The Riverside cabin is a truly hand-built home, made with love from the woodland that surrounds it.. A rustic Cornish getaway, only 15 minutes from Falmouth. With the sound of the wind in the leaves, the tinkling water and the crackling fire to relax you. We hope you will have a wonderfully memorable time.
The Cabin is set in a lovely woodland garden, with a firepit for outdoor cooking, swings and a stream to paddle in. It is situated next to a stream and woodland, near a quiet country road with great access to creeks, cliffs and beaches of Cornwall
The Cabin is just off a rural road between the thriving seaside/ harbour town of Falmouth, and the creeks and fishing villages of the Beautiful Helford River and the Lizard peninsula.
  • Loved every minute of it. Super cute and cosy. Great location for exploring surrounding Cornish towns!

  • One of the most beautiful spaces I have been fortunate enough to spend time in, ever. The craftsmanship is exquisite and the love that ben has for wood is palpable. The communication was swift and straightforward. It is really a magical place. It is closer to a (v quiet) road than I expected but everything else (wood burner, swings, fairy lights etc) made up for it.

  • A magnificent experience! Very authentic and humble place with all the essentials and more. If you want something magical look no further! We loved every moment, specially the outside shower and waking up to birds singing and a steam flowing.

  • It was an absolutely amazing, well needed break away. It was peaceful and tranquil and we had a very relaxing time ( which is total opposite at home). The weather was crisp and cold but with some sun. I loved the swing and the fire pit and the outdoor shower was a great touch, something I never thought I would enjoy but I did... the photo album showing how it was built and all the other items Ben can build was a lovely touch. It was for my fiance 30th birthday. We have recommended to friends and we hope to stay again sometime soon. Thank you so much.

  • Highly recommended! Excellent stay!

  • Exquisite getaway in the wilds of Cornwall, this cabin is an absolute must stay. Complete with log burning stove, outdoor fire pit and composting loo, this is really one for the outdoorsy adventurer who still loves a bit of home comfort. Suitable for couples or families, and with lots to do in the area with some great local pubs, cafes and attractions. Short drive to Trebah gardens, helford passage and the seal sanctuary at gweek to name a few. A perfect weekend, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you Ben x

With aged oak and natural tones the barn welcomes your tired feet to a stress and city-free escape. On the route between Falmouth and the Helford River, it comfortably fits a couple with a child.
This south facing barn offers year-round accommodation with self catering facilities for those who prefer an independent break. It comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a child; with a large double bedroom and small single room. (The bedrooms are within the pitch of the roof and may not be comfortable for someone over 6'2".) The spacious open plan kitchen/lounge has solid oak flooring and modern cooking facilities with more than adequate space for evenings in. The paneled bathroom is fitted with a shower, WC and basin, with a stone tiled floor and underfloor heating. The utility is fitted with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Guests will be provided with hand and bath towels along with a welcome pack including the essentials needed for self catering. We're willing to provide advice, so please don't hesitate to ask us recommendations for activities or restaurants. We live next to the barn and will be present most of the time.
Pennance Mill is a rural hamlet on the road between Falmouth and Mawnan Smith, with country walks and beaches nearby. It's only a short bus journey or taxi trip into Falmouth, which would cost no more than a few pounds.
  • Wonderful location, combining both quiet privacy with the convenience of a nearby beach and easy access to Falmouth and more. Very clean, suitably equipped for preparing, cooking and eating in with both adequate dining and relaxing space in the kitchen/diner/lounge. Comfy bed, roomy bathroom.....Even our fussy dog made himself comfortable.

  • This cottage is lovely, really close to a small cove just outside of Falmouth. The host's where more than accommodating. There were plenty of toys for our daughter to play with which really helped when not on the beach. The cottage has really well sized rooms and perfect for a small family. it has great transport links and close to coastal walks too. N&K

  • Sharon’s place was perfect for our short work trip - being just down the road from where we needed to be. It was warm, welcoming and had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Sharon and hosts were not intrusive at all and left us to it which was great. We’d certainly try and book again if we are coming to the area again.

This stunning, three double-bedroom Finnish Lodge, nestles into the side of Carn Marth Hill, a World Heritage Site. From the huge triple glazed Cathedral windows there are far reaching views across the rural landscape of mid-Cornwall. Enjoy relaxing by the pool during the day and soaking in the hot tub by night!
The living room is flooded with light from the double height windows as is the mezzanine double bedroom. The wood burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere in the evenings or for winter visits. You will enjoy the hot tub looking out over the rural landscape. The property is well equipped for 6 people to enjoy a very comfortable stay.
We live on the side of Carn Marth Hill and you can walk directly from the house to the top of the hill where you will find a lovely little quarry lake where locals fish and occasionally swim. From here you can see both North and South coasts the walk on to explore more of the many footpaths and bridleways.
  • The Lodge is beaufitul, clean and has great views. The huge window fills the space with natural light and keeps it surprisingly warm! Caroline is very welcoming, we'd have felt very comfortable asking for help at any point if we'd needed it.

