The Riverside cabin is a truly hand-built home, made with love from the woodland that surrounds it.. A rustic Cornish getaway, only 15 minutes from Falmouth. With the sound of the wind in the leaves, the tinkling water and the crackling fire to relax you. We hope you will have a wonderfully memorable time.
The Cabin is set in a lovely woodland garden, with a firepit for outdoor cooking, swings and a stream to paddle in. It is situated next to a stream and woodland, near a quiet country road with great access to creeks, cliffs and beaches of Cornwall
The Cabin is just off a rural road between the thriving seaside/ harbour town of Falmouth, and the creeks and fishing villages of the Beautiful Helford River and the Lizard peninsula.
  • Great little place really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful craftsmanship.

  • Loved every minute of it. Super cute and cosy. Great location for exploring surrounding Cornish towns!

  • One of the most beautiful spaces I have been fortunate enough to spend time in, ever. The craftsmanship is exquisite and the love that ben has for wood is palpable. The communication was swift and straightforward. It is really a magical place. It is closer to a (v quiet) road than I expected but everything else (wood burner, swings, fairy lights etc) made up for it.

  • A magnificent experience! Very authentic and humble place with all the essentials and more. If you want something magical look no further! We loved every moment, specially the outside shower and waking up to birds singing and a steam flowing.

    Silas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was an absolutely amazing, well needed break away. It was peaceful and tranquil and we had a very relaxing time ( which is total opposite at home). The weather was crisp and cold but with some sun. I loved the swing and the fire pit and the outdoor shower was a great touch, something I never thought I would enjoy but I did... the photo album showing how it was built and all the other items Ben can build was a lovely touch. It was for my fiance 30th birthday. We have recommended to friends and we hope to stay again sometime soon. Thank you so much.

  • Highly recommended! Excellent stay!

  • Beautiful little cabin very cosy and warm with fire! Shower would be perfect in summer but cold for winter months overall great place to stay!!

    Shannen2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Exquisite getaway in the wilds of Cornwall, this cabin is an absolute must stay. Complete with log burning stove, outdoor fire pit and composting loo, this is really one for the outdoorsy adventurer who still loves a bit of home comfort. Suitable for couples or families, and with lots to do in the area with some great local pubs, cafes and attractions. Short drive to Trebah gardens, helford passage and the seal sanctuary at gweek to name a few. A perfect weekend, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you Ben x

  • We had a great mini family break at anika and gwith’s flat. The location is amazing and it was so lovely to be so close to the sea. The flat is small but perfectly formed, and has everything you need! A brilliant place to stay to explore Cornwall.

    Maddy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Although the house is a little smaller than it appears on the pictures, its abolute plus is the location directly at the wonderful Porthtowan beach. There is lots to do in the immediate surroundings: playing in sand, enjoying the waves, cliff walks, a café, super delicious ice-cream, a pub with great food, an organic store with local handicraft, a playground, ... , let alone all the games and interesting books provided at the flat! A perfect place to get away and relax!

  • Great flat in great location. Even arriving during Storm Ciara didnt dampen our enthusiasm. Sound of the surf in morning was lovely. Would definitely recommend. Hope to stay again. Great hosts with very good communication throughout.

  • A fantastic stay, great location and views and Anika and Gwith were incredibly helpful!! We can’t wait to go back!

  • Great place. It has everything you need . Great view too

    Tilly2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was great, really comfortable and cosy, especially with the wind howling outside! So nice to be able to walk the coast path straight from the door and watch the waves from the window. We loved the personal touches, the milk in the fridge and Sue's note welcoming us. I would definitely recommend staying at Anika and Gwith's flat.

This stunning, three double-bedroom Finnish Lodge, nestles into the side of Carn Marth Hill, a World Heritage Site. From the huge triple glazed Cathedral windows there are far reaching views across the rural landscape of mid-Cornwall. Enjoy relaxing by the pool during the day and soaking in the hot tub by night!
The living room is flooded with light from the double height windows as is the mezzanine double bedroom. The wood burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere in the evenings or for winter visits. You will enjoy the hot tub looking out over the rural landscape. The property is well equipped for 6 people to enjoy a very comfortable stay.
We live on the side of Carn Marth Hill and you can walk directly from the house to the top of the hill where you will find a lovely little quarry lake where locals fish and occasionally swim. From here you can see both North and South coasts the walk on to explore more of the many footpaths and bridleways.
  • The Lodge is beaufitul, clean and has great views. The huge window fills the space with natural light and keeps it surprisingly warm! Caroline is very welcoming, we'd have felt very comfortable asking for help at any point if we'd needed it.

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to get away for a while. Caroline was lovely in assisting us from booking to checking out. I would certainly recommend this place and hopefully one day return for another stay.

    Muhammad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s place felt really special, we arrived a little early due to the rain and Caroline accommodated this with no notice. The alpacas made the place really unique, lovely that they are in the field next door to the property. And the hot tub was a big hit with everyone. And let’s not forget scones fresh from the oven with jam and lashings of clotted cream. Really convenient to get to lots of places as well. We stayed with our friends who have two little girls and an infant and there was plenty of room, two bathrooms definitely helps! I should also mention the property was cosier than I thought it would be even without the fire on. Great for a wet February half term!

