio AKA The Shed, is a lovely space. A large double glass sliding door lets the morning sun stream in onto the timber floor. There is 2 leather lounges which seats 5 people with ease. The extra large bedroom has a queen bed and room for a portacot, if needed. The Studio is set up to fit 2 people with comfort. The Studio is full insulated and very comfortable in any weather, with 2 air conditioners, portable heater and a fan. The Studio is located at the southern end of our property, which is only around 200 metres off of the Sturt Highway. You will hear some road noise from time to time.
The Studio is located in a very unique area. There are no close by neighbouring houses, you are moments off of the Sturt Highway which leads you to the heart of the Barossa in 10 minutes and to Adelaide in 50 minutes. The studio is situated at the southern end of our property which is close to the Sturt Highway, this is great for access but you can hear the road noise from the studio. You are surrounded by the Barossa Ranges, vineyards and broadacre crops. No one will bother you here! Only our little miniature schnauzers Hugo and Alfie, who likes to come and say hello from time to time!

Seppeltsfield was established in the Barossa Valley by Joseph and Johanna Seppelt just 15 years after the European settlement of South Australia. Steeped in rich Barossan heritage, the estate is considered a true national treasure which helped shape the history of the Australian wine industry. Seppeltsfield is most famed for the Centennial Collection - an irreplaceable and unbroken lineage of Tawny of every vintage from 1878 to current year. The estate remains the only winery in the world to release a 100-year-oldngle vintage wine each year. The estate also boasts a remarkable collection of Apera (Australian Sherry), crossing Fino to Oloroso styles, all held in vast Solero nursery cellars. Seppeltsfield is a marriage of Barossan history, community and fine winemaking endeavour. A new golden era now sees art and design (through JamFactory studios), gastronomic excellence (through FINO restaurant) and beauty (through Vasse Virgin) contribute to an exciting renaissance of Australia’s iconic wine estate.

A warm welcome from the picturesque and historic Barossa! an international attraction for the wineries, restaurants, scenic surroundings and Germanic culture with plenty to do and see. The house is located near major arterial roads for easy access, but is in a quiet cul-de-sac with quiet neighbours – no city noise! Looking forward to making your stay comfortable. I have three separate rooms available. The Chardonnay Room, The Cabernet Room and The Pinot Room. Each can accommodate two guests.
You have a clean and tidy bedroom that has a comfortable modern double bed, hanging space, drawers, small table and a recliner. You have your own air-conditioning for heating or cooling, as well as a ceiling fan. A key for your bedroom door assures you your belongings are secure. There are well thought out little touches that make your stay that bit more comfortable and easy. You are getting more than a private room. My home is organised to be very guest friendly. You can access the lounge, dining, kitchen and laundry area. The kitchen is a full kitchen with all you need, not just a 'kitchenette'. The bathroom is for guest use only and has a large vanity space, separate shower recess and separate toilet. The bathroom may need to be shared with other guests if the other rooms are booked. The kitchen is available for food storage (fridge and cupboard) and also cooking. Please let me show you how to use the appliances and stove. I supply tea / coffee / hot chocolate / water, and a light breakfast of fruit and cereal. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer for a fee, again please let me show you how to use these appliances.
The immediate neighbourhood consists of settled home owners. Most houses have high fencing in their backyards for privacy. It is a very quiet area and has respectful neighbours. A quaint country town, with no city noise means that your stay will be relaxing and restful. Nuriootpa is surrounded by vineyards and farms. At any time of the year there is a lot of green vegetation. Being part of the Barossa Valley means there are a number of small towns all with their own charm and interests. Nuriootpa is known as the business end of the Barossa and has a new shopping mall. We have Foodland and Foodworks available for all your grocery needs as well as Mitre 10, clothing, sports and homeware shops, also Aldi and Cheap as Chips. A number of cafes are located throughout the Barossa towns. We have two 24 hour food options with Hungry Jacks or the Big Grill located at Caltex on the highway. Every town has a local pub which will serve great meals. The Vine Inn is a popular spot being open from 7 a.m. for breakfast to 10 p.m. with a bistro or sports bar. There are also high end dining experiences that will tantalise you with their local produce and amazing cooking skills. Churches are also a common sight. Finally, not forgetting the many wineries whether it is a boutique family winery or major winery.