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to get away for a while. Caroline was lovely in assisting us from booking to checking out. I would certainly recommend this place and hopefully one day return for another stay.

    Muhammad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s place felt really special, we arrived a little early due to the rain and Caroline accommodated this with no notice. The alpacas made the place really unique, lovely that they are in the field next door to the property. And the hot tub was a big hit with everyone. And let’s not forget scones fresh from the oven with jam and lashings of clotted cream. Really convenient to get to lots of places as well. We stayed with our friends who have two little girls and an infant and there was plenty of room, two bathrooms definitely helps! I should also mention the property was cosier than I thought it would be even without the fire on. Great for a wet February half term!

    Gillian2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s house was lovely and we felt very welcome. From the cream tea with homemade scones on arrival to the luxurious hot tub to the cute and funny alpacas in the back garden, we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

  • A lovely lodge. Super hot tub. Lovely cream tea and the most comfy beds. A super place to stay.

    Deborah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful lodge set in a picturesque location. Caroline is a wonderful host, answering questions extremely promptly pre-arrival , then offering her assistance on arrival with her knowledge of the local area. The lodge is extremely well appointed & the hot tub is toasty toasty! Highly recommended!

    Emma2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely located, tucked out of the way about so nice and peaceful but close enough to East South and West coasts. Didn't explore too much as weather was being very British but what we did see were some nice walks and welcoming pubs. Cosy to stay in thanks to the log burner too. A really nice way to escape for a days.

    Alex2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • From arrival to departure a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Amazing cream tea supplied by the host enjoyed by the log burner whilst watching the llamas!

A stylishly furnished king-sized annex overlooking the garden with its own private entrance. The room is at the back of our Victorian townhouse and has its own ensuite shower room and a private parking space. It is located in central Falmouth close to the town centre, beaches, rail stations and some of the university campus buildings. It is ideal for couples, parents visiting their kids at university and business travellers. Please note there's no breakfast, only tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
The room and its ensuite are in an annex with its own private entrance through the garden. Guests are welcome to use the garden. Please note that there are no cooking facilities, but there is a small silent fridge. It is a quiet and comfortable space for a good nights sleep with its king-sized bed and blackout curtains. There is a private ensuite with walk in shower. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap and towels are provided. There is a 'storage corridor' with plenty of room to put suitcases etc and guests can hang clothes on hooks and hangers. There is a completely silent fridge, a DAB radio/bluetooth speaker next to the bed, and a desk to work at, or to sit and drink a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Please note that no breakfast is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own things to eat, or there are plenty of lovely cafes for breakfast in Falmouth close by.
The house is near the town centre, so there are a lot of great restaurants and some nice independent shops within easy walking distance, and a Tesco supermarket less than 5 mins walk into town. There are fab independent cafes called Espressini and Good Vibes Cafe close by which do great breakfasts and coffee, or there is a Wetherspoon pub/restaurant 2 mins walk into town which does a good full English breakfast for very little money. Or I can recommend Gylly Beach Cafe for breakfast - it is only 20 mins walk and literally on the beach!
  • Dominic and Stephanie were great hosts! The place was clean, warm and the bed mattress was great for a comfortable sleep. We had our privacy as they had promised in the description. • The chalet was very clean and tidy. Everything was spotless. Plenty of pots, pans, plates and cutlery etc. Its a very central location so plenty of places to visit in the immediate area. Great place to stay overall!

  • Great location, only 15 minutes drive to the Truro park and ride which only cost £1 each on Saturdays which made a great trip out. Good local places for food however If you are looking for a quite night in the kitchen is very well equipped and modern. I liked that the tap doubles up as filtered water. Abi was very welcoming and the response time with the hosts was very prompt and helped lots with recommendations of what to do. Good private parking on driveway and very private location. Also liked the private path to our chalet. Hope to Come again sometime and all the best with the future.

  • Abi’s place was extremely well equipped especially the kitchen - everything you’d need. Her hospitality was amazing and even left a bottle of prosecco as it was NYE. Would recommend unreservedly !

Many Adventure playground parks for kids only a short drive away. Cusgarne Organic farm and coffee shop walking distance just down the road.
  • Great little find, lovely location, very grateful for the homemade scones on arrival and all the little extras Monkia and her daughter provided. Great communication and patience, especially when we got lost in the dark! cant fault our stay, just wish it had been longer will certainly book again next year.