    Gillian2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s house was lovely and we felt very welcome. From the cream tea with homemade scones on arrival to the luxurious hot tub to the cute and funny alpacas in the back garden, we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

    Elspeth2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely lodge. Super hot tub. Lovely cream tea and the most comfy beds. A super place to stay.

    Deborah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful lodge set in a picturesque location. Caroline is a wonderful host, answering questions extremely promptly pre-arrival , then offering her assistance on arrival with her knowledge of the local area. The lodge is extremely well appointed & the hot tub is toasty toasty! Highly recommended!

    Emma2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely located, tucked out of the way about so nice and peaceful but close enough to East South and West coasts. Didn't explore too much as weather was being very British but what we did see were some nice walks and welcoming pubs. Cosy to stay in thanks to the log burner too. A really nice way to escape for a days.

    Alex2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • From arrival to departure a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Amazing cream tea supplied by the host enjoyed by the log burner whilst watching the llamas!

  • Beautiful place, easy check in. Loved it.

    Gintare2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Very cozy and clean. We had problems with our car and Shirley and her husband helped us and gave us a lift to the town! Very helpful :-)

    Hannah2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Really tiny place but has everything you need for two people for a week. Great location, easy to find and great value. Only suggestion I would add is it could do with an extra chopping board and a curtain over the door, just for extra privacy. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, thanks :)

    Emily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very accurate description, loved the character of the place. Any small problems that occurred were resolved very quickly. Even Storm Ciara couldn't 'dampen' our enjoyment.

    Martin2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A really cosy little space handy location for all of the sights to see in the area, easy to get to and directions provided by Shirley make it easy to find.

    Sara2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for three nights in Winter and had a really lovely stay. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad (can’t be helped) but we still had a great time regardless. The cottage is cosy and homely and very close to lots of towns and beaches. Would definitely recommend staying here as it has everything you’d want for a short stay away.

    Aimee2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place tucked away but not a million miles from anywhere. Perfect for a couple nights but if your coming in winter you may want to bring an extra blanket!

A cosy but bright log cabin , in a sylvanian setting, just yards from a public bridleway alongside the River Cober. **Please Note - the price per night is for the first guest only. Additional guests are charged at a marginal extra cost ( shown in "Pricing" > "Extra charges " on the Airbnb site) Thank you :) ** ** NEW OCTOBER 2018 - NEW 4'6" double bed ** Sleeps 4 comfortably (one 4' 6" double bed, 1 single bed in a bedroom, 1 single bed in a curtained area) ...read more in details
"The cabin" is a log cabin, in an idyllic rural location, just a few yards from a small river, with stepping stones to a tree-lined public bridleway. It is very close to my own dwelling, but not intrusive, either way. It accommodates a maximum of 4 people. A cosy, but airy log cabin with one separate bedroom (1 single bed with another underneath it, to pull out if needed....but NB, this leaves no floor space ) a main room, open to the apex, with a 4' 6" double bed, a curtained area, offset to one side , with a single bed. The shower and toilet room is in an adjacent building (4 steps away) together with a separate kitchen/ dining room. Included in the price is electricity, water, linen, towels ( please bring your own beach towels) , basic kitchen cleaning equipment, tea, coffee, condiments and of course toilet tissue. Also soap and shampoo . There is a hair dryer in the cabin and a cooling fan can be provided if needed ( for those few tropical days/ nights...) There is access to a small paved garden area at the rear of the cabin, with chairs and a patio table This is quite private and just for your use. There is a small washing line , solely for your use, right outside of the cabin. There is access to a washing machine and tumble dryer (for a small extra charge via an honesty box) Also there is access to a small freezer. Our front garden is solely for our own family use. I will happily help you with any questions or recommendations , but I am equally happy to completely respect your total privacy. Our neighbourhood is beautiful, peaceful and calm, with just a few passing dog walkers and horse riders throughout the day, along the bridleway. It is a hamlet of about 80 dwellings, with a small library, converted from a telephone box! I know if you choose to holiday here, you will be keen to maintain the peace and tranquility. There is parking just for you (1 space) close to the cabin. There are no buses in Lowertown, but there are buses from Helston town, to visit The Lizard Peninsular, Truro, Falmouth, Penzance and Lands End areas. There are train stations in Falmouth, Penzance, Camborne, Redruth and Truro, to take you further "up the line" Included in the price is electricity, water, linen, towels ( please bring your own beach towels) , basic kitchen cleaning equipment, tea, coffee, milk, condiments and of course toilet tissue. There is a hair dryer in the cabin and a cooling fan can be provided if needed ( for those few tropical days/ nights...) there is a travel iron and ironing board in the kitchen area. There is a mini oven with two hob plates, in the kitchen. ( NOT A MICROWAVE) Please note the approximate internal area of the log cabin ( so the sleeping area ) is 20 square metres .
I love the tranquility of the neighbourhood. You can just about hear the river winding through the woods, the buzzards calling to each other , the green woodpecker calling........very little else.
  • Arrived during what must be considered a downpour!! river's swelling, wind blowing a hoot to be greeted by Bev whom i must say is a lovely lady. She showed us to the cabin and went through all amenities etc, even left us a welcome bottle of prosecco 👍(which we forgot to drink👎) Not your usual type of host that gets in your way but left us to it, knowing that if we required anything then all we had to do was ask. The cabin was sparkly clean and warm. Our kids loved the fact that they had there own space each, within a space! everything was perfect and a big up for Bev xxx

