Places to stay in Freeland
The "Refugio" is a quintessential cabin retreat to escape the city and base camp to explore the wonders of Whidbey Island. We created this cabin from an existing shelter with the vision of refuge, peace and solstice for those who stay. It's a simple, off the grid space located in the back 40 of Landmark Farm. A peaceful pastoral setting, ideal for meditation, writing, relaxing and rejuvinating.
The Refugio, is an essential "glamping" camping space. You provide your camping comforts including your sleeping bag, sleeping pad and all gear needed to camp. We provide the peaceful space. There is a bucket composting toilet in back of the cabin. Other amenities include: full size futon bed (camp quality), wood stove, built-in wall table with stools, tea kettle, propane camp stove, mugs, tea, fire pit, camp chairs, hammock, solar lights, & wood, kindling, matches, yoga mat. Solar sun shower, rain barrel water collection system. Future plans are for an on demand propane outdoor shower by the well house. Stay tuned.
Cynthia’s home is located in Freeland, Washington, United States The Refugio cabin is located on Landmark Farm, situated in a quiet, rural neighborhood 1 mile from downtown Freeland. 5 acre property, pastoral views, surrounded by evergreen and alder trees. Mutiny Bay beach is 1/2 mile from the property. Our favorite for a sandy beach walk & spectacular sunsets.
  • My second time here was as wonderful as the first. The last time I was here was in the summer. Early spring called for using the wood stove to stay warm — so easy to use and so cozy! The cabin remains clean and well-organized with thoughtful touches like votive candles, coffee and filters, and guides to local parks. Such a peaceful retreat!

  • Excellent place to get away, 'glamp', and enjoy a more natural setting for the weekend! We really enjoyed the calm environment and personal touches. It was a great place to unwind while we explored Whidbey Island for the weekend!

  • Stayed at this sweet spot for just one night but are already planning to return. A great way to check out of the stresses of life, light a fire, read, draw, play games, and rest. It has just the things you might need and the property was charming. We brought our own camp air mattress (full size) and it fit perfectly, and cozy bedding. Thanks for a great stay!

  • The wood stove was more than sufficient at heating the cabin on a cold night and was my favorite part of a relaxing trip. Great location and peaceful surroundings. Explored the many state parks on the island.

  • This space was magical and the perfect getaway.

  • Had a great time! The cabin was homey, just what we were looking for. Great location too, quick drive to the beach. Highly recommend!

  • I almost never leave reviews even when I have a good experience, but I have to leave one in this case. What a sweet spot! It was the perfect little getaway from the city, just what we needed. Thank you for creating this beautiful little haven!

    Sarah2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little hut with all you need. Fire kept us warm all night. Best part was waking up to the birds on a particularly sunny day in the winter. We wish we could’ve spent more time in the rocking chairs in the morning, so keep your morning plans clear!

CDC cleaning recommendations followed. This tiny cabin is located on a high bank/bluff waterfront lot in an old, weekend fishing camp, subdivision. Neighborhood is a bit shabby, but safe & quiet. 192 square feet of bright interior space, with french doors that open onto a large view deck. Kitchen, tile shower, large flat screen, wifi, twin day bed for lounging/sleeping, washer/dryer. There is a tenant in the 5th wheel. Dogs have been here. Small trailer is my sometimes home.
This 192 square foot tiny house is perfect for one, harbor view, large deck. Everything is new. I chose large, high quality appliances, and a custom tile shower to give the tiny house a luxurious feel. Rather than the 8' width imposed on tiny houses with wheels, I chose a 12'X16' footprint. No loft. I selected a vaulted ceiling, a big wall of windows and added a large deck to make this tiny feel expansive. I moved out of the tiny house for the summer and placed a little trailer between the tiny house and the fence line. This does not infringe upon your privacy, as the trailer is set back several feet further from the bluff and so no windows look onto your deck or living space. I have been loving the idea of living in a tiny house for several years, and with my brothers help, this dream came true! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Downtown Freeland, a 2 mile drive, features a public park with beach access and boat launch. Located just 10 miles from the popular seaside town of Langley, the area offers scenic parks and trails, wonderful restaurants, and is 12 to the Mukilteo / Whidbey Island Ferry. For dog lovers, the is an off leash beach 5 miles away, and a beautiful expansive off leash area at Green bank farm.
  • This place has everything you need (maybe bring a stool if you are a shorty) I made dinner 2 nights in a row. Great view!

    Karina2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was beyond perfect. Really sweet, humble neighborhood, such a good feel, super cleanly and just felt good. The view of the water and yard were incredible to wake up to, sit on the deck and admire during the day, and watch sunset colors from at night. I missed being there the day I left and definitely plan on coming back. To boot - Katie was an excellent and personable hostess. I recommend this stay 150%.

    Jazmin2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Katie’s tiny house is absolutely amazing. Such a wonderful, cozy, peaceful place. I loved my time there. The space was spotless and the check in was effortless. Thanks Katie.

    Nathan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway. Kitchen, full size bathroom, super hip space. Coming back in the summer to utilize the deck for sure! Katie kills it as a host!

    Cole2020-01-29T00:00:00Z

Quiet, peaceful neighborhood of second beach homes with weekenders and some full time islander residences. Walking distance to town and local beach park with dock, but wild enough for wildlife sightings. Usually the houses around us are empty second homes. Recommend Gordon's for fine dining, Timbuktu for coffee and gluten free and vegan food, Freehand Cafe for diner style food and local breakfast, and Charmer's Bistro for lunch and light suppers. Joe's Woodfired Pizza, China City for chinese with a sports bar.
  • This place was a hidden gem, and to think I almost did not book it. The house has amazing windows with great views to the bay. It was a short walk to the grocery store, coffee shop, and nearby park. The house was fully stock with everything needed for a family. I will definitely book again but in the summer. The house had three kayaks available but the weather was windy for our stay. One of my favorite Airbnb’s thus far.

    Otila2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, wonderful beach-y, very peaceful, low key vibe! Everything you need for a great stay, long or short. Comfy bed! Loved having the fireplace which of course I used, it's so soothing. The beach is right there and a lot of fun.... so... many... shells! Hope to be back for a longer stay! The hosts are great, awesome communication

  • Great centrally located place with an amazing view! The house is on a beautiful piece of property right next to the water.

    Sean2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect for our weekend stay! Location was unbeatable, and we loved being able to look directly out onto the water while enjoying our morning coffee. Jessie was quick to respond to any questions, and we had a great visit.

    Yuanyuan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy place, loved having the fire place. Response was always quick when I messaged. Would definitely book there again.

    Karen2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Baby Beach is a perfect place to relax, connect with nature, and have a lovely holiday! We highly recommend Jessie’s place. Spacious home, well equipped kitchen, and pet friendly. Our pups loved being outdoors and watching the ducks. The large windows facing the bay were a favorite pastime in the morning as we enjoyed our coffee.

    Jean2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This location is so private and peaceful. Two large windows overlooking the harbor allow for great bird watching. Small, but perfect for up to 4 guests. Well stocked kitchen. Just need your suitcase and what you want to cook. We’ll be back.

