Offered by Parks Canada, the property is perfectly equipped to suit most needs and desires, with comfortable furnishings and exceptional interior finishing. A perfect retreat to escape to. Located at the Newboro Lockstation, you have full use of the park and swimming areas, picnic tables etc. Newboro Lock station is located in Newboro, a short scenic drive from the villages of Portland, and Westport, thirty minutes from the City of Kingston and Highway 401, and 1.5 hours from downtown Ottawa. There are 4 parking spaces to fit cars comfortably. There is a 6 person patio set on the back deck which faces a forested area with views of the front and back yard. Propane woodstove in living room. Main deck accessed from the sun room. 16' canoe provided. The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. You can take advantage of the great fishing, boating, swimming, water-skiing, or lock through the historic canal system to the other lakes and towns. In the surrounding towns and cities there are also lots of activities and events to participate in including golf, historic tours, boat tours, shopping, restaurants and lots more!
