Elliott was a great host and the house was exactly what he describes on the listing. So, if you read the description carefully and it sounds fine to you, you will enjoy your stay. One thing to note is that it takes 40 to 60 minutes from the house to the city centre, so be prepared for bus rides if you have business in the city centre. Otherwise, it was a cozy house to stay, and despite some downsides such as slow running water—specified in the description—Elliott's house is a great place to stay with a welcoming host.

It was an amazing stay! Elliott is concerned to make everything as comfortable as possible in the smallest details, there was even a jar with water in the room, cables for charging, notes with some directions to help us and plus breakfast. The place is sparkling clean and the room was really cozy, buses just around the corner. I really appreciate all the kindness. The best place and highly recommended! :)

Very nice neighborhood, great house, cozy bed and a lot of little notes explaining everything you might need to know. Elliot and Emma are really friendly and I felt home! There’s a bunch of bus stops nearby and the bus system is very easy to use. I recomend for sure!

Perfect and warm welcome. Super comfortable and clean room. Terry took care to find us a hearty breakfast ready very early despite it being January 1st! Terry's house is located about 20 minutes by bus 31 from the city center, very efficient service at all times. The stop is a few minutes walk from the house.

Excellent AirBnb experience! I was supposed to stay for a month and ended up extending my booking to two months. It's a really nice and new flat, where you get your own private bedroom and bathroom. You will be sharing the living room and kitchen with the friendly couple that hosts you: Jamie and Justyna. There is a bus stop literally in front of the flat's entrance that will take to Edinburgh city centre every 20-30 minutes. The ride will take around 40 minutes and cost 1.70 pounds the single ticket. Everything you see in the pictures is what you'll get since they show the actual state of the house which is new. Thanks for everything!

Staying at Jamie and Justyna's was lovely. They have a comfortable, tidy and clean home. Conveniently located next to a bus stop that brings you straight into Edinburgh city. I felt very welcome and comfortable from the first night! Would highly recommend!!

Sharon is a very warm person. We found the address easily. We stayed from Friday night to Monday morning. His house is clean and well kept. The room is upstairs, nice, with several electrical outlets. The bed very comfortable. The bathroom is not very big, with bath and toilet, all very clean and clear. We could use the kitchen if needed. We even tasted the garden salad. Sharon has a dog, we did not hear him barking once. The bus stop is not far from home. We will come back with pleasure if the opportunity arises. We recommend Sharon as host. Danielle and Jean André

The spring cottage is lovely and very comfortable. We found a really clean house, equipped with all the essentials. It's perfect for four people, but remember that the two beds are queen sized. Location-wise it takes around 5 minutes to the bus stop that will take you to the city centre in 30 minutes. There's also a supermarket near the bus stop. Irene responds quickly, she helped and guided us through our many questions and demands even if we never had the chance to meet each other.

Spring Cottage was ideal for our visit to Bonnyrigg - a clean, well-maintained and equipped property in a great location. Quiet and well situated. We had received a very warm welcome on our arrival at Coleen’s place. Throughout our stay Coleen has been a fantastic host responding quickly to all our queries. The house is very spacious with all amenities you may require and a lovely garden at the back if you need to relax a bit. Location is great, right in the Bonnyrigg town centre and a short drive/bus ride from Edinburgh. All in all, a great experience.

This was our second visit to Edinburgh, and Coleen’s place has been a perfect stay. A very large accommodation, with everything you would expect from your own home: a vast living room, a spacious kitchen with a 6 seats table overlooking a cozy and well-maintained garden, two separate double-bed-rooms, and a modern bathroom. In contrast with most Airbnb places, Coleen’s one provides also a dish-washing machine, a washing machine, a completely furnished kitchen, TV with Netflix, Sky, a large (100+) selection of DVDs, and even a PlayStation for kids (and grown-ups). As most options in Edinburgh, the location is not very central, but is conveniently located two minutes walk from the bus stop: there you can jump on the bus (line 31) and enjoy an eye-catching half hour drive towards Princes street on a tourist-friendly double decker.

The house is really nice and big, deco is warm. The place is perfect to be next to Edimbourg.

To get the address on the GPS, do not follow the directions on the page in google maps because they take you to a cross street. Coleen has been pending and available and has left us very clear and useful instructions for our stay. The accommodation is as described on the page. It is very well located to go to Edinburgh by bus. We have been very well.

This place is a little gem. Wait, no: this place is a piece of queen Elizabeth’s jewelry collection herself. What a wonderful place to stay. The garden, the breakfast, the romantic and nicely decorated house... But especially the hosts Jon and Jenny made our stay absolutely unforgetable. They are kind, happy, intelligent and very funny people. Love them.

Jenny & Jon made us feel very welcome in their beautiful, cosy cottage. They have a lovely home and we really enjoyed our stay. Room was very comfortable with a big window and everything you could need including tea & coffee. Continental breakfast very generous with breads, spreads, fruits and fresh coffee. Even provided eggs to cook as you please and it was so nice to sit and eat whilst looking out at the garden. Would definitely visit again.

Marina was a lovely host and her studio was a clean, convenient, and cozy place to for us to stay while exploring Edinburgh and Eskbank. Would highly recommend this special place.