    Karen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and views with easy access to an off leash dog beach and a kitchen with absolutly everything you could imagine. Plently of places to walk around for the final 9pm dog walk of the evening. Lovley wood fireplace with a huge supply of wood was total bonus. Full laundry washer and dryer with soap supplies a total plus (dog related issue made good gain). Totally recommend for those looking to take a step back for a few days from a crazy World.

  • This was our second time staying at Jennifer's to celebrate our anniversary, and it did not disappoint! We love the peaceful setting, amenities (the hot tub is our favorite perk!) and the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. We will definitely be making our way back here soon!

    Zoe2020-03-23T00:00:00Z

The tiny house is located between the forest and the field. The floor area is 8'x10'. Downstairs there is a desk, folding chairs for guests, clothes hangers & shelves, a table, a microwave, a tiny fridge, and a Sun-Mar composting toilet in the back. Although the house is small, the king-size bed upstairs is big and private. There is power, heat and plenty of light, but no water and no internet connection. This is a no-smoking house, and animals must stay outside. Enjoy the peace.
COZY & IN THE WOODS: The tiny house is small, warm, quiet and cozy. Take your shoes off and relax. Because it is out in the woods, bugs can get in when the door is open. Open the curtains for light, close them for privacy. The Isolated Tiny House is a quiet retreat for one or two people, with minimal amenities, and a separate street access for parking. CONSTRUCTION: I dismantled a friend's garage and built the tiny house out of the lumber, inside and out. My goal was to build it entirely out of recycled materials, but I ran out of paneling for the ceiling and end walls and am waiting to find more. I am taking a poll whether the ceiling should be sheet-rock or wood panels, so I welcome your opinion. OUTDOORS: Next to the tiny house is your own fire circle. Feel free to gather sticks from the woods. In the field are two fast zip lines, a tire swing with steel cable, and a 100' water slide. Before playing on these toys, ask for instructions.
Neighbors stick to themselves and live on 2+ acres each.
  • The Tiny House is exactly as advertised, and the value cannot be beat. We viewed it as van camping without the van, and that made it luxurious! We found it very rustic (no running water, loft walls are unfinished), but warm and comfy, and perfect for an easy place to crash when you want to be on the Island after the last ferry departs. We did not get to meet Dean this time, but he made it easy to find and we felt welcome.

    Karen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • As I wrote earlier, I wasn't able to go, but it looks fabulous and I can't wait until I can.

    Timothy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Truly one of the quirkiest properties, this little tiny house sits in the midst of an old piano graveyard and is such a hoot! The fresh air and remote location couldn’t be beat, and falling asleep to the sound of the rain on the tin roof was wildly pleasant. Loved my little getaway!

    Chelsa2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very much what we expected; the description and pictures are accurate. It's a small house but lots of charm and fun outdoors!

    Amy2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Eccentric local. Cool people.

    Joseph2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place in the woods to experience the wind thru the trees, the crackle of a bonfire and a tiny minimalist warm cozy cabin. At night the owls sang with us and in the morning the deer paid us no attention. It was winter when we visited and I was glad for my waterproof boots, because it’s Washington in the forest 😊 I look forward to staying here again.

    Mara2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Dean is one of the nicest people I’ve met! 10/10 recommend

    Bryce2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny cabin is adorable, and Dean's house is a MARVEL. I stared at it with my jaw dropped. Unfortunately, I never got to meet Dean. Even so, he was helpful in messages. Just beware- I had no cell service in this part of the island.

Room is detached from house. Bedrooms: 1 Bathroom in house (brick walk, then paving steps to house). Please do not book with us if you are not prepared to walk or climb a few steps to the bathroom. New queen bed 2/1/17. Also older hide-a-bed. No kitchen in room, but in house. Enjoy hot tub under tall fir trees and island sky. Internet access available on you personal device. TV for DVDs and video cassettes only, not hooked to cable. This is an unlocked venue. Small refrigerator in room.
Read carefully - can accommodate up to 8 adults with additional facility booking. Garage Suite has a brand new queen bed as of February 1, 2017, in addition to an older hide-a-bed. Beautiful wooded lot with partial water/mountain views. Salt water beaches, fresh water lakes, State park, boat launches, golf, retail community all within ten minutes or less. Prepare for casual around our house. What is available is this: 1 bedroom in detached garage suite with bathroom a short walk to the house. One guest described the walk to the bathroom as a nature hike. Walk is over 85 feet over paving stone, paving steps on slight slope, and two steps onto a deck. In addition to queen bed there is an older hide-a-bed for an additional couple, although tall and heavier people have commented on the mattress not being real conducive to a good night's rest. For more room, our travel trailer can accommodate one or two couples and can be booked at "All In One Island Getaway" (Airbnb) and includes use of its kitchen, refrigerator, and bathroom. In other words, to maximize 8 people using our facility, four people would want to share the camping trailer together, with curtain separating sleeping spaces. We can work out details under special offer as we book.
Quiet partially wooded, sunny cul-de-sac. Working class. Deer, rabbits, squirrels, hummingbirds frequent the property.
  • Delightful hosts, great hot tub. Their quiet, lovely place is accessible by Island Transit bus, too!

    Valerie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Roger and Nancy were very generous with amenities and being helpful. They went above and beyond with cook ware when we wanted to make meals. I highly recommend staying with them.

    Alexis2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Enjoyed meeting Roger and warm hospitality. Not fancy but exactly what we need

    Greg2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • we loved our stay. Roger is a very friendly and helpful host. The listing is accurate. Rustic but cozy and warm with comfy beds. Rural experience where you can hot tub under the trees watching the full moon and watch old vcr tapes or cds. We even saw a rare pieballed ( white) deer the next day. It’s not far to walk to the bathroom, as long as you use a light for the steps which roger offered if we needed. Shower is very small but plenty of hot water. We live in the country so it felt a bit like home to us. We also enjoyed walking at double bluff beach just down the highway a few miles. Thanks again roger

    Sarah2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean and well kept. Hosts are very amicable and helpful.

    James2020-01-28T00:00:00Z

Upper Harbor Hideaway is the perfect spot for a weekend retreat. Home is a private living space built inside a shop located on the second acre. Feels like a cabin on the inside. Not fancy or upgraded, but you’ll enjoy a quiet, spacious area with a huge yard for plenty of games. Located on beautiful Whidbey Island just 20 minutes from the ferry and just minutes from downtown Freeland and downtown Langley full of tourism restaurants and shops.

  • Nice, cozy, quiet place to stay. It was perfect for my needs. Host is thoughtful and kind. I hope to stay there again. Safe Travels!

  • This place is great if you are staying on Whidbey Island. Randy was very accommodating and was in communication the whole time. I had a late check-in after a wedding and Randy was there to help my wife and I get into the bnb. Thanks Randy for the great place!

  • No frills quiet place to sleep. Posting said full kitchen but the stove had a sign on it "Do not use". This wasn't really an issue for us, but may be for someone that plans on cooking during their stay. Wifi was strong enough for us to stream a movie on our laptop. We enjoyed the peacefulness having our morning coffee outside.

  • Very cozy and comfortable for a weekend getaway from the city. The gas fireplace was especially cozy.

  • We spent two nights at Mary Kay’s place and recommend it to those looking for a comfortable, conveniently located place on Whidbey to get away!

    Marcelle2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, located close to all the great attractions of south Whidbey. Dinner in Langley, tacos in Freeland, low tides at Mutiny Bay, and a local wine and chocolate tour. February can sometimes be a bleak month in the northwest, but Mary Kay's place was a terrific place to enjoy the best of the island and relax.

