Almost Heaven – Chalet in the Dolomites

Sabrina is a very nice host who always responded quickly to messages. The accommodation corresponded exactly to the pictures, there was nothing missing. Very nice and cozy place. No minus, just a note: You have to remember that you always have to drive a little to go shopping and hiking to the well-known hotspots such as the 3 Zinnen.

Quiet alpine hut in the heart of the Carnic Alps

LevinRating, 5 stars9 months ago
After a short meeting with Helmut, we drove up a large part of the mountain to the Enzianhütte. From there, we made an ascent together for about 30 minutes up to the Mauthner Alm. This was quite a challenge for us lowlanders (Lower Saxony), quite steep and close to the abyss, but with fantastic views. Kindly, Helmut even carried some of our luggage up. The location of the hut is really beautiful, a pure idyll with magnificent views in the midst of grazing cows, which often pay a visit. The hut is very spacious and comfortably furnished, you will find everything you need for a few days on the alpine pasture. The fact that we forgot our toothpaste in the car was not bad at all, as a call to the operators of the Enzianhütte was enough and the very friendly operators remedied the situation. You can also eat and drink very deliciously there. Overall it was an unforgettable experience that we would love to repeat.

Chalet Aiarei

This is an incredible vacation stay! This was our first time in the Dolomites and this chalet was a great location for exploring this gorgeous mountain area and the many amazing hikes in the area. We were charmed by the tiny ancient farm, hearing the lowing of the cows and clucking of the chickens and the opportunity to indulge in the freshest of milk and eggs. And Speck! Yum. The chalet itself also did not disappoint. The beds were comfortable and our family of 4 had lots of room to spread out. We love to cook and this was one of the few airbnbs I’ve been in that was truly set up for cooking, with all the equipment as well as a few necessities such as oil and even fresh herbs in the window sill. So many lovely touches. It is about 20 minutes to get off the hill and down to the main road, so you can’t just pop out for a coffee. But what you get in charm, peace and seclusion was very very worth it to us. Thanks to Fenella and Elisabeth for an amazing stay!