  • Andrew's place is centrally located in Grawler. His local tips were all spot on (we loved Kies family wines). There is a lot of amenities and we took away from Fasta Pasta (which was great btw) and ate dinner in the comfort of his home whilst drinking wines we purchased from Eden Valley earlier in the day. Check in was fine, and the description is very accurate.

The room was spacious with a super-comfy king size bed as well as an extra bedroom with bunks we didn’t need. We slept unbelievably well! Darren & Delma were considerately quiet to ensure we were not disturbed. It was nice to be able to use a kitchenette to prepare basic snacks & breakfast. At first glance, yes it's a shed. But explore further and you will find an unique Aussie experience, a fully functional self contained room. Shower, toilet and kitchenette. All private and seperate from our house. It's normally used for overnighters by family and friends. Please be open minded in your expectations, it's not the Ritz, Hilton, Taj Mahal but what it is clean, tidy, private affordable accomadation. Single or couple.
For the cost and facilities available here you won't find much better value. Its not the Taj Mahal but its clean tidy and compact. Queen bed. Designed for a couple or single person. Room is insulated with reverse split air conditioning. (ignore the old in wall aircon in photo)
Our residence is in a quiet street. We have lived at the same address for over 20yrs. We have a very safe neighbourhood and we have a good relationship with our neighbour's.
  • An easy and comfortable place to stay, just as advertised. Would be happy to return.

Located on the main street of Gawler - SA oldest town with beautiful heritage features Short hour drive to Adelaide CBD & Airport A short walk to train station with regular trains to city (day & night, 7 days a week) - Happy to help with train info, please ask. Close to Barossa (巴罗萨谷葡萄酒庄) - 15 to 20 min drive to beautiful wineries & country towns Supermarket just across the street Short walk to creek, parkland, recreation centre, cafes, restaurants, shops, library, gym, visitor centre, etc.
This Airbnb is a self-contained unit with its own entrance, it has: a carpeted queenbed bedroom (fan) a carpeted living room (aircon) a carpeted reading room a fully equipped kitchen a shower room (gravity fed hotwater) a toilet a backyard Please note: 1. Apart from the Queen bed for 2 people, a Single size foldable bed can be added if the booking is for 3 people (please remember to send a request when you book, as we need time to get the foldable bed ready). 2. Private carpark is in the rear, size approximately 2.5 m x 5 m (access via back street) - there are just a few big concrete stairs & a footpath between the private car park and the unit. 3. If you prefer street parking, the above-mentioned back street is an option. Also, there are public parking spots out the front (very close to the unit's front entrance, on Gawler main street). Some guests also parked their cars across the main street in the free shopping centre carpark during the day.
Gawler has many 19th Century buildings - a couple of old churches (for example, the Catholic, Anglican and Presbyterian churches) are worth having a look at. Visitor Information Centre will provide lovely colour brochures for the Gawler Self-driving Tour and Gawler Church Hill walking tour. Apart from history side of things, Gawler offers a relaxing and slow pace ambiance - go for a morning walk in the beautiful parkland or a jog along the beautiful creek. Rub shoulders with locals for a local taste experience at the very popular breakfast/brunch place Java Hut on the main street, grab an Italian styled coffee and a sweet treat at CIBO which is also located on the main street, at night try out local pub meals at Prince Albert Hotel which has a nice interior after their recent renovation. For second hand shop lovers, there are a few shops within walking distance - such as Vinnies, AWL, Salvos, Lifeline & Gawler Community House, etc. As for the market on a weekend, I personally like Farmers Market in Pioneer Park (just a stone's throw) where you get fresh produce at competitive prices, nice coffee and soak up nice vibes from the gathering of Gawler locals. There are also different Farmers Markets on the weekend in nearby towns - one of them we love to visit (just a short drive) is Barrossa Farmers Market which offers a wide range of Barrossa made goods, from jam to delicious meals. It is very popular and is a draw card to both locals and residents from other parts of Adelaide. Weekend drive destinations for us for things like a fun walk and a nice brunch are some nearby beautiful countrytowns - Angaston, Tanunda & Nuriootpa - about 20-25 mins drive from Airbnb. Clare Valley and Semaphore Beach are also our favourite hang out places on a weekend or on a public holiday, about 1 hour drive.

  • We had a beautiful stay in Tanunda. Tracy’s home is a short walk to the main part of town. The home was beautiful and such a nice space to be in. The fresh bread, milk and eggs was such a thoughtful touch and we really appreciated it. We would love to come back soon.