    Karyn2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at this cozy, but surprisingly spacious cottage, and our dog Gus enjoyed himself too! Mary Kay was attentive and prompt in her communication. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a couple meals (and found what we needed to cook said meals at the grocery store up the road). Our favorite spots in the area were Rocket Tacos, Whidbey Island Bagel Factory, and the Double Bluff off-leash dog park. We'll need to come back in the summertime and make use of the grill and the patio in the back.

    Misha2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet retreat on the island. Welcoming house for families and dogs. Very clean!

    Lauren2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! What an amazing experience! Mary Kay was very friendly, responsive and helpful. The cottage was nicely decorated, very clean, comfortable and in a beautiful spot by the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Mary Kay’s cottage.

    Autumn2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and stylish, with lots of blankets, pillows, towels etc. Good WiFi and the upstairs loft is a great for a teen who wants their own space. Our 12 year old loved it! He used the self inflating mattress and enjoyed the view. My mom is in her 70s, and had everything she needed, so this is a great stay for multiple generations.

    Sara2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage has a simple, calming atmosphere, very comfortable beds and bedrooms, and is in a super location for exploring all of Whidbey. The heating systems worked well to keep us warm on cool days. We really appreciated the good quality of the pans and utensils in the kitchen. All the instructions provided (check-in and inside the house) were very clear and accessible. A very relaxing and comfortable place.

Relax in your large, private room with its own bath. Enjoy the views of water and trees and the many wild birds. WHIDBEY ISLAND is a national scenic treasure featuring historic Ft Casey SP, Ebey's Landing, Deception Pass Bridge, and other distinctive communities such as the historic villages of Coupeville and Langley. A little further north the SAN JUAN ISLANDs begin, and further still is BC, CANADA!
Your room and private bath are set in their own hallway, with access to the kitchen and private sitting areas nearby. Enjoy the sun on the deck as you gaze at the water in peaceful bliss. The area is extremely quiet. Whidbey island has everything anyone could wish for as a getaway. Several wedding venues are nearby and restaurants of almost every kind are 10 minutes away from the home, including gourmet experiences if you are so inclined. Arts and live music abound on the island and of course you won’t want to miss the nearby villages of Langley or Coupeville. For the more active, kayaking groups leave frequently, a wonderful long, sandy and walkable beach is near by and we love riding our bikes on the rolling hills.
My paradise is private, quiet and convenient. Our major grocery store and several restaurants are nearby - a little over a mile away.

  • Marilyn's place is lovely and peaceful. Whidbey Island is a treasure to discover!

  • Marilyn was a wonderful hostess. We enjoyed her beautiful home, that was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. There is also a private bath. And there is great tasting coffee provided by Marilyn every morning. You will enjoy walks you can take in this area, seeing the tall evergreens and the view of the bay. You’re also minutes from Freeland shopping.

    Elizabeth2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn was fantastic! She was incredibly thoughtful to my wife and our two little ones. The house was fantastic with great views of the woods and water.

    Michael2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn has a beautiful home and wonderful cat named Annie that was so nice to come home to each night. (Annie was not allowed in my rooms) Room was efficient size, bed was comfortable and Marilyn was very accommodating. All was as it was represented.

    Andrea2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice room in a good location Marilyn went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. Checking in and out was a breeze. Safe area with secure parking spot.

    Mark2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Marilyn's place is clean, very nice and roomy, and her kitty is an added bonus. It's very convenient to everything in Freeland. And it has a beautiful view. I loved my visit with Marilyn.

  • Three upstairs view is beautiful. We loved just hanging out and taking it all in. The location is perfect: right down the street from a park for kids and from several wineries and restaurants for the adults. The view and immediate location make you feel like you're super remote, while having the convenience of all sorts of amenities in town right around the corner. Truly was a wonderful stay. Would definitely come back

  • Such a gem of a place! We have a house not far from theirs and booked this space for overflow of guests for the weekend. The place was impeccable clean, and even though we didn't stay long, we noticed and appreciated the small touches they had for a rental (filter in coffee maker, lovely book of what to do in Whidbey). Check in was a breeze. My husband and I slept in the two twin beds and I had to ask about the mattress pad because it was one of the best nights sleep I had on the road. The other couple that was with us never stayed in an Air Bnb before and were quite surprised on how much they enjoyed it. I wouldn't hesitate to book again when we want to give our visitors a bit more space when they visit us. Thank you!

  • My children (ages18 and 13) and I had a “staycation” at Clearview Acres (being Islanders ourselves) and were blown away to say the least! While you are mere minutes from downtown Freeland, we felt like we were nestled in our own little utopia light years away from civilization. The views of the valley and the estate’s private lake are framed by towering evergreens and snow capped mountains off in the distance. Enjoying my morning coffee was akin to a spiritual experience watching the sunrise from the porch swing. We look forward to coming back in the warmer months to explore said valley and do some fishing in Lake Albert! Inside was a home away from home... Crisp white sheets and mountains of fluffy pillows in an amazingly comfortable bed, soft cream carpets and a plethora of cozy blankets perfect for cozying up on the couch in the living room to relax. The kitchen had all the essentials we needed to make home cooked meals in the full kitchen, there was even hot chocolate to enjoy while watching the sunset 😊. Thank you to our wonderful hosts who were extremely accommodating. My kids are already looking forward to our next stay!!!

    Katie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as the pictures depict! Lovely and open view because the house is situated on a hill. Might be a problem getting there if the weather is snowy or icy. Eagle's Perch is a wonderful studio with large picture windows to take in the water views on 3 sides. Who else can see a lagoon, canal and Puget Sound from their bed? It features an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, comfortable queen-sized bed, bistro dining set, a twin sized day bed and kitchenette with sink and hot plate/fridge/microwave/coffee and staples for simple cooking. We know how stressful these times are and take to heart that every surface, pillow, plate, door handle (even the soap dispenser is cleaned!) is properly cleaned and sanitized. We use seventh generation disinfectant spray and wipes (natural brand AND 99.9% effective). Even your door key pad and key has been cleaned. Keeping people healthy and offering them a respite in all this is important to me. Guests are welcome to lounge in the backyard (with lagoon access) or relax on their own porch. Guests may also access the private Lagoon Point beach directly across the street. Welcome! We are so delighted you have come to stay!
Lagoon Point is a quiet and beautiful community surrounded by lagoons, canal and water. It is very quiet here. We are not in the middle of a town, but we are an amazing gateway to other places on the Island as we are so centrally located. You can easily visit Greenbank Farm, the ferry to Port Townsend, Langley, Coupeville, Ebey's Landing, South Whidbey State Park - all within 15 minutes drive.
  • Adorable and romantic, I would definitely recommend it.

  • We had a great time at Eagles Perch. Lara’s place has lots of windows to let in the natural light and provide a nice view. Her place is also nice and quiet off the main road. Lara is a great host, quick to respond when we had questions.

  • This is a great space for a getaway. Very clean amenities and great views. The location is perfect. Great access to beach walks with great views across Puget Sound. Loved the hot tub under the stars. I highly recommend!

