Cute home just a 5 min walk from the centre of the beautiful township of Esk Same street as the weekend Saturday markets and if you like a beer and don’t want to walk home the local pub will even give you a lift! I’m a dog lover and have two spaniels that are extremely well behaved. If you have a dog that is too - I’m sure he/she would be welcome to come play. Property has just under. 1/4 acre with plenty of free space to roam
Guests have their own bedroom with Kingsize bed, tv, coffee machine and wardrobe Guests are welcome to use the main lounge area and the back deck which has two recliners overlooking Glen Rock in Esk Kitchen is available for use with dishwasher etc.
Esk has a varied array of cute shops, two pubs and bakeries and coffee shops etc There is always something happening in town and the 2 local pubs tend to have live music each weekend Access to Wivenhoe Dam is approx 12 km from town (Hamon Cove) and also Somerset dam is approx 27km

  • Lovely stay at Phil’s, room was beautifully decorated and air-conditioned, Phil was such an accomodating host and had gone the extra mile to make our stay wonderful in the little township of Esk. Will definitely be back when we need to return to Esk.

  • We were Phil’s first air bnb guests! It’s safe to say he is a natural at hosting and the home definitely outdid our expectations :) Phil kindly called ahead at the pub for us to check that they were open and sent us the menu! He also owns the most comfortable bedding which was an absolute dream after a long day on the rail trail! Cutest 3 dogs just to add to it all :)

  • Michele is the perfect host, she made us feel so very welcome, checking in was easy & questions I asked before arrival was met with a quick & helpful response. Loved the quad bike, cattle & chooks. They have a very comfortable bed in the cottage which we really appreciated as well. We found it very peaceful & relaxing the views are lovely

  • Nice, quiet spot. Very good value and great hospitality. Would recommend 5/5. Nice place to escape the busy towns and city.

  • Another peaceful stay in Carmic Cottage, so convenient for visiting Esk and the surrounding region. Outstanding hospitality. Thank you again, ladies!

    Steve2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We are an elderly couple who chose to stay at “Carmic” cottage while attending a family wedding at Somerset Dam. This venue was ideal for us. It was easy to find, following Michele’s directions, and had easy access, with only a couple of steps to negotiate. The cottage is vintage, but well maintained and was very comfortable even in the very dry, hot, windy weather we had while there. We were indeed blessed with exceptional hospitality, rain water (worth more than gold), bacon and eggs from the family of chooks and all other essentials in the fridge. It was not easy staying at “Carmic” though, as we experienced, first-hand, how devastating this drought and bush fire season is for those on the land, trying to just keep themselves and their stock alive. We would encourage anyone who can, to book a country cottage, especially “Carmic”, to escape the urban bubble, experience the dust and dry conditions (that are unbelievable, really), encourage those who are the victims and heroes and put some money into their pockets.