    Tess2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean, modern apartment, great value for money and in a convenient location. Tracy was easy to communicate with and we really enjoyed the little touches of bread and eggs on arrival. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone exploring the Barossa.

  • Beautiful sparkling clean, modern apartment right behind the Main Street in Tanunda and close to all amenities. There is a great information centre nearby so we booked a winery tour from our front door. Brilliant place.

    Patricia2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely and clean and rather spacious. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the high quality linen made it a hotel style experience. The extra inclusions of high quality local produce and stylish kitchen made it easy to stay in at times to cook and eat. The extra considerations toward organic and green products through out the place added to the well thought out hospitality this host provided. Easy walking distance to local places but the off street parking is reassuring towards the want to hire a car to really experience the wonderful places to visit in nearby areas. Perfect place to stay for a food and wine lover.

    Liam2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate home, perfect for a weekend away. Beautiful touches like milk, eggs and bread. Will definitely be re booking again as it felt so cozy!

Tamu Barossa is a fully self contained guest house with a blend of classic and modern design set on our lush two-acre property a mere 3 minute drive from the quaint little town of Lyndoch, the gateway to the Barossa Valley. It is separate from our main house so you will have full privacy to enjoy our cosy guesthouse. The name ‘Tamu’ means ‘sweet’ in Swahili and ‘guest’ in Malay. A happy coincidence that pays homage to Kenya and Malaysia, where my husband and I originated from.
At Tamu you can relax on your private verandah and sip some local wine or enjoy a delectable cup of tea. Take a stroll and wander around our property. We have a variety of young fruit trees, herbs, flowers and there are a lot of established gum trees and cypress pine which attract a number of birds such as the Rainbow Lorikeet, Kookaburra and honeyeaters. You will also be able to meet the kangaroos that hop in and out of our property to graze. Our landscaping is a work in progress so please do bear with us. Our guesthouse can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults and 1 child. Tamu’s amenities include: - Split system heating and cooling units in the Bedroom and Living Room - Two king single beds that can be separated or put together to create one large king bed (please advise us of your preference). - We can provide a single foam mattress with linen and beddings that can be placed on the floor to be used by your child. - Portacot with mattress and linen, baby bathtub, changing mat, towel and highchair can be provided for a baby. - Wardrobe & dressing table - Fully equipped Kitchen (pots, pans, crockery, glassware, cutlery, teaware) - Kitchen appliances (fridge, oven, microwave, gas cooktop, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine) - Basic Kitchen supplies (olive oil, pepper, salt, sugar, foil, clingwrap) - Complimentary milk, muesli and coffee pods - Open plan Living Room, Kitchen and Dining - Flat screen TV - No Wifi available at this time unfortunately, but you can hotspot your mobile phone - Two seat dining table - Highchair can be provided upon request - Bathroom with toilet and shower - Undercover verandah with a two seat table - On site parking We will greet you in passing and always welcome a chat if you feel so inclined. However, our service philosophy is minimal intrusion. Let yourself in, make yourself at home and if you need anything more or have any difficulty please let us know. Check out what is happening and more photos by following our Instagram page @tamubarossa.
We are just a 13 minute drive to Tanunda the cosmopolitan heart of the Barossa with the best restaurants, entertainment and cellar doors. Award winning winery Kellermeister is just a two minute drive from us. The winery is rated in the top 7% of Australian producers by Australia's acclaimed wine critic, James Halliday. For those who are a bit more adventurous, the Altona CSR Landcare Reserve which is highly rated on Tripadvisor Australia is located just opposite our property. It has a 6km walking track and is a great place to observe the wildlife and vegetation. Or you could wander down on to the Barossa Trail which is a shared cycling and walking path that goes from the outskirts of Gawler through Lyndoch, Rowland Flat, Tanunda, Nuriootpa to Angaston.