    Danny2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent two lovely nights in Bevs beautiful log cabin. It was even better than we could have imagined. The cabin itself was gorgeous, very spacious and decorated lovely. The kitchen and bathroom spaces were also great. There was plenty of stuff provided to use and the amenities were wonderful. Bev was an exceptional host. She was incredibly helpful and polite. The little touches were wonderful, such as providing me with oat milk instead of cow milk. And the little chalk board welcoming us. It was in a lovely location, with some great walks just a matter of minutes away. We would definitely stay here again when we come back down to visit our family in helston.

    Ashleign2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Bev’s. The personal touches were lovely and everything was just as described. Bev was a wonderful host and the local area is stunning.

    Victoria2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you to Bev for hosting me and my sister for 2 nights in September. We arrived very late but from the great chekin instructions it was super easy to find. The cabin is so cute and exactly what we needed after a 7 hour drive! Kitchen and bathroom are literally steps away and are both better than you can imagine for the space. Really enjoyed our stay and will certainly return. Xx

    Samantha2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Bev's log cabin, it is a minute away from the stepping stones on the river Cober leading to beautiful walks. The cabin is luxurious, cosy, clean, warm and had all we needed. The kitchen and shower room are very close by. Looking forward very much to going back.

    Caroline2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Bev’s cabin is a wonderful little home from home, it was a perfect base for our exploration in Cornwall. The facilities were excellent and the cabin was cosy without being too small. Bev was lovely and I hope she enjoyed the hen do! My only regret was that we couldn’t stay for longer.

    Kemlo2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Bevs so i went with high expectations knowing how good the first stay had been; I was not disappointed! Bevs cabin continues to be a little hideaway within easy reach of lots of exciting places. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches which make the stay that extra special.

    Grace2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Bev is a fantastic, helpful host. The cabin is good for four people, great for three and absolutely superb for just the two of us as we each had a “dressing room”. I am notoriously untidy so my wife loved having a room for me to be able to leave things around without them being in public view. I digress. The cabin is in the perfect location for touring western Cornwall from Newquay at one end and Lands End (pun) at the other. You are not even far from the most southerly point (the Lizard). We visited all these and more. P.S. Perranporth was our personal favourite but Porthleven is a lovely coastal/beachy village only a couple of miles away. People who have read my previous reviews (not on AirBnB as this was our first time) will know I am fixated by bathrooms and a hatred of fixed head showers. Bev’s is absolutely fine, with the ability of using the shower as a hand held or not. Hot water is virtually instantaneously and powerful. In fact there is no negative for me as far as the bathroom is concerned. (That must be a first!). You can use the attached kitchen to cook if you like, but we used it more of as a food store for evening treats, there are LOADS of good places to eat within a mile or so of the cabin. Fridge for my hams and cheeses, a freezer for my ice-cream, what more can a man want? (LIDL is just around the corner, you can even walk there over the stepping stones) I won't recommend any food outlets as your tastes will surely be different from ours EXCEPT make sure you go for the Sunday Lunch carvery at the Wheal Dream Golf Club restaurant about 1/2 a mile up the (Redruth) road. We did (twice!). Be careful there are a lot of very narrow, winding, one-car width roads all over Cornwall, that your navigation system will absolutely love to send you down, so prepare to drive in a relaxed manner and give way (after all – you are on holiday). Negatives – I just don’t have any. Think ….. I probably would not book this accommodation in winter, purely because of the location. I personally couldn’t face driving the roads. See how I am struggling.

Coasteering, surfing, or even a flying lesson. Whitewalls is the perfect location!
  • Michelle's cottage provided the perfect bolt hole for myself and my wife with everything considered, characterful and of the best quality. The bed and be linen were second to none and the quality of the kitchen equipment simply made me jealous. Michelle obviously cares about her guests as much as she obviously adores the cottage, with thoughtful touches and splashes of luxury and oodles of style. The stairs to the bedroom are very steep and you do need to use the rope hand rail but we soon got used to it and the extra care needed. The bathroom agin is uber stylish and the highest quality and the outdoor area, even though the weather didn't really lend itself to making full use of it, was charming. Mithian itself is lovely small hamlet with a decent country pub less than a minutes walk and St Agnes, just 2 miles away, is full of Cornish charm with easy access to the South West Coastal Path - just exceptional walking. Overall? And exceptional place to stay and well worthy of the accolades its reviews bestow.

  • My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful few days in Cornwall staying in this beautiful cottage. I couldn't recommend it more - wonderful relaxing break!

    Daniel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time in a beautiful home and every detail was just so thought out. Really nice touches in terms of decorations and also a great use of such a small space too made our stay really comfortable. We had an awful weekend in terms of weather but the cottage was very cosy and we managed to spark up the fire and chilled out with Netflix on the smart tv which was a nice touch! Bed was super comfy and the robe and slippers again another nice touch! The host made us feel at home and was on hand at all times, making sure we had everything we needed. Garden was so pretty and quaint, would love to go back in summer when we could enjoy it! Will certainly be taking some of the ideas for design features back into my own home, and may even buy some knitting needles after being inspired by the ones in the cottage! Thank you, we had a lovely stay!