  • Spacious, clean and well equipped caravan in a fantastic peaceful rural location. Our hosts (Denzel and Monika) were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Kate showed us how everything worked, and her hand -illustrated notes on local places to visit were much appreciated and used by us. The caravan had everything we needed to self cater, amd the welcome cream tea was a lovely touch. The little garden area with seating was lovely. The paddock area had friendly horses and goats, and we were able to feed them from our garden. By the end of our stay we felt that we'd made friends- both human and animal! Highly recommended.

    Rich&Tracy2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Monika's Place is great, very comfortable and clean. It's right out in the countryside but not to far from Redruth and Truro, very peaceful and amazing hospitality (we had freshly baked scones and homemade jam on arrival). Highly recommended if you are visiting cornwall on holiday.

    Paul2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time here, with the kindest and most thoughtful hosts. The location is close to everything you’d need in terms of beaches, local towns, tourist attractions and even an organic farm shop, which is literally down the road. The caravan was very clean and well equipped and the hosts were always on hand if we needed anything, even offering to do our laundry for us. We can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely book again! Thank you so much for making our stay so lovely. :)

The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors' lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day are truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. You can enjoy these events on foot from this centrally located apartment. As a university town many events are arranged by the students including annual exhibitions of art and photographic work. This is a perfect apartment for parents wishing to visit their children as the bus to the University leaves regularly from the end of the road up to the Tremough campus. The beaches at Gyllingvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea! The perfect location if you like a coastal walk to the beach cafe or the convenience of the shops, bars & restaurants in Falmouth. Pipit apartment is clean and welcoming. There is everything there that you would need for a short stay. Facilities to cook and do laundry or after a long day sightseeing, just chill with a cuppa in front of the TV.

  • A perfect place from which to visit 2 outstanding National Trust properties, Tresillick and Glendurgan Gardens. Very close to Falmouth town centre (and you have parking) as well as the sea. Well appointed and spotlessly clean - the bed was really comfortable.

    Nick2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The space was sparking clean with great amenities. Very stylist and great location right by the sea! We had a really lovely stay and would come back again!

    Katy2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location , sparkling clean and comfortable facilities, lovely sea views and the option to use Falmouth Hotel facilities for dining or leisure, swimming pool etc.

    Juliet2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Richards flat was both comfy and clean, it was a great size - perfect for two. The flat is conjoined to The Falmouth Hotel, so felt very safe. It was less than a minutes walk to the sea front and was a fab spot for running. I'd recommend this very affordable little flat if you're coming down to Falmouth!

    Grace2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulously located, comfortable apartment within very easy reach of the seafront and the beautiful Garden Room bar and bistro at the Princess Pavilion.

    Mark2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, airy apartment in the grounds of the Falmouth hotel - literally two minutes’ walk to the seafront, and about 10 minutes into Falmouth town, which was perfect for us. The apartment was well-equipped for cooking, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our only slight issue would be that we sometimes had some noise from the nearby catering part of the hotel in the morning (however, we are quite late risers, so for people waking up at a more normal time, this probably wouldn’t be such an issue!). It was a lovely place to stay, and we would be very happy to come back.

    Hannah2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Pipit is in a great location right across the road from the sea with views from the apartment. Town is only 10-15 minute walk away and as there was onsite parking so we could leave the car and walk into town. The apartment was clean with all the facility’s you need and the washing machine was a real bonus as we had been travelling for 2 months. It was good to have a lift too as the apartment is on the second floor, saving us having to get our bags up the stairs. Would happily stay here again.

Set within the grounds of the original Count House for the Basset mines (as featured on Poldark). Nestled on a world heritage site. North Coast beaches just 5 miles away. Cosy cottage in a tranquil location, overlooking Carn brea and views to the coast. Ideal as a base for exploring the rugged beauty of Cornwall whilst remaining a short drive away from the local town and shops.
Little Basset is a cosy cottage which has its own fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with its own closet space, and bathroom in which there is a shower.
Little Basset is located on private grounds on the outskirts of Carnkie. Carnkie is a peaceful, friendly village in the heart of the old mining community. There is a pub a half a mile walk away and taxis are readily available, it is also a walking distance from Carn Brea castle which is a Jordanian restaurant; the castle itself can be traced back to 1379. The main thing Carnkie has to offer is the beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere!

  • This is a very cute, simple little cottage in a pretty amazing area. You can walk all the way up Carn Brea from the doorstep :) Not too easy to find (it is not the Carnkie in Helston!) but Alisa was very helpful with directions and quick to respond. Very quiet and solitary - a great little escape!

    Nicola2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very sweet, warm and cosy nest. It provides all that is needed and it is in a charming location among ruins of the mining past of the area. The coast is at about 20-30 minutes driving and it is stunning, also featuring St Ives. We had a great week and also enjoyed the amazing hospitality and kindness of Ailsa always ready to help and support us.

