A suspension bridge is viewed against a backdrop of snow-covered mountains under a bright blue sky. Snow blankets the pathway leading to the bridge, framed by trees, with the sunlight creating a shimmering effect on the snow. The scene captures a serene and picturesque winter landscape.

Tranquil Mountain Getaway | Breathtaking Scenery

KumaranRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had an unreal time staying here! Genuinely couldn’t recommend it more if you’re thinking of booking. Anju and her family were lovely, super helpful with loads of suggestions for things to do and even held onto our bags the whole next day for us so that we could go out on a hike without lugging them around! They also run a lovely little cafe just across from the train station, perfect for grabbing a coffee or bite before heading off for a hike or whatever you’re up to (and you get a free coffee if you’re staying in the Airbnb, which is a nice touch) They’re doing a brilliant job with the place, the vibe in the cafe is deadly and the accommodation itself is massive! There were only three of us but the place could easily fit more, and the kitchen’s fully kitted out if you want to cook. The local shop also has a really good range of items, the fresh meats are great!

10-minute walk from JR Narai Station, renovated old house on the Nakasendo Way in Narai, "Onyado Misuya"

AshleighRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Perfect location right in the centre of the beautiful village. Takashi san was very responsive, friendly and helpful. The place can sleep many people so very good value for money. Although we were only two. Very much recommend as a nice, clean place to stay after a long day of hiking. Note that there are very few restaurants that stay open at night for dinner in the town so you may have to hop on a train for dinner or bring food to cook in the kitchen.

The check-in instructions were very polite, and I was grateful for the quick response. The inn was a very relaxing space surrounded by special furniture. The air I breathed in the morning in the veranda garden was very pleasant. It was a place I would definitely like to stay again!

Staying here was such a delight! I would definitely like to stay a lot longer! The home is beautiful, clean and super cozy! It also has that classic Japanese home feel to it that makes you feel comfortable the second you walk into the door! The host is also really nice and respectable. I would definitely recommend going there for your trip!

The house as well as the experience was amazing, it is much more beautiful than the photos. It’s one of the most beautiful renovated Japanese homes I’ve been in. The hosts are really friendly and helpful to give us recommendations which made our trip so enjoyable. If I travel to Gifu again I’d definitely stay again!

Big house and large grounds to play Satoyama [old house hana]

LaurenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I stayed here for the firefly festival in Tatsuno and really loved it! The house is a nice mix of Japanese and Western style. It also smelled really good 😍! It’s very big and clean. The kitchen had everything I needed. 🍽️ It’s also super dog-friendly 🐕, which I really appreciated. Thank you so much! My big young Irish setter was comfortable in a spacious dog pen they provide with many blankets and such. I’d love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

It was an old house, but it was well cleaned and I had a pleasant time!It was a no-plan trip, even for sightseeing in the surrounding area, but I was able to make a lot of memories. You can also go to Lake Suwa and Matsumoto in about an hour, so you can also go sightseeing in Nagano!