  • We loved the Cottage. Warm and cosy and so easy to spend time in. Michelle goes the extra mile with the little details. Special section for our pooch with treats and welcome furry toy was a special touch. This is one Airbnb host who goes the extra mile. The village is very picturesque and the local (Miners arms) is what you would imagine a pub should be.

  • Lovely stay in this little cottage :) the stairs are very steep just as a warning. Loved all the thoughtful touches!

    Sarah2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time in this fantastic thatched cottage. The location is great, the property is beautiful and Michelle was all that we could have asked for as a host. If we get the chance, we will definitely be coming back!

    Jacob2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little cottage jam packed with great modern amenities you don’t usually find in holiday rentals that make all the difference.

  • We had an amazing week over New Years in Michelle’s cottage. It had everything we needed and was perfectly situated to explore Cornwall. Would highly recommend staying

Set within the grounds of the original Count House for the Basset mines (as featured on Poldark). Nestled on a world heritage site. North Coast beaches just 5 miles away. Cosy cottage in a tranquil location, overlooking Carn brea and views to the coast. Ideal as a base for exploring the rugged beauty of Cornwall whilst remaining a short drive away from the local town and shops.
Little Basset is a cosy cottage which has its own fully equipped kitchen, bedroom with its own closet space, and bathroom in which there is a shower.
Little Basset is located on private grounds on the outskirts of Carnkie. Carnkie is a peaceful, friendly village in the heart of the old mining community. There is a pub a half a mile walk away and taxis are readily available, it is also a walking distance from Carn Brea castle which is a Jordanian restaurant; the castle itself can be traced back to 1379. The main thing Carnkie has to offer is the beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere!
  • This the second time we have stayed. We live it, very quiet ideal to unwind at Recommend

  • Secluded, bijou, everything one needs. Just don't go there if require WiFi/Internet etc. Just the space to really relax away from it all. Good walks all around & definitely no interference from host unless required. A real place to just unwind..

  • Definitely recommend Alisa’s place. Very quite and relaxing, very well equipped for its size. Would stay again, we loved it.

  • This is a very cute, simple little cottage in a pretty amazing area. You can walk all the way up Carn Brea from the doorstep :) Not too easy to find (it is not the Carnkie in Helston!) but Alisa was very helpful with directions and quick to respond. Very quiet and solitary - a great little escape!

    Nicola2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very sweet, warm and cosy nest. It provides all that is needed and it is in a charming location among ruins of the mining past of the area. The coast is at about 20-30 minutes driving and it is stunning, also featuring St Ives. We had a great week and also enjoyed the amazing hospitality and kindness of Ailsa always ready to help and support us.

Nestled in the lovely hamlet of Treskillard, on our smallholding, you will find this adorable little cottage, once home to the gardener's rake and flower pots. Peace, greenery and bird song surround this detached studio barn and the thoughtful simplicity of the cottage's interior is welcoming and very charming.
Time at The Potting Shed can be as busy or as relaxed as one chooses. For keen walkers, you may have hit the jackpot as the Great Flat Lode is right on your doorstep, just one of the many mineral trails you can walk or cycle, taking you from coast to coast or simply for a few miles inland following the old trails of the mining industry. When the coast beckons head off to the sandy beaches of Portreath or Porthtowan, both just a 20 minute drive away, or further north head up to Chapel Porth where you will see even more evidence of this area of Cornwall's very rich mining history.
The immediate neighbourhood is now agricultural but the evidence of its former mining history lies in the beauty of the multiple engine houses nestled amongst the farms.
  • The potting shed was lovely inside had everything we needed! And was great to come back to after a long day exploring Cornwalls countryside. Good parking space and lovely host!

  • Exactly ‘what it says on the tin ‘ lovely place to stay, quiet and peaceful, everything you need to enjoy your stay

  • Sharon's place was in the perfect location for exploring Cornwall. It simultaneously feels really remote while being connected. You're on a beautiful farm on a quiet lane with literally no traffic anywhere, but you're also a 10 minute drive from so many great villages and the beach. It's so small and cute inside with a comfortable bed and blackout blinds. It also has a small well equipped kitchen which we cooked in twice!

    Eccie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • I genuinely enjoyed my stay in Cornwall. The place is a perfect size for someone traveling solo and has all of the necessities. I am also appreciative that I was able to bring my dogs with me. There are nice trails and scenery all around.

  • Such a little gem, we stayed here for 6 nights and it was well worth it! Such a beautiful little place, cosy and warm 😊 situated in a lovely location, it wasn't too far from anywhere we visited, our two French bulldogs loved it too! Overall a beautiful and enjoyable stay! Would love to come back!

    Holly2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to spend a long weekend exploring Cornwall. Very clean and cosy with good facilities for doing simple food preparation, and a lovely view. Sharon was very helpful in providing directions, and it was a great place to come back to at the of the day.