Bed and Breakfast at 'Portimao' is a special experience. You enjoy a complete self-contained annexe with separate entrance to your own bedroom, bathroom and sitting room complete with television, fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities.
  • John & Juliet are simply the most amazing hosts. They are attentive without being obtrusive or overbearing. They are also happy to help with information about the area without hesitation. The unit is thoughtfully stocked with many ‘nice to have’ extras. Anything from toiletries to teabags all ready for their guests. John is a magician with breakfast, especially the eggs. His scrambled eggs are just divine. Whether you are looking for a quiet weekend or an extended stay, this place should not be missed. You will not be disappointed. I already miss Portimao!

    Charlotte2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • All the good reviews we read were not exaggerated. John and Juliet are super attentive without being intrusive. They made us and our beagles feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfasts were so good! Too much for us so we requested bacon sandwiches. Best bacon sandwiches ever! Our girls loved playing with Marley and the field and surrounding woodland made exercising the girls easy. The terrace is lovely and also dog proof, I think it would really shine in the summer. Nice location for visiting local towns. We ate twice at the Norway Inn, lovely food and dog friendly too. Thanks for everything! x

    Sue2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a sweet little place! We had a great couple of days lazying in the sun in the flower-filled patio, cuddling on the sofa in the softest robes and having a peaceful night's sleep in the comfy bed. The breakfast was tasty and the hosts super kind and helpful - recommend!!

    Daphna2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • John and Juliet were very welcoming. We had the whole apartment to ourselves and ALSO a delicious full English breakfast (all locally sourced) which was brought to us to eat in our own private dining space.

    Rosie2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, communication when booking this property was very fast. They gave us a wonderful welcome, and asked us our preferences for a locally sourced home cooked breakfast. We then explored the wood behind which was beautiful with our dog. The place is perfectly located for Truro, they included a lovely kitchen set up and bedroom with a super clean on-suite. The sheets were of top quality, better than most hotels. Colours were very peaceful. And the dvd collection with coffee machine kept us well entertained. They also included many local restaurant and pub options. They were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome in their home. We will for sure stay again.

They suggested some great nearby restaurants. The one we went to had amazing history and delicious food, well worth the 15-20 minute drive. Great place to stay and charming hosts.

