The Hiking Barn

The Walking Barn is located on the edge of the forest, within walking distance to the Wadden Sea and the Lauwersmeer. Decorated with taste and color, in addition, there are no houses and buildings to be seen if you look out through the high glass front with French doors. The Walking Barn is a cabin on a residential area. You'll sleep on the romantic loft in a spacious double bed. A nice base for Wadding, a day of Schiermonnikoog, hiking, around Lauwersmeer cycling, fish food, etc. :)

Very much enjoyed a weekend in Anita's cozy house. We were met and shown around by Hatty. The house is decorated with great attention to detail. You won't get tired of it. The beds sleep well and everything you need is present. Because of the warm weather, we stayed with our dog mainly in and around the house. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the veranda and enjoy the many bird visits on the peanut butter tree. Repeatable!

We had an exceptionally lovely stay and were extremely satisfied! The hygiene in the accommodation was very good. Everything we needed was available, and the amenities left nothing to be desired. The apartment above the Edeka is perfect and you don't notice the Edeka! We would like to highlight the appreciative communication with Gabriele and Natascha. They were always kind and helpful. We look forward to coming back (hopefully to the exact apartment) and highly recommend this place!

Wonderful and nice central place to explore Schier. In the middle of the village, near the bus, restaurants, supermarket and cozy terraces. Cozily furnished and nice terrace at the front where you can watch the world pass a bit. Also very nice to be able to use the two basic but good quality bicycles. Adjustable saddle without tools in height. Recommended!

I felt very comfortable during my stay in the cozy little apartment. A nice place for a break and at the same time centrally located in the village, so you can walk to shops or the train station in a short time. Niklas was very friendly, respectful and made for an uncomplicated check-in / check-out. Thank you!

Johanna was very responsive and offered to pick my partner and I up from the nearby town. On the day of our checkout she drove us to the nearby village for easier access to public transport, very kind and friendly woman!

The tiny house is highly recommended if you appreciate peace and simplicity. Amenities are just as described. The Tiny House is located in a row with four others, we found the other guests to be very discreet and nice. Check-in is straightforward. In the house there is a basic set of dishes and cutlery, details were missing, but on vacation that's fine... 🙂 The surroundings are very quiet, a quaint café is within walking distance, otherwise you can see a lot of nature, special waders and some sheep. 🙂 Highly recommended is the Nationaal Park Lauwersmeer or a day trip to Groningen.
