Melanie’s house is the perfect vacation house. As soon as you walk in you will be impressed. Beautiful beach decor, clean and well stocked with pretty much anything and everything you could ever need. The view from the top floor balcony is unbelievable!!! We stayed with my in-laws and our older son with his girlfriend for our younger ones URI graduation weekend and we will never forget the 5 days we spent there. We hope to come back soon!!!

Private beach; firepit, outdoor shower, 2 kitchens

EmilyRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Stayed here for a bachelorette party and it was perfect! Beach access is a huge part of why we chose this house and it didn’t disappoint. Loved having two kitchens and living room spaces so we could spread out and prep/store in one kitchen! Host was very responsive and this house has the most reasonable check-out cleanup list I’ve ever seen with an Airbnb! One thing I’ll note is that the house has a very christian vibe—all the books are religious, Jesus statue in the garden, etc. Our group didn’t really mind but figured I’d mention it in case it makes your group uncomfortable!

Waterfront, Dog-Friendly Cottage on the Cove

StephanieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved our stay at Luke’s cottage! Everything was exactly as described and the location was incredible! You could not be any closer to the water! We loved sitting out on the dock taking in the beautiful water views and sunsets, and relaxing in the yard with our puppy. She loved being able to run and play in the fenced in yard. Prior to our stay, we received a list from Luke of several local recommendations from places to eat to things to do, of which we visited several and loved them all! Luke also reached out immediately when he found an item we left behind and was so kind to let us know and arrange for returning to us. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone!

Bill was a wonderful host! He greeted us upon arrival and was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful when discussing the accommodations within his and Pam's home. The home was incredibly clean and organized; it had everything that we needed during our stay. The grounds at the home are immensely peaceful to the point that it can feel like you're in your own piece of paradise with how tranquil it is. You'll also enjoy identifying the diverse local wildlife that you can watch from the porch in the back. The property is also very close to great local landmarks, shopping needs, and restaurants! This is the ideal home to book if you're able to. Definitely planning to try and stay here again in the future!

Striped Bass Villa - Beachfront Vacation Home

GeorgeRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We were extremely pleased with Sophia's place. Is was exactly as described. It was the perfect hangout for my wife and our two dogs. A couple of steps off the deck and we are on the beach. The views from the living room were outstanding. Given it's location, close to East Matunuck beach you practically have a private beach for the small condo complex we were in. It is very conveniently located, close to Matunuck Oyster House and close to Wakefield and Naragansett for shoping and additional restaurants. The cottage was well equiped and met all out needs, given we ate most meals in. We would definetly stay here again.

Quiet & Cozy Beach Escape House

HeatherRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We would definitely stay here again. The house was spotless which is very important to me. Great layout, not overdecorated or cluttered, not under decorated either. Felt homey. Lots of windows for those ocean breezes. Nice quiet neighborhood. Great location as we were a short drive to Jamestown, Saunderstown, Wickford Village. Kitchen had everything we needed. Even better than advertised.

Your guide to Narragansett

All About Narragansett

The small seaside community of Narragansett, on the chilly Atlantic waters of Rhode Island’s southern coast, has attracted summer-bound beachgoers for generations. Drawn by impeccable weather and sprawling beaches rife with recreational opportunities, visitors congregate on the soft sandy beaches for surfing and sunbathing. The historic downtown areas with streetside cafes, cobblestoned streets, and iconic New England-style architecture offer opportunities to enjoy regional seafood like lobster, steamed clams, and boiled crawfish.

If you’re looking to do some hiking and wildlife spotting outside of town, Burlingame State Park, Big River Management Area, and Block Island National Wildlife Refuge are easily accessible from Narragansett.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Narragansett

Rhode Island’s northeastern coastal climate sees wide swings in seasonal conditions throughout the year. The summers are short but pleasant, with warm temperatures and minimal rainfall, making for excellent weather for enjoying the area’s beaches. June through September are the busiest season for vacation rentals in Narragansett. Spring and fall might be the best times to visit, as daytime temperatures remain warm but the beach is less crowded. Bear in mind that it will get chilly at night, especially close to the ocean, so come prepared with layers. Winters here tend to be cold, bringing below-freezing temperatures and snow, so bundle up before you head out for the day, or cozy up in your cottage with a cup of tea and watch the wild waves crash on the beach.

Thanks to Rhode Island’s small footprint, Narragansett provides easy access to the rest of the state and its wide array of cultural, outdoor, and festival offerings. In August, the Charlestown Seafood Festival in nearby Charlestown is a three-day event celebrating fresh Atlantic Ocean hauls with food, live music, and a fireworks display.

Top things to do in Narragansett

Beavertail State Park

Walking trails, rocky coastlines, and picnic areas adorn this small state park overlooking Narragansett Bay. You can enjoy afternoons in the sun and check out the onsite Lighthouse Museum and its exhibits. Or visit the science center with detailed information on the local geology, ecology, and adjacent tide pools that are open for exploration during low tide.

Point Judith Pond

Point Judith Pond is one of the most easily accessible clamming sites in Rhode Island. It’s located on the edge of town, drawing fans of steamers and quahogs. Several shops in town will rent you the gear you’ll need to go clamming. Just be sure you’re familiar with daily catch limits and grab a temporary fishing license before heading out.

Block Island

Take the Point Judith Ferry to this small island retreat roughly 12 miles off the coast of Rhode Island. Block Island is known for its dramatic sweeping cliffs, sandy beaches, and a 19th-century lighthouse. The Block Island National Wildlife Refuge, on the northern side of the island, offers opportunities for hiking while you check out the migratory songbirds that call the island home.
