Cottage vacation rentals in Pamlico Sound

This place was exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy Memorial Day weekend with friends! Clean, clutter free, and the hot tub was awesome for an early morning soak or late night kick back. About a 15 minute walk from the beach and located in a quiet neighborhood. Also, very short 1-minute drive to large grocery stores. The hosts were communicative and friendly. I would definitely stay here again if visiting OBX.

Very secluded and peaceful. Wish the weather had been better throughout our stay but it was very nice to wake up to the sound of the waves and nature. I will say if you have a toddler to make sure to take a safety gate. He made it a challenge wanting to climb the stairs so we went out to buy some for our stay. WiFi is spotty (which is a good thing) but I didn’t realize none of my messages were sent until this morning. My husband and son enjoyed some fishing and caught a few stingrays. I would love to go back later in the year.

Another fantastic Spring Break at the Best Box! The nicest, cleanest, most relaxing rental we’ve ever found. Didn’t think the property could be any better than it was last year, but the owners have managed to make many creative and thoughtful upgrades. Enjoyed days at the beach, days on the sound, chartered a boat for fishing, ate tons of seafood, and saw the best sunsets right from the deck. Literally took advantage of everything in this house - from crabbing to fishing to baggo to flying kites to playing board games to darts and foosball. Oh and kayaking, relaxing in the hammock, and tubing, too.

Marks place is a perfect location- just a short (5 minute) walk to the beach and to the shops. The house was well equipped with everything you could need plus amenities. My group really enjoyed the hottub and heated pool. Mark was also responsive to any questions and concerns!

My friends and I absolutely loved our stay here. The patio is incredible, it goes up above the roof where you can see the ocean. The walk to the beach is short, but you do either have to use stairs or go up a steep hill to access it. That was fine for us, but could see it being a challenge for the less able bodied. The surrounding neighborhood is cute and is very quiet which we appreciated, and is nearby to a lot of great restaurants. It’s not very walkable but very quick drive to anything you need. Only negative was we thought there would be bikes but there weren’t any (as far as we could find) but that was ok, we still had a great time! We would definitely stay again.

We had such an amazing time here! She was quick to respond and the place was beautiful! The backyard was perfect for our toddler to play in and I really appreciated that there was a baby gate for upstairs. We will definitely be coming back!

This was our second visit at Nags Head at this location. It is a 5-minute walk to the public beach access, and just minutes from the main drag. Love the location which is close to where our daughter works, and the convenience to the local restaurants and tourist traps. A great location/value for the money!

Our stay at the OBX Treehouse was an amazing getaway! The house itself was clean, comfortable, and well-decorated with a seaside vibe that instantly made us feel relaxed. The location was perfect, just steps away from the beach ,so we could head out for a sunrise stroll or a quick dip in the ocean without ever needing to load up the car. The outdoor shower was a great touch after a sandy beach day, and we loved unwinding on the deck in the evenings, listening to the waves. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, yet still close to great restaurants, coffee shops, and other local spots. The hosts were incredibly responsive and thoughtful, providing helpful recommendations and making sure everything was just right for our stay. We truly felt at home here and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend this OBX Tree House!

Great location, only a five minute walk to the beach and you can hear the waves while sitting on the top deck. The house had everything we needed. It was perfectly decorated and very comfortable for lounging after the day's adventures. The fenced in back yard was perfect for our family with dogs, and included a picnic table next to the grill which was perfect for seafood eating. Bikes were great and many other beach necessities for the summer months. Brian provided very detailed instructions and suggestions for restaurants and more. Great place!

This sweet little cottage was perfect for my husband and me. It was located in a quiet neighborhood that was just a half mile walk to downtown Beaufort. It made a great home base for us as we would walk to town, get lunch, and do some exploring then head back to the cottage to relax, then head back downtown for dinner and more exploring. Absolutely perfect for a peaceful weekend getaway.

This place was exactly what we needed for a family vacation at the beach. Walking distance to the ocean, close to restaurants, and stores.

The Mermaid Cottage was the perfect getaway for our family! A clean and beautiful home, a great location where the street is quiet but the surrounding entertainment and restaurants are quickly accessible.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Roberta's Cottage @ Muddy Creek. Very relaxing, very beautiful. Roberta was extremely accommodating, the cottage met & exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised to to have everything stocked from the fresh clean linens, a washer & dryer and even down to the coffee, so we could enjoy a cup first thing in the morning on the cute porch swing. We had hoped to take the kayaks out on the water but we ran into some friends and had a late dinner instead. We can't wait to come back again the next time we visit the area. Definitely #1 on our list of places to stay. Thank you!

Highly recommend! Peaceful, beautiful decor, comfortable bed, the screened in patio is a great spot to relax with a glass of wine and watch the fireflies. Evie was very friendly and always quick to respond. We would definitely stay there again!

The Hideaway was a beautiful cozy place for us to stay during our visit to the OBX. The hideaway had everything we needed to get our day started and I really enjoyed the location as I felt super safe. Coming and going was simple as we were her for a wedding. You’ll love this place. Promise!

Every detail was thoughtfully considered making it feel like a true home away from home. Our host was exceptional—organized, responsive, and clearly takes great pride in both the property and the guest experience. You can tell this home is lovingly cared for, and it made our time by the ocean even more relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-appointed beach getaway. This was my first Airbnb and Alyson made the experience fantastic! She was super friendly and helpful. She gave me lots of recommendations for places to shop, eat, and fun stuff to do with my family. She answered all of my questions and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The house was absolutely gorgeous and made my family of 6 feel right at home! The beds and furniture were super comfy. The kitchen was perfect to make meals and share with the family. The backyard was a great place to hang out. She also had some beach chairs that was wonderful to use at the beach! I cannot express how great this experience was. Alyson and her family are wonderful! We will definitely come back! My husband, niece and I had so much fun on our trip and the house was perfect! We checked out some of the recommendations that Andrew gave us and ate at Fish Hut Grill twice. If we are ever back in the area we would love to stay here again!