Located on a private lane with private parking and access through a tiered garden, The Pound is a two bedroom (connected rooms) L-shaped flat. The front door leads into the lounge with bedrooms to the right. From the left a step takes you into the kitchen with the bathroom on the left.
‘The Pound’ is a quirky two bedroom (connecting rooms) log cabin flat. It also has a lounge, kitchen and bathroom and is accessed via a zig zag path leading up from a designated parking area. When we bought the house 6 years ago, The Pound was a dog grooming parlour, hence the name, which was in a very bad state. We renovated it for two of our sons to live in and a few years on, and both sons having moved out, it is now surplus to our requirements, so have decided to rent it out for you to stay in to enjoy the Cornish experience. We have tried to think of everything you would need during your stay to make it a home from home holiday. At the front of the property there is a storage box which houses recycling bags and where your bagged rubbish can be stored for collection on a Thursday evening. As we are close to the A30, which can be seen from the front of the property, there is traffic noise outside but not within the accommodation. There is a table and 4 chairs on the patio at the front of the property but as the property is surrounded by large trees there is only direct sunlight in the morning. To the left side of The Pound there is a small gate which gives access to our garden which you are more than welcome to use on sunnier days and meet our friendly Labrador, Jago. Located between Illogan, Portreath and Redruth there is easy access by road to each. Jenn's Diner is a family-run American style diner a one minute walk away. The Track is a five acre cycle facility based near Portreath and is less than 1 mile away. The Track is suitable for ALL types of mountain bikes, E-Bikes, BMX bikes and balance bikes and all ages and abilities. Kernow Hydro pool is also situated on this site. The Cornish mining town of Redruth town is a 10 minute walk away and there is easy access to all surrounding towns and villages via the public bus and train system. Redruth is home to a variety of exceptional pasty shops, individual shops, cafes, cinema/theatre and boasts the home of the famous William Murdoch, the first man to invent domestic gaslighting. His house can be visited and his invention is celebrated with Murdoch Day every year during mid June with an exciting programme of events including children’s dance and art procession, all day music and entertainment, a street market, old time fair exhibitions and a variety of live concerts and other events around the town. Redruth also hosts an annual Pasty & Mining Festival each September. The event is focussed around the town centre. The Friday is Mining Day, the Saturday is Pasty Day and the Sunday is Memorial & Fun Day. Activities on Pasty Day include cookery demonstrations and ‘make your own pasty’. Portreath is the closest beach, being only 3 miles away. With Porthtowan, Gwithian, Hayle, St Ives, St Agnes and Perranporth all a stones’ through away on the north Cornish coast. Each beach is unique boasting beautiful golden sand, cliffs and rocks with miles of coastal paths ready to be discovered with The Pound being a great location for you to relax after any expedition, however being close to the A30 there is traffic noise in the garden, but not inside the accommodation. Overlooking both Camborne and Redruth and reaching up to 738 feet above sea level is Carn Brea which is 1.8 miles away. The Carn can be seen from most high ground in Cornwall and the monument on top easily picked out. Conversely the view from the top of the Carn takes in both coasts and a good deal of the Camborne/Redruth conurbation. What is not apparent from any distance is the size of the monument, with it being a 90 foot high granite obelisk. The huge hexagonal column was erected in 1836 in memory of Francis Bassett, Lord de Dunstaville. The Bassetts where the most important mining family in the area and had lived in Tehidy for over 700 years (Tehidy is now the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall. Now managed as a Country Park, Tehidy has over 9 miles (14.5km) of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods and lakes to explore, together with a café and a picnic area. Francis Bassett was however the first to be elevated to the nobility due to his efforts to raise an army of miners to defend the port of Plymouth from the combined Spanish and French fleets. Another legacy of the Bassett family is Carn Brea Castle. It is suggested that it started out as an Elizabethan hunting lodge, was a Victorian folly and is now a restaurant. Carn Brea also has associations with the legendary giants of Cornwall. It is said to be the home of the giant Bolster who when standing could put his other foot on top of St Agnes Beacon over 10 miles away! Cornwall's capital city Truro is 11 miles away. Truro Cathedral is located in the centre of this thriving Cornish city and wonderfully situated in the middle of the duchy of Cornwall. Designed by architect John Loughborough Pearson, it is one of only three cathedrals in the UK which has three spires. Completed in 1910 it is a magnificent example of gothic revival architecture. A must-see place to visit in Cornwall with free entry. The Bissoe Cycle Path is a coast to coast trail that links Portreath harbour 11 miles across the county to the port of Devoran on the South coast. In the 1800s, this trail was used as a mineral tramway for the copper mines around Redruth. The Eden Project (Cornish: Edenva) is a popular visitor attraction in Cornwall. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed china clay pit and is 33 miles away. The Minack is a unique theatre perched on the cliffs high above the Atlantic ocean where they hold musicals and operas every summer, together with music, comedy and story-telling events. The Minack is 27 miles away. St Michaels Mount is 17 miles away. St Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall. The island is a civil parish and is linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway of granite setts, passable between mid-tide and low water. It is managed by the National Trust, and the castle and chapel have been the home of the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650. St Ives is classed as the dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown. A picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town and listed as one of TripAdvisor’s top 10 European beaches. Here you can wander through the maze of narrow cobbled streets, independent shops and fisherman’s cottages and only 17 miles away.

  • Teri is a super kind and generous hostess (we never ended up meeting Andrew). Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to extend our stay from 2-3 weeks and Teri was very flexible and understanding. Very spacious comfortable flat, with all the 'mod cons', beautiful peaceful location, and great pub lunches/dinners very nearby! (Can highly recommend The Roseland Inn and the Plume of Feathers in Portscatho, the latter being open all day.)

  • Ardevora Mill Cottages are a little piece of paradise in a stunningly beautiful area, a home away from home. Our one bedroom Vean cottage was just perfect - spacious, comfortable and beautifully presented. It had everything we could possibly have wanted and more. There was even a delicious afternoon tea of scones, jam and clotted cream when we arrived. We stayed for 6 days but wish we stayed longer.

  • Our stay at 'The Chalet' was amazing and faultless! The property itself is finished to a high-standard with everything you could possibly need during your stay, included. The location was perfectly suited for us, allowing us to venture out to every corner of Cornwall at some point during our stay, with ease. Andy and Eileen were brilliant hosts and made our stay even better. We arrived to fresh eggs from their hens, a lovely home-baked cake and homemade jam, and milk for us to enjoy a cup of tea after our long journey. These finer touches really do make a big difference! They were on hand to offer some great tips on the area, and the super-friendly dogs were around for a quick game of fetch and a tummy rub. We would highly recommend 'The Chalet' to anyone looking to visit Cornwall, and we will certainly look to stay again when we next venture to Cornwall!

    Alistair2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful week at the chalet. Andy and Eileen are exceptional hosts and made us feel very welcome, on arrival we were greeted with a delicious home made cake, jam, milk and eggs from their chickens. The chalet is in the perfect location to explore Cornwall, it’s well appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The highlight for our 8 year old daughter (and us!) was Andy and Eileen’s three gorgeous dogs. Andy was kind enough to let us join their morning walks, and my daughter helped put the chickens and geese to bed. I would highly recommend a stay here, thank you Andy and Eileen, we will be back!

