Cottage vacation rentals in North Shore

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We were traveling for work in Massachusetts and typically we stay at Marriott property. I checked Airbnb to find a place that was kid friendly and this popped up. It was a new listing with no reviews yet, and it ended up exceeding our expectations. This cute little cabin is right on the water. Although it is smaller for me, pure square footage perspective it’s a two bedroom one full bath with a loft that sleeps two kids so the way it was set up felt like plenty of space for us. It has kayaks and paddle boards. There’s a beach and there’s a community pool. There’s an exercise facility. It easily slept my wife and I plus two kids in a fun loft that they got to climb in and out of, and grandma that came to help us watch the kids. The staff at the resort were very friendly and easy to work with. It felt very safe and private. The AC worked well. The beds were very comfortable. Overall this is gem and we will be staying here again for sure.

Camille’s place is fantastic! Great location and it’s so clean and well decorated. Camille is so fast to communicate and is very accommodating. We’ve stayed many times and look forward to returning again.

It was exactly what my family was looking for. It was relaxing and private. It allowed us to not feel cramped like a hotel stay, but allowed us to cook and enjoy the relaxing day. If you have a small kid, the golf cart is a must!

We needed a nice little place to stay while we visited family and friends. This was perfect. Cute and convenient, plus lots of fun amenities like a clubhouse, ball courts, kayaks and the lake. We went off season, so the pool was closed and it was too cold to boat, but it was still fun. We enjoyed walking the community, playing ping-pong and driving the golf cart.

This place is truly magical! The accommodations are super comfy and cozy and the views spectacular. We stayed here with our close friends before our wedding and had such a special time.

This home was exactly what we wanted for our beach vacation. It was an easy walk to the beach, so we didn't have to pay for parking. The neighborhood was safe and private, so we could also be away from the hustle and bussle. We were an easy drive from everywhere we planned to visit as well. Josh and the team were very responsive before, during, and after our visit. I will definitely check their listings first for all future visits to the area!

Entering the cottage for the first time was like walking into a delightful and spotless Alice -in - Wonderland space. Despite the wooded setting, the cottage was light and bright. The room layout had nooks for privacy as well as larger spaces for socializing. The window seat in the living room was made for reading; a small parlor facing the front enabled private conversations. The dining table was perfect for our evening game of Uno. My niece immediately adopted the loft for her own space. Nearby Hudson provided a variety of restaurants and a river walk. We were only sad that we had but one day to spend here.

We stayed at this property for 6 weeks with our dog and loved it. The neighborhood is gorgeous, walkable, and has the perfect beach for pup play. Owners are on-site, friendly, and quick to respond. The carriage house was very clean and as beautiful as pictured. We would certainly stay here again.

We were lucky enough to have a very extended stay at this lovely little bungalow! The house is so sweet! The layout is easy, the rooms are comfortably furnished, and the floors are beautiful, and there is an incredible library of books. The house is full of natural light, and nestled in a little private spot. There is lovely landscaping in the front yard, and the back yard is magical. The pool is amazing, and you feel like you are in your own little peaceful world here. The house is an easy walk to all of the things that make Rockport such a cool town. And, you can hear the ocean at night from the yard! Trent and Cassie are the best hosts! Kind, responsive, and mellow. We loved everything about our stay! We will be back. ( :

Ana was very responsive and even allowed me to check in a little early the day before my wedding. She responded to my phone call before the stay and was quick to respond with any/all messages. The place was a perfect for us to relax before and after our wedding

Another great stay at this place! It’s been consistently a great spot for us. Perfect for a walk to beach or into town. We love it and will definitely be back.

Cozy spot with scenic views of Silver Lake. Our host Eric was responsive and provided detailed instructions on how to access the space and all of the perks included with the rental. Will definitely rebook if I ever find myself back in the area.

Larry's place was beautiful. There was a great view of the inlet from both downstairs and upstairs. It's within walking distance to downtown Portsmouth, which is great because parking can be tricky in town. But we had a long day driving so we just enjoyed sitting out on the balcony and relaxing. Having a bedroom with living room upstairs AND downstairs was perfect as it afforded my daughter and I each our own space. The only problem was we didn't have more than one night to stay!

We had a great time at Flip Flop and would recommend. It is so close to the beach and the welcome book had great restaurant recommendations. The Beach Plums clam chowder was especially good. The drive to Portsmouth or Rye is just 12 minutes or so. So much to do in the city for first timers! We were doing family research in the area and it was a lovely way to spend time together. Our great grandfather was a shoaler so we were surprised to look out on a clear day and see the Isles of Shoals. Thank you Carrie for your responsiveness!

We had the perfect stay! The house was perfect for our toddler to feel comfortable playing both inside and outside. The location was great and easily accessible to downtown. Gordon was also such a gracious host and offered flexible check in and check out times to better accommodate our travel plans. We would absolutely stay here again!

Absolutely adorable little cottage! Well designed for efficiency and super cute decor. Beds were comfy and a/c was cool. Loved the location and how quiet and peaceful it was. Colby was a great host and easy to reach. Super find for us!

This cottage was perfect for my husband and I who visited Plum Island for a quick three night getaway. The weather was cold and rainy but given the location, we were a 5-10 minute drive to shops and restaurants. Despite the weather, a short walk to the beach was also possible and what a sight to see with the rough waves! Inside, the gas stove added to the charm of this cottage, making it all the more cozy and romantic! We were able to have a brief campfire (some wood included but we purchased more) during our last night. All in all, it was a delightful stay and we look forward to returning!!

We had high expectations — but the reality of this extraordinary spot exceeded them on all fronts. So tastefully and carefully decorated, everything new and spotless. The kitchen fully outfitted with brand new equipment and appliances, the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in in any Airbnb or luxury hotel (and great linens and pillows), wonderful flow from room to room, new, beautifully designed and perfectly functioning baths and windows/blinds, stylish and comfortable seating on the deck (and indoors), with more brand new seating flowing out onto the lawn. But what topped all that design perfection was the site’s natural beauty. Such privacy out on the point and because the view is almost 360, and primary orientation is toward sunset, the view all around are deep and exquisite, flowing out over marshland, tidal rivers to the bay. That made for fun paddle boarding, and even a brisk swim! For nature lovers, the bird life was so rich and varied. Heaven on earth

This is our second time staying at Rick and Christina’s gorgeous Andover home. As someone who grew up in the town, this location and the house itself feels nostalgic, cosy, and familiar. Whether you’re new to exploring north of Boston, or a returning hometown visitor, this location is a treasure. We will most certainly visit again and again.