    Dave2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a sweet mid-week getaway in this lovely little studio. Communication with Lara was great and getting in was easy with the very thorough explanations. Though small, it has a nice layout and the lighting, color palette, decor, windows- create a feeling of spaciousness. The hot tub was wonderful feature on the cold and starry nights and we loved having the views of the lagoon and sound. The private beach just across the street was peaceful and gorgeous, great for meditation time. The linens on bed and for bathroom were all high quality and the shower was divine- great temp and pressure. The kitchenette is well-stocked to fix up little snacks or reheat goodies from the awesome restaurants. We spent the first evening in Greenbank/Freeland, the next day in Coupeville (after doing the Ebey Landing hike- thanks to Lara for the recommendation!), and the last day in Langley. We loved it all! Front Street Cafe had the best mussels, Toby's had the best beer, and Vail Wine Bar had a nice little sampling flight of delicious wines and some of the best clam chowder EVER. For breakfast, our favorite was Mukilteo Coffee Roasters Cafe in the Woods. But there were lots of places we never got to try, so we will be back!

  • Lovely, secluded place, and the perfect weekend escape from the city! We spent beautiful days with long beach walks and coastal hikes, and explored cafes and restaurants on Whidbey. Lara's place is in the perfect location and close enough to everything you may want to visit. Highly recommended!

    Josephine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was absolutely perfect for me and my 14-mo son!! I really appreciated having the comfy chair for nursing, the tea kettle and tea, the warm light, and hardly any childproofing issues, so I could relax and let Liam roam free. It was also great how easy it was to get in touch.

    Madeleine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really lovely place for a weekend getaway. The surrounding area is beautiful. The room is very lovely with lots of windows for views. The host Lara is easily accessible and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was incredible. There was a magical sunset one night that blew us away! So beautiful! Lara was really helpful and easy to communicate with.

165 sq foot dreamy Tiny Home in a woods-setting with a covered porch. The interior has a wood stove, stove top, mini fridge, shower, and eco-friendly composting toilet. The loft bedroom is serene with a skylight to view the stars. A futon couch provides a downstairs bed option. Only a few miles of the Clinton ferry, downtown Langley, wineries, shops, hiking, beaches, and more! Glamping getaway! Pet friendly, but please note there are friendly farm dogs wondering the property.
This Tiny House was featured on HGTV, and like most Tiny Homes it is built like a cabin on wheels. The interior decor is farmhouse charm meets rustic cottage. Large 60” projection screen with standard DVD player is provided, but please note there is no cable or Wifi service in the woods. Some DVDs, books, and games are provided, but feel free to bring your own. The DVD player is also a Bluetooth player so you can enjoy music or the radio. There is a staircase created from reinforced wood crates which leads to the lofted main bedroom with queen size bed. Please note that the stairs are steep. The couch also folds out into a full-size bed with a futon mattress. The kitchen includes a propane stovetop, kettle & french press, stovetop toaster, a mini-fridge with a freezer, and everything you need to cook a meal. A small bathroom is located in the back with a hot shower, small tub (for washing children or doggies), and a waterless top-of-the-line composting toilet (eco-friendly and off-grid). You might need to empty the urine chamber in the toilet every few days, but it’s easy. Or, if you prefer, pee in the woods and don’t worry about it! It’s that private out here! “Solids” chamber of the toilet you don’t have to worry about. For warmth, there is electric heat, or a gorgeous stainless steel wood stove. Outside you can enjoy large covered porch with comfy furniture and gorgeous string lights - the perfect place to sip your morning coffee. There is also an outdoor fire pit (chiminea) with folding camp chairs & marshmallow roasting sticks, a propane bbq, zen area, a few short hiking trails, and a wood chopping area where you are welcome to gather and chop your own wood. A new addition is a macrame swing! A real woodsy getaway! Friendly pets are allowed, but please keep them on leash and clean up after them. There are a few friendly off leash dogs on the property. They mostly stay away from the tiny house, but there is a chance you could encounter them. Please make sure your dog is friendly with others.
This Tiny House is parked on the forested portion of a working farm. You will feel like you have your own private oasis. Langley is only a 5 minute drive, and the Clinton ferry is only 2 miles away. There is a lot to see and do on this beautiful island. Recommendations for wineries, shops, restaurants, beaches, hikes and more will be provided in the house manual.
  • This is the second time staying at journey and we had a great time! İt was quite cold, but the little fire place kept us nice and toasty.

  • Cutest place! Tucked in the trees this adorable tiny home is a must visit. Super cozy and fun with the best atmosphere one could ask for!

  • The perfect escape from real life! Jenna's Tiny Home has everything you need for an off-grid getaway from it all. Warm and cozy with all the amenities. Highly recommend!

    Marley2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna’s tiny home is truly something to behold! Not only is it comfortable, it’s extremely functional as well. It truly had everything we needed. Even my 6 ft 4 boyfriend was able to fully enjoy the space! Staying in this little nook in the woods was the perfect getaway for us. We look forward to coming back again!!

    Kelsey2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Other than the incredibly cozy stay, I just have to say the amount of tiny touches and amentities in this little place blew us away! Jenna really put a ton of work into her cabin and the love of it shows through. Not your run of the mill Airbnb at all. Do not pass up a chance to stay here! And seeing that massive, adorable dog Pokey looking in through the window was a pleasant, startling surprise haha! Such a sweet dog that wants to just say a quick hello. The bed is so cozy, the bathroom and kitchen were seamless to navigate. We watched movies on the projector while it poured outside. Felt like living in a movie haha! The grocery store is literally a 20 seconds drive away, with lots of coffeeshop/food options next to it. And even with being so close to it you still feel like you are deep in the woods.

  • Adorable, special little space!

    Michelle2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • 5/5 great place to stay. I've stayed in a quite a few tiny homes by now, and this is right up there with the best. Try and plan for a weekend with good weather in order to enjoy the porch and fire pit, but it rained our entire stay and we still had a great time.

    Mathias2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and location! We loved our time in this house. Jenna had everything we wanted in a tiny house. We were 4 adults and fit comfortably, though it was quite cozy!

  • Place was sparkling clean, and centrally located in the small town. Nice view of lake in the am to wake up to. Intstructions were all by email and very clear. Sad to not make it to their winery, but am back for one last work trip in Feb.

    Amy2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay on Whidbey! The condo was perfect for our overnight trip - close to Langley which we were visiting, cozy, and very clean! If anyone is wondering the bed in the bedroom was very springy (maybe a tiny bit too much but we still slept well on it) so it seems like it’s been replaced since the older reviews commenting on it. We really liked the condo and would return in the future!

  • Small but lovely apt, great view and quiet place to relax.

    Sarah2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was just a lovely little spot to have some quiet. My favorite was the sweet veranda with my book, coffee and a snuggly blanket- the hummingbirds were also friendly. Don’t miss dinner at Bloom’s winery- yummy! I was too late for a wine tasting, so my waitress offered me a free glass of wine. Chase a sunset, for sure! I ended up at Bush Point. Fun little areas to explore- so many beaches- yummy treats and the occasional brewery... A truly delightful weekend!

    Peg2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was really nice — I especially enjoyed the shower. The location was great for exploring Whidbey island, and it's a short drive to quaint Langley, WA. There's a great shopping center covering any needs you might have a short drive away as well.