    Amanda2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was brilliant and faultless. The chalet was spotless and had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The extra touches on arrival (cake, eggs etc) were also lovely. The location was perfect for exploring and the setting idyllic. We loved sitting outside in the garden, seeing the dogs and chatting to the hosts who made our stay extra special. We were welcomed and treated like old friends and that type of touch is what makes a holiday memorable. Thanks, Andy & Eileen for everything.

  • We had an amazing week at the Chalet with Andy and Eileen. They made us welcome from the moment we arrived. The accommodation is superb and location is fab for family days out. The dogs were a massive hit with the kids and they enjoyed taking them on walks with Andy and Eileen. I cannot recommend this place and enough and we can’t wait to visit again next year! X

  • We spent a very pleasant week at the chalet The accommodation is very nice and very well equipped. There is the possibility of eating in the garden. It is very quiet and close enough to all amenities. Andy and Eileen are very friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival we found a very good homemade cake, jam, milk and eggs from their hens. They advised us to visit the area and taste the local specialties. They have 3 very well educated dogs and players with children. It is possible to walk on foot from the chalet.

    Patrick2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We have just spent a wonderful 2 weeks at 'The Chalet' and Andy & Eileen are fantastic hosts and made us feel extremely welcome from day one. The Chalet is sparkly clean and fully equipped with everything you would need for your stay. There are lovely walks and cycle routes around the area and it is set in a great location to explore this part of Cornwall. We thoroughly enjoyed all the extra touches including the delicious homemade cake, eggs and jam. Our children loved spending time with their adorable dogs, chickens and geese and were very sad to be leaving on our last day. We would highly recommend this AirBnB to rent.

St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer. St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Hotel Tresanton) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butcher, baker and art & clothes shops. The village also has both a doctor’s and a dentist’s surgery. Events on the Roseland reach fever point in August when sailing regattas, carnivals, fayres and fun days take place all over the Roseland and the waters of the Carrick Roads. It is a memorable place for many people who return year after year to enjoy the magic of this beautiful place.

My place is close to the beaches and great views of The Atlantic in the north and the sea in the south. There are restaurants and dining and art and culture in nearby towns of Falmouth and St Ives. It's an unique area where you can discover old Cornish mining sites. You’ll love my place because of the views and the space in my garden. The cottage is cosy and full of light. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families with kids.

  • A beautiful cornish cottage that is cosy, warm and in a lovely quiet village setting. Tara is a warm happy to help kind of lady who makes you feel very welcome im her home. We arrived quite late (after 22:00) but it was not an issue for her at all. To top it off she has the softest, fluffiest cat I have ever met and I fell in love (I am a dog person), it was hard not to take him with us when we left

The adorable Beach Hill Cottage is located in the heart of the picturesque & unspoilt village of Portloe only yards from the harbour beach and is perfect for a couple or a small family all year round. From the doorstep, you can watch the comings & goings of the local crab & lobster fishermen as they launch their boats and land their catches daily. This is Cornwall as we all imagine, but rarely find these days. Dogs are welcome.
The adorable Beach Hill Cottage is located in the heart of the picturesque & unspoilt village of Portloe only yards from the harbour beach and is perfect for a couple or a small family all year round. From just outside your front door you can watch the comings & goings of the local crab & lobster fishermen as they launch their boats and land their catches daily. This is Cornwall as we all imagine, but rarely find these days. Beach Hill Cottage is a beautifully converted former fisherman's cottage. It is a small cottage, but full of character and wonderfully presented by the Owners. It is an ideal all year round basis as it has a woodburning stove for cosy winter evenings. It is perfectly positioned for exploring the miles of coastal walks and only a short drive to the spectacular Carne beach. The cottage itself has a small but well fitted kitchen with a dining table & slate floor. The lounge is a really cosy room & full of character with a wood burning stove and beamed ceiling. There is a comfortable sofa and window seat. There are steep stairs leading up to the first floor bedrooms & bathroom. Accommodation Ground Floor: Open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. First Floor: Double bedroom, single room with truckle bed (extending to a double bed) and separate bathroom with shower & WC. Exterior: There is no garden, but there is a small slate area to the front where there is a table and two chairs to sit and watch the harbour. Facilities & Services Heating is via the wood burning stove and combination convection/night storage heaters downstairs and in both bedrooms. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and washing machine. The lounge has a smart TV / DVD player, CD & radio and Bluetooth speaker. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included, but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is a parking space right in front of the cottage which you can normally park in however please note that it is not for the sole use of the cottage so you may at times have to park in the main village car park which is a 5 minute walk away. Please note that the stairs at the cottage are quite steep. There is WiFi available at the property. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome at a small additional cost of £25 per dog / per week. We regret no smoking is permitted. There is an iron and ironing board and clothes horse. There is a cot & high chair available on request. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is a Friday. Portloe is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of the Roseland peninsula and one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall. Its steep sided valleys has meant that it has managed to escape development over the years and many buildings differ little from when they were built. Sir John Betjeman said of Portloe "One of the least spoiled and most impressive of Cornish fishing villages". Portloe is an ideal place to stay on the Roseland Peninsula. It is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, yet it has a really good local pub & hotel. The village itself is only a short drive from the other villages such as St Mawes. The city of Truro is also within a 25 minute drive. The Lugger Hotel with its excellent restaurant is only a few steps away and the Ship Inn is a short walk. The New Inn at Veryan serves food. There is also the Portloe Tea Room nearby. There is no general store in Portloe, however there are shops at Veryan (1.4 miles) and a Londis store at Bessy Beneath (3 miles). Further pubs, shops & restaurants are also available in Tregony, Ruan Lanihorne, Portscatho & St Mawes.
  • A quiet spot in Portloe but with a hotel and a pub on the doorstep, has coastal path with easy walks in both directions, leading to nice lunch stops, internally all is provided for your comfort and its spotlessly clean, bring your own food as well as dishwasher tabs and your all set up As we visited in winter we took logs, firelighters and kindling but these can easily be purchased at Texaco garage about 3 miles away.