We are positioned in the Lockyer Valley where the scenery is magnificent! The downstairs of our house is self contained and has a private entrance. The space is quite large and can easily accommodate 6 people. Extra people up to 12 at $10 pp/pn. It has 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom. All windows and doors have security screens. You are welcome to meet and interact with all the animals. Long or short stays are fine. We all can’t wait to hear from you. All backgrounds will be made welcome.
Our place is a newly renovated and lifted Queenslander. The real deal as the house is over 50 years old and has all the charm that only this kind of local house can provide! The downstairs of our house is all yours and is fully self contained and has 2 private entrances. We have given it a relaxing, beach decor that will destress you as soon as you arrive. It has 2 bedrooms that both have security screens on all doors and windows, so they can be left open to get that afternoon breeze. While there is a tv, unfortunately there is no aerial connection so we have provided a DVD player and lots of dvds. There are many of your favourite board games, cards and poker chips and a PlayStation 2 with over 100 games to choose from! We are on Vodaphone and it works well here for reception, we also provide WIFI so your phones and iPads won’t have any problems and you can watch tv on demand. This is for browsing only and NOT for downloading. There are also security cameras that monitor and record the outdoor, farm area so all cars and possessions are kept safe at all times. We have gone over and beyond to provide you with a wonderful place to stay with so many extras that it’s hard to mention them all. Breakfast is provided for you to cook with fresh eggs, bread, milk, spaghetti, baked beans and lots of different coffee and teas. Our aim is for you to be surprised at all the extra touches and worry about nothing but relaxing and enjoying your well deserved time off. You are welcome to meet and greet with all the animals as most of them are rescues and have come to our farm to have rehabilitation or to finally get their forever home. All are friendly but children do need to be supervised for their own safety when interacting with them. Please know that your stay with us benefits them all! There is a large, fenced, outdoor entertainment area of your own to use the bbq, Dart board, hammock, large table and chairs, a fire pit and there’s also your own clothesline and clothes horse in case it’s raining. People traveling with animals or livestock are certainly welcome as we can accommodate all fur friends in paddocks, yards and small enclosures. As we have a long driveway, There is no problem with cars with trailers, boats or caravans of any size, trucks ( including carrying livestock) and RVs. Camping is also fine on our property if you would prefer the more basic approach to your stay. You can set up your own tent or we have some available for your convenience. This can also help if you need your teenager to have some extra space as tents can be set up close to the house. Please discuss this option, if needed, when booking. Long or short stays are fine. We all can’t wait to hear from you. All backgrounds will be made welcome, like we would our own family.
All rural and farms surrounding. Did you know that a lot of the produce that graces the plates of Australian dinner tables are grown in this area. Atkinson dam is 5kms away. Tarampa and Lowood are only 15 mins. Fernvale and Gatton are 20 km and a great run for supplies. All these suburbs have wonderful taverns where you can get a lovely pub meal every night of the week for a very affordable price. Atkinson dam is only 5 mins away while Clarendon and Wivenhoe are a short drive. The information centre in Gatton has a car, truck and art museum, an old village of restoration buildings from around the area, and a great cafe. They also can provide you with any free handouts of destinations around here. There is a massive, public swimming pool there at Gatton as well if you need a quick dip (closed in July for maintenance). There is a rock and roll cafe 20 mins from there and lots of morning and afternoon tea venues if you want to take a nice drive in any direction. There are wineries, cheese and olive farms everywhere out here. You can continue up the range to Toowoomba and check out some lookouts and have lunch at the golf club that have great specials on top quality food like oysters. If you drive the other way you can explore Mt Crosby and Mt Glorious which are more of a rain forest setting. Come back and stop at Fernvale for the Wivenhoe dam which supplies all of the water to Brisbane. They have a famous bakery there that has won many awards for there selection of over 100 pies and we have the greatest markets around the area on weekends. As mentioned beforehand, All the pubs around us serve great counter meals at country prices. The Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast are only 2 hours away if you want to spend a day at the most beautiful beaches in Australia. There are travel brochures in your airb&b space for you to make more plans if needed. Hope this is helpful. Thanks Michaela and Linda

  • Margie and her amazing house was the perfect retreat during our adventures in Esk and Toogoolawah. My son and I loved the atmosphere that was presented within the house and its surrounds, with daily chats on the back deck around the fire, and feeding the horses each day. Waking up to see an abundance of wallabies, and hearing the birds was so beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again in the future.’

All the conveniences of home in our little cottage! Our private home has 2 bedrooms + kids bunk room with expansive views over Somerset Lake and only a 2 mins drive to Kirkleigh boat ramps. This is a brilliant way to holiday with the family if you love water sports, attending a wedding at one of the great local venues or simply want a relaxing break!
You’ll be sharing the property (but not the house!) with the non-humans who live on site. Our alpacas Coffee and Cake, and the 5 chooks who will reward you with eggs in exchange for your food scraps.
The local campground (2km away) has mini-golf and a convenience store if you run out of milk or bread. Coronation Hall, a popular wedding venue is located 5km south of our home near the dam wall. Another popular wedding venue is Somerset Sunset which is about 5km north, towards Kilcoy. There is an IGA at Kilcoy about 7km away and if passing Yowie Park, a coffee from the Yowie Coffee cart is a must!
  • For a great get away, this is your great place with great Hosts. We go there every year for 3 years now and will continue to go there.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views of the dam from this property on the hill are fabulous. Trish and David have added lots of lovely homely touches. We were very comfortable in the heat of summer with the giant deck umbrella and good air con. Their house had everything we needed. The bunk room was super comfy to hang out in and the playground was enjoyed. My 3 yo son loved collecting eggs each morning and feeding the chickens vege scraps and tucking them in at night. The property is only moments from the boat ramp.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Leanne and Steve’s place. They communicated rapidly and helpfully and made us feel right at home when we arrived. The flat is as described with all home amenities from tea towels to hair dryer, shampoo, salt and pepper provided. The bar heater warms up the whole flat and the bed was warm and comfortable. WiFi is patchy as described by the owners, but we knew that because they had made it clear, so it wasn’t a problem. The sunsets and starry sky out here are spectacular, and Leanne and Steve shared some garden produce and country stories with us and even took us for a little drive around the property which we appreciated. We had a great time in a very nice clean little house, staying for two nights and thoroughly enjoying it. If you’re looking to stay in the area to explore the rail trail, Somerset Dam, or any one of the number of festivals in the area, this is a great place to be.

