Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Oakland County

We had a great stay. The view is amazing, the kitchen was well appointed, and there were thoughtful touches throughout the house. Host was very communicative and friendly. We would stay again!

Fantastic location! Feels like "up north" but only 1 hour from Detroit. Quiet, no-wake lake with large yard, fire pit, screened in porch and beautiful views. Highly recommend and plan to return next year.

We found this home last year during the death of my father and have stayed multiple times since then. This stay was for my mother's funeral. It feels like home and was very comfortable.

So glad I booked the Little Yellow House with Liz & Zach for my recent work trip! it was in the cutest neighborhood, very quiet (lots of cute dogs around too!). Great location on the street making it easy to find. The house was so adorable too, great sized rooms and friendly layout for my sweet, old puppy to navigate with his limited eyesight. Felt cozy, well kept, and provides great amenities. This will definitely be a recommendation to friends and added to my favorites list!

What an amazing place to stay!! Very peaceful, close to beautiful lakes, walking distance to a wonderful safe beach. We booked this place due to the nearby lakes and the ability to get on the water, we brought our own SUPs but also used one of the 3 kayaks Jennie had available. Amazing microbreweries and restaurants nearby, we also made some late night spider dogs in the backyard on an open fire. The games room was spectacular! Pool table, darts, music and sports on the big screen! An absolutely fantastic extra space to enjoy after paddling all day! We also went to a country concert at Pine Knob which was a quick 15 minute Uber ride away, very easily accessible. The cottage was immaculate and clean, plenty of space for 2 or 3 couples. Loved the guitar, and our travelling partners brought their own guitar so we could have a jam! We most definitely will book this place again, 5+++ stars! Thanks for hosting!!

The place was peaceful. Just what I needed for my stay for business travel. Would like to return during the summer to be able to enjoy the various lakes around the area.

Ish was a great host and the house in Madison Heights was the perfect home base for us as we explored Detroit. It was super cozy for us to come back to and the sun room+backyard was a great setting to hang around the house as we enjoyed the start of summer. Would recommend and hope to be back!

We really enjoyed our 4 days at Dana’s. Birmingham is a beautiful neighborhood, very sweet neighbors. Dana’s place was very comfortable, shower was hot, small kitchen was perfect to prepare breakfast. We would definitely feel lucky to stay here again.

Great spot.. small, quaint, peaceful.. little creek and patio.. Not a lot of room but everything that's needed for one and his pup.. A stones throw to a great main street and super restaurants ..

My stay at Carole’s Motown Oasis was wonderful, choked full of amenities and plenty space to stretch out. It was clean and ready for a peaceful stay. Perfectly equipped for a short or long stay. Plenty of desk space for work and tv equipped in every room. It has a nice walk out patio perfect sunbathing or morning breakfast. All around great stay and better host cant wait to visit again.

Deborah's place was as expected, great location. accommodations were great. Very clean, easy to find (Deborah's directions were very clear). Definitely would stay again!

We enjoyed staying at Ashley's place during the time that our family was handling a medical situation over a period of several week. Ashley and Jeffrey were both very good at communicating with us and always quick to respond. The unit itself is a very nicely/newly remodeled upstairs apartment in an older house. The furnishings were all very nice and high-quality. We especially appreciated the spacious kitchen and the comfortable beds. (Comfortable mattresses was a must-have for us). The bathrooms were both very nice and had lots of artistic flair as well. Overall, the place was well-appointed, as they say. Noise was the only complaint I would have... there's a train that runs 100 yards behind us, a busy road in front of the house, and apparently the people living below us were often making noise after 11 PM. We think they might work night-shifts. Ending on a positive note: the town of Holly is very lovely and had a lot of nice shops and restaurants. Overall, a good choice to stay.

Stayed for a night and caught a show at royal oaks theater. I couldn’t not recommend this spot more. A few bucks more than a hotel room but so worth it. Insanely close to so many things, great spots to eat and drink, a market next door, quiet neighborhood. Very comfortable and private inside, cool basement vibes.

My brothers and I with our significant others always get together for a weekend at the Renaissance Festival in Holly and this was literally the perfect cabin for us - close enough that we could go to and from if we needed a break during our long days at the Faire and peaceful enough at night to come back to and relax or play games like we love to do together. Plenty of space that we could all have beds and felt cozy. The lake is beautiful this time of year and even was warm enough that we could have swam after if we wanted or weren’t warn out from our long days. Parking was easy to figure out even with four vehicles. Host was responsive and super helpful and even allowed us to check in early when we realized that we would rather all drive in together last second. (Whoops! Poor planning on my part.) There was even provided water which was lovely as well, and a really nice touch when it comes to well water! Thank you so much and we will be back!

Staying at Matthew's Place was a delightful experience for us. Nestled in the charm of the 1950s, this fishing cabin brims with character. It's cozy and quaint, yet it doesn't skimp on cleanliness or convenience. Located near the enchanting Village of Clarkston, it offers easy access to local neighborhoods and the downtown area on foot. The serene lake, adorned with ducks, swans, and turtles, provided a peaceful backdrop to our stay. Rick managed to catch a big large- mouth bass, which, in the spirit of catch and release, was returned to its aquatic home. We took advantage of the canoe for a gentle paddle on the lake. We brought our own life vests, though Mathew does provide everything we needed. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and we wholeheartedly recommend Matthew's Place to singles, couples, and small families looking for a quaint getaway with a touch of adventure.

We had a wonderful stay at The Brushstrokes by the Lake, a charming little cabin tucked away on a peaceful lake. We were impressed by how clean, comfortable, and cozy it was. The cabin was like stepping into a storybook. Everything was spotless, well-organized, and inviting, from the plush bed to the cute kitchen. It was the kind of place where you immediately take a deep breath and think, “Oh, this is going to be good.” And it was! The real gem is the lake. Calm and quiet, it offered the perfect backdrop for afternoon conversations, evening by the fire pit, and morning with coffee. It gave us a much-needed space to relax and recenter between camp pickup/drop-offs & a concert, which made our days feel less hectic and more like a retreat. Brushstrokes by the Lake is a hidden getaway—simple, serene, and full of charm. Highly recommend for anyone needing a charming escape and a little peace between the chaos. And definitely bring your watercolors to paint by the water! It was lovely!

It was everything and more for what we were looking for in a weekend. Close proximity to lakes, fishing, and modern conveniences, but still separated and immersed in nature. The cabin itself has an aura of closeness to it. The kitchen was well stocked for use, and if we didnt have what was needed already, many before us left things to carry forward. The beds were a dream, and family tine in the living room felt more I solved than our own home. It was a surreal place to be with my family.

The place was as described. The issues that I had which were minor Abdel responded promptly and either fixed or made it right. the place was a beautiful home. I would recommend as I do come to the Detroit area and will look to stay there in the future.