  • location - perfect. We cooked the breakfast supplied on the BBQ and it was... perfect. Erika's place is in the middle of blissful serenity. Close enough to the big towns for wine tasking. Close enough to the local pub to be away from it all. All the thoughtful details are catered for. Clean, comfy... perfect. Close to coffee, food and wine. My recommendation is a trip to the markets or a local supermarket, local cheese, local wine and enjoy an early night in

Built on this site in 1845, the Victoria Mill, then owned by Walter Duffield, burned to the ground in 1867. Thankfully, the Counting House, Counting House Office and Weigh Bridge Office were saved. The Counting House will soon accommodate one or two couples, in an incredibly unique piece of Gawler's history. A kitchen, including breakfast, dining room, reading room, lounge and two bedrooms are under the main roof, with the bathroom in a lean-to under the verandah. Bathrobes supplied! Furnished.
This is a seriously old building, with some lovely, interesting quirks. Guests can enjoy it's unique place in Gawler's history whilst enjoying good quality linen, comfortable beds, reverse cycle heating and cooling, a lovely kitchen, electric lighting and hot water from pipes! Future upgrades and additions are planned, but for now, share an unique experience, at a fair price. Pictures do not show furnishing, but it is.
Gawler is steeped in history and the Counting House is located a short distance to the main street and shops, surrounded by other historical buildings. There are many self-guided walks available and bike paths along the rivers. This property is two streets away from my other available Gawler listings which are part of the Old Gawler Courthouse.
  • I fell in love with the cottage. It was the cosiest space and everything just where it was supposed to be. We loved the Christmas decorations and food, coffee and tea that was left there for us. It was like being at home. Beds were super comfy too. Many thanks for a great experience and so convenient to the main street. I will definitely be back and also recommend it to my friends.

Although across the road from a train service you would never have known. Conveniently located in the heart of Gawler with eateries, pubs and local services less than 5 mins in any location I would book here again.

  • Steve and Janine hospitality was outstanding. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to stay in the heart of Barossa and easily reach everything around in less than 20 minutes. The accommodation was clean and neat and even more spacious than the pictures were showing. We took advantage of the kitchen that was well equipped. Highly recommended.

Situated in Rowland Flat on a three-acre property, the stone cottage was the original tack and feed rooms for Mr Rowland's stables. Separated by a courtyard the stables are now the home of the host. The cottage is comprised of a truly delightful bedroom with an antique double bed with stunning garden views; comfortable lounge room with TV/DVD, CD/radio, books and games; light and open equipped kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave, large electric frying pan and breakfast bar overlooking gardens through french windows (provisions for continental breakfast); the bathroom has both separate shower and claw foot slipper bath, toilet and vanity. R/c air-conditioning/heating and ceiling fans throughout. Access from the cottage to your own verandah with garden spilling over…serenity…the perfect spot for breakfast, coffee or bottle of local wine. Enjoy walks through our vineyard and paddocks and come across surprises such as our free-range chooks, wood fire pizza oven, an array of interesting seating and more. Incredible views across the valley floor to the imposing ranges or, bordering our property, the beguiling North Para River (in winter a roaring, cascading joy to behold or in summer the rock based riverbed allows access to caves, a geologists delight) and the birdlife is bountiful. Use of the swimming pool is available in the warmer months.
There’s plenty to do, only minutes away: Tanunda Pines Golf course, the bike/walking path (from Angaston to Gawler) runs past the top of our property, hot air ballooning, helicopter scenic flights, wineries, restaurants, art galleries, cafes and day spa (at the Novotel). What more could you want?
  • Kay and Madeline are the perfect hosts for a trip to the Barossa. Full of local knowledge and stories to make sure you have a great trip. The small touches make ‘The Stables’ an amazing place to stay with a very central location for you to explore the Barossa. We were treated with fresh eggs from the chooks, homemade jams and bath salts, local milk and plunger coffee! Dixie and Tibs (the dogs) were extremely friendly and loved meeting us at the gate for a pat. We can’t wait to visit another day and experience more of the Barossa.

    Charlotte2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved The Stables and we’ll definitely be back. An easy drive to Tanunda, a short walk to Jacobs Creek winery and very convenient access to the bike path that runs through the Barossa. The accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed and situated in lovely gardens. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Thank you to Dixie and Tibs and their humans for such a lovely stay.

    Fiona2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kay and Madeline are such lovely thoughtful hosts. The extra little touches of fresh eggs from the chooks and homemade jam just made it extra special. The property is beautiful and the house so very clean. We had a wonderful stay and will be definitely returning.

    Gavin2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here! Would recommend to all my friends and hoping to make it back there again. Great location, just out of the main town is the perfect distance away to have a relaxing get away. We made use of the gardens and pool during summer. The country style breakfast of fresh eggs and bread was a great touch.

