Casa da Oliveira, is the name of our house

If your experience is the same as ours, we are already happy to have been at our house. Nothing better than being in the backyard with family and friends chatting away even with bugs and insects around us but in a quiet environment where nothing is heard but ourselves. The best thing is the terrace, where we can see the plain and the whole village but nobody sees us. Get ready because in summer there is nothing more scorching than the Alentejo heat but nothing that a few extra fans can't solve!!

cosy well-equipped village home facing a garden with a large variety of plants, where a well and a garden bench engraved with antique tiles are prominent features. Walking/cycling to the lake or contemplating the starlight skies at night are exhilarating experiences. Ideal for long-term stays for anybody wanting a quiet place to work. Good wi-fi. I live with 2 cats in the studio with the entrance door via the garden which I look after but leave to private use of guests. Other pets are welcome.

We loved our 5 day stay at Casa do Jardim! The home is clean, attractive and has high quality appliances and accessories. The peaceful location is soul-mending. There are even sheep grazing nearby! This is a secluded and private place to spend a restful holiday. Tiago is extremely helpful and made wonderful recommendations of nearby points of interest and restaurants.

Very nice little house typical of the area. Beautiful exterior! The jacuzzi is a great bonus for a great evening after a day of sightseeing in the area. Nothing was missing, everything was clean and functional, the amenities as well as the kitchen. Very welcoming host, bread and bottle of wine for us. Very convenient because you can park your car in front of the front door. Small downside with the bathroom shower that quickly becomes either too hot or too cold, but it's a detail. We'll come back to it without hesitation.

The house is located on one of the access roads to Monsaraz, with the windows closed it was still not loud. Despite the extreme heat (up to 44°), it was pleasant inside, even without turning on the air conditioning. Everything was clean and well maintained. We only missed simple utensils such as shower gel, coffee filters and spices. Nevertheless recommended!

From São Lourenço do Barrocal, just minutes away, to nearby towns known for their historical landmarks, renowned restaurants, and excellent wine cellars, everything is within easy reach. The house itself features a refreshing small pool, a well-equipped BBQ for enjoying local produce, and a laid-back atmosphere that invites you to truly unwind. We found it very easily thanks to the good directions, Miguel is a particularly friendly and welcoming host. No worries about the car which is parked on the property. The location is great for those who want to enjoy the wonderful river beaches of Alqueva, especially Azenhas d'el Rei and Mourão or get lost in one of the most beautiful villages in Portugal, Monsaraz.
