Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Potomac River

We had a short but nice stay here! We really appreciated the quick responses and thorough explanations of everything. We also appreciated the cookies and couple of waters that we so desperately needed after such a long trip! The place itself is just how it looks in pics and isn’t too far away from the downtown area ☺️

Our family loved our stay at Ken's place. The house was extremely clean, the listing gave us a great feeling going into the rental, and we were not disappointed upon arrival. The property and scenery were fantastic. Our kids loved going out onto trails, creek, hot tub, local lake, and feeding the animals. We all wish we booked a longer stay and we will be back in the near future.

Kayla’s place was great. Nice, quiet house with lots of privacy. Great views . Love the views of the river. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very peaceful, a place to get away and relax. Restful. Grounds are well cared for.

David’s place was wonderful. The property was absolutely amazing! Incredible place to get away from it all and enjoy the nature. The river on the property was my absolute favorite!

Absolutely gorgeous place! My dog and I came for a few days to relax, get away from the city, and breathe some fresh air—this was the perfect place to do it. Tons of comfortable seating options, quiet atmosphere, and a great kitchen.

The place was wonderful. It was wonderful timely responsive My Children enjoyed themselves. My wife didn’t complain and she loves to complain so she didn’t have one complaint which made everything absolutely perfect and I would definitely book there again in the next time I visit Maryland. It was wonderful experience.

This was our second time visiting. We love the house and the view. Best equipped house we have visited. Peaceful place to relax and recharge. We are looking forward to visiting again.

Harmony Lodge was the perfect getaway to relax with my husband and our dog. The lodging itself is clean, quiet, and well equipped for a vacation weekend . The kitchenette is cozy but has all of the basic utensils and several options to cook food. The bedrooms were spacious. Upstairs the loft is a great spot to unwind. The pool was just as idyllic as it looks in the pictures. But the best part is how ideal her property is set up for dogs. The smartly fenced off areas between the pool, her home, and our entrance was the best experience I have had renting a space while traveling with my pup. Elisa was very respectful of our privacy but also a super friendly host. We enjoyed chatting with her and meeting her pups. We found plenty to do within ~20 minutes of the property: hiking, birding, tasty places to eat and found some good beer. I can't recommend Harmony Lodge enough for anyone looking to unwind with their dog AND enjoy the luxury of a swim!

Connie’s place was great! Looked just like the photos. The house was clean and in a great area. Nice and friendly neighbors. We enjoyed the community beaches that are super close, clean and dog friendly. It was a prefect weekend trip. We would book here again!

If you read the reviews from others who stayed here...they were SPOT ON! Lynn's carriage house is like stepping into an immaculate barndominium. You feel like you are prepping for your fox hunt or what my wife and I did, enjoy a tea or glass of wine in the evenings watching the deer come through the fields or the horses in the far fields graze. PEACEFUL. The house has everything you need from coffee, tea, sweeteners, to spices and pots and pans. Come here to relax. Last, the pool on the listing is at the main house. Never did we feel like it wasn't our own private oasis. So cool to enjoy the pool surrounded by horse properties. Lynn is an excellent host. This is an incredible property.

We’ve had this trip booked for over a year and Lake Glen Haven did not disappoint. We were greeted by the sweetest goats, sheep, and cow named Theodore when we arrived. There was even some feed on the picnic table that we could give them. Darn fresh eggs in the fridge and the swimming hole right out front? Get outta here. My kids 10, 8, and 3 were in HEAVEN! There were trails to hike and kayaks to take out on the small lake. Fishing, an island to explore and a charming Farm Store that sold local honey and homemade ice cream sandwiches strictly by honor system. Oh wait, and a tree house! Despite less than awesome weather our family had an amazing time. We were lucky enough to meet and chat with Ashleigh who told us all about the property and her adorable farm animals. Do not hesitate to book. So many memories were made! 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This home was spotlessly clean and looks just like the photos. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room and seating for watching movies. The showers and bathrooms were great, and it was nice to be able to do laundry. We used the pool towels provided. The kitchen was stocked with basic items - there is a keurig coffee pot only and they provide pods which was nice. A few things we didn’t realize: the driveway is very steep and we scraped our van trying to go down the first time - you need to go in at a certain angle. The noise alarms are very sensitive and it went off when we were watching a family movie, and we had to answer a text from Tanya. This was honestly a bit annoying. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub! When the jets were turned on, the hot tub become filled with much foam from all the chlorine so we didn’t turn the jets on anymore. We hiked from the house into the state park and did a 5 mile loop, which was very convenient.

We had a wonderful stay at Majestic Meadows. Sandy & Chris were wonderful hosts and the property was a great home away from home, with a beautiful courtyard full of colorful birds, a private pool, and a ton of flowering plants. Close enough to town to not feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but far away enough to feel secluded. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful place, the yard is peaceful and pristine. VERY spacious apartment/ studio! Comfortable bed!. We had a great stay!

Martha's place is a lovely retreat. There is enough privacy between the main house and the guest house. The guest house is spacious and comfortable with a great screened in porch and access to the pool. It's in a quiet and peaceful area. I look forward to coming back again.

This was a lovely stay! The house was clean (obsessed with the woody fresh smell of the pine) and had everything we could have needed. We even enjoyed stormy weather under the roof on the back deck!

Tucked-away pristine log-cabin with tasteful vintage charm in a peaceful bucolic setting. Spot a horse or two nearby and listen to the birdsong on the front porch swing while taking in the restful views. Terrific fire pit for conversations and s'mores... along with an outdoor shower (there is a clawfoot tub for use inside). A wonderful property! Would definitely return - especially because we did not get to hike around the extensive property and see the waterfall! Definitely recommend.

Everything about this cottage was perfect and so relaxing. It was very comfortable and a great value. The hosts were very kind and responsive. I loved kayaking and sunning on the dock. The only downside that I wish I knew ahead of time is that the water has a ton of jellyfish during the summer so it’s not advisable to swim, unfortunately!

The cabin is nestled in green, one can hear birds chirp all day. The cabin was as it appears in the pictures, clean and all amenities available. We enjoyed the hot tub.

This was the most beautiful place to stay and shut down from work. In addition, it is convenient to the Shenandoah National Park which was beautiful! I also loved spending time with Lorene and her husband and learning the history of the property. This is my go to place in Virginia!

My family had an idyllic time here. Perfect home base for hiking and swimming at the state parks in the area. Good to know for families since it’s hard to tell in photos: - This is essentially a studio apartment, meaning there aren’t full walls that separate the bedroom from the living space so bring a white noise machine - there is wonderful natural light in the apartment but some are sky lights that will be impossible to cover for naptime. That being said, we had a wonderful time with our 4mo old and 4 year old. They have hummingbirds and birds of all colors and lots of instruments, games, and art to experiment with. If your kids are between crawling age to 3 yrs old, all the things in the apartment may stress you out, but it was perfect for a curious 4 year old. We walked the art hike in the backyard at least once a day, which our dog loved, and Sarah even set us up with their firepit to make s’mores. Magical! Truly a trip to remember! We hope to visit again!

This was a wonderful stay near Warrenton!! Location was perfect, so quiet and peaceful. The room was very clean, just as described, nicely decorated!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The views were spectacular!Everything was neat and tidy. There were lots of local recommendations and maps for food, drinks, and adventures. We had a ball picking out what to do next from all great choices. Our only negative was the close proximity of the cabin to the main road. Large trucks traveling that road could be a bit noisy from time to time. In spite of that, we would still return and happily stay there again.