    Jean2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage by the sea. Just a literal stones throw from the cottage is the lovely rocky cove of Portloe. Cottage has all you need for a break away. Even a welcoming cake was left out for us! Very much enjoyed our stay here.

    Howard2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage in a perfect location, there is everything you need for a comfortable stay and my wife and I loved being able to hear the sea at night. All communication with Richard was straightforward and easy, and the cottage lives up to its billing. Having said that Dog walking is for the adventurous, but you are rewarded with stunning views. We had good meal in The ship.. and our experience of Dinner at the Lugger hotel was exemplary.. booked a table day before and asked about Vegan options for my wife (I’m a card holding carnivore) and on arrival they had created an entire Vegan menu just for her and was the nicest meal and loveliest dining experience we have ever had. I am so glad we have found Beach Hill cottage and WILL be returning. Many thanks for a memorable 5 days.

  • Perfect for a relaxing getaway, amazing location , you can step out and the little harbour is right there, the cottage is cosy , curl up by the log fire and read a book or play games, walk along the coastal paths pop into the pub on the way home !! The Beach Cottage is superb and I highly recommend staying, great location for your four legged friends!! Thanks we will definitely book again

    Richard2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Would thoroughly recommend this place. Great little cottage in an amazing location. Couldn’t be closer to the sea. Hotel opposite was always busy but didn’t create any noise. Very welcoming too to non residents. Pub was also good for a pint or pub meal. Only downside was that you couldn’t always park outside cottage due to hotel customers. Was always possible to park up the hill in the car park (5mins walk) so not the end of the world. Lots of great dog friendly places to eat in the area. Definitely recommend the Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick Beach

    Justin2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely quaint cottage in a wonderful little village. Great coastal walks and the locals are very welcoming. Buses are right on your door step and tasting local Cornish pasty’s is a must.

We have enjoyed creating a stylish cosy guest space that fits in with it’s beautiful rural surroundings. Buzzard Outlook is situated in the hamlet of Porth Kea in an area of outstanding natural beauty, close to the backwaters of Coombe and Cowlands Creek. The picturesque Roundwood Quay is also very close by and a hidden gem. An ideal location for walkers, cyclists and for those who enjoy being in touch with nature. A tranquil, peaceful break away from the town or city centre (2 miles away).
The stylish open plan configuration is on one level with a fully fitted kitchen and dining area; the space is exceptionally light and airy with a modern yet cosy feel. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cooker with ceramic hob and a coffee machine to provide our guests with those added extras. The property also offers a wood burning stove, double seater sofa with footstool and a flatscreen smart TV, free Wi-Fi and Netflix. The bedroom accommodates a comfortable king-size bed, flatscreen smart TV and ensuite shower room.
Buzzard Outlook is conveniently placed for exploring the north and south coast, tucked away in a very peaceful location set in rolling open countryside just 2 miles south of Truro. The National Trust 's Trelissick Gardens is within easy reach for keen walkers or cyclists, as is the King Harry Ferry that takes you across to the breathtaking Roseland peninsula. A car is recommended for exploring the Roseland Peninsula; a bike is also an option for the keener cyclist! The Cathedral City of Truro with it’s pretty cobbled streets and beautiful architecture is 2 miles away. It has plentiful shops, restaurants and coffee shops as well as a Farmer’s market every Saturday and Wednesday at Lemon Quay. The vibrant harbour town of Falmouth can be reached in approximately 15 minutes by car - it’s streets lined with shops, art galleries, cafés and restaurants. It’s beaches: Gylllngvase, Swanpool and Maenporth can be found where kayaks and paddle boards are available for hire to explore the coastline from the water. Gyllyngvase beach café comes highly recommended, as does Hooked On The Rocks fish restaurant at Swanpool beach and The Cove at Maenporth. The Wheel House is an amazing shell fish restaurant in Falmouth and extremely popular with the locals. The Meat Counter is great for Burgers, Rick Steins for Fish and Chips and The Ranch for a good Sunday Roast or Steak. The Pandora - a renowned creekside Inn, is in a picture postcard setting with it’s thatched roof, low beamed ceilings and traditional flagstone floors. It can be reached by car in approximately 15 minutes. The stunning sandy beaches on the north coast are circa 10 miles away: Perranporth, Porthtowan and Chapel Porth attract surfers and offer great beach bars too. Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are also great beaches for surfing and not to be missed. Take a trip to Lelant St. Ives from Truro train station and visit the Porthminster Cafe, voted one of the top 10 beach cafés in The Times. You will have to book in advance! Located on the picturesque Porthminster beach. Our local well stocked Spar Shop with post office is approximately a mile and a half away.
  • Buzzard’s Outlook is situation in a quiet and rural location. It is very clean and comfortable, a great place to stay to explore Cornwall. Although we visited on a very wet and windy weekend, we made the most of the fire and had a very relaxing time in this cosy spot. I’d certainly recommend staying here and Jessica is a great thoughtful host. We’d love to come back when the sun is shining to make the most of the views and outside space.