We stayed at Marina's studio for three nights whilst visiting Edinburgh and the surrounding area and it proved to be ideal for our needs. The space is comfortable, stylish and clean, and the kitchen area is well equipped for preparing meals. The separate bedroom and spacious shower room are beautifully presented, too. Check in and access is straightforward and communication with Marina was always prompt and friendly. We enjoyed a walk in the country park and a lovely meal at the Paper Mill in nearby Lasswade. Eskbank train station, with its frequent services to Edinburgh, is a short walk away. I would be very happy to recommend Marina's studio to anyone, and would certainly consider returning again if looking to stay in this area.

Marina house is just to die for. The garden is pretty spectacular too. Marina took care to make sure every aspect of my stay was comfortable and put extra effort into details like leaving with fresh berries to put on top of my breakfast as well as a vast array of choices of spreads and jams for my toast. You feel like your part of a family home but still are left alone to do what you want. There was even an electric blanket in case I got cold. I would return in an instant. Highly recommended.

A small dessert with tea and coffee in a corner of the room was waiting for the next day. Everything was perfectly clean. Bathroom with shower and toilet. Parking in front of the house. Lovely stay. Close to the bus into the city and nice to get out of the city too. Quick replies, nice place, very modern bathroom and beautiful view. We appreciated the tea, coffee, and snacks too. We got tips for where to eat locally (the Laird and Dog were too busy so we went to Luci’s and the staff were all super lovely).

This is a wonderful place in a wonderful location. The flat sleeps five comfortable with one single and two double beds. There is also a sofa set that could comfortably sleep one or two separately if people didn't want to share the double beds. There is nice privacy upstairs to allow two very separate sleeping quarters from the room downstairs. The kitchen is small but functional with a working stove, oven, microwave, and fridge. My host also provided some nice amenities in the fridge and pantry with milk, tea, coffee, butter, bread, cereals, etc. It was a very nice and generous surprise. The location is wonderful as it's right on the busline in downtown Dalkeith and a very short walking distance to several restaurants, including three takeout places that are open late. Two small negatives- the stairwell is a bit steep to go up to the flat entrance and then once in the flat to go from the main floor to upstairs you have to traverse a fairly steep and tight staircase. It can be a bit of a challenge to lug heavy suitcases up these stairs but once you do that it is not so challenging to walk it as long as you go slow. The other slight negative is that my stay included Friday and Saturday nights and there was a LOT of activity down on the street across from the flat where the pubs and taverns stay open quite late. Although it was quite fun to hear the excitement going on, as a light sleeper this made things a bit challenging for me at times. Elaine was wonderful and took good care of me! Overall, I couldn't have been happier. I will definitely be back.

Lovely quiet place and attractive setting, huge room and en suite facilities, spotlessly clean, separate entrance to accomodation. Handy for local amenities, attractions and transport routes into Edinburgh and elsewhere.

A very comfortable room and a fantastic bed and shower/bath. If you think of this as a quiet, spacious hotel room you wont be disappointed. The grounds themselves feel like you're in the middle of a park, with a small shop and places to eat between 5-15 minutes walk away (information provided by Nicola on arrival). All in all this is a great place to stay to both explore the surrounding areas (Dalkeith Country Park!), or as a base for City activities. Would very much recommend, we definitely enjoyed our short stay there.

This flat had everything we needed and was well-equipped. Veronica was a very helpful host who dealt with a small issue which we had very promptly.

This was our best Airbnb experience yet. The only downside was that the house was a little far from central Edinburgh (30-45min if you take the direct bus, number 33 or 49), however the bus stop is right outside and there is a Morrison’s and Dalkeith City Centre a 5min walk away. Except that, the house was excellent. The couch and beds were comfortable, all amenities were available, the house was sparkling clean on arrival, and everything was easy to operate (eg. the heating system, washing machine, gas stove etc). Value for money. Would absolutely recommend to those visiting Edinburgh!

Everything we were hoping for was found in this 2-bedroom townhouse -- a quiet location with an easy commute on the bus to the city centre, shops just up the street, easy to drive to and park, and comfortable accommodation with a good quality double bed and a couch for relaxing before bed. Also, the communication was effective and getting inside was no trouble. I recommend this Airbnb.

Mellville castle exceeded our expectations with your wonderful staff, and your attention to detail. You, Tammy and John made us feel like we were coming home every time we returned from an outing. You always had a smile on your face, none of you ever made us feel like we were asking for too much. You and the staff were personable, kind, helpful and always went above and beyond. I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone as it made our stay in Scotland one of the best vacations I have ever had.

Beautiful place with lovely staff

This is a great place for a visit to Edinburgh. The bus takes only 30 minutes into the city so no reason to bring the car into the city

Angela and Derrick are absolutely fantastic hosts. Their house is very nice and even includes a conservatory. The house and room are sparkling clean, well kept and all amenities are provided. The room even has a large tv with a wide variety of channels. The place is situated right next to the beautiful dalkeith country park, with direct bus lines into Edinburgh town centre just a short walk away. Angela and Derrick are very friendly hosts and I would highly recommend their place.

Highly recommend this gorgeous space. Perfect sized stylish room, great hosts, not too far from Edinburgh (but just far away enough); what more could you want?! I loved my time here!