Someone once said, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, not true. An old outbuilding transformed into our 'Rosian Cottage. Set away from our 100 year old Queenslander, this has its own character and a ambience with small deck to enjoy the sunsets nibbling canapes and sipping a glass of vino or a cold beer. Everyone who has visited, sees the Wow factor in this cottage. The outside a like rustic as you might expect from an old rural out building in the country. PETS. Refer manual.

The bed is divinely comfortable and you will sleep so well on this quiet, peaceful property. The ensuite bathroom is probably the best we've ever seen anywhere....sleek, modern and very, very spacious. Edith the host is the kindest, most genuine lady who helped us with every thing we needed for our stay and fed us SO much food for breakfast. You have our highest recommendation to choose this property for your stay in Esk.

This Somerset cottage is a perfect mix between homely and quirky with huge open living spaces you'll feel connected with each other as you enjoy cooking, eating and reminiscing about your day at the Dam. With 4 bedrooms, 2 dining spaces, an outdoor fireplace and lots of things to keep the kids busy it's a perfect spot for friends and families alike. Split system air conditioning in the main living space and the master will ensure you have a comfortable stay any time of the year!
During your stay, you'll have access to the majority of the house, except the shed where we still store things for our personal time up here. There are no doors in the house (except for the front and back) with curtains for each of the bedrooms. This still gives each room privacy, but allows for free-flowing breezes all day long! There is space in the driveway for 2 cars or a car and a trailer, there's also available street parking at the front of the property. When entertaining on the deck/patio, you'll feel connected to nature with uninterrupted views to state forest mountains and privacy from each of the neighbours with high fences. Sleeping arrangements and beds available can be seen in our listing, there are 4 bedrooms with 8 people able to sleep in the beds. All other sleeping arrangements are on sofas or mattresses on the floor.
The cottage is location is the Somerset Dam village. 2 min to the coronation hall, perfect for any weddings etc. At such close distance to somerset dam (5min drive), it's the perfect location for a weekend away with your boat or jetski. There's the general store just down the road which sells fuel, coffee, bread etc. but for anything more we suggest the short trip to Kilcoy which is an approximate 30min drive.
  • Great amenities, beautiful location and amazing welcome basket of treats upon arrival!!

    Chelsea2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house was wonderful so very close to Somerset Dam. Very clean home, large kitchen, comfortable lounge with hundreds of DVD movies, board games and books. Lots of extra blankets, towels and everything needed for a great stay. Will definitely stay again. Excellent communication prior to stay. Thanks so much.

    Lincoln2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spacious property that offers personal touches that make you feel welcome and relaxed. The property is clean with lots to offer. The outdoor area is lovely for relaxing and chatting at the end of the day. The yard is not huge, but is entertaining, loved the unique items around. And the dam is nor far away. There is a local shop within walking distance that offers your basics and easy dinner or lunch with nicely cooked hot chips. A walk around the neighborhood shows off cockatoos and even a peacock. We had a wonderful and relaxing christmas family get together. Thank you.

    Amy2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to relax after a day at the dam with friends or family, the house was super clean. And there are lots of extra little things for you to keep anyone entertained. Sitting out on the deck with a cold drink was great

  • A tidy little cottage with all necessary amenities to make for a comfortable stay. The small space made for a very cosy environment and had served as a perfect getaway from city life and everyday responsibilities. The deck was great for enjoying fresh air and the sights/sounds of numerous birds.

