The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Upon arrival read the local information guide I have written and start enjoying the “Nature Coast” of Florida. It is essential to read this to get the most from your trip. Use my kayaks and paddle over the manatees in Crystal River, fish the gulf for saltwater or freshwater fishing at Lake Rousseau, and take a leisurely paddle down the Rainbow River in Dunnellon. Kayaks are on a trailer that has a 1 7/8-inch ball.