    Hannah2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Visiting in a particularly cold, wet and dark October half term, we found The Potting Shed successfully met all our needs! Cosy, warm, dry, clean, attractive! A bright little gem. It’s a beautifully appointed studio with good quality interior furnishings and a stylish shower room. There’s plenty of outside seating space for good weather (shame we were unlucky!) and room to roam in the fields and gardens. There are views in the valley of the old tin mining architecture that we love in this central location. Our spaniel pup also had a gorgeous friend to play with, and had the time of her life ! Thank you so much !

  • Great location, only 15 minutes drive to the Truro park and ride which only cost £1 each on Saturdays which made a great trip out. Good local places for food however If you are looking for a quite night in the kitchen is very well equipped and modern. I liked that the tap doubles up as filtered water. Abi was very welcoming and the response time with the hosts was very prompt and helped lots with recommendations of what to do. Good private parking on driveway and very private location. Also liked the private path to our chalet. Hope to Come again sometime and all the best with the future.

Located on a private lane with private parking and access through a tiered garden, The Pound is a two bedroom (connected rooms) L-shaped flat. The front door leads into the lounge with bedrooms to the right. From the left a step takes you into the kitchen with the bathroom on the left.
‘The Pound’ is a quirky two bedroom (connecting rooms) log cabin flat. It also has a lounge, kitchen and bathroom and is accessed via a zig zag path leading up from a designated parking area. When we bought the house 6 years ago, The Pound was a dog grooming parlour, hence the name, which was in a very bad state. We renovated it for two of our sons to live in and a few years on, and both sons having moved out, it is now surplus to our requirements, so have decided to rent it out for you to stay in to enjoy the Cornish experience. We have tried to think of everything you would need during your stay to make it a home from home holiday. At the front of the property there is a storage box which houses recycling bags and where your bagged rubbish can be stored for collection on a Thursday evening. As we are close to the A30, which can be seen from the front of the property, there is traffic noise outside but not within the accommodation. There is a table and 4 chairs on the patio at the front of the property but as the property is surrounded by large trees there is only direct sunlight in the morning. To the left side of The Pound there is a small gate which gives access to our garden which you are more than welcome to use on sunnier days and meet our friendly Labrador, Jago. Located between Illogan, Portreath and Redruth there is easy access by road to each. Jenn's Diner is a family-run American style diner a one minute walk away. The Track is a five acre cycle facility based near Portreath and is less than 1 mile away. The Track is suitable for ALL types of mountain bikes, E-Bikes, BMX bikes and balance bikes and all ages and abilities. Kernow Hydro pool is also situated on this site. The Cornish mining town of Redruth town is a 10 minute walk away and there is easy access to all surrounding towns and villages via the public bus and train system. Redruth is home to a variety of exceptional pasty shops, individual shops, cafes, cinema/theatre and boasts the home of the famous William Murdoch, the first man to invent domestic gaslighting. His house can be visited and his invention is celebrated with Murdoch Day every year during mid June with an exciting programme of events including children’s dance and art procession, all day music and entertainment, a street market, old time fair exhibitions and a variety of live concerts and other events around the town. Redruth also hosts an annual Pasty & Mining Festival each September. The event is focussed around the town centre. The Friday is Mining Day, the Saturday is Pasty Day and the Sunday is Memorial & Fun Day. Activities on Pasty Day include cookery demonstrations and ‘make your own pasty’. Portreath is the closest beach, being only 3 miles away. With Porthtowan, Gwithian, Hayle, St Ives, St Agnes and Perranporth all a stones’ through away on the north Cornish coast. Each beach is unique boasting beautiful golden sand, cliffs and rocks with miles of coastal paths ready to be discovered with The Pound being a great location for you to relax after any expedition, however being close to the A30 there is traffic noise in the garden, but not inside the accommodation. Overlooking both Camborne and Redruth and reaching up to 738 feet above sea level is Carn Brea which is 1.8 miles away. The Carn can be seen from most high ground in Cornwall and the monument on top easily picked out. Conversely the view from the top of the Carn takes in both coasts and a good deal of the Camborne/Redruth conurbation. What is not apparent from any distance is the size of the monument, with it being a 90 foot high granite obelisk. The huge hexagonal column was erected in 1836 in memory of Francis Bassett, Lord de Dunstaville. The Bassetts where the most important mining family in the area and had lived in Tehidy for over 700 years (Tehidy is now the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall. Now managed as a Country Park, Tehidy has over 9 miles (14.5km) of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods and lakes to explore, together with a café and a picnic area. Francis Bassett was however the first to be elevated to the nobility due to his efforts to raise an army of miners to defend the port of Plymouth from the combined Spanish and French fleets. Another legacy of the Bassett family is Carn Brea Castle. It is suggested that it started out as an Elizabethan hunting lodge, was a Victorian folly and is now a restaurant. Carn Brea also has associations with the legendary giants of Cornwall. It is said to be the home of the giant Bolster who when standing could put his other foot on top of St Agnes Beacon over 10 miles away! Cornwall's capital city Truro is 11 miles away. Truro Cathedral is located in the centre of this thriving Cornish city and wonderfully situated in the middle of the duchy of Cornwall. Designed by architect John Loughborough Pearson, it is one of only three cathedrals in the UK which has three spires. Completed in 1910 it is a magnificent example of gothic revival architecture. A must-see place to visit in Cornwall with free entry. The Bissoe Cycle Path is a coast to coast trail that links Portreath harbour 11 miles across the county to the port of Devoran on the South coast. In the 1800s, this trail was used as a mineral tramway for the copper mines around Redruth. The Eden Project (Cornish: Edenva) is a popular visitor attraction in Cornwall. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed china clay pit and is 33 miles away. The Minack is a unique theatre perched on the cliffs high above the Atlantic ocean where they hold musicals and operas every summer, together with music, comedy and story-telling events. The Minack is 27 miles away. St Michaels Mount is 17 miles away. St Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall. The island is a civil parish and is linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway of granite setts, passable between mid-tide and low water. It is managed by the National Trust, and the castle and chapel have been the home of the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650. St Ives is classed as the dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown. A picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town and listed as one of TripAdvisor’s top 10 European beaches. Here you can wander through the maze of narrow cobbled streets, independent shops and fisherman’s cottages and only 17 miles away.

