Vacation rentals with lake access in New River Valley

We had a lovely experience in our little cottage. Everything was neat and clean. Right after we arrived, a deer walked by. There is a very nice park at the end of the street. Our dogs loved walking and sniffing everywhere. The view of the lake and mountains is peaceful. People fished and picnicked . There is a pier. I saw people boating, and riding on wave runners. Draper Mercantile is nearby. The menu is tasty and there is a variety of coffees, beer and wine available. Right there is an ice cream shop called Conerys. A bike trail is right there by Draper’s.

Sam's house is super cute, well laid out and very clean. The NRV trail is right across the road and very nice to hike with family, the water views are beautiful and it was very peaceful. We would definitely stay again when we come back to the mountains!

This place is very high vibe and peaceful. And the bed is really comfy. The views are awesome and the pond nearby really takes it up a notch. We loved it!!

One of the best family vacations we’ve ever had! The house was the perfect blend of comfort and charm—so relaxing that we only left by car twice all week. There was plenty to do for our kids and dogs, and the property was incredibly dog-friendly, which made the whole experience even better. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the beautiful front porch, soaking in the peace and quiet. It truly felt like the definition of relaxation. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with family in a gorgeous setting.

Our group all had an amazing time at Lakeview. We had a combo of adults and young kids. The rooms were large so our kids could stay in the room with us without it being cramped. Everyone enjoyed the MANY amenities the house including the giant game room, floats, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards beach area, and fire pit. The house was well stocked and included many items that other rentals do not. It felt like a home, and we will definitely come back! The owners were also very responsive and proactive in the communication!

Stayed May 26-June 1. Perfect cabin for 4 people. We drove our RAM truck hauling 2 Harley bikes. The yard is big enough to accommodate. The driveway is gravel but it wasn’t too uphill. We encountered few problems and Ms. Jill answered all our questions and helped with the situation. She’s a phenomenal host! She’s very responsive, and accommodating to our issues. Complete amenities. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. We did brought our own ( we always do). We cooked breakfast for three days and cooked some steaks on the griddle outside on our 2nd night. Washed our clothes, laundry supplies provided. Great WiFi connection. We rode our bikes to the mountains. If you love to ride, you won’t regret staying here! 5 star review. Definitely recommended!

the house is in a great location and the private beach and dock were amazing! the house has rustic charm and all the amenities you could need. Henry was a great host - quick go communicate and provided lots of clear details about our stay as well as helpful information about things to do in the area! this vacation was a perfect mix of acitivity and relaxation. we would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay at the lake house. There was a private dock located very close and a swim area just a couple minutes down the road. The house had beautiful views and was well stocked with everything we needed for the week!

We had a great stay at the lake house. The house was clean and well appointed. Communication with the host was effortless. We have stayed at this property before and were pleased to see many upgrades, particularly the upstairs bedroom and the master space downstairs. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway to the lake.

Easy to find, easy to check in. It was SO peaceful as if you had the whole place to yourself. It was wheel chair accessible. Had a full kitchen with all the stuff we needed to cook full meals. It was super clean all around . The dock area is wonderful and was peaceful to sit by the water. It’s not often you have access to 12 acres on the lake. No complaints. We would for sure stay here again.

Beautiful place to stay with a beautiful view. It sat on a knoll where the porch sits higher than the small houses in front making for a perfect view and your choice of seating. Has an outdoor ceiling fan as well. Couldn't ask for anything more inside. It's open with easy access to everything. I also found the perfect pillow for my neck. Unfortunately, I don't think they are manufactured anymore. Two deer feed in the yard next to us and didn't even pay any attention to me when I went to the car. Even gat to watch four loose cows walk down the street...first time done here. We will definitely try to make it back. Probably the best price we've paid for such a nice place!

We had a fun time at Chris’ lake house. It was very clean, quiet, and had all the amenities as described. Hot tub (with its private surround) was enjoyable during the winter temps. Ample kitchen supplies since there aren’t any restaurants around. Make sure to get groceries beforehand!

Absolutely beautiful location! Perfect home for our nephews college graduation. We spent most of the days outside on the deck overlooking the peaceful lake. The entire home was comfortable and welcoming. We especially liked the record player in the living room. Would love to visit this home in the fall to see the foliage. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us on our special weekend.

We loved our stay at Little Sycamore. It is a beautiful and peaceful place on the river. The hosts are wonderful people as are the neighbors. The view of the river is spectacular and it is tucked back off the main road so there is very little noise. Access to the river is excellent and we had alot of fun fishing and being out on the water. The hosts have worked very hard on the house and everything was spotless. We really like how convenient it was to the stores and amenities. The dogs had a great time playing in the back yard and in the river. The porch is a fantastic place to just sit and relax and listen to the sounds of the river. I highly recommend staying at Little Sycamore. We definitely plan on making future reservations.

Had a wonderful stay at Lindsay’s place! The lake views are unbeatable. Great location to the New River Trail and we were able to bike a few miles. The Draper Mercantile has delicious food and lots of little gifts to shop. It was just the relaxing get away I needed.

A great host with a place to get away and relax. It's close enough to various sites, and it's low-key and relaxing. I enjoyed the fire pit and watching deer run across the fields.

A long weekend at this vacation spot was just what my son, granddaughter, and I needed. The house was clean, inviting, and well organized. We relaxed on the porch and listened to the river. For a couple of days the river was swift and cloudy, but once it cleared and we could see the bottom, we took our floats and waded right in, oooh chilly! And afterward we managed those flights of steps back up ( ages 8-73). Driving up from NC we stopped in Mt Airy for some photo ops. Other side trips were Mabry Mill, Nancy's Candies, and the Friday Night Jamboree and street music in Floyd. What a treat! As we left the area we toured Mountain Music Museum near Galax and enjoyed the Noon time Music in the Breezeway. Our favorite eats were the home cooked veggies and meals at Crooked Oak Restaurant. If you would like to sit beside the river or the fire pit you might want to bring along a couple of lightweight folding chairs. Can't think of anything else you'll need.