    Lauren2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy stay at a lovely place central to all Barossa attractions. Loved the hospitality and the extra amenities (Kay’s farm eggs were the best we’ve ever had!). Would recommend to any prospective visitors!

    Hazel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely well appointed This house size airbnb is extremely well appointed with all you would need for a night or a month. Comfy bed and lounge, large shower with rain shower showerhead and good pressure, very spacious, well equipped kitchen and pantry items, seating on front verandah captures lovely breezes and another patio area if you want some sun. As it is only 20 minutes or so to the Barossa, it would be an excellent alternative to the high prices of airbnbs there. Surprisingly good bottle of red wine from surrounding vineyard. Lovely bouganvillia act as a colourful screen from the main house which is a good distance away. Quiet and private with undercover parking. Thanks Sharon, a real treat.

    Lesley2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a comfortable and spacious cottage conveniently located between the St Kilda aquatic reserve and the Barossa valley. Both destinations can be easily explored on a bike starting from Sharon 's place. The hosts are welcoming and the communication was efficient. I can definitely recommend this place.

Built in 1881 in historical Church Hill, with modern amenities, the Courthouse is centrally located in Gawler, yet quiet, offering a unique, self-contained accommodation option, close to the Barossa Valley, Gawler main street and shops. The Studio is at the front of this majestic building and is completely private. Originally the Witness Waiting Room , Entrance Foyer, Hallway, and WCs, the Studio is cosy and well equipped with initial breakfast supplies, fast internet and Netflix.
Gawler is a historical town at the gateway to the Barossa Valley, and the precinct of Church Hill where the Courthouse sits is heritage listed. Cowan street is a quiet, wide, Jacaranda-tree-lined avenue close to shops, restaurants, sporting facilities and sites of interest on the Heritage trail. Located 40 km from Adelaide CBD, the Courthouse is 250 metres from the train station. Built in 1881, it has been meticulously converted to a residence. The Studio apartment which was once the entrance, witness waiting room and bathrooms now offers a bedroom, bathroom, laundry/kitchen and hallway in the front of this listing, with the Judge's Chamber offering a large bedroom/living room and luxury ensuite to the rear of the building. The main courtroom is for occasional private use. Gawler has many parklands and wonderful walking trails along its three rivers. It is less than an hours drive to the Clare Valley, 40 minutes to the beach or city and 20 minutes to the Barossa Valley.
Church Hill is a quiet area yet is centrally located. There are four churches and many other historical buildings in Cowan Street, as well as a horse hitching post! The Police Station is located on one side of the Courthouse and the Anglican Rectory on the other. Gawler Aquatic Centre, tennis courts, Yoga centre and Gawler Central train station are a short walk. In late spring the street turns purple with Jacaranda flowers. As the gateway to the north, Gawler has many local historical hotels.

  • Cool apartment in an exceptional house. Super centrally located. Bed very comfortable, bathroom great. Only the kitchen needed a renovation, although everything was there. Also a small breakfast - thanks! But there was a washer and dryer, which was important for us travelers for one night.

  • A stylish, relaxing space in a great location with a lot of interesting history. Much more than a studio too; separate kitchen, bedroom and dining, and an 'on trend' bathroom. Loved all the thoughtful touches and provisions. And, Natalie was the perfect host, going above and beyond! Overall, highly recommend it, it's not just a place to stay, it's also a fabulous experience.

    Paula2020-02-18T00:00:00Z

  • What a wonderful place. It is absolutely tranquil and isolated from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist drags of the Barossa yet extremely conveniently located near the A20 highway to Nuriootpa. The home was immaculate, spacious and very well stocked with everything you could wish for. We appreciated the wine and chocolates and breakfast provisions were ample and delicious. We wanted for nothing and the views were awesome. Highly recommend as a home away from home in a beautiful part of the country.

if you are looking for something unique , then this place is for you. She is a mud brick house designed and built by her first owner Mr Kobelt. The history-marking beams and timbers were authentically from the Port Adelaide Woolshed. Strategically located in the middle of Adelaide city and Barossa Valley , it is the gateway to the both ends. The Gawler line train station and mutiple bus stops are just a 5 minute walk away. Next to the public transport, there is the Munno Para Shopping Center !
There is a combustion wood heater , you are welcome to use it , the firewoods are under the verandah. Be mindful for safety issues while operating it.
From my place, you can explore Barossa Valley , Gawler, Adelaide Hill and Adelaide City.