    Jason2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay - the location is excellent (less than 5 mins into Freeland) and the view from the patio is gorgeous. The space is the perfect size for a couple or small family (we had our toddler with us) and the recommendations in the welcome book were spot on. We ran into our hosts a couple of times and they were extremely friendly. Highly recommend this spot.

    Abbie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this cabin so so much. Truly off the beaten path, complete solitude among towering trees. Perfection. Will for sure stay again.

    Amy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a sweet, cozy cabin. Tiffany clearly goes above and beyond to make this space extra comfortable for her guests. The location is secluded and lovely, with such a beautiful porch! My whole experience felt extremely safe, private, and comfortable for my getaway in the woods — it was exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet stay on Whidbey.

    Marina2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tiffany's cabin was very well kept, with plenty of small touches that made our stay special (slippers, extra toothbrush, extra blankets). We'd happily stay here again the next time we're in whidbey!

    Alex2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very happy with our experience at your cabin. It was exactly as deescribed & what we were seeking: a quiet get-away in the woods. The cabin is a cozy, wonderful, perhaps magical place. And, for those who appreciate cabins in the forests--we highly recommend it! We will visit again! Thanks. John

Stay at Sunset Beach Cottage and taste the pervasive charm, the freshness of beautiful summer nights, breath the salty ebb and flow of the tide, and the sky dusted with stars is radiant Beachside vacation Rental on South Whidbey Island at Maxwelton Beach, Useless Bay in Admiralty Inlet. Relax to the lapping tide on Useless Bay and view the sunsets over Admiralty Inlet and the Olympic Mountain Range. Watch as the ships pass through the shipping lanes of Puget Sound... All sales are final.
Enjoy a Beachside vacation Rental on South Whidbey Island at Maxwelton Beach. Relax, walk, smell and taste the sea air. Watch the Eagles dance and the Great Blue Heron lift their wings. Experience the sky change hues at sunset. Dig clams, kayak, beachside fire and patio. As featured in the Seattle Times: "COZY COTTAGE FOR YOUR ISLAND GETAWAY" The driftwood was strewn about like Tinker Toys and the sandy beach had washed ashore a myriad of shells and treasures. I'd sipped coffee at my beachside cabin while watching the sun glint off the Olympics. Now, on one of the coldest, grayest, wettest mornings of the year for the rest of the NW, here I was walking along a cloudless, sun-filled stretch of tideland known as Maxwelton Beach, watching a stranger chase his yellow Lab in and out of the surf as if it were mid-September. It seemed a world away from Seattle - yet close enough I could be back, if I wanted, in time for lunch. For Seattle-area residents looking for a winter weekend getaway they can reach without actually going far, it's hard to top Sunset Beach Cottage. Tucked inside the rain shadow of the Olympics, Whidbey Island can seem like a veritable desert oasis in winter, noticeably warmer and brighter, even, than towns just 20 miles away. Welcome to Sunset Beach Cottage in Maxwelton: Located near the island's southern tip, it promised sunset views of the Olympic Mountains and a private beach. And the owners were accommodating, promising to leave the key on the kitchen table and allowing me to check in at 7 am. While I'd learned over the years to do my homework and keep expectations low, Sunset Beach Cottage was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were carpeted and wood paneled, with a 1950's feel. The online pictures were a good representation - which isn't always the case. There were mountain views form the kitchen and the bedroom, and the beach was 10 feet from the door. The owners had left a long note suggesting everything from restaurants to a nearby golf course that charged $10 for nine holes. The closet was stocked with rubber boots for shell collecting and clam digging and slippers for the evenings. (Craig Welch, Seattle Times) Note: Sunset Beach Cottage has a non-refundable cancellation. Once you book, your reservation is non-refundable. This policy is different and stricter than the Airbnb policy. Our cancellation policy allows no refunds on cancellation. There is a $25 fee per night per extra guest above two, including infants. Not suitable for infants - please list infants as children. Must advise host upon inquiry and prior to booking that there is a pet. Pets are subject to approval and by arrangement. There is a fee for pets of $25 per pet per night.
This vacation rental is RIGHT ON THE BEACH! 7 steps to the sand to low-bank waterfront. Beach walking is infinite both North and South on firm, sandy beaches. Maxwelton Park, right on the beach is 1/4 mi stroll down the beach or on Maxwelton Rd. Outdoor Salmon Adventure is a quarter mile drive north on Maxwelton Rd - Forest, Maxwelton Creek, Education on salmon, short trails. Island Greens Golf course is 1 mile up French Rd (N on Maxwelton; 1st Right on French). 9 hole, 3 par, located in serene forests of South Whidbey Island. Rated as one of the Best Courses of it's type in the Northwest. Public driving range too.
  • Gorgeous location. Lovely cottage especially appointed for couples wanting a spectacular getaway. There is a beautiful view of the Olympic mountains, the cottage is on the beach with a great big deck and an outdoor fire pit. Indoors is romantic, warm and designed for comfort and sharing a lovely weekend at the beach. The host is fabulous!

  • We had another great time at Paula's place. Hope to be back soon!

    Mark2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place has an amazing view and the beach is super quiet. The house and the furniture are older but that gives it a cute charme. The master bedroom has no door but curtains to separate it from the living room/dining area. Which was no problem for us. The matress is more on the harder side. The extra bedroom is a really small room. The house was really clean so we could feel really comfortable. The nespresso machine was an extra treat and Paula left some other cute treats in the house like games, hot chocolate and wine which we really appraciated. Next time we hope we can stay longer to enjoy the increadible location.

    Tianna2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is not my first stay at Paula's place, nor will it be my last. When I can afford it, it is my favorite place to go to relax and unwind. In fact, it is the ONLY place I go. The cottage and the setting instantly puts me into a relaxed mode and all of my daily cares fade away during my stay. I love to buy my groceries on my way there, stock the refrigerator, and never leave the place. However, if you want to explore the island, there is much to do.

Enjoy western views of the Olympic Mountains in a 1940s cabin 1 1/2 hours away from Seattle. Get here over a bridge from Stanwood (no ferry). The cabin is situated on a hill overlooking Saratoga Passage and Whidbey Island for great sunsets and peace and quiet. There is access to the Puget Sound beach below (about a 5 minute walk) where you can walk the beach. Access is dependent on tides. Crabbing is possible during season. (Directions available at the cabin)
Check in time is any time after 3:00. Let yourself in. Check out is noon. Check your airbnb app messages for details about keys. There is one bedroom with a comfy homemade queen bed. Linens and towels provided. The bathroom has a bathtub with shower. There is a wide screen tv, radio, dvd. Wifi is available. Only very basic food staples are stocked (sugar, salt, pepper, etc) You may use the washer and dryer if you need to. Special accommodations and pricing would have to be made for more than two people because of room configuration.
This is a rural residential neighborhood surrounded by tall firs and the neighbor's private woods in back. Next door to the north is a 17 acre farm with its original barn and 1930's house. Across the street is a housing development but the view of the Sound and the Olympics is over their rooftops.
  • Beautiful cabin with a breathtaking view. Hard to take your eyes off of it to do anything else! Passed a whole day just reading on that cozy couch, looking out the window at the ocean and mountains. Dreamy spot!

  • This space is wonderful. We immediately felt relaxed with the views of the water, the coziness of the home, and the right amount of space. Perfect for 1-2 people. We loved it!