    Laura2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Way above all expectations! We have recently spent a few days here over New Years Eve and our year couldn’t have ended in a better place. The cabin is stylish, sparkling clean, light but cosy and very high tech. The finishing touches and attention to detail were amazing and much appreciated. We had a lovely time and would 100% recommend and will be back.

  • Small (as stated in the description) but exquisite! Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Buzzard Outlook is a real gem with a bright contemporary feel supported by traditional values. The property nestles in the rolling countryside overlooking the Fal estuary. My visit was a short stay over 3 days of Christmas, I was overwhelmed from the moment I opened the door, light, bright, tastefully furnished and welcoming. All amenities were clean and - as with everything else - well presented. The welcome pack was thoughtfully crafted and my impression is that the host has set a very high bar for this property, which honestly she has exceeded. I wish the host every success with this fabulous property and have already said I will be back and back!

Perranwell Station is equidistant between Truro to the north and Falmouth to the south. Both are approximately 15 minutes drive away. TThe Cathedral City of Truro is in the heart of Cornwall and offers a wealth of facilities for the visitor. Dominated by the stunning cathedral, it is one of the south west's most attractive cities. Lemon Quay plays host to many events throughout the year including the Cornwall Food & Drink Festival in the Autumn and the famous Truro Fatstock Show just before Christmas. Regular farmers markets occur every Wednesdays & Saturday and there are also arts & craft markets on Saturdays. There is a wonderful range of shopping for the visitor including all the regular high street stores in addition to Marks & Spencer, Tescos & Sainsburys, but also a wide range of more specialist stores. It really is worth a wander through the back streets and alleys to find some fabulous little boutiques.Truro has a superb range of restaurants from Bustopher Jones & Mannings on Lemon Street to the always popular Pizza Express. There are lively bars, pubs & nightclubs including the Old Ale House, a busy Wetherspoons and the infamous L2 if you are so inclined!Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of it's unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day a truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein has opened his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar at Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town.
  • A lovely, quiet, comfortable, private place to stay. Nicola was very welcoming and even had a bottle of wine waiting for us along with 6 fresh hens eggs. Then Clive brought us some fresh garden produce! What with local information and lovely country walks starting on the door step,it was the perfect place for us to base ourselves!

  • What a beautiful place! We felt at home straight away, a really cosy cottage full of character. The owner Nicki was very welcoming and was only too happy to help us with anything we needed. We were even welcomed with fresh hens eggs and wine on arrival which was a lovely touch! The surrounding area was stunning, with horse stables opposite and such beautiful landscape, it was a real joy to wake up to every morning. Our two young daughters settled in very quickly, none of us wanted to go home! We would highly recommend Roseland cottage and hope to return in the future. Thank you!

  • A really lovely warm and spacious room with private en-suite shower room. The bed was really clean and comfortable. Cathie and John were really friendly and the house is in a great private location but close to everything and I was travelling with no car. I would definitely recommend staying here over other places. You won’t be disappointed :)

  • This is a lovely big comfortable room with a balcony and a private en suite bathroom in a friendly home. Cathie and John were lovely, very friendly and helpful. They gave me tips on the best walking routes to town, to the shops, to the pub and to the hospital (just a ten minutes walk away). They let me use their washing machine, and I was able to park safely off road in their drive. This home is shared by a big soppy dog called Sam, I'm not a dog person but Sam seemed to understand that and he behaved very well around me. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cathie and John's stay. Thanks for having me 🙂