    Jerome2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so special. A window in time to let go of responsibilities and the noise of life. Sat on the porch with my love, a bottle of bubbles and a beer and talked of nothing of any consequence. Visit and drop out of life for a while...just the best x

    Shannyn2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for a quiet weekend getaway.. Sue left lots of little touches for your dog.. This cabin has everything you need.. We made use of the wood fire pizza oven which made for a fun evening.. Great for couples looking for some R&R.. Loved our stay here.

    Maree2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Communication was easy with Sue, and she made an effort to message ideas for the time we were in town. The studio room is beautifully made up, it felt cozy with luxury details, and generously catered. The weather was rainy for the last part of our stay, but camping in the cottage, listening to the birds and enjoying the scenery with wine and a BBQ dinner on the balcony, was a pleasure. It was our first time in the area and now it’s on our favourites. We will definitely be back, and raving to our family and friends. Thank you Sue and Jonathan for making our stay at your cottage so memorable.

    Nicole2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I was surprised how small the cottage was when I first walked in, but it has everything you need for a really peaceful, comfortable, relaxing time away. There's a really good walk nearby but other than that it's all about listening to the birds and feeling the breeze :)

    Kali2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for a couple of days. We stayed while going to the garden festival in Toowoomba. A nice comfortable drive in and a comfortable place t stay. Would happily go back again

    Dick2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Well, I don't want to say too much for the fear that Sue's place might be booked out forever! It is a thoughtful escape to the country. It is very private and so quaint. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, with no neighbours or noise other than birds this is it. There are so many thoughtful touches such as a shawl to sit on the balcony at night, and a fireplace set to light with just a match. The local restaurant selection is slim but amaaazing! Emeraude is a small award-winning restaurant for very good reasons. We loved it all. I wish everyone as good a weekend as we had at Sue's place.

    Colin2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a unique place to stay, Linda’s place is for you. It was a little out of town but you can’t stay at an airfield in town! The accommodation was very comfortable and to stand on the balcony and see a plane come and go was a great experience. The night sky was outstanding away from the lights of town. There is a large flight of stairs to get to the accomodation but there’s no porter to take your large suitcase up there, but the space upstairs is wonderful and well appointed. It has single bed accommodation but 2 beds to a room. Linda is a wonderful host and it’s a great place to stay.

  • We arrived to a lovely warm house and heated outdoor spa ready for us. This is a lovely, cosy and clean space with plenty of room and everything you need- linen, towels, bathroom stuff, meal prep etc all great! It is also single story and is very accessible for people who need. There is a restaurant walking distance away. The nearby residents are quiet and kept to themselves. If you’re in need of a relaxing time with a view this is the place for you. Thanks to Rob for the tips!

    Kate2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views (especially if you're lucky enough to stay during a full moon). Local restaurants had great food and atmosphere. The house was very spacious and comfortable, a true home away from home feel. We'd stay every weekend if we could :)

Stay in a beautifully renovated old queenslander , a minute walk to the heart of town right opposite the new Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. A perfect stay for a family wanting to conquer the new rail trail all the way from Ipswich to Yarraman along the way a number of small country towns with enormous hospitality.
There are a number of tourist locations only a hands away from central toogoolawah. Australia zoo, Blackall Range , Somerset Dam with many more to explore.
There are a few cafe's in toogoolawah and esk, and some very good local pubs for meals and afternoon drinks.
  • A lovely and comfortable home-from-home. Myself and my young family enjoyed our stay very much. Perfect location for the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Also Tracey was quick to reply to any queries. Hoping to return.

  • A beautiful home, thank you !

    Meaghan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really terrific place, well positioned and very comfortable. The 3 bedrooms had plenty of room to sleep 2 couples plus a couple of singles. We stopped in there after a couple of tough days on the rail trails and were really impressed with the location, new finishes and very comfortable amenities. This place is really excellent. An oasis in a quaint and friendly country town. Highly recommended by our group. Well done Peter!

Walking distance to all local amenities including pubs and shops. You’ll love my place because of the location, the people, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples and families (with kids).
Nestled at the base of the mountains with a beautiful natural bush setting you can hear the birds singing whilst enjoying a Latte from your decking. This is after you have had the enjoyment of being in the temperature controlled pool or enjoyed the relaxation in the spa.
Being in a small community makes the stay at Esk more friendly and helpful. We have many local attractions and various 1/2 day to full day drives for all guests and we are happy to impart our local knowledge of where to go.