  • Lovely place with nice views. Great lean-to conservatory as the entrance, with plenty of space for bikes and to take off muddy clothes before entering the cottage. Bathroom is close to the front door so you can scrub up before entering the main cottage. Great hosts even when woken up by a muppet who locked myself out.

  • A beautiful cornish cottage that is cosy, warm and in a lovely quiet village setting. Tara is a warm happy to help kind of lady who makes you feel very welcome im her home. We arrived quite late (after 22:00) but it was not an issue for her at all. To top it off she has the softest, fluffiest cat I have ever met and I fell in love (I am a dog person), it was hard not to take him with us when we left

    Stephen2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

Dog friendly! We give you comfort and modern utilities in a beautiful rural location. The living/dining room has double doors opening to the gated communal lawn. The bedrooms are COSY, great for a peaceful night’s sleep in the Cornish countryside. Please note: NO SMOKING ON THE PREMISES. The chalet itself is one of two located to the rear of our property so we’re never too far to help, however you will have a key safe so you’re welcome to come and go as you please - we won’t disturb you.
The entire apartment is all yours throughout your duration and you can also have a space on the driveway for unpacking. We have a small utility area with a freezer, iron/board and other useful Cornish information for you to use. As mentioned, the bedrooms are small and big enough for two adults in the double but we’d recommend one adult in the bunk beds or two children.
The village of Carnkie, Redruth is beautifully rural and has a great sense of community. The local village hall has events on regularly (take a walk down to see wasson!) and the local scenery is exceptional. A 50m walk will take you to the foot of a tremendous walk up to Carn Brea Monument — something that must be seen. Views across the west of Cornwall down to St Ives and a little further is Carn Brea castle. The castle is host to a fantastic middle eastern restaurant owned by the Sawalha family which is open every night but you must call to book. An invitation to the roof of the castle is a must-see! Another fantastic walk is along the Great Flat Lode which takes you through a historical tour of the Cornish mining heritage with beautiful views of old mining houses and chimneys - your challenge is to count as many as possible! The area is brilliant for walks and exploration, bike rides are a must and the beaches are about a 10min drive. Cornwall has so much to offer, even on a rainy day. Cornwall is a foodie’s heaven and our location is perfectly central for any visits from Porthleven to Padstow and everything in between! You will get a pouch of up to date attraction leaflets which include vouchers for discounts at lots of the most popular locations. If you need any other advice or support just let us know - we could talk all day about the bewty that is, Cornwall. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful county.
  • Lovely and clean this little place is perfect for a few nights away. Perfect location being central to everything. Everything you could need on a stay away! Only thing that is to note is the walls are quite thin between the annexes so can hear what’s going on in the other one. Thank you for a wonderful stay and would definitely return

    Daniella2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place in a beautiful location. The property is very modern, cosy & a great kitchen area where you can easily cook a meal. Andrew & Chloe were quick & responsive to emails & made us feel very welcome with extra little touches at Christmas time. An added bonus we could bring our dogs. Would highly recommend. Thankyou once again xx

  • A well appointed apartment providing everything we needed for our stay. The location was great as it allowed us to explore a good chunk of Cornwall and provided a nice temporary home to retreat too on our return from our explores. Andrew and Chloe made us very welcome from our arrival onwards and our little dog enjoyed having a garden to wander around in.

    John2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous place! We enjoyed everything about our stay. We had everything we needed and were short of nothing. The apartment is comfortable and stylish. Andrew and Chloe are friendly and knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend staying here.

  • Andrew and Chloe are very nice, responsive and accommodating! The location of the apartment is perfect for exploring the whole of Cornwall...which we did! We had everything we needed and this was the perfect base for us!

  • This was a great little place to stay in a quiet Cornwall village. It’s well placed for visiting many of local beaches which offer some fantastic views and surf. Being a family of four with two teenage children, it did feel a bit small at times but this was fully explained in the description so there issues there. Fully recommend and would most likely use again in the future.

