It is located in a small mountain village, Cava, municipality of Oleiros, surrounded by green fields where you can enjoy the harmony of the rural landscape, in the presence of a local community dedicated to agriculture. Stroll through the immense green-painted fields on terraces, with their characteristic schist walls, enjoy and listen to the sound of the stream with its natural waterfalls and mills.

Our very basic single private room has a single bed, chair and draws. It is cool and has a tile floor and sliding glass door. a single matress can be added-will be cramped. We have a beautiful shower room close by, currently cold water with ability to heat water via an urn if needed. Also wells for refreshing bucket showers and a couple of lakes to get wet and swim Space for camping available and free parking on site. Three schist houses being restored at the village of Cunqueiros, in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova, form the Casas da Encosta project. Here it’s possible to relive the life history and culture of the region’s people in the comfort of a typical Portuguese village. According to the owner, Nuno Caldeira, the houses are being restored following the local construction tradition where schist, clay and wood are featured. One of them, Casa da Lagariça, has already opened.

The exterior of the two houses is framed by a gravel pathway and features a blend of natural stone and white walls. A rustic wooden gate provides access, and barren trees are visible, adding to the serene village setting.

fully renovated stone and wood house in the middle of the forest on the edge of a very large lake There is 1 bedroom of 25 m2 with water point comprising a large double bed and a single bed, the 2nd bedroom is 18 m2 but the ceiling is low (184 cm) with a large very comfortable sofa bed making a bed of 200 by 200 cm. The village of Sobral de Baixo, nearby (4 km) has 2 bars and a grocery store with regional products (honey, olive oil, wine...)