    Tessa2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is an out of the way place in many ways, but close enough to I-5 to make it a quick commute from our urban home in Bellevue. The bungalow is wonderful, with lots of lamps for reading and writing. Windows everywhere let in lots of light too. A lovely view of Saratoga Passage and the Olympic Mountains. The little cottage is set high on a bluff, off a quiet road. (There is a mini housing development across the road.) Lots and lots of privacy, with peek a boo views of houses off in the distance on either side of the property. All the kitchen goodies you'd need, even a blender. Amazing bath towels, fluffy fluffy fluffy. All the plumbing fantastic and the Wifi super duper, with options of an excellent collection dvd movies, a wide variety-"flavors" to choose from. Bottom line I'd come back, to unwind, be cozy and watch the clouds and waters. This could be my new home away from home. Much thanks to Karen and Jack for a fantastic island home for us city people.

    Karen2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a she & me weekend away with my bride. Loved the cozy space, the furnishings and the view. Hospitality was fantastic. We arrived during a windstorm and Jack met us with a big smile when we arrived and made sure we parked where the car was safe from "shedding" trees. He also made sure we had lanterns if the power went out. Karen was also very easy to reach during our stay. We hope to go back soon!

    Jon2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just as advertised and loved the feel of the "little old house" along with the beautiful views and peace and quiet. Stayed here for a couple of solitude/R&R days and Karen's place was just what we were looking for. Will definitely stay here again the next time!

Light-filed refuge in the woods. Writers retreat, quiet womb like space; a place for solace and introspective. Deer, birds, nature watching, reading, calm, sweet- heart time. Near the Cottage, also for rent by the night, but both very private.
During the COVED-19 virus time: I do accept bookings. I also have been self quarantining March 2nd; my life usually is not that different :-) I wipe down all the door knobs and light switches and most of the things a guest may touch. Bring your own cooked meals or deli-style food. I wash all linens in hot water. Feel free to ask questions. Welcome to this Bohemian Island House! ALL KIND PEOPLE WELCOME, no matter what religion-, sexual orientation- or country you are from! Winter price is $89.- with some higher prices on Holidays & summer season:) The Home is set near the Cottage. THINK HYGGE! It is set among the trees on 3 acres on beautiful Whidbey Island, 2 miles from the town of Freeland (antique stores, grocery store, post office, etc., etc.), about 5 miles from my favorite beach, "Double Bluff", that holds stunning views of the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympic Mountains with miles of walking. The Small House is a cozy, light- filled and airy space with its many windows and skylights. It is meant to be an adult getaway. The bedroom has opening windows and a skylight over the bed for a more spacious feel and to look at the stars; it has a feeling of sleeping in a tree house. It has a comfy, queen size bed, a writing desk and chair. There is plenty of closet space in case you decide to stay longer. The regular sized kitchen is equipped with a large fridge, a gas range, a toaster oven, a coffee maker, a toaster, an electric tea kettle, all the dishes and basic condiments (salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee). It has a granite and a butcher top counter. There is colorful Italian tile in the shower and Ubatuba (dark green with gold flecks) granite on the bathroom floor. In the living room, you may lounge on the inviting 16 foot window bench seat to take in the open forest view through the 13' window, or enjoy the WiFi to write those long- due letters on your computer. Have your morning breakfast in the sun room or on the spacious deck and listen to the birds. This House is for 2 people only that are sharing the queen size bed, even though you may think someone can sleep on the couch, I do not allow it. Either way, this super quiet romantic place for two will leave you nurtured and nourished by its splendid green views and quiet nature surrounds. I love how quiet it is here, and how dark it gets at night because we are far away from city lights. Each neighbor has 3 to 5 acres of property, and from mine I can see a little bit of the home of one of them. I like that it is only about 2 miles to Freeland where I can find the grocery store and post office as well as some stores for treasure hunting or a cafe to sip coffee in on a rainy day. Side Story: In August of 1996, I found this lovely property, that before me was owned by Jim, a literal hermit. Jim hand dug the 300' drive way, he build the Sears kit home, he knew the deer by generation, and he never cut a tree; he burned presto logs. Jim lived there from 1963 until his death in 1995. Since then, I have brought in power and telephone, added the bedroom and sun room as well as the decks, totally re-did the inside of this home, and created several gardens. I shall always be grateful to Jim for having set up this property in such a wonderful way. (And please: do read the house rules! That way there are no surprises for you.) There are several 3 and 5 acre parcels off our gravel road. We mostly are folks in our 50's or older, it is a peaceful neighborhood.
  • A piece of art. Nothing in the home was standard. Everything was on purpose. We found ourselves walking around trying to take it all in. Someone has quite an eye for design. Loved all the rugs.

  • This cozy and tasty place is the an ideal roost when visiting the island. It has become our home away from home. The kitchen has everything we need to cook all of our meals, the bed is comfy, the color palate so warm and whimsical, and the quiet of the forest is peppered with the birdsong of spring. Mandeja is a gracious host. We have been here several times, and hold this place in our hearts as a spot to return.

  • Perfect for our romantic getaway.

    Leslie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our fourth time visiting the island in a year, and each time we’ve stayed at one of Mandeja’s places. They are unlike any place else we’ve ever stayed so keep coming back, leaving refreshed in body, mind and spirit. Every time we open the door to the House in the Woods, we feel like we are home! Thanks for everything, Mandeja. You know we’ll be back soon! Melissa & Bob

  • Charming, serene and absolutely perfect location. I needed a few days to do “nothing” and unwind after a very stressful period at work. This place was just what I needed in a perfect setting. Isolated but still close to civilization if you want it. If you’re considering something similar just go for it.

    Ryan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • It was honestly a super cute and quiet space. It was really cool to see how much natural light was there and the fact that it was basically nestled in the forest made it much more peaceful. Would highly recommend for a nice get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We welcome all to our peaceful hideaway on beautiful Whidbey Island. We call it Wits' End, because, when you're at the end of your rope, retreat here to let your worries melt away, with ocean air, garden treasures, and island adventures aplenty. You're a short walk from the beach and the home includes plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy.
We do vacation here often, so don't be surprised that there are clothes in the drawers, maybe a half-finished puzzle on the loft table, or even a freshly-run load of dishes in the dishwasher. We'll make sure the place is clean and comfortable for you and your family.
Golfer? We're a five-minute walk from the Holmes Harbor Golf and Beach Club. You'll also be minutes away from a major grocery store and a variety of restaurant options. If you need recommendations, just ask!
  • The place has a relaxing vibe and was very comfortable. We stayed in and read and painted with watercolors most of the time but there were nice areas to walk and shop, too.

  • We loved every minute of our stay at Tyler and Keegan’s place. Loved the open space design with spectacular views. As an added bonus we discovered a beautiful golf course a block away. We will definitely try to book again!

  • Spacious, clean, well-equipped and comfortably furnished home...with a spectacular view!. Sure, the place is clearly used by the family that owns it, but that only adds to its charm. Wits' End exceeded our expectations on with its size, its view, and the extras like the xbox projector and hummingbird-buzzing garden.

  • A charming, cozy little house in a quiet neighborhood with a great view of the water. Wonderful collection of books is a plus. Easy check in and great communication from Tyler and Keegan.

