Having stayed in Carlinville many times this has been one of my favorite places. Beds were comfortable and generous. Bathrooms were nice and clean. The location was very convenient to the train station and the square, close enough that I could easily walk down and get coffee in the morning. It is on a relatively busy street (for Carlinville) and you can hear the train. This is not something that bothered me and I had no issues sleeping. Would definitely consider for the next time I'm in town.

Cozy Chicken Cottage

Emma's cottage was beautiful and exactly as described. We found it to be charming and felt like "home" She provided some soda/pop, water and light snacks. The outside area was amazing, lovely seating areas. The chickens are are pretty cool and the pigs Corona and Modelo are adorable. Emma stopped outside while we were walking around and let us know that if you say their names they come out of the barn. Truly enjoyed our 1 night stay and already looking forward to a future visit.

Cozy Cajun Rentals

Eugene and Cathy's place was much better than I expected! It was roomier than most houses I've stayed in and it was like being in a peaceful retreat with easy access to everything. The quality kitchen and laundry facilities were far beyond the norm and the bed I stayed in was as comfortable as it gets. Easy temperature control was also a big plus. The bathroom and shower pressure was great...all was clean with no issues. It was great sitting on the back porch at night, gazing at the night sky and hearing a whippoorwill call...then during the day the bird songs were entertaining. Eugene and Cathy were very hospitable and I enjoyed meeting them and felt an connection with these kind-hearted and generous folks. I will definitely stay there again.

Sunshine Cottage

The sunshine cottage was the exact space we needed as respite from the difficulty of saying goodbye to a beloved family member. It was peaceful, quiet and stunningly beautiful. My kids stated it was our best Airbnb ever. It was cozy, well set up and kept us Texans nice and warm in snow like conditions. This trip had more of a bitter, sweet tone since it was to celebrate the life of a dearly departed family member. However, we were delighted in the fact that Janet blessed us with a card with beautiful and sincere condolences, as well as a sweet treat of chocolates and sparkling cider to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I am so grateful people like Janet and her family. The consideration, comfort and kindness cannot truly be repaid, but they were and will always be appreciated. God bless.