This part of Cornwall is renowned for its beautiful walks, and Portreath is no different. Portreath beach is lifeguarded during the summer and as such is popular with families. It’s also ideal for surfing, and is a popular surf spot with the locals. There are surf shops, beach shops, café’s and toilets on the beach front with other facilities including 3 pubs in the village itself. Dog’s are welcome on the beach in the off-season. Just off the beach at Portreath is the tiny island of Gull Rock. Home to a variety of bird species this is a good spot for birdwatchers if you can get a close enough view! Kayakers can experience adventurous to the east and west and to offshore islands where you can experience the views of the coastline from a different perspective, visit secluded beaches and explore caves in the cliff face.  West Cornwall Adventures are on hand to show you the ropes at kayaking, surfing and coasteering for anyone who fancies a go.  With a stream running into the sea, and a distinctive harbour, Portreath is a beautiful place to enjoy a holiday. Portreath’s first harbour was built in 1713 by mining adventurers needing a port for their minerals. The remnants of the second harbour that made Portreath a coastal port in 1760 still exist today.  Cycling If you haven’t brought your bike with you, cycle hire is available on the road to nearby Porthtowan, which means you’ve got no excuse not to take advantage of the cycling trails in the area. • During our roadtrip in Cornwall, we spent one night in Linda's bear House. The place was just perfect: little kitchen with good equipment, tv, wide bed, nice sofa, table to eat outside, nice bathroom with shower.

  • Linda’s bear house was really nice. It was easy to get to Gwithian and st. Ives as well as having a nice beach in Portreath. The space itself was great and had everything you need for a few days stay. I would recommend staying here.

  • Spacious, clean and well equipped caravan in a fantastic peaceful rural location. Our hosts (Denzel and Monika) were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. Kate showed us how everything worked, and her hand -illustrated notes on local places to visit were much appreciated and used by us. The caravan had everything we needed to self cater, amd the welcome cream tea was a lovely touch. The little garden area with seating was lovely. The paddock area had friendly horses and goats, and we were able to feed them from our garden. By the end of our stay we felt that we'd made friends- both human and animal! Highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful time here, with the kindest and most thoughtful hosts. The location is close to everything you’d need in terms of beaches, local towns, tourist attractions and even an organic farm shop, which is literally down the road. The caravan was very clean and well equipped and the hosts were always on hand if we needed anything, even offering to do our laundry for us. We can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely book again! Thank you so much for making our stay so lovely. :)

My place is close to the beaches and great views of The Atlantic in the north and the sea in the south. There are restaurants and dining and art and culture in nearby towns of Falmouth and St Ives. It's an unique area where you can discover old Cornish mining sites. You’ll love my place because of the views and the space in my garden. The cottage is cosy and full of light. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families with kids.

  • What a beautiful place, the guys had obviously thought long and hard as we had everything we needed for a fun packed 4 days, the hot tub was the icing on the cake (cleanest one we have had use of).

  • We had a great time at ‘Snapper’ and it exceeded our expectations in every way. When we arrived the directions to the lodge were easy to follow and we were in the hot tub within a few minutes (great after the long drive). Accommodation was great. Spacious living / dining area and clean, well decorated bedrooms. Never been to Cornwall before and we all loved it. Lots to see and do, with the lodge a great base to return to each night for a glass of wine and to enjoy the fantastic view (sometimes from the hot tub). Would recommend highly and likely that we will return again next year. We loved it!

We were not aware of any late night noise despite being above a pub, even though there was a match on at the nearby football ground. For a couple wanting a quiet getaway its lovely, just a 5 minute walk to the harbour. Sparking clean too.

  • We had a lovely time at John's. Lovely area, perfect location for driving to the local attractions, both the towns such as Falmouth and the coastal walks such as Lizard peninsula. Most of all, great for our dogs, as there is a huge field attached to the property that they could run and frolick in. That field also has hammocks which we lounged in in the evenings... Overall a good stay and recommended.

We have a beautiful home which we would love to share with our guests, although named a Cottage, it is a substantial property. The location is very central for visiting the best of what Cornwall has to offer. We want to make your stay pleasant & memorable.
Our guests will enjoy the dinning area where their morning breakfast is available, there is also a microwave in this room & can be used up to 9:00 pm. If you are wishing to relax we have a small conservatory with the addition of a Gas Stove which can be used for those chilly winter evenings. Or if your stay is during the Cornish summer, the patio area is a must.
We love living here in Camborne it has an official ‘Market & Fair’ rights dating back to 1708. Camborne has a Town trail which is an enjoyable circular stroll around the town centre, a great way to discover the towns remarkable history through the buildings and architecture which provides clues to the past. The town has some lovely independent shops to take in. If you are feeling a little more active there are some great routes to walk or cycle from the property.
  • We passed a really nice time. Great people, helpful with everything, and stunning home. They took really good care of us will go back for sure!

  • Absolutely loved our stay here, while we explored the south of Cornwall for a couple days. Excellent location for day trips to the coast . We didn't get to meet Michelle, but Charlie, their son, met us and was a fabulous host. Really enjoyed getting to visit with Charlie, and he gave us some great recommendations. The house is lovely, with a very nice area setup with a great continental breakfast. Had a great nights sleep here, comfortable bed. But, the best was the huge deep soaker tub in the spacious washroom! It was the ticket to relax after a strenuous day hiking the coast. Highly reccomend

    Florina2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a little hard to find which is the only negative thing i could bring up. We could Park just in Front of the House, they carried our luggage upstairs, room and bathroom were very clean and had everything one could ask for. Breakfast was prepared and ready for us (toast, jam, cereal, joghurt...) and the two dogs are really cute! Would definetely recommend and come back!