  • Lovely, contemporary home with all the perfect touches! Patrick gave us great suggestions for where to go on the island. We loved it all!

    Amy2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect for my friend's birthday! We had a blast on the island and the house was the cherry on top.

    Benny2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this house! My mom, sister, and I came here for a girl's weekend over Mother's Day and had a lovely time. Felt very at home. We'd absolutely book again.

    Jessica2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place! We’d come again! Modern, clean, and very spacious and comfortable. The host is very thorough and accommodating. We felt right at home!

  • Sarah was a wonderful host and her home was great! It was very stylishly decorated and had a homey feel. Nicely located just a short drive from downtown Langley but isolated enough for some privacy. We had a wonderful stay and Sarah was extremely quick to respond with any questions. She even gave us suggestions on what to do while visiting. We would definitely stay again!

    Nick2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Four of us had the pleasure of inaugurating the lovely Beachwood Bungalow this weekend. It was the perfect base for our outings—everything is close by, and Sarah, our host, left local tips for eating, which were spot on. When we felt like staying in, we utilized the fully-stocked kitchen to make dinner. The individually controlled heaters were a nice amenity. Our tallest person (over 6’), fit on the single bed in Charlotte’s room. I predict, with its close proximity to Langley, that this place will book fast.

    Christine2019-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, comfortable home with thoughtful style and special little amenities (real cream, butter, juice). Nice quiet place which makes relaxing easy! The hosts were great at giving clear, timely instructions about the house and check in. The location was great if you want a quick drive into Langley. We thought the space was especially great for a family. My husband, 1 year old son and I were very comfortable. Everything you need for cooking was there, which is sometimes a rarity at Airbnb’s.

Here is a video featuring this yurt retreat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Wm7I2LPimo NOTES: The yurt is in the woods, on a farm, in a rural setting. That means while you may be able to fall asleep to the cooing of great horned owls outside and the soft sound of rain falling on the dome above, you may also hear the sound of roosters crowing in the morning. The yurt is on the south end of the island which is made up of many idyllic farms, homesteads, and forests. Animal sounds are part of the beauty in this space and way of life. The outdoor shower has propane heated hot water but the sink inside the yurt and outhouse do not have a hot water. The outhouse has a Nature’s Head composting toilet. It looks and acts like a flush toilet with a few modifications. They are clean, efficient, easy to use and not smelly. Brief instructions are provided to ensure you have a wonderful experience. To keep with the nature based experience, we do not have WiFi or a tv. There are several cafes and coffee shops with internet access nearby and even a coworks space.
Our farm is in the middle of all that the idyllic south end has to offer! • We had such an incredible stay at the yurt! It’s very cozy and clean, and the outdoor amenities (toilet, shower) were super nice! We loved many of the special amenities (record player, instruments) that made our stay even more enjoyable. I would recommend this yurt to anyone and hope to stay again!

  • Perfect romantic getaway; just as we expected. Accommodations were spot on and there were personal, thoughtful touches all around. Highly recommended!

    Catherine2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience, so nice. The inside is welcoming and inviting, with little touches of pottery and unique decor throughout. The bed is very comfortable and clean, same with the entire space. Our favorite part was hearing the rain on the dome skylight while being warm and toasty inside by the fire. Wonderful. Oh the hot water is a really nice touch!

    Meg2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay at the Yurt! It is our second stay and it was great. We stayed over the new year and it was a great place to do so! They also provided us with some extra fire wood which was nice! It's definitely cozy in the winter. Our first trip was in the early summer so definitely recommend in winter as well!

    Sami2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was a perfect little get away! Just the kind of find I think Airbnb is ideal for: a unique on-of-a-kind place to stay and be transported. All the little decor touches made it elegant and rustic at the same time. It was a romantic staycation for us! Not too far from Seattle.

    Careth2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This yurt was so lovely. It had great vibes helped along by the woods surrounding us and the fire and records inside. Perfect.

  • This place was exactly what we needed to get away for the weekend. It was a very quiet street with a beautiful view. Our dogs felt right at home. They provided all things you would need to have a weekend away from technology (but still had WiFi). Very convenient to many things in South Whitby!

    Vinu2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful, peaceful place! We didn't want to leave :) great amenities, beautiful view and cozy atmosphere, why go out? Though we did enjoy getting out with the dogs to explore the nearby beach, cooking dinner at home was the perfect bookend of the day. And Mandeja and Davide were wonderful hosts! We hope to be back again soon

    Brandon2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment at Mandeja's house is cozy and private, yet has a gorgeous view that invites the guest to get outside. I loved Mandeja's colorful decor and attention to cleanliness. After an active day of exploring it was a pleasure to come back for a cup of tea and downtime snuggled under the fuzzy throw. Although this was my first visit to Whidbey Island I found the location near Freeland to be ideal for my needs, with beaches, hiking, birding, restaurants, and shopping close by. Mandeja and Davide are friendly, helpful hosts. I look forward to making this apartment a regular get-away destination.

    Ellen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed at Mandeja and Davide's apartment many times because it's so beautiful, comfortable, well-located, and clean. This visit was no exception. The apartment was spotless and roomy, with a gorgeous view of Useless Bay. Mandeja is always a great communicator, so logistics are smooth. Of course we'll come back again!

    Gail2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • A special gem! Incredible views, amazing amenities (everything you could want/need), thoughtful hospitality— this place is 10/10, esp. for dog owners. Cozy , calming and nourishing, like a warm hug from the islands. Mandeja was so kind and made me feel safe and supported being in a new place alone. I will be back !

    Emmaline2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying with Mandeja and Davide. The place is so welcoming, filled with light and thoughtful tasteful touches. It's the kind of place you can use as a base camp for hiking, shopping and all but also a wonderful place to just hang, look at the sky, the water, listen to the birds and so on. We are definitely going back!