A characterful ironstone cottage located in the heart of the Barossa. Equipped with all the modern amenities for the most discerning guest. The interior is a mix of contemporary and old to give the cottage a light, bright and airy feel while remaining true to it’s longstanding heritage. Situated on a large block, the garden wraps around the cottage to provide many places in which to relax and unwind.
This beautiful ironstone cottage built in the mid 1860’s is located in Lyndoch; a quaint and historic town situated in the heart of the Barossa Valley. The cottage has been newly renovated with a fresh, modern interior, but is also sympathetic to it’s historical roots with the incorporation of lovely antique pieces sourced from the Barossa and Adelaide Hills. It features all the modern amenities, including a fully equiped kitchen, laundry area with washing machine, split system air conditioning, large spa bath, Wi-Fi connectivity and Netflix enabled Smart TV. The main street of Lyndoch is also within walking distance where you will find Lagana’s General Store, the local butcher, Lyndoch Bakery and other pubs, restaurants and cafes in which to indulge in our famous local produce. Although close to the main street, the property is nestled in a peaceful corner of the lyndoch township. The large cottage style garden is the perfect place to unwind with a good book and take in the Barossa’s beautiful surroundings. Inclusions: - A bottle of wine on arrival - LCD Smart TV - Wi-Fi - Two person spa bath - Air-conditioning - Washing machine - Nespresso coffee pod machine - Full kitchen equiped with stove/oven, microwave and cooking utensils - A range of mini breakfast cereals, jams, condiments and milk provided (please advise of any special dietary requirements) - Luxury toiletry range (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap and travel accessories kit) - Spacious bathroom, plus second toilet - Hair dryer - Iron & Ironing Board - Clothes airer - Large novel/book selection - Board games - Set of golf clubs (on request)
Our neighbourhood is quiet and full of friendly people who always seem to be willing to stop for a chat. The lyndoch hotel is a short 15 minute walk down the road. If you prefer a glass of wine over a beer however, the lovely Reis Creek cellar door is situated just opposite. Lyndoch is a fantastic location as it is central in relation to many wineries and cellar doors. Barossa Chateau, Kies Family Wines, Kellermeister and Chateau Yaldara are all within 5 minutes driving distance of the accomodation. And we aren't short of local golf courses either! Sandy Creek Golf Club is a short 5 minute drive, while the Tanunda Pines Golf Club is located only 10 minutes away from the accomodation. We offer guests a set of golf clubs to use on request should you want to take advantage of these courses.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Brooke and Peter’s. This is a beautiful cottage with Brooke’s immaculate attention to detail, perfectly positioned in the Barossa. The place is spotless and Brooke is a great host and very easy to communicate with.

    Emma2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were lucky enough to the first guests at Brooke and Peter’s place. It was as beautiful as the pictures look and was such a lovely place to stay. It was the perfect location to use as a base whilst we explored the Barossa. Brooke was very quick to respond to messages and they were lovely hosts, definitely recommend for a couples getaway!

