The area is an excellent starting point for day trips to Besseggen, Glittertind, Besshø or Rasletind, among others. There is an eldorado for fishing and hunting in the autumn and many mountain hikes are clear outside the cabin door on mountain skis or randone in the spring.

Short distance to the Birkebeineren Ski Stadium, which offers an extensive network of hiking trails and cross-country skiing tracks. 15-min drive to Nordseter, about 20 minutes to Sjusjøen, both with excellent trails for hiking and skiing. The ski jumping hill is 3-minute drive from the cabin and offers a great view. 5-min drive to grocery store. For alpine skiing, Hafjell is 25 min away, and Kvitfjell is about 1 hour.