  • Our party of 5 adults had a wonderful stay at Silverwood Lodge. The house is beautiful, well equipped and spotlessly clean and the stunning surrounds, add to the peaceful and relaxed ambiance of Ravensbourne. Rob was an outstanding host, always quick to respond to any inquiries and when we, unfortunately had a medical issue, he and Annette went out of their way, assisting us to get help and showing their concern, which was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend a stay here..... thank you Rob & Annette.

  • Silverwood Lodge in Ravensbourne National Park was a great place to stay for our weekend away. The accommodation was lovely, clean, and comfortable, and the surrounding area very peaceful with excellent walks and picnic spots. We travelled with eight adult guests and this accommodation worked really well for us, although the two fold-up beds provided to accommodate the seventh and eighth members of our party might not be ideal for extended stays (but would be fine for children). But for the couple of nights we were there it was quite fine. Would definitely recommend this lovely property and part of Queensland to other travellers.

  • Rob is a great host. House is very clean and very well appointed. Beautiful location too.

  • We had a great time staying at Silverwood Lodge. We were a group of seven, and the accommodation gave us everything we wanted. The house had the perfect set up for our getaway. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything you would need. Rob was amazing with keeping us informed with all the information we would need, and he was quick at responding to us. The location was tranquil, and we left feeling more relaxed than ever. We would definitely stay at Silverwood Lodge again.

  • If you haven’t been here, you haven’t really lived. It feels like your in a dream when you enter the house, the serenity on the deck makes your turn to jelly. I was shocked at how stunning this property is when I entered. Ravensbourne will be the new “it” Place for us. Looking forward to bringing my family here soon. Thankyou Rob your for hospitality, it was like feeling like we were part of the family.

  • Mikayla and her family went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They prepared a special room for us, furnished it with care and fed us spectacular food. We cycled to their property so it was great to be greeted with snacks, wine and to be able to order from their delicious vegan menu. I am not vegan, but the food was hearty, tasting and satisfying. We were able to have a tour and meet the milk cows, the alpacas and the chickens. It was a delightful stay and I would recommend it to all cyclists on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.

  • My partner and I enjoyed a marvellous stay at the Verdigris. Mikayla was lovely, warm and very welcoming, and the complimentary bottles of wine we received was icing on the cake. The cabin was beautifully furnished, complete with modern bathroom and rainforest shower, and it had everything we needed. The best part of our stay was the gorgeous surroundings. All the views from this cabin are exquisite and there are several options for outdoor seating. There's a chiminea on the deck and a campfire in the yard so you can sit and enjoy the night sky. It was a joy waking up to our view of the lake, and being surrounded by the horses, kangaroos and beautiful birds. This place is a hidden gem!

  • What an amazing hidden gem!! We were looking for a quiet getaway and we certainly found it. The pictures do not do the cottage justice. It is a stunning large cottage which from the moment we walked in was everything we wished for and more. We can't thank Rob enough for being so helpful and always contactable. The little touches such as having the air conditioner on for our arrival made it an even more memorable weekend. If you are looking for a weekend away in absolute privacy, this is it.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and relaxing. The spa and fireplace was great. The restaurant/cafe located at the property had such a wonderful view and delicious food.

  • We loved our stay at Kookaburra Cottage. It’s a great peaceful spot to get away and is close to some lovely walks. Everything we needed was supplied and we especially appreciated the incredible bath, hotel standard beds and fully stocked woodpile, with the fire laid for us on arrival - would warmly recommend! Thank you!

  • A nice quiet place, far away from everything. A perfect getaway to clear your mind and refresh. The house was very spacious, check in was very simple and Rob was on call when we needed him. Not far away from the popular dams and mountains so that is definitely something to drive to when there.

  • Absolutely beautiful location - mists, cool breezes and stunning rainforest on the doorstep. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a switched off, but totally back to nature retreat. Don't forget the cafe - the service is great! Will be back.

  • Absolutely amazing place to stay and a beautiful cottage. Rob our host was very accommodating to our many requests and made our stay the best it could be. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the cottages to stay at especially for anyone looking for a shirt or long getaway.