Our hut is set in a field on our working farm, it is off grid so heating comes from a tiny wood burner and soft lights set the scene inside and out. You have your own compost toilet. Cooking is on a bbq next to your hut. There is also a fire pit so you can toast your marshmallows while you star gaze. We are pet friendly so your favourite friends are welcome to stay with you here on the farm. Wake up and have a leisurely breakfast before deciding how to spent the rest of your day.
Our farm is set on the beautiful rugged north Cornwall coast. We are about a mile from the lovely beach and tiny fishing harbour of Portreath. If you love to walk or cycle then the old tram line runs close to our farm and takes you down the valley to the village. We are about 20 minutes drive from the small cathedral city of Truro with its wonderful selection of shops and restaurants. If you want to venture further afield then the coastal path offers fantastic views of the Atlantic ocean. Driving or public transport, (the bus stops is about a 15 minute walk away), can take you to the many great places we have to offer in this part of the country, from National Trust properties, the domes at Eden, cider farms and ice-cream farms, to quiet almost hidden coves and beaches just waiting to be found and explored. We have plenty of maps and information books that you are welcome to borrow during your stay.
  • Gorgeous little hut on a working farm; I really enjoyed being surrounded by this! The toilet is basic but was clean and near to the hut. Great views, comfy bed, great outside seating furniture and fire pit.

    Ashleigh2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I loved it. If you like the outdoors and the simple life, you’ll love it to. Fire pit and little wood burner were great. And the cows were great company!

  • Really nice place to chill out , everything is there that you need , real nice place I would recommend to anyone !

    Jordan2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved staying at Tracey’s place and would’ve stayed another night if it had been available. As another review mentioned, it is in effect just a shed but it’s been made to feel very homely and cosy and it has log burner so it doesn’t get cold. The location is nice and quiet although it is a working farm so you will hear the cows but that wasn’t a problem for me. Tracey offered lots of tips on where to visit and was very helpful. The toilet is in a separate hut and everywhere is very clean.

    Paula2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay here, Tracey was so friendly but at the same time respected our privacy. A wonderful glamping experience!

  • Stunning view to wake up to.. It is a loveky little space to stay in.. The bed is very comfortable.. The compost toilet is extremely clean, for anyone that might not like the idea I can say it's very clean! • Absolutely beautiful setting and the amenities were outstanding! Everything we could've needed was provided and everything we wanted to do was within driving distance - ideal location! The hot tub was an added bonus - we spent every evening there! Beautiful cottage, very clean and tidy, very spacious! Will definitely be returning!

  • Had a wonderful weekend in this beautiful home. The modern touches to the building look stunning from the outside and the hot tub, heated pool and sauna area were definitely a luxury. Having a car is useful as nearest shops/town are a little drive away. The space was so relaxing and peaceful at all times - can’t fault it.

  • Beautiful modern cottage setting in gorgeous, tranquil woodland/countryside surroundings with lovely onsite pool and other facilities. Cottage was clean and very spacious for two and our little baby. Had everything you need (beds made and towels provided etc ) just need to bring your own self-catering basics if you're staying longer than 1 night; tea, coffee, sugar, salt/pepper etc as only a small amount supplied. Perfect location to explore the area - Falmouth really close as well as a selection of beautiful beaches. Pool area was an added bonus and surrounded by beautiful oak trees and the hot tub and sauna were lovely and hot!

  • We had a great weekend stay. Cottage is spacious for 2 and offers great amenities in respect of the jacuzzi and sauna room. Otherwise, the basics are provided to get you started. No further than 10 minutes drive from Falmouth town, these cottages make a good base for exploring the local area.

  • Great hospitality, lovely facilities, good for a couple of nights chilled close knit atmosphere with fellow campers. Short walk to tent pitches from car park as can’t park next to tent pitches. 25 mins drive to Falmouth and Kynance cove. Close to Sainsbury’s.

A large Edwardian house with a garden, living room with open fire. Guest are welcome to join us by the open fire in the evenings to read, eat and share stories, or if you'd rather, return to your room and maintain your privacy. In the heart of St.Agnes Village, Cornwall, the house is just a 15mins walk to the beach, with many costal walks. You are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare and enjoy your meals. We are a friendly couple who look forward to meeting you, and hope you enjoy your stay
You will have your own private bedroom (this one can sleep three people with a double bed and a single with an en-suite - ideal for a small family) full access to the kitchen, lounge and garden.
Saint Agnes is an idyllic Cornish Village to visit for a quiet get away, to go on long walks along the cliffs, surf at the local beach, hang out in the village pubs and get a taste of a slower pace of life :)
  • A old place full of natural character, lovely welcoming hospitable hosts, lovely rooms with tea/coffee making facilities and very comfortable beds, very central to shops. I have stayed twice and will stay again if in the area.