Set on 5 acres, Pondicherri is a small acreage landholding with a cluster of small buildings and exudes a rustic village atmosphere. The Barn is one of those buildings. Its borrowed rural amenity and views are enabled as it is surrounded by much larger farming land, creating a quiet private oasis yet you are close to everything within the Barossa Valley. Some of the buildings are of historic interest and date back to 1845. The Barn is one of four buildings on the property.
The Barn is a single room building constructed with thick stone walls and exposed internal timber beams. The building is aged well over 100 years. We are not sure of its original use. The Barn originally had the tiny window on the south side and one door many a year ago! For those that do book, look out for the circular patterns on the walls near the bed! Today, the Barn is furnished with a very comfortable super-sized (mega) king bed - or can be separated into two king single beds - complete with natural fibre quality bed linens. A third person can be accommodated on a fold-out bed but you will need to confirm when you book (and is an additional fee for the third person). You have access to a smart TV with Netflix and Chromecast to watch movies while you cozy up in bed and/or access the NBN fixed wireless network for all your modern communication needs. Or, should you need to work (and we hope you don’t), you can set yourself up on the drop leaf table or maybe, just stay in bed! A lounge, cane chair, wardrobe, ironing board/iron and basic kitchenette (with toaster, fridge, microwave, kettle) ensures you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is no running water in the Barn, but we do provide a handmade 2-litre capacity ceramic water purifier system that removes virtually all contaminants including fluoride. The water purifier can be replenished with potable water from the Wash House with two stainless steel jugs that are provided in the Barn. The north-facing deck is totally private and is a wonderful sunny spot to start your day. Later, you can sip your glass of Barossa wine with the occasional spotting of kangaroos in the paddocks. On a clear night, the Milky Way is stunning! Download a stargazing app and find the different constellations. Get your phone torch out and spotlight spider eyes that twinkle like diamonds in the paddocks. Buy some local yummy delicacies and your stay is very relaxing, peaceful and rejuvenating - especially for city folk - or so we are told by our guests! The lockable private shower room and separate toilet are a short walk from The Barn and are located in the Wash House that is semi-attached to the (circa 1845) historic original settlers building of mud/straw and stone. Take a step back in time and ‘walk the walk’ of the original Barossa settlers - but these wash facilities are modern-day! We grow a selection of organic herbs and vegetables. Just ask us what’s growing and we would be delighted to pick fresh produce for you to enjoy during your stay with us. In the warmer months, you will have access to a 12 x 3.5 metre swimming pool. It is a shared space enjoyed by us and all guests but mostly you will find you can enjoy the pool by yourself. It is what is on the inside that counts! We live on the property too and we are gradually upgrading the grounds but you will be very comfortable and importantly - very private. However, if you are older or maybe have the need for suburban indoor comforts and/or a frequent night toilet user- the Barn might not be for you! The Barn is a mix of old and new experiences. It shares the nuances of glamping but it’s neither a hotel room experience, a house nor apartment! You can even leave the ‘dunny’ door open complete with a view! If you think you can enjoy this type of experience, we warmly welcome you to book with us at Pondicherri and The Barn.
We are only 5 minutes drive to the pretty historic village of Angaston that is well serviced with a varied selection of cafes, numerous restaurants ranging from great takeaways/dine in options to fine dining, 2 pubs, a florist, a supermarket, butcher, hardware, medical centre, post office, speciality Barossa food businesses and some retail therapy. We are 5 minutes drive from the famed Barossa Valley Farmers Market that is open every Saturday morning. There are many high-quality wineries, restaurants, food establishments and historic buildings to explore across the region. If food and wine are not your thing, there are numerous walking and cycling trails, some easy bushwalks including spotting kangaroos at Kaisersthul Conservation Park. Or you could go ballooning or a helicopter ride for the birds eye view! Just about everything except surfing! We are only one hour's drive to the nearest South Australian coastline, only one+half hour's drive into city of Adelaide and a one hour drive to the Adelaide Hills area. There is so much to do and explore in this beautiful part of Australia.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at The Barn. The room was beautiful, with lots of thoughtful touches and a very comfy bed. We loved our stay there, especially sitting by the pool in the afternoon with a glass of rose. Highly recommend and we’ll be back!

  • Honestly amazing! Couldn’t recommend staying here more. Carolyn and William have thought of everything. So beautifully styled throughout and the location is just perfect. Carolyn also provided us with wonderful suggestions for dinner and breakfast that we are so glad to have tried. The perfect weekend in the Barossa made so by having such a wonderful place to come back to. Thanks so much again :-)

    Ciara2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn and William were amazing hosts! The Barn was absolutely lovely and beautifully fitted out. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities were great. It was lovely to sit out on the private deck and look up at the stars. Despite the heatwave while we were staying, the Barn was very cool with AC and a fan. It was also great to have a dip in the pool. The bathroom is very close and no issue to get to. There were lots of brochures and guides in the room for guests and Carolyn kindly gave us some personal recommendations, all of which we loved! The location was great for getting around the Barossa. We were really impressed with the whole experience and will definitely be back the next time we come to the Barossa.

    Laurent2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Studio 57 is a self-sufficient aesthetically-pleasing spot. Had everything we needed. Pictures don’t do justice. Great location, so central for us to get around. Even walking distance if you’d like that too. We were celebrating a birthday and were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine and a birthday card upon arrival. Very sweet of Lindsay and Annemaree to go that extra mile. We booked a wine tour with Lindsay as well, he knows the best spots. Pillows are plenty and bed is very comfy, but if you can only sleep on a firm pillow - bring your own. Don’t leave without saying hi to Denzel (the cutest Cavoodle in Tannunda). Forgot our passports behind and Annemaree was kind enough to send them back to us by post. Can’t recommend this place enough!
