My place is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Alpena. There are a variety of restaurants and bars all within 1/4 mile. Lake Huron is my front yard, with tennis and basketball courts available for public use. The Alpena bandshell is a hop and skip from my house; every Saturday there’s a concert in the summer. There are two public beaches within a mile. And you can see masts from sailboats out my front window as the boat harbor is my neighbor.

The enclosed front porch displays a view through large, multi-pane windows, allowing natural light to illuminate the space. A small decorative birdcage sits on a white ledge, while greenery and neighboring houses can be seen outside, contributing to the inviting atmosphere.

2nd Retreat

This bright and quaint historical little house is one block from the downtown district. This 2nd retreat has a charming enclosed front porch for sitting, a quiet serene space to enjoy your morning coffee or glass of wine, to read a book or just to sit and relax. We are in walking distance to a great Ice cream shop , the local winery, a quaint coffee shop, Mango's for margarita's and end the evening with the local movie theater. Enjoy the small town dynamic.

Top notch place. Very clean and easy to settle in. We love that there was firewood to use and tons of games to play.

This is my group's second time staying at Beth's place. Every other year me, my dad, and a couple friends drive up to Michigan to fish. The house is situated perfect for us. The dock makes it easy for us to keep the boats right there at the back door so we don't have to worry about anyone messing with our stuff. They've installed outlets out back, making it easy on us to charge the batteries. They even have a spot across the road to keep our trailers. Beth is always quick to respond. She and her husband and great hosts, and we never have to worry about anything. Everything is exactly as described which is why we knew booking this place would suit all of our needs. If you're wanting a great place to stay on long lake, this is it.

Best way to describe this stay was PERFECT, lake Huron is in the backyard crystal clear water private sandy beach my kids had fun for hours, not to mention they loved the lawn games and the peaceful bon fire on the beach, Jennie was a great host and is very accommodating quick to answer with any questions 5 mins or else, the home itself was more than what i could have expected super clean super spacious my wife loved the kitchen she felt right at home the house was overstocked and organized like something out of a magazine but better than the magazine! Oh and everything is within a 5 -10 minute drive food, shopping, groceries, i could go on and on this was great memory for me and family can’t wait to check out their other properties this summer !

All I can say is AMAZING!!! The house was spotless!! There was everything you could think of already there, from extra bedding, toiletries, fans, kitchen supplies!! The setting was beautiful! Very quiet and very comfortable. Hosts were very friendly and responsive to answer any questions! Would definitely recommend for a family stay!

Owners are amazing, perfect place for a peaceful get-a-way. I was given a tour around the entire property and had a great time talking with them. Very accommodating, can’t wait to get a chance to stay again! Thanks so much!

The Big Cabin

My family rented The Big Cabin. There was plenty of space for all of us. Long Lake was beautiful and we enjoyed fishing off the dock, the Lilly pad (Lyn provided), and the kayaks. We were close to all of the places we wanted to visit and see like; Rock Port State Park, 40 Mile Point Light house, PH Hoeft State Park, and downtown Alpena. Our dogs enjoyed having the whole yard to roam and play & Valentine was a wonderful host as well. We were impressed by the number of dog friendly places in the area. We look forward to coming back and staying next year.