    Cecilia2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Mandeja's place is perfect. Warm and cozy, with beautiful art (those paper flowers! wow!), a gorgeous view, and little touches that made me feel welcome and cared for. I especially loved sitting in the rocking chair and looking out at the Bay. The space was immaculate when I arrived, and has a really well-equipped kitchen. Communication with Madeja was warm and clear. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Meet The Whidbnb! This 950-sq. ft. Whidbey Island beach cabin is just a 2-minute walk to the water. The space features boho/mid-century modern decor, a well-appointed kitchen, cozy beds, covered parking, and a fully-fenced yard. Everyone is welcome at The Whidbnb. Dogs, too! :) We created the space as a quiet retreat from the hustle-and-bustle of Seattle, and boy, does it deliver! Whether you stay for a weekend or a week, you'll leave recharged and refreshed.
The cabin is located in well-known Bush Point in South Whidbey, which is right outside of Freeland proper. Bush Point offers sweeping views of the Puget Sound and Olympic mountains—both of which you can see from inside and outside of the cabin. We recently fenced in the yard, making it an excellent outdoor hangout for families, friends, and dogs. Step out onto the deck and enjoy a nice cup of tea or glass of wine—the views are fantastic, no matter the time of day or year. While the cabin is certainly vintage (and has some of its charming quirks as a result!), we've ensured the space is clean and comfortable and stocked with all the comforts of home. The Whidbnb is also tech-savvy with WiFi, a Smart TV for those cozy Netflix nights, and keyless entry. ------------------------------------------------------- A few things to note: [5'S A BREEZE, 6 IS A SQUEEZE] We've set the listing up to accommodate 5 adults comfortably: 2 in each queen bed, and 1 on the pull-out futon. However, with the right attitude and sense of adventure, the futon could *technically* fit an extra person to squeeze in a total of 6. We've done it and can attest that it's okay for a short-term stay (or for two kiddos!), but just wanted to throw out a disclaimer to ensure your group REALLY likes each other before booking with 6! ;) [DOG FRIENDLY] We love dogs! If you'd like to bring your dog, no prob—we just ask that you give us a heads-up! The cleaning fee is set to accommodate dog stays and we make our best effort to ensure cleanliness from fur and everything else that comes along with our 4-legged friends! [ALLERGY CALL-OUT] We are a dog-friendly space, and while we do a thorough deep-cleaning after any four-legged guests stay with us, the Whidbnb may not be well-suited for anyone with pet allergies. [VINTAGE SPACE] This cabin has been tastefully renovated, but like any 80-year-old house near the water, it does have its "charm"! It tends to get a little humid and chilly when the temps dip, so we've set up space heaters, extra blankets, and dehumidifiers for your comfort.
Bush Point is a quiet beach community right outside of Freeland, WA in South Whidbey. To the west, you see the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain Range, which makes for some stunning sunsets. You're within a 10-minute drive to grocery stores, restaurants, wineries, and coffee shops. We're glad to recommend our favorites.
  • After reading all of Kathy and Mark's 5-star reviews, we were excited for our weekend stay at the Whidbnb. And I must say, they 100% lived up to those reviews! My fiancé and I were staying the weekend on Whidbey following our engagement photoshoot. Kathy and Mark had a bottle of wine, sweet snacks and dog treats waiting for us when we arrived -- all next to a message board congratulating us on our engagement. What a warm, personal touch! The house is the perfect size, and is thoughtfully decorated. The beds are comfy -- which can be hard to find with Airbnbs. And everything is thoughtfully labeled -- not only in an easy-to-navigate fashion, but very cute labels! If you have your pup with you, this is the most dog-friendly Airbnb! Like I mentioned, dog treats were waiting for our boy when we got there. There were plenty of dog blankets, dog towels, poop bags, etc. And the backyard is large and completely fenced in! Plus, a beautiful view of the mountains and the water. Lastly, Kathy and Mark were incredibly communicative, which is always much appreciated. We felt very taken care of. We will definitely be staying here again!

    Emily2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far our most favorite Airbnb stay. We have visited other "dog friendly" places and the WhidBNB is above the rest. From the thoughtful touches, to the pup supplies (calming treats, regular treats, pup blankets, leash hook, dog bed, the list goes on) you can tell that the owners are dog lovers. The fully fenced yard is flat and spacious and a great place for dogs to run wild and owners to enjoy some beer on the deck while looking at the water and the mountains. The house is a short stroll from a beach access area and a few minutes drive from a small father-son distillery (Mutiny Bay). It is a quiet and relaxing spot to enjoy with friends.

  • Our stay was perfect. The home is clean and thoughtfully decorated, the yard was perfect for the dog, and the beach is so close—we walked multiple times a day. The owner also provided a list of recommendations of restaurants and places to go/things to do nearby, which we appreciated and used. Communication was prompt, check in/out was easy, we were 10 minutes from town for trips to the store or a bite to eat...I can’t say enough good things! We can’t wait to come back!

  • The WhidBNB was incredible. We could not have been happier with our stay! Katherine and Mark were wonderful hosts, they really put a lot of personal touches to make it feel special (for both us and our pup). We stayed for Valentine’s Day weekend, and Katherine and Mark went above and beyond...we arrived with the place decorated and some Valentine’s Day treats set out for us! The space was darling, and they had the place stocked with almost anything you could possibly need! The kitchen had a ton of tools that made it really convenient to cook there, the beds were very comfortable, and the spacious back yard was quite the treat for our dog. We were beyond pleased with our stay, especially for the great price. We will most definitely be back to the WhidBNB!

  • This was our first Air BnB experience and it certainly exceeded our expectations. After a much busier start to our January than we anticipated, the weekend we spent on Whidbey Island was welcomed time away. We were able to unplug professionally and enjoy the quiet. Seriously the neighborhood was so quiet. We enjoyed views of the water from the living room as well as enjoy many quick trips down to the beach. They had everything we needed and could have wanted. The massive selection of Bubbly and La Croix was my personal favorite. We definitely plan to be back! Thanks for sharing your peaceful space with us.

  • Expect your expectations and experience to be blown out of the water. Kathy and Mark do a phenomenal job and the Whidbnb is undoubtedly one of the best listings that I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The space is perfect for solo travelers, pet owners, couples and small families: Kathy and Mark's attention to detail and little touches really help enhance the experience and comfort. The beds we're also incredibly comfortable, the space has a fresh lavender scent, and no lingering dog odor. The fully fenced yard is a huge plus for dog owners as my pups had a blast and enjoyed almost as much as we did. 11/10 experience and if Kathy and Mark would be gracious enough to have us again, we know where we'll be staying!

  • This Airbnb is amazing! Perfect for a weekend away. Very close to the beach and had so many thoughtful touches! Our little corgi pup had a blast too and loved the extra thought they put in for her (including the dog treat and towels to wipe her paws). Loved every aspect of this place!

  • Such an amazing house! This was easily one of the best Airbnbs we've stayed in. Thoughtful touches, great communication, and well equipped to meet your every need. It's located in a quiet community with great views.

Imagine a bright, clean, custom-built cottage, with wrap-around deck, separated from our main house by a shared courtyard garden. Then add the hot-tub and acres of quiet just a 5-minute drive from the beach or 15 minutes from the wonderful shops & restaurants of Langley. Truly the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway...
The cottage is perfect for a couple or a single visitor. In a pinch, we can provide a foam mattress to put on the floor for a child traveling with you. The built-in bookshelves are stocked with a wide range of favorites and the private back deck—just right for a summer siesta—looks out on a sloping meadow.
Our property is at the very end of a quiet 1/2-mile long, unpaved road, so expect to hear owls and frogs at night and birds in the morning. Even with our quiet location, you'll only be minutes from many of the best spots on the island.
  • If you’re looking for a lovely, peaceful getaway in a beautiful, tranquil location - this is the place for you! Jim and Christine are incredibly nice folks and hospitable hosts, the cottage itself is cozy and comfortable, and the hot tub is the cherry on top!

  • Amazing location. Enter through dense woods of gorgeous huge trees to a magical customized cottage which looks like a miniature version of the larger house it sits next to . A lot of love and attention to detail has gone into this place (even handmade soap!!). You'll want to stay forever. Jim & Christine are extremely warm and welcoming. They were very aware and careful given the current state of things to make us feel safe in this space. Spotless! Everything is organized perfectly to make any visit smooth and wholly enjoyable. We got a lot of much needed rest. Thank you!

  • Jim and Christine’s place is the perfect place to go for a relaxing and cozy weekend. It isn’t far from a couple of the major towns in Southern Whidbey and it feels so restful and charming inside. Much care and thought was put into creating the cottage and it is a place I’d definitely come back to. Also, they were great hosts! They were friendly, great at communication and were amazing people to meet.
